detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: This new laptop hits all of my "must haves" plus more. I tried the X1 Carbon but prefer the materials and feel of the 2-in-1. I can use this for everything, from personal to corporate work. I also tried the HP x360 Spectre and x360 Envy but sent them back and am more satisfied with the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 2-in-1 Gen 9. It is also capable of cellular which is a bonus. It doesn't have a super bright OLED screen like the HPs, but I like the matte finish display and it is bright enough in-doors. The new style digital pen magnetically attaches to the right slide panel, securely, and feels good for writing. Great port selection, as I typically attach an external monitor via HDMI, and use the USB ports for mouse or headsets.
Some of the keys are in different locations, like the Ctrl and Fn keys in the lower left are swapped from the typical Thinkpad layout, with Ctrl left of the Fn key instead of the other way around, but I'm getting used to them, not a big deal. This was a birthday present for myself, 2 weeks in, I'm very happy with it.

I needed an ultralight 2-in-1 laptop with a foldable touchscreen to write on lecture slides for my classes, long battery life, thin design to easily fit on airplane trays when I travel for work, and plenty of ports (USB-C, USB-A, HDMI). I have been using Microsoft Surface Pros for the last several years but the newest version has issues with the Google Drive desktop app, which I use extensively for work. I had a Lenovo Yoga in the past and it was clunky, overheated easily, and relatively heavy for daily commutes. The Thinkpad X1 was the best compromise among the options I considered. It's super lightweight, compact, fast, and quiet. I bought one with 1 TD SSD and 32 GB, and it has no problem running multiple programs at once (e.g., Zoom, PowerPoint, Google Chrome). I also like that the stylus attaches to the side of the keyboard. It isn't physically attached, but I haven't had any issues with it accidentally falling off. As a safeguard, I carry it in a laptop case, though.

detailedReviews 7: content: This laptop is pretty good. It is quick and has only lagged a few times, but that's because I ran multiple programs at once trying to push the laptop to its limit. I use it mainly for school, very good to take class notes with the included pen. The pen battery life is very long, haven't charged it for three weeks and still has 50% battery, although the battery percentage doesn't seem to be very precise. The laptop battery life is good, use it all day for school and charge it only at night, usually I run it at 50% brightness. It runs programs smoothly, but I haven't tried using 3D graphics programs on it. The only program I use and lags often it Adobe Acrobat, but I never have good experiences with that program. The screen has a very good texture and doesn't reflect light like glass does. The build seems to be metal and very solid. Amazing trackpad. The laptop never made noise when I used it. Honestly, very good laptop, no problems in usage.
