I read some of these negative reviews and can't understand what they're talking about. This guitar is probably the best guitar for $200 I ever played , right out of the box it was setup perfectly. All I did was tune it , I've even got the same strings it came with. Which I normally change whenever I get a new guitar. The tuners are unbelievably tight , this guitar barely goes out of tune even if it has been sitting for weeks. Also I never attached the whammy bar , so I can't speak on that throwing it out of tune. Since I have over a dozen guitars I don't usually play it daily , but when I do it always makes me glad I purchased it. This is a very versatile guitar , I play mostly metal and this thing shreds. But I also play blues and it sounds just as good as my custom strat. I bought an Epiphone SG special in the same price range and let's just say the setup is night and day , the tuners absolutely sucked , "already replaced them" and the intonation was off. It was a mess , I've already put it on Craig's list and bought a G400 Pro instead , 10x better quality and setup , but I digress. I've got many high priced guitars but always go back to the GRX , the playability and neck feels so comfortable to play. The only thing I'm going to do eventually is throw in a Seymour Duncan humbucker and I'm definitely keeping this guitar. I don't know how Ibanez can sell this for $200 and keep the quality , but I'm certainly not going to complain. Whether you're a beginner or experienced this guitar delivers. Definitely will be purchasing another Ibanez down the road.

The output jack was a little lose which was fixed in like 1 minute and the pickups were a little high. The strings were low quality but that's expected for a $ guitar. Surprisingly the setup required was minimal but honestly these guitars are super easy to set up and for $ is a great tool to practice in if you dont know how to set up a guitar yet. Now to the good parts about it. It honestly plays super smooth and sounds amazing for $. Its light and it really feels like your hands glides across the fretboard. Never had an ibanez guitar before but I am super impressed with quality control. If you are a new player or are looking for a practice guitar to have around. I couldnt think of a better guitar than this one. It beats any squiers or epiphones at the price. Furthermore, buying from Sweetwater was an amazing experience. They were super helpful and very interested that my product gets here in good conditions. I recommend this place over guitar center.

Secondly theirs no such thing as"great first guitar" any guitar can be your first guitar regardless of price. This was not my first but is one of my favorites after my Schecter , the GRX is a solid guitar , has a great tone and sustain and is great for metal. Mine stays in tune forever , even when sitting for a period of time. I don't use the whammy bar so maybe that's why , but I've had no problems with this guitar , the set-up was perfect with no fret buzz. I have several guitars so I don't play it all the time , but when I'm playing metal I always go to this along with my Schecter , Jackson and BC Rich Warlock. The guitar is well balanced and the neck is fast and thin , whether you spend $200 or $500 , if the guitar is well built that's all that matters. I play guitar because I enjoy it and don't need a $1000 Gibson. The Ibanez GRX is a great guitar whether you're a beginner or experienced and is a great addition to your collection. Some of my favorite and go to guitars are Ibanez and Jackson and all in the $200-$300 range. Ibanez has been around forever and continues to put out quality guitars regardless of the price same as Jackson. This is a keeper and I'll be buying another Ibanez in the future!

I bought one of those for my kids and have to say that this guitar (bought for me) is so much better than the Squier in every way. It hangs on my living room wall for easy access. I hook it up to my Line6 Spider V MKII and it sounds like a $4000.00 Guitar. This guitar was set up and only needed a slight intonation adjustment on the Low E string. Everything else was dead-on! You will not be disappointed if you purchase this guitar for you or your kids. It is a budget guitar so expect a possible imperfection or two but it will not affect how it plays and sounds.

It's hard to describe but I can do things with this guitar that I could not do on my LB or my Strat. It's like the best of both.
Features:
The only thing I don't like is the Trem takes it out of tune if you use it. I left the bar off and don't use it to stop this but same thing happens on most guitars without a locking nut.
Ease of Use:
It's the best neck I have ever had, perfect if you can shred and perfect if you want to learn to shred. Honestly I think anyone will love the neck on these. I don't get the tired fingers like on a strat neck. and I don't feel like I have a cement guitar after 30 min of standing like with my LP.
Quality:
I found NO issues with quality with this guitar. My Epiphone LP had to go to the tech before I could play it because of faulty electronics and some sky scrapper frets. My strat came with high frets and needed work. This guitar costs less and needed nothing. And the finish is perfect.
Value:
I own a Epiphone LP special II and a Gibson LP standard and a 2000 Strat. I could buy two of these for what the LP's cost to make work. It's equal to my Strat and is more versatile. Save yourself some time trouble and cash get this before spending for anything else. You can get a fantastic amp for what you'll save.

Have not used them but I read they are good.
Overall:
This guitar arrived as if set up for me. intonation dead on, tuning took seconds and on the provided strings unlike the other guitars I have had, Epiphone, and Gibson this one needed no work, just tune it and play it. If you want to play and not be forced to become a guitar tech or pay one hundreds of dollars to make your new one work this is the way to go.

detailedReviews 6: content: I have been playing an Epiphone acoustic DR-100 Vintage Sunburst for a little over a year now.I got it as my first guitar on my 12th birthday, and I thought it was time to try an electric since I could manipulate the sound and could play quietly with headphones with one. My teacher also said it would be easier to play certain things. I got it for my 13th b-day a few weeks ago. I bought the Ibanez GRX70QA since I thought it would be a cheap practice guitar, but i got a lot more especially for the price.
Right out of the box it was amazing. The finish was not at all pronounced and you can barely tell it has a pattern until you put it right up to a light. That was sorta disappointing but the neck was awsome. the its color and material was great as well as the fretboard. the chrome hardware was better than the black i saw on some other ibanez guitars. right out of the box it has a great feel and even without the finish look. The whammy bar didn't to have much effect on the sound if at all, but that may just be me.it's easy to adjust the volume and tone as well as tune by ear. This is great for practice and i assume much more. I can play save tonight, closing time,and semptember gurls easily with this guitar. The wider strat cutaway is great so i can reach every single fret with ease. the pickups are great and the 5 way selector switch is extremely helpful. Overall an amazing guitar for the price and quality.I hope someone else has a similar experience.
P.S. Goes great with a fender amp (Of course what doesn't). I use a mustang with amazing results.

Started playing John Petrucci's "Wishful Thinking" and it played like a dream. It feels good and sturdy, the action is low and there's no fret buzz, the pickups are nice and hot. Turning the volume knob results in stiff resistance near the low end, but otherwise this guitar is the most spectacular deal I ever made. It looks great, the weight and feel is solid but comfortable to play, and it's a solid guitar for the price as far as I can tell as someone just starting out. I've played around with more expensive guitars and - ignorance aside - this seems to do everything I'd need it to without all the bells and whistles.
If I progress to a point to where it makes sense to upgrade, that day can come, but for the time being, this is a very playable guitar that looks and feels great at an extremely reasonable price.

I've got an Ibanez 1070 pbz premium that I wouldn't trade for the world but it's literally 6x the price. I bought the GIO for my wife and now that I've played it for a while I can see the difference in the 2 guitars. But had I not purchased the 1070 first I would've been completely content with the GIO. I've done a fret job on both of them to get the lowest possible action with no fret buzz. If someone doesn't have the means or know how to level the frets then I'm sure they'll still be satisfied with the neck on the GIO. As far as the electronics the humbuckers sound great with distortion and are a little muddy clean but that happens with any humbucker that's on the hotter side, but it has the single coil for bright clean tones. I've been playing for 20 years and I can't complain a bit about the GIO for the price. It's very upgradeable so it can grow with you as you get better and look for different tones. Most other guitars for this price doesn't play or sound nearly as good. Of course it'll need setup when you get it but I've never had a guitar shipped to me that was perfectly setup by the time it was delivered, the GIO was close but not perfect. detailedReviews 17: content: The Ibanez GIO series (I now have a bass and a guitar) are incredible for the money, if you are a beginner then this is the guitar for you, much better than equivalently prices guitars (won't get into smearing brands). The guitar playable, looks nice (even for an Ibanez, the one reason I never owned one all these years, was the aggressive styling) and had good tuning stability, despite having a standard tremelo arm. One thing I would say is, I have done a fair bit of my own set up work (I have learned how to do this over the years), so if you're buying your first guitar go in store and ask for a set up. The factory set up was poor. Having said that, I bought a 2k guitar from a massive brand not long ago and the factory set up was even worse. A set up is simple and as this price, you could buy from GAK and pop into a local guitar shop with a tech and you should pay around £20-50 for a full set up. If you're a beginner, you probably won't even notice the ser up issues, I am quite hard to please and I am honestly shocked at the quaiity Vs price. Pick ups sound lovely, broad pallete, maybe a little low output, not much hum from the single coil. A really good way to learn how to play and sculpt tone. Definitely the best beginner/budget guitar have ever seen of played.

I am relatively new to playing lefty, having injured my left hand so I had to switch so I could play normal chords. Switching has been tough, but this guitar has been really excellent for the most part. I had to adjust the action because it was way too low, and changed the strings, but it sounds really good and it's comfortable. For the price, I can't imagine finding anything better. It also looks better than the pictures.
Features:
The strings it comes with are bad, but that's no big deal. The guitar has a ton of versatility thanks to the pickup configuration. I paired it with my Blackstar HT20 amp head and 2x12 cabinet and I have no complaints on the tone at all. Especially for 250 dollars. The value of this guitar is incredible. It holds it's tune pretty well and the tremolo is a nice touch.
Ease of Use:
It's got a 5 way switch with 3 pickups and each switch gives you a distinct tone. I have had much more expensive guitars with less versatility. I can't really speak to playability too much, but as I said... out of the box the action made the guitar pretty much unplayable but that's an easy fix and probably not the same for every guitar. The neck feels good and I have been improving on it very quickly.
Quality:
The quality seems ok. The flamed maple top is clearly not actually a flamed maple top but it still looks good. It's darker than the pictures, which I am actually thankful for. Seems solid.
Value:
This is the best beginner guitar I could recommend for a lefty. The price to value ratio is unmatched. It's even possible to upgrade the pickups later for a more customized sound which makes this guitar infinitely playable and it will be a staple in my collection going forward.

I love this guitar. Purple is my favorite color and a hard one to find good guitars in. It looks great. It feels great and I have yet to find any significant issues with it. No problems with the frets or fret buzz. Action is easy and low. It sounds great with my Positive Grid Spark amp. The pickups sound great. The HSH setup is very versatile. Not the greatest with clean tones like my Stratocaster, but amazing with the right effects.

I suspect they set it up in the shop as it was 1.75 on the E and 1.5mm on the e. Intonation was almost spot on and the nut was perfectly cut. I love the neck. The fretboard was a bit dry from transport but some lem oil and it is great. Not used to a pine fretboard. Pickups are pretty good and the tonal variety is great. I really enjoyed playing it, just a shame it’s not a gift for me…. For the price this is great.

I looked at other guitars in this price range and the necks were terrible, sharp fret ends, uneven frets, shabby fretboard then there's this Ibanez, smooth, comfortable, easy playing neck. The fit and finish are of a much more expensive guitar and I am impressed. There is not a better guitar available even for twice what I paid for it. I am beyond happy.

With the way the bridge is set up and the string-thru-body design, I am able to get the strings in tune in no time and the strings tend to stay in tune longer- even longer than my more expensive Jackson! The pickups give me a clear and great tone also. The only thing that I will change about the guitar is the strings...(I'd like to put on D'Addario's NYXL .09/.42) Looks like I'll be playing an Ibanez for a long time.

I bought it for amateur gigging with my new band and it works like a dream, the wammy bar is perfect and sounds amazing. Such a great little guitar. I can tell the difference but someone that's not a fairly experienced musician wouldn't be able to tell a difference, I wouldn't trade my 1070 for the world but even someone that's been playing for several years won't be disappointed with the gio. I leveled the frets and rounded the edges so it really plays like a dream now!

After I've set it up for what works for me by tightening the neck bolts, adjusting the trust rod, adjusting the action, adjusting the intonation, adjusting the height of the pickups, and replacing the strings with medium, flat wound stainless strings, it is a hot rod. Wow! It sounds as good as many very expensive guitars. I recommend it very highly.

It needed very slight truss adjustments, but after that, some tremolo bar adjustments, and tuning and intonation to drop-C (I play metal), it sounds amazing. This was my seventh guitar and it is probably my best in terms of sound and hardware quality. The only surprise I got with it was that the green is darker than what is depicted here, however, it still looks amazing. The final verdict is that this is an amazing guitar. I would recommend it to anyone.

Not real bad but enough that I noticed it moving up and down the neck. Otherwise a great guitar. I really like the way it sits on me when I play sitting down. My Strat likes to move around when sitting but the Ibanez just falls naturally to a spot and stays put. After tweeting it in and doing a full setup which I always do. As far as this goes, I like the fact that they give you two humbuckers and a single coil to mess around with. It provides a lot of added versatility, allowing you to dial in way more tones than the traditional dual humbucker setup. The trem is okay, I don't mess around with it too much, and the tuners are fantastic. She tunes like a charm and stays put, standard or alternate tuning.
Overall a great build, seems solid enough, tuners are great, trem does its job, not too many complaints about the neck... only complaint was some kinda glue on the frets... but it washes off easy enough and doesn't do any harm.
I'm not going to lie, for the price I expected a little bit more, but it isn't bad.

But, that wasn't what was pictured or described. Otherwise the guitar was fine for the price range. I am sending it back though and getting something different. Set Up on tremolo system was poorly done.
Don't expect perfection on a guitar at this price and if you have the ability to remedy some of the negative points of the GRX70QA, by all means consider it if you are looking for a practice or 1st guitar.

Its a screw on neck, i believe, no metal plate, just washers. Mid pickup is way too high and cant be lowered without me either replacing screws or routing deeper, which i dont want to have to do. Tonally, it sounds great, nice fret board, but again, material quality for fretboards questionable. Its an atypical fretboard wood but it plays well, and its new, so, longevity hasnt been tested. Frets could have been filed better but theyre going to get a pass. For the price though i guess i'll keep it, in general, i like the guitar for the price.

The strings were another issue when I took it out of the box, which wasn't surprising since it is pretty common for guitars in this price range to come with crummy strings. Not much information about which one fits a left handed Gio but found the W250 Ibanez case that should work. Not sure about expectations yet but I would likely change the pick-ups but otherwise its hard to tell whether this is an inexpensive or expensive electric guitar. Pretty satisfied right now.

I play right handed guitar upside down ( I am really a drummer ) and decided to try and learn the "proper" way with an actual left handed guitar . Forget it ! It's way too hard for me after playing upside down all these years . But as for the guitar , it really is a very nice and well made inexpensive model. I would recommend this guitar for any beginner or advanced player for that matter. The quilted blue finish is beautiful and is a bit darker than the picture online. It has a nice raunchy sound as well as a nice clean tone also if you choose. Stays in tune very well. All in all , for $249 it is a good deal. I just don't have the patience right now to relearn holding the chords the right way. So it's upside down for me . I play that way because my brother is a right handed guitarist and I watched how he held chords , so I turned his guitar upside down and held them the same way . People always freak out when I play their right handed guitar. It has gotten me plenty of free beers at beach parties !! Rock on !!

It needed very slight truss adjustments, but after that, some tremolo bar adjustments, and tuning and intonation to drop-C (I play metal), it sounds amazing. This was my seventh guitar and it is probably my best in terms of sound and hardware quality. The only surprise I got with it was that the green is darker than what is depicted here, however, it still looks amazing. The final verdict is that this is an amazing guitar. I would recommend it to anyone.

I love this guitar. Purple is my favorite color and a hard one to find good guitars in. It looks great. It feels great and I have yet to find any significant issues with it. No problems with the frets or fret buzz. Action is easy and low. It sounds great with my Positive Grid Spark amp. The pickups sound great. The HSH setup is very versatile. Not the greatest with clean tones like my Stratocaster, but amazing with the right effects.

If I progress to a point to where it makes sense to upgrade, that day can come, but for the time being, this is a very playable guitar that looks and feels great at an extremely reasonable price.

I read some of these negative reviews and can't understand what they're talking about. This guitar is probably the best guitar for $200 I ever played , right out of the box it was setup perfectly. All I did was tune it , I've even got the same strings it came with. Which I normally change whenever I get a new guitar. The tuners are unbelievably tight , this guitar barely goes out of tune even if it has been sitting for weeks. Also I never attached the whammy bar , so I can't speak on that throwing it out of tune. Since I have over a dozen guitars I don't usually play it daily , but when I do it always makes me glad I purchased it. This is a very versatile guitar , I play mostly metal and this thing shreds. But I also play blues and it sounds just as good as my custom strat. I bought an Epiphone SG special in the same price range and let's just say the setup is night and day , the tuners absolutely sucked , "already replaced them" and the intonation was off. It was a mess , I've already put it on Craig's list and bought a G400 Pro instead , 10x better quality and setup , but I digress. I've got many high priced guitars but always go back to the GRX , the playability and neck feels so comfortable to play. The only thing I'm going to do eventually is throw in a Seymour Duncan humbucker and I'm definitely keeping this guitar. I don't know how Ibanez can sell this for $200 and keep the quality , but I'm certainly not going to complain. Whether you're a beginner or experienced this guitar delivers. Definitely will be purchasing another Ibanez down the road.

Never had an ibanez guitar before but I am super impressed with quality control. If you are a new player or are looking for a practice guitar to have around. I have several guitars so I don't play it all the time , but when I'm playing metal I always go to this along with my Schecter , Jackson and BC Rich Warlock. The guitar is well balanced and the neck is fast and thin , whether you spend $200 or $500 , if the guitar is well built that's all that matters. I play guitar because I enjoy it and don't need a $1000 Gibson. The Ibanez GRX is a great guitar whether you're a beginner or experienced and is a great addition to your collection. Some of my favorite and go to guitars are Ibanez and Jackson and all in the $200-$300 range. Ibanez has been around forever and continues to put out quality guitars regardless of the price same as Jackson. This is a keeper and I'll be buying another Ibanez in the future!

detailedReviews 148: content: The few bad reviews come from people expecting way too much for a dual humbucker guitar for less than 200. I've got an Ibanez 1070 pbz premium that I wouldn't trade for the world but it's literally 6x the price. I bought the GIO for my wife and now that I've played it for a while I can see the difference in the 2 guitars. But had I not purchased the 1070 first I would've been completely content with the GIO. I've done a fret job on both of them to get the lowest possible action with no fret buzz. If someone doesn't have the means or know how to level the frets then I'm sure they'll still be satisfied with the neck on the GIO. As far as the electronics the humbuckers sound great with distortion and are a little muddy clean but that happens with any humbucker that's on the hotter side, but it has the single coil for bright clean tones. I've been playing for 20 years and I can't complain a bit about the GIO for the price. It's very upgradeable so it can grow with you as you get better and look for different tones. Most other guitars for this price doesn't play or sound nearly as good. Of course it'll need setup when you get it but I've never had a guitar shipped to me that was perfectly setup by the time it was delivered, the GIO was close but not perfect. The guitar playable, looks nice (even for an Ibanez, the one reason I never owned one all these years, was the aggressive styling) and had good tuning stability, despite having a standard tremelo arm. One thing I would say is, I have done a fair bit of my own set up work (I have learned how to do this over the years), so if you're buying your first guitar go in store and ask for a set up. The factory set up was poor. Having said that, I bought a 2k guitar from a massive brand not long ago and the factory set up was even worse. A set up is simple and as this price, you could buy from GAK and pop into a local guitar shop with a tech and you should pay around £20-50 for a full set up. If you're a beginner, you probably won't even notice the ser up issues, I am quite hard to please and I am honestly shocked at the quaiity Vs price. Pick ups sound lovely, broad pallete, maybe a little low output, not much hum from the single coil. A really good way to learn how to play and sculpt tone. Definitely the best beginner/budget guitar have ever seen of played.

The strings it comes with are bad, but that's no big deal. The guitar has a ton of versatility thanks to the pickup configuration. I paired it with my Blackstar HT20 amp head and 2x12 cabinet and I have no complaints on the tone at all. Especially for 250 dollars. The value of this guitar is incredible. It holds it's tune pretty well and the tremolo is a nice touch.
Ease of Use:
It's got a 5 way switch with 3 pickups and each switch gives you a distinct tone. I have had much more expensive guitars with less versatility. I can't really speak to playability too much, but as I said... out of the box the action made the guitar pretty much unplayable but that's an easy fix and probably not the same for every guitar. The neck feels good and I have been improving on it very quickly.
Quality:
The quality seems ok. The flamed maple top is clearly not actually a flamed maple top but it still looks good. It's darker than the pictures, which I am actually thankful for. Seems solid.
Value:
This is the best beginner guitar I could recommend for a lefty. The price to value ratio is unmatched. It's even possible to upgrade the pickups later for a more customized sound which makes this guitar infinitely playable and it will be a staple in my collection going forward.

I love this guitar. Purple is my favorite color and a hard one to find good guitars in. It looks great. It feels great and I have yet to find any significant issues with it. No problems with the frets or fret buzz. Action is easy and low. It sounds great with my Positive Grid Spark amp. The pickups sound great. The HSH setup is very versatile. Not the greatest with clean tones like my Stratocaster, but amazing with the right effects.

I really enjoyed playing it, just a shame it’s not a gift for me…. For the price this is great.

With the way the bridge is set up and the string-thru-body design, I am able to get the strings in tune in no time and the strings tend to stay in tune longer- even longer than my more expensive Jackson! The only thing that I will change about the guitar is the strings...(I'd like to put on D'Addario's NYXL .09/.42) Looks like I'll be playing an Ibanez for a long time.

The only thing I don't like is the Trem takes it out of tune if you use it. I left the bar off and don't use it to stop this but same thing happens on most guitars without a locking nut.
Ease of Use:
It's the best neck I have ever had, perfect if you can shred and perfect if you want to learn to shred. Honestly I think anyone will love the neck on these. I don't get the tired fingers like on a strat neck. and I don't feel like I have a cement guitar after 30 min of standing like with my LP.
Quality:
I found NO issues with quality with this guitar. My Epiphone LP had to go to the tech before I could play it because of faulty electronics and some sky scrapper frets. My strat came with high frets and needed work. This guitar costs less and needed nothing. And the finish is perfect.
Value:
I own a Epiphone LP special II and a Gibson LP standard and a 2000 Strat. I could buy two of these for what the LP's cost to make work. It's equal to my Strat and is more versatile. Save yourself some time trouble and cash get this before spending for anything else. You can get a fantastic amp for what you'll save.

Have not used them but I read they are good.
Overall:
This guitar arrived as if set up for me. intonation dead on, tuning took seconds and on the provided strings unlike the other guitars I have had, Epiphone, and Gibson this one needed no work, just tune it and play it. If you want to play and not be forced to become a guitar tech or pay one hundreds of dollars to make your new one work this is the way to go.

I can tell the difference but someone that's not a fairly experienced musician wouldn't be able to tell a difference, I wouldn't trade my 1070 for the world but even someone that's been playing for several years won't be disappointed with the gio. I leveled the frets and rounded the edges so it really plays like a dream now!

Right out of the box it was amazing. The finish was not at all pronounced and you can barely tell it has a pattern until you put it right up to a light. That was sorta disappointing but the neck was awsome. the its color and material was great as well as the fretboard. the chrome hardware was better than the black i saw on some other ibanez guitars. right out of the box it has a great feel and even without the finish look. The whammy bar didn't to have much effect on the sound if at all, but that may just be me.it's easy to adjust the volume and tone as well as tune by ear. This is great for practice and i assume much more. I can play save tonight, closing time,and semptember gurls easily with this guitar. The wider strat cutaway is great so i can reach every single fret with ease. the pickups are great and the 5 way selector switch is extremely helpful. Overall an amazing guitar for the price and quality.I hope someone else has a similar experience.
P.S. Goes great with a fender amp (Of course what doesn't). I use a mustang with amazing results.

The Epiphone special was ok for cords but the action was too high on all of them I tested. This may be the best entry level guitar for you money.

Not real bad but enough that I noticed it moving up and down the neck. Otherwise a great guitar. I really like the way it sits on me when I play sitting down. My Strat likes to move around when sitting but the Ibanez just falls naturally to a spot and stays put. After tweeting it in and doing a full setup which I always do. It is a great playing good sounding guitar. I also changed the strings out as always because I like the Daddario nickel wound light top/heavy bottom strings . Holds tuning great.

As far as this goes, I like the fact that they give you two humbuckers and a single coil to mess around with. It provides a lot of added versatility, allowing you to dial in way more tones than the traditional dual humbucker setup. The trem is okay, I don't mess around with it too much, and the tuners are fantastic. She tunes like a charm and stays put, standard or alternate tuning.
Overall a great build, seems solid enough, tuners are great, trem does its job, not too many complaints about the neck... only complaint was some kinda glue on the frets... but it washes off easy enough and doesn't do any harm.
I'm not going to lie, for the price I expected a little bit more, but it isn't bad.

It arrived in immaculate shape, and I immediately put it through its paces, and it stood up (to my surprise) to whatever I threw at it. Started playing John Petrucci's "Wishful Thinking" and it played like a dream. It feels good and sturdy, the action is low and there's no fret buzz, the pickups are nice and hot. Turning the volume knob results in stiff resistance near the low end, but otherwise this guitar is the most spectacular deal I ever made. I can tell, already, that this will be my main guitar, and the others will be the reserves, lol!

Its a screw on neck, i believe, no metal plate, just washers. Mid pickup is way too high and cant be lowered without me either replacing screws or routing deeper, which i dont want to have to do. Tonally, it sounds great, nice fret board, but again, material quality for fretboards questionable. Its an atypical fretboard wood but it plays well, and its new, so, longevity hasnt been tested. Frets could have been filed better but theyre going to get a pass. For the price though i guess i'll keep it, in general, i like the guitar for the price.

Not real bad but enough that I noticed it moving up and down the neck. Otherwise a great guitar. I really like the way it sits on me when I play sitting down. My Strat likes to move around when sitting but the Ibanez just falls naturally to a spot and stays put. After tweeting it in and doing a full setup which I always do. It is a great playing good sounding guitar. I also changed the strings out as always because I like the Daddario nickel wound light top/heavy bottom strings . Holds tuning great.

I could have sworn it had a 3 way switch installed instead of the 5 way that is factory. I played with the switch and worked it back and forth and it finally hit all 5 positions. I plugged it into my 68 fender band master amp. And she sings like a bird. I couldn't be happier with the tones you get from the pickup configuration on this guitar. If you can put up with minor quality issues, then buy it. It really is a great guitar for the price point.

This guitar is beautiful & seems to be well made for the price. The neck & frets are very smooth. The only thing I caution against is trying to replace the screws with strap locks.
Don't do it!! You'll chip & crack the paint finish around the screw holes.

As far as this goes, I like the fact that they give you two humbuckers and a single coil to mess around with. It provides a lot of added versatility, allowing you to dial in way more tones than the traditional dual humbucker setup. The trem is okay, I don't mess around with it too much, and the tuners are fantastic. She tunes like a charm and stays put, standard or alternate tuning.
Overall a great build, seems solid enough, tuners are great, trem does its job, not too many complaints about the neck... only complaint was some kinda glue on the frets... but it washes off easy enough and doesn't do any harm.
I'm not going to lie, for the price I expected a little bit more, but it isn't bad.

I've had it about one month but have not used it much because I am waiting for delivery of a hard case. Not much information about which one fits a left handed Gio but found the W250 Ibanez case that should work. AMS did not have the case and ordered it from another company and still waiting for delivery. Not sure about expectations yet but I would likely change the pick-ups but otherwise its hard to tell whether this is an inexpensive or expensive electric guitar. Pretty satisfied right now.

I ordered it online when it was on backorder and it arrived two weeks ahead of schedule, which was nice. It needed very slight truss adjustments, but after that, some tremolo bar adjustments, and tuning and intonation to drop-C (I play metal), it sounds amazing. This was my seventh guitar and it is probably my best in terms of sound and hardware quality. The only surprise I got with it was that the green is darker than what is depicted here, however, it still looks amazing. The final verdict is that this is an amazing guitar. I would recommend it to anyone.

I play right handed guitar upside down ( I am really a drummer ) and decided to try and learn the "proper" way with an actual left handed guitar . Forget it ! It's way too hard for me after playing upside down all these years . But as for the guitar , it really is a very nice and well made inexpensive model. I would recommend this guitar for any beginner or advanced player for that matter. The quilted blue finish is beautiful and is a bit darker than the picture online. It has a nice raunchy sound as well as a nice clean tone also if you choose. Stays in tune very well. All in all , for $249 it is a good deal. I just don't have the patience right now to relearn holding the chords the right way. So it's upside down for me . I play that way because my brother is a right handed guitarist and I watched how he held chords , so I turned his guitar upside down and held them the same way . People always freak out when I play their right handed guitar. It has gotten me plenty of free beers at beach parties !! Rock on !!

Started playing John Petrucci's "Wishful Thinking" and it played like a dream. It feels good and sturdy, the action is low and there's no fret buzz, the pickups are nice and hot. Turning the volume knob results in stiff resistance near the low end, but otherwise this guitar is the most spectacular deal I ever made. I can tell, already, that this will be my main guitar, and the others will be the reserves, lol!
