I thought that might be a problem but after one wearing, it was not. I think it just depends on the persons anatomy and how tight they might want it on their foot. I walked for an hour with the shoes right out of the box, with long socks. Comfortable, no issues at all. The leather is supple. It feels like walking on sleepers. No much arch support but for me are super comfortable. After reading reviews I was concerned about two issues: slippery on wet surfaces or rain making causing people to fall, and hurting ankles to the point of blistering or bleeding. I purchased a sole grip spray hoping it will solve the issue. detailedReviews 92: content: The shoe is amazingly beautiful. The rich burgundy hues with pinkish clay accents is to die for! I love the pony hair and Suede features. This shoe should last the test of time. It’s a classic design! My only issue is the shoe strings a came damaged. Low score reason: Unfortunately, I cannot return nor exchange them because the shoe is sold out. Call customer service and was told nothing could be done about it. Not even compensation for sending me damaged shoe strings. That’s upsetting. Hopefully I can find some replacements to match the color one day soon.

detailedReviews 93: content: I had been looking for navy sneakers, and glad I discovered these. I was confused by reading others' size reviews, because some said go up a size. But I decided to order my normal size and I'm glad I did. I wear a normal size 7 in most shoes, but sometimes 7.5 fits better in some sneakers, but these have extra toe space for me. And they don't pinch or hurt at all. If you have wide feet, you may want to go up a half size, but if you don't, stick to your typical size. Only thing I'd say is they could have added a bit more padding in the sole for better cushioning. But an insert will work for me since there is extra space inside the shoe.

detailedReviews 94: content: Aesthetically pleasing but that’s where it ends, unless worn in the sambas are painful and despite sizing up I still find they rub. Something else to note is they’re incredibly slippery especially in the rain. It’s definitely not a shoe to be worn in the winter for long periods of time/walks. For an outfit- perfect . I do love owning a pair and find them so versatile I just wish I could get more use out of them in the colder months!
