items: items 1: content: The SanDisk Ultra Luxe USB 3.1 Flash Drive 64Gb is compact with an aluminium body. When inserted into an USB 3 port it will read at the specified speed of 150Mbs. When writing files which are a total of 1Gb and larger it will start at 50Mbs but within 20 seconds the drive will become very hot and the speed will drop to 15Mbs. All additional data copied once the drive is hot will also copy at 15Mbs. This is the same speed as any normal USB 2.0 drive which do not generate any heat. I have little confidence this drive will store my data error free over the long term as the heat generated when writing will eventually destroy the drive. It is also quite tight to insert and remove however this is not performance issue.

items 3: content: Though this was great and fast, it gets super hot from day one. So as any electronic device that gets too hot, it overheats and then fails. That is what is happening to me now. It is now always failing. Had videos and they started showing random pixelated blocks on the screen, and repeating those videos the spots would remain showing those blocks. This is a sign of being corrupted. Then plugging into my computer it starts to load but forever loads then disconnects in the middle of a transfer. It now can't handle anything and I'm about ready to throw this away. It lasted maybe 6 months. For the price when I bought it, just a waste of a money.

items 4: content: I use this flash drive for multimedia storage in my car. I find the flash drive becomes very-very hot after a short while. I was very surprised how hot it is and the risk of burned skin is very real. I ended up using other flash drive. I am very disappointed by the quality of this product which is coming from one of the biggest player in the industry. I thought it becomes hot only if I use it in my car, but the same thing happened when I plugged the flash drive in my laptop, albeit not as hot.
I don't know how this product passed consumer test. If this product was sold elsewhere, there will be a class action suit.
This product does not deserve to be sold and should be recalled. Sandisk should pay attention to my comment.

items 5: content: Performance:Write speed reduce significantly when copy big files(>1GB) to pendrive.
1. Pendrives were prepared fast and sent with bubble envelope.
2. Pendrive heat up rapidly during continuous read/write. Casing is also significantly hotter than plastic pendrive.
3. Delivery took 7 days from KL to KK, totally unacceptable.

items 6: content: I was excited about my purchase after my old SanDisk Cruiser Glide 64GB decided to retire after 7 years of great service.
I am a bit disappointed with this new SanDisk 256GB Ultra Luxe Flash drive for two reasons. Firstly, It is very tight and does not fit into all my USB ports. Secondly, The occasional time I forced into one of the ports and transferred some files into it, It became very hot. I have now resulted to loading it with all movies and using it as storage instead of being able to transfer files from one device to another as I had intended it.

items 7: content: I bought the 256GB version and liked it enough to buy the 512GB. It's tiny but fast. The all metal case looks like it can handle a lot of abuse too.
My only issue is the heat buildup when writing data. These drives get too hot to touch. Seriously, it gets skin burning hot. It's not a problem when reading data though. Otherwise it's a great drive.

items 8: content: Have had one of these for a few years now. I use it mainly for Djing, so speed is really important. While it was decent for the first few months, it gets REALLY hot now that the storage is 3/4 full and feels like it is slower load files (mp3 & WAV) compared to the slightly cheaper (non luxe) ultras (which have pretty much the same music on them). Durability with the metal casing is nice, which must be the trade off hot fingers. If you don't worry about looks that much just get the non-luxe version :)

items 9: content: I have been using this drive for about 3 weeks now, transferring large files and what not. The drive is very well designed and because its metal gives it a nice premium heft to it compared to plastic drives. Its pretty fast, averaging at 130mbps on a USB 3.1 port, but unusually gets very hot easily when having the drive plugged in for some time or transferring large files. Also since it's metal, it gets scratched easily. Not bad, but not the best!

items 10: content: This sleek and slim USB flash drive does the job but can get quite hot when in use. The metallic finish looks very good and hopefully will prevent the unit from breaking up from the heat as other plastic USB flash drives have been reported to suffer from.I wish write speeds were faster but read speeds appear to be acceptable as watching videos from the flash drive on my Samsung Smart TV has no issues.I reformatted the flash drive to get rid of the included software that I have no use for. It formatted with a total capacity of 233 GB. I am concerned about the longevity because of the heat but it serves the purpose I bought it for.

items 11: content: I've added some screenshots testing the read and write speed, and as well as verifying the storage space. I've used h2testw in checking the storage space, and it is prove to state the real capacity.I also used CrystalDiskMark for the read and write speed test. I've run 2 test, first is the Default profile setting, and the other one running a Real World Performance profile setting. Please check it for reference. The only problem I saw, the unit conducts heat after several minutes of use.

items 13: content: This is alright, its easy to use, tons of space, 2 minor issues. 1, while it is big on storage...its really physically small. While this seems like a positive, and it is, to a point. For me at least, its so small that I lose track of it VERY easily. Ive lost this sucker IN MY POCKET multiple times already. So, its really small, might be a bonus for you, but it depends on your preference. 2nd, Ive noticed its really warm when I take it out of my computer. Thats a little concerning. It still works great, but how warm its getting is a worry. Overall, its not bad, does what its supposed to, just a bit too small for my preference and it getting warm is a concern.

items 14: content: Loved the aesthetic of this, but in practice it fell very short on usability and ease of carry.
Its design and sharp corners make it grossly unsuitable for use on a keychain, the loop is angled so that it only sits flat with the keys when round one way, it you get it wrong it will stick out a 45 degrees. The sharp corners were uncomfortable all the time.
On multiple devices it was a very very tight fit in the port, needing far more effort to plug in and pull out than any other flash drive I have used, to the point where I would be worried about it damaging ports over time. As others have mentioned it quickly get quite hot, which, while I am sure was well within its operating tolerances, is still a bit alarming.

items 15: content: I was excited about this Ultra Luxe flash drive but disappointed when I got it home and started using it. It is tiny and the metal surface make it look very hip. But trying to insert it into my port is almost impossible. The metal surface makes it slippery and hard to grip. It needs to be pushed so hard that I'm concerned that something will get damaged. Even my husband has difficulty forcing it into the port, and we've tried it on a couple computers. It's just as hard to pull back out. Looks are deceiving... it's attractive, but almost impossible to use.

items 16: content: I was looking for a sturdy replacement drive to have on my keyring - I read all the reviews about sharp edges, tight fit, weird angles and getting hot but figured I'd give it a go anyway - SanDisk is usually my go-to for usb drives.
Sharp edges - yes but acceptable, tight fit - definitely but workable, weird angles - yes but added a small extra split-ring which solved that problem, getting hot - a bit I suppose, with it being metal it is probably more likely to transfer the heat generated to the body more than a plastic one would.
My problem was that it stopped working after a week - no device would recognise that it had even been plugged in. Have sent it back for an account credit.

items 17: content: Bought 5. One failed within a few days with read errors and I was not able to reformat. On its way back to Sandisk under warranty. Sandisk return process is a bit cumbersome but seems to work. Sleek design is interesting, but actually the slick metal housing and lack of any real grip area makes removal difficult at times. Adding a lanyard helps although not supplied with drive . Definitely runs very hot during use. The metal housing makes it even worse. Heat extra power consumption so Im not sure if this will significantly impact battery life in portables. Housing shows signs of insertionremoval scratches with just a few days use. Runs fast and happy with performance. Time will tell if the heat impacts life any way.
