snippets: This keyboard works flawlessly without a DAW, and the MIDI Functionality and connectivity is fine. This is a small, cheap keyboard. But it works in small spaces in my road kit and for DAWless recording.
type: ARTICLE
items 4: content: The short of it, and I'll fill in later...
I got this NOT to use with a DAW. I got it to control my mini synth stuff like, say Roland P6, that typically have 1/8" midi connectors.
This keyboard uses MIDI Channel 1 and has a "Type B" 1/8" MIDI output. To connect it to gear that has Type B, such as Artura, for example, you can simply use a 1/8" jumper for MIDI connection. Done.
To connect to a "Type A" device, such as my Roland Aria devices, it's much more complicated:
Keyboard -> Type B 1/8" to MIDI DIN Adaptor -> Male-to-Male MIDI DIN jumper -> MIDI DIN to Type A Adaptor -> Roland Type A device
That's the essence of it.
That said, this keyboard works flawlessly without a DAW, and the MIDI Functionality and connectivity is fine.
This is a small, cheap keyboard. But it works in small spaces in my road kit and for DAWless recording. SInce I'm not part of a huge show entourage, the LAST thing I want is to be dragging around a laptop as part of my stage setup. All that leads to is more problems, and a beat up laptop... a situation I can't afford anyway.
I don't know about the DAW software included, or the learning programs. I will definitely use it with a DAW on latop later, but it's not my priority. Great price and it does what I want. No way it replaces a weighted 88 key keyboard, of course.

items 2: content: The short of it, and I'll fill in later...
No way it replaces a weighted 88 key keyboard, of course.

snippets: now while I think this board is absolutely dope I'm not sure that it deserves the pro moniker and let me tell you why first being the software package that it comes with so they say that it comes with uh the melodyx 43 lessons thing you can do what you want to do with that but they say that it also comes with Cubase Le wave lab le cubasis le which when you open the box there's no software card there's no nothing anything like that in there even looking through the manual there is no instructions in the manual on how to uh redeem that so you're just stuck trying to figure out I guess how to to download the software that you purchase there's no redemption code or anything like that and the fact that you're paying a hundred bucks for this thing and 200 bucks if you're buying it directly from the Donner website they should have some better software that comes with it or have a better method of Distributing the software that they say comes along with it because other midi controllers in this price range come with software come with a ton of vsts and different things that you can use so that's really a major con for me when it comes to this board

snippets: the last major con I'll give with this and it's not really a con it's really more of a preference is that I really love these keys and I really hate the fact that this is only 25 keys if they had done something like what a Kai just did with the MK Mini Plus and made it something like this and gave me more range to play with I think that this would be a really solid Vibe because I really actually like the keys on this better than I like the keys on the mpk Mini Plus

items 12: content: While the DMK-25 Pro offers many assignable controls, it lacks auto-mapping for most DAWs, requiring users to manually assign each button, knob, and slider within their software, which can be a time-consuming and less beginner-friendly process compared to controllers with direct DAW integration.
