items 3: content: I wasn’t quite prepared for the sheer scale of this! While I’ve built Lego sets before, nothing as sophisticated as this one. Feeling a bit overwhelmed, I roped in my cousin-in-law, a seasoned Lego builder!
We just finished building the lego NASA Artemis Space Launch System and overall think it is a great set. The build time was around 8 hours, spread across two days, with the finished model standing at 70cm tall and ~30cm wide.
Pros:
- The finished model looks amazing and makes a great display piece, especially if you already have the Saturn V rocket or NASA space shuttle.
- There are loads of little details that add to the building experience, including mini stair cases, as well as fuel lines extending up the tower.
- As with most lego sets, the instructions were clear and easy to follow, with the inclusion of facts on the Artemis program, adding a nice touch.
- Smooth convex plates on the base make moving the set around a lot easier compared to rubber pads, while remaining safe and stable.
- at £220 rrp, the set represents good value, especially when comparing to other sets around this price mark. The set has a piece count of 3601, roughly working out as 6p per piece.
Cons:
- Although the finished product looks great, there were parts of the build which were quite repetitive, such as the tower assembly.
- It would have been good to see more printed parts instead of stickers, especially on the boosters, where it was quite difficult to line up.
Summary:
Overall I would highly recommend this set, and it makes a great addition to the Lego space line up. My only recommendation would be to spread the build over a few sessions, so that it doesn't feel too repetitive, especially when building the tower section.

items 4: content: I heard all the gripe that's floating around about this set. I missed out on the Saturn 5 and the lem, but I loved Discovery, so I knew I had to get this one. First gripe: repetitive build: that's the kind of set this is, I advise not trying to do it all in one go, take a break every few bags and you'll be fine. Second gripe: the rocket dosen't begin until bag 22, yes that's true, but this set is the whole launch system, not just the rocket, and thats great. Third gripe: STICKERS, yes there are stickers, probably because Lego didn't want to print some parts. I'll say this, these stickers are high quality, I don't believe they'll discolor, they're easy to work with too, you can remove and reapply. I do recommend some precision tools, like precision tweezers to apply and nudge the stickers into place, also have plenty of lighting and good visibility and relax to have a steady hand. The end result is so good, I decided to overlook all the gripes and give this one 5 stars, it is an incredible and functional display piece, it's huge too, so make sure you have the room. Not everyone will love building this set, but everyone can agree it looks awesome.

items 5: content: The Artemis SLS set is a must have for any space enthusiast. This is the rocket that will take us back to the moon. First, the launch platform is a fun build with creative detailing. Second, the launch platform is knowingly repetitive but very satisfying to see rise floor by floor. fun technical feature of the swing away arms and boarding platform to colorful red piping that draws the eye up the length of the platform. Lastly, but not least of all is the rocket and solid fuel boosters. a surprisingly solid build that easily stands on its own and has a couple of teachers to the launch tower for added stability. Honestly, the stickers were a nightmare, at least for me but came out well in the end. The end result is a stunning display set. One of my most favorite and a real conversation started. Well done Lego !

items 7: content: This is not a perfect build experience, with a few annoying stickers and some repetition in the launch tower and booster builds, but after seeing the finished product, I didn't regret any of the hours I spent (around 18, give or take) building this kit. The attention to detail was impressive, and coming from an aerospace engineer that means something. It's expensive, but for the size of the kit, it's actually cheap. Slap a "Star Wars" logo on the box and it's $400 all day. Take your time and enjoy the build. A few breaks will take care of the tedious sections and afterwards the only stress you'll feel will be trying to find a home for this behemoth.

items 8: content: I love this set as a display piece, it’s detailed, beautifully finished and a great addition to my space collection. However I found the build to be a bit repetitive. I had a missing piece that I could not replace using one of my spare pieces, but fortunately the piece went inside the rocket which means I can’t see it missing.
I definitely recommend this set to any space enthusiast!

items 9: content: I’m loving all the new Space sets Lego is releasing. This set is definitely no exception. It is extremely detailed from the rocket to the launch pad with all of its components. It is very sturdy and can easily be moved. There’s a mixture of stickers and printed pieces which I found kinda weird. I do like that it’s one bag per number which facilitates the building process. The biggest flaw in this set is that there is so much repetition. But, overall, I highly recommend this set for any space fan.

items 10: content: Wow this set looks amazing! I have enjoyed starting to build it. The instructions are easy to follow and the numbered bags are really helpful, I think the finished product will look brilliant. It is well made and durable and will provide days of fun and entertainment building it. I will update my review as I build more of it.

items 11: content: So about 80-85% of the pieces are purely for building the launchpad and tower. The majority of the tower is quite repetitive and uses a lot of technic pieces. Not anywhere near as bad as the Eiffel tower, but it gets a lot more exciting once you're done building the tower up and you move onto the moving parts and pipes and then onto the rocket and boosters and stuff.
As a display piece, I love it. If I was younger I would probably love playing with it too. Build experience was not my favourite, but I did have a good idea that this is what it would be like when I bought it just by looking at it.

items 12: content: I like this kit, it looks great and was not particularly difficult to build and I enjoyed the build, quite a bit of repetition for the launch tower though. My only negatives are:
The markings are a mixture of graphics printed onto the lego and stickers - why the stickers, they do detract and as I struggle to get the straight I have left them off the finished model.
I have the Saturn V - this should have been the same scale (more of a wish than a gripe)
Anyway if you like space stuff this is a pretty decent addition to your collection.

items 13: content: This is one of the most fun sets I've built in many years. The NASA themed LEGO sets are my favorite line and this one is no exception. I would put this equal with the Saturn V set. The launch tower and pad are so detailed but the lack of printed elements was a minor letdown. In fact the only complaint is that there are stickers for a set approaching $300. Minor grievance, but still.
Overall, a great set and a welcome addition to my collection.

items 14: content: Whereas Lego has a range of rocket models. Including the very impressive Saturn V model. This specific model include the launch pad which adds to the aesthetics of the finished model. A relative easy to assemble model with some nice details.
Because of the subject matter I would have preferred the finished model to have been total smooth (no nods) especially on the launch pad floor.
Otherwise a near perfect subject.

items 15: content: I'm sure other reviews will say this so it's not new, building the tower is a bit repetitive. Of course, NOT the fault of LEGO, it's simply how the real tower is built. However, once it is built, it looks AMAZING. The rocket and boosters look amazing, although I question why there is a mix of stickers and pre-painted(printed?) parts, but no bother, this set is going to look AMAZING once I build a shelf big enough to hold it an the Saturn V. (Speaking of, LEGO, if you're listening, design and sell us a scale-accurate tower for the Saturn V, I'm sure you will sell the heck out of it).
