items 4: content: G15-5530 Laptop. I bought this laptop to do: 1) photographic editing in Photoshop; 2) movie editing with Vegas Movie Studio; and 3) engineering work with AutoCAD, Excel, and Word. I do not use it as a gaming platform. So far, (3 weeks since purchase), the G15 has performed perfectly for my intended purposes. I use the G15 with a wireless external keyboard and mouse, as well as with a 27" external monitor. I also have a high-end external speaker system (with subwoofer) connected to the G15. I basically use the G15 as a small-footprint desktop, with the added advantage of mobility when needed. A couple more external media ports would have been nice, but I purchased the G15 with full knowledge of the number and type of media input ports that were available, so I am not complaining about that issue. So far, I have run the G15 with a plugged-in external monitor (HDMI), 2 simultaneous external hard USB drives, an external speaker system, and a wireless USB dongle for the keyboard and mouse. All devices performed flawlessly. I have no complaints about the laptop weight, noise, or temperature. As I type this review, the laptop is completely silent. The esthetics of the laptop design are very pleasing for my tastes. In conclusion, I have no complaints about the G15 5530 and would make the purchase again. items 5: content: It seems some laptops have a limited work life. My old one (not a Dell) gave up the spirit. And it couldn't meet my needs when it worked fine. We already had a great Alienware desktop that my husband has been forced to share with me. And since we both need high performance computers for audio video editing and publishing needs I looked into the high performance G15 with the i7 core. Dell has learned its lessons over the last several years and has built the G15 into an excellent machine. And it is that. It fits all my requirements and leaves room to grow. I also like the way it looks and feels to work with. I highly recommend this laptop.

items 8: content: I have been looking for a dev/AI/data science system for a while. I found it! Of course, it needs to run Ubuntu. I don't mean under under WSL virtualization where you need to still fight with native Windows for the most basic stuff. Dell used to have a number of laptops with Ubuntu pre-installed, like my cute old XPS-13: ready for in-person pitches?: yes; great for resource hungry workloads?: not so much. Unfortunately, they no longer seem to carry Ubuntu pre-installed in their Canadian store, and have very limited + pricey options on their US store. Do not get discouraged! The G15 and the comparable G16 (newer, slightly more expensive) are excellent choices. Installing Ubuntu was a breeze: secure boot supported under UEFI; just boot with your USB. Gotchas: - media keys work as "function" keys during pre-boot (you need simply "F2" and not "fn+F2" to get into the BIOS - the 24.04 beta was flaky circa mid-Apr 2024, so I went with 22.04

items 9: content: This computer is all that. I ordered without a touch screen and I am glad I did. The computer is fast and reliable, with plenty of memory....more than that of a laptop 2x the price. The keyboard is a little different though. The keys seem to be more of a lower profile, so you feel a shorter 'snap' when you press down. The guides on the keys are a lower profile as well, so you don't feel automatically where your fingers should be on the keyboard as well. I don't use it for gaming, but it works really well with graphic design software. I can have 3 design software open at a time and it doesn't flinch when going back and forth. The display is bright and can be a bit overwhelming in low light situations, and I like bright white light! But that is an easy fix. I like Dell straight out of the box usability. A bunch of capacity for 1/2 the price of other models.

items 10: content: I purchased a Dell G5 computer back in 2019 and it still works just fine, but my wife has been monopolizing that computer so I wanted a computer for my own. I decided to purchased the G15 with the i9-13900HX processor. Wow, compared to the G5 computer, this is a fast machine. I have been using it for a month now and I have not heard the fan at all (unless it is really quiet) and the computer doesn't get warm like the G5. I haven't played any games yet, so I guess I haven't tested it's limits. I have heard some people comment on the big power supply. I like how it charges up the computer very quickly and I like that the computer has it's own power port to connect this power supply and doesn't use one of the USB ports to connect a much smaller power supply that Dell typically provides for their computers. Just a heads up, once you have set up the computer I suggest you run the Dell SupportAssist software. It will update everything and make the computer run better. I am very happy with my purchase.

items 11: content: I bought my first G15 for its graphic abilities, since I was doing a fair amount of video production at the time. Unfortunately, it died in a power surge that took out my surge protector as well. Luckily, I was able to find almost the exact configuration on sale at the Dell site (a little better processor, a better graphics card and a larger SSD) at a better price than the original on one of their online sales. I was back in business as soon as I was able to restore my backups. It's a fast machine, and does what I need for video editing and rendering.

The gaming experience was smooth at ultra level graphics on Star Wars Survivor. The other 2 self proclaimed gaming laptops couldn't handle the game even at low/medium settings. items 18: content: This PC has been a pleasant surprise. It has plenty of memory, hard disk space and a fast I9 processor. I am using it primarily to game and I am not disappointed. It is built like a tank so there is some weight to it, but it is acceptable. While gaming, the PC does keep cool due to an effective system of airflow but it does make some noise. If you are looking for a PC that remains silent all the time I would point you in the direction of a desktop. The wireless connectivity works well, maintaining a strong fast connection while in use. The display on this thing is beautiful. It has the cleanest most vibrant colors on any display I use. When I look for a desktop monitor I will use the specs from this screen as a baseline. First Windows 11 PC for me, so it gives me an opportunity to learn more about the OS. Overall a solid purchase.

items 19: content: The computers is good, it has a good performance. I'm not a heavy gamer that play a tons of games but for those I play it performs very well.
I am also a software engineer and I use WSL along with other development tools, and again the laptop shows a good performance even against heavy programs such as Android Studio.
One point that might be a downside for some people is the fact that it's a big and quite heavy laptop if you compared with the regular ones. The charge's size is huge, so it probably won't going to fit in your medium backpack/case.
I'm still giving a 5-start mark as its size and weight don't bother me at all. Moreover the battery is decent, I know that is relative because depends on how you use it, but it last for many hours and I consider myself between a medium-heavy user.

items 24: content: This appears to be a great laptop. I primarily use for my home business and personal use, but plan to also use occasionally for single-player games. My only negative is it is HEAVY! I read about the weight, but had no idea how heavy it actually was until I took it out of the box. And the "brick" on the power supply is HUGE - and heavy. I went ahead and bought and installed a second 1TB SSD in slot 2. Be aware - you will need Dell technical support to go into the BIOS and make changes so the computer will recognize the drive, but once that change is made, you have another 1TB of storage available. I also upgraded my memory (16GB, consisting of 2 ea. 8GB boards) to 32 GB (the max; consisting of 2 ea. 16GB boards).

items 25: content: For a mostly pre-built laptop, I think it's good for people with a limited budget. I would like to see more storage included versus upping the price to upgrade. Most games these days are fairly large and having adequate storage would make the laptop more appealing. It runs well and can handle most games ok. Graphics on higher end can cause some slow down, so again the option to upgrade is available but much like the storage, would be nice to have a slightly better card initially. I think overall if you have limited funds and need a gaming laptop, this one will work but I would definitely upgrade components to ensure satisfaction with your purchase.

items 26: content: Absolute beast of a laptop at a great price. For what I need it to do, it gets the job done with flying colors. The quantum white color choice is very nice with accents of blue and orange, it stands out and I love it. So far it hasn't gotten loud or heated up on me once, but I primarily use this laptop for daily use which includes Office, email, some coding, and light gaming which includes some strategy games and other older titles. I have the 4060 model and have had no issues with it at all, keeping the titles I play on this laptop into consideration. The keyboard is nice to type on and the orange backlight is bright enough to see. I do wish the trackpad was a bit bigger but it works as it should. The speakers are excellent and the display, although not OLED, is a gorgeous display that gets bright enough with true colors. Having the high refresh screen is good and the 1080p is crisp enough to make viewing content enough good enough for me. I do hate the behemoth of a power supply Dell provides with this machine, it's a 330W brick that's big and heavy. But other than these minor things, I believe this year's G15 is an option you should consider, you can't go wrong. I think you will be happy with this beast of a gaming laptop.

items 27: content: A pretty good entry-mid gaming laptop, and a useful general laptop for family use. Simple setup and easy to customise the RGB capabilities per user. As you will see on various forums, the RGB FX driver does take a while to load and can sometimes be a bit finnicky, but isn't a show stopper. Graphics performance is what you'd expect from a mobile 3060 - its way more than enough for the games the kids are playing (mainly my back catalog of early 00's / 10's Steam games). Will play at native res ok, just need to drop back details. plays older games at FHD with everything bumped up brilliantly. Dell Update is more reliable on this laptop than SupportAssist (gets stuck in the Task already in progress loop). Seems to be specific to this OS/HW/Other drivers combo as dont have this issue on any other Dell laptop or desktop. Thermal performance is not bad considering the HW that's humming away inside it... I dont think a 12700H and an RTX would survive without throttling in a smaller package. To aid cooling I've got it on a Coolermaster raised pedestal to limit any possibility of not sucking in enough cool air.

I am very pleased with my new Dell gaming laptop. I got it for a great price as I believe Dell was having a back to school sale. I got this laptop with the amd chip as I've read that the Intel chips have some stability issues but the amd does not disappoint. This is a super fast laptop and boots up in seconds. I got the rtx 4050 gpu and it has played every game I've thrown at it on high and ultra high settings, mind you I don't play first person shooters or many super high spec AAA games. I play Civ 6, Planet Zoo, Cities Skylines, and games like that. I did get an extra hardrive as the configuration I got forced me to get the lower 512GB harddrive, but the drive was easy to install and set up and works great. I did have an issue with the laptop not finding the 32GB ram kit I bought, but honestly, the 16GB it came with is working out fine so I sent back the ram and am going to wait until I find a need for it. Oh and I got this laptop in Pop Purple with the Teal thermal shelf and I love it! Finally a laptop that isn't boring grey or black, but they do have that option if that's what you want. Thermals are great and I love the Alienware Command Center that lets you control things for gaming. This laptop stays very cool even when gaming due to all the very large vents throughout the chassis. All in all, I love this laptop and have no real complaints!

Our youngest saved hard to buy his first "own" laptop or PC and this was what he decided on. Originally, he had chosen something else and Black Friday was his target date to get his first personal machine. However, a month to the big day, the price of his original choice jumped by 400/EUR (it eventually came back down by 250 on Black Friday, so there's a lesson in Black Friday 'deals' right there). Instead of getting down about it, he went hunting for an alternative.
Enter Dell's G15. Firstly, Dell had a much better offer in terms of specs for a lower price than he was originally going to pay. He got a 13th gen i7 vs an i5, 1TB storage vs 500GB, a 4060 vs 4050 and a much better display. In terms of price he saved ~150/EUR on the alternative he had been looking at.
Performance wise it's an incredible machine. Put under stress, the fans do ROAR to life, but it copes easily with anything we play on the home desktop. Connection to WiFi is superb, dropping only slightly behind the speeds he can get plugging straight into the mesh. There are enough connections for his needs and the display is really good (he prefers playing on the laptop screen than connecting an external monitor - Twitch etc... get relegated to the external screen).
Two things that are slightly annoying: being a gaming desktop, the power brick is MASSIVE. Slightly awkward for bringing to his friends house. The other item was a once off: the delivery was painfully slow. There are 6 stages on Dell's tracker and the first 5 completed in 2 days. The last one took two weeks. It did still arrive within the specified timeframe, but Dell should probably explain better why it takes two weeks in this day and age to get from point A to point B.
All in all though, delighted with this purchase.
