snippets: and one more thing that feels missing on the iPhone 15 is a telephoto camera I'm reminded of this every time I try to zoom in this year the main camera is higher resolution and it can give you pretty decent photos at two time zoom but at three time zoom even next to the Samsung S21 my almost 3-year-old Android phone it's noticeably not as good and it only gets worse the more you zoom in but that aside I've been super super impressed with how good the main camera is it's now 48 megapixels which matches the iPhone 15 PR's main camera they're not exactly the same the sensor on the 15 is slightly smaller But the lens is faster and it lets them more light and the result is that it looks almost the same as the iPhone 15 Pro Max's photo even when zoomed in a ton both of these images are 24 megapixels which is the new default on all the new iPhones this is a really great change since the higher resolution makes the image more detailed with less sharpening artifacts and it's only about 1.5 times larger than 12 megap photos before this phone the best camera in the price range is by far the s23 with a really nice 50 megap main camera and a good telephoto camera too however now the iPhone 15's main camera is notably better than the s23 is just take a look at these two photos both taken using their default modes the iPhone 15 photo has so much more detail in the tree and the building it's the same when indoors too the Samsung Photo has a lot more sharpening and looks less natural than the iPhone's photo but actually this difference is partially due to the iph iPhone photo being 24 megapixels versus 12 megapix on the Samsung when they're both at their highest resolution 48 and 50 megapixels the difference in quality is a lot smaller although the tree and the building still look a little bit better and more detailed in the iPhone's photo it's really great that the iPhone 15's main camera image quality is on par with the best out there but not just that there's actually a big hidden Advantage because it can focus as close as 4 and 1/2 in whereas the 15 Pro Max can only focus as close as about 6 and 1/2 in and any closer it will switch the lower quality macro mode so for the Times where you're trying to take a photo of something close up the iPhone 15 will probably be better for it but do note that the iPhone 15 Pro Max can still Focus much closer with its macro mode although the image quality is much lower than with the main camera the iPhone 15 doesn't have this mode which also means that its Ultra wide lens cannot change its focus for environmental shots this is perfectly fine however when there's a subject involved being able to focus like how the Pro Models can is still an advantage but but to be fair at the same price range the s23 is ultra wide also cannot change its focus and their quality is pretty similar but the Samsung image is quite a bit more sharpened as you can see in these leaves here for the selfie I think the iPhone can be a bit too aggressive with the processing like sharpening and contrast which tends to not produce the most pleasing skin here it is next to the s23 which still has my favorite selfie camera for video taken on the main camera the quality is actually shockingly similar between the iPhone 15 and the s23 and the stabilization is pretty similar too this year the iPhone 15 gained the ability to add portrait mode effect to photos and post and it can do it on pretty much any kind of subject this is pretty cool and I can see myself using it occasionally another software feature that I like is a New Horizon level overall the iPhone 15's soul to cameras are great and to be honest I'm shocked that the main camera photos are just as good as from the pro model but unlike most of its competitors not having a telephoto camera puts it at a distinct disadvantage when taking photos of anything that's even slightly farther away so it might have the best main camera in its price range but definitely not the best camera system

snippets: Unfortunately, you will need to cover them up with a case, or at least you really should since, well, glass is glass and glass can crack very easily., Still, these phones just feel so good in the hand., And flipping the phone to the front, things only continue to get better., We have the highresolution OLED screen with thin bezels and that dynamic island which has always been an underrated feature in my opinion allowing for easy media controls and offering a lot of neat fluid functionality., The display is still only 60 Hz with no prootion just like the iPhone 16., This is a bit unfortunate and if you do want 120 Hz for a much smoother looking iOS experience, you'll need to go up to a pro model iPhone as even the nonpro 16 still doesn't have it., There is no always on display here, unfortunately., And uh that's something only on the Pro iPhones still., Even the 16 doesn't have it., So that's kind of crazy., We also have the slider on the side instead of the action button., But this is uh really not a big deal if you want that new button that's on the 15 Pro 16 Pro, but again, who really cares?, I still use it as a mute switch on my 15 Pro, so not exactly the end of the world not to have it., Anyways, the display is gorgeous, just like the rest of the phone, as you would expect., And on the bottom of the device, we have the USBC charging port., This, of course, thanks to some EU regulations, replaced a lightning, which means your old iPhone chargers won't work on this device., But even if that seems a little bit inconvenient, it's still ultimately a good thing as more and more tech has adopted this universal standard., It might suck for a little bit, but uh trust me, in the long run, it is worth it., It's the same port you might find on a PlayStation 5 controller, a MacBook, or even a Nintendo Switch, for example, or basically any Android phone., If you're in the US, the iPhone 15 will not have a SIM tray., I'm in Canada, but this phone originally was purchased in the US, so it's eSIM only., ESIM works really well and can be very convenient, so it's not a big deal, and most carriers will support it by this point, though, you might want to double check with yours before purchasing this phone., And again, if you're outside the US, you should have that SIM tray like my 15 Pro Max still does., We've got your standard slew of features here., IP68 water resistance, fast charging with the correct power brick, which won't come in the box, wireless charging, and makes safe, which is always nice., This is a very capable phone with most of the bells and whistles you would hope for given the cost, even if a couple like the always on display are still missing., So, let's turn to the cameras., On the front, we've got a single 12 megapixel selfie camera, which can take good pictures as you would hope., On the back, we've got those two camera lenses, a 12 megapixel ultra wide, and then what was a new addition over the 14 with the 48 megapixel main wide lens., This allows for more versatility when taking photos with 0.5 time zoom, one time zoom, and even two time zoom as it crops the 48 megapixels down to 12 in order to zoom in two times while still avoiding losing too much quality., We also have 4K video at 60 frames per second, which looks really good, as you would expect from any iPhone camera these days., Smartphone cameras throughout the 2020s have gotten really good, and the 15 is no exception, even if it's no longer the newest generation available., You can capture absolutely fantastic photos, particularly in good lighting conditions, but it still really holds its own in low light scenarios as well., Having a phone with a good camera is going to be very important for a lot of users., And I feel the ideal situation is when you can be completely confident that if you snap a few photos, you'll get something that turns out basically no matter what., And with the iPhone 15, even if it's not quite as fancy as the 16 Pro or whatever else, I do believe you can absolutely have that confidence., The photos it produces are just reliably great and fully capable of capturing moments and memories., The iPhone 16 is missing the ultraide lens, but otherwise it has the same 48 megapixel wide lens, so you can expect very similar results from that phone., And of course, if you really want the best photography available, you should shell out the cash for the 16 Pro as it will offer the most possible versatility and highest quality., But yes, the iPhone 15 takes great pictures, and that's all I think really matters., And that one word, great, really can be applied to the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus in their entirety., They're just great phones in every department, making them an ideal purchase in 2025 for most users., Or at least they would be if that iPhone 16E didn't exist at a cheaper price point., Battery life is generally really good so long as the battery is healthy., Once it gets down to close to about 80% or so, you'll especially start to notice it's not as strong as it used to be., And eventually, you'll get a pop-up telling you to service the battery, get it replaced through Apple, which might be worth doing to breathe some new life into your phone., But when the battery is healthy, you'll be getting a day's usage no problem., Particularly the 15 Plus is really good here thanks to the bigger battery inside, but the regular 15 is solid, too., Hardware-wise, the iPhone 15 is also great., We're looking at Apple's A16 Bionic chipset and 6 gigs of RAM, making for smooth and consistent performance that will remain fast no matter what you throw at it., This is the same chip that was in the iPhone 14 Pro and it's a whole generation newer than what was in the iPhone 14, but then also two generations behind the iPhone 16 and with less RAM to boot, which again makes you scratch your head as to why Apple thinks they can charge $100 extra for the 15 than the 16e, even if the 15 and 16e were the same price., I would probably still recommend the 16e for most users, not only for the A18 chip and Apple intelligence, but just for the better battery life alone., But still, thanks to the powerful specs inside, we can expect many more years of iOS updates through to at least, I would say, 2029., Though, it could easily go longer., Performance right now is very fast and consistently smooth., While this may not always be the case, this phone is recent enough that I wouldn't expect any real problems anytime soon, unless you do have a sketchy battery, and even then, again, you can always get it replaced through Apple., There is a reason this phone has always sold so well since it launched., And while it's not a good deal buying it brand new at the moment, if you were to buy the iPhone 15 in 2025, you are getting a smartphone you can be confident will last you at least a few years before you'll start to want something newer, depending on how often you typically like to upgrade., There's just very little to complain about here., We have a beautiful design and display, fast performance that will remain that way for many more years., A versatile and strong camera setup, those nice features like the dynamic island, USBC, Mag Safe., This is the complete package., So, before we wrap this up, let's take a quick look at the secondhand market since that might be the only reasonable way to purchase this phone without running into the whole 16e is better value conundrum., On ebay.com, I was finding the 15 with 128 GB and around 500 bucks, but honestly, prices were kind of all over the place., The 15 Pro is actually a really good phone to look at right now, and I'll again link my iPhone buying guide in the description below., It's not much more, and it's a far better phone than the 16e at a similar price., You'll just be looking at used or refurbished., If you can find the 15 in good condition with a healthy battery at under $500, I would say it's a decent deal., But I'd still probably point you to the iPhone 16e in most cases or again that 15 Pro., I think either of those devices just make more sense for most people right now., Still, all in all, the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus are great and if you own one at the moment, you've got nothing to worry about., It's a really fantastic smartphone., It's hard to go wrong with the 15., It'll do you really well, more than able to not only get the job done, but offer a premium and pleasant experience for the foreseeable future., So, any of you using the iPhone 15 right now?, How do you like it?, Make sure you leave a comment down below., If you found this video interesting or helpful, please hit that like button and consider subscribing for more tech content., Again, this is my second review on the iPhone 15 this year., And I'll probably just unlist the first video., That 16e really threw Apple's entire lineup out of whack in terms of how these phones values look., So, yeah, I thought it was important to update this review., Thank you all so much for watching., I am Josh from 911 Tech and I will see you all next time.

snippets: huge point of contention this year was that Apple said there are now seven focal lengths available on the phone and I don't know if you're counting the same way I am but there are three lenses so obviously they're doing some magic here to make it work so in using these features in daily life I think the results come out very well I actually think it's a good feature being able to switch to 28 and 35 mm those are very common focal length in traditional photography like old school Point shoots would all be 35 mm and that small amount of crop is something I would do and post anyway Apple Does it Better in camera so I think it looks great and I'm happy with how they've done it I just I don't like the way they marketed it really presenting this as if you have more cameras than there are because what if they someday add seven cameras now they've you know used up all that marketing Goodwill on saying that cropping is the same as a focal length change but some people have also been worried about like if you're zooming in using those artificial cameras are you getting the same compression of someone's face and the important thing to know is that most of that face compression actually happens because of the distance the subject is away from the lens it's not lens Distortion specifically so you had an ultra wide camera with infinite megapixels and infinite depth of field as you zoomed in all the way you would find that same type of compression as long as the distance of the camera from the subject remained the same so don't worry about it use these small little crop modes these focal lengths as much as you want they look good they're just not the same as adding a lens but it is easier to access all those megapixels now you're able to go into the settings and change to shooting 48 megapixel heaths so you don't have to shoot raw, huge feature iPhone 15 Pro Max now has the five times telephoto lens I think this is basically a choice of preference a bigger number here is not necessarily an upgrade and to some people it could be a bit of a downgrade if you need that larger screen size and you like 3x you don't have a choice anymore kind of wish there was four lenses on here but there's not so if you're trying to decide which phone do you need I i' actually say choose first off of the phone size I think this amount of reach isn't necessarily the most important feature 5x looks good it's really interesting if you want to show something way over there but actually I find 77 mm is creatively more useful most of the time I asked on Twitter and there seemed to be completely even split between the people that wanted a 77 and a 120 mm personally I'd actually use the 77 millimeter but this year I want to try the 120 see how it is so I'll probably be going for the iPhone 15 Pro Max

The iPhone 15 in Blue is gorgeous—the color pops with a matte finish that's fingerprint-resistant, and the 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display is buttery smooth at 60Hz for videos and apps. A16 Bionic chip handles everything from gaming to editing flawlessly, and the 48MP camera nails portraits and low-light shots. 128GB is plenty for me, and USB-C charging is a welcome change. Battery lasts a solid day. Only gripe: no 120Hz ProMotion like the Pro models—feels a tad dated in scrolling. Still, best iPhone for most users—love it!

I was a bit worried as the order might get cancelled as it was delaying, the packaging seemed old, I checked the Apple Coverage website with the serial number just to confirm if it was pre-activated or not. It was recently manufactured and was brand new.
Coming to the performance part, it is great. The display runs smooth, the multimedia and gaming experience is good. We will still miss out high refresh rates on gaming if you are used to using one on an android, but the game is quite responsive and no lag or frame drops.
The camera is sufficient to day to day stuff.
The build quality is also great and fine compact phone with no big camera buldge.
The challenging part is battery, you have to manage that efficiently. It is a 9/10 device.
