What’s Not Perfect / What to Watch Out For 👀
1. Display Limitations
Still 60Hz refresh rate—no ProMotion, no OLED or mini-LED. So if you care about smooth UI scrolling, video editing with HDR, etc., you’ll feel the difference compared to MacBook Pro models.
Brightness is decent (500 nits claimed), but in direct sun or super-bright settings might feel just “okay.”
2. Thermals / Sustained Load
Because it’s fan-less, sustained heavy workloads (long video exports, heavy compilation, maybe running VMs) will push it hard. Thermal throttling is a possibility under sustained load.
For day-to-day thing, no issue. But for heavy pro work, might hit limits.
3. Storage & Base Spec
Base model starts with 16GB RAM, 256GB SSD. If you do anything moderately heavy (video editing, big photo libraries, VMs, etc.), 256GB will fill up fast.
Upgrading storage or memory from Apple is expensive. So you may need to decide up front.
4. Port Selection is Minimal
Only 2 TB4/USB-C ports + MagSafe + headphone jack. If you need HDMI, USB-A, SD card — you’ll need dongles or a hub. Standard complaint.
5. Price vs Pro Models
Depending on your usage, Pro models offer things this Air doesn’t: higher refresh rate displays, more ports, better sustained performance, etc. If those are important, it might be worth stretching.

If I were you, I’d buy this if:
You want a large screen without going full Pro – good balance between portability and workspace.
Mostly everyday to semi-heavy tasks: coding, photo editing, productivity, streaming, creative software but not ultra-heavy renders.
You value battery life, silence, and lightweight (so, frequent travel or carrying around).
You don’t need (or don’t want to pay extra for) top tier display features like mini-LED, ProMotion, ultra-bright HDR.
It’s less ideal if:
You’re doing long render jobs, video editing at high bitrate, big 3D work.
You want super fast refresh rates, OLED or mini-LED displays.
You need lots of ports / legacy connections.
You’re someone who always pushes performance; then a MacBook Pro might be a better long-term choice.

Verdict: Is It Worth It?
Yes, if your priorities lie in portability + decent performance + battery life and you want a 15-inch screen without jumping to a Pro. It hits most of those well.
If you already have an M3 or M2 Air/Pro – the gains are nice, but are they big enough to justify the cost? Maybe not, unless you need the external display support or the slightly better CPU/GPU performance.
If I had budget constraints, I’d probably get the Air M4, upgrade storage to 512GB (if I can), maybe RAM depending. The sweet-spot seems to be the base specs + upgraded storage (for future-proofing).

items 4: content: I just switched from a MacBook Pro to a MacBook Air, and honestly, it’s pretty cool! 👍 But the keyboard is kinda harder to type on compared to my old Pro. Also, the Air doesn’t have many ports, so I had to buy a USB-C dock to plug in all my stuff.
If you’re thinking about getting a MacBook Air, trust me, definitely get AppleCare+ directly from Apple store. it gives you 3 years of warranty for about ₹20k which protects your investment, and it is totally worth it so you don’t have to stress.
One annoying thing is the price for upgrading the storage to 2TB, it’s daylight robbery, and I wish it was cheaper. Also, if you want really fast data transfers, make sure you get a Thunderbolt cable!
Overall, the Air is awesome but could be a bit better, so I’m giving it 4 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐
