snippets: now for wiress connectivity using Bluetooth 5.3 I tried to find information on jbl's documentation as what's the range like nothing listed so you know walking around the second floor of my house here I was able to get about 45 ft with multiple walls and rooms in between as just walking around so the range is excellent it does support dual connectivity so you can connect to two devices at the same time if one of them happens to of your phone and it starts to ring it'll pause the content on your other device allowing you to quickly answer your call, talking about the amazing battery JBL claims with ANC on the battery last about 50 hours in my testing I got 56 hours with regular headphone mode so no special technology on they claim 65 hours which is a lot however with my testing in multiple weeks of battery drain which is really annoying but I got it done I averaged 87 hours so absolutely phenomenal battery life to recharge the headphones they say'll take about 3 hours and my testing that's true a lot of people might think wow 3 hours is a long time but look at the trade-off of the battery performance you're getting so a 1-hour charge will get you dozens of hours of usage so nothing to complain about there the USBC charging port to recharge the batteries located on the bottom of the the left ear cup

snippets: so now let's talk about the comfort of these headphones and this is one area where these headphones need big improvements so they have three major flaws in my opinion the first flaw is that the ear cups are very small so you can even call these headphones on ear headphones and not ere ear headphones because they're going to touch your ear and they're going to push your ear and when it's hot the ear cups tend to get very hot very fast the second major flaw in these headphones comfort-wise is that they clamp very hard on your head as soon as you put them you feel that the headphones are pushing in like a pair of pliers almost and they are really uncomfortable this way and the third flaw in these headphones is that the cushioning on the top here is very thin and very short so it will hurt your head also on top now what I talked about may be relative also to the size of the head so for kids these headphones are good in my opinion and also for people maybe that have smaller heads now I have like a normal head I think and my ears also are of a normal size and despite of this these headphones are very uncomfortable for me

on the right ear cup only with the addition of the oversized JBL logo it just makes the right side of the headphones look way too busy and I'll talk about the cramped controls later on, all the controls on the right ear cup starting at the bottom and working your way back and up the first button allows cycling between a ANC transparency and regular headphone mode ANC already explained is short for active noise cancelling transparency mode basically turns on the the microphones to hear your surroundings and project the sound into your cup so you can hear everything around you and then regular headphone mode is no special technology the next button is a Bluetooth pairing button after that is volume down holding it goes to the previous track the middle button is Play pause answer hang up a call and activating your smartphone assistant then volume up and holding that button obviously goes to the next track the last physical control is a slider control button, all right so here's the problem not only is having all the buttons on the right ear cut make it look crowded it is too crowded so for example when I'm trying to sometimes cycle between a and C transparency mode because I want to quickly talk to someone I accidentally press the Bluetooth pairing button and then I'm trying to pair Bluetooth it's really annoying that button should not exist what they should have done like most headphone manufacturers have the Bluetooth pairing functionality with the power control now because this is a sliding mechanism what they should have done is that when you slide the power hold it up for maybe 2 3 seconds and then it activates Bluetooth pairing mode this is overcrowded and I press the wrong buttons frequently I also accidentally press press the volume up button when I'm trying to press the play pause button because the groove indentations on the buttons don't make it easy to feel what I'm pressing so a lot of misfires here when it comes to the controls I'm not sure who decided that this is a good idea but it was not okay talking about controls on the right ear cup one more time on the right ear cup Al the off this surface is a touch surface so a single tap will play pause content you can also you know go to the next track previous track I found this a bit annoying and I prefer the physical controls so I just turn this function fun ality off in the app another disappointment here with the controls is that pressing and holding the play pause button is supposed to activate your voice assistant I've been using a Android device with Google Assistant it doesn't work these are the first headphones where it just simply does nothing um I also had it so that I disconnected all the devices only have my cell phone connected just doesn't work so kind of disappointing there but hey here's a saving grace that isn't too common on mid-tier priced headphones has passive play pause when you take off the headphones uh your content will pause when you put them back on they'll automatically resume playing and it works pretty well Okie do noise cancelling so I will say that overall I'm fairly impressed at this price point despite them being on the higher level of mider pricing they could have you know maybe passed for something at the premium priced headphones so something more the next expensive bracket but at the lower end of it it did fairly well so for low pitch sounds at a loud volume so like say uh an engine of a bus or plane it will do okay and you can watch stuff like documentaries um although you might have to increase the volume up for podcast and documentaries but it can work and it will pass when it comes to you know being in a crowded environment like a bus station or a train station whatever with a lot of people talking some of it will come through it's kind of what you expect to Mid TI your pricing but again if you want to play something like a documentary in my testing like I did it does the job it does okay um so overall this is a great traveling companion once you start playing something it'll be just fine um noise caning overall I was very pleased with it and yes you can adjust ANC levels although I didn't find that it was that sensitive but I just left it on Max a ANC anyway there is also transparency mode as I mentioned earlier I found that talking to people within 10 ft was crystal clear um even walking around my house I can hear my own footsteps while walking on certain like the hardwood uh very sensitive but that's a good thing because it makes it feel more natural as if you're actually listening to your surroundings regular headphone mode and noise cancelling it's okay it's not much to talk about they're over the ear headphones so they do kind of suppress Some Noise you only want to do regular headphone mode to conserve battery but in this case there's no need because the battery is superb and one more thing that's available here but not typically on all mider price headphones is syto mode which basically allows you to hear your own voice how loud you're speaking and your surroundings you know if that surrounding noise will be captured on the phone call you can hear all that and you can turn that functionality on and off in the app

snippets: now for wiress connectivity using Bluetooth 5.3 I tried to find information on jbl's documentation as what's the range like nothing listed so you know walking around the second floor of my house here I was able to get about 45 ft with multiple walls and rooms in between as just walking around so the range is excellent it does support dual connectivity so you can connect to two devices at the same time if one of them happens to of your phone and it starts to ring it'll pause the content on your other device allowing you to quickly answer your call, I'm not sure how many devices you can put into memory before having to pair and learn all over again because nothing's listed on the JBL website or documentation but I was able to get three devices which is going be fine for most people so everything sounds so far so good except for the accessories because the traveling case is just a soft traveler's pouch I know this is mid-tier priced headphones but we're on the top level of mid-tier pricing they should have been a hard traveling case at this price point
