This is appalling in terms of a running shoe - you don't want anything that might cause blisters etc. Also the size was slightly smaller than the exact same size I always wear. In addition to the hole, for me they are not comfortable after walking for a bit, seem worn down pretty quick. I do about 3-5 miles a day of walking so most shoes will last 6 months, not these.
I can not recommend them.

Customer service was very rude when I went to the store to have the tags removed. Obviously the shoes were not checked prior to being shipped out.
