detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: I decided to buy a new laptop because although my old Carbon X 14" (Windows 10 non-upgradeable to Windows 11) 4th generation (2016) ThinkPad still works fine, the 14" screen is feeling too small to look at anymore and Windows 10 will reach its end of support on October 14, 2025.
I am very pleased with my new ThinkPad P16v Gen 2 model 21KX002RUS(AUS) laptop. It's build quality is excellent from how it opens and closes, the feel of the keyboard, and the specifications I was looking for (the brilliant (3840x2400) IPS 800nits anti-glare display, built-in ethernet port and thunderbolt ports, 6E Wi-Fi, etc.) were available with this new 2024 laptop. A major consideration in choosing this specific laptop is the built-in ethernet, high quality display AND that weight is not an issue. At about five pounds, it would not be suitable to lug around in a backpack. It's perfect for my needs and may be used for music production.
I purchased this laptop directly through Lenovo Canada which was a very positive experience.

detailedReviews 2: content: I have been using my Lenovo P16v Gen 2 for about a month now and it has been an amazing experience. I have never had such a powerful computer of my own. I will be using this computer for both work and school so I will have to be running multiple strong programs like Revit and AutoCad at the same time. I know this computer is strong enough and powerful enough to do just that. I also know I can move very fluidly from both my main workstation and on the go. I would highly recommend this computer for both the high graphics and also be able to easily run multiple high functioning programs at the same time. I would definitely be a recurring customer to Lenovo in the future.

detailedReviews 3: content: This QHD laptop is just amazing for getting the most out of Adobe's Lightroom and Photoshop. I bought it with 64GB of RAM, a 2TB SSD drive, an 8GB Nvidia RTX processor. I have it paired with a second QHD portable display, giving me the same two screen setup as I have on my main processing desktop. Awesome for traveling.

detailedReviews 6: content: This is the 9th laptop that I've bought from Lenovo over the past few years and I continue to be impressed. For our business, these machines are great. They are reliable, robust, and with the selection of good deal, we can always find one that suits our needs. This particular ThinkPad P16v is a tank - excellent performance/speed, nice big screen, integrated number pad - perfect for preparing quotes and managing our schedule.

detailedReviews 11: content: Great in almost every way. Good performance and good thermal management, with a great display.
Lack of ability to charge and dock the laptop via USB-C and inability to enable that in BIOS is the main oversight.
It's a strange design choice in 2024.

title: Great performance, but USB-C charging oversight
detailedReviews 12: content: I’m an Engineering major at college, and the ThinkPad P16v offers very good performance, although it is rather expensive I do believe that for those who need the extra power it is worth the money. My only complaint is that it claims that the laptop can do USB-C charging but I haven’t been able to get it to work, and when looking for help online I was getting mixed messages.

detailedReviews 25: content: Overall a solid build, sales and support is questionable though. It started with when I purchased the laptop. When going through the options. I believed that I found and purchased the best one that I could. The next day when looking through the information for the system I just purchased, I found that the docking station that the online sales recommended was actually not the best one for the system, in fact I would have had to settle for a lot slower of a connection if I wouldn't have found the information myself. I contacted them about it, all I was told was sorry about that. I can just order the newer one and send the other back in. That's fine, only I had to put both on my card until the first one came back, or I would have missed the sale price of the better docking station. Two days later, I hadn't even received my new laptop yet. only to see advertising from Lenovo that they had the newer version available with the I9 instead of the I7 that I got for a couple hundred dollars more. I never got an answer from sales about that one. about a week after I received the laptop I started having problems with the soundcard. Lenovo is very prompt getting back with calling during the hours that I set up with them. I have to give them props for that. What did suck was I could barely understand what the person was saying. Multiple times I had to ask him to repeat himself because I couldn't understand what he said. It was determined that I would have to send in the laptop for service. kind of sucks that I chose the sending in option for service. While waiting for the box to come via carrier to send it in. I was thinking it would be nice to upgrade my laptop with a second hard drive. I called into their company and asked if I purchased a second hard drive if while it was in for service, If I could pay to have the SSD put in while it was there. The sales rep said that would be no problem, so I purchased the SSD. The next day I got a shipped notification in my e-mail? I questioned it because nothing was supposed to be shipped to me. I called in and then was told that they couldn't put in the upgraded part, even though I specifically asked that from the other employee before purchasing the SSD. I also found out at that time that the upgraded service that I paid for would also not cover the new SSD that I purchased directly from Lenovo. So much for purchasing company direct. I have to now decide if I want to keep the SSD. I asked about my warranty and service and was told that it wouldn't void my warranty, but If I needed service, I might be asked to remove the SSD before they could help me solve other computer issues?!!? I was given a couple numbers I could call about it but was told that they probably couldn't do anything about that. What good is buying factory parts then?
