detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: Coming from an S23 Ultra, I was blown away by how much can change in 2 years. The phone is a complete and premium package, as expected by the Ultra series which has formed a reputation as best in class over the years.
The screen has a whopping 2600 nits of brightness, which has really improved viewing whilst in direct sunlight and bright rooms. This pairs well with the 2nd generation of Corning's glare reducing coating which is simply phenomenal and greatly improves viewing angles, with the 1440p screen delivering great colours for any content you throw at it.
Now onto the star of the show, the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, a 3mn chip which delivers incredible performance and based on benchmarks even blows the last generation out of the water. This results in a buttery smooth experience when asking the phone to do anything, from simple tasks to heavy load gaming, it can do it all without breaking a sweat. Coming from the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip in my S23 Ultra, it's really been noticeable how much of an uplift in performance there is based on my heavy duty usage. Paired with a 40% larger vapour chamber over the last generation for added cooling, I did not run into a single issue where the phone got too hot. The battery life is also really good, lasting a day of heavy use, which is more than enough, though I was hoping for better as it didn't really outshine my S23 ultra battery performance. The charging is still 45w, and whilst it is a bit faster than my S23U, I was hoping for a bump up in charging speed with the technologies available.
A little disappointment for me was the removal of the Bluetooth functionality in the S Pen, which I found really useful in my S23 Ultra for taking photos, and whilst I understand it's likely that not many people made use of it, I don't see why it had to be removed, granted you can buy it separately if required.
The camera hardware performs exceptionally, especially the new 50mp ultra wide lens, but I really feel the OneUI 7 software-processing has made a massive difference in how good the photos look once you take them.
The new Gemini AI cross-app functionality with compounding tasks has worked really well for me, allowing me to do things such as ask when an event is and then subsequently add it to my calendar. The magic eraser AI tool is one of the best I've seen based off other new devices, and even personally I've seen a marked improvement over how it worked in the S23 Ultra.
All in all you really can't go wrong.

Formed of nothing but steel and glass, the display sits perfectly flush with the frame, protected by a pane of the highest quality glass available on a smartphone. Maintaining a similar format for a few years has allowed Samsung to perfect the overall feel on the phone, aided by rounder corners, reduced weight and an overall thinner device.
Booting the phone up and transferring my files through the Samsung Switch app demonstrated just how powerful the new Snapdragon Elite 8 processor is. A process that used to take several hours took less than 45 minutes to install my apps and settings.
The new 'One UI user interface feels smoother, more intuitive and consistent. The superb (and growing) list of AI functions feel like a natural part of the operating system, and I am increasingly relying on a number of AI tools to increase my productivity and improve my photos in ways I wouldn't have thought possible without professional photo-editing equipment. I'm particularly impressed with the writing assist functionality that helps me improve my emails and respond faster to messages. The 'Interpreter' function with live translations of calls or conversations is also helpful in a pinch but will be game changing as it gets faster.
In line with the general theme with this phone, the camera hardware and software is class leading, with superb ultra-wide, macro, standard and zoom options, the ability to capture any shot you can imagine with a few taps increasingly means the mirrorless camera stays at home. Don't get me wrong, it's not just the convenience, the quality of the images are reliable enough now that the difference in quality compared to a professional camera is difficult to discern in daylight shots, and night time stills are often even better.
Samsung's S25 evolution of their flagship phone is a masterclass in demonstrating how thousands of subtle refinements bring about a step change in day to day performance and overall enjoyment.

detailedReviews 3: content: Purchased this phone for about 2 weeks now, besides the obvious and kind of our of the blue that they removed the Bluetooth function from the s-pen, which was cool as a parlor trick to friends and family, the quality of the pictures has improved, let me take a step back, coming from the s24 ultra to the s25 ultra, beside people advising that there is no point to upgrade between these 2, I disagree as there are similarities and differences between the 2 generations.
The s25 ultra does have that different round corners now which to be honest does actually help with holding the device for longer periods without actually have carpel tunnel. The other improvement hardware wise is the feel of the s-pen, you may say there are no differences between the 24 vs 25 pen, however the feel is smoother and between the phone to the pen insertion is smoother and more durable. The screen is more durable against scratches and damages then the s24 ultra, the waterproofing has improved.
The back side of the phone is smoother and feels nice on your hands, above all the improved heat shield 40% addition to the spread is amazing I don't feel that heat in my hands from overusing as I did with the s24 ultra. The slight modification to the internal storage is obvious when using for a longer period of time and the ability to clean the memory with ease is a great addition. Now onto the software with UI 7, this is by far the best improvement Samsung made yet and I can see this only getting better with the years. Bloatware is gone, quick response time with the new chipset that is amazing. The screen resolution is visually noticeable and a game changer for techies. Overall would give this solid 9.5 out of 10 , would highly recommend this phone and wouldn't listen to those stating not to upgrade from s23 ultra and up, you will see the difference, don't let a simple Bluetooth downgrade of the s-pen decide your outcome because truthfully it was not the most used item. Yes , I am upset about removing that function or any downgrades on phones in general , however that's not a game changer for my deciding factor to upgrade phones.

detailedReviews 4: content: Coming from an S23 Ultra and an S21 Ultra before that, the aspect I loved the most about the S25 Ultra is the completely flat screen. I was never a fan and am happy now that I can properly get a tempered glass screen protector on. The display is top-notch, as you'd expect from the Ultras. I am loving the new flat, box-like form factor of the S25 Ultra. The phone is narrower, thinner, and considerably lighter when compared to the S23U and S21U. Minor, hard-to-notice improvements, such as moving the SIM tray pinhole away from the speaker hole, are appreciated. My days of incorrectly inserting the SIM ejection tool in the speaker hole instead of the SIM tray in my S23U & S21U and immediately feeling dread are behind me.
The other aspect that stood out for me was the UI. The One UI 7.0 on the S25 Ultra supported with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip's heft felt so much more fluid and smoother when compared to my previous Ultra. Perhaps it's the new phone or likely the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, combined with a cleaner and lighter UI, but the experience of using the apps on a day-to-day basis is buttery smooth, as you'd expect from a flagship, and in my opinion, improved from the previous Ultras I've owned.
The next aspect that has improved for me is the S25 Ultra's support for Qi wireless charging version 2.1.0. Combined with a MagSafe-compatible case, I am experiencing faster wireless charging rates when compared to the S23U & S21U. Speaking of charging, the USB-C port on my previous S23U was buggy, and I'd struggled to charge it with a cable despite cleaning it. No longer a problem with the S25 Ultra, and happy to experience good charging speeds with a cable plugged in again. I'd be looking to invest in 45W chargers to benefit from fast charging capabilities. The battery life itself appears to have noticeably improved, perhaps again due to the Snapdragon 8 Elite Chip and improved battery management via software.
The camera on the S25 Ultra is outstanding, as has been the case with the previous iterations. The lenses and sensors are excellent, able to capture a lot of detail and rich, vibrant colours. I was especially impressed with the 50MP ultra-wide’s nighttime performance. Colours and details in challenging situations looked especially good, and there was a lot of detail in macro shots.
I never used the S Pen all that much, so the lack of Bluetooth doesn't really bother me; however, I wish Samsung had retained the Bluetooth capability to use for occasions when I'd have wanted to use the S Pen as a camera trigger.
I've not explored the AI features yet; however, in initial trials, I am impressed by how Samsung has appeared to have integrated Galaxy AI, Bixby system-level AI actions, and Google’s Gemini generative AI capabilities for complex tasks. I believe the full power of the onboard AI may take time to reveal itself, but I can see myself using these capabilities in hopefully what should be a good few years of ownership.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the purchase. Would highly recommend to anybody—no reservations!

I was reading up on the specification of the new Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor that is used in the S25, and at the moment it is claiming to be the fastest and latest chip from the company Qualcomm, it’s built on a 3 nm process, claiming more power and more energy efficiency. This chip claims the CPU is 30% faster, the GPU is 37% faster, and NPU is 40% faster than the S24. (Speeds as stated by Samsung and Qualcomm).
The screen on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is stating Gorilla Armor 2, and it claims better durability, if dropped on rough or hard surfaces, it is engineered to better resist damage, such as breakage, more effectively than ever before.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra uses the same four cameras on the rear as the S24, 200 MP main, 10MP 3x zoom, 50 MP 5x zoom, the only difference is that the ultra-wide camera now has a 50 MP camera compared to a 12MP camera on the S24, and the same 12MP camera on the front.
So for myself I am pleased I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, I was going to upgrade to the S24 Ultra last year, both phones have the same Ram and Storgage, I am glad I waited for the 2025 model, I upgraded from a Samsung S22, and the improvements for me and the much improved ram and storage (shown below) are vast and me well worth the cost.

Initial impressions are that the Galaxy S25 Ultra is fast and fluid in every aspect, from gaming to watching films, to flicking through apps. Undoubtedly this is down to the new Snapdragon 8 Elite CPU, working well with the new Android 15 / UI 7.0.
There is a new 50Mp ultrawide lens too that is very welcome, just adding to the awesome range of possibilities with the S25 Ultra’s camera.
Noticeable software improvements mainly come from the new UI 7.0 (that comes preinstalled), and the improved feel that you quickly get used to, including the split system and app notifications – a nice touch. Hoping the new "Now Brief" available on the Home screen starts learning what I want to read, as it’s clearly early days right now.
Still working my way through what is an extensive list of AI capabilities, but I’m now confident that the hardware this phone delivers will enable many years of improvements in this area.
I had doubts in whether to upgrade this time. Knowing that this phone comes with seven years of update support, along with its brand new and impressive CPU, gave me the gamechanger I needed to go for this superb upgrade. Not disappointed one bit!

Unboxing the phone and holding it for the first time, it instantly feels like a premium, well built device. The titanium is nice to hold and the screen is just amazing, sharp and bright as you expect of a flagship device.
The setup process was a breeze, using the smart switch feature all my data, accounts and apps had been transferred from my old phone to the s25 ultra without any issues. it also brings over WIFI password etc so the process is seamless.
Performance is amazing, the phone is fast, no lag even while gaming, having multiple apps in the background you don't notice any showdown. The new processor is truly amazing.
The screen has multiple options including eye care that I turn on at night, dark mode and using the dynamic screen option the screen is ever so smooth scrolling through the web and browsing apps.
The camera is the star of the show, wide angle pictures come out stunning, the main camera is crystal clear even when using the zoom the image processing sharpens the picture and looks amazing.
The AI has matured and offers great functionality pricing genuinely useful features and not just gimmicks, the functionality to edit pictures, add in missing items, delete unwanted objects, edit videos and also the functionality to edit pictures taken on other phones is just incredible. The live translation is a game changer.
The now Bar/Brief function is a really useful tool, it tells you what is in your diary for the day, Weather update, your own personal assistant.
To summarise, I would highly recommend this phone, great features, great build and coming from Samsung you are sure the device will be supported for the years to come.

Video has a good enhancement for low light filming as well as the ability to easily suppress ambient sounds so as to focus only on the important sounds/ audio.
The phone sports a high definition screen with auto upscaling of low resolution videos so you benefit from a better image and watching experience. Colours are vivid and excellent for a good cross section of films from cartoons, nature documentaries and sci-fi films for what I was able to watch.
Audio is excellent with 4 speakers giving an immersive experience for films and surround sound audio.
In my experience of using the S25 Ultra thr phone remained cool and did not stutter when running multiple tasks and videos at the same time. The new Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy Processor really is working well and is also rated for high performance games.
Battery life also is excellent and in my couple of hours of heavy usage with video and audio playing, ai processing and video filming and editing, the battery life only went down by 8%.
Overall a great phone with increased battery life, enhanced processing power and more robust screen and casing.

detailedReviews 14: content: Having previously owned the S22 Ultra and currently using the S23 Ultra, I was excited about the S25's arrival, and I'm pleased to say the S25 Ultra is as good as I'd hoped.
As someone who uses their phone to take lots of photographs and of varied subjects, the upgraded main lens makes a noticeable difference, and whilst the 10x optical zoom has not carried over to the S25, I have not yet noticed its absence. The software processing also helps to pick out detail in the images and helps bring them to life (if you want it to).
The screen remains outstanding on the S25 Ultra, and the combination of it now being flat (rather than rounded) along with the anti-glare coating makes this the most impressive on a Samsung to date. Images I've taken and images I'm viewing/watching all have such life and depth to them, and the (now) flat screen makes the display seem even bigger than it is.
All apps respond instantly when called upon and there is not a hint of lag when doing any activity so far. Obviously, there is still much to explore with the phone in that regard but I have no doubts it will deal with whatever I throw at it.
The new AI features similarly will take some time to fully explore and incorporate into my daily life but the Briefing function is proving useful in helping me plan my day along with the routines I have set up. The on-board AI assistant is also increasingly useful in helping with queries and plans.
The final thing to say is that the S25 Ultra looks especially beautiful, and the titanium band around the sides really finishes off a very attractive phone. Despite its size it is also lighter than previous models but still feels as substantial as its predecessors.
The S25 Ultra is a purchase I'm very happy with.

The s25 ultra is the peak of Samsung in my opinion.
Fast, sleek, cool under load, a tad lighter personally this has never bothered me.
The ai features I didn't really use in the beginning but now I seem to use them more and more it's a great thing to have it's convenience on call.
I opted for the Jet black variant this year as I've never owned a online exclusive colour it was certainly worth it.
Yes I am a Samsung Knight but proper to Samsung they have done it again. Never fail to disappoint even with the Bluetooth missing from the S pen again it isn't a big deal.
The cameras on paper haven't really had a bump up this year but .. comparing photos from my s24 ultra to the 25 there is a difference the pictures look crisper, more saturation better low light situations the auto focus is a lot faster.
Samsung obviously have the data if people aren't using it then why keep it? Save the money then use innovation in a different area, but... Hopefully a stand alone s pen for those Bluetooth users would be ideal then everyone is happy right ?
I love the new rounded corners I welcome them being a 6.9 inch display it's better for the palm it doesn't dig in. I like both really the boxed off edges and the rounded corners but I also welcome above all the Flat display!! Samsung please do not revert back keep flat displays.
Easier to type, no accidental touches, easier to apply screen protectors, better for case comparability plus also less chance of smashing your phone screen as the screen protection around the display of the case runs all the way round. No dips in the middle creating a weak point.

detailedReviews 17: content: As a long term Samsung Galaxy user, there is a lot of familiarity, however the power and AI integration take capabilities to a new level. I've come from an S21+, so quite a step up in model.
On a practical level, the screen is great, the size (S25 Ultra) is fine even with a good case and it sits easily in my hand, whilst also fitting in my jeans pocket. Battery is fine for a full day's hard use, probably get you a day and a bit with lighter use. Charging is fast - definitely a lot faster than my old S21+. So if you do need to put some extra juice in, even a 10 or 15 blast will get you through an evening out or Teams call.
From a UI perspective, it's very familiar, with everything working quickly and slickly. I like the additional personalisation of the Home Screen and the lock screen widgets are more functional (and therefore useful) than before. There is also additional personalisation of the settings shortcuts, which I really like and I'm using frequently.
I still find the change in gestures for navigating around annoying (for about a year now this involves swiping from the edge of the screen as 'back'). It annoys me because it is easy to accidentally navigate 'back' rather than select something or swipe to next photo etc. I think this is slightly better on the new phone though, so they must have adjusted a few things.
Once beyond that minor annoyance, this phone does everything I need plus a whole load more. I'm still getting used to the camera, and don't think I've got it set up quite right yet, but I can see the potential for some amazing photos. The zoom is hugely impressive compared to my old S21+; the stabilisation makes it useable and very powerful.
However, stealing the show is the AI integration. Picture editing is very, very easy and the resulting photos are amazing. With my old phone it was possible to delete things, but there was often something left... Now it is near perfect every time! Even with complex backgrounds. The ability to add things to images quickly and easily is super cool... I'm sure it will be useful, although for now it is mainly my kids using it to make silly pictures.
I've signed up to the Google One AI subscription (free for 6 months!) and the integration and power is phenomenal. The translation features are excellent and very handy, but the image creation and Gemini advanced are superb. I'm already using them to assist with my work and the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra handles this beautifully.
I use Android Auto a lot and this remains pretty much exactly the same. Hopefully this will get some updates soon, as I'm sure more could be down with it.
The Now Bar and Brief are good ideas, but I'm not yet seeing them do much then giving me a handy preview of my diary a d the weather. My Watch already does this for me. Perhaps it will get better as it 'learns' more about me and my interests etc.
In general, I highly recommend the S25 Ultra and I think this will get even better as I understand more about how to use the AI features, optimise the camera, etc.

Screen: The screen feels a little bit sharper thanks to the new pro scalar engine and visibility is greatly improved outdoors due to the anti reflective coating which also means i can keep the brightness level a little lower saving battery
Battery: The battery life is absolutely amazing. This phone lasts me a full 24 hours with between 6-7 hours screen ontime. A huge updgrade from the s21 ultra that i had to charge twice daily.
Camera: The camera quality is one of the biggest improvements here. Photos in the day and night are more detailed. Plus the video recording quality @4k 60fps is so much better, on the s21 ultra Exynos model 4k 60fps was unusable indoors or if it wasn't a very bright lit enviroment. But with the s25 ultra this is totally not the case. Videos are sharp and detailed and in the daytime i'd even say it's better than the 16 pro max, at night however it does need some tuning. But overall amazing. I've attatched an image of a picture i took.
Gaming: Amazing performance in games like fornite @90fps max settings, pubg new state@90fps max settings etc.... THis phone provides great fps and stays surprisingly cool. One recomendation i have is to download thermal guardian and increase the thermal throttle threshold by 2 degrees so it doesn't thermal throttle as much. My only gripe here is that after 20 mins of gameplay, playing fornite @90fps the fps can tank quite sharply o 40-55fps for a minute or 2 and then fluctuate in and out of this fps range quite a lot as the phone cools down and then heats up again. If you're reading this Samsung, please allow us to increase the thermal throttle threshold by more than 2 degrees in thermal guardian so the phone can run hotter for longer, as the phone stays already cool as it is while gaming. There's alot more cooling headroom than you think.
Overall amazing phone. Highly recommend.

The speed of the phone is next level and it's new OS is really smart. It took a while to get used to the pull down for notifications and settings being split at the top of the screen but I now really like it.
The now brief is fun although I feel like it could have more added into it as at the moment it's just weather, sleep and daily score. I'd like to see more apps and personal details incorporated into it, but im sure that's all to come in future updates. The camera has been improved a lot since the S23 Ultra but it's less noticeable in guess, although I do take a LOT of photos and theyre all impeccable. Samsungs camera is the number one reason i have stuck with Samsung for all these years, and so please don't ever lose focus on that! However, im sad that the S-pen click feature has been removed as I took all of my selfie pictures out with friends using that, and as all my friends have iphones (BOOOO), whenever I would do that, they would always be amazed and it has become a running joke over the past couple of years. I would also like the AI to work across more apps, as I am using Gemini a lot and enjoying it, but it doesn't seem able to talk to any of my apps other than my calendar. I'd like to see the AI cross-app functionality improved and become smarter.
Overall, im very happy and will always stan Samsung. Love you x

The AI in general needs work, the features I have used so far with Gemini are ok, but it makes stuff up and struggles with simple answers. The image generator is very simple and lacks variety, I have been able to add fish to my fish tank. The feature to turn your photos into sketch's and the like are ok, but your probably better with professional editing software and doing the changes yourself.
The AI cannot yet summarize websites or webpages, my be the browser I am using. And it cannot see pictures on your device and interact with apps on request. It has potential but still needs to improve.
The AI interpreter really struggles, when my family are talking European Portuguese, it has no idea what they are saying with sentences. May pick up a few words but it is not very good in a casual setting. Have yet to try the translation over the phone.
The shape of the device has iPhone feels, rounded corners but overall, feels blocky in my hand. The split notifications (left) and settings (right) is something to get used to, frustrating right now for me.
I will be sticking with the device, the AI features I expect to improve overtime and the camera is fantastic with superb features.

The only things i didn't like were the removal of the bluetooth functionality of the pen and the camera bezels: although they give the phone a more than appreciable look, they don't seem very solid. Also I would have liked them to be arranged differently, so as not to interfere with some mag safe accessories. While the price is premium, the S25 Ultra packs in a suite of advanced features and performance, making it a compelling choice for power users.

I use my phone mainly for messaging, watching videos, taking pictures, and listening to music. The s25 ultra allows me to do this much better than my old phone.
The camera is noticeably improved over my s21, especially when taking pictures in low light and at zoom levels between the levels of the cameras. It's clear that some level of post processing is applied to the photos after taking. Using ai to make adjustments to pictures has almost flawless results - it does however leave a watermark on pictures.
The speakers are quite good on the s25, which was quite a nice surprise when playing videos without headphones.
The screen is a large improvement over my old phone - glare is almost eliminated even in direct sunlight and the screen is visible from all angles. Screen brightness more than adequate for most situations.
The phone itself seems sturdy and well built. There is no visible damage despite me not using a phone case for the last couple of weeks and carrying the phone in my pocket and dropping it onto a wooden floor indoors occasionally.
Moving my files and settings from my old phone to my new phone was made easy during the set up process and was completed in no more than an hour.
One thing I do wish for is a Bluetooth s pen - previous generations had this feature amd this would be useful for me as a remote camera shutter.
Overall I feel that the phone is good value for money compared to my previous phone and I look forward to using it for many years to come

The battery life of this phone is very sturdy. I have been using the phone for 16 hours per day and the battery has consistently been over 60%. I have never felt any fear that my phone would die on me when I was out for the whole day while being in a foreign country. This was me using Google maps to navigate, searching up nearby landmarks, restaurants, listening to music with a bluetooth device, and using the camera to take a lot of pictures. Never felt the need to conserve battery life for the day ahead. Having a nice long battery life is probably the most important aspect of a phone for anyone.
The most important feature for me is the camera. The pictures are clear and are impressive with the range of features to help you take the perfect shot. Taking pictures at night with low lighting was easy and was able to encapsulate the presence well. The videos I took were nice and the noise eraser was super useful, especially when taking a video in a tourist landmark and you want to suppress/erase those unnecessary chatter sounds.
Processing power makes the phone responsive, and handles any task seamlessly. Having multiple apps opened and switching between them never felt sluggish at all. The build quality is amazing. The titanium frame makes the phone premium and luxurious when holding it. A little detail but the rounded corners is an important touch as it made handling the phone comfortable, especially during prolonged. With sharp corners, I start to feel it digging into my palm after a while. The AMOLED screen is a standout feature with its crystal clear quality to bring when viewing photos or videos.
Even though I have been using this phone everyday for the past three weeks, I have still yet to fully utilise the range of AI features it has. So far, the AI has been impressive.
I am very pleased with this phone, and I highly recommend this phone to anyone looking for an upgrade. A sleek luxury phone that contains lots of impressive features.

It doesn't give you the chance to use the Google assistance instead of gemini. That is something that may be improved(chose between Google assistance and gemini).
Another disappointment with the Galaxy S25 Ultra is the removal of Air Actions, the Bluetooth-enabled S Pen gestures that were previously available on the S24 Ultra. These features allowed users to remotely control the camera for example, snapping a photo or switching between lenses with a simple press or gesture. In my opinion, eliminating these functions was a mistake. They may have been used by only a small group of people, but for those of us who relied on them, they added real convenience and a sense of innovation. The current S Pen feels like a step back in comparison.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra gets many things right and great performance, display, and camera. Still, there are a few things, like what I mentioned before, that I wish you would improve or restored. Hopefully future models improve on that.

detailedReviews 29: content: I love the design of the galaxy overall. I loved the boxy shape of the s24 ultra but this one is curved at the corners which is what I wanted. Also, whilst the s24 ultra was nicer to hold on the sides, due to the curves, it easily slipped from my hands; the flat sides of the S25 ultra solves that issue (although it is less comfortable to hold because of that, but I like it) I think for the camera rings I prefer the s24 ultra look but overall, especially in the titanium jet-black colour, it looks very, very nice.
The display is incredible. The slim bezels and the anti-reflective coating is absolutely underrated on a phone. Honestly, viewing outdoors is such a breeze. Yes, other smartphones may have higher peak brightness, but because of that matte like display, it doesn't need to achieve that high level of brightness, resulting in a phone that is less hot during sunny days, and less stress on the battery. Absolutely one of, if not the best display so far.
For the software, one UI 7 is a great addition. Love the customisation that's available especially the home up make over in good lock. The animations feel fluid, everything looks just that bit more modern and in line with the rest of the smartphones out in 2025. The AI features are great addition. I love the magic eraser, most likely the best on the market (honestly it's magic). The now brief is a bit bare bones at the moment, I hope it gets updated to support 3rd party apps. The now bar is very useful feature that I use quite regularly when listening to music or using a timer. The s-pen (RIP Bluetooth) whilst it still retains the main usability of the previous version, the lack of Bluetooth is a let down. That being said, I never used it but it was a nice to have feature. Overall, I think one UI 7 is one of thebest android skins out and probably the best when it comes to customisation.
Cameras, I think the videos have gotten a bigger improvement compared to the s24 ultra overall. That was the change I noticed the most. The pictures are I'd say marginally better (aside from the ultra wide, that is a good upgrade overall). I wish the 3x optical zoom will be upgraded to match that of the rest of the camera hardware and then I really do think it will be a good overall package. However, for next year, it will be critical for Samsung to showcase some big upgrades in hardware for the camera overall since others available in the market have not only caught up, but exceeded their quality.
Performance is absolutely fantastic. The Snapdragon 8 elite is a blisteringly fast chipset. Everything feels smooth and fluid. Apps load quicker than ever before, games play great without any stuttering or lag. And I'm able to play for longer without it getting too hot to the touch, just a tad warm so the cooling system is working great too.
Battery life I'd say is better than the S24 ultra but only a little bit. I'm getting between 6-8 hours screen on time depending on usage. The Snapdragon 8 elite does help in this regard since it is more efficient than previous generation. Although, strangely, I got 8 hours easily during the first 2 weeks of usage of the phone and then afterwords, it noticed it dimish to 6-ish. I can get 8 hours during light use but I was able to get that during my normal usage. Not sure what changed, maybe after it learned my usage pattern? Still it's alright, but again, this is one area Samsung needs to provide critical upgrade for the next series since everyone else has got 6000 or even more in some cases in a slimmer form factor.
I got a good deal from the s24 ultra to the s25 ultra which is why I upgraded. It's nice iteration but not a generational leap. From the s21 and before, it's a fantastic upgrade (maybe even the s22) but there is no need to upgrade from the s23 and s24 ultra. But if you want the latest and greatest that is available (probably for the rest of 2025) the s25 ultra is definitely the way to go. You won't regret this purchase.

I am very happy with the feel, build quality and design of the phone. It sits nicely in my hand, which is good considering I do not have big hands. I am not sure how it would handle an impact with the floor, and I do not wish to find out. For this reason, I have put a clear case on it, as I bought the titanium blue silver model, which I really like. You can just see the colour in certain light, which is a good effect.
I have enjoyed my previous phones with rounded edges around the screen. I was a little reluctant to change to a flat screen to be honest, but I have found that I really like the change. The picture is bright and vibrant, and holds much detail. The blacks are black, which looks great together with the amazing colours.
Although I cannot currently use my USB C headphones, as they do not currently seem to be compatible, the sound from the phones speakers sounds really good for a phone. Loud, crisp with a nice bit of bass. I know that some USB C headphones work, and hopefully the ones I have will be added to the compatible list soon. I am not too disappointed, as I realise that when you preorder a phone, there are going to be problems to begin with. My wireless Bluetooth headphones work and sound great, but I am not ready to give up my wired ones just yet.
One of the things which has massively changed from my old phone, is the amount of AI on it. I will probably not use most of it, but I like what I have seen in the apps I have used so far. I will probably have a good look at what is available and how I can benefit from it.
I have only used the camera a small amount, and once again, I am more than happy with the upgrade. The pictures on the screen are clearer, and more vibrant without using the remaster, which I occasionally used on my last phone. Again, I have not used all of the options that are available, but I will enjoy seeing what the new camera can do. So far, I am very happy with the pictures that I have taken, especially the ones in lower light environments.
The one place where I was surprised that there had not been an upgrade within 4 years, was the battery. It holds the charge better than my old phone, but it is the main place where I am a bit disappointed. I have to admit, that I have battered my new phone since I received it, but not a huge amount more than normal. I have not yet played games, watched downloaded videos, or streamed much video, apart from a small amount on YouTube.
Overall, I am extremely happy with the upgrade from the Galaxy S21 Ultra. I would recommend the upgrade from from this model and ones below, but I can comment on anything after that model. As I have previously said in my review - the only place where I am a bit disappointed is with my USB C headphones not currently being compatible, and the lack of a battery upgrade in 4 years. In my opinion though, if you are still wondering whether to make the upgrade, In my case, the enhanced performance of the Galaxy S25 Ultra was well worth it, thanks to the deal that I managed to get with my first purchase and various other offers through the app. I am looking forward to having this model for a few years, like I have enjoyed all my previous Samsung phones.

The design, if a little generic is just a case of phone design reaching a point of good ergonomics across the board. 3 weeks into ownership and it has grown on me, it feels refined and very well built. Like a premium smartphone should.
Display is phenomenal, a huge upgrade on the S23 ultra and anti glare is a must.
A little disappointed with the S pen downgrade due to the cost of the phone outright, I wouldnt expect features to be removed from a flagship experience.
Camera and video quality is superb in most light conditions with the odd exceptions here and there. To be expected.
The battery life has had a boost and I can now easily get through a day with 30-40% left on average. 2 days would've been nice as well as a minimum of 80w fast charging. Hopefully we see that in the next iterations as the competition has overtaken.
One UI 7 is probably the biggest change over my previous phone and it is easily in the best state it has ever been, fluid and intuitive with lots of customisability. AI features are far more advanced than other manufacturer and can be useful once you start remembering they exist.
Overall I'm very happy with my purchase and would highly recommend the S25 ultra to those looking to upgrade or migrate to a different OS

The removal of the bluetooth ‘air’ functions of the S pen don’t affect me at all as I never really used them and from memory I only tried the functions once and never used them again on any of my subsequent phones so wasn’t part of the small group that will unfortunately miss it.
I’ve waited patiently for the phone to arrive and I have to say I love the overall design with new flat sides and the slightly rounded corners as I was never really a fan of the sharp corners of my previous phone.
I can feel the reduction in the weight from my S23 ultra compared to this S25 Ultra, I also like the flat screen over the curved sides on my old phone.
I’ve used the sound removal tool when editing my first video, it worked really well and was simple to use, I can see this being my go to feature when editing my videos on my large TV via 'DEX' as it will definitely improve my videos.
I didn't know what Log video was but now I've made use of it I can really see the benefits of using it and the power you have when editing it on the phone/DEX or alternatively on my PC.
The few photos I have taken have less noise when zooming into details captured, when I did a side by side comparison of the pictures from both phones I could definitely see an improvement in the clarity of the fine details and this will get even better with future updates.
I’m not regretting upgrading to this phone and I'm continually finding new features/options each day and I expect to find more in the coming weeks.

There are SO many features, and I'm still coming to grips with how much functionality is at my fingertips. The addition/integration of Gemini AI is a welcome feature, as I have and do use it quite frequently. Even with all of the technology packed into this phone, it never feels overwhelming. It seems as if a great deal of consideration went into making sure that it is user-friendly, and I really appreciate that.
I also have to mention the physical build quality of the phone itself. It is VERY sturdy, as I've read that it is comprised of titanium, and the screen is apparently made of the toughest Gorilla Glass yet made. I was considering buying a case for it, as I've done with almost every other phone I've owned, but it's completely unnecessary. Overall, this is a wonderful device, and I am quite pleased with it.

I was thrilled to see that the preorder offer included earbuds. While they’re not the Pro version, they’re still a solid inclusion. The now bar is another highlight. I love how convenient it is to toggle apps like Spotify right from the bottom of the phone. However, the brief notifications are a bit questionable for me. I usually rely on widgets for this information, so I don’t find the brief notifications that useful.
One disappointment I’ve encountered is the removal of Bluetooth functionality from the S Pen. I used to rely on this feature, and not being able to use it now feels like a miss. I contacted Samsung, and they mentioned that it was removed due to low usage, but it’s still a letdown. Unfortunately, my old Bluetooth S Pen doesn’t fit with the new Ultra, and I’m not sure if Samsung will sell them separately. For the price of the Ultra, I expected all the features to be included. It feels like a small compromise that the S Pen lacks Bluetooth now, especially given the Ultra status of the phone.
The design this year is fantastic. Samsung has done a great job in reducing the weight, making the phone feel lighter and more comfortable in hand. The QHD display is absolutely stunning, offering vibrant visuals whether I’m gaming or watching movies. The battery life is also impressive, easily lasting me a full day without needing to charge.
One of the most fun aspects has been using AI features like Gemini. I’ve been able to play music, make phone calls, and even edit photos to remove unwanted items from the background. It’s a smooth, intuitive way to enhance the overall experience.
While there are some features I may not personally use—like the log mode in the camera—it’s hard to say if Samsung will remove it in future. Still, overall, this phone is a powerhouse with a great design, fantastic performance, and a display that truly stands out. The camera also takes stunning photos and videos. During Night time there is room from improvement.
While this year has seen a lot of focus on advancing AI features, the hardware updates feel a bit less significant. With the direction Samsung seems to be taking where AI features may become a paid service in the future I can’t help but feel like it might all become redundant. After investing so much in the Ultra, the idea of paying extra to keep AI features really doesn’t sit well with me. With all these features being rolled out to earlier generations questions if sufficient hardware upgrades were made this year or the lack of innovation for having the latest and greatest tech.

While this overclock of the processor is something that will help all the apps on the S25 Ultra, it probably comes into its own when playing games on the S25 Ultra. For very processor intensive games, such as Genshin Impact and Warzone Mobile, this overclocking will give you a few extra frames. This could also be the difference to maintaining a constant 60FPS with all the graphics quality options set to their maximum.
Add to that, DeX mode, which allows you to connect your S25 Ultra to a HDMI TV or computer monitor. Then you can effectively turn your S25 Ultra into a desktop gaming console by adding a compatible USB-C dock and a game controller, such as the Sony Dualsense or Xbox Series S/X controllers.
Lastly, some good news for anyone using their S25 Ultra in DeX mode. The original Samsung DeX Station is fully compatible with the S25 Ultra. So if you have one of these that you’ve been using with a previous DeX compatible Galaxy phone, you can still use it with the S25 Ultra.

The only thing I would really use it for was the ability to take photos from a distance but now that has been lost, luckily I have the seven watch to do that function.
Definitely hoping to a much better jump with Next Generation better cameras better batteries and more RAM. Now for ram Samsung should really be able to explain my most places in the world receive less Ram than Asia, this was a disappointment that we pay for less.
Now the AI features such as Audio Eraser Are definitely a cool addition the photo features in the previous generation were cool but definitely needed Improvement and we are now seeing that but they definitely still have some ways to go to make seamless photos modifications. Many times the afterimage is blurry when removing items but the new audio AI truly incredible.

Setting up was simple, again the AI facilities come in handy with my data, apps and accounts all transferred from my previous smartphone. The phone feels extremely quick with it's been Snapdragon processor, and scrolling through the apps and menus is very quick and has no lag whatsoever.
Battery life after 2 days has been very good, and Samsung as always, has built a phone which lasts 2 days at least and along with it's charging, offers a very respectable charge time!
AI - this phone is definitely promoting it's AI features and does them extremely well! From assisting with messaging and emails, to helping edit photos and enhancing those special memories, even to using bixy and getting to know your routines and habits, the AI is simply amazing, and again, works extremely well.
Overall the phone is definitely the best that Samsung have to offer and naturally the best of their series, with all the positives from previous models ultimately enhanced and streamlined to make a fantastic phone which is probably the best that Android have to offer!

Battery life is the best I've had on a phone, but I would've hoped for that, given that I'm still in the first few weeks of use.
What truly elevates the Galaxy S25 Ultra for me on a daily basis is the software. The range of functionality and customisation it can offer any user, even from the point of their first use of a Galaxy phone, is unmatched. That can include seemingly basic, long-standing additions to the interface like the edge panels, improving navigation around a device and adding so many easily accessible, genuinely useful functions. There's also the best implementation I've seen of multi-tasking on any mobile platform (using pop-up windows, picture-in-picture and split screen), better scroll capture screenshots and fully integrated clipboard use, as well as editing and stacking of app widgets.

It is a great phone all around but I will single out some key points.
1. Although this S25 Ultra phone looks a lot like the S24, S23, S22 Ultras, It is very different inside. The software upgrades and AI need about a week to get used to. If you are savvy you can use AI to control a lot of functions on the phone. My phone was running too hot with quick declining battery life and I got AI to fix it for me and it worked. I feel that is where AI really shines.
2. The lightness feels much better than you would think. The 25 Ultra is much lighter and slimmer that previous Ultra phones and you won't know it until you are carrying it in your slim fit jeans pockets. Big Plus!
3. Curved corners and flat sidewalls make for an easier phone to carry compared to the older curved side design on the previous Ultras.
4. Camera hardware is the same as before but operate quicker and take much much much better pictures and videos. There is also a ton, like a ton ton, of new features for modifying photos and videos. I'm two weeks in and need another two to three weeks to master them all.
5. Out the box battery life is not as great as I thought but I am still messing with the features so its getting a lot of use and I find AI can help fix battery and performance issues.
6. The S - Pen downgrade is not issue for me. I didn't use it much on my S22 Ultra and I already bought a coin-sized Bluetooth remote clicker for taking remote photos. I'm pretty sure Samsung or the grey-market will develop a Bluetooth version S-Pen down the road.
7. I got a couple Samsung cases (The Ultra Clear and Klinesuit) but didn't like how they offer minimal protection for the camera bumps and when placed on a table top the phone rocks side to side. But compared to older Ultras the S25 Ultra is easy to grip and carry due to the flat side walls and flat screen and back glass. Also after seeing the S25 survive several normal height drop test videos onto concrete without any damages or deep scuff marks I may go caseless with my S25 Ultra.

Whether I've been using a single app or have had many running in the background, it has successfully retained its smooth and responsive nature.
It has also handles my favourite games on high graphical settings without the phone becoming anything more than warm, which is partly thanks to being able to set a target frame-rate in the phone's settings - allowing me to select 60fps. The games run smoothly and look fantastic on the S25's screen, with the images being sharp and full of colour.
So far the battery life has been decent and within expectations and I'm really grateful for the option to only charge up to 80% so that the battery won't degrade anywhere near as quickly as my previous phones. However with heavy app usage and playing some games, you may need to charge it once a day, especially if you're capping the phone at 80% battery.
Pairing with various devices has been absolutely seamless and I especially love the synchronised nature of connecting with other Samsung products or apps.
The only weakness that I've experienced so far is that whilst the camera is in photo-mode, it seems to have difficulties with indoor scenes where there are lots of bright light sources or screens, however this is not an issue at all whilst in video-mode.
As for the newer AI aspects it seems better though.

detailedReviews 44: content: Upgraded to the Samsung S25 Ultra from the S23U. The first thing to say is the design of the phone is the best of all the Samsung Galaxy phones so far.
The design is sleek, with a contrasting Titanium frame. This phone reeks of 'Premium'. The display is crisp and smooth scrolling, vibrant colours and deep blacks.
The phone comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 chipset. This should help the 5000mAH battery as used in the S24 and S23 phones run more efficiently and eek out more charge but it's still early days for me to compare. I can say that the phone handles everything I can throw at it with no stuttering or slowdown.
The One UI 7.0 is a big improvement over the One UI 6.1 running on my old phone with new swipes and layouts that are intuitive and more user friendly whilst also providing for a smooth and customizable user experience.
The AI features are one of the big selling points and are very useful with AI camera enhancements to help optimise scenes with dedicated Portrait and Night modes benefiting from AI optimising lighting and background blur - your photos will never look so good.
There are also AI enhancements to help with the user experience, speech and translation and for the health based features.
The only negative I have from this phone over my old S23U is the loss of bluetooth from the S-Pen. I liked to use the old S-Pen as a remote shutter button for the camera and sadly Samsung has done away with this feature for the S25U - a slight misstep in an otherwise classy phone.

detailedReviews 45: content: I had the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and just thought the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra was just going to be an update to the name. However I was wrong. All the tweaks have made it noticeably better than it's predecessor. Firstly I was sceptical of the shift from the curved to flatter sides of the phone but this gives it a more premium look and feel and doesn't compromise the grip or feel of the phone in hand.
The screen doesn't suffer from glare like the S24 either, that was one of my biggest annoyances with the S24. It's also very clear and colours seem more natural. The fingerprint scanner seems more responsive, as does the screen as a whole to be honest. The keyboard is more accurate and I'm not getting as many errors whilst typing.
I've not used the cameras much but the photos I've taken so far were in dull conditions, the joys of Northern Hemisphere winters!, and they captured the images with a fast enough shutter speed to not cause any motion blur, one was of a building while I was a passenger in a car.
The AI...this is one of those things that's difficult to review. On one hand if you notice it interrupting you all the time it's frustrating, if you don't notice it then you don't know if it is doing anything. The AI is barely noticeable but has information that you might want when you go to use the S25, like the briefing. It's handy but it's obviously something that will improve over time.
Should you upgrade from the S24 only you will be able to answer that. I did and prefer it, plus with the trade-in and offers it was worth it for me. I'd definitely recommend the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra the tweaks have made it that much better.

I previously had the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and I've loved every minute of ownership, I upgraded to the S25 Ultra because it was available, and I am 100% glad I upgraded to the newer device.
The phone is noticeably faster than my previous S24 Ultra when loading games and smoother gameplay too, everything else loads and runs snappy and fast.
I'm still learning to use Google Gemini and so far everything I have thrown at it has been a success. No glitches or bugs as far as I can tell which is a bonus.
The hardware feels like a minor upgrade from last year's flagship but is noticeable when compared side-by-side with the S24 Ultra, which is another reason to consider the upgrade if anyone is thinking about changing phones.
Battery life is excellent, I easily get a full day of use with plenty left in the tank and the cameras are top notch as all Samsung phones are these days.
The screen and audio are sublime, the screen does look and feel nicer to touch than my S24 Ultra but that could be because it's brand new. The camera AI enhancements are a nice bonus but not something I will use as I don't do much photography.
My only criticism is the S25 Ultra has rounded edges. I prefer the look and feel of the rectangular S24 Ultra but that is simply a personal preference. I'm sure the rounded edges will grow on me over time.
In conclusion, I am totally happy with the upgrade and will not be looking back. Fingers crossed for another year of flawless usage.

It's a lot weightier than my previous phone and that's to be expected when it's packed with more features. The differences between the Android versions, One UI and the device itself has been a significant improvement. Still experimenting with the AI functions as I get the hang of it.
I went for the Jet Black as it suits my Dark Mode scheme. The 6.9‑inch display with slimmer bezels and rounded corners is great for my one‑handed usability. It's good to know it has Gorilla Glass Armor 2 though I still prefer extra layers of protection. This is my first Snapdragon Galaxy which hasn't been available before in Australia so far the performance has been terrific especially with multitasking as I treat it like a desktop PC. I'm liking the battery capacity and expect a better lifetime than my previous model with the improved efficiency from the newer chipset and enhanced thermal management and with my Samsung magnetic case I can start using the latest Qi2 wireless charging. The biggest improvement is the camera and I can now take 200 megapixel shot, ultra wide captures and a choice of telephoto lenses. For me the S25 Ultra is a revolutionary, modern powerhouse with significant upgrades in camera technology, AI integration, performance, and display quality that I will enjoy for years.

detailedReviews 50: content: I was happy with my S23 Ultra but thought it was a good time to upgrade and the trade in price was good for the S23 Ultra. That is a good benefit of the Samsung S Ultra series with them holding on well to their values.
The first thing I noticed with the S25 Ultra was how much better it felt in the hand. Although the S23 spent pretty much its entire life in a case, on the few occasions I took it out it felt slippery like a bar of soap and likely to be dropped at any time. That's not the case here with the S25 Ultra which feels solid and easy to grip.
I found the battery remained good on the S23 Ultra. I always charge to 80% to preserve its life and found that it usually still lasted the day with moderate use. I initially found that the S25 Ultra was beginning to run out by the end of the day charging to 80%. However after a couple of weeks use this settled down so I expect it was just using more as it was setting up and using things for the first time. The S25 Ultra actually has a battery setting (AI generated obviously) which stops the battery fully charging overnight but then gets to near 100% by the time you wake up. This preserves the battery as constantly topping up to 100% can degrade the battery. As i say I haven't really used that as only charging to 80% still lasts the day or if its not going to make it then I just stick it on a wireless charger for a bit.
AI wise there is an AI brief which I think will be useful but there isn't much in it at the moment. At different times of the day it will give information which it thinks is relevant at that time. For instance first thing in the morning it will automatically tell me how I slept and it worked out I always checked the news first thing so asked me if I wanted to auto open that when I turned my phone on first thing. Hopefully it will come up with more suggestions as time goes on. I also wish it came in a bigger widget form so I didn't have to actually open it.
The camera is good as always. I used the AI feature to edit somebody out of a photo I took as they walked in front of me while I was photographing my daughter. It did a great job of getting rid of them.
Another good AI feature is summarising articles. Sometimes you don't want to read a whole article for find something out like when a game starts but the AI can provide a small summary instead which often contains when you need.
It is a shame the S Pen has been downgraded with no Bluetooth. I probably contributed to that by not using it much but when I did it was very useful so its a shame.
All in all a good upgrade. All phones now do tend to be evolution rather than revolution but that's not a bad thing when the design is so good. It also means its effortless to upgrade. Samsung makes this exceptionally easy particularly when you still have your own phone and it just transfers over automatically.

The camera processing needs some adjustments, but usually Samsung will bring an update that resolves that.
However, it's is unacceptable that in 2025 all cameras are not all 8K.
3x zoom should have been updated this year along the ultra wide, as the quality is not good, and it's a disrespectful strategy to its costumers not to bring the best tech out when they have it already available. This makes the filming experience a bad one, since we cannot use and move through all cameras.
Also, the main camera could make use of a 1"inch sensor, and the selfie cam should be 8K too.
Additionally, there's already denser battery tech that would allow for a bigger battery, and much higher charging rates which would allow for much quicker charging.
Removing bluetooth functionality from the SPen was not cool.
Finally, a lot of the AI features which basically where all the hype about this phone, apparently will be paid from next year... Unacceptable, when we buy a device we don't want to pay subscriptions.
Consequently, it is a great phone but not yet the Ultra phone it could have been.

Their processors continue to deliver fast efficiency, able to work overtime to meet business and creative needs. The AI functionality is yet to be fully discovered by myself but so far, the assistant is extremely useful when making your bookings or doing simple tasks.
One of my favourite features still remains to be the AI photo editor. Enhancing your photos to their fullest potential, even slightly blurred ones. It enhances the contrast and focus of your image and allows for you to easily edit out photo bombers or things you simply dont want in your selfies or backgrounds.
I love taking my device on hikes and the S ranges camera allows for you to capture even the smallest of creatures or plant detail allowing you to share your adventures with your friends as if they were there themselves.
Personally I would recommend picking up a watch to experience the device to its fullest and its ability to integrate into your everyday life.
The price is a bit of a daunting number however, I do believe that you are reinvesting into the next features or AI abilities for your next device. As promised, Samsung continues to deliver new features and support to their devices allowing you to keep up to date with their new releases. The phones durability has kept up with my rocky adventures and continues to deliver on that promise. A worthy investment.

Sure the seamless apps, and the sound editor were clever, but frankly not astonishing. I don't even use the now brief. Probably the best feature is the integrated AI capabilities.
However, the downgrades far outweigh the upgrades. For the price of this phone, I feel like I was a bit ripped off. The whole point of buying a flagship is the extras you get, not what you lose from the model you just traded in. The loss of the Bluetooth pen was unacceptable. Then they took away the favorite part of the camera, the 100x optical zoom. After so many years of the beveled edge glass, this flat screen now feels "chunky" in my hand, and does not slide into my jeans hip pocket as nice. Even though they claim it's lighter, it actually feels heavier. The performance may be slightly better, but it's realy barely noticeable.
Overall, I'm disappointed with this year's new phone from Samsung. The only reason I am keeping it is because the battery on my older model was not lasting a full day anymore without needing a recharge, and was just too inconvenient. Samsung did offer a good price for the trade in, and that made it palletable. What I realized is that my Note 20, and S22 Ultra were actually pretty good phones. Had the cost of replacing the battery been so prohibitive, I'd still be using them and skipped this year.

However, I decided to go for it and after using for a few days, I'm glad I did.
Starting with the design changes, they do seem to be very minor but with the phone in hand, it does feel different to the S24 Ultra. The small reduction in weight has made a difference as the weight distribution seems to have changed making it feel much better. I actually like the curved corners and flat edges and personally feel this makes the phone even more premium than before, though this is personal preference as design is subjective.
The screen also seems better but this may just be a placebo effect as I'm not aware of any hardware changes verus the previous model.
I've not had too much time yet to understand what improvements have been made to photography, battery etc. but would guess these would be minor, though initial thoughts are that the S25 Ultra defnitely runs coooler than the S24 Ultra.
I am disppaointed that the S-Pen has lost it's bluetooth functionality as I was one of the users who enjoyed using it to take photos remotely. I hope Samsung will revert this decision or even bring out a bluetooth S25 Ultra S-Pen and give customers the option to trade in.
Overall, I am pleasantly suprised on the improvements however minor some are and happy to have upgraded.

I can ask Gemini a quick summary on a YouTube video on computer science, summarize it as a note, and just like that, in a few seconds I have review material for my upcoming test. Audio Eraser is also especially useful for me. I take a journalism class, which requires filming, and while other students have to rely on a computer with editing software to erase wind or background noise, I can just pull out my S25 Ultra and do what would originally take several minutes in a matter of seconds. This also. I also use the S25 Ultra to film in that class, and my classmates only want to use it now. It is legitimately better than our professional camera equipment. I could definitely do an entire film package with my phone if I wanted to. I do all of this while the S25 Ultra's battery lasts forever. I film, do some decent gaming, scroll on social media, and I still have 30% or more by the time I go to bed! You would have to purposefully try to drain the battery on this phone for it to run out! Even if it does run out for whatever reason, you're backed up with fast charging, so there's nothing to worry about battery-wise. Lastly, the performance on the S25 Ultra is unparalleled, period. When I open apps, it feels like they were loaded in the RAM! This phone doesn't keep me waiting more than 5 seconds, no matter what I do! A true beauty to have in your hands.

The design is back to a rounded edges rather than square and angular. Im so glad that the frame is back to flat rather than rounded, this gave the s25 a much clearer, bigger and nearly bezel screen. The titanium material made the phone look so luxurious though its not a wow factor for me, it still does the job of making this phone standout in terms of its look.
Display wise is smoother than ever though nothing much changed on the brightness and nits compared to previous model, it is still fast and responsive. Thanks to the new chipset
The new chipset is the heart of this phone. The snapdragon 8 elite in this s25 ultra gave the phone so much boost in terms of performance, by far the fastest I've ever seen in a phone.
Though the camera has not much changed apart from the new 50mp ultra wide lens the processing from this new phone is so much better than its predecessor. the shots are more clearer and detailed. and when zoomed in, very less noise and minimal soft details can be seen. The night shots are great, minimal grains and barely noticeable. selfie shots are excellent, nice skin tones and very good detail.
Can shoot 8k in video. tested in 4k@30fps, details are amazing, colours are on point, dynamic range are wide.
not to forget AI features can made all your photo and videos even more amazing.
Though I would ask for more hardware changes like better battery, much newer design that would make me say "wow", new camera layout.
Having Samsung all thought out my home from white goods, my 8k qled tv and my q990d soundbar, samsung is a no brainer for me.
Im happy I have this phone. With a fast chipset, 7 years software updates, great camera and smooth performance. my full thumbs up with samsung.

Wireless earbuds Sound: I have used the same earbuds (galaxy buds 2 pro) and unfortunately the samsung s25ultra lacks the punch and warmness of the sound. Have have tried the same EQ settings and also tried to change them but it's not close to S23ultra. not sure if it's due to the software ( the android version) but sound coming from S23ultra was way batter.
Screen: S23ultra screen and s25 ultra screen is almost the same if not better, in fact the white is proper white in s23 ultra whereas in s25 ultra it gives a Grey shade not pure white.
Battery life: at the moment the battery seems better in s25 ultra but only time will tell.
SPen: The quality of the Spen is bad seems very light also the response when writing on screen is way batter in s23ultra pen. I have used s23 ultras pen on s25ultra and response and feel was much much batter. plus there is no Bluetooth in s25ultra pen so you can use it to take the photos through the spen.
Camera: Its is almost the same not much improvement.
Overall, I am quite disappointed with my purchase. Samsung only worked on the AI stuff but this is just the software which will come to older models as well.

Everything is ultra-crisp, whether it’s text, images, or video. Scrolling is silky smooth, and the brightness makes outdoor use effortless. It makes you really appreciate how far phone screens have come.
Sound: Good Enough, but Not My Go-To
The speakers are solid—clear, punchy, and more than fine for casually listening to music straight from the phone,. That said, I don’t tend to blast music from my phone much anyway, since I usually use headphones for music or movies. But for what it is, it is more than capable.
Camera: Very Impressive
The camera is is very impressive. The detail in videos is incredible—you can zoom in while recording and still get sharp, detailed footage, which is something I’ve never seen done this well. The zoom lens is also surprisingly good, producing really crisp, high-quality shots even at a distance.
Interactive Themes: A Fun Touch
One of the more quirky but fun features is the interactive AI themes. The phone tweaks the photo set as your wallpaper to match the time of day and the weather, which is a small but clever touch. It’s these little details that make the experience feel fresh and fun.
S Pen: A Great Addition
I wasn’t sure how much I’d use the S Pen, but I'm really appreciating having it available. The handwriting recognition is spot on—even with my less-than-perfect scribbles, it converts everything smoothly. Battery Life: No Real Upgrade Yet
I was expecting a big battery life improvement, but I haven’t seen it yet. My Fold 2 was lasting just short of two days, and the S25 Ultra is on par with that—or maybe not quite lasting as long. That said, it might need some time to adjust to my usage before I can properly judge. Right now, I’d say it’s good, but not a leap forward.
Morning & Evening Brief: already useful, and only going to get better
A feature I wasn’t expecting to like so much is the Morning and Evening Brief. But it’s already proving useful, and I know it’s only going to get better as I add more data into the phone for it to pull from. The potential for customization here is really exciting—I can see this becoming an essential part of my daily routine.
Final Thoughts...
Coming from the Fold 2, I wasn’t sure if I’d miss the big, foldable screen, and it turns out I do—but that being said, the S25's stunning display, top-tier camera, the added functionality of the S Pen, and smart features like the Morning and Evening Brief, definitely make up for that. Battery life hasn’t wowed me yet, but overall, it’s a powerhouse of a phone that feels polished, refined, and packed with tech that actually enhances day-to-day use, and I hope will make me more productive and easier for me to keep on top of life!

The experience was inconsistent, especially when it came to the battery life. Even after I followed all the battery guidelines and turned off things in the settings, the battery would still drain unnaturally fast even with light use. It gave me constant anxiety. With iPhones, the battery just lasts and lets me forget it.
As for the apps and UI, it’s true what many have said: Samsung’s software just doesn’t match the polish of iOS. It felt fragmented, clunky, and unrefined. Small things like app animations, message delivery delays, or inconsistent design choices constantly reminded me that I wasn’t on iOS. And while most people may not notice or care, to me, the user experience is everything.
The camera had its moments. But despite the hype around the 100x zoom, it was nearly useless in real-life scenarios like concerts or dim lighting, where the iPhone’s much lower zoom still produced clearer, more usable photos.
Still, Samsung has great things: best display, customization, and freedom of Android.
If you’re thinking of switching from iPhone, I really recommend giving it at least two full weeks.

In addition, I like how easy it is for me to utilise Samsung Pay for purchases. There was no need for me to take out my wallet for my debit card. Instead, all I had to do was to hold my phone right on top of the store's NFC-enabled terminal machine, and I'm good to go!
For Samsung's One UI, I like how there are a lot of customisations that are widely available. For example, I love the widgets feature, which I use for a quick glance at certain things such as the current weather, the current time and the calendar. Additionally, I love using the Edge Panel, which allows me to have quick access to my essential applications from the side of the screen.
The battery life the camera quality are both beyond expectations.
The stylus that comes with the phone is really nice. It is definitely helpful in certain situations such as taking notes and writing Chinese characters in the Chinese handwriting keyboard input.
Finally, I like how Samsung has incorporated 12 GB of memory in the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but I wish Samsung was more inclusive with their 16 GB memory models being only available in South Korea, Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Overall, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is a great phone not only for AI, but also for performance, personalisation, mobility and ease-of-use.

I use the spelling and grammar correction feature regularly and when I need to communicate with my French wedding planner, the text translator feature worked amazingly in WhatsApp, Google Messages, emails, all of the things. These AI tools now work even better and more accurately on S25U Ultra than on my previous S24. The number of AI tools is incredible and I enjoy using them for various things in various ways. They are one of those things where if you have the imagination for it, you can find all kinds of ways of accomplishing tasks on the phone.
I also really like how Galaxy AI is used in the settings search feature where I can describe what I want to do, or an option I am trying to find, and it finds any options that match what I'm after.
A physical design feature that I wanted for the S25U Ultra was rounded corners. Not because it hurt my hand to hold it for long periods, although that was occasionally a thing I experienced, but because I have had those previous sharp corners wear holes in my pants pockets overtime from all the walking I do. It was annoying. Now that's not an issue!

I have also noted that the speakers sound better and the antireflective screen layer makes the phone easier to read outdoors. The fingerprint sensor is also more accurate.
Then there is the software. The new Snapdragon Elite chip has really made a difference here. The device is very reponsive and I have not seen it lag as of yet and that's despite filling the memory to almost full capacity with apps etc.
Do I think it was a worthy upgrade ?
I am a tech enthusiast and do enjoy the newest tech. I managed to get the device at a good price with several pre-order discounts, so overall I am happy. I do get the feeling that every year the upgrades are diminishing and the device is almost identical to what I had before. I used to upgrade my phones on a 6-12 month basis, now after 24 months I no longer feel the need to do so as so little is changing.
I was expecting a bit more from Samsung...
- The camera modules have stayed unchanged from S23 Ultra except from the telephoto zoom - I did prefer the 10x on my previous device. There are now several Chinese devices with far superior camera technology and 1 inch sensors.
- There are now silicon carbon batteries and solid state batteries available which offer far superior performance to Li-Po
- Only 12MP on selfie camera needs an upgrade.
- Personally I never used the bluetooth on S-Pen but castrating such an expensive device from features is a big no no

When choosing a phone to buy I also took into consideration the design which made me ultimately pick this phone, it's width is the perfect length, not too wide as the s24 which is harder to use with one hand and not as slim and the flip 6 with was a bit too slim for my liking. The size of this phone is perfect. Same as the others, I also like the camera placements. They have a mature and calm feel to it, nothing too flashily.
One feature of the S25 that I particularly love is the interpreter, as someone who works in a place with a lot of diverse people, communicating has never been easier, The feature also being in the panel contributes to making it easier.

I find that the current design is the best iteration since the S22 Ultra was launched. I love the anti-reflective flat display, the flat edges and the squared off shape, with the slightly curved corners. I find it easy to hold and it doesn't slip out of my hand. I opted for the white colour, which was a bit of a gamble, but it looks stunning in reality, with a discreet shimmer to it, almost like a mother of pearl finish.
The cameras are a level above the S22 Ultra's and the software with the OneUI 7 interface looks quite fresh compared to the previous UI and the animations are far better, quick and less boring.
The battery life has been very good in the 6 days I've had the phone, given that I use 2 SIM cards, out of which one is in roaming and I hope it'll continue to stay like that over time, without much degradation. Charging the battery can also be done with a magsafe wireless charger and it is able to charge fast also, if a powerful charging brick is used (25W and above) along with a compatible case.
The AI features are there, easy to access, but I've only played around with the photo editor so far and it's been fast and good. I'm keen to explore more of the AI capabilities the phone has to offer.
Overall a very good experience, exceeding my expectations. The S25 Ultra is an example of not judging a book by its cover, as the phone's best qualities are in the details.

First thing to mention is, this phone is super smooth while moving through different apps, scrolling or doing some heavy task. Samsung included several AI features like now bar and now brief which provides important weather update, energy score and other important updates through the day. You can customize your favourate games, teams etc to gate automatic updates. Other AI features include writing assist, note assist, transcript assist, drawing assist etc.
Generative AI features are enhanced too. Due tow powerful processor, lots of AI features can run without internet connection. But with internet connection its awesome. Generative edit, sketch to image, audio eraser etc are very powerful and useful features.
The camera systems are enhanced too. All the camera modes are enhanced due to prowerful processing. Expert Raw gives you more control how you want the pictures. Lens transitions are much smooth. Video recording shows enhancement too.
One outstanding feature is dedicated voicemail app for unlocked phone. That was a long time demand from me and yes it is here.
There are several enhancement in other key areas. The notification panel is redesigned and it is visually very pleasing.
Another feature to mention is seamless pixel like update, but I like it better than pixel.
Overall it is awesome.

The flat screen is much more practical for using the S pen. Curved corners look a lot better better and are more ergonomic. The new glass and titanium frame feel great. Whilst it's a very big phone it's actually slightly smaller & lighter than the S23 or S24 Ultra, so easier to handle but the screen is a a bit bigger. Less glare on the screen too and it can get ridiculously bright. I liked the curved back of the S23U but the S25U feels so nice in the hand. Also worth mentioning the improvement in the fingerprint scanner. Very fast and harder to miss than my S23U.
My S23U lasted very well so I expect the S25U to be even better thanks to the upgraded glass, frame & camera lense surrounds.
Most of the colours for the Ultra are pretty bland. I like the Titanium Grey but it's a shame the more vibrant colours from the 25 & S25+ aren't available, especially the blue.
Software wise there's lots of extra features. Now brief is & handy and being able to isolate and remove background noises from video is a seriously useful feature! Cameras are brilliant as always & AI editing festures are helpful. Photo included taken from my S25 with people removed using the stylus to precisely select & AI to delete & fill in.

In a day and age where many folks live their lives online, the camera on any phone I believe is probably the biggest selling point, and when comparing the camera on my S25 ultra to the biggest competitor, the winner is clear every single time . I've always seen myself as a bit of a photographer and all I really want is good colour, good depth and the flexibility to do what I want with my photos. I get exactly that from this phone and that's without even touching the AI elements. Even if you're not wanting to get creative and go into the manual settings, for a base user with base settings it's hard to take a bad photo on this thing.
The battery life is phenomenal. Naturally the battery on your phone will deplete over time, at the moment with commuting to work, watching shows on the train to and from, listening to music throughout the day and scrolling through the usual social medias, I usually get about 2 days out of it.

The latest one ui 7 software is very smooth. Here are a few ideas for your next software upgrade.
1.Contact cards need redesigned so it shows the full screen picture not blurred when the phone call goes through. Also when I call someone and they answer the phone it does a little animation and blurs the whole picture.The animation is neat and should stay there but the blurred contact photo needs fixed so it stays clear.
2. It would be nice if Samsung built a Book app for reading epubs,PDF and word Docs etc.
Overall Samsung you've been doing a great job.Just keep your features updates like one ui8 and one ui 9 on time or ahead of schedule on release date.

And I almost forgot to mention Gemini and Galaxy AI. I received a six-month trial of Gemini, and I’ve quickly grown comfortable using it. It feels like a natural extension of the phone—it’s smooth, intuitive, and genuinely helpful.
I’m no tech expert, but I can say that this phone is fast, performs beautifully, and takes incredible photos.

detailedReviews 78: content: I recently decided to upgrade my S23 Ultra to the S25 Ultra, having decided to skip last year's model. Whilst I've found the S25U to be a great phone so far, it isn't as much of a large leap forward as it is a couple of steps in the direction of the future.
First it must be said that the S25 Ultra is an excellent phone. It is fast, powerful and excellently built. The screen is the best I've ever viewed, making viewing photos and videos an absolute joy. The new One UI 7 has been ever so slightly streamlined further and the integration of Gemini as the standard assistant shows promise, however it is clearly still early days and my interactions with the AI often end in frustration after receiving a message that it is only a language model and can't do what I'm asking yet.
It can perform some simple tasks and I've tried out a couple of the features that were mentioned in all the launch media, but it does feel a little like it's limited to a few neat tricks and that it is yet to develop into something truly life changing. I'm holding out hope that there will be many further developments during it's 7 year software support cycle, and that the best is certain to come in the future, whilst also hoping that any upcoming game changing features do not get locked away behind a pay wall. Since buying the phone, I've learned that it is Samsung's plan to only offer the AI features free until the end of 2025. In a world that has gone subscription crazy where it feels we're not far away from having to subscribe to the air that we breath, I'm more than slightly concerned that the phone will do little more than a basic A series phone once the subscription I'm unlikely to take up begins.
On a more positive note, the cameras are decent once again. The welcome addition of a 50mp ultra wide lens means fantastic quality up close. The macro mode has also seen improvement and my initial test are promising. The AI photo editor has to be one of the most impressive new features, removing unwanted elements from your picture with astonishing results most of the time.
The picture isn't all rosy though on the camera front. I've had a few issues with images from the 200mp mode and selfies can sometimes be simply dreadful, making me look like I'm wearing a dreaful eye liner and lipstick combo. As a non-pouting 44 year old man, this is not a look I aspire to.
Overall I'm happy with the phone but much of this owes to a fantastic trade in deal, money off and free Samsung Buds 3. I must admit that had the deal not been so extraordinary, I would likely feel like I'd wasted money in upgrading from what was already a fantastic phone in the S23 Ultra.
So it's a promising start and I'm sure Samsung will improve it as they always do. But is just hope they don't get too greedy charging for the best features in the future as I think that I, like many, may well see that as a good reason to explore some of the excellent competitors from other brands that are catching up.

detailedReviews 79: content: Let me start by giving some context: I switched from an S21 Ultra to an S25 Ultra, which is a big upgrade. What I really like about the phone is the design: it's way more sleek and has a much more professional look compared to its predecessors, which is one of the biggest reasons I went for this phone. One thing I'm slightly bothered by is the little nudge of the pen which doesn't fit in completely and shows itself when held to a white background. This ruins the aesthetic of the phone a little bit. However, I love the (almost) flat back and definitely think you should keep this design going, maybe making it completely flat in the future, which is nicer when I place my phone on the table to reduce the wiggle of the phone. Furthermore, the phone is really fast, but then again I come from the S21 so my bar is a little bit lower here. I would have liked an iPhone like FaceID for the biometrics as well, which I think smoothens the customer journey of picking up the phone and immediately using it, by just looking at it. Also, I hope that in some next iteration of the phone the camera can move behind the screen to deliver the full and original smartphone experience. Maybe a little bit off topic, but I would love to see big improvements in GalaxyAI, like support for people with a ChatGPT subscription and integration with multiple apps, like Microsoft Outlook for calendar scheduling, sending emails, etc. Also, the Now Brief is extremely useless as it doesn't add any value to my day, because no relevant information is provided aside from the weather. I'd like to see my Outlook calendar, suggestions to move and shuffle meetings made by the AI, for example. The camera quality improvement is nice, but definitely not the reason why I bought the phone. In a future iteration, aside from the aesthetic improvements, I wouldn't focus on the camera improvements as much anymore as you guys can focus on way more worthtful stuff, like improving the customer journey. Regardless, a great phone and keep up the good work.

detailedReviews 80: content: I was very excited to see the new design of the S25 Ultra. Though I had no issue with the Ultra models having the more rectangular shapes to distinguish them, the rounded edges made them feel more uniform and most importantly, seemed to improve the grip on the phone.
To maximise the benefit of using a high-spec phone, I had set the display of my phone as QHD with 120Hz and the smoothness of general operation as well as apps popping up and down did seem to make a noticeable difference, so I am very much enjoying running many things on my phone all at once.
One unexpected plus was the quality of the speaker – the extremes of high volumes come across as rounder and the overall sound feels richer to the ear. As I use the phone extensively for streaming videos and ASMR files, this was a very welcome improvement.
I also noted that the superwide angle shots from the camera seemed less distorted and more natural. While I have not familiarised myself with the filters that are all different now, I will be putting them to good use when I go travelling this year.
Another difference I found was the use of Gemini almost replacing Google Assistant. I have a few modes and routines set up and saw that Gemini was implementing them. It can do more things now, including modifying other apps and getting the context of what is being asked, though sometimes, it doesn’t seem to pick up words as well as Google Assistant used to.
I also spent a good few hours customising the home screen of my phone using Samsung’s Good Lock app and its ancillary apps and features, allowing me to re-size the app icons as I please, place them wherever I want and also use stickers to cover up some apps. So I’ve been able to make apps that I use frequently bigger and place them in the most accessible positions.
I love all the new improvements and features that Samsung introduced in their new flagship. It does make my life that much better and easier since it’s the one device you keep around you all the time, so I would highly recommend without hesitation.

The entire One UI 7 interface is very clear and simply nice, although this is of course mainly a matter of user habits.
The 5000mAh battery supports 45W wired charging, allowing you to charge up to 65% in about 30 minutes, as well as Fast Wireless Charging 2.0 and Wireless PowerShare.
AI
Among the new features are the drawing functions and AI analysis by pointing to a specific element in the image. Thanks to this, we can simply touch images, text, icons, and other elements on the screen to see the available tools. For example, we can draw, edit, or search. There is also a new version of the Google Assistant Gemini.
The most important AI solutions in the S25 Ultra are related to the camera. They not only allow us to take more beautiful photos (by adjusting and improving them in real time), but also to edit them easily and effectively. And this is where artificial intelligence shines - the Samsung S25 Ultra takes some of the best photos among smartphones available on the market. The same goes for recordings, because here, in turn, AI algorithms allow for reducing ambient noise and sharpening the voice during video recording or conversations. This function is especially useful in noisy environments, providing cleaner and clearer sound.

detailedReviews 82: content: Having used my Galaxy S25 Ultra for a week now I have found my day to day usage of my phone to be worse than my 3 year old S22 Ultra that I have upgraded from. Let me explain.
First of all lets address the elephant into the room, the S Pen has been downgraded. I buy the ultra line of phones for 2 things, the cameras (which are amazing as usual), and the pen. To find that the pen has not been upgraded in 3 years but instead downgraded has been a massive letdown. And to find out thanks to YouTube videos that the charging for the S Pen still exists inside the phone has made me feel even worse about the whole "cost cutting measure" from Samsung. I used the S Pen to regularly take photos from a distance, when the Pixel adverts started regarding adding yourself in to photos using AI I laughed at it because I could just be in the photo if there was a place to prop up my phone, but I can no longer make that claim.
Second, the UI has gone downhill in the last 3 years, which has even affected my S22U but is more noticeable in the S25U. Firstly my old snipping tools in the edge panel have gone, instead being replaced by an AI which often gets what I want to do with it wrong, making my regular snip and shares a whole lot longer a process. Then to discover the gif capture tool had completely gone was the cherry on top that annoyed me more. Also gone are the old 3 button gesture mode (swipe up from the bottom for home back and app view) that I used to use, instead replaced from swiping in from the side to go back. This would not be so bad if it wasn't for the other feature I regularly use, the edge panel. Now when trying to swipe on the S panel I regularly end up hitting back by accident, this is very frustrating and again makes regular tasks on my phone take longer to perform. Thanks to the curve on my S22U screen this did not happen as often, but is now happening all the time.
Also I am not sure how but due to the new UI I keep missing notifications. I did not miss messages as often as I do on the S25U ultra, and this is beging to get frustrating as I only realised it has happened hours later. I again do not know how this is occuring but I do know the new notification experience is different and it is something in this that is causing me this problem.
Finally my last complaint about the new phone. "Now Brief" Or as I like to call it the button that tells me the weather, because no matter what I do, that's all it will tell me. My calendar is loaded in my phone, my phone knows the news I like to read but all I get from this "AI" feature, is the weather? My other brand fitness tracker tells me much more about my day to day without the need for AI. Also this now Brief feature seems to take over some old notification like spotify, so instead of a nice big tile with my music controls it has been relegated to the bottom in a very small section, I am not sure why the UI downgrade was necessary.
The only thing so far I have found to have been upgraded from my old phone is the photo editing abilities. The AI ability to remove objects is easily superior to the old, even if it takes twice as long to do so and also does not allow editing the photo a 2nd time before having to save.
I honestly want to like my new phone, I am a fan of Samsung. I am typing this review on my Samsung Tab so it is not like I have something against the brand. But I genuinely feel like the S25U is a step backwards from my old S22U and it feels genuinely disappointing (I almost sent the phone back to keep my S22U before remembering the reasons I am upgrading in the first place). The phone itself is good, but it is hindered by a downgrade in user experience for my day to day life.
I will not write what is good about the phone because it is not unique to this device, the S22U, 23, 24 etc were all good on release for the same reason (camera, speed etc) and that has continued but those things are not what make a phone feel like an upgrade, they just make you feel like you're staying up to date.
Though I will comment on 1 thing that is usually good about the phones. The display. Though I said earlier about the curved display on the S22U helping with a poor UI choice, I am happy it is gone, it is far easier to protect this device. But at the same time when I viewed my old 22 and 25 side by side I noticed the new display was brighter but noticibly less colourful than my old device. It is probably more accurate a display, but I have my display set to vivid as I like less accurate bolder colours, which the s25 does not seem as capable of as the S22. But I feel this screen will be a lot easier to see in direct sunlight compared to the 22. So the screen is overall an upgraded feeling but just not to my personal taste.

I think that Samsung is doing a very good job when the new models are lunched each year offering a lot of gifts, trade in deals and discounts when pre ordering the phone.
This year I have pre ordered the phone same as 2 years ago and got some good deals, like 1Tb for the price of 512gb, Samsung exclusive colour the Titanium jet black which is the best..., good deal to trade in an old S5, free Galaxy Buds, 10% off on the App. Store and £128 worth of gift after this review and also used my Samsung reward points....
There's no doubt that the phone is great and a good upgrade from the S23 ultra which is still a very good phone.
The S25 ultra has better screen brightness and a lot less reflective which I will find extremely useful when I'm out and about in the summer and watching videos while sunbathing.....
Also has a faster processor and better graphics, 7 years of updates, can take better photos and record better quality videos.
I find the AI features are the most useful when it comes to photos and videos but having said that there is still work to do in that respect, to be better than the competition in every aspect of video recording and night time photography.
Hopefully some of the updates will improve night time videos and photos quality and also better results recording/ photographing fast moving objects/people.
Switching from the s23 ultra will take a little time to get used to the rounded edges and flat screen, I think in that respect I prefer the s23 ultra.
Hopefully Samsung won't follow this trend of rounding the edges even more when the new models will come out. It would feel like copying the main competitor.
The other thing I find hard to understand why did the S pen lost the air gesture features.... maybe it will slightly increase battery life not needing to charge the pen.
I also would of prefer a black S pen for a black phone, don't really like the creamy grey colour the new S pen has. Also the S pen for the S23 ultra has better texture and a better feel to it, so in my opinion the S pen is a total downgrade.
After mentioning some of the positive and negative features the S25 ultra has compared to the S23 ultra, I still think I made a good decision by upgrading.

I've been using the Z flip 5 for the last year and the S25 Ultra is definitely worth upgrading to. The screen quality and camera are certainly much better. There is no lag when trying to do things and it responds instantly. The AI features are making it much easier to do things, I'm not the greatest with tech and anything that helps is always a bonus. It's like having a personal assistant in your pocket.
The only thing I can say I'm disappointed with is they have taken away the bluetooth capability from the S pen. When I've had previous models with the pen I've always found the feature of being able to use the pen as a shutter button for the camera a really useful feature. Esepcially with small hands it can be quite awkward trying to take photos and the s pen would always make it so much easier. Now that its been removed, I struggle with taking photos from a distance or when taking a group selfie with family.
The picture quality of photos is fantastic and the AI features of being able to edit them is great. When removing object from pictures you don't want it often gets the fill in bit perfect so you can't tell anything has been removed. Also being able to use AI to make pictures for you is great fun. My son wanted a picture of a hedgehog in a hat, not a common request but with the AI it came up with perfect images for him.
Sometimes I'm not the greatest at wording things, the feature of AI being able to review and edit what you're trying to say in a professional way is very helpful.
I'm not sure if you're going from an s24 ultra to the s25 there's much difference or it'd be really worth it as many of the features are also available as an update but going from the Z flip 5 is certainly worth it. It's a world of difference and the quality of everything from scrolling, the screen, pictures makes me wonder why I ever went for the flip phone in the first place.

I was reading up on the specification of the new Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite processor that is used in the S25, and at the moment it is claiming to be the fastest and latest chip from the company Qualcomm, it’s built on a 3 nm process, claiming more power and more energy efficiency. This chip claims the CPU is 30% faster, the GPU is 37% faster, and NPU is 40% faster than the S24. (Speeds as stated by Samsung and Qualcomm).
The screen on the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is stating Gorilla Armor 2, and it claims better durability, if dropped on rough or hard surfaces, it is engineered to better resist damage, such as breakage, more effectively than ever before.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra uses the same four cameras on the rear as the S24, 200 MP main, 10MP 3x zoom, 50 MP 5x zoom, the only difference is that the ultra-wide camera now has a 50 MP camera compared to a 12MP camera on the S24, and the same 12MP camera on the front.
So for myself I am pleased I purchased the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, I was going to upgrade to the S24 Ultra last year, both phones have the same Ram and Storgage, I am glad I waited for the 2025 model, I upgraded from a Samsung S22, and the improvements for me and the much improved ram and storage (shown below) are vast and me well worth the cost.

detailedReviews 86: content: I absolutely love my new S25 Ultra, having upgrading from the A53. The hardware upgrades such as a faster processor, new 50MP camera is the most notable and definitely makes a difference.
With regards to software, no more shutter lags (my A53 camera was useless because of it), great layout and the Now Brief bar (long overdue) has made it great for keeping track of health goals and overview of day (I am hoping that as it gets to know me more it will be more impactful to my daily life).
The most useful feature upgrade for me is the AI features such as the dedicated button to access Gemini which has been a great companion to my day to day work and has helped me (great for accessibility for those who are neurodiverse).
The S25 Ultra has a slight learning curve if upgrading from the "A-series", the same goes for using the AI features to truly get the most out of such a powerful device.
Definitely has made a difference to how I navigate, get information quickly down on notes has also been great. Even though the S Pen no longer had the Bluetooth functions that had made it great as a shutter button, I have a Watch 7 and also the Tab S9+ so it isn't a big compromise for me in this aspects.
But it may be a compromise to others. If you are looking for a powerful, fast and top of the line speeds for increased productivity or you (like me) enjoys having a great professional quality camera in the palm of your hand, the S25 Ultra is for you, especially if you are a professional.
However, if you are looking for a easy to understand phone out of the box, have reservations with using AI or not really using a phone for work/content creation, then the S25 Ultra may be a bit of challenge for new users.
Thanks Samsung for giving us an amazing device, packed with never ending new tools to discover to improve day to day life and accessibility needs too.

I was excited to upgrade from the S22 Ultra. The snappy UI and battery stamina was notable, as well as the gorgeous anti-reflective screen.
As a photographer, I used the Bluetooth S-Pen, so I was disappointed with the removal of the Bluetooth. The housing of the S25 Ultra S-Pen feels cheaper than that of my previous S22 Ultra. Additionally the night photo mode has banding issues, albeit acknowledged by Samsung and will supposedly be addressed in an update. The zoom transitions don't seem as smooth as my previous phone either.
For those coming from an S23/S24 Ultra, you may want to wait for the S26 Ultra to have any meaningful gains, such as the rumoured new battery technology.
The phone comes with One UI 7.0 out of the box and seems to be the most customizable skin yet when using all the Good Lock apps.
I miss the share Samsung TV to phone screen, as I only got it working once on this phone and no longer see it in Smart View, not sure what's happening.
Quick Share works really well and Smart Things have been implemented very well.
Gemini and Bixby AI integration seems to be cool, but limited at the moment, with hopes that future software updates bring new capabilities. At the moment, it's free and I really hope Samsung doesn't change this to a subscription service, given that we pay a hefty premium for this phone with axed features such as Bluetooth S-Pen and no headphone jack, a move that I am not happy with having premium wired headphones. Why place such a nice DAC in a phone that would only be bypassed when connecting via USB C dac of likely inferior quality?
As it stands, it's a good phone, about 3.75/5 for the price. The best bang for buck would likely be the S25+, but a great device for those coming from earlier models.

The Good:
I upgraded from my S24 Ultra, which was already a beast at everything but the S25 Ultra feels like a refined version with extra quality-of-life features I’ve always wanted. So far, I haven’t experienced a single hiccup, even with demanding games and graphics. It’s super smooth—perfect for both gaming and editing.
Physically, it’s lighter and minimally smaller, yet the screen is slightly larger, which is a huge plus for my small hands and wrists. The reduced weight makes it much more comfortable to hold and even fits better in some pockets. The weight distribution feels more balanced, and the rounded corners are a godsend. The S24 Ultra’s sharp corners would leave marks on my palms even with a case (and those marks still haven’t fully faded!), but the S25 Ultra is so much more comfortable while still maintaining its signature style. I also love the flat edges, it makes reaching across the screen easier, though it's still a bit tricky with super small hands.
The Titanium Silverblue colour is classy and elegant. It reminds me of a polo shirt with a subtle hint of purple and a soft, matte chromatic shine.
One of the biggest upgrades is the speakers. The sound is richer and fuller, with noticeably better bass representation compared to the S24 Ultra. Watching videos for the first time on this phone, I was impressed by how immersive the surround effects were. Music sounds deeper and more dynamic and vocals are more natural and present in all content.
The S-Pen is nearly identical to the S24 Ultra’s but slightly lighter, with a thicker stopper at the end. It works flawlessly—just make sure to remove any MagSafe accessories (like PopSockets) before using it! I never used the Bluetooth air gestures, so their removal is a welcome change for me, as it helps preserve battery life and reduce the device’s weight.
The display is as perfect as ever, sharp, bright when needed with deep blacks and excellent dimming in dark environments. It seems slightly more saturated than the S24 Ultra, though it’s only noticeable when comparing them side by side. I’ve also noticed a unique blurring effect at the edges in some games, almost like a curved-screen illusion, which adds a more dramatic and dynamic feel along with the colour.
Haptic feedback also feels more immersive than before.
The Bad:
The only real issue I’ve encountered so far (on the out-of-the-box software) is the camera—and it’s been incredibly disappointing. I expected at least the same quality as the S24 Ultra, if not slightly better at times but right now, it’s significantly worse.
In mid to low-light conditions, even at 200MP, images come out pixelated, slightly blurry and overly contrast-heavy with a brassy, filter-like effect. Some photos even have random banding across them and highlights and shadows where there aren't any, making them look artificial, almost like AI-generated images or oil paintings with mistakes. This happens whether AI optimization is turned on or off. Expert RAW and log mode can help a bit but they require a lot of manual tweaking to get decent results.
In good lighting, the difference is much less noticeable and photos turn out similar to those from my S24 Ultra, which consistently delivered near-perfect shots in all conditions. However, given that I’ve seen a few others report similar issues (though not many), I’m hopeful this is just a software-related over-processing issue or glitch that will be resolved in an upcoming update. Occasionally it will start to get incredibly hot, the screen can become piping hot randomly but it doesn't do it every time, only sometimes when using the camera and a restart sorts it. This is definitely something that will be resolved in future updates, as it has been with previous devices.

Overall, I’m incredibly happy with my upgrade. If Samsung fixes the camera issue, I’ll happily update this to a 5-star review.
Despite this flaw, I still highly recommend the phone—it’s an excellent device and since this camera issue isn’t widespread, it’s likely an uncommon fault or will be patched in an upcoming update.

The Camera is amazing, coming from an S22 its night and day difference! The quality is incredible both in day & night times, and the different lenses and options for wide angle/ smooth zoom have been a game changer for me. I've also really been making use of the 'Auto' features to help get the best shots possible when on the go and taking quick photos here and there. I've had a short play with the video audio editing element but not really enough to leave a review on this at present.
The performance of the phone is really responsive and fast at multitasking between many open apps. I'm sure this is normal for most recent phones but its an improvement if coming from a few generations old device.
I've given the S25 Ultra 4 stars just because although the phone's features and performance are fantastic, and I do really appreciate the solid build of this phone. I just find it really uncomfortable to hold the S25 Ultra in 1 hand for longer than a few minutes at a time. This may be a 'small hands' issue only some people will find a pain, but it is a pain that I believe is down to the less 'curved' makeup of the phones design. A case might solve this issue, but that's also going to make this already big phone bigger!
Would I buy this phone again? - The answer is certainly yes, especially if you're coming from an older generation of phones such as S22 and earlier. If you have a S23/ S24 then maybe consider the features and performance you have now against the features and performance & cost of upgrading.

The S25 Ultra's stylus is sleek and ergonomic, fitting perfectly in my hand and the functionality and I like the pen click you get on the stylus, it makes it feel more pen like.
Ultimately, I love my ultra, I am glad that I switched back over from the Z series. Its elegant and powerful (just like me lol). I would highlight recommend any users of the “other brand” take a chance and make the switch, you wont be disappointed.

The camera setup is fantastic! The 200MP primary camera captures incredibly detailed photos, even in low light, and the 100x Space Zoom is amazing for capturing distant objects without losing quality. I'm into my astro photography and still waiting for a clear night to really test it out on the night sky, but I'm expecting good things! The ultra-wide and telephoto lenses add a bit more versatility, allowing me to try and be more creative with different types of shots.
Another new and helpful feature is the native call recording functionality, allowing me to record any call with a tap of the screen, and it even notifies the other person when you do so.
Performance-wise, the S25 Ultra feels fast and smooth to use, with battery life maybe slightly improved over the S24, but with heavy usage I’m still having to charge it during the day. It supports super-fast charging, so a full charge doesn't take long at all.
The user interface remains intuitive and full of useful features, although removing Bluetooth from the S pen so you can't use it to operate the camera will disappoint some people. It's easy enough to work around and in all other areas the S pen works great.
Overall, a fantastic phone, possibly the best one on the market right now, that continues to push the bar for what a phone can do.

The view other open apps in background is sometimes annoying too because it goes back to the first opened app instead of the last recent one, for example I open internet-> calculator-> YouTube, etc and press the 3 lines on navigation bar it will take me back to internet when it should be showing calculator it's glitchy and I know this needs to be fixed but the pulldown panel needs to be fixed even more
Some applications are adjusted well to the new UI like an audio equaliser app such as Poweramp
Other than this the phone is amazing, the battery, the camera, and the storage are the best parts of the phone. The battery is so good it can handle qhd+ display without the phone only lasting 4hours like previous models, it will last the whole day!
I do wish the phone came with a better charging cable and a 40w power brick because the on power cable it takes almost 3hours for it to be fully charged but with the same power cable and brick for my old s23 it only took 1.30hours, I mean common! For the Insane price of the phone because £1000+ it should come with a power cable and brick that can supply the phone with super fast charging for it category of smart phone.
Oh and the design, honestly if they were to remove the SIM card tray from the bottom right of the phone the could have used it to add another speaker or made it symmetrical

Firstly, battery life, only getting a handful of on screen time before having to charge again, I only ever have it on 1080p & 60hz. I am tech savy and have a lot of knowledge in regards to this department, unfortunately it is clearly the poor One Ui 7 software optimisation that Samsung has, even pervious softwares which this hasn't improved at all, even with newer flagship devices with the latest generation chip for Samsung.
Poor and laggy customisation via lockscreen and homescreen. Doesn't feel fluid or responsive when trying to edit a wallpaper for example.
As for general UI, could still massively improve the experience, not even on bar with Apple or Googles software unfortunately.
Feel they have become extremely "laid back" approach overall, which unfortunately has left a extremely negative experience with me and my support for Samsung.
The phone over heats on even the most basic of tasks. I have obviously done a full reset and factory reset with no luck.
Explained to samsung my issues and they simply aren't interested.
The camera is extremely washed out when zooming in, and this is just a standard 10x zoom which other devices have far better clarity.
Look elsewhere. For a flagship experience and for the price. Far from Flagship quality.
As someone who specialises in phone and technology, feel very let down from Samsung.

Outside of the generative AI in the image gallery allowing you to remove items from view (which can be scarily good!), I have to admit that I feel like I'm wielding potential awesomenes, rather than AI smarts that augment my life in any meaningful way. Gemini Live is a hoot at times, but again is yet to provide any conducive positives or natural flow to every day use. One big question mark looms over what Samsung's plan is regarding the Gemini Advanced feature bundled with the phone; how long will it be before they ask us to cough up to retain the upgraded AI that's on tap, and will it be the market-rate fee (£18.99!) from Google, or come in at a preferential rate to S25 Ultra users, given how hard they've leaned into it as a defining feature of handing over your hard-earned cash? Only time (and the decisions of other companies adopting the same technologies) will tell.....
Should you buy this phone? That's a relative question, however based on quality, performance and potential alone, I would definitely recommend taking the plunge.

"Now Bar," which is Samsung 's version of Apple's "Dynamic Island," can be an essential feature for those Galaxy smartphone users who require various notifications and music on their locked screens. And 6) the Microsoft OneDrive app is NOT working on this smartphone. While this overclock of the processor is something that will help all the apps on the S25 Ultra, it probably comes into its own when playing games on the S25 Ultra. For very processor intensive games, such as Genshin Impact and Warzone Mobile, this overclocking will give you a few extra frames. This could also be the difference to maintaining a constant 60FPS with all the graphics quality options set to their maximum.
Add to that, DeX mode, which allows you to connect your S25 Ultra to a HDMI TV or computer monitor. Then you can effectively turn your S25 Ultra into a desktop gaming console by adding a compatible USB-C dock and a game controller, such as the Sony Dualsense or Xbox Series S/X controllers.
Lastly, some good news for anyone using their S25 Ultra in DeX mode. The original Samsung DeX Station is fully compatible with the S25 Ultra. So if you have one of these that you’ve been using with a previous DeX compatible Galaxy phone, you can still use it with the S25 Ultra.

detailedReviews 99: content: I was happy with my S23 Ultra but thought it was a good time to upgrade and the trade in price was good for the S23 Ultra. That is a good benefit of the Samsung S Ultra series with them holding on well to their values.
The first thing I noticed with the S25 Ultra was how much better it felt in the hand. Although the S23 spent pretty much its entire life in a case, on the few occasions I took it out it felt slippery like a bar of soap and likely to be dropped at any time. That's not the case here with the S25 Ultra which feels solid and easy to grip.
I found the battery remained good on the S23 Ultra. I always charge to 80% to preserve its life and found that it usually still lasted the day with moderate use. I initially found that the S25 Ultra was beginning to run out by the end of the day charging to 80%. However after a couple of weeks use this settled down so I expect it was just using more as it was setting up and using things for the first time. The S25 Ultra actually has a battery setting (AI generated obviously) which stops the battery fully charging overnight but then gets to near 100% by the time you wake up. This preserves the battery as constantly topping up to 100% can degrade the battery. As i say I haven't really used that as only charging to 80% still lasts the day or if its not going to make it then I just stick it on a wireless charger for a bit.
AI wise there is an AI brief which I think will be useful but there isn't much in it at the moment. At different times of the day it will give information which it thinks is relevant at that time. For instance first thing in the morning it will automatically tell me how I slept and it worked out I always checked the news first thing so asked me if I wanted to auto open that when I turned my phone on first thing. Hopefully it will come up with more suggestions as time goes on. I also wish it came in a bigger widget form so I didn't have to actually open it.
The camera is good as always. I used the AI feature to edit somebody out of a photo I took as they walked in front of me while I was photographing my daughter. It did a great job of getting rid of them.
Another good AI feature is summarising articles. Sometimes you don't want to read a whole article for find something out like when a game starts but the AI can provide a small summary instead which often contains when you need.
It is a shame the S Pen has been downgraded with no Bluetooth. I probably contributed to that by not using it much but when I did it was very useful so its a shame.
All in all a good upgrade. All phones now do tend to be evolution rather than revolution but that's not a bad thing when the design is so good. It also means its effortless to upgrade. Samsung makes this exceptionally easy particularly when you still have your own phone and it just transfers over automatically.

However, it's is unacceptable that in 2025 all cameras are not all 8K.
3x zoom should have been updated this year along the ultra wide, as the quality is not good, and it's a disrespectful strategy to its costumers not to bring the best tech out when they have it already available. This makes the filming experience a bad one, since we cannot use and move through all cameras.
Also, the main camera could make use of a 1"inch sensor, and the selfie cam should be 8K too.
Additionally, there's already denser battery tech that would allow for a bigger battery, and much higher charging rates which would allow for much quicker charging.
Removing bluetooth functionality from the SPen was not cool.
Finally, a lot of the AI features which basically where all the hype about this phone, apparently will be paid from next year... Unacceptable, when we buy a device we don't want to pay subscriptions.
Consequently, it is a great phone but not yet the Ultra phone it could have been.

The experience was inconsistent, especially when it came to the battery life. Even after I followed all the battery guidelines and turned off things in the settings, the battery would still drain unnaturally fast even with light use. It gave me constant anxiety. With iPhones, the battery just lasts and lets me forget it.
As for the apps and UI, it’s true what many have said: Samsung’s software just doesn’t match the polish of iOS. It felt fragmented, clunky, and unrefined. Small things like app animations, message delivery delays, or inconsistent design choices constantly reminded me that I wasn’t on iOS. And while most people may not notice or care, to me, the user experience is everything.
The camera had its moments. But despite the hype around the 100x zoom, it was nearly useless in real-life scenarios like concerts or dim lighting, where the iPhone’s much lower zoom still produced clearer, more usable photos.
Still, Samsung has great things: best display, customization, and freedom of Android.
If you’re thinking of switching from iPhone, I really recommend giving it at least two full weeks.

The flat screen is much more practical for using the S pen. Curved corners look a lot better better and are more ergonomic. The new glass and titanium frame feel great. Whilst it's a very big phone it's actually slightly smaller & lighter than the S23 or S24 Ultra, so easier to handle but the screen is a a bit bigger. Less glare on the screen too and it can get ridiculously bright. I liked the curved back of the S23U but the S25U feels so nice in the hand. Also worth mentioning the improvement in the fingerprint scanner. Very fast and harder to miss than my S23U.
My S23U lasted very well so I expect the S25U to be even better thanks to the upgraded glass, frame & camera lense surrounds.
Most of the colours for the Ultra are pretty bland. I like the Titanium Grey but it's a shame the more vibrant colours from the 25 & S25+ aren't available, especially the blue.
Software wise there's lots of extra features. Now brief is & handy and being able to isolate and remove background noises from video is a seriously useful feature! Cameras are brilliant as always & AI editing festures are helpful. Photo included taken from my S25 with people removed using the stylus to precisely select & AI to delete & fill in.
