detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: Have GoPro 8 for several years and one frustration I have is the overheating and extreme cold shut down issue with GoPro. Even in an air conditioned place, if continue recording, GoPro will overheat and shut down. Recent trip to Iceland where temp drop to -12F (~24C), GoPro shuts down at the critical moment of the Geysir spout and other times where it shuts down due to overheat or cold and cause lost of precious video footage where some moments only happen once. Had DJI Action 4 for about 2 months. Compare GoPro 8 which I still have to DJI, both video and photo quality are good to a causal user like me. Advantages DJI have over GoPro is when it gets hot, it continues to record (both DJI and GoPro gets very hot during continues recording); DJI's magnetic quick release adapters make changing from one setup to another SO MUCH easier. DJI has a little better footage when shoot in dark areas vs GoPro. DJI has a better value combo for about the same price as GoPro, DJI combo gives user 3 batteries+charger+selfie stick. The extra batteries will allow recording for a long time with each battery provide continue recording at 1080 60fps last about 50minutes from my experience. DJI provides a better true color than GoPro and has a better wide angle fish eye effect rendering. I haven't had a chance to test the extreme cold condition yet, but so far I like DJI more and I use GoPro 8 I had as my backup recorder. Knock off a star due to DJI Action 4 still gets pretty hot during continues recording.

detailedReviews 2: content: Image Quality:Exceptional
Performance:Great as advertised
Second purchase from DJI Official Store and I'm really impressed by their efforts in delivering your order safely and secured. Kudos!!!
Here is my unbiased review after 2 weeks of usage:
Build Quality: Solid, rugged and lightweight
- DJI hold up their promise and quality assurance on their action camera lineup, ensuring you have the best experience in video and photo shooting wherever you are. I tested out in rainy, hot sunny days and it is still working perfectly fine. While content creators do recommend buying a third party metal cage to further enhance protection, but that is an optional choice. Occasionally I dropped my DJI Action 4 on cemented ground and asphalt by accident, it works just as fine right after picking up.
Camera & Video Experience:
Exceptional, but with a shortcoming.
- With the release of Rocksteady+™ and HorizonSteady™ on DJI Action 4, I hope they implement SubjectTracking to DJI Action 4 as well, but that would make DJI Action 5 Pro becoming less prominent.
I like both RS+ and HS(360°), but specifically I find RS and HB(45°) are more than enough for my daily needs. Personally I do videography in school for stage performance and sport field. These features made my video buttery smooth and I get to do a little cinematic trick without worrying extreme shakiness.
You can do video recording up to 4K 120fps 16:9 aspect ratio, however in 4:3 mode, you're limit till 4K 60fps. Personally, I choose 2.7K/16:9 30fps with RS mode for general uses. Each steady mode affects lens FOV zoom, for example HS zooms in the most, while choosing "Off" retains the original zoom.
Camera & Video Quality: Great, but camera mode may be good for near to mid range shots. More zoom = Less quality shot.
- Thanks to it's 1/1.3 sensor, you can expect your video in great quality. In low light condition however may proven to be a little challenging to capture good shots, though this can be compensated with a few light sources. Personally I choose D-Log M 10-bit for more ease of adjustment on post processing, thus in low light condition, I can still capture a few significant details. Don't worry about the washed out effect, you can edit your produce through DJI Mimo app.
Battery Life: 2 hours is more than enough for my needs.
- With the latest software update, you can swap in DJI Action 5 Pro battery for DJI Action 4. Although there are third party companies which offer high mAh battery volume, but I prefer using in-house battery for warranty assurance.
Of course, battery depletion highly depends on your usage. Higher resolution recording drains battery faster. In one of my uses, (2.7K/16:9, RS, 30fps, non-continuous recording, at most 8 mins duration for 2hr30mins ) battery drops from 98% to 74% under A/C general hall. Device got warm after yet it is still ok to hold on. No stuttering frames.
Miscellaneous
- You get a few essential accessories for general use in this package. Unless you want the extension rod and extra batteries, go for the Adventure Combo.
- Adhesive base mount adapter is ok for helmet or caps but I wish DJI includes another 1/4 screw base mount adapter.
- The plastic housing may be good enough for general protection, but it blocks the battery+microsd slot compartment. Hopefully DJI will implement a better housing case in their future models.
Overall, DJI Osmo Action 4 is great for beginners and content creators who want portability and the best bang of their bucks.

detailedReviews 3: content: I used to have an adventure camera from a well-respected manufacturer that suffered failure due to water intrusion. So, I flirted with owning a few cheap adventure cameras that I would not be so upset about losing if things went awry. Plus, for a fraction of the cost of the industry leading camera that was now out of action, I could buy many cheap action cameras. Well, those cheap cameras don’t really deliver the features or quality in audio or video that we’ve all come to expect, or need. So, enter the DJI Osmo Action 4 4K Action-Adventure Bundle. DJI, the popular drone manufacturer based in China, has a great deal of experience with quality 4k cameras in their drones, as well as previous models of action cameras, so let’s see how they’re doing with creating their latest generation of standalone action camera systems. Keep in mind that although owning dozens of cameras over the years, I don’t consider myself an expert in photography by any means.
In considering the Osmo Action 4 series, we should weigh all the options, as in selecting the right set of accessories for this camera in the form of bundles that may save you some money or add versatility. There are five combos targeted towards different users; Adventure, Standard, Diving, Road Cycling, and Surfing. You can also add individual accessories to any of these bundles to achieve some of the other bundle’s capabilities.
The package reviewed today is the Adventure Bundle. It is the priciest, but includes a really good selection of accessories that will be useful to most users. To start, this bundle comes with three batteries and a case to charge and coddle them. This is very useful for recording during those all-day adventures that would mostly be missed with the use of only one battery that would limit you to a purported maximum of about 150 minutes of use. Other items included in the bundle are two locking screws, anti-slip pads, a protective frame that can be rapidly positioned to either horizontal or vertical orientation, an action lens hood, a short type C to type C USB cable, a curved adhesive base, a quick release adapter mount, a 1.5-meter maximum adjustable extension rod, and a mini quick-release adapter mount.
After charging the batteries and installing one of them in the camera, as well as adding a memory card, (By the way, this model now has a higher capacity memory card capability of 512 GB.) I was greeted with a warning that there would only be 5 uses of the camera allowed before software on a phone would need to be activated/registered to continue using the camera. The software is called DJI Mimo that is available on both Apple and Android systems. Upon review of the software agreement that is as egregious as most, advising of privacy incursions, the use of your private information, binding arbitration, and the usual lawyer lullabies, I reluctantly signed. What makes this agreement different from perhaps domestically controlled/designed products, is that there is the possibility of the government of China gaining access to the use of your data from DJI if they request it, as per China’s current laws. Depending on your employer/use, you may be subject to restrictions regarding this company’s product/software being installed on business phones, etc. There is still controversy regarding the use of DJI Drones for government use, but as far as I can see, cameras do not currently share these restrictions despite their similar collection of exact geo-positioning information.
With all that said, after jumping through all the legal hula hoops, granting permissions from here to eternity, creating a DJI account, and filling out a survey of what type of user and preferences I am/have, I could finally use the camera! Why does it need to be so difficult?
Getting to the goody features of this combo, we have a camera with a maximum resolution of 4k, and selectable up to 120 fps that also has up to 4x zoom capability, an ultra-wide field of view selection of 155 degrees or a de-warped standard view selectable in 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios. There are color touch- screens on each of two sides and magnetic/mechanical latches to quickly switch between vertical or horizontal orientations with the use of either of the two quick release mounts included. The camera is capable of withstanding a depth of 18 meters submersion without an external protective case, but with numerous small print caveats. A more protective case with deeper dive capabilities is also available.
An additional design attribute is that the mounting hardware is mostly compatible with other manufacturers making similar products, so some previously-owned accessories can be repurposed/shared for use with the Osmo Action 4. Another aspect to keep in mind, is that when there is a battery in the camera, it is subject to slowly draining as it awaits use. So, take the battery out when not in imminent use, for maximum use per charge.
The manufacturer has a number of other technological claims for this device such as the use of a 1/1.3 inch sensor that they credit for the remarkably good, low-light imaging that this device delivers, as well as just generally good-looking video. They also have an option for either normal, or a 10-bit processing proprietary and somewhat controversial color space they call D-Log M for up to one billion possible colors that theoretically allows for more flexible post-production processing and more dynamic color. Unfortunately, it seems not too well understood outside of DJI how to best utilize this extra ability. Look on the DJI forum for additional information using look up tables (LUT) with this color space.
Regarding stability, there are several options to keep things on the straight, steady and wide when the world is getting narrow and rapid. You gotta love the Rocksteady, Rocksteady Plus, and Horizon Balancing monikers/features that they use to describe keeping a shaky, unbalanced video world from looking too much like the reality experienced. Also, when your butt needs to land softly on butter, their frame rate options, in conjunction with the ultra-high-definition slow-motion, will do the job admirably.
In addition to sensing the need for underwater color correction and applying it, the camera will also enable you to select from five, quick-access custom presets, that you can store, consisting of commonly used selections like resolution, frame rate, stability settings, and light sensitivity that can be accessed from either toggling through the side quick switch button or with a voice prompt.
Charging of the batteries can be achieved quickly in only about 18 minutes for approximately 80% of a charge. Fortunately, with the 3-bay bassinet of batteries, you can charge them all simultaneously to get some lengthy power for your next impending session. If the session is outdoors in the cold or inside a freezer, those batteries are tough enough to still function at -4 degrees Fahrenheit and still record your time-lapse frozen popsicle experiment or maybe skiing, you choose.
Some other clever tricks are a selfie stick removal function that will have everyone wondering why one of your arms is so stiff while making cool videos that will be hard to figure out how the shot was made. There’s a pre-recording function you can enable that will activate a tiny time machine (kind of) that goes back a minute, so you can capture the start of something that you had no idea was probably going to happen a minute ago. You can also highlight video with editing cues using the quick switch button or the optional Bluetooth remote controller while recording or add markers in playback mode to help locate editing locations later. There’s also another element to the optional Bluetooth controller called Sports Track that will superimpose relative environmental and physical aspects from GPS onto the video for use in recording outdoor adventures.
Regarding audio recording, there are three microphones on the camera used to attempt to capture a semblance of direction as in stereo, but due to the close proximity of the microphones, I wouldn’t expect it to result in a very broad sound stage. There is some degree of wind noise reduction, but in my experience, not enough to eliminate it as much as you would probably like. Optionally, there are wireless microphones sold by DJI (two mics max) that are compatible with this camera, that have a whopping 250-meter range. If you want to go with a wired microphone(s), you can use an optional USB-C to 3.5mm adapter cable sold at the DJI online store.
On a more ambitious track, there are also Wi-Fi livestreaming and timecode sync capabilities for those multicamera shoots or assemblage of shots in editing. The available Lightcut App software is capable of all kinds of AI-aided editing goodies including the use of available templates and suggested automated shot sequences.
The DJI Osmo Action 4 is obviously a very powerful and technologically complex device capable of some very high-quality output. In my use so far with the camera, I feel like I have barely scratched the surface of all of these features. I can definitely confirm that the camera has very good quality output with a variety of resolutions and frame rates. One of the big advantages this camera has, is the low-light video quality. It’s very good. The fact that the accessories utilize the same mounting format as many other cameras is really helpful, as it may allow a number of situations to be recorded without having to order/run out and get additional accessories. My main use of action cameras is on vacations and doing activities that are typically new to me or my family. So, I look forward to learning even more about this camera then. My opinion is that this camera is a bit overpriced compared to some others, but has some advantages in low light sensitivity and software flexibility. In my opinion, it’s a very good product, but its going to take some time to learn and use all of its capabilities.

detailedReviews 4: content: Returned this camera. Found that you CANNOT user this camera unless you register it using the DJI Mimo app, which was removed from Google Play because it does not comply with security standards (presumably) and needs to be downloaded directly from DJI and sideloaded onto your phone, bypassing Google Play and any security protections. Do a Google search for DJI mimo sideload security risk and you'll learn a lot. My first hit reads ...DJI Mimo may collect more data than it needs and that in-app updates are a security-risk...Google has a good reason for not allowing in-app updates on their storefront and users should not allow these apps on their phones. My next summary reads US government has banned DJI from all government phones for security reasons. Side-loading an Android app is dangerous under ANY circumstances, but particularly where the country of origin is engaged on ongoing spy activities against the US.
Redditt has tons of posts on this. One such posts points to an analysis of the app breakdown for DJI Go, which uses similar access and toolkits, found on the synacktiv web site. Check the section of Shady features
Once you install this DJI app, which can auto-update, you're giving the app permissions to basically download and install anything they want on your phone...and from a company whose apps are well known to phone home often and with YOUR private data.

detailedReviews 5: content: There are many things to like about this camera and a couple of things that could be improved.
- The video quality is great. Everytime I pull a clip from the camera, someone will point out how clear the image is even at 1080p.
- This camera has good battery life. I'm able to record at 1080p 60fps for about 100mins on one battery.
- The controls on the camera are intuitive. Settings are easy to change without having to read the manual.
- The app is easy to navigate and offers you a way to trim a video to save an important clip. I do have an issue with needing to sideload it on Android. Why can't it be on the Play Store?
- The mounting clip is much more convenient than GoPro's. You can use all of your existing GoPro accessories but the DJI's mount is attached with clips and magnets, making it easier to remove the camera and mount it on another accessory.
- The included case provides some protection and is easy to remove when you need to access the battery. You can still get to the USB port of the camera without removing it.
- The adventure bundle accessories are actually useful. a charging case and 3 batteries means I can record for a while before needing to recharge and I can charge 2 of the batteries while using the camera.
This package is very good for the price. I've had this camera on the wishlist for a while but was waiting for the right price. I bought a GoPro Hero 11 at a discount as well a few months prior and the similarities are what makes them easy to use. We use both of them as dashcams when riding bicycles. It works great.

detailedReviews 6: content: I have been using Gopros for a good long while, was using the 9 and its served me well except in low light. I don't mean almost dark, I mean in forest canopy on a cloudy day low light mountain biking. Anyways, I figured it was time to upgrade and the Osmo seemed to really check more boxes than the Hero 13.
I had read that it can be difficult with Android, impossible is more like it. Side loading apparently has gotten much more difficult with Android, and I don't like the idea of bypassing security anyways, but I tried 2 different Androids and couldn't get it to work. Reading up I didn't find a lot of help, but I did read where someone noticed it was loading the software from Russia....yeah, not a fan of that. Also the size of the download was unreal, around 1GB, no way is there any good reason for that other than bloatware.
I did get it activated through my sons iphone and the camera worked fine, but I didn't notice any great improvement from my Hero 9 other than maybe low light, and not sure the stabilization was even as good. I did get the 13 and compared video, I think the 13 looks better overall, but didn't put it through a hard test. BH took the camera back no problem, thanks guys.

detailedReviews 7: content: This is now my 4th action cam, although my 1st made by DJI. These cams are mainly used for my online videos I create that are automotive and drag racing related. While I will switch between cams depending on my need, often times, such as during actual races, I'll use every single one of my cams in various spots to get multiple angles. One of the most common views you'll see in my vids though is a POV perspective while mounted on my helmet or head strap.
With that, we may as well dive right in to video quality as that's really the main feature that truly matters with any cam. Being there hasn't been any race events happening in the short time since I got this DJI Action Cam, I haven't had a chance to try it out on a racetrack, but that doesn't mean I didn't have any content that needed to be filmed. All the footage I've taken thus far has been from a POV perspective, either while driving or just in my garage working on my car. And I have to say, I'm honestly impressed with the quality of video I've been getting so far.
Video is nice and smooth in either scenario, and the stabilization, which I almost always use, has been working perfectly. All of my surroundings while driving are coming across perfectly clear, and I'm not having any issue with light differences between my darker interior where the camera is obviously recording from, to the bright and sunny exterior. I've had cases with the outside getting washed out and haven't really experienced that at all with this camera. Then while in my garage, and especially under my hood where the lighting can get dark, it captures everything in perfect detail. It's tough to say which of my action cams has a better picture as this and my other latest Black action cam are both comparable, but I will say the video on this DJI seems to be a bit sharper with the colors just popping a bit more. I try to keep similar settings between my cams as well, although there's still a lot I need to try out with this DJI.
One issue I regularly come across with action cams is overheating. It's a battle I'm constantly fighting, especially considering all of the real-time processing these cameras are doing. While this DJI doesn't eliminate that problem, it at least acknowledges it and when you try to put it at 4K/120, it tells you right up front that you're going to have a short recording window, just 9 minutes at 77 degrees at that setting. Of course the less demanding your settings the less of a problem that is, but it's definitely something to be aware of with these action cams.
Another thing that affects recording time is battery life. The camera can't record no matter what the settings are at if there's no power. How long the battery lasts will also depend on how demanding the settings are that you're recording at, but so far it's been comparable to my other action cams and lasts plenty long enough for me to get all the footage I need in between recharges, or battery swaps. And speaking of swaps, I absolutely LOVE the fact that this DJI adventure combo comes with not just 3 batteries, but also a charging case that holds all 3 batteries! Just the fact that it comes in the package instead of forcing you to buy more separately is a huge plus. The case is pretty nice too. It's slim and compact and travels really well.
What doesn't travel well is all the accessories and hardware that comes with this kit. With all the thought and usefulness of everything that was included in this adventure combo, it doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't include some sort of carry case for it all as well. We'll get back to the accessories later though.
In order to use this cam you need to set it up, and this is where we come to one of my negatives. First time I used this cam I was in a rush after getting it, and barely had time to unbox it before heading out the door. Turning it on you come across a message that you need the DJI app to 'activate' the camera, although it does let you skip this part. Skipping it, you get right to the full functionality of the camera, but, you can only skip this 'activation' 5 times. After that 5th time, the camera locks itself at that screen and becomes a small brick until you download and sign into the app and 'activate' the camera. I put quotes around the word 'activate' because there's really not anything being 'activated', the cam worked perfectly fine without it. Personally, I never use most of the features that come with these types of apps. I just have too many different cameras and equipment with all the content I create, that I need a different kind of software to manage it all. Plus I find it much faster and easier to transfer files directly by moving the sd card. In reality, for me at least, the only thing I would use the app for are firmware updates. Even then, there's no reason to brick the camera if you can't or don't 'activate' it with a forced app. Rant aside, the app does at least provide some good tips on using the camera and there was in fact a firmware update already available. Then another minor issue popped up, as soon as I updated the firmware, all of the settings I had configured were gone and I had to redo them all.
Now onto the accessories. Besides the camera and batteries with case mentioned earlier, this adventure combo also comes with a stick-on helmet mount, mount hardware, case, extension rod, and a lens hood with some nifty mount pads. First thing you're almost definitely going to use is some kind of mount. Which brings me to another thing that I love with this cam, the quick release magnetic mount! For one, it's compatible with all my other action cam accessories. This is a huge deal as I have already have suction cups and other various straps and mounts for my other action cams and I'd hate to spend more money to buy them over again. The other thing though, which is just as big of a deal for me, is the ingenious design of the quick release mount and how easy and fast it allows me to remove and attach the camera. I can't tell you how often I'm rushing to screw on my other action cams between races or when I need to re-position something. This quick release mount is going save me a lot of time and aggravation when I'm time constrained and can't afford to waste time fidgeting with a camera.
As for the rest of the accessories, the body case is pretty nifty too in that it lets you mount the camera on its side, but also isn't required to be used. Last but not least we have the extension rod/handle. When I first opened it up, it felt like that never-ending handkerchief magic trick, as I started extending the handle, more and more just kept sliding out. I was legitimately surprised by it, so much so I had to grab my tape measure and found it extended a full 48"!
There's not much more to talk about with this DJI Action 4 Adventure Combo. It has all the features I would want and need in an action cam and most importantly gives me great quality footage to use in my videos. The activation requirement through the app is really my only big issue, but as it has nothing to do with the functionality of the camera, I can't really take away from my rating for it, even though I'd like to. Overall it's a great camera and I can't wait to get it out onto a racetrack and get some more great footage with it.

detailedReviews 8: content: The DJI Osmo Action 4 4k camera continues DJI's reputation of creating high quality products that offer a great value at a good price. The adventure bundle is quite impressive upon inboxing as you receive 3 batteries with a charging case that can charge and store the batteries. The package also includes a action horizontal-vertical protective frame, a quick release adapter mount a mini quick release adapter mount, a action curved adhesive base (can be attached to a helmet), 2 locking screws, a type C usb cable, a extension rod that can be mounted to a tripod, a action lebs hood and a anti slip pad. You will also find some paperwork as well as a DJI sticker.
The set-up process is quite easy if you follow the on screen directions. You are required to download the DJI app in order to activate the camera however that is not a problem because the app allows you to remotely control the camera. Once the SD card is installed you are ready to go.
The Osmo action 4 has quite a large sensor that allows you to capture footage at a high quality regardless of the lighting. The low light imaging is quite impressive as the footage was very clear when I took the camera out an early morning bike ride and I assumed the footage would not be great because of lighting but I was glad to be proven wrong. The color performance of the footage also allows you to keep great quality upon editing. If you are into snowboarding or skiing the camera is able to with stand temperatures up to -4 F while allowing you to record for 150 minutes. The camera records at 120 frames per second with an ultra wide 155 degree field of view. The stabilization is also unmatched as the footage was smooth even when running with the camera. DJI also indicated the stability control works even with full 360 degree rotations. You have the ability to record time lapse or slow motion videos as well as take pictures. The camera itself has a viewfinder on the front and a touch screen on the back. You also have the ability to view the camera on the app via your phone.
I am excited to continue using the DJI Osmo Action Cam 4K as DJI has hit it out of the park with another great product. I'm excited to continue to capture high quality footage with this camera and my DJI drone for years to come.

detailedReviews 9: content: A most excellent action camera. Since GoPro 12 is its competitor, I'll make some comparisons. The battery lasts longer, it doesn't overheat as badly as the GoPro does. In fact, I've recorded up to 75 minutes on 4K at 30 fps and the battery was at 9% and it didn't overheat. The camera itself was very hot, but it didn't shut down. The RockSteady functions performs remarkably well and the images are crisp, clear, and recorded images retain true-to-life colors better than the GoPro. The spare batteries and the charging box in the bundle comes in remarkably handy and the selfie stick is high quality. I bought it instead of the GoPro Hero 12 without hesitation, and am glad I made that choice. Some have complained that it only has a 2X zoom, but it's not that kind of camera. The lack of a strong zoom feature shouldn't bother you if you're using the camera for what it is intended for. I have bought a lot of accessories for mine and am completely satisfied with its performance in every way.

I couldn't download the app on my Samsung phone for some reason so I can't even use it? Why? detailedReviews 11: content: I would not recommend this product because of the licensing alone. They require you to have an account and this linked to it. You have 5 skips before the item becomes a brick. Even if you attempt to hook this up on an android it is a pain. With a pixel 9 pro, you'll get confused. You have to give it full permissions to scrape your photos before the device will show up to be paired. If you don't you cannot pair this.. and remember you have 5 restarts before it bricks. Recording at 4k causes this thing to overheat, defeating the entire point. The case and extra batteries was nice but the whole licensing agreement is a crime. You are simply renting access and if DJI ever shuts of their site or support for this device, you'll get a brick. So if you are like me and want to use your items into the ground long after their support dirs, this isn't the item for you.

title: I would not recommend this product because of...
detailedReviews 12: content: REVIEW:
EASE OF USE: After the initial DJI MIMO app download and connectivity, this camera is very simple to use, with excellent default settings, for an immediate out-of-box experience. And for more advance users, extreme flexibility for numerous outdoor settings in most every lighting conditions. Bottom line: The DJI Osmo Action 4 camera is a GPH10B killer if you do not require 5k recording.
BUNDLE: I believe the 3 batteries in its dedicated charging base was a very smart move. Easy to store and fairly quick to charge depending on your charger (not included). The 1.5m telescoping rod can be used beyond just taking selfies; think monopod use. Plus, the assortment of mounting attachments covers the basics. Including the camera protective outer ring for additional water proofing, and/or side mounting, is commendable. Nevertheless, I do wish this bundle included a quick-release adapter, with standard ¼” screw mounting capability, for my existing accessories.
CAMERA: The dual (front and rear) touch screens are quite easy to navigate once you have watched a short tutorial if you are new to DJI’s cameras. Top of the camera has a quick press button to immediately begin recording when powered off, very sweet indeed. The doors for the battery and USB-C connection may be a tad stiff to open (being waterproof) until you get the hang of them. And let’s not forget the unique combo magnetic with dual side clips attachment system. So easy to use.
VIDEOS: I am still amazed at the overall quality of the videos this Osmo Camera is able to capture in such a small sized housing. DJI really stepped up their game using the new 1/1.3 sensor. Excellent in low lighting conditions. Add in the onboard multiple image stabilization options (RockSteady, RockSteady+, HorizonSteady, etc) and there is no need for an addon gimble, at least for my intended use.
PICTURES: Now using an “action video camera” for still pictures is always an afterthought. Nice to have the added reflexibility to take a quick-pic if you already have the camera in hand. But these will never compete with a mirrorless, DSLR, or even some current phone cameras that all can take superior stills.
ANDROID APP ISSUE: (iOS users skip down to “RATING”.) The DJI MIMO application (app) for the OSMO Action 4 camera, that is required for activation, firmware upgrades and additional functionality, is not available through the Google Play store. After reaching out to DJI Support, one must download directly from their DJI web site and “sideload” the APK directly to your Android phone. My Google phone defaults to disabling all “side loading APK” installations as a safety feature. This is for protecting a user from installing applications from sources not cleared by the Google App Store and that have not passed Google’s security analysis.
Now I was able to work around this issue by using my wife’s iPad and downloading the DJI MIMO app that is available through the Apple iOS Store. That allowed me to register the Osmo, update the firmware, and view a basic tutorial. Now I will need to search around the house for one of our older retired Android phones, devoid of personal information, and dedicate for only DJI MIMO Osmo camera use for the added functionality. Bottom line: I believe users should not be required to sideload an APK just to use a vendor’s product. But hey, that’s me.
RATING: If you are an iPhone user, a solid 5-Star rating, and I would recommend. If you are an Android user, a 3-Star rating due to DJI’s choosing to bypass the Google App store for their applications, and I would not recommend. Nevertheless, I will average the ratings to a 4-Star.

title: REVIEW: EASE OF USE: After the initial DJI...
detailedReviews 13: content: Great price, especially getting three batteries in the charging case (didn’t realise so I’d ordered two extra from DJI, thinking I’d only get one for the camera)
Easy to set up and to use, even as my first foray into action camera’s.
I use this attached to the chin of my motorcycle crash helmet to document rides/trips.
Has WAY more options than I need in my limited experience using these but after all my research it, for me, was the best option out of all the options of cameras out there.
I have had no problems with overheating as is mentioned in a few reviews, but then I’m travelling at speed and the weather here in the U.K. is quite cool at the moment, the real test will be over in Germany & Austria in July/August for that.
Battery is good but could be better and a 128Gb micros SD card only holds about a couple of hours footage at the lowest settings and if you’re doing 4K at 120fps then about 20 mins or so (so more and larger capacity SD cards on the horizon). The pack I bought had the camera, a protective cage for it, a selfie stick type apparatus, the battery charge case (this does NOT charge the batteries itself, as I thought when I purchased hence the missing star) but enables you to plug in via a cable to a power bank or a mains plug to charge all three batteries at once, once charged you could then use the fully charged batteries to put some charge into a phone or something else.
Reliability is good so far after probably a couple hundred miles of use (not on all the time obviously) you can have the charge lead into the camera so I COULD then leave on until the SD card was full or it overheated and turned off but I just turn it on when I think it’ll be interesting.
But time will truly tell about reliability (again hence the missing star from rating)
Hope this ramble helps.

detailedReviews 14: content: The DJI Osmo Action 4 is the latest iteration of DJI’s popular line of action cameras. And after using it while hiking and doing some light outdoor fun activities with my dogs, I’m really glad I upgraded from my 4 year old action cam. If you are in the market for a no-nonsense dependable rugged camera, this should be one of the top choices. And having the “Adventure bundle” I believe is a must-have.
The design and build is what’s expected from DJI. The camera, frame, mounting accessories everything feels premium. As typical, the camera is waterproof up to 60ft (18m) without a case (which can be increased to a whooping 186ft (60m) using a separate case) so that suited me for all the diving activity I ever plan to do. The camera came with 3 batteries, a battery case (which also doubles as an USB power bank when in a pinch), 2 quick-release magnetic adapter mount, a curved adhesive base, a protective frame, and finally a 5-ft (1.5m) extension rod. Among them, I believe the extension rod, 2 batteries and the battery case are not included in the standard bundle. More importantly, these accessories are compatible with at least the Action 3 camera. As for me, this is my first DJI action cam (all my previous “heroic” activities are captured by the other one).
Since I upgraded from a fairly old camera, I found DJI Action 4 to be easy to get used to. Most of the things are well thought out and pretty intuitive. I love the magnetic mount system - it’s something that once I got used to I had difficulty getting back to my old gear (no more “thumb-screwing” whenever I needed to move the camera). And for vertical capture, the protective case comes with another magnetic mount position. At first I was a bit afraid how it’ll hold up over rough terrains when I was capturing some off road driving, but once I figured out how to make a secure latch/lock there was very little wobble. And even when it did vibrate a bit, the Rocksteady+ came into view (albeit sacrificing some FOV angle).
Next comes the batteries which charge up really really fast (when of course I had a fast charging brick at hand - unfortunately no charger is included, only a USB-C cable) - this is a game-changer for me. I was getting 2 hours+ when using Rocksteady+ with 4k30, and could charge up in a jiffy when I forgot to take my battery case (DJI claims 80% in 18 minutes, and I concur). Furthermore, DJI claims the camera is deep-freeze resistant - I haven’t been able to test that out yet, but hopefully it’ll hold up in the upcoming skiing season.
Next comes the camera designs - in particular the dual touchscreens. My previous camera had a monochrome LCD-type front display which was handy, but now with the full color touchscreen, a whole new way to shoot and interact with the video opened up. Gone are the days when I had to dismount the camera from its base to change some video settings. Now most of that I can do from either one of those touchscreens. Speaking of interactions, the menu and controls are well laid out - it was a new system for me but I was able to figure out most of the stuff after a few shoots (and for more in depth the DJI Mimo app has a lot of helpful tutorials, and finally you have YouTube 🙂).
From a video quality perspective, I think it’s at the same level as it’s competitor. DJI has a distinct “flavor” to it which I think is like an acquired taste. I saw the difference in color and exposure immediately when I looked at my first footage, but after a while, and with some customization I have found a good blend. I don’t do a lot of post-processing color correction, but for interested people there’s the 10-bit D-log M color mode that opens up a ton of possibilities. Be sure to check some example videos etc. from creators to check if that suits your taste.
Now for my gripes: the companion DJI Mimo app is not available in Google Play (at least when I’m writing this). I had to sideload the app by downloading an .apk file from the DJI webpage, which raised my eyebrows. I’m not sure what’s the story here, but that’s what I found (it’s available in the Apple App Store though). I was very skeptical, since it opens up a vulnerability in Android, and I consulted a number of forums to confirm. Once it’s installed and set up it has been smooth sailing.
The second issue is - this annoying notification that pops up to activate the camera with the Mimo app. And of course for the first day it was a major pain in the back, because the app could not be found in the Google Play Store. It left a sour taste in my mouth.
All in all, I’m really enjoying using the camera. I have already filmed a few hikes I’ve done, and mounted it on my St Berdoodle to capture some very funny videos in the Oregon coast. It stood up well and did its job with ease. Highly recommended.

title: The DJI Osmo Action 4 is the latest...
detailedReviews 15: content: This is my second Action 4. I got the Action 4 adventure kit Christmas and when the camera went on sale, I bought another. I do some vlogging, YouTube videos and record live music with mine, as well as general use. I especially like the time lapse video function.
Yes, the newer Action 5 is better, but for the on sale price, you can't beat the 4.
The picture quality of the video is clean and sharp. Not bad in low light either. Especially in 4k at 60hz. They vivid color setting give the right amount of punch. There's also a manual mode for video and photos.
Built quality feels solid. I especially like the locking magnetic mount that compatible with gopro accessories. Up to a point. However, there's no standard tripod mount on any clip on mount that attaches to it. There's one on the bottom of the 1.5 meter stick that comes with the adventure kit.
It plays well with the DJI Mimo app on my iPad. However, trying to transfer files directly from the camera to my windows 11 pc has problems. The camera locks up in about a minute after it connects
Audio quality of very good too. Not quite as good as my Canon V10, but that camera has larger mics and costs more too.
The Action 5 has a high pixel sensor chip. 40mp I think. It might be a better choice if you plan on taking a lot of stills. Video wise, no huge difference. DJI's Rock Steady image stabilization has settings and can be turned off.
Conclusion: Easy recommendation if on sale. If not, I think the Action 5 is $50 more. I'd get it instead. I'll get an Action 5 eventually. Can't go wrong with DJI. I've got a Mavic 3 Classic and it's never let me down and it's picture quality is outstanding.

title: This is my second Action 4. I got...
detailedReviews 16: content: Leave it to DJI to consistently listen to their customers feedback and continue to produce products that are cutting edge. As a long time DJI user with several of their products, I am always happy and excited to get the teaser emails from them suggesting a new product is right around the corner. The Action 4 was tops on my list due to the larger sensor size and boasting better low light results. Low light capability being the only reason I have never been a huge fan of action cameras before. Is the low light capability perfect? Not by any means. Is it better than my previous action cameras? Without a doubt. This camera utilizes a backside illuminated stacked 1/1.3 inch sensor. The same one that is found in a few of the newer DJI drones, including the fantastic Air 3. In a nutshell, having a stacked sensor allows different tasks to be performed by each layer, as opposed to all computing power being done by one sensor, therefore creating a more efficient and capable sensor for today's 4K high frame rate demands, as well as in low light scenarios. The grain in shadows is very controlled and as someone who is a stickler for grainy footage, I haven’t seen any action camera perform in low light like the DJI Action 4. You can now even shoot at 4K 120fps, which is crazy! Couple that with the fact that you can shoot in 10 bit D-Log M color space and you have a modern action camera that can produce stunning results. If you don’t want to edit or color grade your footage later in post, you certainly do not have to, as the standard color space and shooting modes also produce rich colors and beautiful footage that can easily be shared immediately on social media without the need for any extra editing. If you like to edit your videos in post, or match the footage up with another DJI product, such as one of their stellar drones, shooting in the native 10 bit D-Log M color space will give you more dynamic range to play with in both highlights and shadows.
Next up would be the mounting system and accessories. All excellent. I absolutely love the magnetic quick release clips. This enables you to shoot in landscape or portrait mode quickly and easily. To make it even better, the mounts are compatible with the other guys mounting system and accessories, so if you have any of those laying around, you are good to go. Bonus! The kit I received came with a protective frame that is also compatible with landscape and portrait shooting. It is very quick and easy to install and adds just another layer for peace of mind if you were to bump or drop the camera. I also received the extension pole and the three-battery case, which houses and charges all of the batteries at once. More excellent design choices by DJI. The extension pole is quick release and there is no need to fumble around with any tension screws. You simply pull it open and push it shut. It feels stout and well made, so I can foresee it lasting a very long time. On the bottom of the extension pole they have thankfully included standard tripod mount threads. This will most certainly come in handy if you choose to shoot any stationary time lapse videos. I do however wish that DJI would have included small tripod legs with this kit. Thankfully I had some third party 4.5” aluminum tripod legs that work perfectly. I also had a third party (action camera) three axis gimbal laying around, so I charged it up and tested it with some amazing results. Using the internal stabilization on a gimbal makes for some buttery smooth footage. If you go a step further and shoot at 60fps or higher, it is literally so smooth you can get cinematic looking footage with this camera easily. That said, you do not need a gimbal to get smooth footage. The internal stabilization modes, including HorizonSteady and RockSteady 3.0, are simply the best I have tried to date.
The dual touch screens are also very responsive and look absolutely stunning, even outdoors on bright sunny days. All of the swipe features are available on both sides of the camera making it very easy to manipulate in various situations.
The stereo microphones that are built into this camera can produce great results. The sound is crisp and clear and there is even a built-in wind filter.
This camera even has a front facing color temperature sensor that makes your recorded footage match more clearly what you are seeing as you are shooting. As a photo and video geek by trade, I highly appreciate the addition of this useful feature. It essentially makes editing your videos that much quicker since you don’t need to worry about white balance as much. This also makes shooting in standard color modes more precise color wise.
With its stellar performance and picture quality in both photo and video modes, plus a host of accessories to match your style of shooting, including ND filters, mounting options, and so much more, the DJI Action 4 is capable of being a camera you can and should take everywhere. It is perfect for anyone who wants to capture amazing footage of their adventures. For all of these reasons, I can highly recommend this brilliant camera.

title: Leave it to DJI to consistently listen to...
detailedReviews 17: content: I've been using a cheap action camera off and on for several years and was tired of the usability hassles. Deciding to upgrade to GoPro, I found one on sale. But in the store, Allie showed me the DJI. Usability is great with touch screen, and the battery life is also great with three large batteries and a charging case. Wearing in a headband, the start-stop cues are memorable. Finally, the link-up to the app on your phone always works, and works quickly, so you can see what the camera sees.
I chose this model for front and rear screens, but frankly am not using them much. I link this to my phone and the phone is my viewfinder, then put the old cheapo on a tripod and use the integral screen to aim that. But if this were my only camera then it would be different, and I will have it on a tripod eventually.

title: I've been using a cheap action camera off...
detailedReviews 18: content: Osmo’s latest Action camera has a few upgrades from its predecessor that set it apart.
Upon opening and setting the camera up, it comes that a protective frame that helps shield it from drops and I recommend putting it on before using it. With its small size, I almost find it easier to drop! It easily fits in the palm of my hand and has a textured rugged hard plastic feel to it. When I first turned the camera on, I was prompted to scan a QR code to create an account and view a website DJI created as a start guide. I found it to have useful tips and information and helped me finish setting the camera up. After this step, I was then able to begin taking pictures and record my adventures.
This action camera comes chock-full of great features. Without trying to make it all about specs, I will limit them to this paragraph. The Action 4 has a 2.4 micrometer pixel size, f/2.8 aperture, 155 degree field of view, and 10-bit D-Log M color mode. This helps capture better pictures in dark settings, capture more color, and have a wider viewing angle. The camera can go up to 18m deep in water (about 59 feet) and can even record in -4 degree Fahrenheit weather. Lastly, it's battery can last up to 2hr 40min (depending on video resolution/quality). Using fast charging, it's replaceable battery can charge up to 80% in 18 minutes.
While this isn’t the camera to use for a personal photoshoot, it is definitely one to use for first and third person recordings. From fun nights playing hide and seek with my kiddos to biking or needing a hands free recording session to document a memory, this is an amazing camera to do so with. I have found it easier to use than my phone’s camera when at places like at the beach and can handle all of the elements my other cameras can’t. It has its different use cases and can record those fun memories that regular DSLR or phone cameras can't. While not a DSLR, it does take very clear photos and even nicer videos. I did notice its larger viewing angle does help to record wider environments up close. It can record from 1080p at 240fps up to 4K at 120fps (in 16:9 format, also can record at 2.7K at 120fps). This is especially useful to capture slow motion video. It also has video stabilization for rapid and 360 degree movement. I loved using this camera and even more when I was able to look back at the videos I recorded. The 4K video color and clarity was beautiful. (Note, it is best to use a higher quality SD card to record at 4k, I would recommend a SanDisk or Samsung SD card that writes at least at 120 MB/s with UHS-I and V30 specs). As for the audio of recordings, it was clear and precise. I found that it helped keep in focus the audio of the person using the camera versus picking up background noise.
DJI has many cool and practical accessories to help record when doing different tasks. The camera itself has magnets on the bottom and side to help keep it mounted and steady onto accessories. This was beneficial since it allows for recording in both orientations, vertically and horizontally. With each accessory, there are quick release mechanisms (magnetic adapter that snaps onto the camera and can remove it by squeezing the sides of the adapter) that help to remove the camera very easily. This helped to quickly use another accessory or put away the camera. A few accessories DJI has for the camera are a bike mount, a chest strap mount, a waterproof case for deep water diving (can reach a depth of 60 meters), a GPS Bluetooth Remote Controller (allows you to add and record location, speed, direction, elevation, and distance traveled to videos) and more. I found the additional accessories included in the adventure bundle to be very useful and have used them all. I used the extension rod the most with my family and appreciated its sturdy quality. As for the battery case and travel pack, it keeps my three batteries stored and ready to go or charge at a moment's notice. My only gripe with the battery travel pack is that it doesn’t tell you the battery’s percentage.
DJI also added cool features to help when recording. A feature called Pre-Rec (recording) allows you to pre-record a moment. You can record the start of a process for 60 seconds and instead of recording the time until something is finished (or cutting this out in post production editing), you can tap the record button again to start and then finish the video recording. This helps cut editing time and saves space on your memory cards as well. You are also able to set highlight markers on videos that can be seen from DJI Mimo’s editing app. Lastly, if you would like to use this camera to livestream, you are able to do so through the DJI Mimo app. The app connects to your camera wirelessly to stream.
Overall, this a small camera that is fit for its action camera name. Its uses are different than traditional DSLR and phone cameras and can really record fun and beautiful memories from your own perspective. This was my first action camera and can already see myself using it more often for vacations and to document personal life memories. I recommend it for anyone looking to record up-close and personal videos and photos and for those looking for a nice camera that can handle Earth's elements.

detailedReviews 19: content: 5/5 for services from Best buy
The camera is awesome for its use. It is not an overall performance camera though. For closeup shots and pictures, this camera is useless since you can't adjust the focus and the lens is a wide angle lens. But that's the point of an action camera. I believe there would be other people who had unrealistic expectations for the camera, just like I did, so if you are looking to take close up shots as well, this camera won't be for you. After using it for my recent trip, this camera is amazing for shooting landscapes and the city skyline and I am planning to use it during kayaking. It would have been nice if the accessory kit included a backpack mount. You can get that from temu for less than 5 dollars though. And the video will be grainy if you use it in low light condition

As always, DJI products never fail to amaze me with their innovation and quality. Their attention to detail and ability to push the boundaries of technology consistently capture my admiration. I've had my eye on the DJI Osmo Action 4 for a while now, as I've been eager to explore how it stacks up against its competitor, the GoPro. Both are renowned for their action cameras, but the Osmo Action 4's features—like its low-light performance, stabilization, and seamless integration with other DJI products—make it a compelling choice. I'm excited to experience firsthand how it performs and decide which brand truly reigns supreme in the action camera space.

title: Best Feature:Image and Video quality is superb Product...
detailedReviews 21: content: I don't normally write reviews of products I've only been using for a couple of weeks, but sometimes (rarely, I have to say!) there are products that are simply so fantastic that there's no doubt whatsoever about them. This is one of them.
I spent a long, long time - months - looking at the various alternatives. You'll have seen the same ones, including the "go-to" brand, of course. DJI had consistently good user reports, with the one doubt being cast about the phone software - security and the need for it to register (and use!) the device - and the lack of software for a PC. So let's consider those before getting to the interesting stuff.
I work in information security, so anything like this - especially where China is concerned - leaves me very nervous. It was nearly enough to put me off, but I'm glad it didn't. There are reasonable explanations for the software requirements, though, and both Google and Apple have now added it to their respective stores, after first declining to do so. There is some user control over what the software can do, of course. You *do* need register the device using the app - so you will at least need access to a mobile device - but I don't think there would be any reason why you couldn't just uninstall the app if you want to. Personally, I prefer to edit videos on a PC; I find faffing around with clips using my fingers less than ideal, and the functionality of a phone app is *never* going to be as good as a decent video editing program. However, it depends on you needs and preferred methods of working.
The product is not supported with a PC program. This is a shame, but of course there is plenty to choose from, and anything bundled with hardware is probably going to no better than (for example) Clipchamp, which comes installed on Win 11 anyway. Personally, I prefer something better, and use Shotcut, which is open source, and quite superb. The lack of PC software therefore isn't a factor for me.
As for the hardware, it's hard to find anything that could be improved. The video (and image) quality is, quite simply, superb - pin-sharp video that when paused looks like a high-resolution photo.
Image stabilisation is frankly amazing. I use my camera mainly for road cycling, and the look is just natural - it's only when thinking about it that one notices that there's no bounce or vibration apparent. It just seems perfect. Similarly, low light function is excellent.
Audio quality is also superb for an action cam, even without an external microphone - when cycling at 35km/h conversations can be heard very clearly indeed.
I have been using action cams for around 14 years, though this is only my third, and is my first for about eight years. They've improved a lot in that time, obviously, but one of the things that had stopped me from making more videos was what I'll describe as useability. The Action 4 is simply such a step - stride! - ahead of what I've used previously that it really just can't be compared. It's one of the things I'd picked up from other reviews, and I agree entirely. the design of the Action 4 is entirely focussed on making it user-friendly. It's quick and easy to mount and detach, so you can switch it between (for example) a selfie stick and a bike mount instantly. Recording can be started or stopped from "off" with one press. It can be started (from an "on" state) by voice activation. Video can be edited or downloaded directly on a phone app, if preferred, as well as (obviously) being copied using copy-and-paste from the SD card. Swapping batteries or cards in the field is simple. These things all combine to improve the device's "useability"; if you're new to action cams, this is going to make a massive difference to how much you enjoy using it, and how much you then *do* use it.
As you can probably sense, I'm a fan. I have every confidence that I made a good choice with this camera, and even after only a short time using it I have very few doubts about recommending it.

detailedReviews 22: content: As a DJI drone owner I was excited to get my hands on the latest DJI action camera release, the Osmo Action 4. The exact kit is the Osmo Action 4 Adventure Package which includes the Action 4 camera, 3 x batteries, battery case and 1.5m extension rod, protective frame, 2 x magnetic quick mounts and cable. The additional batteries, charging case and extension rod are really great additions for anyone looking to take the Action 4 out and use it for many hours or days even.
Setup – The Acton 4 camera itself is pretty much ready to go out of the box, but before first use it’s recommended to download the DJI Mimo app from the app store and connect the camera through the app. There was a firmware update available for the camera during setup.
Operation – Having owned a few different action cameras over the years, using the Osmo Action 4 is very similar in overall design and button layout. This makes using the camera very easy right from the start. There are endless settings to work through as you use the camera in different environments and whether shooting video of pictures. For me, the camera is used for shooting videos almost 100% of the time, but the camera is not to be overlooked. One of the first differences noticed on the Action 4 is the updated 1/1.3-Inch Sensor. The new sensor has elevated the already fantastic output to even higher levels, especially in low-light shooting environments. The difference is noticeable compared to older action cameras. The Action 4 also supports filming in several formats all the way up to 4K/120fps. The output is jaw-dropping to say the least! DJI has also incorporated the new D-Log M Color Performance for easier color adjustment in post-processing. Being a bit new to the post-processing game, I’ll take any advantage possible to make things easier!
As I began working through the wide range of possible settings, DJI’s inclusion of setting up 5 profiles is also a nice touch. You can switch between the profiles depending on what type of action or filming is taking place…nice touch DJI.
Features – Some of the physical features that stand out on the Action 4 are the magnetic quick release connectors, the dual touchscreens, long battery life, waterproof up to 18m and the ability to switch quickly between landscape and native vertical/portrait mode to support social media formats. The aspect ratio can also be quickly changed from 16:9 to 4:3 which can make for better output in portrait mode. I love the magnetic quick release connectors; it just makes daily use so easy with this camera. The dual touchscreens setup makes for easy use of the camera when being used for action or when livestreaming or even when used as a web cam. The screens are responsive, and the locking feature is great for curbing any accidental stops/starts while filming. There’s also voice command support for filming and taking photos. As a mountain biker and snowboarder, videos tend to be shaky at best. With DJI’s RockSteady and HorizonSteady video stabilization options, video is smoothed out and all the jitters and bumps are removed. The final output is a smooth and crisp video!
The Adventure Pack – This combo comes with the Action 4 camera and the addition of 2 extra batteries for a total of 3 batteries, a 3-battery charging case and a 1.5m/5’ extension pole. So far battery life has been great while using the Action 4 in Fall conditions here in New England. I do snowboard, so I’m excited to see if DJI’s “deep freeze resistant” batteries stand up to Winter conditions when they arrive. For mountain biking I have carried the 2 additional batteries and have had to use a backup only once, but the peace of mind of having 3 batteries at the ready is a plus. And when it’s time to charge the batteries, throw them in the battery case and charge them simultaneously for the next adventure! The extension rod is long, really long at 5’ and with DJI’s InvisiStick software, the extension pole can be removed from video.
Mimo App – DJI’s Mimo app is like an extension of the Action 4 camera. The camera can be controlled through your phone and provides a live feed of footage being shot. There are also options for updated the Action 4 camera, sharing videos and photos and some editing features as well.
Pros:
- Easy to set up and start filming
- Option to film up to 4K/120fps in video mode
- HorizonSteady and RockSteady image stabilization
- Battery life is better than any action camera I’ve owned previously
- Updated 1/1.3-Inch Sensor provides incredible low-light footage
- Custom modes – 5 available modes to customize
- Magnetic quick-change connectors
- Adventure Pack is a great kit to get started
Cons:
- When using the frame protector, the battery/SD card door is covered
- Overall color profile is on the darker side of the spectrum
Overall, the DJI Osmo Action 4 has been the most advanced action camera I’ve ever owned. DJI has done an amazing job of producing a powerhouse of a camera in a small manageable package! I would certainly recommend this camera for anyone looking getting into the action camera market or even for more seasoned users looking for an updated offering.

Best Feature:Video Quality
Excellent video and image quality for an action camera. The video stabilization is great, and ISOs up to 800 generate usable videos. It’s also very easy to use with all the settings placed on top-level menus. I did, however, encounter two weird glitches while testing it. The first one was a glitch that made the screen look like bad 2-bit footage from the early 2000s. I panicked and didn’t get a picture of this, however. The second one was a glitch with the orientation sensor, where the Osmo only wanted to shoot in portrait orientation for some reason, despite multiple restarts. Anyway, both of these glitches disappeared when I system reset the thing. Overall, great device with some weird quirks, but still highly recommended.

detailedReviews 24: content: I’ve been looking for a new action camera to replace an older hand me down I had gotten, the DJI Osmo Action 4 was quite the upgrade. With the Action Camera Adventure bundle it’s the perfect bundle with the camera to keep it going all day long. I’ve been wanting to take a camera along with us on our adventures, but the old one just wouldn’t hold up. But that’s gonna change with the Osmo Action 4!
Pros:
- Ease of use.
- Quality of Video.
- Screens on back and front.
Cons:
- DJI app not in android store.
Out of the box, this action camera is ready to go! Just insert a battery, microSD card, and clip on the protective case, then go! It does need a mobile device to register, update, and access more of the advance features but out of the box you can skip all that if you want to jump straight into the action. It’s extremely refreshing to be able to open the box and go. But I found that the software does add a lot to this camera.
If you’re an android user, unfortunately DJI apps are not supported in the Play store and need to be installed separately. This will only be an inconvenience for anyone running Advanced Protection on their device, as you will need to disable Advanced Protection to install the apps. After installation, you can re-enable Advanced Protection on the android device. IOS device users can use the App Store.
The Adventure Bundle comes with 2 extra batteries and a charging case, which can charge all 3 batteries included at the same time (1 with the camera and 2 in the bundle). Also included is a cage for the camera, an extension rod, and a surface mounting backet. The cage helps protect the body and screens from any impacts plus gives another mounting point on the side of the camera. The extension rod is just a basic extension rod but solid, it extends to 57in and is easy to maneuver with the camera on the end. The surface mount is great if you want to attach the camera to your helmet or a vehicle with a strong adhesive. The only thing not in this bundle is a fully waterproof case for deeper dives, that is sold separately.
DJI is an expert at creating a simple user experience, this comes out quite clearly in the design and software of the Osmo Action 4. From the simple 2 buttons on the camera: Power/mode/select and Record Start/Stop, to the intuitive touch controls which use easy to understand symbols. There’s no mountain of settings to scroll through and adjust just to get the camera to work.
The touch screen is straightforward, though there are not a lot of settings or configurations, everything that is needed is on the main screen. Additional settings are available with a two-finger swipe down, but even with adjusting these settings it takes little over a few minutes. The default settings are very good, I found they worked in most conditions, but I did play with the resolution and FPS (frames per second). The Osmo Action 4 supports resolutions starting at 1080P up to 4K, with the 1080P having a max FPS of 240 FPS and 4K maxing out at 120 FPS. There are two formats, 16:9 and 4:3. With modes for Photo, Video, Slow Motion, and Timelapse, this action camera is ready for all your adventures.
Depending on your intended use, the extra batteries that come with the Action Camera Adventure bundle might be a must have if you’re planning a full day of recording adventures with this action camera. DJI has the battery life quoted at 155 mins on 1080p, which is pretty accurate from what I have experienced so far. With the higher resolutions and FPS, the battery life does go down faster but I was able to get over 2 hours while recording at 4K 60 FPS. With 3 batteries and a quick charger, you can keep recording all day! The battery case conveniently charges all 3 batteries but quickly if using a 30W fast charger, there is a DJI specific charger, but I used a phone fast charger, it worked just fine. Fast charging can charge a battery to 80% in ~20mins, so you’re always ready to keep recording.
Getting to the photos is a breeze, just plug in the Camera into your computer with the included USB-C to USB-C cable or use a USB-C to USB-A cable if your computer doesn’t have a USB-C port. Then on the Camera set how the device should have, as a file transfer or Webcam. It’s that easy. Until you set the device as a file transfer, your computer will not see the Osmo Action Camera. You can also wirelessly transfer files via the MIMO app or WiFi but I chose a direct plug in as it was the quickest and easiest. I will have to look at how this performs as a Webcam as the quality of the video is great.
Finally, the software. For android Users, once you get over how to install the DJI Mimo app, it is a pretty solid addition to the Action Camera. My favorite feature added with the software comes once you connect and register your device to the mobile device with the app, you can wirelessly stream to the mobile device from the Osmo Action Camera. The quality of the stream will depend on the situation, but I found it to be great for around the house and out and about. It made it easier to position the action camera while on the extension rod.
The DJI Osmo Action 4 is an amazing little camera that not only does a lot, it is able to do each of those things well. From video to photo to timelapse or slow motion, this action camera is ready for any adventure you toss it into. This is a solid action camera for any adventure, and even better for a beginner as it is simple to use. I’m looking forward to bringing this along on my next adventure and playing around with the features some more!

title: I’ve been looking for a new action camera...
detailedReviews 25: content: This camera is super great! We will start off with the design of the camera. It's very sleek and very minimal, which is great because it is not too distracting when attached to different places. This specific bundle comes with a battery case with 3 batteries and an extension rod or as most know it, a selfie stick. The battery is a little weak on UHD recording. I was on 4.7k 120fps and recorded for no more than about 10 mins with the camera on for about 30 mins and I dropped from 93% to 80% by the end of testing. Can be better, but on lower settings, it does last longer. During the entirety of the recording, the camera got a little warm but nothing too extreme where it needed to shut itself off or disrupt any of the recordings. I dropped it into water and ran it under a water source as well and it recorded everything just fine. It felt very durable. The sound is surprising actually. The sound didn't get distorted much during initial water testing but it eventually did that "water" sound after a while but even then, it wasn't too bad and it seemed to have fixed itself fairly quickly too. The speaker cannot be the same though, unfortunately after being underwater. It kept that muffled sound for a lot longer than the camera. The app connectivity with my phone is good but when I dropped the camera underwater, my phone lost connection to it but it was able to reconnect again so I'm unsure what was going on there. Overall, I think if the battery was just a tad bit better with UHD recording, this would be an easy 5 star. This camera is fantastic.

title: This camera is super great! We will start...
detailedReviews 26: content: DJI continues to prove it’s a high quality brand for on-the-go media equipment. This Osmo Action 4 4K action camera adventure bundle offers many convenience factors like quick magnetic mounts, voice commands, quick record button, custom settings, and much more. The camera itself offers awesome video quality with many resolution and frame rate settings to choose from alongside slow-mo and time lapse options. I highly recommend the adventure bundle for all of its extra accessories.
IMAGE QUALITY
The Action 4 camera offers stunning images and videos. I tested this out in a lot of the focal lengths for both video and photo. I don’t usually go for slow-mo video, but since this camera has 4K/120FPS & 1080P/240FPS, I had to see what it was like to film my dog running around. It was great! I’m going to use slow-mo more often to film my dog. I also took some pictures in low lighting and from what I can see, the images are sharp (given that I was very still). The high quality low-light photos are due to the image sensor that comes in at 1/1.3” - impressive for such a tiny camera!
STORAGE CAPACITY
As with any higher quality settings, it’s going to take up more room on the card. The display does a great job of letting you know how much storage is left on each setting. For reference, I am using a 128GB card and have about 116GB free, so with that in mind, here are some examples of what I’m getting for remaining storage on Video mode.
4K 48-120FPS: 1h 59m
4K 24-30FPS: 2h 31m
2.7K 48-60FPS: 2h 31m
2.7K 24-30FPS: 3h 28m
1080P 200-240FPS: 2h 19m
1080P 48-60FPS: 3h 5m
1080P 24-30FPS: 4h 38m
FIELD OF VIEW & IMAGE STABILIZATION
I use both horizontal and vertical filming to accommodate multiple video platforms and with the magnetic mount accessories, it’s very simple to switch between both filming orientations (more on accessories below). I find that for vlogging I’m partial to the Standard (Dewarp) focal length which is equivalent to 14mm on photo and 15mm on video. If I’m in a scenario with a bit more action, I will use the wide or ultra wide field of view and use any combo of RockSteady, RockSteady+, or HorizonSteady. RockSteady+ digitally zooms in to account for movement in the image. In most cases, I’m going to use at least RockSteady, because without any kind of stabilization, moving scenarios simply need the stabilization. If I’m just going to set up the camera and walk away like for a timelapse, then I’d feel comfortable turning off stabilization to get the full field of view. Speaking of the in-camera stabilization features, the HorizonSteady feature is very cool. I am able to run around with my dog while filming and the horizon line will stay, as named, steady. I can see this feature being super useful for people who are going on extreme adventures (surfing, cycling) but it really is useful even for someone like me who walks around a lot at events and theme parks.
ACCESSORIES
I am very impressed with the accessories that this bundle comes with. Not only does it come with 3 batteries, but it has a neat little charging case for the batteries! It’s so convenient to have a dedicated charger for the batteries as well as a good place to store them on-the-go. Let’s talk about these great magnetic mounts. With my old action cam, I had to spend time screwing or unscrewing the base from the mount to remove the camera from the housing, but the Action 4 comes with magnetic “click-on” mounts that are so easy to use! Just make sure that it really clicks down. No more messing around with the screw piece unless you want to change the mount piece all together. Now I can simply unclip from the mount mount and flip the camera to the vertical position and it just clips right into the side mount. So simple and pretty much hassle free. The extendable handle reaches almost 5ft tall. I’m a little bummed that it doesn’t turn into a tripod, but it does have a threaded mount at the bottom which is useful.
BATTERY LIFE
The battery life seems to be okay. I’ve gone from 100% to 59% in 3 hours of intermittent use. The battery case fits neatly in my camera bag so I’m not worried about running out of juice at an event. I did read that this product works well in cold temperatures, which is great for those that need it, but I’m in Texas where summer feels never ending. I am worried about my devices overheating, but that’s not unique to this DJI action cam - I have to look out for any of my camera devices.
TWO DISPLAYS
I always appreciate a camera display that tells me how much storage and battery I have remaining so I’m pleased that this DJI action cam has that info in the top corners of both front and rear displays. I really like that the front display is touchscreen. I like having the “selfie” camera so I can easily switch it up while vlogging and not lose track of the viewfinder, but if that’s not for you, just turn it off in the settings. I bet it saves some battery if the front display is off, but I use it too much to turn it off.
SETUP & SETTINGS
The one thing that took a little time to set up (maybe 20 minutes?) is the app download and firmware update. The camera sounds/beeps are pretty loud by default so I went into the device settings to mute everything. I noticed that the sounds defaulted back to “high” when I updated the firmware. Not sure what other settings would get reset when updating firmware, but that’s something to keep in mind. I suggest doing all the app work/ firmware updates before messing with the settings too much.
There are certain unique settings like SnapShot, Voice Control, and Custom Settings. Custom settings are so convenient to set up and I love that I can add any of these to the quick select button on the side of the camera. Set up to 5 custom settings with any combination of video resolution and frame rate as well as photo mode.
SnapShot allows you to push the record button from the off position to quickly start recording. The only thing to keep in mind with this setting is that the camera will turn off once you stop recording. Voice Control is hit and miss. There are specific voice commands like Start Recording, Stop Recording, Take Photo, and Shut Down. It picked up my voice like 70% of the time. It’s super convenient to be able to say “take photo” while holding the camera out on the extended rod, but it doesn’t work unless I’m loud. It also doesn’t work if you say “Take A Photo”, you have to say “Take Photo” for it to work.
DJI MIMO APP
I’m on Android, so I had to download the DJI Mimo app from their website since it’s not available in the Play Store. The app is able to live preview what your camera is capturing so it can be super useful if you want to use it as a remote or monitor. I was also able to download photos and videos from the DJI action cam directly to my phone. Unfortunately you can’t really bypass the app setup as the action camera itself will only let you skip that step 5 times.
OVERALL
The DJI Osmo Action 4 is an incredible action cam and the Adventure Bundle is the way to go since it comes with extra batteries and a charger. I’m so excited to take this camera hiking next month when it gets cooler. I can tell the ultra wide field of view is going to capture so much of the scenery. Small but mighty, the DJI Action 4 is an excellent choice for an action camera.

title: DJI continues to prove it’s a high quality...
detailedReviews 27: content: Originally purchased the GoPro Hero 11 creator bundle but immediately noticed how hot the unit got during the setup process. I looked around at reviews and found that it’s a very common issue with GoPros in general. I searched for competitors and found this DJI Action 4 bundle. I have a DJI mini 3 pro drone and felt dumb not turning to DJI first for a camera since i love the drone so much!
While you do lose a few cool attachments compared to the GoPro creator bundle like the light mod, tripod with battery, and wind cover for the mic; the DJI action 4 is where you should put your money. You get 3 batteries which are more important if you’re on the go. Even then you might not need them because the battery life on this camera excels past the GoPro. The included battery charging accessory is a blessing also! Let’s you charge three batteries at once similar to the Mini 3 pro battery charger. Finally the selfie stick included is super long and lightweight. If you spend some time in the Mimo app you can even make the selfie stick disappear in your shots!
A quick detail for people not too camera savvy and new to action cameras like myself; the camera sensor on this model is bigger than the GoPros which simply put is better. A bigger sensor gathers more light and therefore will perform better in low light situations. I also mentioned the overheating issue on the GoPros. When compared to the GoPro, the DJI handles the heat better and when it does get near to overheating the screen will simply shut off but keep recording. The GoPro will shut down altogether and stop recording! So good job to DJI for withstanding that annoying feature in the GoPro!
There are a few YouTube videos that compare the two brands and i suggest watching those to see the quality yourself. The DJI should’ve been a no brainer for me but i acted on impulse first. I highly recommend this camera bundle! Well worth the money!

detailedReviews 28: content: Android doesn't support the app, but it works fine downloaded onto my phone. No guarantees that the chnese gvmnt isn't watching me type this right now, but we're in the technology age so who knows what's really going on. Oh and it won't connect if you're using a VPN. Other than that it's pretty straight forward.
It's a good camera, great picture, and doesn't seem to have as many hiccups as a gopro might. Battery life is pretty good but it overheats quickly filming on a hot day just like any piece of electronics would. Mine came with three batteries and the portable charger. That thing charges slowly but it's awesome to have. It charges pretty quickly connected to an outlet though.
Just buy the thing and go film stuff.

detailedReviews 29: content: The DJI Action 4 is now my go-to device for recording videos for my YouTube channel. It provides everything I need to make a nice video: 4k resolution, a wide variety of frame rates, and D-Log M 10-bit color. The recent update also provided 10-bit normal color mode if you don't want to mess with raw.
It replaces my GoPro 10, which has been a disappointment almost from the first day I used it. While it provides wonderful images, similar to the DJI Action 4, it is the most unreliable, finicky device I've ever used. Almost every change to resolution, frame rate, or audio connections requires a battery pull. As anyone who has used a GoPro, especially with the so-called media mod attached, you know that pulling the battery is a frustrating, time consuming endeavor.
I waited a few months after the Action 4 was released before purchasing it. Needless to say, I'm satisfied! It works as I want it to. The image quality is great; I see no difference between that and what I used to get with the GoPro. This plus its reliability makes it a winner for me.
I got the adventure combo. The stick and the 3-battery recharge pack are important to me and I'm glad I chose that combination over some of the others. The only added item I ordered to go with the Action 4 was the Small Rig cage for the camera. For some reason the DJI cage did not have a cold shoe for my Rode wireless mics. The Small Rig cage does the trick.

detailedReviews 30: content: I've used a few DJI products so I was familiar with the quality that was to be expected out of the company. This camera bundle is no exception. The package includes 3 batteries and a charging case that holds/ charges the batteries. It also includes a few other add ons like a protective frame, a quick release adapter mount, cables and a extension rod. The batteries last quite a while from my experience. It boasts being able to record at -20 degrees c, and while I thankfully had a chance to try to use it at that temp it's supposed to get 2.5 hrs of normal battery life. The Osmo action 4 can record in 4k/120fps and has an ultra wide field of view at 155 degrees. The Osmo has a touch screen on front and back of the device which is really cool. Setup was easy and self explanatory. Settings are easy to get to and I still haven't made my way around all the settings yet. It uses extremely strong magnetic mounts on the bottom and side for easy mounting on metal devices.
I used the DJI app on ios to connect the camera and I would recommend it as it has more options than just fiddling around with the camera itself. It makes setup an even easier process. I've used this camera in several different ways. I followed my kids and dog around on their bikes and recorded them zooming around as well as I've taken some photos. When videoing I used the Rocksteady and Rocksteady+ setting. These made me running around chasing my kids extremely smooth, like major motion picture smooth. I'm really impressed. I also tried out slow motion, which looks extremely cool on playback on a 4k tv. The sound quality the Osmo picks up also sounds really great on playback. Photos and video look amazing from this device.
All in all this is an amazing action camera and has a ton of uses with many different options to choose from for everyone. I think this camera bundle is well worth it and I highly recommend it!

Best Feature:4k 120fps
Product Quality:Well Made product
An instant no brainer in terms of performance. Much better price-to-performance ratio when compared to GoPro Hero 10-12. Low light function is better, detailed and all footage is usable. Can easily handle up to 3200ISO for low light. Grain in lowlight only appears when set to 6400 iso and above.
On daylight, camera shines and really performs. 4k 120 fps is basic for this device. It doesn't heat up easily and battery last well for a whole day of use. Charges to full batt in only 20 minutes.
Overall a really good device to invest on when you plan to vlog, shoot, or just have fun.
Case and extra accessories are not included in the purchase. Got those from my previous action Cam 3.

detailedReviews 34: content: The DJI Osmo Action 4 4k Action Camera Adventure Bundle is a pretty sweet option for folks who want a good-quality, durable, portable, action camera. I have been impressed.
This camera is used in multiple ways, including: hiking, camping, kayaking, motorcyling, off-roading, and (planned but not yet) snow skiing.
I have tested it extensively and am very pleased.
Connecting to the DJI app on your phone is easy and quick. This makes it super easy to edit photos and to transfer them to your primary mobile photo albums.
Low-light performance is particularly strong, especially for this genre of camera. The editing software also offers useful enhancements, should you be so inclined.
Color and image quality top-notch. I appreciate that I don't get nearly the "fish-eye" look that you get from some similar products. Beyond that color, the color gamut seems true to the eye and helps enhance the overall appearace of photos and video.
Battery life has been fantastic. I can use it over extended periods without even swapping the battery, but I REALLY appreciate the fact this pack includes three batteries and a portable battery case to keep them topped off. I feel confident taking this setup on any trip and wish I'd had it earlier this year when we toured Europe.
Video is steady and seamless. You don't feel jerked around while watching video from the DJI Osmo Action 4. It's just a nice camera that does a really nice job.
Of course, the Adventure Bundle comes with a variety of useful accessories, including:
* Osmo Action Horizontal-Vertical Protective Frame,
* Osmo Action Quick-Release Adapter Mount (this is also magnetic, which makes it easier to use),
* Osmo Action Quick-Release Adapter Mount (Mini),
* Osmo Action Curved Adhesive Base,
* Osmo 1.5m Extension Rod,
* Osmo Action Lens Hood, and
* Osmo Action Anti-Slip Pad.
My only minor gripe is that there is no onboard memory at all. You can't take any photos without a memory card, and the package doesn't include even a basic micro SD card. So count on spending a little extra money for a memory card. But the good news is micro SD cards are pretty cheap now.
Overall, this is a very nice action camera with a useful accessory pack.
Overall, I love this little guy.

title: The DJI Osmo Action 4 4k Action Camera...
detailedReviews 35: content: Received as a birthday present. Planned to use for nighttime motorcycle riding considering GoPro is getting meh reviews for lowlight recording. Openend the box and the manual prompted me to download the DJI MIMO app in order to activate and update firmware prior to using the camera. I was surprised to find that there is no app on the Playstore (Google) and DJI has not supported a Playstore app since 2021. No big deal, I'll just download from the DJI website.. or so I thought.
1st step.. you must turn off all the security settings on your phone that block spyware, in order to download the Android app from the DJI website. Sketch, but ok. Download complete. Installing....... unable to unstall. Come to find out, my Android phone is not on the very small list of compatible Android devices, and neither was my Galaxy Tab. *sigh*
No worries, I'll just update firmware and activate the camera on my Windows laptop.. Nope! No option to do that. Its only app based. So, in conclusion I'm sure Apple users LOVE this camera. I was not willing to purchase a new mobile decice just so I could use the stupid thing, so i returned it to Best Buy. I guess I'll wait until GoPro catches up with their competition in the next 5 iterations of the Hero. Hero 17 maybe circa 2030 maybe?

title: Received as a birthday present. Planned to use...
detailedReviews 36: content: I’ve been using the DJI Osmo Action 4 for the past week or so and I have to say that it has quickly grown on me. It’s earned a spot in my daily carry book bag / pocket. I’m no action junkie but this camera has become my go to for recording life and everyday moments. Even though I’m not jumping out of airplanes or riding a motorcycle down a freeway, this camera is perfect for vlogging and documentary style video recording and photo captures. It has an amazing wide angle lens, the built in Rocksteady stabilizer provides a beautiful and clean stable video every time. I choose the standard rocksteady setting because it keeps a good wide angle. I like that it has a “quick shot” function so that I can just pull the action camera out of my pocket or bag and press the record button and it will turn on and start recording at the setting I have pre set. It has a small front facing screen so that you can see make sure you are still in the frame while recording. I pretty much leave the resolution set to 4K 60fps, the front facing screen will not show your frame in that mode (I’m assuming because of power consumption) but it’s ok. All you have to do is lower it to 2.7K and you’ll be good to go. It has a maximum setting of 4K 120fps. Pretty wicked! I popped in a 512gb SD card, and I can get about 9 hours of footage on it at 4K 60fps. Speaking of, the bundle doesn’t come with a micro SD card so don’t forget to get one. The included bundle items are very convenient. I love the magnetic mounting system. You can quickly move the osmo from one mount to another. Battery life is quite good. I’ve recorded about an hour of footage so far and spent quite a bit of time digging through the menus and I’ve yet to charge the battery. It comes with 3 batteries that will charge at the same time in the case, very cool! The 3 batteries will easily get you through an even filled day. I wish the included monopod was collapsible, i feel a little awkward carrying it around lol, but that’s just me. It is great for getting low or high angle shots that you just wouldn’t get using your arms. My only complaint about the camera is that the iOS app seems to be buggy still. I’ve yet to successfully transfer a video from the camera to my iPhone or iPad with the DJI app. It just refuses to do it. I’m sure DJI can fix the app later, but as of today it still hasn’t worked for me for file transfers. But it did lead me to discovering that you can tether the Osmo to your MacBook with a USB C cable to transfer files and use it as a webcam! So cool! It made me so happy to know that I can use my Osmo Action 4 to FaceTime, and to record myself playing guitar on my MacBook with it. I use my MacBook screen to frame my shot and hit the record button. The footage looks and sounds great!
Would I recommend this camera? Most definitely!
You are able to get amazing videos quickly and conveniently that you just couldn’t with a phone. The footage is certainly more stable than any smartphone camera. It has many resolution and frame rate options, it has a 2x digital zoom, hyperlapse, horizon balance and many other software features that make capturing moments so cool with it. I love it, and I think you will to.
Pros: Beautiful and stable video /audio quality
Bundle comes with lots of accessories and 3 batteries.
Compact and super convenient in any situation.
Can be used as a webcam
Cons: the iOS app needs some bug fixes

detailedReviews 37: content: Performance:Great
The camera is very convenient and comfortable to use because of it's straightforward controls and compact size. Audio is surprisingly good and you have the option to attach an external microphone too. Video quality is good at 2.7k and even better at 4k, there's also an option to choose how many frames per second so experienced videographers can take more experimental shots.
I haven't tried post-production editing yet but there's an option to record with D-Log M color profile which lets you get more creative with color grading.
My only regret is not buying the Adventure Combo instead of the Standard Combo because the extra batteries that are included in the other combo are well worth it.

detailedReviews 38: content: DJI without a doubt has learned their lesson from the days of the DJI Osmo Action 2. When the Action 3 came out I was thrilled. It performed better, had additional features, a better mounting system, and truly came to market as a competitive product. The Osmo Action 4 continues that mentality adding onto the feature set and success of the Action 3.
First let's talk Battery. Now the Batteries from the action 3 are compatible with the Action 4. Thats huge. Why? Batteries are expensive but DJI understands their customer base and the last thing we want to do is have an older model camera that doesn't allow for interchangable batteries. Secondly, fast charging. You can charge this battery insanely fast. Testing it I was able to drain a battery throw it into the charger and unplug 30 minutes later and I had something around 85 percent battery back. Do you understand how key that is. Picture this... you are out in the Rockies skiing or snowboarding, you drain your 3 batteries with all the awesome footage you've captured from shredding down the mountain. So 3 hours of footage but now a storm has rolled in. You gotta get this on film. How? Dead batteries. Go to the lodge plug it in and have lunch. 45 minutes to an hour later your batteries are GOOD TO GO. That's huge. Good on DJI
Sensor talk - Tech Geeks rejoice 1/1.3 Sensor is much larger with a 2.8 aperture. Why do we care. This camera is beyond impressive in low light now. The camera even knows (if enabled) to enable low light mode and reduces noise. Its a MASSIVE difference now from its predecessor. If you record in lower light this is a game changer for the Action series.
Temperature tests. The Action 4 continues to be able to function in higher heats and lower climates. I haven't been able to test in the field in the Rockies skiing just yet but throwing this thing in a freezer for an hour seemed to have no effect on its performance. Direct heat inside a car - same result handled it like a champ.
Overall I can't say enough about DJI's impressive continuation of the Action line and if you are looking for a perfect gift or perfect action camera this is the product go-to!

detailedReviews 39: content: I got this camera a little over a week ago, and it already seems like a great camera. It's nice to have so many settings, not to mention Rocksteady and Rocksteady+ which do not compare to GoPro's level. The extra batteries are a must-have, and the charging case charges all three in less than an hour. The extendable selfie stick seems like it's great quality, with it only being slightly flimsy at the max level. Another reason this camera stood out to me was because I could plug in the camera directly to change the battery without removing the one inside. The compatibility with GoPro mounts such as the suction cup, which I already had, and this constant charging function gives me the opportunity to use this as an excellent dashcam. The only downside I can see is the fact that to use this camera, you must have an SD card. This did not affect me because I was already buying one, but for someone else, this may not be as appealing. Overall, this seems to be an amazing camera, from good footage at 5:00 AM to the DJI Mimo app which gives you the option to see through the camera from your phone.
If my opinion changes in the future, I will update my review, but for now, 5+.

Bought this for my boyfriend as a birthday present. He loves it. His last action camera was a gopro hero 3 i think so this is definitely an upgrade. He was testing out the horizon stabiliser in the video attached, safe to say we are in awe. Shipping was fast considering it was pre-ordered and suppose to arrive on the 12th jan but got it on 26th dec instead. It was packaged well, there was no dents on the box or any damage to the camera or accessories. Thank you!

detailedReviews 41: content: Overall a great action camera (when it was working) and the DJI accessories are nice however, after some successful filming the camera orientation/rotation has randomly stopped working after less than a year of usage, being able to film conveniently in any orientation was one of the great things about this camera. The camera orientation has been and is seemingly now forever stuck in horizontal mode upside down, so I have to fix the orientation of all my footage in post editing. Nothing I have tried has fixed the issue (checking orientation lock is off, factory reset, updating firmware, horizon calibration).
Aside from that issue camera has been very good for snowboarding, hikes, and general travel. The DJI magnetic mounts are very convenient and it's nice that there is some compatibility with GoPro accessories.

detailedReviews 42: content: Having updated from an older GoPro which maybe around 10 years old now, it only could record at a maximum of 1080p and has a waterproof case which can not be removed from the camera, this Action 4 camera is a huge upgrade in video quality
and sound. The easy of use with this camera makes it hassle free to quickly record videos and then use the phone app to edit your clips into something you can be proud of to upload online with basically no experience.
Sure, the new Action 5 has some better features, night recording, OLED screens, better battery life, etc, but I managed to get this camera at a sale, the choice was easy when comparing the cost to the other cameras. I would hands down recommend this camera to anyone who wants to start doing some vlogging.

detailedReviews 44: content: The DJI Osmo Action 4 Adventure Combo Action Camera is a very cool gadget that is easy to accommodate any outing. This camera has Ultra High Definition recording and a 2.25 inch screen size with a very responsive touchscreen. The black color and waterproof feature give it a sleek look and make it very versatile. I was very nervous about the waterproof feature but I used it without any issues. The action pack comes with adapters and accessories for almost all occasions.
The video quality and field of vision is very good as is the stability of the video. The three batteries give you a ton of recording time and keeps you prepared for all occasions so you don't get cut off.
The adapters that come with it allow you to connect it to most things and positions. I mainly use it when i go biking and the footage is a little jumpy but i'm biking on trails and digitial stabilizer works wonders.
It is easy to setup, easy to edit the video and transfer the video. I really enjoyed using it and if you have an active lifestyle it is a nice addition for the memories.

title: The DJI Osmo Action 4 Adventure Combo Action...
detailedReviews 45: content: The DJI Osmo Action4 is a great little action camera that’s a blast to use. The Adventure Bundle comes with some extras that make it a worthwhile upgrade:
- 3 batteries with a charging case instead of just 1 battery and no case. The case can also store two microSD cards (not included). The 3 batteries can be charged in about two hours with a 30-watt USB-C charger (not included). You can also fast charge a battery in the camera itself, which takes 18 minutes to get to 80% charge, or 49 minutes for a full charge.
- 2 quick-release mounts instead of just 1
- 1.5 meter extension rod. This rod does not float, however, so is not suitable for underwater use. A floating handle is available as a separate accessory.
Important to note: In order to activate the camera for first-time use, you have to download the DJI Mimo mobile app. Once activated, the Mimo app is no longer needed to operate the camera, though it does have many useful features.
Positives
- Magnetic mount makes it super easy to move the camera from one mount to another. That means you can quickly grab the camera off your bike and attach it to your tripod, for example.
- The front screen is a touch screen. If you’re filming yourself, you don’t have to flip the camera around to change settings.
- Quick Switch button lets choose between your five custom presets instead of having to pick a preset from the menus.
- If the camera is off and you want to record ASAP, you can hold down the record button for a second or two and it will turn and start recording immediately. When you’re done, you can press the record button to stop recording and it will stop and enter shut down mode, but it will give you 3 seconds to touch the screen to stop shutting down if you’d like to keep the camera on. Not all cameras will let you interrupt the shutdown when turned on this way.
- The DJI Mimo mobile app gives you a live view of what’s being recorded.
- Plug-and-play as a webcam if you want to use it on your computer.
- USB-C port accepts an external microphone with no further mods needed.
- Waterproof to 18 meters without a case.
- Voice control lets you speak a few commands to start/stop recording, take a photo, or shutdown. This is great when, for example, you’re wearing gloves.
Negatives
- Color profile is a little on the dark side for my taste. Since action cameras are often used in bright daylight, this is not a bad choice necessarily, and it can be adjusted in post.
- Does not have 5.3K resolution; 4K is the max.
- No GPS data built-in. You can purchase a remote control that will insert GPS data.
- While lowlight ability is better than other action cameras due to its sensor size, it’s still an action camera so don’t expect anything amazing.
- No HDR setting means highlights can get blown
- While the magnetic mount is a breeze, there’s no 1/4” bottom screw hole in case you want to use it on your own tripod etc.
- If you use the protective frame, it covers access to the battery and microSD card compartment.
- When used as a webcam, you cannot use the digital zoom though you can select from the FOV settings.
- No ability to use Bluetooth for an external mic, say if you want to use your earbuds as a mic for example.
Overall, this is a great little action camera. The convenience of the magnetic mount makes it a breeze to move the camera to different mounts.

detailedReviews 46: content: Really love this camera, I'm a big Very fan as it offers flexible ways to pay provided you are sensible with it.
The camera offers a very crisp quality which is perfect for me as an aspiring content creator and nature lover, great slow motion, and a major value for the price in this bundle.
Action cameras are a must for those that love to capture memories and the outdoors type. Additionally it gives you extra motivation to get out and about and I have always expressed that doing nature walks with a camera opens your eyes to things you would never normally notice.
Lastly, I want to say for those of you looking for an alternative to Gopro, DJI is just that however this isn't to say either company is better, they may well be on par but DJI I find personally you get more for your buck.

detailedReviews 47: content: This camera is made for two things: wide angle shots with enough motion to make it hard to pixel peep, and close up selfie style shots. It's really good at both of those things, especially in bright environments. I've managed some beautiful slow motion videos when putting the camera in a position that the subject takes a good bit of the frame, and some reasonable quality videos wearing it that couldn't be replicated with a full sized camera without fakery (eg wearing it in the garden to test).
Additionally, the 10bit color depth mode does really seem to help a lot at getting tolerable detail in low light, and the fact that it's waterproof allow you to do things you can't easily do with a normal camera.
Ignoring the fixed lens only allowing wide angle shots, it just doesn't capture images at the quality of a dedicated DSLR or mirrorless camera/video camera. It isn't really pretending to that hard, but if you're buying it, it is worth being aware that it really only does the two things I mentioned. It does things they can't, so it's worth having if you want to do those things, but it's really not a general purpose camera.

detailedReviews 48: content: The DJI Osmo Action 4 is an amazing camera with great features. This is not the first or only action camera that I possess, but this one has some amazing features that make it so much fun and easy to use. Number one let us discuss the battery life. The battery life is far greater than other action cameras by at least fifty percent longer. This makes those time-lapse videos a blast to shoot because I'm not worried about the battery dying after an hour or less of shooting.
The features of this camera make it amazing and fun to use. It is very easy to sync up with my phone and utilize it to get the shot I want. It comes with so many different templates and the ease of use for the app makes using this action camera a breeze.
Overall this is a phenomenal camera with attention to detail and the best part is you only need a special case to take it deep into the water otherwise you can take it snorkeling or in shallow water without the need for a special case. This is a great camera and I highly recommend it.

The handlebar mount has great adjustability and allows me to perch the camera 6 inches above the handlebars, giving me a greater image of the scenery. I can also mount it on fork or chain stays for different perspectives. Though I expect the camera to vibrate when attached in either fashion, the Rock Steady image stabilization virtually eliminates vibration in the finished video. detailedReviews 50: content: filming quality seems to be ok, but don't expect an easy setup. When you first power on it gives you a QR code to download the Dji Mimo software that you must activate against your camera. You only have 5 times you can ignore this. However, the main issue is that the QR code takes you to the DJI store app, not the mimo app, they are quite different. The DJI quick setup guide included with the camera is the opposite, it complicates the setup as well, as it gives incorrect information.
As long as you have the mimo app, not available on Google play store, then you can sideload it and you should be ok, its just getting to that point takes some time when you are trying to follow instructions from DJI that are simply incorrect.

detailedReviews 55: content: I've always wanted one of these "action" cameras. With all of the accessories available for the other big brand name, I was leaning that way, but then along comes the DJI Osmo Action which is compatible with the vast majority of accessories for that other brand. BONUS!
I use this camera for when I am fishing. Granted, fishing really hasn't been great this time of the year around my area, but I like to have the camera mounted to either A) a clamp that holds the camera pointing towards the end of my pole, or B) head or chest mounted so I can record my first person view of everything happening while I bring in "the big one".
Although I haven't really caught anything (worth mentioning) since I got this camera, I can say that I've used it with confidence since I don't have to worry about it getting wet from splashes, falling in the water, or from rain due to it's IP68 rating.
I didn't capture any video worthy of sharing unfortunately due to the poor catches, but I'm hopeful that once things pick up I'll be able to have some awesome video of my fishing exploits , or at the very least, video proof of "the one that got away".

detailedReviews 57: content: The most important improvement is the battery life as it out lasts the Go-Pro 3 to 1. The video footage is excellent and the video stabilisation is simply outstanding. I have bought two of these and use them in my car as a dash cam and on my bike mounted on the helmet. The stabilisation is so good that even on the basic stabilisation it is buttery smooth even on the most uneven roads. I go off roading a lot and I’ve still never needed to use anything higher than the basic setting. Dynamic range is excellent, and from what I’ve seen the video quality is much better than the Go-Pro. DGI have now surpassed the GO-PRO by quite a stretch.

title: The most important improvement is the battery life...
detailedReviews 58: content: I'm starting to think that this is the year for great tech. At first glance, this just seemed like any run of the mill action camera. A copy of that other pro brand. But after simply opening the box, I found myself looking into the headlights of the Porsche of action cams. The Osmo Action 4 is a for lack of a better phrase. A shear beast of a camera. And the combo pack is the way to go, when you make your purchasing decision. This thing comes jam packed with everything you need to get your adventure started, filmed and posted on the platform of your choice right out of the box. I was skeptical at the idea , as I've had a couple action cams in my time and this on didn't scream unique to me. But with an always on HDR mode, and an invisible selfie stick in the box, I started listening. Then I found 3, count em. Three rechargeable batteries in a charging case( that can also charge your phone).. Hold up. WHAT?? Yes. iIn the box. Then you've got two magnetic attachment grips, two connectionscrews and a helmet attachment,a projective case for water filming and more. The picture quality is top-notch. The sound quality is amaz-bawlz. It can be easily connected to your mobile device for mobile remote recording & quick downloads to your device for easy editing. Did I mention Three whole batteries? Oh, I did? Just checking.
There are a couple things that keep this from 5 stars. One being We've got all of tis and no micro SD card? I can even forgive that, but tell me why, as an Android user, do I have to resign myself to going to the Osmo website to download the much needed app? Apple has it right there in the App store.
Now, I'm sure this will get fixed soon....hopefully.. But for now that's kind of a pain to find and download the app to even get started. However, once it's installed, You are golden. At the same price point as its nearest competition, It's really a no-brainer as to what to do at this point. You've made this far. Put it in your cart.

detailedReviews 59: content: The Osmo Pocket 3 is super handy and is perfect for on the go vlogs, capturing moments and it's a perfect camera for getting some amazing footage.
There are modes that you can use to make your content stand out from others.
As well as purchasing the Creator Combo, I was gifted by my mum the ND filters by DJI and they really help make footage have a decreased white hue, it's as if the camera has a some cute shades on. The Creator Combo does come with a wide angle lens, which I find is perfect for scenery shots or getting more people in footage.
I highly recommend this camera, especially the Creator Combo bundle, it's perfect for first time vloggers or content creators.

detailedReviews 60: content: Don't buy the DJI Osmo Action 4 if you have an Android phone.
The required DJI Mimo app isn't on Google Play; you have to download it from DJI's website, and my phone flagged it as harmful. There is no other way to activate the phone to use it.
This mandatory app is needed for activation, a fact not mentioned on the box or DJI's site or JBHIFI staff.
Opening the box to discover this means no refund from JB Hi-Fi, even though their staff were unaware of this issue. Very disappointed in JBHIFI. They suggested that I download the harmful file.
it's a security risk and a rip-off as I am left with a brick instead of a camera.

detailedReviews 61: content: This blows away the competition. It's much more user-friendly, and has awesome 4K video quality. I love that it comes with the extension pole. It makes things so much easier. The 3 batteries AND the little triple charger is a must-have. It's very easy to load the videos into your laptop. I just connect the Action 4 to the laptop via USB-C, and that way you're not removing a small little Micro SD card every time you upload video clips.
I was really impressed with the stabilization, too. Even indoors. I plan on using it for real estate work on the rare occasion that someone wants some interior video footage. I do the exterior with a drone, but there are times and circumstances where a drone is not a feasible option. I hope it goes on sale, so I can get the 60 day price match thru Best Buy Total Tech! That would make it even better. But honestly, even at $399, this package is the way to go...

detailedReviews 62: content: Purchased this before an international trip and it's been of great use since. This bundle comes with the camera, two magnetic mounts, 2 extra batteries with a charging case and the extendable rod. Picked up a travel case and extra accessories on Amazon which makes this super neat for travel use! Pictures and video quality is great - we paired it with a 512GB SD card which we still haven't filled up yet :) Touch screen is very responsive and having the ability to set it up with a phone for extra features is great. Excited for each travel we have with this small but mighty action camera.

detailedReviews 63: content: So, you can use this as an action camera or just a 4k video camera. The quality is excellent and with the DJI mic 2 transmitter you can get 32 bit float( better audio level control) you have a powerhouse of a combo . Also, the stabilization can go from good to crazy good with horizon balancing. It's good enough to look like you are using a gimball with only a selfie stick. The adventure combo is the best one to go with, you get 2 extra batteries and a charging case . Each battery is about 2.5 hours . Cons: over heating, I was recording myself while driving and I got the overheating message. The good thing is the camera didnt stop recording it just put the front screen to sleep I was recording for at least 2 hours . Its probably best to not keep the front screen on the whole time . So all in all this is a great camera. Better than my go pro hero 8

detailedReviews 64: content: I always wanted one of these type of action cams for vlogs and travel, and this package didn't disappoint. It's a great deal to not only have 3 batteries but also a stick that I feel are essential when filming that type of content. It's a great introduction into these type of products and glad I got this before my trip. I should've bought one a long time ago. I love that it has the quick magnetic release, it's life changing. It looks great, and MUCH smaller than I had imagined when viewing this online. The size is perfect to not feel any weight or catch much attention when doing walking street shots. My gf also wants one now. I heavily researched before buying and DJI was one of the top 2 to get, but because of the value this already came with, it was a no brainer!

detailedReviews 65: content: My last action camera, the GoPro 10 Black, was excellent...when it worked. When it didn't it was extremely frustrating.
So far, with the Osmo 4, all the hang-ups of my GP don't exist, and in relation to other features, the Osmo is in a league of its own.
First, the givens and the "supposed to". The Osmo works when I need it to, and does what I want it to. No freezes. No stutters. The battery life is true to the display. If it says I have a certain amount, I haven't had a wild swing stating otherwise from video to video. Connection to the app is flawless and does what it says with little to no lag, this includes Android. I feel this was released as a finished product.
Now, the actuals. Battery. Battery life varies from mode to mode, but thus far, I'm impressed. Charges quickly and has given ample notice when a change may be needed. Once again worth mentioning, no wild changes in percentage from minute to minute.
Video. Stellar. Vivid. Gorgeous.
Photos. Rich in color and depth. Beautiful.
There are so many modes and settings to toggle, I still haven't mastered them all. But for whatever type of shot I'm looking to set-up, I've been able to set-up just what I need to get it...the first time.
Another win is the software. Being that I am also a veteran DJI user, I find their software very intuitive and easy to use. Transfer and viewing has been seamless. No oddities when connecting with a USB-C. This includes connecting to Windows. Plugging the camera up, it goes straight to storage with no need to handshake with any other software. Quick and easy. The live view on the phone is amazing. Clean image and virtually no lag. Again, amazed and thrilled in versatility as a content creator.
Another genius feature, is the magnetic mount. Often when changing the GoPro it can be tedious to unscrew, re-screw, unscrew, re-screw attachment to attachment. With this magnet mount I literally keep it in the case, undo the magnet, and connect it to the next thing.
This is such a welcome feature. And the magnets are strong enough that I have no worries of it coming off. This is great. I'm also extremely thankful that the screw base is compatible with all of my GoPro attachments. It would have been such a nuisance to have to re-buy everything just to fit a camera that fits the same dimensions. So just know, all of your GoPro gear should fit the Osmo.
Touchscreens are ultra responsive with no lag, even with screen protectors. And the displys are true to view with the FOV being mind-blowing!
The only thing missing is the 5K video from my Hero Black 10. But I rarely had the display to take full advantage nor did anyplace I was sharing, so not a big deal.
The Osmo is truly ready for whatever you throw at it, and I'm about to throw a lot more. This one is hard to beat!

It was a magnetic mount, being so that the camera wasn’t damaged and seem to be in working order. I simply message Best Buy to get a partial refund, I was told that I would have to call customer service and they could handle it for me. But after calling customer service, they said they are unable to do it and I would have to return the product for a full refund. This has become more of a headache than I thought it would be, so I guess my point is that be mindful that there may be issues and if your time sanity, is more valuable than 50 bucks, then I would suggest just buy it brand new

detailedReviews 68: content: Could not wait for this to be delivered (got online). The day arrived and I tore into that box with wild abandoned. I already own a OA3 and wanted to get the next gen. Here is the points of interest to me and maybe you.
Good:
1. larger sensor size (although lower pixels. which is good in this case)
2. touch screens on both sides are slightly more sensitive to make menu selection easier.
3. digital zoom (1.0-4.0)
4. D-log and low light settings added for better night time shots.
5. extra batteries and charge case (with the adventure kit) are a must for capturing your life longer.
6. included invisible stick (in adventure kit) makes further shots better with no pole in the way.
7. magnetic clip system, make it easy to switch from tripod to chest mount very quickly.
8. updated color profile makes them pop much better than previous versions.
9. QS switch is more responsive, so you can change on the fly with less issues.
10. file naming and processing has improved, thus making it smoother when editing on app or computer.
11. pre-record is a life saver for making sure you can capture quickly as the action happens.
Bad:
1. does not come with lens cover (not sure why)
2. was suppose to fit all OA3 accessories. they do, but very tightly. so it seems slightly larger then OA3 camera.
3. some settings are in sub menus, which make it hard to find in some cases.
I highly recommend this item for all that need a great action camera with easy to understand use. If you already have a OA3, this is a slight upgrade to a already great camera.

detailedReviews 69: content: Its a great little camera, but its really not much different then the Action 3 except for 2 things. The battery life, which is a tad longer then the Action 3 and larger sensor then the Action 3. Which for a night out on the town, is great. What has really sold me on this (which the Action 3 does as well) is the ability to use a wireless mic with out any extra stuff. This means you can use any wireless mic from a $30 cheap-O to the DJI $250 one. VS the Go Pro 12 or Insta 360, with those you have to buy adapters or something proprietary to their system. Another thing I do enjoy about this is the fact I can use all my Action 3 stuff, like the batteries so I dont have to go out and buy more. Vs the something like the Go Pro. I have a Go Pro 9 and I want to the 12, but this also means a lot of new stuff. Which I will, lol. But over all, I feel the DJI Action 4 is a really sold camera that will fill all your needs from anything action, to the simple daily vlog. Worth it.

What action camera doesn't have burst mode? This one! They also removed AEB, which was one of the best ways to get a great image from a small camera, or any camera for that matter. Something that I love it that this thing will go from full power down to on super quick, youll never miss a shot. Fast charging is something ive been wanting for a while and this has it ! Battery last about a 1hr - 1hr 20 thats while shooting a mix of 4k 30 qnd 4k 60 , I thought maybe id need to grab a extra battery but i dont it just last forever. UI is really dang good even with gloves on I can change what I want. Even better the front touch screen comes in clutch I dont have to take it off the mount to adjust anything any more. Video is top knoch colors are great and it keeps the video super steady. If your looking for a new action cam definitely put this on your list , plus with the new price decrease I think it tops out the current gopro selection.

detailedReviews 72: content: I use this as a vlogging camera mainly, and it is really good, the footage comes out amazing and it is the perfect discreet camera for introverts who don't want a giant camera out in public. It's also quite sturdy so you don't have to worry about dropping it. My only problem with it so far is that maybe because it's an action camera, but the storage space seems to be taken up much more compared to the Osmo Pocket (I have 128GB for both). But if you transfer footage to an external drive and delete it from the action 4 after, it seems to work fine anyways and isn't a major issue. Really recommend!

detailedReviews 75: content: Had the camera about a week now and I must say I would buy again. It’s small compact has loads of features and to top it all, it goes underwater. The menu’s are easy to navigate and voice control is a useful feature. The three batteries with the combo mean, if required I can shoot all day or use the charger as a power bank. Must admit, I am a DJi fan, I also own the Pocket 2, OM4 and Mavic Mini 2, so, this camera compliments my kit nicely.
Any negatives, well somewhere to secure the lens cover would be nice, but other than that, no.
What was annoying was, I went back to DJi for a neck strap and they wanted to charge me £5.95 for delivery, so I went somewhere else to purchase. DJi, you should look after loyal customers by offering better incentives, maybe free shipping.

Bc the audio is great for people just talking. But I use it for monster trucks and these mics simply can't handle it but my gopro mics handle the noise just fine. Second thing is the app, You NEED wifi to work the app which is ridiculous bc these cameras are meant for outdoors which well. Doesn't have wifi... lastly the battery lasts a long time but not the 160 minutes they claim. Mine lasts 1 hour and 50 minutes which is good but far off that 2.5 hour mark they claim. Best Feature:2nd touch screen and the new 1 inch sensor.
I've been eyeing to get an action cam for quite some time now. I'm very happy that I decided to go with DJI. I have studied the pros and cons of the action 4 to other action cams and it stood out the most for me because of its versatility and how the battery lasts longer. It also performs well in low light scenarios and the stabilizer is SUPER! I'll definitely recommend this to someone who's looking for an all rounder action cam. This will definitely spark my long lost passion for videography and editing. Thank you DJI! ❤️

detailedReviews 88: content: Got the DJI Osmo 4 to record mountain bike trail riding. The camera is very easy to use in automatic mode. I started using D-log and editing the colors after recording. The camera takes excellent stable video. I would highly recommend this action camera to anyone interested in trying out action videos. The 3 batteries included with this camera kit have come in very handy.

I bought it on a good deal with shopee discount! Make sure you have sdcard because standard doesn't come with one. Package, material, camera, everything is premium. Bestest action camera! Also get backup battery just in case. But you can also charge it directly with USB c. Look at the buyer count. This is a good buy!

detailedReviews 90: content: Great upgrade over my previous Hero10 with fast start up and recording.
Smallest and lightest out of the current top 3 action cams.
Removeable lens and lots of lens adapters on the market.
Magnetic mount is a quick way to move camera vs thumb screws.
Interface is quick and easy.
10-bit color.
Cons:
Not as sharp as the competition. Zoom is digital and it ruins quality. Low light performance is not as impressive.
Get the Ace Pro for better image quality, 2x clarity zoom, better low light performance, although no replaceable lens and bigger/heavier.

My first ever action cam and i choose dji osmo action 4 as my first baby. Have a lot of types of quality for video taking, buy higher GB for sd card if you guys want to film in 4k cause 128GB won't be enough.
For taking pictures, make sure to have a great lighting. If you're pro, play with the settings. I love the photos that i took while i'm at Penang.

detailedReviews 92: content: This DJI Action 4 is much better than the Gopro 12, IMHO, as I own both but found the DJI to record longer than the Gopro, on average about 13 minutes longer and has yet to freeze up. The Quick button is also very useful when changing custom settings for various shooting or recording modes. The quick mount system is amuch more convenient than then Gopro, hand down. Low light shooter is better than the Gopro as well apparently DJI's sensor works better. The Adventure Combo got everything needed and highly recommend, better deal than buying the included accessories separately. So far it's used much more often than the Gopro. HIGHLY recommended rhe DJI.

After surveying for weeks with other brands, I finally go with this. The best choice for my budget and safe to say I made the right choice. Bought it to record motovlog and the footage was so much better than my phone. I didn’t mess with the settings much since I’m just a beginner. Recommending this to everyone. Bought on 25.12 received on 27.12. Thank you!

detailedReviews 94: content: Bought this camera because I have a DJI mini drone so I figured the quality would be just as good or better. Couldn’t have been more wrong. The camera itself is very nicely designed and feels very sturdy, however if you are filming anything further than a foot away from the lens you can expect to have a pixelated image. Very disappointed especially since it is supposedly 4K. It’s still probably a good camera for up close first person action shots but anything else will not result in a video that is worthy of $500.
It does have several settings for image quality but even at its highest, you’d be surprised that your cell phone has a thousand times better quality.
Very disappointed with this purchase.

detailedReviews 96: content: Ordered items arrived with in 2 days. Well informed of the progress of package and delivery, well done Noel Leeming. Camera once set up is fantastic, plenty of reviews on YouTube. Battery lasts much longer than other action cameras. Video quality great at 4K resolution, internal camera microphones appear not to pick up wind noise not requiring a wind sock to soften external noises.

detailedReviews 98: content: Perfect action camera for underwater shoot and the video under water is so stable despite strong waves. Light cut app provide underwater filter which brings out the vibrant colour of coral without having to buy filter lens. Downside is, the 4k not exactly like 4k on pc. I shot 4k 60fps, but it’s turns out slightly blur on a 4k monitor. Watching on phone is perfectly fine. Easy to convert to 1080p 60fps too if your phone doesnt support 4k 60fpsHighly recommended this seller too, fast shipping, and responsive. And managed to send the telesin housing in few weeks when out of stock.

detailedReviews 99: content: The Action 4 is a fantastic action camera. This package in particular is a great starting kit as well. The footage I have gotten so far is very high quality, the camera is easy to use, and I love the magnetic attachment system.
I also love the easy access to the USB-C port allowing for easy charging or wireless mic use too. Overall when compared to my Hero 11, I would purchase this camera if I had to choose, but the GoPro app is definitely much better if that's something that's important.
Also for intro kits this kit is awesome as you get 3 batteries and a great charger. The extendable stick attachment is a solid accessory too.

Love the quality of the camera, it’s so beautiful even without color grading. All parts in the box feel solid and when used, it is convenient also build with quality. Definitely an amazing camera, original product. Even came with some free gift from the store itself. I have tested the motorcycle helmet attachment, results looks great.
