detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: This is a review for rtx 4070 omen gaming laptop 16-wf0262TX, Black (shame that I have to mention the model specificly, since all laptop reviews are mixed up on one single thread)
Build quality: decent rigidity on the keyboard part, but the display part of laptop felt cheap. Considering the price its a bit disappointing, spoiled my unboxing experience.
Screen quality: as soon as I booted up the laptop, I noticed that there was something wrong with the screen, specially with the text on the screen, It was blurry on the edges, I was able to resolve this a bit, through settings, but this i was unhappy with the results, its still a bit blurry, many people have pointed out that the display should have been 2k display, which i agree since 4070 can easily process 2k.
Sound: This is by far the most disappointing specially with the B&O branding hp slaps on their laptops, while the clarity is great the loudness is pathetic, my phone had louder sounds than this laptop. Gave me a feeling that these guys are cost cutting on these features, I thought this was limited to HP only, same is with other reputable brand laptops as well, I personally checked in their showrooms. I would happily pay more if they promise better sound. Speaking of paying more, I think a fingerprint scanner would have been way more convenient on this. Overall I feel like omen lacks all these features to truly call it as "premium".
The CPU, GPU and ram do their jobs well, as expected.
The cooling is best part of this laptop. For us indians this is nice, it reaches upto 85°c under heavy loads, but the fans are handling it very well. I believe this js what separates victus from omen.
The elephant in room: Hall sensor issue, I came to know about this after placing the order, unfortunately its gonna happen sooner or later, but I convinced myself to work with this compromise, as other brands have some serious risk related to motherboard and all. For people who dont know: hall sensor is a part of laptop which tells laptop if the lid is closed or not, so the laptop knows when it is put to sleep. Due to some genius designer at HP, this hall sensor is placed at the back, near the area which heats up the most. This is valid for the models which have ports at the back. So eventually the hall sensor melts and the laptop goes into sleep mode. Removing the hall sensor is the most efficient solution people / technician found.
One more thing, the steam credits are only worth ₹2.5k and NOT ₹13.5k as some people like me may have assumed. The hyperx headphone are decent with above average build quality, the conectivity via the Bluetooth pendrive feels kinda old, great for pc owners, but I wish normal connectivity would have been better.
I havent installed the protegent anti-virus yet, but I think i will avoid it. Moreover I might un-install McAfee as well, seems like its gonna slow down the laptop once the disk gets filled eventually.
Few more tidbits: The laptop freezes for a few seconds when it goes from dedicated to internal gpu, my 5 year old laptop didn't have this issue.
I havent completely tested battery yet, But I think it will last for a good while.
I have tried to write realistic review, anythjng else that I have not mentioned, you can assume that HP has done it really well.
I just wish hp india were as good as the HP USA or HP EU. There are a lots of people interested in buying good gaming laptops like omen, but the site is filled with 2-3 year old models (some with known issues) and newer ones are sold at very inflated prices compared to around the world. The LEVELUP offers should have been available in india as well, and we are majorly missing on the rtx50 series, I wish we had the 2TB and 2k models as well, it would make HP monopoly if they could do it.

detailedReviews 2: content: I purchased this HP laptop on 25th April 2025. While the overall performance and build quality are quite good, there are some serious concerns that affected my experience:
🔈 Speaker Issue
The laptop speakers seem underpowered. I always have to keep the volume at 100% just to hear things properly. Anything below that feels too low, even in a quiet room. I updated all audio drivers, but unfortunately, it didn't make any difference.
📅 Warranty Mismatch
When I checked the warranty details, I found that it had already started in October 2024, even though I bought the laptop in April 2025. This is very suspicious and concerning. I contacted HP support, and they assured me they would correct the warranty dates, but this kind of issue shouldn't happen in the first place.
🔋 Battery Concerns
There is a noticeable gap between the battery’s design capacity and its current capacity, which affects battery life. Even after performing a battery calibration (with HP’s help), there was no improvement.
😤 Frustrating Support Experience
What made things worse was the lack of available support on weekends. I ended up wasting four full days trying to get help. For the past two days, the HP team has been remotely debugging the issues and performing calibrations, but I still don’t have satisfactory results.
I also requested a replacement, but they said it will take time—which adds more delay to an already frustrating experience.
⚠️ Final Thoughts
HP really needs to ensure proper quality checks and configuration before delivering the product to customers. Based on my experience, I strongly suggest that others buy HP laptops offline from an HP store or a trusted retailer like Croma, so you can check important details like:
Speaker quality
Battery health
Warranty start date
Don’t rely blindly on online purchases—do a full check before buying. I hope HP improves its after-sales support and product validation process, as that would make a big difference.

detailedReviews 3: content: I would have given this a 5 star review but because I suspect that I did not get the best deal I gave it 4 stars. This is more of a reflection on the HP decision makers when it comes to pricing deals rather than the Omen itself.
After I purchased this particular Omen I found other deals were offering a 1TB SSD (mine is 500GB) and an i9 processor (mine is an i7) and a later version NVidia graphics card for similar money.
I expected that HP would have given me a better discount (I paid AUD$2,474) because this Omen was an i7 with only 500GB SSD. While I appreciated the EOFY discount I am certain some of these discounts are not offered at a low enough price relative to other discounts for the same model (Omen) but different configuration. So to some extent we rely on HP to ensure that all discounts are proportionate and relative to similar offerings for the same computer model. I felt that I could have got a better deal on another Omen if I looked around a bit more.
My lesson here was that I should have done more comparisons and more searching for the best possible deal as I now understand that even HP may not make all their discounts reasonable when compared to similar deals. Some some deals are great and some deals are not so great. My deal in my opinion was not so great, but the Omen is a great laptop from a technical perspective and my deal was still good value.
I am more than happy with the Omen anyway, I just feel a little short changed, but the Omen I have will still exceed my needs (mostly video editing but still want the grunt for gaming) because it is one powerful laptop. Overall I would by an Omen again as my first choice but would be more vigilant on the cost vs the configuration and would have paid a little more for the i9 with a 1TB SSD and later version NVidia.
Some reviews have stated that the laptop lid is a little too flexible and could vibrate when on a plane. I think this might be true if there is turbulence in which case a flexible lid is a good thing and you would not be using the laptop during turbulence anyway. So I do not agree that a flexible lid is a bad thing. I think is a good thing and I don't fly often anyway and even if I did I about the lid would wobble during normal flight.
Other reviews claim the lid is make of plastic and the body of aluminum. I cannot tell. If this lid is plastic it is definitely a high quality plastic. I personally am not that concerned as it is high quality but I understand while some people will feel that aluminum is a superior material. But in my opinion a good quality plastic resin is fine and nothing to fuss about.
To sum up, I felt that HP could have discounted this laptop even more given that is it an i7 and not an i9 processor, it is a 500GB SSD and not a 1TB SSD and the nVidia card is an older generation. But whatever configuration you buy the Omen is still the best choice in my opinion if you want to gaming and/or video editing/multimedia.

detailedReviews 4: content: I’m writing this review with a bitter taste in my mouth. The laptop I purchased, in my mind, was supposed to be a reliable computer in every aspect, both in terms of performance and build quality. This is what you expect when you spend £1500. The performance is good and matches my expectations, but the chassis quality is nothing short of poor.
HP prides itself on using recycled materials for its computers, but this would only be acceptable if it resulted in a competitive price compared to other brands. Instead, the quality drops drastically while the price remains the same as the competition, ultimately increasing HP’s profit margin.
I’ll be honest: I would have exercised my right to return it, but for personal reasons, I can’t.
In short: a powerful laptop inside a £500 chassis. I’ll have to handle it like a crystal vase because that’s exactly how it feels in my hands.

detailedReviews 5: content: I enjoyed having this laptop while it was working. Unfortunately, it began crashing to a black screen. It would recover in a minute or so. I used CPUID HWMonitor and saw that the CPU was spiking into the red. Decided to try HP's fan diagnostic. It ran for a minute or two and then black screened again and this time did not recover. Took it to BestBuy for warranty repair (12/13/23). They ordered a part but had no ETA on when they'd recieve it. On 1/19/24 they called to say it was ready for pickup at the local store. I got it on 1/20/24 and found it was unrepaired. I turned it on, it got to the desktop and crashed to black. Attaching to an external monitor doesn't work. I now have to figure out the warranty return with HP. In over 30 years of buying HP products, this is the first time I've had an issue. In my view, quality products, occasional problems. I would, and will, buy again from HP.

detailedReviews 6: content: I bought this laptop a month ago. I am a video game artist so I needed a new powerful laptop for on the go work as well as gaming just for fun.
This laptop has been GREAT so far, absolutely no flaws and I find it runs everything perfectly fine, I compare it to my pc and they are very similar at times.
Addressing some quality issues I saw others complain about, the screen IS def bright enough and looks good, not sure why anyone would feel the need to have something more powerful.
When the laptop needs to power on it does take about 40 seconds and sometimes I have to press the button a few times for the laptop to wake up, but who actually cares about that stuff. It doesn’t bother me so unless you’re about to do a presentation at work it shouldn’t bother you.

detailedReviews 7: content: I discussed this model with an HP SALESPERSON, and said I was interested in it, by virtue of it having 2TB of storage. I said that I did not want it for gaming, but I have a large collection of music, that I use as a DJ with windows media player, and I needed more than the 1TB of my current HP laptop. I was never informed that Microsoft have discontinued the long standing windows media player, in favour of something called windows media legacy, that does not do the job. A complete waste of money for me.

detailedReviews 8: content: Needed a portable gaming and work platform to take with me on my lap around Australia. So far it is performing beautifully in all respects. Powerful gaming rig lets me play via Starlink. Fantastic display and the mobile GPU is up to the task. As far as a work platform, well let’s just I haven’t done any yet. 😊😁.

detailedReviews 9: content: I'm giving this a four star for two reasons :
1) It was delivered within 2 days, but just left at my door for a few hours (no courier signature required).
2) I was told it had an IR camera so I could use Windows Hello, but it turns out that it doesn't have the required camera and have to revert to the antiquated password method now.
Barring those two things, it's been great so far. Runs smoothly and quietly. Pity there is so much crap installed (like VPN software and McAfee) but you can delete them.
