They usually require formatting prior to using in the camera, but it only takes less than 20 seconds.The card works really well taking HD photos and also for HD playback. I didn't notice any video delay when playing back videos. I also didn't notice a processing delay when cycling through photos on the camera.I purchased several smaller size cards (32 GB) and used them for our cruise in case one of the cards was lost or damaged by water. I didn't want to just purchase one large card and then risk losing all my photos if something went wrong or one of my kids lost a camera. Full size SDHC cards are harder to buy now the Micro size has become the default size of choice, requiring an adapter for my camera. This new card is full size, so no worry about unnecessary extra connections. This card is also rated Class 10 (high speed), which minimises the time for the camera to be ready for the next picture. I think I may share something that a lot of people may not be aware of, since I have informed many family and friends and they said they we unaware and glad I had told them. When shopping for this type of memory card, there are a couple of things on the card to look for. The obvious one being the size of the card, this one being 32gb for instance. It's also extremely useful to know that the very small number with a circle around it is of importance too. This one has a 10 with a circle around it. These cards will have 1-10 on it. The significance is Minimum Serial Data Writing Speed,meaning Class 10 cards have a minimum transfer rate of 10 MB/s. Your card may also display a U with either a I or II in it, signifying the ultra high speed bus (UHS). Now apply this to what you're using this particular card for. I bought it for my trail camera. A class 10 card is used for full HD (1080p) video recording and consecutive recording of HD stills. UHS Class 1 cards are used for real-time broadcasts and recording large HD video files. Other cards would have worked for my trail cam but this one was ideal, and affordable.

And it's also quicker to down load from than previous models. I've had. I reformatted the card per Brad's instructions and have had no other problems. Sandisk SD cards have been reliable in my Browning cameras used in extreme weather, year-around. My preference would be for a card made in Taiwan and not China (as are SanDisk), and I will trade out over time as my budget allows.

Since I have Amazon Prime, the item arrived to me very quickly.The card is quick at accessing your photos to review and it holds almost a thousand photos shot in raw format. That is awesome.I will definitely order more of these in the future as I continue to take more photos/ book more photo shoots in the future.I also purchased the warranty plan to go along with this card - it was very inexpensive as well and totally worth it - if the memory card acts up, you can send it in and sandisk will take all the data from the damaged card and load it on to a replacement one for free. I also have a slightly older SDHC USB 2.0 adapter to put the card in. Well, I try to copy something to this thing right out of the box, and it throws a "This disk is write protected" error. Well, it is set to unprotected. Tried locking it, try again, same error. Flip the switch back to unlock, unplug the adapter, plug it back in. Same message. Never had an issue with any SDHC card, normal/micro, even from Sandisk. So,I ordered another USB adapter for $10, and will see if it resolved the error that supports USB 3.0. I have an older Dell AIO desktop computer, it is like 5yrs old, it has a built in SDHC reader, I put the card in that, and had no problem copying files to this card. So, be forewarned, if you don't have a more current USB adapter reader, might grab one of those as well, mine didn't work. Otherwise, it is a card, and it works. What more is there to it?

I'll probably never use it as such because my primary recovery disk is a partition on the Seagate expansion drive I use as a Time Machine disk. I guess having a spare is like wearing a belt and suspenders.Steps to do it were easy. First I opened the disk utility and followed the directions to erase it and reformat it as Mac OS Extended. The partition menu never opened so I don't know if it can or for that matter needs to be partitioned. Anyway, the setup worked.The next step was to follow the instructions on the apple support page on "How to create a bootable installer for macOS". I downloaded the installer, cancelled the auto install then used the apple 'createinstallmedia' command in Terminal. The apple support page has an easy copy and paste command for Mojave. In the end I have a bootable Mojave installer which I've put into an USB flash drive adaptor, ready to use as an USB drive, since I don't know if apples will boot from a directly plugged in SD card.

It not only increased my space, but after doing a bit of research, found out that it decreased my home screen load time and system settings options page, which was very slight, but noticeable. The 2DS systems come with a stock 4GB SD card (pictured), so this is about 8 of these cards in 1 card!! The other photos show the amount of space left in the top screen, and the bottom screens show the average size of a full game (mario kart 7) and the average size of saved game files, which can vary in sizes, but are not usually as large as the size of a full game download. After doing some math (calculator!!), you would max the card out at about 40 or so games (depending on the sizes of the games), which would be full game downloads, not the games you have a physical copy of. I personally prefer to have all my nintendo related games in a physical copy and the only two game series that are interesting to me is the fire emblem series and pokemon series, so this is probably overkill for me, but just in case there ARE any downloads that interest me, I will not have to worry if I have enough space or not.BEWARE!!! When upgrading any electronic, do research on the process of transfering and backing up your data. The last thing you want is something to go wrong during that process and all your saved game files (video games/ systems/ computers) or all of your contacts, photos and other essential data (phone/ tablet) gets erased and there is no way to get them back!!!

Evidently I bought this camera before class 10 SD cards were a thing and therefore I cannot use this card with this camera if I shoot at maximum quality. Which is fine with me. Buy this card, it's a great product for a great price. Sorry Sandisk - sorry Amazon! Hopefully this info qill be helpful to others using antiquated equipment and failed to read their user manual!I have never had any trouble with Sandisk products until now. I ordered this for my video recorder because it was a great price for the gigabytes. I received it today and gave it a try. I started by initializing it. Then I tried a test video and before I could record anything got the following warning: "MAY NOT BE POSSIBLE TO RECORD MOVIES ON THIS CARD" (see photo), which is strange given that the product description suggests it be used for video. I tried initializing it again and had the same result. I was able to record video and play it back but I would not want the card to fail while recording something important, so I will be sending it back.

detailedReviews 98: content: After owning several identical sticks in the past we were happy to find them on amazon for much cheaper than stores near by. We purchases four of the memory sticks, and were very pleased with two of the four. Two of the sticks were in bad shape, the first stick came chipped in the corners and the second was cracked all along the card. We were unable to return the two sticks with defects and had to buy two more locally for the upcoming shoot. Overall I have been pleased with these memory cards and will purchase them again in the future however I will purchase them locally to avoid defects as we have never had a problem with them in the 15+ other identical sticks we have used and purchased in the past.

detailedReviews 101: content: It is just fine for my needs as I am not a sports shooter or avid bird or extreme wildlife photographer but it is not the fastest SD card out there. I tested it using h2testw.exe, the write speed is about 20 mb/s and the read speed is between 24 to 30 mb/s so the advertised 80mb/s is either a marketing trick or it has been tested on a machine that is beyond my reach (my laptop is fairly new with 8 GB ram, SSD hard drive and so on). Considering the price it is worthwhile to have a few of these around pocket holes of your camera bag.
