detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: Note: I play on LG G1 OLED with panel capable of 120hz and VRR.* The PS5 pro is everything that Sony built it up to be. Increased fidelity in higher frame rate modes with a little extra (PSSR) to boot. So far the games that I have tested (Horizon Forbidden West, Dragons Dogma 2, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, and Black Ops 6) all perfom better than they did on the regular PS5 and those games in the list that are optimized by the developers for PS5 Pro feels like I’m playing them for the first time again, the upgrade is that impressive. Dragons Dogma 2 which had the pro patch on release day of the PS5 Pro looks so good in performance mode and I am getting a stable 60 FPS median in Balanced mode with ray tracing effects on. Before on the PS5 original, i was getting 30FPS with ray tracing on. To make things sweeter, PSSR brings out another level of detail in far ranging graphics this was noticable in Dragons Dogma 2 and Horizon Forbidden West more than the others. That all being said, a couple of the games i tested, Black Ops 6 and Cyberpunk 2077, which do not have PS5 Pro patches (cyberpunk might not ever have it) play just a bit better but if you werent OCD about graphics like I tend to be you probably wouldnt inow which console you were playing on if the images were side by side. This was very dissappointing as I believed the upgraded hardware itself could take these games to a new level of fidelity but it does not. At the time of writing this black ops 6 still gas not released its pro patch and my hope is that the unsightly graniness in 120hz mode might be solved by PSSR. I think we will see the true test of its capabilities in games further doen the road which will be produced to cater to the upgrade of the PS5 pro and not just patches for older titles, which is very exciting. All in all, the ps5 pro is worth the expense if you want the best graphics, which I did. I think it is worth noting again like i did in the beginning of this review that having a good TV set to really bring out the detail is important too. Especially one that unlocks the features of this console, VRR, 120hz so its potential can be realized. If you do not have a set that can atleast produce those outputs I would pass on the PS5 Pro.

title: Impressive fidelity and frame rate upgrades
detailedReviews 2: content: I think the new Sony PlayStation 5 Pro console is a really great and very powerful machine honestly, i really like the design of the system and it's very easy to set up and easy to take off the side plates to add an M.2 SSD drive for extra storage and to add a disc drive as well for if you play physical disc-based games. And when you power on the console it is easy to set up and go through the on-screen instructions and to sign-in to your PlayStation Network Account as well, and i noticed the user interface is a bit faster on the Pro as well when navigating on the home screen and the layout of it is exactly the same as the standard PS5 console too so there's no change there to that.
I also really like the way your games play on the PS5 Pro as well because some of your existing PS5 games that you have in your Game Library are PS5 Pro Enhanced which means they take advantage of the console's new features that it has in the new Pro graphics modes in the games, like the new AI upscaling technology PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution or PSSR for short which uses machine learning which upscales from a lower resolution of 1080p or 1440p in the game up to 4K and adds an extraordinary amount of more detail to the visuals in the games and it looks great i really like it a lot. And the Pro also keeps the games at a higher 60fps frame rate as well thanks to larger and faster GPU power and also adds a lot better Ray-Tracing to the games as well which makes the reflections on surfaces like windows and water look more realistic and shine more, and there's a big difference in the games too thanks to the new advanced Ray-Tracing technology in the PS5 Pro and that's great i love it. So the games do look great and amazing with these new features and i love playing them on the Pro they play really smooth and a lot better too it's great honestly.
And the Pro also makes your PS5 games that are not Pro Enhanced more smoother and run better as well thanks to the Game Boost feature and that is good i like that too.
The PS5 Pro also has an option that enhances the image quality of some of your older backwards compatible PS4 games as well, and it is like a post-processing filter that sharpens the game's image and makes it look better and cleaner too, and it's a toggle that's off by default and you can turn it on and off at any time in the system settings under Screen/Video, and it does look good when it's on in the games and it's a nice thing to have as well if you play some of your older PS4 games on the PS5 Pro and i like it.
And the PS5 Pro is really quiet too and the fan noise doesn't really get that loud and it's really quiet i like it.
So overall the PlayStation 5 Pro is a really great console and it is a lot more powerful than the standard/original PlayStation 5 console as well, and the new features that it has under the hood are really great and i love it honestly it plays your games a lot better and smoother and It's awesome truly. And i don't regret upgrading from my original PS5 console to the Pro and purchasing it either, because it's great and i absolutely love it a lot for me personally and I'm very happy with it as well.

title: Powerful machine with great AI upscaling
detailedReviews 3: content: I got this ps5 pro in november for my own birthday present as I am unfortunately disabled with a auto immune spine disease called ankylosing spondylitis.
Even though I am in pain 24/7 gaming really distracts me from the pain I am going through. I decided to get the pro despite me already owning the playstation 5 witb a disc drive because the launch edition ps5 I use to have had only 825gb of storage and I found out right away that really struggled with performance. I also have a gaming pc with a 7800x3d and a 4070ti super and I love using DLSS and raytracing at 4k ranging from 60-144 fps so I know how benefital a.i upscaling and raytracing features are and how much performance it brings. So thats why I sold my regular ps5 to get it.
Now this ps5 pro comes with 2tb of storage more than 2x the storage of the ps5 launch edition. The gpu is technically almost 50% faster and this is whats interesting the regular ps5s gpu has 16gb of gddr6 vram however the ps5 pros gpu has 16gb of gddr6 memory and another 2gb ddr5 to run the systems os so the 16gb of gddr6 vram can fully be utilized in the pro version unlike the regular ps5..
Now a lot of people are complaining about lack of a disc drive which I dont think is fair to complain about it as all pcs dont come with a disc drive in fact most people with pcs use external disc drives. I plan on buying a external disc drive for the ps5 pro in the future. I can't now hecause of all the scalpers have them and its out of stock in most retail markets. However with ps plus premium there are so many games that you can download without the need of paying $70 for them most exclusives are now on ps plus premium with ps1-ps4 games also.
I love how the pssr works it is not as good as dlss yet but defintly is better than fsr3 and i am impressed I was able to play gran turismo 7 @4k 120 fps on my hdmi 2.1 tv and it was impressive! I do not have a 8k tv so I wasnt able to test out the 8k@30 fps feature yet. But I love how I can play raytracing games on my console at upscaled 4k 60 fps just like I can do on my pc. I highly recommend the ps5 pro to anyone who doesnt even have a ps5 yet.

title: Significant GPU boost and better ray tracing
detailedReviews 4: content: When paired with a TV capable of 120Hz at 4K with VRR, the PS5 Pro can be a worthwhile upgrade. I use this with my 77" LG G4 OLED Evo TV, and it definitely highlights all the capabilities of the PS5 Pro. As someone who usually games on a PC with a Nvidia RTX 4090 on a 4K 240Hz OLED monitor, I feel like I have been spoiled with both image quality and motion clarity that my base PS5 could not dream to compete with. Does the Pro compete? Absolutely not, but it definitely closes the gap and has made couch gaming more enjoyable.
On the games I have tested so far, the new "Pro" graphical setting gives similar visuals as the "Fidelity" or "Quality" mode that usually locks you in at 30 FPS but now offers similar FPS to the "Performance mode". You are basically getting the best of both worlds now. On the "Pro" setting, I was averaging between 60-90 FPS when unlocking framerates.
If you are after FPS, you can use the "Performance" mode that is also available on the base PS5. In games like TLOU2 and GoW Ragnarok, I would average between 60-90 FPS on the base PS5. On the PS5 Pro on performance mode, I am now averaging about 90-120 FPS. In many cases, across multiple games, I was averaging between 20-30 FPS more on the PS5 Pro than the base PS5.
Other than performance, the Pro does come with 2TB of storage which is great. The biggest con about the Pro is that you have to buy the disk drive separately which is completely asinine.

title: Worthwhile upgrade with 120Hz and VRR
detailedReviews 5: content: I was on the fence about grabbing this at
release, but since my original 5’s disc drive had gone out prompting me to start thinking about getting a slim replacement and the drive, I ended up grabbing it and reserving judgement on it till I had played on it for a bit. After using for the last 8 months daily I can say without reservation that extra money spent does not go to waste particularly if you truly enjoy the higher frame rate and graphical performance that the money goes toward. I have enjoyed the performance boosts I’ve noticed in games like Spider-Man, Hogwarts Legacy, Space Marine 2 was much better performing than what I saw on the base current gen console and version of game. This is not to mention the boosts that ps4 games I still play exhibit, though with them the base ps5 may improve upon them enough in itself. My suggestion is that if you have a well functioning base model hold off, but if you are looking to get one for the first time or replace your original, then the pro at the added cost is well worth the additional investment. I say all this without even factoring in the size of the SSD, which after adding 2 TBs, and connecting 1 more TB of external SSD I now have my entire library of games from the ps4 on at my disposal. The internal SSD nearly justifies the additional cost itself when you consider how much buying an SSD to add costs. Anyway buy with confidence, it’s a solid machine!

title: Noticeable performance boosts in enhanced games
detailedReviews 6: content: So, this is still pretty new.
Good, bigger SSD, so yep, mOre games. Yes, you can still add a M.2 so more wil be added soon.
So i have focused on playing Horizon Zero Dawn, and The Last of Us.
[I haven't tried any PS4 games yet, to see how much better they are, as I am concentrating in The Last of US]
It has been a while since I have played the first Horizon, and I did not look at the remaster on the normal PS5, so I went straight in with the pro.
To say it looks stunning is an understatement. It seems to be running very smoothly and it just looks beautiful.
Last of Us, you can see why they used this game so much in the trailers etc, again, it is a very good upgrade. I am playing this on the free PSN version, so trying to get through it quickly while I can.
When I stop to look at details, and just notice things as I am moving along, again, everything looks very smooth, and everything looks so detailed.
They did a great job with this game, and the PRO is really showing it off.
I added the disk drive from my slim, and yeah, a couple of minutes all done no issues. When you boot it just says to register, and sorted.
IF you don't have a PS5 yet, get this.
If you have a PS5 or PS5 slim, and need another, get this. If you have either of the PS5s, and fancy a bit of a boost in the graphics, get this,
I always used the PS5s in the best graphics modes, unlike 75% of people who favoured framerates. THis hasn't been too much of an issue, but perhaps it didn't help me with online play where input lag can be an issue. I certainly was never consistent before....
THere isn't much to add about the controller, it is the same as, but if you don't have any PS5 yet, the controllers add so much, the triggers are awesome, and do add to the game experience.
I am using the Edge controller, where you have the option, to greatly reduce the trigger pull therefore making your inputs so much faster. I am not using that option as I do like the trigger effects that much. Maybe if I go online i will change that, but for offline, going with the trigger haptics all day.
0verall, pretty happy.
Less happy if the PS6 is only 2 years away, but, I feel like the original estimates of 4 years is probably closer, even if Xbox does make an early entry in 2 years, trying to get ahead of Playstation, the PRO is there to fight the corner until the 6 comes out and kicks ass even more.
THis will be spec'd out with a Sabrent 4TB SSD, disk drive, and with the Edge controller. It will stay white as who cares, I am not looking at it, and all the controllers are white so, who cares.
IT is going to be an expensive rig, but if you are after the best PS can offer, its the way to go.

title: Stunning visuals and smooth gameplay experience
detailedReviews 7: content: I'll start by saying that the price of this console is obscene and that I got a discount when buying which made the price around £600, which is more reasonable. It's a shame that Sony decided not to include a disc drive SKU but it's great that Very have bundled them together, otherwise getting a disc drive has been almost impossible.
Otherwise, this has been a good upgrade from my base PS5 with a disc drive. You get an extra 1.1TB of usable storage (2TB, 1.7TB accessible, up from 660GB). There's an extra 2GB of RAM that the system uses exclusively, freeing up the 16GB RAM for games. A slightly faster GPU and 8k resolution support (which is kind of pointless, since games struggle to run acceptably at 4k and 8k TVs are ridiculously expensive).
You also get a standard controller in the box as well.
The disc drive is easy to install. The cover snaps on and off easily and the insertion of the drive is straightforward.
Transferring data from my old PS5 was easy but the process could be better explained. The guide makes sure that your new and old console are on and connected to a network. What it doesn't tell you is that you can use an ethernet cable connected to each PS5 to drastically speed up the transfer. I was quoted 3.5 hours over WiFi and it was 30m over the ethernet cable.
I highly recommend this product but not at £800. Sony should reduce the price at that more people can enjoy this console.

title: Good upgrade with extra storage and RAM
detailedReviews 8: content: The PS5 Pro does exactly what it advertises to do - it plays the same games but better. How much is that worth to you? I think most people would say "not $700 plus tax plus a disc drive". That's fair.
But for people who live and breathe gaming like me, it's worth every penny to have the best experience possible. If your biggest and most important hobby is gaming then this console is for you.
Games that don't advertise pro patches can be surprisingly better for one reason - unlocked frame rates lock into a good fps. I've played Trails through Daybreak, the most random title, and it had fps drops. I thought there would be no difference at all, but it was noticeably locked to 60fps on the pro. Ditto for Metaphor Refantazio, or I hear, for Elden Ring.
Alan Wake 2 with Ray tracing is so good that I can't even imagine playing it without. Your flashlight, which is ever present for the entire game, casting light and shadows without Ray tracing would be sad in comparison. There is a caveat about shimmering in this game - it can be noticable. But I feel the gains outweigh the shimmering. Which you can reduce by turning motion blur off.
The extra storage is also a neat little bonus. I think most people that needed it already expanded their PS5, but if you were holding out then it's a good bonus.
All in all, there's a lot of games I want to play that have a pro patch. And many games out there with unstable frame rates. I'm looking forward to Star Wars Outlaws, Silent Hill 2, immediately.
If you game on PS5 and it's your life, this is the way to have the best experience possible.

title: Best experience for dedicated PlayStation gamers
detailedReviews 9: content: I'm a huge fan of the original Playstation 5. The fast storage and dualsense controllers stood out as the biggest advancements to me. But if you have the latest and greatest tv and want to play the latest games with all the eye candy it is capable of, you are stuck with an annoyingly low fps. And if you want better fps, you're stuck with a lower resolution. And usually there is no balance to both. The pro was advertised to address those issues and from the games I have played so far, it delivers. As many have pointed out, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth plays dramatically better on the pro and other games also show an improvement. The improvements vary from game to game. I also appreciate the 2TB storage. I won't have to rush out and buy an additional ssd anytime soon. The only disappointment is the disc drive. Not because I had to pay extra for it. But because at the time of this review, the disc drive add on is sold out at all the major retailers. So if you have a physical game library like I do, the only way you can get one is by buying one from a scalper. Luckily, I bought a disc drive a month before the pro came out. If you have a physical PS5 library, I would wait until these get back in stock. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase, but this is not going to be for everyone. If you're a casual gamer and already have a PS5, I wouldn't recommend it. But if you have the money to spend and have a monitor or TV will all the bells and whistles, you won't be disappointed.

detailedReviews 10: content: This console is nothing short of a monster, but don’t let that fool you. If you just upgraded from the ps4 to the ps5, or you don’t play often enough to justify the price for the “possible quality benefits” then it’s most likely not for you to be honest! HOWEVER, if you love playing games in your free time, you enjoy super quick loading speeds with beautiful 4k 60-120fps games consistently, then yeah this is your best bet. You know that performance mode that often causes too much lag to use? No longer! And also console storage? Almost a problem of the past, with the starting 2 Tb of storage I haven’t had to worry once yet, upgrading from the 500Gb ps5. Here’s what it feels like to want, and get, this console: At first it’s the indecision to switch from the ps5 to the ps5 pro, next it’s the pretty penny that’s gone from your pocket to get the current most GORGEOUS upgrade in a console gaming system, AND a new 4k OLED TV to match the console’s potential. And with that I feel that the ps5 pro is the best console I’ve ever shelled out any money for however it’s easy to understand how many could see otherwise!

title: Beautiful 4K 60-120fps gaming consistently
detailedReviews 11: content: First of all, its expensive, too expensice for a console. However, I game on a 77 inch oled and sit about 8 feet away. Games like Final Fantasy Rebirth, Alan Wake 2, and Star Wars Outlaws were noticeably blurry to the eye on tbe regular ps5. Ot was like you were playing this high end system with nice graphics, but they ran out of juice for the resolution part. It was like playing the game through the bad lense at the eye doctor. Anyway, the ps5 pro fixed this with more horespower and pssr. Those games I mentioned, among others like Hogwarts Academy and Dragon age Veilguard look super sharp and crips. This not only makes it look like you booted up a high end pc, but it also adds depth and immersion. I feel like i see kore of the background and the worlds are more expansive. Now, i you have a tv 55 inches or less and you sit 10 or more feet from your tv, this honestly might not be a good purchase for you. The change might be barely noticeable in that situation. Anyway, im still yet to play any game thet was 30 fps only on the vanilla ps5 or see one thst has added ray tracing, but im sure that will be good too.

title: Sharp and crisp visuals on large OLED TVs
detailedReviews 12: content: There's a lot of hate surrounding this device. Most of it is unfounded. The price point is high, and the tangible stuff you get doesn't seem like its worth it. No disc drive, no upright stand, the horizontal feet are kind of cheap looking. Sony also missed the chance to have something major drop built for the PS5 Pro that would showcase its power. There that's the negatives out of the way. The games I've played have had varying amounts of improvements. The one thing I have to say about the games with enhancements. Think of a hamburger. If you add salt and pepper.. you enhanced it. But its still not a steak. If you keep that in mind you'll be a happier person. Each game is very different in the amount of improvements. FC25 the lighting, gameplay and subtle details to players is a very noticeable improvement, Spider-Man Remastered... looks and plays amazing! Its more in line with the PC in the ray tracing and frame rate (in line not better than max settings don't at me) Call of Duty stable 120 frame rate, butter smooth.. there are others not so noticeable Dragon Age frame rate is definitely better but visuals are about the same. First Descendant the same. Stellar Blade VAST improvements. I could go on but you get the idea. Milage for each game will vary. That bein said, as more games come out built with the PS5 Pro in mind we should see a big uptick in improvements.
Should you buy? IMO if you have an old PlayStation 5 or are in the market to get one, this would be the one to choose. If you have a slim or the Sony anniversary edition, I wouldn't make a special purchase right now, maybe wait for a sale. Of course its your money do what you like, just go into it with the right expectations and you'll be happier. I don't regret it and I'm enjoying it.

title: Varying improvements, some games are a big leap
detailedReviews 13: content: Getting a PS5 Pro is a decision that I do not regret. It has already been a transformative experience by providing substantially better graphics (details, resolution, etc) while also delivering better framerates than before. There are already roughly 100+ games that are either Pro enhanced or arriving shortly. In addition, the system can boost image clarity for all PS4 titles, and the automatic boost mode essentially ensures that any game you throw at it will perform better. Playing games with dynamic reaolution are startlingly different/improved thanks to the Pro’s significantly better GPU. This console simply csn’t be beat for the price, especially when compared to PC. A comparable PC with similar specs is easily twice as much in price as the PS5 Pro (even more expensive for prebuilt PCs), plus PC gaming is filled with rampant cheaters, buggy/bad game ports, and you have to deal with the cancer of Windows OS. Save yourself a giant headache and get a PS5 Pro instead.

detailedReviews 14: content: The people rating this PS5 pro 1 stars are either self entitled fanboys or just plain ignorant consumers. The PS5 Pro is for enthusiasts, not your average gamer. The extra power in the Pro, along with the PSSR technology, makes most games play & look even better. Being able to play games like Dying Light 2 in 4k 120 VRR mode, when the game plays at 1080p 60 on the base PS5, is an absolute game changer. Spiderman 2 pops like never before & HZD remaster is probably the best-looking game ever made on console. This thing has wifi 7, so it makes it future proof as well! It comes with a 2 TB internal drive & has a smaller footprint than the base PS5. The technology in this Pro would easily cost $1200 or or more if u were buying a PC. Dont listen to the people saying, "Just get a PC." Playstation gamers dont need PCs when they have the PS5 pro. All in all, this is well worth the money, but it is definitely more geared towards the hardcore enthusiasts in the PS ecosystem.

detailedReviews 15: content: Well, I’m officially a PlayStation guy now. After hearing people say the PS5 Pro isn’t much different from the original or the slim, I had to see for myself. Luckily, my partner’s brother has a PS5 Pro, and after playing on both it’s clear there’s a huge difference. The gaming experience on the Pro is just next level—smoother gameplay, faster GPU, and a future-proof build. If you want a higher frame rate and extra storage, the Pro is definitely worth the $300 extra. If that doesn’t matter to you, go with the slim.
I’ve always been an Xbox guy and still think it’s a great console, but PlayStation wins for me with its exclusive games, innovative controller, and immersive single-player experiences. I’m glad I made the switch! The setup was way easier and faster than Xbox, and the UI is just smoother overall. I still have my Series S, but honestly, I haven’t missed it at all. PlayStation just feels like the better choice now.

This thing when it’s programmed right makes games look really great at high performance. That said, there are clear. Examples were developers are not utilizing the technology efficiently and Soni needs to step in to help people make their games look great. Examples include silent Hill, avatar.

title: Stabilizes games with less than ideal performance
detailedReviews 17: content: I've had the PS5 PRO since launch. For me it's a big improvement over the base PS5. Most game consistently hit 60 fps with a higher quality image with less artifacting. Games that struggled to stay in VRR window before manage to do so. The Pro works well in 120 Hz mode.
My only complaint is that Playstation had an opportunity to add n higher bandwidth HDMI 2.1 output. So games in 120 Hz mode lose some of the higher color detail. So I mostly play most games at 60 Hz. I also think this was a missed opportunity to add a Low Framerate Compensation mode.
Otherwise I'm impressed with what the PS5 PRO does. It helps improve games with variable resolutions and improves games that struggle to hit their framerate targets. Of course most PS5 PRO enhanced games are a big improvement. PS5 PRO is a big improvement if you have a 120 Hz VRR TV or not. You will get more out of it with a higher refresh set.

detailedReviews 18: content: The PS5 Pro is a great console. I'm running it on a regular 43inch 4k 60hz television, so none of the fancy stuff, but I can still notice a difference in PSSR. However, it's mostly for PS5 Pro Enhanced games. I believe the console was made for regular 4k televisions to enhance the quality which it did for me. Because wirh a big screen with with VRR and all that stuff, you sorta have a PS5 Pro but in a form of a display. Well that's what I think. If you want the most of it and experience everything, then a 120hz display with VRR would be the way to go. I feel like the only difference with a setup like that is that you'll have a bigger picture to appreciate everything at a larger scale, but also you'll have more room to work with the graphics settings IF the games let you. I give it a 4 star because of the pricing. I don't agree with it, but can understand Sony in a way. Other than that, it's a really good console, but nothing too crazy either. I guess it's also future proofing your future gaming life so that's a plus

title: Noticeable difference in PSSR for enhanced games
detailedReviews 19: content: First of all know what you are buying. I see no point of people saying they are surprised there is no stand or disc drive. So you casually spend $700 without researching your purchase? If you’re ok with those missing or buying them separately then the real question is this worth the extra money? I think that depends on several factors. Obviously the nicer your TV is the better value this will be. Keep in mind for the extra money your getting more then just a better GPU. You’re getting 2TB of storage (1.89TB available) which is more than double the standard PS5. Wifi has been upgraded to Wifi 7. They added 2GB more ram as well. Is it night and day better? No not really. But is a PS5 pro enchanced game noticable? I would say yes it is. Horizon remastered pro on an OLED is absolutely gorgeous and thats after playing the original PS5 version and its sequel. If you have the means ans you want the best visual quality on a growing list of games on console this is a worthy choice.

detailedReviews 20: content: I love the PS5 Pro. Playing games @ 120fps 4k is AMAZING! This IS gaming. I really enjoy the better graphics through the improved CPU/GPU performance. I was also surprised and enjoy the fact that they gave the operating system a dedicated 2GB of RAM so the the other RAM can be allocated specifically for gaming. I didn't care for the fact that the system did NOT come with a disk reader however it's the best console I own. I also moded the case bringing more cool air into the system as well as a cooler on the back with 3 fans and a stand that exerts air from the bottom as well. Also, included a USB hub on the front for more connections and a NACON controller which I swear by and LOVE. Great machine. After months of having it, I can say the extra money for the PRO edition IS worth the extra money. Thank you Best Buy for making it all possible!

detailedReviews 21: content: Upgraded from the PS5 and with a number of patches out already there is noticeable improvement. The ML model for PLSS should be improving with continued iterations, so hopefully even some games held back by the limitations of the nacent software upgrades will be better with time. Spiderman with performance pro, both the 1 remaster and 2, looks great. Alan Wake 2 shows significant improvement even if full implimentation is not complete.
If youre already in the market for a PS5 this is a great choice. May not be worth the upgrade if you already own one, so consider your overall setup before handing over the extra $200.
Disc drives are currently somewhat elusive so if your primary collection is physical this may not be for you until disc drives are more readily available. 2tb of storage goes pretty far, though.

detailedReviews 22: content: First, my thoughts on the price: You literally get what you are paying for. Don't listen to all the crybabies on the internet complaining about the price and no stand and no disc drive. Ironically, most of the crybabies probably purchased the original ps5 from scalpers for 700+ dollars. Do your research, look up Linus Tech Tips review of the pro on YouTube, at the 7 minute mark he breaks down theprice tag.....My thoughts on performance: The performance is amazing. I got rid of my original ps5 because I couldn't stand the fact that I had to pick between 30fps fidelity or 60s with muddy textures...the pro eliminates that ridiculous choice and let's you have both fidelity and 60+ fps. I've tested all my games and the difference is dramatic. What many reviewers aren't emphasizing enough is the fps boost. If you have the money, buy it. If you can't afford it, quit crying and hating on those who bought one. The worst part is the haters are saying things about the pro that aren't true....do your research folks...you are getting what you are paying for.

title: Eliminates choice between fidelity and frame rates
detailedReviews 23: content: Honestly after playing my bfs PS5 I decided to finally upgrade myself to the PS5 Pro after holding on to my PS3/PS4 and it does not disappoint. The graphics and load times are definitely better to me, but the regular PS5 is still fine as well. My tv only supports the 1440p/60 fsp/hrz so I can only imagine what the 120 fsp looks like. I think the price is reasonable for the Pro (lowkey not after taxes though because it adds like $50 unless you live in a tax free state). I remember paying like $500 back in the day for the first PS3 so for $200 more dollars to get what the Pro gives, I don’t feel too bad. I do however understand why not having a disc drive or stand included is irritating for the customer, but again for me it is still worth it. Overall, If you have the extra money, I say get the Pro. If you really don’t care that much or have a regular tv that can’t support the high features of the Pro, then stick with the regular. I play games like COD, The Last of Us and Tekken for reference.

detailedReviews 24: content: I had mixed thoughts at first about spending nearly double what I paid for my PS5 Slim for this one, but after using it for a few days now, I am glad I did. Comparing to my Slim, the Pro offers around 45% faster performance, which means smoother gameplay and much better graphics. In games that support it, the advanced ray tracing truly looks amazing as well, and I am currently trying it out as I write this review. I also love that Sony doubled the storage capacity from 1TB to 2TB with the Pro, which is great for me, because I store a lot of games, and when combining with my existing 2TB NVMe drive from my Slim, I have a whopping 4TB of storage, which should last me quite a long time. That new "PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR)" that supposedly sharpens images and improves frame rates actually appears to be working really well for games that would generally run pretty poorly on the Slim, so I look forward to seeing what that will do as the feature improves over time. Overall, even though it was a pretty penny to get this Pro model, I am actually satisfied that I did, as it will last me a long time (hopefully all the way to the PS6 Pro).

detailedReviews 25: content: Know what you are buying. These reviews that whine about this console not having a disc drive or not having a stand are obviously trolling or they don't research anything they buy. If you plan to drop $700 on something, you ought know what is included. I received exactly what I expected.
The system itself is great. On my OLED it brought in more fidelity without giving up the higher frame rates. I can't stomach 30fps anymore, it almost makes me motion sick. So, for me this was a perfect upgrade as I was always in performance mode in games and now I can have most of the fidelity mode AND the frame rates of performance mode. Gran Turismo 7 is fantastic with the Pro. Spiderman 2, I'm speechless.
I do not have a gaming PC, at this point in my life, this console meets my needs. I know a PC could outperform this system, but I have no complaints and it meets my expectations.

This current gen I had both Xbox Series X and OLED switch. It was time to get PS5 Pro and get in to that nostalgia from early Ps1 games to different JRPGs which solely are on PS or pc. I had many PS4 games still which run great, was able to get FVII Remake and recently there was a batch of FVII Rebirth Deluxe Edition. The controller is comfortable and high quality, and the console itself is sleek and well made. Graphics are incredible and rendering is quick. And the console loading screens are very very pretty. Doesn't seem to get hot much at all, even running big games and responds quickly. Box comes with a hdmi cable, dualsense controller and horizontal stand for the console, as well as a charging cable for the controller. Easy to set up and start using straight away, took me about 10 minutes to set up but could take longer if you need to set up a Sony account. detailedReviews 28: content: This review is just too offset the crybaby 1 star reviews. This is a significant upgrade to console gaming. Machine learning and 2-3x RT performance on console is a significant leap over current consoles.
If you know anything about tech, +40% speed and +65% computation for systems that are significantly optimized, will allow for significantly less diminishing returns than it's PC build counterparts.
All publications that have reviewed the console hands on, have noted that it's exceeded their expectations. That includes developers working on the console. And as far as any price to performance comparisons, no PC can be built for a similar price, even if you're budget shopping or buying used that will be as performant.
Once again, PC always had diminishing returns on power.

detailedReviews 29: content: So I told myself I wasn't going to spend $700 buying a PlayStation 5 pro when my current launch PS5 was doing perfectly fine but I went back and forth for the last few weeks since it had launched and after reading numerous reviews and seeing videos decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on it. I'll say that I haven't really tested any
PS5 pro enhanced games just because I've played all the ones that are enhanced numerous times but we'll see what it does in the future. The only game that I've played that's pa5 pro enhanced so far is Fortnite and I will say it does visually look slightly better but nothing game-changing being that the base model PS5 can run it in 4K 120 as well. Really it comes down to the future and what future games hold down as far as exclusives for PlayStation pro so only time will tell but so far I'm happy with it I mean it's running good and the games look fine on it nothing game-changing I can't say whether I recommend going out and buying it if you have a PS5 already just because there isn't that many PS5 pro enhanced games out and the ones that are there most of us have already played so it'll really just be how it looks in the future with upcoming exclusives also if you don't have the right display that can handle the console there's really no point in upgrading overall I'm happy with it. I'll just say its more of having the best version of the console and the smoothest experience when gaming for me which is why I chose to get it.

detailedReviews 30: content: The PS5 Pro is a fantastic upgrade for anyone who wants to get the most out of Sony’s console exclusives. As a primarily PC gamer, I really appreciate the boost in performance and visuals—it makes a noticeable difference in how games look and feel. While the PS5 Pro is on the pricey side, trading in or selling your original PS5 helps offset the cost and makes the upgrade much easier to justify.
That said, I was disappointed that a disc drive isn’t included by default. Since I still own a collection of physical PS4 and PS5 games, along with other media I like to watch, I had to buy the add-on separately. If Sony had bundled the drive in, the price would have felt completely fair.
Overall, though, if you care about higher fidelity and smoother gameplay, the PS5 Pro delivers an excellent experience and keeps console gaming competitive with a solid gaming PC.

detailedReviews 31: content: Been a console gamer since the Atari 2600 & Space Invaders. I think Sony overpriced the PS5 Pro, then left out the vertical stand & the Disc drive. I’m not knowledgeable enough to say the performance specs & ability truly is or isn’t meaningful. I have my day one launch version PS4. Also have a PS4 Pro; 7215B version (quieter & uses the small figure “8” power cord). The standard PS4 vs the Pro was definitely worth buying. So far the system has been better in areas & a miss in others. Sony (SIE) has rarely made a dud. If something fails it’s usually from not supporting it (Vita) vs it being poorly designed. I th8nk with time & the new PSSR learning games will be better overall & hopefully we won’t be buying a PS6 anytime soon.

Games like Dragon Ball Sparking Zero look better, and so do games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, Demon's Souls Remake and much more. PS4 games look better with PSSR like Bloodborne, Dark Souls III, Dishonored Definitive Edition, and others. I play Fortnite in 4k 120FPS with minimal frame drops. Stays mostly consistent at 120FPs. (4k 120FPS tv required.) I highly recommend this product, especially if you don't already have a PS5. Be aware that it doesn't include a disc drive or a stand but can stand on it's own. detailedReviews 33: content: Back when the PS4 Pro came out, I got it because I had a 4K 65" OLED and wanted to play Spider-Man the best way I could. When they announced the PS5 Pro, I had similar feelings for it. I spent most of 11/07/24 setting it up. Installing the disc drive for it, M.2, and stand. Now that I have a 77" LG OLED, I have to say it's pretty striking, the graphical upgrade that this machine produces is amazing. I have most of the games on its enhanced list, and going through them yesterday was nice. Is it worth 700 dollars? Your wallet will be the judge of that. Altogether this thing cost me $880 with the drive and stand. It is absolutely insane that Sony does not include them for this cost. Either way, I feel future-proofed to the end of the PS5's life cycle now. Not to mention Grand Theft Auto VI will likely support the enhancements. Looking forward to that.

Comes with 2TB of Console storage, thats more than 3x the storage in the PS5. I have an LG C2 which supports 4K 120fps. Played some games and I do see a marginal improvement. Horizon, Call of Duty to name a few. There are select games that are PS5 Pro enhanced, that can balance fidelity and performance up to 120fps. The only con is that there are limited amount of games available that are PS5 Pro enhanced, but there will be more in the near future. $700 is pretty steep, so the choice is up to you. detailedReviews 37: content: Delivered on the morning of the release day with everything as described. The fidelity and ray tracing enhancements, while not jaw dropping, are indeed noticeable when compared to the base PS5 on many AAA games - especially the Horizon and TLOU series. The big win is the increase in frame rate at up to 120fps while delivering 4K res thanks to PSSR. The 2TB internal SSD is well received too.
It is expensive for a console and the fact they did not even include a vertical stand or the option of a package including the disc drive may be a dealbreaker for some (hence 4 and not 5 stars). Further more, JL reduced the price by £40 within a week of the Pro's release but kindly compensated me for this price drop with a £40 e-voucher.
If you are seriously into console gaming and have the spare cash then I highly recommend the PS5 Pro but for more casual gamers &/or those on tighter budgets who already have the PS5 or Slim then this is a hard sale.

detailedReviews 39: content: I wasn't sure whether it was worth upgrading from my OG PS5, but in the end for various unrelated reasons I took the plunge.
Was it worth it? I don't know.
The biggest drawback is the lack of a disc drive. I have a number of physical games that I currently cannot play. Of course there is the option to install a disc drive sold separately (if you can get one) but that is additional expense on an already hefty price tag.
The Pro has 2tb SSD which is a considerable improvement over the original. With the removable SSD I swapped out of my old PS5 I now have plenty of space for games.
Competitively in terms of size, there's not masses in it but it does look sleeker than the original model.

detailedReviews 40: content: Best Playstation yet! I know... one can say this about any and every new product in most instances, but this really is quite powerful and if you have a newer TV that has full HDMI 2.1 support, you can tell a difference. It may seem slight at first but after a while the additional graphics power becomes immediately noticeable and you don't want to go back after that. I do admit thought that for the price, you do have do a doubletake and first. It also really seems like Sony should have included the higher end dual sense controller and they missed a huge opportunity here by not including it because if they did, it would make the whole setup unquestionably worth it. If you are on the fence, try it, after some time using it, you won't be disappointed, even if you don't like that it doesn't have a disc drive, that will slowly fade away as well and you'll just focus on the technical goodness it delivers.

Graphics on this unit is a bit better then the Ps5's but marginally and if you don't have a monitor/TV good enough to exploit those differences, you may not see these differences.
So I recommend buying this?
Yes.....but.....only if you have a monitor capable of showing you how good graphics coming out of this thing really is and ONLY if you can make the purchase comfortablly. Otherwise.....keep your PS5 disc version. Id you have the PS5 digital, go on and upgrade to this.

If you do have a PS5 already, and do not have a monitor or television which has VRF, this is not worth your money. There are some gains for any old 4K display - but it's a lot to pay for crisper looking leaves or grass in only some games. While many games with dynamic resolution scaling benefit without any patches, I recommend you look up details on the games you play to see if they have been upgraded for PS5 Pro. Hogwarts Legacy, the Horizon games and Stellar Blade are stunning - Helldivers 2... no difference unless you switch to quality then back to performance and the resolution jumps up a little (the grass is clearer). That's where this is at right now - it depends on which games you play, and which monitor you play on.

Even when I’m not playing the latest AAA game, I’m deep in The Binding of Isaac, and it runs buttery smooth. No lag, no delays just pure, chaotic dungeon-crawling bliss. I didn’t think I’d notice a difference on an “older” indie game, but even that feels upgraded.
Best Buy made it super easy to grab one and I couldn’t be happier. Whether you’re into cinematic blockbusters or cursed basement roguelikes like me the PS5 is 100% worth it.

detailedReviews 46: content: I bought this as I have been a playstation gamer since the original. I've had all the consoles since launch.
This to me is sonys greatest console ever. However the price is very high and also you need to buy the disc drive which is a further £100. Totaling £799 for console and disc drive. To the average consumer that is a huge chunk of money. You also have to have a newer TV with all the bells and whistles on it. Ie vrr. 120htz. 4k.hdr.etc. But once you have all that the difference is mind blowing in games that have been ps5 pro enhanced. Alan wake 2 is absolutely incredible. The details and the ray tracing effects are on another level. Every game so far I have replayed is outstanding in some sort of way. The ps5 pro also enhances certain ps4 games which is fantastic. Giving your old ps4 games a new lease of life. Would I recommend this product. Absolutely. But it is expensive. Very offer 12 months buy now pay later which is a lot less stressful on the wallet. If you are feeling on the fence over this product. Belive me when I say it is an outstanding piece of technology. This is the future of gaming.

detailedReviews 47: content: I like having the best and for PlayStation this is it. Some games really shine with the added power while others aren’t that discernible. This is definitely a luxury product and not a must have upgrade. It is a no brainer for those without a PS5 yet. The digital slim is $450 so this is $250 more. On paper $100 would cover the bigger hard drive and I would say the added power is worth the other $150 to have. Gets a little trickier if you need a disc drive but at least the option is there. They should have offered a $750 version with it like they do with the slim model. So you get the drive for an additional $50 in the slim models but will have pay $80 to add it to the pro.

detailedReviews 48: content: I 100% notice a difference. Yeah it's kinda pricey but it's what I wanted. I am also a video/screen nerd. The PS5 pro paired with my OLED LG 42in C2 for gaming is really awesome. I do feel like I am getting graphical capabilities from a mid level gaming PC on this console. It really depends on how you view this upgrade and if you have always only been on console. Console is all I've known and the PS5 pro has met my expectations. The only thing I WILL SAY is that it really depends on the TV/Monitor that you are using. If you have a generic 4k led tv capped at 60hz you are for sure missing out. OLED is king my friends. 4K/VRR/120 FPS/Extremely Fast Response Time/Infinite contrast and true blacks. Makes a big difference

Why market it as being able to set it vertically if that’s not what it’s meant for? Absurd. Anyway. Only bought this one in hopes my experience will be different this time around. You’d think a company like this would do better about certain issues, but I guess in a way they did. They included feet to set it horizontally and now you have to buy the stand separately. I guess that’s their “fix” huh? I’m salty about it because $500 isn’t cheap, and it only lasted about 2 years. But here’s to hoping this more expensive one will do better….?

detailedReviews 51: content: For this reveiw, I will start the things I do like about the PRO model. As a ps5 owner since launch, the main things that attracted me towards the PRO model was that of the promise of PSSR and the performace it could achive without compremising on fidelity. I do also appreciate the 2TB of storage, extra usb type c port in the front, and its slightly smaller form factor. However, as an early adoptor, I have yet to see great examples of a game running with high fidelity while maintiaing 60fps, except perhaps older games. Having to also purchase a disc drive makes the price higer to a gamer such as myself who uses physical media. The cons mentioned before and poor state of developer support on some titles is the main reason i only give the PS5 PRO 3 stars.

detailedReviews 52: content: So I bought this with already having the PS5, needless to say the Power Enhancement was very noticeable and I also like the added in Options. Only issue is that I'm a firm Believer I'm buying Disc Games, I don't like having to prove I own a game by having to be online to "Verify" my license....which in that statement alone means I don't really own it. Which is concerning to me. But Tons of Windows games, OS and other things do that and have done it forever. So I typically will buy the DL game when on sale ONLY the pickup the Disc Version as Deluxe or Collectors and keep it sealed. Kinda helps with collecting but does make life a lot more complicated in ways as well. But the truth being for what it is and all that was added no way to Complain, Maybe a Disc Drive already attached would be nice, and maybe a 4TB HD because these Games are getting way to big for little HDs.

detailedReviews 53: content: Owned and used the console for a few months now. Previously owned the base PS5 for 36 months. I've played both classics from PS4 and allegedly enhanced PS5 games again.
This much is certain. PS4 "Boost" is a dead set farce. The original PS5 "upscales" PS4 games as well as possible already and other titles claiming enhancements you actively have to try to spot a difference. It all ultimately depends what you play also. If you don't own a PS5 I definitely recomend getting a pro over a slim. A 2TB SSD does make a big difference I think. However if you own the base PS5 and most or all of your games are physical... You don't need this console.

At that price it would be nice if the disk drive was included, but it has a lot more internal storage and the drive can be added later ($80).
Overall nice upgrade and easy to transfer your account and data if you’re on the same network. Probably not mandatory and certainly with subtile improvements. One of my favorites (Ratchet & Clank - Rift Apart) really gets a visual boost when choosing the Pro Fidelity mode. Improvements in other games are far less obvious.

detailedReviews 55: content: This is definitely not for the casual gamer. The price tag is up there and especially the Christmas sales going on, you can get a regular PS5 at a better price which will suit most. If you are a hard-core gamer or a videophile type, this is geared towards you. PS5 Pro Enhanced games are certainly taking advantage of the upgraded hardware. I have noticed differences in several of the games I have played. Of course non-enhanced games get a bump too, but the enhanced games really shine.
If you really care about the visuals or getting every drop of framerate you can in your games, then this is for you. If you just enjoy playing games occasionally, then you will be better suited for the standard PS5.

detailedReviews 56: content: I’ve had the PS5 Pro for a couple of weeks now, and honestly, the upgrade feels worth it if you’re someone who really cares about performance and visuals. I play on a 4K OLED, and the difference in frame rate and ray tracing in supported games like Spider-Man 2 and Horizon Forbidden West is noticeable—everything looks smoother and more detailed.
Load times are slightly faster than my standard PS5, but not drastically so. What really sold me is how stable the Pro runs under heavy load—it’s quieter and runs cooler, which is a big deal in long sessions.
That said, if you’re a casual gamer or mostly play less demanding games, the difference might not justify the price. Not all games have Pro enhancements yet, so it feels a bit like early adoption.

detailedReviews 58: content: The PlayStation 5 Pro is for sure the best place to play for console gaming. If you can afford it and you don't already have a PS5 then go for it! But you should be aware the console does not come with a disc drive you have to purchase that separately and getting one is easier said than done, unless your willing to head to online stores and pay at least 50% scalpers fee. I'm extremely upset by this, I still do not have a disc drive so I'm unable to off load my old machine unless I'm willing to miss out on all my physical games. This was a stupid decision Sony made and now it appears Very are selling them bundled with the machine but not by itself so early buyers are out of luck. I get it's probably to stop scalpers but maybe find a way for proven buyers to grab one. Any way, yes the console itself is great and the games look amazing but it's not without issues as mentioned.

detailedReviews 59: content: It’s clear Sony is laying the foundation for whatever the principles and philosophy of PlayStation 6 will be with the PS5 Pro. PSSR, their up-scaling, AI-machine learning proprietary design, allows the system to enhance games and do much of the heavy lifting without needing developers to implement things in a way that costs time and money.
The additional TB of storage capacity over the regular PS5 is a nice addition that I think is overlooked as well. The system is shockingly small and rather quiet for a machine that is so powerful and capable of extraordinary output. I could be playing Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer for hours and the PS5 Pro would remain as quiet as it was when I turned it on for the day.
The design of the system is sleek and fits nicely with any console entertainment setup you might have.

Third. Don’t listen to people who are complaining about disc drives, or their experience at Best Buy that has nothing to do with the product. This is high end console gaming at its best.
Lastly if you have a great tv oled or high end mini qled then go for it. Don’t get this is you only have a 60hz tv just a waste of money. You need 120hz to achieve 60 frames per second (FPS). Know your tv and you’ll know what system to purchase.

This has been beyond cool update for me, as it’s been a few years since the ps5 released, so a few things I have enjoyed is the ps4 library is playing nice with the ps5 pro , I enjoyed picking up on games in my library new shine. I also am looking to playing the ps5 library too. detailedReviews 62: content: Very happy with this purchase from 'Very'. I was initially sceptical of the PS5 Pro, but because of the disc drive bundle, the welcome discount and the ability to trade in my old PS5, the substantial savings was enough to change my mind. Overall, the console is slimmer and sleeker than it's predecessors but there are no major changes. It upscales existing titles and makes them run more efficiently and allows them to run in higher resolution but without the drawback of lower performance. The disc drive is a must though for an avid collector. If it weren't for this bundle, then I probably wouldn't have gone for it, as the majority of my collection is disc based. Very happy overall.

Hit or miss if you do not have a 4k/120hz television. Games that are patched will have higher fidelity option at 60fps and will still look amazing. 4k displays will have a noticeable graphical increase, while 1080p displays will have less of a graphic increase, and little bit more sharpening.

Upgraded storage, great improvement on the psvr2 quality as well, added USB c ports, sturdier USB a ports and no bulky disc drive are only the start. But if you don't have a 4K 120 hz TV with 2.1 HDMI capability, VRR ALLM etc then it's just not going to do a lot more than your current setup with a PS5. This is what I think the PS5 claimed to be when it first came out. I just got a brand new TV and let this thing do what it was meant to do for the first time and it's night and day in quality of picture and frame rate. I think Sony really outdid themselves with this console and it's performance. My biggest gripe with the console isn't about performance or any sort of hardware issue. It's the fact it doesn't come with a disc drive, that is probably everyones big issue. Some games do have notable upgrades such as the RTGI lighting in Assassin's Creed Shadows.
But the asking price is too expensive especially since it doesn't come with a disc drive, that needs to be bought as an add-on if you have any PS5 discs or want to play any Bluray movies. It just feels like unnecessary nickel and diming when most people who would pay for the best available game console probably also have at least some physical discs.

detailedReviews 72: content: I bought this because i sold my Ps5 for a good amount and it was a no brainer to get the Pro. I do notice an improvement in graphics and faster UI menu navigation even while playing games. My PS5 was a bit sluggish on the menus, this Pro is not like that. I hope to see developers utilize the PS5 Pro more. One negative for me is that the inputs like HDMI, and USB seem to wiggle and are a bit loose. I noticed this when plugging in the connections and it was a bit concerning and made me question the longevity of the system. The very lacking packaging and without a vertical stand made me frown. Something seems off with how this PS5 Pro was presented by Sony, no Edge controller, just the OG ps5 one, no proprietary UI enhancements, just the regular ps5 menus, no PS5 Pro icon near your avatar, just the PS5 one. Nothing really screams out "look at me, i'm the PS5 Pro" and it kinda makes me feel like "why is this being sold?". Sony is really missing the opportunity to sell, attract, and retain their player base with the lacking effort here. Im not trying to sound picky but the fact is that even simple products like Gillette razors are marketed, advertised, and packaged eloquently, with awesome visual representations. The higher tier razors get better looks, better accessories, and better packaging. Those products are boasted and praised by the company and it doesn't just show in social media advertising , it shows by whats actually supplied and integrated into the products themselves so that the consumer feels like they're really using something great. Sony, you're not new to the consumer market, don't fall short on connecting with your customer base by not showcasing the benefits of this PS5 Pro, which is the top of the line console to date. Customers want to feel like they are valued and also that the product they purchased has value. Its not just about the technology, processor, plastic, in the box that matters, its also the unique and distinctive aspects that make your products stand out from the rest.! Don't get me wrong, i enjoy the PS5 Pro, its not a bad product, but i am going to call out what is blatantly obvious. Do better because you are better Sony!

detailedReviews 73: content: Having owned a PS5 since its launch, I am very pleased with the PS5 Pro. With many games I own, the Pro boosts them to a better performing version compared to base PS5. In addition, several games have Pro Enhanced patches that substantially improve the framerate, the resolution, or add features like real-time lighting. If you only have a digital game library, the Pro has 1 TB more of SSD storage compared to the base PS5. Typically, 1 TB of expansion storage costs about $100-$110 so that is one reason the system sells for $699.99. By comparison, a slim PS5 digital costs $449.99 but has 1TB of storage. If you need a disc drive to play games you own on PS5 or want to use your PS5 as a Blu-ray DVD player (does not play music CDs), you will have to buy a $79.99 external drive (raising the price to $779.98). Overall, it is a bit of a steep asking price for a console, but it absolutely is a much bigger upgrade compared to the one observed with PS4 Pro. Thus far, games like Horizon Forbidden West, Assassins Creed Shadows, Space Marine 2, Gran Turismo 7, Jedi Survivor, and Star Wars:Outlaws have seen significant improvements on Pro. In addition, games like Call of Duty Black Ops 6, Doom The Dark Ages, and Forza Horizon 5 see some minor improvements in resolution and performance. Games like Doom Eternal and Armored Core 6 see some nice boosts in resolution and performance without a patch. I highly recommend looking at the website resetera.com for a full list of Enhanced and Boosted games

detailedReviews 74: content: As someone who wasn't the biggest fan of this console generation, the PS5 Pro excited me. I felt "Finally, a true console worth of the "next-gen" promise...and then I played games with it.
Outside of the design, which, lacks a disc drive, and doesn't come with a stand, this is largely a PS5. Sure, the internals are a little different, but you set it up the same, you launch your games the same...the difference is in how the games play and let me tell you...there's a difference, just not the difference I was looking for. The original selling point was no longer choosing between performance and graphic quality...but I feel like with the PS5 Pro there are even more choices. Developers have used the power of the PS5 pro, and PSSR, Playstations Ai upscaling method, to find new ways to get you to play 30 fps...and it doesn't look good enough to justify the 30 fps. ..and it's not a stable 30 FPS!! This is what we pay MORE for, sans a 4k Blu-ray drive?
Moving past the console itself, I noticed when I purchased it, certain PS5 Pro-enhanced games now found themselves back up to full price. Sure...that's not the console's fault...but that is apart of the experience of getting the console, and it wasn't a good experience. No one piece of software screamed "THIS is why you bought a PS5 Pro!" and I get it, you can't necessarily develop a game specifically for the PS5 Pro, it's not the base model, it's not the top seller, it's a mid-gen upgrade for a small percentage of the overall user base...but if there's no software to justify the console, there's definitely no justification for a price increase with missing features (the disc drive).
Last gen I purchased both mid-gen consoles and was satisfied with both of the purchases. This gen I'm reminded that I have a PC, and with the increased cost of game production, eventually all these games will have to land on PC where developers can truly push things to another space. Maybe going forward games are made with the PS5 Pro in mind, developers getting a better understanding o the benefits of PSSR, but right now? This ain't it.

title: Difference in how games play, not expected
detailedReviews 75: content: Let me first start out by saying the Wi-Fi 7 is an absolute joke, I have Multi-Link operation enabled with my Wi-Fi 7 router and MLO enabled in the PS5 Pro settings. I am barely able to crack 300 Mbps on a 2.5 gbps isp connection. It’s also worth noting this is the only device that has this issue. All my other Wi-Fi seven devices are lightning fast and do not experience this issue. Hopefully it’s just a software bug. However, PlayStation network has a notorious reputation for being terribly slow. It’s unforgivable that they did not add a 2.5 gbe LAN port on a “Pro” console. Now let’s go to the games: while it does look slightly better, it’s not a significant improvement. For a device this powerful it’s actually downright insulting. They capped the HDMI port to 32 GB per second like they did with the base PS5. That means if you have frame rates higher than 60, you will be downgraded from RGB to YUV422 color space. There was no excuse to not put a full bandwidth 48 GB HDMI 2.1a port on this system. I will admit that the ray tracing does look better, but RTX is just the biggest gimmick ever, I would much rather have higher resolution and faster frame rates. The only time Ray tracing add something is in PC gaming where you have a huge jump computing power. I will maintain my position on consoles it’s an absolute joke feature. I would not recommend the PS5 Pro as of right now. The base PS5 is plenty good enough and it’s less expensive. If you want a significant jump, get a PC.

title: HDMI port capped, YUV422 color space downgrade
detailedReviews 76: content: I would like to start by saying is that PS5 has been a great console with great games and great exclusives.
The Pros
The PS5 Pro is the ultimate PS5 that give you that extra edge in performance on PS5 games as well as nice upscaling and performance improvements on PS4 games.
This depends on the game and how the developers design the game. Most uncapped games will benefit the most than the ones that are locked or targeting a specific FPS.
The console is sleek and looks premium , lighter compared to the original PS5 and some have reported it’s a bit more noisy , honestly I haven’t noticed it at all.
The cons
Well for the price tag it feels honestly like a rip off you get less that what you get when you get your PS5. Doesn’t come with a disk unit which is terrible since al scalpers are hoarding this and there is no clarity on when if it they ever be available again.
Also, doesn’t even come with a stand and even if you can buy cheaper ones, it’s something so obvious that should have been included.
Both of this drawbacks feels like a comercial decision to get as much money as possible for their clients. Also trying to push expensive digital purchases if you really can get hold of a drive unit.
Bottom line
Whilst I enjoy it and some of the PS5 pro games look amazing when patched, unless you can’t deal with the lower quality graphics on PS5 performance more or if you TV is not at least 65 inch. You might not see the benefits straight away.
I might change my opinion on the console perhaps if the disk drive is available but until then I would say save your money

title: Price tag feels like a rip off
detailedReviews 77: content: Is Sony's PlayStation 5 Pro really worth the $700 plus tax price tag, they're asking for it all comes down to the individual what you're looking for. And if you want the best of the best or just a PlayStation 5 Slim I picked up my PlayStation 5 Pro yesterday. I started playing The Last of Us remastered and I got to say with the PlayStation 4 Graphics enhancement. You see a noticeable difference, but it's not night and day. I tried Horizon forbidden West which has a PlayStation 5 Pro patch and the difference was breathtaking as a gamer on the original PlayStation 5. You can really tell the difference between the pro and the regular PS5 and again, it's not a night and day difference. Probably and it would be the only negative I can say about the PlayStation 5 Pro is the fact that at the $700 price point is being offered. There isn't really that many PlayStation 5 titles and I'm talking about across the board in every model that could take advantage of pssr. But Mark Cerny did say they are committed to making the PlayStation 5 Pro a gaming beast and they will release more games to sum up my review. Do I recommend the PlayStation 5 Pro over the slim? I definitely do recommend it. I returned a PlayStation 5 Slim with overheating issues the PlayStation 5 pro has been amazing and I can't wait what the company offers for it in the future and how simple it's going to be for developers to make more games for us hardcore Gamers to enjoy.

detailedReviews 78: content: If you already own a PS5, I wouldn't bother paying FULL price for this device.
If you don't own a PS5 right now, just buy this. You'll get a superior machine with a larger storage capacity right out of the box!
I would also highly recommend getting the disk drive (unless you know without a shadow of a doubt that you're an all-digital gamer).
I would recommend this console ONLY if you don't already own a PS5 (non-pro version) and are OK with the prospect of maybe forking over extra $$$ for a disk drive down the line.
Performance is as expected, and you can find a million reviews breaking that stuff down on YT, so I won't bother going into it here. It's fast, it's snappy, and works well every time.
Also, the fact that the "PRO" version of the console DOES NOT include a vertical stand and still includes the **standard** controller is not OK (at least throw in the PlayStation EDGE Pro Controller for the price that is being charged)!
Recommendations:
Sony NEEDS to upgrade the joysticks in their controllers to hall-effect joysticks so that controller-drift becomes a thing of the past.
As a consumer, I'd wait for a sale/bundle deal (see if you can get the console and a disk-drive for a reduced price, or the PlayStation EDGE controller).

detailedReviews 79: content: It does what Sony said it would do. The price is pretty reasonable for what you get - an actual 4k/60 capable machine.
However, if you're willing and able to spend more for this console over the regular PS5, you're probably also willing and able to spend twice as much on a PC with a bit better performance along with all the extra flexibility and utility (and yes, the occasional technical difficulties/annoyances that you're probably capable of dealing with).
With that in mind, I really think the Pro only makes sense for the die-hard PlayStation fans and serious gamers out there whose entire game libraries and group of friends are committed to the platform, and don't care about having options beyond what Sony offers. More casual users won't even notice or care about the upgrades from the base PS5.
Outside of that, with more "platform exclusives" now coming to PC after a year or two, cross-play becoming more common, and the modernization of Steam and Windows for supporting console-style gaming, there are far less barriers keeping you trapped on the platform than there were in previous generations.
For me, having a history on both platforms, I've come to feel that the progress made combined with the wealth of options offered by PCs outweigh the history I have with PlayStation. I've decided that my old base PS5 will be good enough for gaming with my PS5 friends, and I'm planning on returning this Pro and moving back to PC for the future.

detailedReviews 80: content: The picture is the controller right out of the box. The problem is with BB openbox conditioning, no bad feeling on the PlayStation. Bought the PS5 Pro Open Box Excellent, I always thought BB would give me the product that match that description: "Works and looks like new. Restored to factory settings. Includes all original parts, packaging and accessories (or suitable replacement). " However the console is dusty on the panel with a few scratches near the cable and USB ports, anyway I cleaned it and still considered it acceptable; However the controller is filthy with grime over the joystick and filled in the gaps plus unknown hair stick around, obvioulsy it has been heavily used and not even been wiped; Another thing that truly made me submit the return is, they gave me an HDMI 1.3 cable instead of 2.1. It's not that I don't have any extra HDMI 2.1, it just shows these people handling return or reconditioning literally know nothing and don't even care (or clean). Btw the power cable is from Apple, don't even know Apple has products that utilize this cable. Seriously BB, HDMI 1.3 for PS5 Pro!

detailedReviews 81: content: I love seeing all the Xbox fan boys rate this 1 star. Xbox has gone 3rd party, because Xbox Series X is only capable of 900p 30fps. So every Microsoft Game Studios game will run best on a PS5, either 4k30 or 1164p60 on the base PS5, and 4k60 on the Pro. As Digital Foundry has proven the PS5Pro will run every game at 4k60 at a minimum, some games will have 4k60 with Ray Tracing. And for those with an 8k display there are 2 games confirmed to have 8k60 modes. You could not buy a PC for less than $2000 that would match PS5Pro’s performance. I can’t believe that the Pro is only $100 more than the 2TB Microsoft Series 30fps box. It’s insane how expensive the Series Lbox is and it can barely do 30fps at 900p resolution. The PS5 Pro is approximately 50x more powerful, and has 10x the amount of games as LBox Series L and it only costs $100 more. If you are a parent and you don’t want your kid getting laughed at in school get them a PS5 Pro. Better games, better controller, better subscription service that doesn’t raise the price twice in 1 year and paywall the only decent feature behind a $400/year paywall and Microsoft has only released 1 game this entire year. So people with Gamepass have spent $400 on one game lol

detailedReviews 82: content: I bought this back in October, Bestbuy was having a promotional sale at that time of any purchases $400.00 and up, you would have interest free payments for 12 months. And the good thing about the promotional sale i have until January 14th, 2025 to return the PS5 Pro if i dont like it, so it's like getting a two month free rental of the ps5 pro to try it out.
Sorry for that long intro, should anyone who reads this, purchase ps5 pro well yes and no. If you want a console with the best graphics then yes purchase it because there are ps5 games that i play, that i can see the extra graphics power of the pro coming thru on my screen.
But, if you already have the original ps5 or ps5 slim, you are good with keeping those consoles cause the graphics are still good on those systems. Outside of a few games that take advantage of ps5 pro extra graphics, the games do not look that much better. And then there's the price of $757.97 that you will pay in total for this. $757.97 is alot to pay for marginal graphics upgrade.
The only reason i purchase my is for the upcoming games like GTA 6 that. I like my pro but i am thinking about returning it.

detailedReviews 83: content: This is an awful product. At every point, around every turn this product caused me stress and grief surpassing any joy I could possibly derive from it. The disk drive isn’t included, isn’t available in stores at any reasonable price or stock availability, and denies the convenience of owning one’s own games permanently without paying $80 in addition to your $700 console. It doesn’t even have the decency to come with a flipping vertical stand. It doesn’t make transferring save data from the PS4 easy or convenient without purchasing more stuff. Hardly a single feature can be enjoyed without buying new crap. I even returned my TV and replaced it with one that was superior only for the console to inform me that VRR doesn’t work (p.s. the relatively easy solution to this issue online didn’t work for me). I’ve sunk more than $800 into this console just for it to operate as a paperweight on my TV stand. It’s beyond human imagination that Sony could ethically sell such a lackluster and abysmal product. Absolute shame on this company and it’s decision makers. Please don’t buy this product.

detailedReviews 85: content: The upgrade from the base PS5 is good but not great. The CPU needed an upgrade to match the GPU. The extra 350mhz only makes a slight difference IMO. While the console does boost frames for non-Pro Enhanced games and gives a slight touch in image quality on PS4 games. Most games that are Pro Enhanced are suffering from teething issues. I believe the PSSR tech will shine through after a year or two when devs have some time with it. The menu navigation does seem smoother and the 2TB SSD is a nice addition to store more games. My console seems slightly louder than the base PS5, there's a light jet engine humm once you get a game loaded up, but it's nothing serious. If you got a headset on or got your soundbar cranked up you won't really notice it. Giving it 4 stars due to lack of disc drive and upgrades for price. The extra $700 on performance isn't there, but we may see an improvement on that down the road. My suggestion IMO: Only purchase this console if you're an enthusiast or got money to burn. By the time the Pro may start to show benefits, we'll be half way towards PS6. Which you may as well keep your money aside for that.

detailedReviews 86: content: First, I’m not here to tell you how to spend your money. If you’re happy with your Pro, cool. Sony wants you to buy the console on future promises without delivering much of anything up front. I really wanted for this to be awesome, as I preordered it, just to be very let down. I see no value at this time ($833 for a console and disc drive is extremely expensive, with a current 1/5 “wow” factor) and returned it and the disc drive. I do see future potential for it, I’ll consider it again in a couple years. They advertise “Disc Free” on (the damaged) box, as if that’s a benefit. No launch games to say “Hey! Check out what this can do!” is insane. Instead, check out older releases that every PS5 owner has (likely) already played years ago. Umm, why wasn’t Astro Bot included as an enhanced game? Is there a difference having the Pro (on a proper display of course)? Yes, but marginal. Sometimes better (let’s zoom in to see if we can tell most of the time), but lots of games looked and performed worse. PSSR is a mess. Did I mention no disc drive? Yep, worth mentioning again, as it’s a slap in the face being forced to buy an essential disc drive. Fact: over 80% of PS5’s sold before the Pro launch were disc drive models. Sony is alienating its hardcore audience in so many ways. They want to nickel and dime you in every way possible while under-delivering. Over 6 weeks later, things are still a mess. Having owned every single PlayStation console since/around launch, with exception of the PS3 that was purchased a couple years later, this is the most disastrous release ever. PS4 game enhancement is negligible. Nothing too positive to say about this right now, but again, I think once a disc drive model is available, there’s a decent game library, a price drop, and lots of bugs are fixed, it will have some value. I think Sony needs to act quickly on customer concerns and they definitely aren’t - e.g. An update was released a month after launch to aid in console data transfer….that should’ve been day one. That’s enough of my rant. Glad I could get my money back after being robbed.

detailedReviews 87: content: It's fine. Small incremental improvement in image quality. Enhanced games look a little sharper, with better framerates, a few more ray-traced reflections here and there.
It's not going to be a mind-blowing difference. Don't expect that. The problem is that PS5 games already look pretty good, basically what this does is clean them up a little more.
There are some annoying bugs, too. Downloads fail half the time with DNS errors. Manually setting DNS in my connection settings did NOT resolve this. This doesn't happen with any other device, not the base PS5, not my PC, not my mobile device. Only with the PS5 pro.
There have also been some unexplained lockups where I had to restart the console, which again never happens to me on Base PS5.
All in all... the "okayest" purchase I've made. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. Still not sure if I want to keep it or not.
700 dollars seems like a lot of money for a small increase in quality, and the addition of new bugs that the Base PS5 does not suffer from.

detailedReviews 88: content: I sent it back unopened. As a gamer who has been in and around the scene since the late 70s i decided i did not need it. No major improvement over the base PS5 and also no Disc Drive....i think my console collecting self was tempted but then reality kicked in and i returned it. If you have a good PC its not a great buy. My PC is far superior to the PS5 Pro and i have zero compromises in visuals and performance and once i engaged my brain and not my heart i realised i do not need another mid gen upgrade console, i hardly use my base PS5 these days. Most likely a great console for some... but not really needed for others?. I returned mine unopened the moment it arrived. I had another Pro arrive the day before from another retailer which i also returned for same reasons.
The Pro is not value for money that is for sure. There is still a compromise between modes. The base PS5 is great as it is. If you have a good or great PC then its an easy choice to not buy one unless you really do not like PC gaming. I am glad i got to see one running at a reviewers house a few days before as i had my doubts based on its weak CPU upgrade but seeing it in the flesh at him home clarified my opinions and hence i returned it unopened.

detailedReviews 89: content: I thought I was buying a console, but what I got was a luxury experience at a price that could fund a small country's budget. $100 more for the PS5 Pro? You could get a whole other PS5 and still have enough left over to buy some snacks and a comfy chair to sit in while you play… if you actually had the money after shelling out for this overpriced brick.
I thought I was upgrading my gaming experience,
but all I got was a reminder that inflation is real. For $100, I better be able to play games with actual holograms of the characters. I want them to come to life and hand me a soda while I play!
Unless this thing comes with a built-in personal assistant who makes dinner, does my laundry, and manages my finances, it’s not worth the price. 10/10 would recommend, but only if you’re living on a trust fund and think money grows on trees.
Save your cash and buy two regular PS5s. Or, better yet, put the $100 towards something that actually enhances your life—like a car payment or therapy to cope with the sticker shock.

detailedReviews 90: content: I think if you're looking for your one and only gaming device, this isn't a terrible choice. However, if you already have a PC or a Steam Deck, it's just not worth it.
+Performance is very solid for the price.
-Doesn't support bluetooth headphones???
-You have to pay for multiplayer. I understand profit margins on consoles are tight, but it felt kind of insulting to pay $700 for a console just for it to say "sorry you have to pay more for basic functionality."
-Doesn't come with a disc drive, which feels like Sony being stingy.
-No support for PS3 games or older, so the catalog felt very limited. There were several occasions where I thought "oh I should play Motorstorm! oh I can't... Oh I should play Gran Turismo 6! oh I can't... Oh I should play the older God of War games! oh..." and so on. Coming from PC, there's nothing here I cared about other than Gran Turismo 7 and Driveclub. GT7 turned out to suck and Driveclub runs the same here as it would on a base PS4.
I ended up returning it. There's just nothing here coming from PC.

detailedReviews 91: content: A console with seemingly little purpose. The games look better, they run better now too... if they've been optimised. Which is a very small set of games. This is expected to change with time but even still it can't justify the launch pricetag.
A "Pro" console should have far more options than just ray tracing at 60fps. What about 120fps without ray tracing?
It's possible. However, it's up to individual developers how they utilise the new capabilities. There's no standardisation with this and options vary quite a bit from game to game.
Couple this with the minimal selection of enhanced titles and you have a very underwhelming device. If you don't own a PS5 already, don't buy this.
If you do own a PS5 already, wait a couple of years and see if there's more to play on it. It'll probably be cheaper by then anyhow.
As things stand it's completely useless as an upgrade from a Disc based PS5 due to the lack of disc drive. (The new optional one has been out of stock for weeks at time of writing.)
Have Gran Turismo 7 on disc? Want to try the new features? Go buy the digital copy! We have no disc drives!
Not worth the cost upfront. Finance maybe but only if you're a a tech enthusiast.

detailedReviews 92: content: PS5 Pro is a scam and not worth the money, Pssr upscaling is garbage and actually makes the games look worse. I just returned the pro after 6 weeks. I returned the pro on 4/5/25 and exchanged it for the ps5 slim with Astro Bot included. Got home and set it up & reinstalled Dragon Age Veilguard and played it again, The graphics looked so much better on the ps5 slim. Played black ops 6 without any crashes as well. This so called pssr that Sony is trying to upscale is causing more issues than it’s worth. Please do yourself a favor and don’t spend another $300 for the pro because it honestly isn’t worth it. detailedReviews 93: content: It's overpriced for what it is, basically will run the games with solid 60 fps, specially the new ones. Games like silent hill remake for example run in between 40 and 60 with the standard PS5. Other modes with better graphics will drop it back to 30 or 40fps. Visual effects, and things like hair, and quick movements will improve a bit and look more stable and less distorted. The improvements are small and some people won't even notice. My point is: it is almost double of the price but offer 20% improvement seeing it from a good perspective. If you really like Sony and you're a video games FAN, buy it enjoy and don't think about the 1200$. If you're not really into small detail or doesn't know what fps is and just want play casually. title: Overpriced for what it is
detailedReviews 94: content: I went in thinking that this was going to be amazing - but it is not worth the asking price. Yes, there are some improvements ... but you need to be very eagle eyed or have equipment that can take advantage of it. Considering how long the original PS5 was out for and all the supply issues before it finally was steady, this Pro model is not really needed ... especially since developers have not fully utilised the power of the normal PS5. When we went from PS4 to PS4 Pro, there were noticeable improvements across the board and for the price of it, it was reasonable. This time with the 5, it is not justified and not reasonable ... especially with no disc drive (the vertical stand I could take it or leave it ... but the disc drive should have been included). Also, considering that the slim plates are not compatible, meaning you need to get new ones again ... this is really shaping up to be a very expensive console. I now want to take it back as this was really a bad choice I made getting - Sony have really dropped the ball with this one.

detailedReviews 95: content: So I decided to buy the Pro less than a year after the release of the Slim which i also own. Is there any major difference? Short answer is NO. There is no visual difference. The only noticeable difference is some games play smoother because of the higher frame rates but it is absolutely nothing to be wowed about. Is worth £700? NO. If you don't already own a PS5 them maybe go ahead and buy this but if you already own a standard or Slim PS5 this is definitely not worth upgrading to. If you want TRUE 4K 120fsp gameplay then invest that £700 in a decent gaming PC that will bring you way better results. I also own a PC with an RTX 4080 super which blows this completely out the water but then again so it should. It makes makes me regret my purchase even more, i will be checking if my return is still in its period.

A few games play well at 120 FPS, but most of the games that claim to be 120 FPS obviously have way lower frames per second. Only get this console if you don't mind playing at 60 frames per second. The experience has been excellent otherwise. Graphics and performance have been solid, and the controller is more comfortable than expected coming from an Xbox. I just wish that, for the price, Sony would have included a disc drive, or at least the vertical stand. Ideally both. It would live up to the "Pro" moniker a lot better.

detailedReviews 100: content: This console does not offer proper 4:4:4 Chroma Subsampling at 120Hz. This is offered natively on other platforms like PC and XBOX Series X. This is due to all PS5s (including this console) only offering a handicapped 32Gbps throughput speed through HDMI 2.1.
This limitation forces pro owners to use 4:2:2 chroma subsampling which comparatively looks much worse at higher resolutions and introduces improper color reproduction and visual artefacts (aliasing).
If you are a 4K 120Hz gamer who cares about visual fidelity I would treat this product like it is radioactive and buy a PC instead.

detailedReviews 111: content: I wasn't sure whether it was worth upgrading from my OG PS5, but in the end for various unrelated reasons I took the plunge.
I'm terms of the additional power and it's impact on game performance it's too early to tell.
Ultimately thought it's a PS5. So I'm happy enough

detailedReviews 113: content: The PlayStation 5 Pro is for sure the best place to play for console gaming.

Second. Why do you need a disc player? Literally no one uses disks anymore. They scratch and are over all annoying. Get over it.

I played Spiderman 2 in preformance pro mode and you can definitly see a difference its not a huge jump but what we get is a higher resolution at higher framerate. I caught myself at times photo moding to see reflections. I am hoping that going foward that we will see the advantage of the pro as developers get used to the new GPU. I think at some point the pro will be able to deliver the 60fps option at a good resolution as the standard ps5 ability to go to 60 gets worse then it is especially.when it comes to UE5 titles.

I think Sony really outdid themselves with this console and it's performance. My biggest gripe with the console isn't about performance or any sort of hardware issue. It's the fact it doesn't come with a disc drive, that is probably everyones big issue. I do believe this is more or so for the enthusiast sony gamer or for anyone who wants to make the most out of their display that supports hdmi 2.1 and can really take advantage of the 120hz and uncapped frame modes some of these games can offer now. detailedReviews 121: content: I am writing this review providing feedback solely to Best Buy for the delivery process of the purchase for my Sony PlayStation 5 Pro! I purchased the PlayStation 5 Pro 12/14/24 set the delivery for 12/15/24 to be delivered between like 10:00 and 3:00…….it was never said or confirmed in the delivery set up that someone should be home that my Sony PlayStation 5 Pro would be Left on my Doorstep unboxed as if the PlayStation was taken from the shelf and put on my doorstep for the whole world to see what was purchased! I have never had a purchase (unless it’s a large box like my dog kennel) left on my doorstep unboxed, normally whatever you purchase from a company (especially a big named company like Best Buy) the product is put into a bigger box or like a plastic bubble padded envelope to cover up and protect the purchase for it to be delivered to the buyer! Shame on you Best Buy you didn’t say that someone needed to be home during the delivery window that you would be leaving the unboxed purchase on the doorstep, you should require a signature from a person for purchases you are going to deliver unboxed and it would be more considerate to advise to the buyer that you will be leaving their purchase unboxed at their doorstep for the world to see or for someone to possibly steal! If your going to deliver unboxed products give the buyer the option at least to say “yes” or “no” that the purchase needs to be boxed into a shipping box to disguise what is inside of the box so it’s unknown what was purchased to the outside world and if you are going to leave unboxed purchases with buyers permission at least require a signature or have the buyer give permission to say “yes” or “no” that it’s ok to leave their unboxed purchase on thier doorstep! I paid around $775.00 for the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro and the stand for it that was extra and personally $775.00 is not just pocket change that’s a large purchase at least for a gaming system anyway and I don’t want the worry that someone has the option to see what I purchased and can just steal it right from my doorstep! You hear about these Porch Pirates stealing peoples packages from their porches especially around the holidays, don’t make it easier for them to see what they can steal by delivering unboxed packages most of the world works and can’t be at home all day long to wait for packages to be delivered so please Best Buy do your part in helping with what you can do on your end and at least pay the few extra dollars (your a multi billion dollar company) to buy some boxes to box up your customers purchases before you send them out for delivery!!!!!! This could be a make or break in my choice to buy from you again in the future and you can see my purchase history I make several small and large purchases throughout the year from you guys….. $2000.00 LG washer and dryer set a year ago……. detailedReviews 122: content: Don’t buy the pro. You be wasting your money. Just get the regular PS5. Now I own both of them the only difference is the memory capacity. And to make it worse you have to buy a disk drive, more money you have to spend. I own a lot of disk games so I had to get it from a third party and those people like usual they over priced the drive because SONY can’t keep up with the demand! That’s another reason for you not to waste your money on the PRO! They should give the option for people who buys the console to buy the disc drive with it, at least that! But SONY! doesn’t care as long they are making money! Typical companies don’t care about the consumers as long they are cashing in! And to top it off their controllers joystick keeps braking all this years and they haven’t fixed the problem! So spend more money and buy warranty is cheaper than buying a controller every six months to a year!

detailedReviews 123: content: For this reveiw, I will start the things I do like about the PRO model. The cons mentioned before and poor state of developer support on some titles is the main reason i only give the PS5 PRO 3 stars.

detailedReviews 124: content: Owned and used the console for a few months now.
You don't need this console.

detailedReviews 125: content: This is definitely not for the casual gamer.

I think this would be a great choice for those who are skeptical of the PS6 roll out and want to still get the best Sony has to offer in that transitional stage.

detailedReviews 128: content: Look at it this way. The PS5 cost $649.99 before tax with the disc drive in Canada + 850GB of onboard storage. To upgrade to an additional 2TB HDD you would pay anywhere from 175 - 300 dollars based on brand preference and quality of HDD. That brings the ps5 cost to at max $949.99 before taxes.
This console vs a pc is an upgrade to what would be equivalent to a 3070 from a 2070. That card price alone in real world money is another $800+ dollars in upgrade cost if it were a PC Upgrade.
If you already have a PS5, you can flip it to recover some of the cost you spent on the Pro.
I believe game stop is offering $345 trade in towards a pro. If you are still on a PS4. Then i guess you have a decision to make. In the end I will only pay $600 (maybe less) for this because am all digital and I don't need the useless stand (Stands up on it's own btw) and I can flip my disc version PS5 to someone else so they too can own a PS5

detailedReviews 129: content: Lost all respect for Sony after this.
The only console I will ever consider purchasing in the future is nintendo consoles. Underpowered, but they deliver quality games. To me personally, it has been about gameplay and sharing enjoyable moments with friends and family.
Graphics can look pretty, but without much passion and work on the game mechanics/story, games can feel empty and lifeless.
Nintendo have always been all about that and that deserves my money.
This isn't to say Sony has bad games.
They have amazing titles that eventually get ported to PC.
Because of this, I feel dumb not to invest in a gaming PC.
Sony doesn't offer anything now, just overpriced consoles that you can't upgrade.

title: Lost all respect for Sony after this
detailedReviews 130: content: So I bought this with already having the PS5, needless to say the Power Enhancement was very noticeable and I also like the added in Options. But the truth being for what it is and all that was added no way to Complain, Maybe a Disc Drive already attached would be nice, and maybe a 4TB HD because these Games are getting way to big for little HDs.

title: Firm believer in buying disc games
detailedReviews 131: content: It’s a minor but appreciated upgrade in computing power and render capabilities. Games have to be designed to take advantage of the improved rendering (marked as Pro Enhanced) or otherwise there is no difference.
Improvements in other games are far less obvious.

detailedReviews 132: content: It’s clear Sony is laying the foundation for whatever the principles and philosophy of PlayStation 6 will be with the PS5 Pro.
The design of the system is sleek and fits nicely with any console entertainment setup you might have.

detailedReviews 133: content: First off. Don’t listen to people saying it’s not worth it. You cannot build similar quality pc gaming system for this cheap. It’s impossible! It’s solid!
Second. Why do you need a disc player? Literally no one uses disks anymore. They scratch and are over all annoying. Get over it.
Know your tv and you’ll know what system to purchase.

detailedReviews 135: content: Great console if you have the right product around it to utilize its potential. 120hz Television or high refresh rate Monitor with compatible hdmi 2.1. There are limited games with pro performance enhanced and hrr option, but games that do have it are smooth and looks amazing!
Hit or miss if you do not have a 4k/120hz television. Games that are patched will have higher fidelity option at 60fps and will still look amazing. 4k displays will have a noticeable graphical increase, while 1080p displays will have less of a graphic increase, and little bit more sharpening.

detailedReviews 136: content: Purchased as an open-box return. Console and controller were in new condition. It was just missing the small feet to prop the console up horizontally, so I had to rig something myself. Not a huge issue.
