Though I'm not using this was it was possible to run newest Windows inside this through emulation. However , I have decided to keep this MacOs. Only bummer is that games like Mortal Kombat One on Steam do not support MacOs by default. Something to hope to see more developers support MacOs especially M1 on. It will come with charger though I did upgrade to faster charger. Overall, this is great laptop for many and did see options for iPhone and iPad integration mirroring etc. You do have option to upgrade storage ,size etc. For me though I care about portability so that's why stuck with 14 inch. Storage was 256 is aok for normal usage. However, if you are downloading big videogames they will take up lots of space. Most people do use some sort of cloud ie iCloud. The only con (and annoyance) for me is that the usb ports are all usb-C, so normal flash drives and older phone chargers won’t plug in without an adaptor. I use it for basic things, but it works perfectly, never gets hot because of how Apple has modified the way that they keep MacBooks cool these days.I bought the Midnight color, which I know a lot of reviews complain about fingerprints, but I don't have any issue with that. Everything has fingerprints on it. Just do a simple wipe, and they go away. There's a hint of blue which makes it elegant.It's very light to carry, and the charging cord is equivalent to a phone charger in the sense that it's just like a regular cord. Oh well. Just wish it came with the adapter instead of having to pay separately for it as USB-A is still very much used in our lives (like printers for us that need to do something with it). I should have bought an iPad Pro with the money spent for this money pit. At least I have apps from my older iPads that can be carried over.Apple is awful for computers now. The focus is on iPhones and iPads—stick to those. I hate the M-series chips for computers. Another thing that stinks is that new MacBooks are not user-upgradeable, eg., memory upgrades, and ssd's. RAM resides on the M-chip. SSD is soldered on to the main board. To me the new MacBooks are analogous to toasters.Then there's the unfair computer return policy at B&H—what used to be my go-to photo and audio store. Read the terms carefully prior to purchase—read it a few times. Be 100% sure that this is what you need. You will be stuck with it or be hit with a nosebleed inducing re-stocking charge, and no refund, maybe a store credit.It's what I call a cram-down. Less

I love the fanless design, which means the machine is absolutely silent at all times, while the thermal efficiency of the M1 chip allows it to remain amazingly cool. In use, this computer feels very fast, especially with apps optimized for Apple processors (as MacOS Big Sur is). Interestingly, Microsoft has been on board early with M1 optimization; the latest Office 365 version is smooth and fast on this machine. I also tried out MS Edge on my new laptop based on a recommendation from another user and have been so pleased with its speed and efficiency that it's my current default browser. The touch ID and Apple Pay capability is a welcome addition. The only cons I see are minor in my opinion. Because RAM is integrated into the M1 processor, post-purchase memory expansion is not possible; if you think you'll need 16 GB of memory that model can be had from the Apple Store. There has been criticism of the fact that this machine has only two ports, which is fair. For me that's not insurmountable; I simply use a USB-C hub to provide additional connectivity. I've read recently that some users have had certain hubs cause problems with their M1 Macs, which appears to be related to battery charging through these hubs. To be on the safe side I use a built-in port for charging and have had no issues. Reading through the relative handful of critical reviews, it looks to me like most (excluding actual defects, which happen with all products) are based on lack of understanding. For example, I saw a large number of reviews complaining that this machine "has NO USB PORTS!!!", which is patently false. In fact, its two ports are both USB, they just require a different connector. What these users are looking for is the old USB-A connectors, which this MacBook does not have; however, that's easily fixed by using a USB-A to USB-C converter cable, or with a USB-C hub. USB-A peripherals are gradually disappearing as well, in favor of the new connector. All things considered, I really love this machine. The $899 price (at the time I bought mine) was $100 less than I would have paid at the Apple Store, and I believe I can probably get $200 on eBay for my old MacBook Air (try that with a 7-year-old PC!) leaving me with a total outlay of $699. Considering that I'll almost certainly get 5 or more years use out of this model, I'm very happy with my purchase and would do it again. Less

I still need to clean my macbook screen regularly because fingerprints do show quite a bit, but nothing too difficult to do! I'm happy to report that this machine more than holds its own. Daily usage is quick and snappy. It's also proven very capable of running Lightroom Classic while connected to a NAS for photo master storage. I have found performance far better than a similarly spec'd ASUS laptop. In addition to being a capable workstation, the laptop is one of the lightest I've ever used. I look forward to using it while traveling. My only minor complaint is with the quality of the on-board speakers — they are not as rich or full as the MacBook Pro that I use for work, but I plan to use headphones when I need higher fidelity audio.

This is my new Apple Computer setup that I finally put on computer desk. I am really digging this computer compared to my iMac Pro computer which still is a good computer. However, it wasn't in stock and they were expecting a 3 - 4 week "delay" and I wasn't going to play that waiting game again. The Philips 279P had good reviews, but it isn't rank that high compared to other monitors. People have knock it for not being bright enough, but I really don't understand that as this monitor is plenty bright enough in my opinion. This is probably not a gaming monitor, but I really would not know as I'm using it for an Apple MBP and I don't game all that much. The monitor has an USB port that is capable of charging devices and I added a USB docking station that gives me four USB ports. Then I just plug a USB-C cable into my UPS to charge my iPad Pro every night. I haven’t had any problems with it. It’s thin but doesn’t feel cheap. There are a magnet for fingerprints so be ready to put a cover over it, clean it, or just not care. I personally clean it every so often. Mac products are probably my favorite for work and such. I use it for photography with Adobe and I haven’t had any issues with it. I also use it to compose music with Sibelius and I have a bunch of files but still a fair amount of room.
