detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: It amazes me, after trying higher end foundations that cost over $40, how well this holds up in comparison. When it comes to foundations I prefer to select a minimal/medium buildable type so that I can avoid the heavy and caky look. I have always used a matte as well worried that a satin would look oily with my skin type. So being able to try Elf’s Soft Glam Satin Foundation I was surprised by how much I like it. I am very pale with cool undertones and used 14 Fair Cool. It matched like it was a second skin. It leaves a dewy, hydrated look without being oily. I used this once with my fingers to blend and then also with the elf Ultimate Blending Brush. Both worked well with this foundation, but the bush did help to ensure an even, smooth coverage extremely quickly. As I’m extremely sensitive to some products, I always patch test first on my wrist. It blended in and for the next few hours it felt like I had nothing on. Just smooth hydrated skin with no irritation or redness. Adding to how well the product performed, I have to say that the application part of the bottle was so easy to use. I always hate wasting product because I didn’t need that extra 1/2 pump. It is very much like a pen, making it easy to apply without waste or mess. Now for the best part of it all: cost. This 1 oz buildable foundation only costs around $8 in stores. Elf really stepped up their game when it comes to this foundation.

title: Excellent comparison to higher-end foundations
detailedReviews 2: content: This is one of the best foundations I've purchased in a while. For reference, I'm 51 so my face isn't quite smooth anymore so I need a foundation that goes on without enhancing all kinds of texture, actually puts pigment onto the skin (the halo glow didn't work out for me because it was basically invisible once blended in with a little glow, that's pricey considering all the primers and highlighters I ALREADY have and use so I really expected SOME kind of coverage with the glow. I can't believe how viral it is cuz as a COMPLEXION product for $14, I'm VERY underwhelmed so I want SOME kind of pigment but not feel heavy, sticky, itchy, etc. I've used this 3 days in a row now and I really do love it and can't believe how much it feels like there's nothing on my face. That said, although it adds more coverage than halo glow, it still seems to also look like there's nothing on my face. It claims to be buildable which I noticed after 2 uses so today I tried building it up. It is a BEAUTIFUL foundation that feels like NOTHING on the skin but light coverage so of that's what you're looking for, id recommend it. I think I might need a shade darker to show a bit more so I'm gonna try that. I'm Italian, olive complexion and most my foundations are usually in the beige and golden range most the year and almost tan range in summer and I got the 25 light neutral - it might be TOO perfect a shade match that I'm feeling like you can't see anything. I'm debating between the next 2 up - 30 Med Warm and 31 medium neutral , maybe tan warm w summer coming and for now mix it w the light neutral. As light as it seems on me, I can't help but still love it and just can't figure why

title: Light coverage, feels like nothing on face
detailedReviews 3: content: I ordered this last week, and it came in the mail earlier in the week. I wore this today for the first time, and it didn't even feel like foundation. It felt more like a BB cream or a tinted moisturizer. The coverage was excellent, it didn't cake or settle into lines and wrinkles, and it's nice and light. I was using a mattifying foundation from one of your competitors, only it made my skin dry and yellow, that I looked like I had something wrong with me. This stuff made my skin look healthy and my skin just looked like skin. This doesn't feel like a foundation at all. You also get some skincare with the hibiscus complex, and my skin wasn't oily at all. The shade, light neutral was perfect for me. Please don't discontinue this because this is a great product!

detailedReviews 4: content: I was sick of spending a fortune on foundation/tinted serums from high end brands only to be disappointed. I saw someone online doing a review of this £8 foundation and raving about how good it was. I ordered some not expecting anything fantastic. But fantastic it is. I can’t believe how good this foundation makes my skin look and feel. And I have received sooo many compliments about my complexion since i started wearing it. It goes on smooth and even with buildable coverage. And it lasts ALL day without separating or becoming patchy. I’ve definitely ditched spending £40 for a disappointing finish and I’ve fully embraced this as my favourite daily wear. It just shows you that you don’t have to spend a fortune for a great product. I definitely recommend this foundation.

title: Amazing product, ditched expensive brands
detailedReviews 5: content: Elf is one of my favorite grocery store brands. They have affordable, high quality products and truly care for their customers. But I never found a perfect foundation from them until now! This Soft Glam Satin Foundation is an amazing foundation. The shade 21 Light Neutral was a perfect match. Plus they have a shade match guarantee. It’s a medium coverage foundation, but is buildable to full coverage. I love the added hibiscus because it makes it very hydrating on the skin. There was no heaviness, didnt clog my pores, and left this gorgeous satin finish. Because my skin is dry right now I use a lightweight hydrating moisturizer, and primer before putting it on. Your finish will depend on your prep I feel. It lasted all day mixed with my setting spray. I can’t believe it’s only $8!!! I will be continuing to use this foundation over my high end brands! Thank you Elf for another great product 💜

title: Hydrating, gorgeous satin finish, great price
detailedReviews 6: content: I am a big fan of the Flawless Satin Foundation and was very interested in seeing how Soft Glam compares. It is a wonderful and nice option if you prefer medium coverage. I am in my late 50s and have always had dry skin. Soft Glam did not settle in my fine lines or pores (which are nearly invisible, hence the dry skin), and it lasted for a good 6 hours. I don't feel like I'm wearing tons of makeup or look beyond my preference. This is absolutely going into my daily routine. Even after being in the humid weather all day. I don't notice any oxidation or breakouts either. For me, it's really the perfect foundation! Thank you, Elf, for thisI highly recommend Soft Glam if you have dry skin and you want a foundation with medium coverage.

detailedReviews 7: content: Wonderful coverage, consistency, wear, price, and color match!
This is my new FAVORITE foundation, and it costs $8. I've worn many "prestige brands" aka $40+ foundations. I live in Florida, have 12 hour shifts, in my mid-30s, so I kind of feel like I put this baby to the test. Still looked great after my shift, no oxidation. I am rarely happy with color matching. I'm fair, and frequently between cool and neutral. This neutral looked great. The satin finish looked natural and healthy. Like I had great skin! It was so easy to apply, I used my fingers. (Not recommended for everyone, but if you are in a pinch, quickly and lightly patting with you finger tips all over your face may work for you.)

title: New favorite, great wear and color match
detailedReviews 8: content: I tried this foundation without any expectations. I love it. The ONLY foundation that works and sits on my skin nicly is usually Estee Lauder and no other foundations. Well this one works. I have roscea and every single time i try a foundation out it dries up my skin and looks cakey. Ive used Estee Lauder for years and get sick of spending so much on one bottle. Well now i can stock up on foundation and pay a fraction of the price! It works very very similar to Estee for me. Goes on smoothly but i like full coverage so i have to do 2 layers. Thats ok. Very happy i found something cheaper finally but that i actually like!

title: Works similarly to expensive brands
detailedReviews 9: content: I had high hopes. I wanted to love it. It didn't look too bad on first application, but as the day wore on, I noticed that dry patches were becoming apparent...little lines were starting to become noticeable as well. Essentially, as it breaks down, it will cling to your flaws. I missed the whole "soft" part about it. I think this is one that requires a full skin prep routine before applying - not for those days when you want to look good quickly before running out. For a drugstore/mass market retail foundation, I'll stick with my L'Oreal TrueMatch. This one will be returned -- e.l.f. did not understand the assignment. ;-)

title: Clings to flaws, requires full prep
detailedReviews 10: content: I used the old foundation for years and was very saddened to see it discontinued. It left a great matte finish and matched my skin tone perfectly and didn’t feel like I had foundation on. This new stuff dried my skin out, left it flaky and itchy and red. By the end of the day the foundation cracked and I looked like clay. Not only was the product amazing the price was also a huge perk. Now I’m looking for a replacement to hopefully match the flawless satin and those are $30 or more. Very very disappointed in this change. I wish I could give no stars because I’m very dissatisfied
