detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: If you’re a Samsung phone and watch user and have the money, the Galaxy Watch Ultra LTE is a no brainer upgrade – especially if you are athletic, exercise or care about your health. But what about coming from another platform? Is it worth it and will it work fully? This review intends to address these questions and provide some insight into making the transition as easy as possible, because in my opinion it is totally worth the effort.
I’m coming at this from owning a Pixel Watch 1 and a Pixel 8 Pro, a decidedly non-Samsung platform perspective. The PW1 was not my first smart watch – that would be the Motorola 360 back in 2014 – but it was the first smart watch I was happy enough with to wear all day long. (Or at least until it had to be recharged…) While it took me a little bit of time, effort and research to get the Ultra up and running and get used to the differences, I can honestly say that I don’t think I’ll be able to go back to the Pixel Watch after using it. I’ll get into the setup later but first I’d like to talk about the Ultra itself.
First of all, there’s the size. In pictures it looks gigantic and somewhat intimidating. One of the reasons I never wore my previous smartwatches all day long (besides the battery life) was that I was never really comfortable with a watch on my wrist in the first place. Before smart watches, I rarely wore a watch. The PW1 was the first watch I could wear to bed, which is important if you want to capture sleep metrics. But once you get the Ultra on your wrist, it doesn’t FEEL big. And since the body is made out of titanium, it actually felt lighter than my previous watches. Sleeping was no big deal, and I’ve found the data to be more accurate than what I was getting in Fitbit with my PW1. The display on the other hand looks huge, which is what I wanted. It’s super bright and easy to read in full sunlight. The UI response is fluid, and the watch feels ultra-premium. Battery life is, in a word, amazing. I can go a day without a charge or quickly charge it when I take a shower.
But for me the biggest difference and also the most compelling reason to switch to the Samsung watch platform is the software, both on the watch and on the phone. The Galaxy Wearables app is head and shoulders above Google’s Wear app and Google should take notes… or simply let Samsung rewrite it. For instance, it is so much easier to customize a watch face on the phone than it is to do on the watch – even with the bigger display – and the Wearables app allows you to do this and easily cycle through the options. You can also sort and customize the apps tray on the watch but it’s much easier on the phone. All of my old faces appear to work, and Samsung includes a number of great looking faces with enough customization options to satisfy anyone. Also, I’m liking Samsung Health Monitor compared to Fitbit. I’m not missing any features, and the layout seems more intuitive to me.
On the watch itself, Samsung’s One UI takes the things I didn’t like about the Wear UI and either corrects them or replaces them with something better. More gestures. Easier access to apps. A better and more comprehensive control panel. Again, this is an area where Google should be taking advantage of their watch partnership with Samsung. Things that I had to add on as a separate program (and sometimes pay for) are just built into the UI. When it comes to the UI and support software, it honestly feels like Samsung has outdone Google in their own arena. In short, I was waiting for the Google IO event to see if I would regret my decision to jump ship and I can confidently say that the Galaxy Watch Ultra will be my daily driver for a LONG time.
But getting here wasn’t without effort and trials, predominantly because I was coming from a Pixel instead of Samsung phone and I’d like to go over what I experienced in the setup and a few limitations on the Ultra because of it.
Firstly, to use any of the health features, you’re going to need to setup a Samsung account. I had one that I set up when I bought a Samsung tablet a few years ago and re-establishing access to it took a few tries and lots of security checks to prove who I was. So much so that the watch setup timed out twice while I was doing it. So set up your account before staring the watch and make sure you can log into it!
Also, you will have to install a few programs to complete the setup. If you already own a Samsung phone these apps would normally be preinstalled for the most part, but they’re available on the Play store so do yourself a favor and download them before you attempt to set up. You’ll need the Samsung Galaxy Wearable app, the Samsung Galaxy Watch7 Plugin, Samsung Health Monitor and Samsung Smart Switch Mobile. If you install these BEFORE you set up your Ultra, you’ll be able to power through. I didn’t and once again, my watch timed out and had to reset and re-paired.
Including software/firmware updates, this took over an hour. Not all my previously installed Pixel Watch apps were available to install during set up and I had to do those manually, but this wasn’t a problem. I also Installed Health Connect to sync data between Samsung Health Monitor and Fitbit. It seems to be setup properly and there are no errors on sync, but I still am not seeing data in Fitbit, so I’ll have to do more research. (Once you set permissions for both apps, you have to launch each one. Fitbit will give you an HC intro page where you can activate and see permissions. Once this is done, you should see data exchange between the apps.) By the way, it was simple to add my Ultra to my Google Fi account to get LTE services and it disabled my Pixel Watch’s LTE without my having to intervene. LTE works great and on my walk tests, it was able to track my route effectively.
One annoyance however was that for some reason when I finally completed my setup my Ultra would only show the weather in metric measurements. This is something Samsung should look into since the very first thing you do after the watch powers up is select your locale so there should be no reason for it to display anything other than imperial measurements since I chose “United States”. It took me two days of research to finally find where to change this! In the Samsung Wearables app, go to Watch Settings and find the Apps options. In Apps, find the Weather app and select it. Under the name, you should see “App Settings”, and this is where you can set the units as well as the locations and refresh times.
There are a couple of features that are "exclusive” to Samsung phones and won’t work out of the box on other phone brands, namely the ECG recording, Irregular Heartbeat monitoring, Blood Pressure and Sleep Apnea monitoring. The last one is a heart breaker for me as I have a family history of sleep apnea and wanted to be able to keep an eye on this issue if it develops. Fortunately, there are mods/hacks available to enable the first three features and I have high hopes of the Sleep Apnea being accessed soon. I won’t go into this as it’s out of the scope of this review, but I’ll simply say to Google the XDA Forums if this is something that you might consider. The mods don’t require root and don’t void the warranty so they should be accessible to the average technical user.
All in all, I am extremely happy with my Galaxy Ultra LTE and I would recommend it highly whether you own a Samsung phone or any other Android device.

title: Excellent upgrade from Pixel Watch, seamless integration
detailedReviews 2: content: Coming from a Galaxy Watch 5 Pro that I’ve been wearing for a few years now, I was expecting a similar experience with the Ultra. When you live with a watch day to day for a couple of years it kind of just fades into the background. I had the opportunity to upgrade to the Ultra and figured replacing the two-year-old technology was probably a good idea. As I said, I expected a similar experience to the GW 5 Pro, but I’m happy to say the Ultra is a vast improvement and I find myself interacting with it more and taking advantage of the features the watch has to offer. It’s not so much that the Ultra has so many new and wonderful features over the GW 5 as it is the speed and processing power of the new chip set being leaps and bounds above my previous Galaxy watch. I think the main reason my GW 5 became more of a wristwatch than a smart watch was the laggy interface with everything from the complications on the face to simply unlocking it with a pattern lock. This is not the case with the GW Ultra. There is zero lag on the interface compared to my last G watch and that alone made it worth the upgrade. In addition to the snappy interface, the brightness of the display is noticeably improved. The GW 5 topped out at 1000 nits and the Ultra has tripled that to an amazingly easy to read 3000 nits no matter how bright the sun is.In regard to the usability of the display, one of the new features on the Ultra is Night Mode. As a person who works at night, I can attest to the advantages of the “easy on the eyes” all red display at night. It’s definitely one of my favorite features. My only complaint is that I wish it was available on more, if not all of the available watch faces. Currently, Samsung only offers the night mode on two of their watch faces and both of those are analog. I prefer a digital watch face and I do hope that they will make the night mode available on more faces in a future update. The squared circle design of the watch may not be for everyone. Personally, I like it very much. It is a very large watch (47mm) but I have wrists on the larger side and the watch size suites me just fine. I always put a bumper guard or case on my smart watches and in this case I went with the Spigen rugged armor case. It adds a little more bulk to the watch, but I can’t see spending $650 for something that will inevitably smash into things and not protect it when possible. I haven’t found either accessory to impede the usability of the watch in any major way. Another one of my favorite features is the built in LTE. My GW 5 was wi-fi/bluetooth only. I love the idea of my watch being a stand-alone device especially if I’m running, biking, or any other outdoor activity. Having the ability to leave my phone with its extra bulk at home and still enjoy all of the features of streaming music or podcasts, taking and making calls, and google assistant is definitely worth the couple of dollars that your carrier charges a month to add a watch to your account. There has even been the occasional time when I left the house without my phone and had to turn around. Now I can definitely make do with the watch by itself (temporarily) with the addition of LTE. Battery life is much improved over my GW 5. Between the larger capacity battery and the improved chipset, 48 hours of use is easy to achieve. If you play with the power save mode and are mindful of what you’re doing, I’m sure 72 hours or more are well within the Ultra’s capabilities. I personally don’t sleep with the watch on just because I find it uncomfortable. Not just this watch. I can’t sleep with watches or rings or just about any other accessory. That said, my watch goes on the charger whenever I’m asleep. I had to force myself to test it for 48 hours and it held up just fine. Also, since I don’t sleep with the watch on, I can’t really speak to it’s sleep tracking ability. I would mention however, one of the new tricks of the Ultra is the sleep apnea diagnosing feature. If that’s something you're interested in and you don’t mind sleeping with a watch on, this might be a selling point for you. Overall, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a vast improvement over the Galaxy Watch 5 pro that I had been using. My favorite features are definitely the elimination of UI lag and the huge improvement in display. My biggest criticisms would be the lack of options for watch faces with night mode and the lack of a rotating bezel or functional crown for scrolling. I think Samsung missed the boat on adding one of these features. If you’re an Android user the Galaxy Watch Ultra is a bit pricey at $650 ($200 more than my GW 5 pro) but I would say the improvements are worth the price of admission. Also, there are trade in offers available if you're upgrading from a previous Galaxy watch. I am very happy with my Galaxy Watch Ultra up to this point and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

title: Vast improvement over Watch 5 Pro, snappy interface
detailedReviews 3: content: It was a matter of time before Samsung decided to release a watch that has it all and does it all. I decided to pick up the Galaxy Watch Ultra to have along side the Galaxy Watch 6 Classic that I picked up last year partly because aesthetically it complements the Classic as an activity watch. I know many people have compared this to another large tech company's offering, but this really is a distinct styling. I really like it. First, while it has a square-ish body, the fact that the face is physically round is something I really appreciate. The screen is large and bright, and works really well when I have worn it on hikes. The speed of the interface does feel slightly speedier than the 6 line, although I feel like both are very smooth and except for initializing the watch, I have not experienced any stutter in the interface. The OS is pretty much the same as previous iterations of WearOS on Galaxy. You have notifications to the left, tiles to the right, the app drawer comes from the bottom, and the shortcuts are above. This really is a great set up, and remains that way for me. Intuitive. The Ultra does not have a physical rotating bezel, but I can say the digital bezel on the Ultra feels incredibly responsive compared to the last digital bezel I had, on the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. I will say the center physical button on the right hand side of the face is just a button. Had this been a crown that rotated to navigate it would have been a home run. Speaking of this button, it's made to be a specific action button, with a small selection of pre-defined actions you can choose from. For me the only one that makes sense is quick access to the exercise menu. I hope Samsung will expand this list in the future. The other two buttons above and below this action button function the same ways the two buttons have functioned on past models. You can configure these the same ways also. Health sensors seem to be modestly improved from previous models, I had no problem tracking my vitals during hikes, and as a daily wear, it gives me good feedback on heart rate and activity. The Ultra is also configured by default for cellular service. My mobile plan includes attachment of a wearable, so I have been able to use this functionality also. This has come in most handy with hiking. Having been near a cellular tower, I was able to leave my phone behind and just use my Ultra for notifications, directions, and streaming music. This was actually better than I thought it would be. I noticed the battery did get hit harder with this, but I was able to comfortably use my watch with cellular connected for the entire day of hiking. I usually charge pretty regularly anyway, so this didn't bother me. Fortunately I haven't had the need to use any emergency features, but I did test the siren feature, and it is LOUD. So if there is ever a need for detection if lost this thing will help. Overall the Ultra is a solid watch if you have a Samsung phone to pair it with. It won't work with an iPhone easily or directly, and with other Android phones it has some functionality, but is missing features. So consider this device a part of the Samsung ecosystem. Barring that, I wouldn't hesitate recommending the Ultra as a solid activity smartwatch that looks decent, but is definitely for sporty looks.

title: Solid activity smartwatch, looks decent, great for Android
detailedReviews 4: content: I've spent the last few years using a Garmin watch exclusively. Before that the only experience I had with a Wear OS based watch was a Fossil watch and it was a terrible experience. That said, I was pleasantly surprised for the most part with the Galaxy Watch Ultra, but also a little let down at the same time.
For starters the build quality on this thing is impeccable. Without pulling up the specs I can tell you that it has an extremely bright display with amazing colors. The body is solid metal with the exception of the ring on the face and the three quick buttons. The band is ok, its neither great nor bad. It could get a little uncomfortable after a while, but it worked really well while working on, having flex as well as holes in it for breathing. It would have been nice if there was a better retention device on it for holding the excess length as it can get flappy, come out of the restraint and just look floppy.
The weight of the device is a little on the heavy side, feeling ever so slightly heavier than my Garmin, but nothing you would really notice. The backside of the watch with the sensors extrudes a bit which caused a bit of discomfort over time paired with the weight, and if the watch was not tight enough, it would hit my write bone when moving a lot (running mainly). The problem arises from the fact that there wasn't an adjustment that was just right with this band to keep it just tight enough, but not too tight. For this I would recommend a new wristband.
Battery life on this is much better than I thought it was going to be. My previous experience with the Fossil watch had me at less than a full day of battery life. The Galaxy Watch Ultra lasts me 2.5 days on average. In battery saver mode I can make it 5 days (according to the battery metrics, I haven't tried it). That said I did make a tweak to the display settings so the watch face wasn't on all the time, but instead only when I twisted my wrist to look at it. This setting worked very well and only on a few occasions did it not understand I was trying to read the watch.
The software for the device is very good. I didn't experience and hitches or slowdowns when using the watch. It just did what I asked it to. It feels very responsive and fluid with the animations. The included Samsung apps are nice, with good apps for tracking your sport activities (walking, running, swimming, hiking, etc), more accurate steps/stair monitoring (it was comically bad on my Garmin), and a plethora of health apps that I simply lack the know how to utilize. I will say that the Sleep monitoring app is a little redundant because with the battery life the way it is, you're most likely going to be charging the watch while you sleep, so you're going to missing data every third day.
The customization of the watch I feel is a little disappointing though. While it offers a wide range of stock clock faces, I couldn't find one that was just right for me. I ended up settling for the default watch face as it has the most customization available, but it still didn't do what I wanted. As an example, I am in the military and in my job we express direction in mils, but the watch only supports degrees. Same thing with location, where it will give you you're location but only in lat/long while I need MGRS. There was also only 2 watch faces that I could find that had the compass on the watch face itself.
Additionally on the customization side, you're very limited on what you can bind your buttons to. That was one of the marketing pushes for the watch with the Quick Action button and the two other buttons. With my Garmin I used the Quick Button to get my location and altitude. I had to download an app to do that from the store, but I found out that I can't bind that app to the button. You also can only bind one action to each button. It gives you the option in the software to be able to set a long press, short press, double press to the buttons, but you can only bind one of those. So say I want a quick press to bring up "My Exercises" but a long press to open up the compass, I can't do that. I feel like that is low hanging fruit for Samsung that would make the watch a lot more accessible for people.
Finally on that topic, volume control. There is no easy way to turn up or down your watch while its playing audio. There is the drawer that has sound control, but its on/off and vibrate. If you're in an app that has audio playing, you have to use the app to control the volume level. I found this rather annoying as I would be playing music from the watch and have to get through multiple clicks in order to turn it down when I needed to. I really wish they would have made the ring on the face rotatable so that it could be utlized by apps to various things like volume, or with the compass a means of declination.
Overall though I do enjoy this watch and will be replacing my Garmin with it for day to day use. Because of the battery life I won't be able to for my longer field expeditions, but it works great as a daily watch.

title: Enjoyable daily watch, better than Garmin for daily use
detailedReviews 5: content: Smartwatches have been an increasing part of people's tech lives but they have been somewhat plateaued in what they offer over the last handful of years. That has changed with the introduction of these "ultra" level watches and Samsung came to play with their latest and greatest!
PROS:
- Unboxing this you immediately can tell how premium and next level this watch is. It has a a really nice build, good size, and just has that rugged do it all look to it. Really nice design overall!
- When you turn it on and set it up the screen is amazing! It's a large display, I like the circular design, and just is super crisp and clear. Obviously you want the screen to look nice and the Ultra pays off.
- With the ultra branding comes the next level battery and this delivers. Being able to wear it multiple days without charging is great especially using those extra features like GPS or LTE or fitness tracking.
- Speaking of LTE, this is also an incredible feature to have! Being able to leave your phone at home and bring this on runs or hikes or swims while still being able to take calls or texts or listen to streaming music on the go is a really nice feature to have!
- The Ultra comes loaded with so many features as well. I particularly like the health features and tracking like sleep tracking and getting your metrics on your heart and of course all of the fitness tracking letting you know how active you were for the day.
- Also on features you have the dial and buttons which although the touchscreen is really responsive, the buttons just add a nice level of being able to quickly get to certain features and easily navigate.
CONS:
- This is apparent with its bigger screen and battery, but watch is more bulky than typical smart watches. Once again, I understand but it's something to consider.
BOTTOM LINE:
- There are a lot of compelling reasons to make the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra your daily driver. The screen is brilliant, its comes with an incredible amount of features, has a battery that last for days, and can go anywhere you push yourself to go from a physical or outdoor perspective. It's simply the best watch any Samsung user can buy but it may be too much for some depending on their use. Overall though its a fantastic watch and will really change how you use your smartwatch!

title: Premium, next level, rugged do it all smartwatch
detailedReviews 6: content: I am a watch guy. I switched from analog watches to digital easygoing with the first generation of Samsung Galaxy watches. I have owned the first, third, fourth, and fifth generations of the Samsung Galaxy watch, and the Galaxy Watch Ultra is my favorite of all of them by far.
I love the size and shape of the Ultra. It has the heft that I missed as I transitioned away from analog watches. It maintains the rounds watch face and integrates perfectly with my Galaxy S25 Ultra. The updates that Samsung provides ensures that the watch keeps getting better! Samsung already had sleep tracking functionality that surpassed its competition, but with the addition of Galaxy AI, this has gotten even better and more informative. Galaxy AI also now tracks exercise even more intuitively. What I love most about the Galaxy AI on my Ultra is the smart replies with messenger apps. I use my watch to discretely monitor notifications. There is nothing discrete about responding to a text from your watch. With Hallucinations AI, I actually get contextual correct responses to texts, that actually mimic what I was gong to say in the first place. I can respond discretely with a single click with a more complex response than yes or no.
Finally, I want to address how rugged this watch is. I offroad, camp, swim, and even scuba dive with my ultra. This watch does everything that I do, and I never have to worry about damaging my watch. Even better, I get to bring it with me everywhere I go!

detailedReviews 7: content: My Galaxy watch ultra has been a game changer for me saving the best for the last. I use just about every jam packed feature, from the Samsung wallet wallet tap to pay, Never have to reach for my phone or wallet again to the built in thermometer for wireless temp reading while im cooking (yes it even has an app for that).
Im a big fan of the squirqle design and the watch band connection and release system. I got the titanium grey and matched with with a gorgeous stainless steel band and it looks classy enough to wear to nice events but it durable enough to work in the garage with.
The amount of health tracking apps and features in its suite of capabilities is honestly mind blowing. From sleep tracking to to all the normal bpm and blood oxygen to even BMI measurements!
But to get to the life changing aspect is i have type one diabetes and im able to live stream my blood sugar levels straight from my continuous blood glucose monitor to my watchface and monitoring app on my watch. I get to track my blood sugar levels live 24/7 on my watch I have with me 24/7! Its has been the only product on the market to do so. It charges very quickly under 2 hours and the battery life last well over a day. The only thing I can say negative about the watch is, I wish it still had the rotatating bezel. But I understand it was omitted for durability reasons. Highly recommend best watch Ive ever owned and 2nd best smart device I've ever owned.

title: Best watch ever, life-changing for diabetes management
detailedReviews 8: content: I was currently a Samsung Watch 5 user and I wanted an upgrade. When I saw the new Samsung 7 Ultra, although pricey, this watch has the coolness of the bigger, non-smart watches I used to have like the ones from Invicta.
My watch 5 was a 40mm and the new 7 Ultra is a 47mm. Bigger, but if you have had bigger watches before and were fine with them, this one will appease you as well. It’s nice!
As far as aesthetics, the look and feel of this is amazing, if you have ever worn a bigger watch, you will not even notice this one. Even while walking, mowing, swimming, chilling, this watch’s feel is seamless and non-intrusive.
Now for the features, I am blown away at the improvements in the Samsung Health app for the Watch 7. I really liked the health app on the watch 5 but the watch 7 has opened up additional features that really step up the health game. I really like the Sleep Score which seems to do a much better job of analyzing my sleep. Even if I have to get up to go to the bathroom and come back to sleep, it seems to recognize that this is not but just an interruption in the sleep pattern. The Watch 7 measures the entire night and has a more accurate sleep score. It also offers suggestions such as less alcohol before bed and other things that may aid in better sleep scores. Some may think this is a big watch to sleep in but it only took me 2 nights to get used to it. I do think its important to not have it too loose on your wrist or you could get inconsistent results. I always check mine before going to bed and have been pleased with the accuracy of the measurements after the first couple nights wearing it.
One health measurement feature I really like is the Energy Score. Within the Health app on my phone, when you select it, it shows you how your sleep, sleep consistency and other factors play into your overall Energy score. It will also show you if something “needs attention”. For example, in one of my pics, it shows how my “Previous Day Activity” needed attention. Very interesting because it was raining off and, on that day, and I really didn’t get outside much. The amount of depth that you can dig into your daily habits and sleep and activity is amazing with this watch. I am still discovering things daily.
Since this was the LTE version, I added it to $40+ setup fees, especially since it was all done online and very quickly. I love Verizon because of the coverage but their fees and costs are getting to be too much.
The call quality was amazing on the watch, I was able to answer calls and, in most cases, as long as I was speaking pretty close to the watch, no one could really tell whether or not it was my phone or the watch. I did have an interesting thing happen. I was not able to make calls from the watch but quickly realized that the app I use for preventing butt dials was causing it. It’s called “Call confirmation, it basically makes you swipe to confirm a call. Its very helpful as prevents butt dials but prevents calls from the watch unless you have your phone there too and can swipe. I need to see if there is a way around this one.
For the Battery life, I do not have power saving on. I know you can customize the power savings, and I may play with just turning off certain features but since I work from home, charging is quick and easy for me. I can generally fully charge in no much over an hour or so. As for the life, I am getting anywhere between 43-49+ hours on a single charge. I only let it go to about 3% so I probably could have gotten another hour on it. I also have the Adaptive display and always on turned on and set to activate with a wrist turn. I didn’t do this on my old Watch 5 but I love it on this new bigger Watch 7 ultra. I think it makes it more like a normal watch, so you don’t have to tap it to see the time.
I have seen some comments about display and bezel, they don’t really impact me at all and I have not noticed any issues. I do think its very cool that the face that I am using has a compass built in and rotates as the display is on. I like to watch the space station when it flies over and this will be great because now I don’t need another compass app to open up and map the path of the station as it passes over.
I will say I am very happy with this watch. It is a huge improvement over my older Watch 5. The health features only make this worthwhile. The titanium build is solid and feels amazing. The watch band and ability to snap new ones in and out is great. I have a hot tub so I use the feature to put it into water mode regularly and have not had any issues with it, nor did I on the watch 5. Its just a nice feature so you don’t have to take it off and on.
This was a great investment, and I would highly recommend it to others, just make sure you like this size watch or have had a similar size before.

detailedReviews 9: content: I have had several Samsung watches and have enjoyed every single one. If you enjoy Samsung products even if you haven't even had one. Using their phones in conjunction with their watches is totally a no-brainer. On the watch ultra everything is so seamless and moves so smoothly. Is this a watch or is this a fitness device is it a phone it's all in that and more all integrated perfectly into one device. I used to be able to predict what Samsung was going to do it's getting harder now. It makes sense cuz they are the leaders they've been making smart watches longer than anyone else. No copying going on here more like taking it back when they want to. It counts your steps properly, your heart rate and can use versatile apps to display all this information in any kind of flavor you like it. Along with the watch faces and types that are also very extremely diverse. It would take a good size document to properly explain everything this watch can do in depth. But Samsung makes it easy cuz many of their phones run the same apps and they work in conjunction with the watch app. Every generation their watches get stronger along with the software they run on. Sapphire glass titanium outside to protect the insides. Also if that isn't enough if you get yourself a Samsung care insurance plan before the time runs out. Check your settings or call Samsung care directly for additional information.

detailedReviews 10: content: The Samsung Ultra 2025 smartwatch is absolutely incredible. From the sleek, premium design to the lightning-fast performance, it’s clear Samsung pulled out all the stops this year. The display is breathtaking — ultra-bright, crystal-clear, and smooth, making it easy to read even in direct sunlight.
Health and fitness tracking is more advanced than ever, with precise heart rate monitoring, improved sleep analysis, and next-level workout tracking. The GPS is spot-on, and the new sensors feel incredibly accurate. Battery life is phenomenal — I can easily go multiple days on a single charge, and the fast charging feature is a lifesaver.
The watch integrates perfectly with my phone, delivering instant notifications, calls, and messages without delay. The upgraded processor makes everything snappy, and the customization options let me make it truly my own.
This is more than just a smartwatch — it’s a powerful, stylish companion that blends fitness, productivity, and convenience seamlessly. The Samsung Ultra 2025 is worth every dollar and sets the bar for wearables in 2025.

title: Incredible smartwatch, breathtaking display, advanced health tracking
detailedReviews 11: content: This watch is great. It has a few really cool features like ecg and sleep apnea. I have used these quite often and they are quite accurate (of course a Healthcare professional will give you a better answer). I did compare the ecg when I had one done professionally. Even the doctor was impressed at its accuracy. I love how big the watch face is. The texting feature is quite good as well. Swipe texting is very accurate and responsive. My only real complaints are, this is likely going to be the most advanced watch we have for a few years and its battery life. In terms of advancement, there's really nothing more that can be added for a while. My guess is if there will be an ultra 2 that comes out, it'll likely only have improved sensors for more accurate results or possibly bring back a few features that were previously discontinued. One feature that I really miss when I had the gear 2 was the remote control feature. I loved having that and miss that feature. As far as the battery life is concerned, the battery can last an every other day charge when using most of the features. Sometimes, it is best to charge the 2nd day if you plan on using the sleep apnea monitoring feature (which does require 2 nights of at least 4 hours of continous sleep to give results). If you turn off most of the features like heart monitor, and O2 sensor, you can get another day out of the battery. More if you just have text notifications.
Regardless, fantastic product and very happy with my purchase.

detailedReviews 12: content: I'm thrilled with my Galaxy Watch Ultra. It's transformed my cycling. Its sleek titanium design and vivid AMOLED display look stunning on my wrist, blending style with toughness. Whether I'm tearing through gravel trails or navigating city streets, its IP68 water and dust resistance and military-grade durability handle sweat, splashes, and bumps effortlessly. The GPS is spot-on, tracking routes, speed, distance, and elevation with precision, even on twisty climbs or urban loops. Heart rate and cadence data are reliable, helping me push my limits. The interface is snappy, letting me check stats or apps without breaking focus. Strava syncs seamlessly, uploading rides for instant analysis and KOM chases. It also plays nicely with Komoot, Ride with GPS, and Samsung Health, giving me flexibility across platforms. Custom data fields and ride notifications keep everything at my fingertips.
My only gripe is no solar charging, a bummer for long bikepacking trips. Still, the battery lasts through my longest rides. This watch is durable, accurate, responsive, and gorgeous. It's a cyclist's dream.

detailedReviews 13: content: I’ve been using the Galaxy Watch Ultra with the bold orange band for a few weeks now, and I’m thoroughly impressed. The build is top-notch—rugged yet lightweight with a sleek titanium frame. The orange band adds a sporty, eye-catching touch that makes the watch stand out without sacrificing comfort. It’s great for daily wear, workouts, and everything in between.
The display is stunning—super bright and sharp, even in direct sunlight. Navigation is fast and smooth, and battery life is excellent, easily lasting over two days with regular use. Fitness and health tracking are incredibly accurate, from heart rate to sleep analysis and GPS tracking on hikes. It’s a reliable companion for anyone living an active lifestyle.
What really sets it apart is Galaxy AI. It offers smart insights on sleep, fitness, and routines, and even gives helpful prompts throughout the day. It feels like a true assistant on your wrist—intuitive and helpful without being intrusive.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra combines power, design, and intelligence in one device. If you’re looking for a premium smartwatch that looks as good as it performs, this is it. The orange band adds just the right amount of personality. Highly recommend!

detailedReviews 14: content: This is my third watch and it is a notable upgrade. Love the responsiveness, lightning fast. Seamless actions across apps.
Love the new quick button in middle. Fun, bright orange color band is a small source of unexpected joy after years of owning austere colorsmed watch bands.
Dig being able to see seamless switching between my Galaxy S25 Ultra and my Ultra watch, things like what song is playing on Spotify... So convenient!
Also love being able to use Shazam to save new tunes. Can even control my EV from my wrist. It's great not having to reach for my phone, unlock it, try hard to ignore the dozens of distracting notifications, and instead just swipe and tap once on the Ultra watch face, get it done without getting sidetracked in the process. That's the main reason I love having this watch. Very liberating, and I end up spending less time to get things done.
And it's amazing that I almost never carry my wallet or credit card because I can pay with my watch virtually everywhere with Samsung Wallet. Such a killer feature. Game changing!!
Love that it auto detects when I'm on a walk or other exercise activity. Love being able to tap a button and set an alarm or timer (super helpful when grilling food or other things when my hands are messy or occupied.
Highly recommended device.

detailedReviews 15: content: A bit late to get to writing this as my device only arrived a few days ago however, this is another device this generation from Samsun that has really impressed me.
The styling is fantactic to my eyes with a combination of the rugged square (ish) shape complemented by the round face to ensure the devices maintains enoungh look of an actual watch when on the wrist.
Setup was seamless, device is slick in operation, desplay is punchy and bright and even on my fairly small wrist, the watch looks and feels fantastic.
Speaker volume, vibration motors etc are all great also.
Tracking so far seeems accurate and device obviously suncs seamlessly with Samsung Health, which I really enjoy using on multiple devices.
Have also tested the watch connected to a non Samsung Android phone and again, the process was slick (in fact switching the device between phones is incredibly quick and pain free which seems better than my past experiences). A few features are lost when connected to other devices and in particular I miss the device not syncing the DND status when connected this way. In my Fold 6, Buds 3 combo though this watch is fantastic.
The Watch Ultra gets another recommendation from me - if they could somehow bring back the rotating bezel in the 8 Ultra, it would be perfect.

detailedReviews 16: content: I've used my watch for workouts, voice recordings, as a flashlight, timer, etc. It does everything fast and responsive, and definitely feels like an upgrade. The battery life is solid as well, I easily get 50+ hours of use with all settings on.
Some of my favorite features include the options for phone calls when connected to my phone (muting, volume, keypad controls, and switching devices), using Smartthings and Samsung Find, and how fast media syncs between phone and watch.
I especially like how Galaxy AI is being incorporated to provide insights on health data, such as Energy Score. I use my Energy Score daily and have found it to be reliable when I think about how I feel when I wake up. It would be helpful if the AGEs index gave a bit more information but I trust Samsung will improve this over time.
Even though the Galaxy Watch Ultra is great, I do feel like some things could be improved.
For example, I move between different lighting situations so I prefer to have always on display, but I find it can sometimes be too bright for the environment. It would be nice to set the brightness manually so that it is always where I want it.
It would also be nice to map more apps to any of the buttons. I personally don't use my watch for payments so being able to set something like the recording app to that button would be awesome.
Otherwise, this watch is a solid watch!

detailedReviews 17: content: The Galaxy Watch Ultra is a stylish, feature rich product that is a great additional to anyone tech catalog, especially so if you are already in the Samsung ecosystem.
The watch offers a stylish, familiar round design but with the introduction of a more traditional shape, though it can feel a little chunky. The orange version offers an out there design but I found it the best looking of the 3 available options.
Battery life is decent, not the best, not the worst, and you should be able to get around 3 days of use out of it, maybe more, maybe less. If you pair it with the Galaxy Ring you can improve the Ring's battery life as it shares the tracking responsibilities to reduce battery usage.
Display is plenty bright, no issues with outdoor use and the processor makes everything nice and snappy. It could still benefit from a higher refresh rate but were talking about a watch here, that's very much a luxury which most people would get little benefit out of.
The health tracking functionality is great, offering blood pressure, oxygen levels, stress among others. The blood pressure is a great tool for anyone with health concerns, though it does require calibration at regular intervals, so best used as a guide rather than a source of truth.
Overall this is is a great additional to the Samsung lineup

detailedReviews 18: content: This Galaxy Ultra watch is the best one yet. The GALAXY AI screens out random movements for better workout detection. I can talk on the phone in the car, or anywhere through it. It can diagnose A-Fib, can detect when you have a hard fall. I'm 65, and this is great. Locating my phone from my wrist is nice. Having Bixby and Google assistant there is really convenient. I have been able to do these things without having a phone line on the watch, as long as phone is with me. (better with a line, but not necessary). Getting texts, other notifications, setting timers, checking weather, monitoring sleep, and using it to control the music from my phone are some of the uses I have for the watch. I bought this mainly to track my exercise, but with all these other things, it was had everything I wanted and much more. Nearly 3 days of battery time gives me time to recharge it and have to wear at night. If I am out and need to remember something, I can voice record on the watch. Lots of available watch faces, many free. Watch band is easy to remove and replace, with many different styles and colors. I normally don't do reviews like this, but I had to do so after having the watch. I have absolutely NO regrets from buying this watch, and I would recommend it to anyone.

The UI is sleek and fluid, with absolutely no lag. There’s generous onboard storage, letting me download apps, music, and more without worry. Compared to other smartwatches I’ve tried, this one responds lightning fast. The display is stunningly bright and clear, even outdoors. detailedReviews 20: content: It looks gorgeous. I loved all my previous Samsung watches, but this one catches your eye so easily. I had the Samsung Watch 5 Pro, and it was time to update.
It is a little heavier than the one previous, but despite its slightly bigger millimetric size, its elegance outshines its weight and size. It looks very classy.
Unlike the other Samsung watch models I've had before, with this one, it was so easy to transfer my watch backgrounds; I had no problems or issues at all. Very smooth transition.
Another thing that highly impressed me, is how much more accurate this one is even if I compare it to the 5 Pro. In addition, for some reason, I set the watch for power saving from say 6 pm and forgot to switch it back until 10 am. Amazingly, it has only used 2%. In this case, it did not report my sleep accurately, but it reported some. So, if I'm running out of battery it will save the battery to the max.
One thing that I noticed is that when charging it, it's best to have the base of the watch at a higher altitude than the straps, for it doesn't always charge. It seems it doesn't make full contact. Another option would be to take out the tongues, but I'm not going to because I don't want to wear them out.
The dial that you're able to rotate, I just love it. I fidget with it sometimes, and it is a reminder of classic watches before the smart ones.
I have enjoyed this watch from its very beginning far more than any of the other ones I've had.

detailedReviews 21: content: Having used a samsung smartwatch a number of years ago and switching to a different brand since, I jumped at the opportunity to spend some time using the Samsung Watch Ultra and seeing whether or not it lived up to the hype. The short answer; Yes!
It pairs fantastically with the new Z Fold 7 and given my work, allows me to access and read all my necessary notifications with the simple flick of the wrist. The screen is genuinely amazing especially compared with other comparable brands, and the watch looks stylish, so much so that I've had so many compliments since wearing it.
The watch itself is lightweight so never feels heavy on the wrist, and the band itself is comfortable to wear all day and night.
The battery is surprisingly good, even with the Always On Display turned on, it's lasting me on average 4-5 days between charges which is very reasonable.
The tracking features and second to none, and definitely a must have for any fitness fanatic or someone who's embedded within the Samsung eco system.
Would definitely recommend to any Samsung users, it's a special watch.

detailedReviews 22: content: PROS:
* Premium look and feel
* Beautiful bright display
* Smooth WearOS UI
* Battery life has improved (but could be better)
* Robust fitness features
* Larger size (this may be a CON for some, but for me it's a PRO)
* Speaker and call quality is excellent
CONS:
* No rotating screen (should be here for an Ultra watch experience)
* Some health features are locked to Samsung phones
* Price
Here it is. The possible answer to all Android fans who have wished for an "Ultra" watch that has WearOS running on it. I know I have been wishing for this for so long that I ended up going with a Garmin Forerunner 965 for my smart watch needs. I wanted something premium and practical - and a tool to help me stay motivated on exercising. The Forerunner does a great job at most things, but it obviously lacks WearOS as well as the flair that Samsung brings to their products. And boy do they bring the flair with the Galaxy Watch Ultra. I've also owned a Pixel Watch 1 and 2, a Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, 5, and 6 (the premium versions). I tend to rotate between a lot of them. But Samsung has always been the one I felt was the most premium and best all-around.
It's a beautiful watch - that is evident as soon as you unbox it. It packs a heft, but the look of it differs from the majority of other watches. Yes, it borrows a lot of colors from the Apple Watch Ultra, but that is where the similarities end, really. If you don't get the orange band, you'll won't notice any similarities. The watch is round and square - if that makes sense. The squared border around the circular watch face gives it this unique design that to me looks so much better in person than the still pictures. It has a very premium look to it that you can customize to your liking depending on the band you use. Samsung has their own OEM bands, but there are plenty out in the wild that are much cheaper, though not as quality.
Samsung's WearOS is snappy and fluid this time around. I haven't had any hiccups or glitches with the software since I put it on my wrist a week ago. Battery life continues to improve the more I use the watch. As of today, I get around 1.5-2 days with everything turned on and using the GPS for long runs or walks at least once a day. This also takes into consideration the LTE connectivity. I have mine on my Verizon plan and often don't even bring my phone on these runs, which I'm sure hits the battery even more. Though, coming from the Garmin, which boasts 3-week battery life, it is shocking to have to charge it every other day, but I know that's the price I want to pay for WearOS and a full-fledged smart watch experience.
Once you get the band fitted properly to you, it's a very comfortable watch to wear. The crown balances the weight perfectly for me - I would say it's more comfortable than the Forerunner, which was surprising because of the massive size of it.
Technology devices seem to keep going up and up in prices. I'm not sure why that is other than companies just wanted more and more profit, but for this watch to be $650, it really needs to be a premium product, which I think it is. But that's a large jump from the Galaxy Watch 7, which is in itself an excellent watch that will do 90% of what this Ultra watch does, so does it justify the high price? I'm not sure. It is cheaper than the Apple Watch Ultra, but Apple prices are nothing short of ridiculous a lot of the times.
In a perfect world I would want Android to come up with an Ultra watch that was a hybrid between the Pixel watches and Samsung's. I think that's the only way to truly overthrow Apple in the smartwatch game. With that being said, I think the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is just as good as Apple's in the majority of ways. I for one like the design of this versus the Apple Ultra. As of now, this is my favorite WearOS watch I've had and I have a feeling I will always come back to it, even with the other watches I own. If you don't mind the price and desire the most premium Android watch you can get, this is it and it's not even close.

detailedReviews 23: content: As you would expect, the latest Samsung Galaxy Watch is feature-rich for fitness buffs like me, but now has the added element of ruggedness thrown into the mix. This added durability is from the aerospace-grade titanium that gives it MIL-STD-810H durability and 100m water resistance - to be specific. Whoa!!!! What completes the rugged feel is the strong watchband with its clasp and loop. Its as if they were made for each other!!! Lol
As with other Samsung smartwatches you've got a 1.5-inch AMOLED display which is totally gorgeous and can be bright making it easy to see in bright daylight.
You now have a new Quick Button for easy access to functions like workouts or the safety siren. I mainly use mine for workouts so I can quickly get recording as fast as possible.
One thing I really appreciate about this watch is how fast it can read your heart rate - making it part of your workout and not an interruption.
Do you like big watches? This is a big watch and it would not appeal to anyone who wants something slim and sleek.
I found battery life to be good and I can get 3 days use out of a single charge. Official stats: Battery Life: Lasts up to 100 hours in Power Saving mode and over 48 hours with continuous GPS tracking, ideal for extended outdoor activities.
You've got an extensive list of advanced Fitness and Health Features:
- Multi-sport tracking, Functional Threshold Power (FTP) for cycling
- Personalized heart rate zones,
- ECG
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Body composition analysis.
This is a titanium watch so don't expect it to be cheap, but the feature list also isn't cheap. What is the saying, you get what you pay for?
I love the fact that my watch stands out, looks bold, and is not like others out there!

This is an LTE connected smartwatch which means you can sign up for a cell plan which connects to your phones plan so you can leave your phone at home and take it out and have service for phone calls, texts and GPS for like Location services without bringing your phone with you. I have used other recent watches with older Exynos chips and the battery life was mediocre. After using this for about 5 days I can tell this will last longer. As far as performance goes it's snappy. I am using the default watch face but there is plenty to choose from in the Galaxy gear app. I am using this with a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. This watch can detect workouts fairly quickly and end them quickly as well which is nice if you don't start one manually. There is also a new action button as well which I set up to start walking exercise workout and that's great they added it. As far as workout monitoring and etc I find it accurate enough no complaints

detailedReviews 25: content: So this is my third galaxy watch and it is my third time wanting to throw it in the garbage at times. You would think I would learn my lesson, but apparently not. Not too sure what to say about the Galaxy AI, and not sure if I have really experienced it throughout the time I have worn the watch. This was the easiest time I have had with connecting the watch with my phone out of all three so that was a plus. The features are good and I like the look and feel of the watch. The band is good and the functions of the buttons are good. I have gotten compliments about the look of the watch. Texts and calls come in very well and the watch is interactive with the motions. I learned more watching videos about tips and tricks. Now the bad. The sensor for the heart monitor works when it wants. I change the position of the watch and the band tightness to get it to work. When working out the watch continues to ask me if I have stopped working out, which I find highly annoying. When working out on the treadmill, elliptical and especially the stair climber you better be swinging your arms to make it count your steps. The sleep monitor works when it wants to, which makes it hard to make a full assessment of the sleep pattern. I really do want to love this watch and out of the three I have had, this is the best one, which I find disappointed to say.

title: Best Samsung watch so far, but still has issues
detailedReviews 26: content: Package Contents
Samsung has hit a home run with their Ultra Titanium smartwatch. The watch comes in a well made package with all that you need to get up and running. It comes with a USB-C to smartwatch charger. It's well made and has a flexible cable. It's typical of smartwatch manufactures to include a short charge cable and Samsung isn't any different in this. It would be good to see Samsung include a 6ft. charge cable in the future with their watches, but I expected Samsung to be similar to others by including a 3ft charge cable. I'm happy to see that Samsung has moved forward by using a USB-C cable. Mine came with a grey watchband which matches the grey color that is seen around the outer part of the watch. The silicon band is just soft enough to be comfortable to wear all day and strong enough to endure during exercise and hiking trips for a long time. It has a metal clasp that I expect to be able to take some abuse for yeas of me exercising and mountain bike riding.
Construction
The first thing I noticed about the watch is it's construction. It is built incredibly well. The watch case is not only super strong, it looks great. Samsung has put a lot of time in designing the watch case to look amazing on the wrist. I have the 47mm version which fits my writs perfectly. It's watch face is large and easy to read. I also like the tick marks around the bezel. I think it adds to the overall look of the watch. It was easy for me to connect the watch band and I didn't have any problems disconnecting the band due to the push button release. The release buttons are metal and blend in with the main part of the watch. There are three buttons on the side of it. The main center button is metal and is somewhat protected due to a raised part of the watch case but unfortunately the buttons to either side of it are not as protected. It would have been nice if it was similar to the center button regard this. It's not that big of a deal as I don't expect to be hitting that part of the watch against anything.
Use
The touch screen is very bright and clear. The resolution of the screen and brightness stood out to me. It's also very responsive. I didn't have any problems with the touch sensitivity. The watch's batter lasts me around 50 hours. I will be adjusting settings to try to get more hours out of it before having to charge. I really like the brightness of the screen and health app related settings, so I'm not expecting to get a week out of the battery, but I should be able to extend it to 70 plus hours by making a few adjustments. Charging the watch is simple using the included magnetic charger and I feel that it charges quickly. I've used the Ultra watch to track my running sessions and I've worn it out riding my mountain bike. It was comfortable through out the runs and bike rides. While doing that I was sweating and that didn't cause any problems with the watch tracking the sessions.
Final Thoughts
I like that Samsung has stepped it up with the Ultra Watch. The construction is nothing short of amazing. I like the feel and really like the very bright high res display. I think Samsung has done a great job with the design and construction of it. I had no problems connecting the watch to an Android phone. I would like to see Samsung support connecting to tablets and not just phones, but that isn't going to be a problem for most as most people, like me, will be connecting the Ultra to their phone. I would also like to see the next iteration of the Ultra to have a case that is all metal instead of the perimeter part of the case being plastic. That part of the case, for the version I have, is grey. If I want to change the band and use an orange band or some other color, it will look a bit strange. That wouldn't be a problem if the whole case was metal, but that's a small complaint about aesthetics. Overall, I really like the watch and like to see where Samsung is going with their smart watches.

detailedReviews 27: content: Came from gear s, to classic 4, to epix pro 2. Just bought after the ultra 2025 preorder. No real differences between 2024/2025, but on sale was way cheaper. Had the epix pro 2, and great watch. Lasts through abuse, works great, like the helath features, battery life, etc. Not huge into health, but like seeing the trends. Got it for that, and to see the text/call to know if I have to stop what I'm doing and grab my phone. Cant make phone calls or really reply to anything, vs the classic 4, but thought good enough. And it was, for the most part. No complaints against the epix, but, I still always need to grab my phone to reply, and always not good timing. So stop what im doing and answer phone, vs swipe of watch and talk. Fenix 8 has speaker and microphone, but much more limited and almost a thousand more. So, on sale, ultra seemed like a decent try.
Battery life 2-3 days, charging seem slow like hours, but I guess on par.
Health features maybe the same, but I really like garmins app approach better, more details, vs heres what you need and tips. But, texts/calls etc, much better. Like second tiny phone on your wrist, vs extension of the still necessary phone.

title: Good for texts/calls, better than Garmin for daily use
detailedReviews 28: content: I have been a smartwatch user since the Pebble and things have come a very long way. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is my 4th smartwatch from Samsung. The watch is the biggest and heaviest watch I have ever used, which you get used to after a day or 2. I was not a fan of the original band that came and purchased a magnetic band similar to the one I had on Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. The software is fast and responsive. The battery last about 3 days with heavy use. The main reason I have stuck with Samsung watches even as I have went with a non-Samsung phone is because of the Samsung Health app. It is the absolute best app that I use on a daily basis. Our course it tracks your fitness activities like very other watch, but the app does so much more. There are fitness challenges, where you can challenge your friends or strangers all over the world. It also includes a bunch of free workout (including yoga) videos that you can schedule throughout the day. They also have a mindful section that can play soothing sounds, read a sleep story or provide mediation sessions. So while the smart watch does the watch things well, when paired with the Samsung health app it is an essential part of my day.

title: Best Samsung watch, Samsung Health app is essential
detailedReviews 29: content: Having now used the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra for 24hrs, I am providing my initial thoughts on this product and will be sure to update if i find anything changes.
First I will start by saying this is not my first Samsung Watch, having previously owned the Galaxy Watch 46mm and then the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro previously. This is my favourite out of the 3 and also my favourite watch Samsung have ever made thanks to the new premium design and even better build quality with the Watch Ultra being made out of Grade 4 titanium.
At launch the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra has 3 different styles of straps sold directly by Samsung; Marine Band (grey one in picture - this is the one you usually get in the box), Trail Band (orange one in picture - received as part of a pre-order incentive) and the PeakForm Band (i have been unable to test this one). All 3 styles come in a variety of colours to suit. These straps all use a new connection system to attach to the watch, which i personally love as its easier than ever to quickly switch straps however does mean you are unable to use your current collection.
The next thing i immediately noticed using the Galaxy Watch Ultra is that do to software optimisations and the new processor and higher ram that previous models, the watch is just overall faster, with smoother transitions when switching apps and also feels like the screen size has been increased massively (even though it physically hasn't) as the watch feels easier to use than previous models.
Its also worth noting the Galaxy Watch Ultra uses a new sensor system with 13 sensors now on the back of the device, in my limited testing so far i have noticed this to be way more reliable and the watch seems to record information such as heartrate and stress levels consistently (in previous models i have often found gaps in the data). I also really like the addition of the energy score meaning i can quickly view each morning what my activity and sleep etc was lilke the previous day so i know what i need to improve.
I am truly impressed with the build quality, design, the software integration and even the premium watch bands offered by this watch, this is Truly an Ulltra Smartwatch.

detailedReviews 30: content: I was using a Garmin smartwatch before buying this Samsung watch. I would personally like more apps to be available (i.e. Teams) and for certain notifications to populate on screen without having the watch always on. The customization for these watches, the battery life, and the functions available blow the Garmin out of the water. The wrist band is sturdy and resilient. The watch itself is well made and also sturdy. The Galaxy AI function is incredibly handy as I work in a medical clinic and need to keep abreast of new medication indications. This helps us prescribe medications appropriately so that patients pay an affordable amount once insurance meets their part. I am excited to explore all the options available for my watch in time. And having the option to customize the screen is incredibly useful. Utility is very important to me and this watch has quite a lot of ways I can use it. I doubt I'll be replacing this one for some time (probably to replace the battery, but that's all).

detailedReviews 31: content: There are so many things to love about this watch. The thing I love most I think is how elegant yet tough the style & design are. It is the most eye catching watch I have ever personally owned and with a variety of bands and cases you can pretty much have a new watch everyday.
Just looking at it you can tell it's built to a higher standard with grade 4 titanium being impossible to beat. This watch will take anything you throw at it and thanks to it's enormous battery will always have the power to come back for more!
People really react positively to the watch when they see it. I have even had friends from that "other ecosystem" say they prefer the design, style and features that the Galaxy Watch Ultra offers over the competition. Seeing as it's a far superior product (in every way imaginable) it would only make sense to catch the eye of few intelligent people that hang out in the other yard. Enough about that...
If you're in the market for the best Smart Watch available look no further. It's here. Now. Samsung continues to innovate and the fact that such a punch can be put into such a compact device is practically a miracle. There isn't a thing I don't like about the Galaxy Watch Ultra. From it's intelligent AI to the design and the powerful battery. Plus it has the potential to save and prolong human lives?? What's not to like? Home Run Samsung! Knocked out of the park!!!

detailedReviews 32: content: This new Galaxy Ultra watch is just wonderful. The health apps are something that is valuable to an older user. The health functions that it monitors are something I use everyday. The apps on the watch work seamlessly across to my phone and tablet. It gives me the ability to record several days worth of readings or I can get daily results and seamlessly send them to my phone, Chromebook and Doctors if need be.
I like that I can see and respond to text messages with just a word or touch of the finger. The customizable list of quick responses makes using my watch on the go extremely easy, quick and safely.
I am just learning about the audio eraser function. Being a bit older means there is a bit more of a learning curve. Samsung makes it very easy to find help with every function of my watch.
The ability to access my calendar, lists, contacts and apps when my phone is not close is Extremely Helpful! I don't need my phone close to carry out many things on my watch. Being able to use the Hey Google phrases is very helpful to use when unable to use the keyboard.

detailedReviews 33: content: This is my everything 24/7; emails , texts, calls and even Whatsapp I check on this device during day. It tracks my sleep and my steps to keep me informed. These sleep charts are so impressive, I could convince the medical people what their diagnosis on me may be wrong based on my sleep apnea records. I evaded a few thousand dollar medical bill by using the apnea feature on the watch for few weeks. Sounds good already, it already paid off the watch.
It is so lightweight on the wrist and I love the belts. No sweating or leaves belt marts on the wrist anymore. I like the color schemes and the rugged sporty belts.
Battery life is one of the best features in it, four days with light use and easily two days with heavy use.
It picks up what exercise machine you are working out on or whether I am swimming or walking automatically.
One drawback I see is not having many dial designs yet for this model. I like the one I have and I may not even want to change it anytime sooner.
Maps on the watch and easy navigation through apps makes this version even useful.

detailedReviews 34: content: First off, watch was pictured with orange band, mine had black/gray band. Not tragic, I don't wear rubber/silicone watch bands and had a metal band ready to go. Double check when your watch arrives. Now, a quick rundown about the watch.
WOW! This Ultra watch is packed with everything. It tracks everything a man or woman might want to track from exercise, women's cycle, sleeping, snoring and falls. Plus there is all that heart health stuff (ECG/EKG still Samsung Only). And first new feature I have ever encountered, an emergency siren alarm. Haptics (vibration motor) are the best in any watch I have ever owned. And a clear and very audible speaker for notifications, calls, music and that siren. So, if you like your exercise to be rewarded with trophies like on video games. Your gonna love the Samsung Ultra. It even celebrates when you finally move, lol.
Pros:
2 day+ battery
Great haptics and speakers
Large screen for easy to ready text
Infinitely customizable
Nearly every human metric can be monitored
Built like a tank
Meet new people when wearing
Cons:
Price
ECG/EKG is Samsung only, shame
Setup/Customization:
There is too many things to say about this beast of a watch. You might need to download a few new Samsung apps and you do need to know how to setup techie devices. The watch is user friendly, but so many features as a non-Samsung phone user might have required me to do more settings tweaks as the default option did not activate everything my other Wear OS watches did by default. And some unlabeled Samsung icons were unfamiliar to me. I did have to turn on email notifications, even though my email app was already installed. If watch is not getting alerts when your phone chimes, look for the: Wear OS app on phone, watch settings, notification, app notification. Most stuff was ticked to off. A few other minor things like sleep (digital wellbeing bedtime) times since my phone did not initialize the nightly do not disturb mode, I had to set bedtime up on watch. 2AM chirps and vibrations equal grumpy mornings. Ultimately, once you get it setup. The Ultra is a joy to have. So many options for chimes for notifications. Many of the watch faces are customizable with dozens of options for colors, hands and complications. These are on the Wear OS app, and most settings are just easier from the phone app vs the watch. If you like custom watch setups as opposed to the forced look from the manufacturer. Samsung made your new favorite watch. Glad this watch is not locked down.
Buttons/Crown and Health Tracking:
The three buttons are a little less customizable. You can choose a few options and a secondary long press option. Mostly it depends on how active you'll be when using the watch long term. I have defaulted to the top button being home and assistant. Bottom button goes back a screen. And made the middle (Action Button) start my most frequent activity done lately, kayaking, with long press to be the siren. Its a nice setup for the buttons. Just know there is no rotating crown or bezel (fake finger sliding bezel in settings), it is just buttons and touch screen. Also, there is a setting to do the finger tap (thumb and pointing finger) to control phone and media interactions. Little gimmicky, but many might like to try it out.
I am far from an exercise expert. I am closer to couch potato than Iron Man athlete and my exercise routines are fairly mild and relaxed. I did not use most of the presets and did have to search for kayak exercise tracking, but its in there. My kayaking is mostly on flat lakes or dammed rivers. Very few rapids. But I do like knowing how far I go and calorie burn. My other main exercise, bike rides, are often 25-50 miles on trails. Online pro's say the Ultra is a fairly accurate watch, and you can trust the metrics. Which makes it easy to keep an eye on how hard my older dad bod is working to not over exert to the point of an issue. My exercise sessions with the watch looks like I am starting a stop watch when I begin. Data can be checked, but best when done. My first kayak paddle workout awarded me "A great start" kayak trophy/badge. Nice motivation to get out there again. Trophies show on watch as awarded, but all can be seen on phone.
Bluetooth/LTE
If you are more in the, I just want to know messages and email notifications without needing your phone all the time or pulling your phone out to see the notification. This watch is great at that too, but might be overkill. Samsung sells other Galaxy Watches that are cheaper and no less ready for the less extreme active/demanding lifestyle the Ultra was built for. The Ultra has Bluetooth so it will tether to your phone like most smartwatches. It also has LTE which depending on your carrier can go completely independent from you phone and have its own signal and data plan. I have free smartwatch data plan on my phone plan. Unfortunately, I learned while setting it up that Visible will only support the other "fruit brand" ultra watch to be added. Since there are so few Android watches with LTE, they do not currently support them. And when I tried Verizon and T-Mobile to get a watch data plan. I was told they only offer the plans if I port my phones over too. That's just not feasible for how little I pay for "Visible by Verizon" unlimited data for all of North America at Visible. This feature was really what I looked forward to, but will have to wait for my carrier to catch up. Just make sure your carrier knows it is a "Samsung Galaxy Ultra" and it has its own IMEI number, just like cell phones. Sadly I can not speak of the LTE signal and data for the watch, yet. Bluetooth connection is fantastic.
Battery:
If you go with default always on setup and get many messages per day, stream a little music. And not using it as a phone too often. I am getting 2 days and almost 5 hours (53 hours total) for the last few recharge cycles. That's almost double any other smartwatch I own. If I switched to tilt/touch to wake and tweak a few settings. I can see it going almost 3 days. And this will be up to you if you want a watch all the time, or just sometimes to stretch the battery over a full weekend. Either way you go, it charges up quick enough that its usually ready to go after a typical morning routine of putting on charge, getting ready and get going with the day. I see a possible issue if you replace your phone for only this. In a case like that. Order a secondary work charger since it can only charge off the included puck. No Qi charge from what I have seen.
Downsides:
The only real downsides aside from Samsung phones having more feature access to the watch than other phone brands, please let all phones access the ECK/EKG sensor. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is pricey when compared to the other new Galaxy watch. I am sure, sapphire crystal, titanium and testing it to meet spec are not cheap. A ruggedized watch that is accurate will cost what it costs. And I have wanted a rugged watch for active lifestyle days when I kayak or go on bike rides and not worry I might knock my watch around or worry water could damage it. The cool features and a design style of the Samsung Galaxy Ultra Watch made it a must have.

title: Rugged and accurate, but some features are limited
detailedReviews 35: content: I've been wearing Galaxy watches since the Gear 3, and the Ultra is by far my favorite watch this far, and I get compliments on its appearance weekly, at minimum. When I go into its AI (Gemini on your wrist) features, antioxidant or vascular load tracking abilities, as well as ECG, Sleep, Blood Oxygen levels, etc, I consistently see amazement from those who are technologically savvy and curious, and would like to think I have sold a few Ultras, myself!
The "stand alone" activation with Cellular data on the watch, in case I forget my device, is a comforting feeling, as GPS, PHONE, TEXTS, and all the aforementioned features are not dependent on having a mobile phone, as long as you chose to activate it as a separate device. I recommend doing so.
You can't go wrong with Samsungs Galaxy watch Ultra series, there's a color for everyone, and I assure you won't be disappointed in the feature rich device. Having AI embedded into OneUI 8 is a game changer all on its own, in conjunction with gestures and voice commands. Go for the Ultra, all you have to do is decide on which color you prefer!

detailedReviews 36: content: Awesome watch! So many cool new features! I'm coming from the 4 classic, which I had for 5 years, to the watch 7 ultra and I can definitely tell the difference! It was really a tough decision to change it because my 4 classic actually still worked perfectly.
A lot of new features, great size, and faster performance. I honestly didn't think Samsung could get any better with the watches!
I only wish there were more watch faces with night mode, or the ability to add night mode to whatever watch face you're using. Right now, there's only two watch faces that support night mode.
Hopefully more will be added soon. It's a very helpful and useful feature. Right now, I'm switching between watch faces when it gets dark. Even though it's not hard to switch the faces, getting tired of having to do that just to use night mode.
Because sometimes when I switch, I have to add all of my complications back. I have other watch faces that I NEED to use more than the two analog ones provided. Mainly because I can see the complications that I use the most easier, and I like the hybrid styles more. That's my ONLY issue with this watch. And it's not even really an issue. More of a preference.

detailedReviews 37: content: I upgraded from a Galaxy Watch 5. This watch has a bigger face and more features. The setup was pretty easy. It utilizes the smart switch app to download all the settings and apps on the previous watch. One of the noticeable features is the button in the middle. This button can be customized to open and app, or start a stopwatch or something else. The battery has lasted for three days so far without charging and at 24%. Other features on this watch include measuring your heart rate and stress level. Contactless payments can be setup to use your watch to pay at cashier's kiosks. The watch face turns white and can be used as a "light". There is no turn dial like in previous models but you can touch scroll around like one. The watch faces are fully customizable. From displaying heart rate, step counts, battery level, sunrise to sunset times, weather and other colors and fonts. I like the custom watch face that allows you to upload pictures to your watch. The pictures rotate everytime the watch turns on. This gives the watch a personal touch. Overall this watch is not heavy and very durable. The face is bigger that my previous model but it's not a bad thing.

detailedReviews 38: content: I recently received a message on my Galaxy 4 watch, asking if I wanted to update the software. When I tapped to update, my watch turned off and never turned back on. I took it to a Samsung customer service center in Mississauga, Canada, hoping to get it repaired. After a few days, I was informed that since my watch was over a year old, they would not fix it under warranty. To make matters worse, they claimed that a part was missing from the watch, which was surprising since I’ve always taken good care of it and never left it anywhere. This made me wonder if the issue had been present since I first purchased it.
I questioned why I should be held responsible for this. After all, the software update sent by Samsung seemed to be what damaged the hardware. Essentially, I came to this conclusion that after a year, I should avoid updating Samsung product, because if a faulty software update damages the hardware, Samsung will not take responsibility.
I am extremely dissatisfied with both the performance of the Galaxy 4 watch and the customer service I received. This experience has been frustrating and disappointing, and I expected better from a brand like Samsung.

detailedReviews 39: content: Completely converted!
I came across from the dark side, first the Samsung fold, then the Samsung ring, now the watch..and it is amazing.
As i understand it the Galaxy Watch Ultra is Samsungs best watch from a technical perspective. Initial impressions is that it is a good looking rugged watch. I love the watch face, large, bright and many many different watch faces available. They can be as simple or as complicated as you like. I've configured the health stuff on the watch, and do find the information interesting, not fully understood what everything means, but i'm sure that will come in time. There are a lot of statistics. I've been on a few runs with the watch, and the interface and functionality is wonderfully intuitive, even with a bit of encouragement as you come to the end of a run! The battery life is better that i've had before, but some days i've been struggling to get to 24 hours.
All in all, a wonderful watch, integrates perfectly to all other Samsung devices and fairly intuitive. Please note it is a large watch, small wrists beware!

Download some more from the app store to boost these features. The Galaxy Watch Ultra can be used as an independent device.
You can still customize the Watch faces, some classic backwards compatibility and there are so many selections to choose from to match your clothing or accessories.
All apps run awesome and have a sleek feel, 0 lags so far and I like the training modes and smooth animations.
If I could make this experience better, I would like for the next update to allow custom notification sounds, when I leave or am far away from my paired Galaxy phone.

detailedReviews 42: content: While working my heart rate went erratic and I decided to check my heart using the ECG function in Samsung health. My heart rate was 165 and the watch detected AFib. I tried using my clients watch just to confirm and my heart rate was too high for the other brand to diagnose.
Not only did it detect the event it provided me with multiple scans to provide the hospital. Needless to say the Dr was happy to see it because otherwise things on their end would be harder to diagnose.
Another feature the Body Composition is unbelievably accurate matching line by line within .2 diff of the scans at Supplement Superstore. This has allowed me to track progression through my health journey.
Absolutely love this watch. For it's size it's extremely comfortable. It allows me to accurately track my daily activity and the speaker and microphone are the best of any Galaxy Watch or competitor on the market (and I've had multiple smartwatch model to compare to)

detailedReviews 43: content: I purchased this on AO, for cheaper than the quoted price on Samsung with the included trade in, I used my AO Finance to pay for it as I find it easy to use and manage. It's alot more comfortable than it's size suggests. I picked the Titanium White model as I think this separates it from the bulk of smart watches than are normally black. It had a plethora of functions especially if your using a Galaxy phone ,but you can install it on any android or apple device as long as you install Samsung health app. in not a health nut, but indonlioe tracing my steps and heart rate and blood oxygen. I find that as with most smart watches from Samsung I need to charge it over night. This suits me fine as I have another Samsung watch tomuae to track my sleep, which to be honest isn't really a priority for me. It also has LTE capability if need this and you can use an e-sim.Over all it's the most complete smart watch they've at Samsung and wether your after a smart watch or really into aerous health tracking this has got you more than vobered. If you do use it to it's full capacity , AOD and sleep tracking you will need to charge it at least every 20 hours , so that's something to keep in mind.

detailedReviews 44: content: Galaxy ultra watch is great for everything it claims. Battery life is great with proper settings, functionally this wear OS are the best in the market and with the proper watch faces it allows to keep track of your daily routine without the need of opening apps. Extending your battery life.
Now where I found little issues is on the OS side of things I managed to use custom ringtone by placing them in 2 different folders. By doing so, the menu on my watch to set ringtones no longer works, but I can set them on my phone. Also AOD needs a rework, I need to be able to disable touch to wake. This is my working watch so it gets a lot of accidental wake ups.
But overall its a decent watch going on the right direction. More battery would be awesome but at least it las 2 days now and software is snappy and responsive. Its confortable and the display is big enough yo text and daily use. I believe Samsung could benefit from a secondary display to limit battery use to make this a week long battery lasting device. Great device

detailedReviews 45: content: After years of waiting for the right smart android watch I finally got the Ultra. I needed a watch with no. 1 most important feature: enough battery, and definitely the as important feature biggest possible screen.
I like that the Ultra is big and has a masculine look.
The following are my problems:
Battery on the Ultra is not enough. I get 2 days by having 1 3rd of brightness & only BT connection turned on. These watches should last nothing short of 2 days with all features on.
Extremely limited luxury watch faces. Am very picky with the looks of my regular watches. I was astonished to find out that Android still lack heavily on luxury watch faces vs Chinese watches!! Google or Samsung could have partnered with Swiss watch companies for such watch faces. Am willing to pay money for those.
Another problem: No metalic bands from Samsung! You have to go to 3rd parties on Amazon. Not acceptable.
Now for the ELEPHANT in the room: Wake up mode failes most of the time. That alone renders the watch useless. Can you imagine needing to know the time while your hands are full and you need to touch the watch everytime!? Something isn't right.
Am not sure if this is My watch problem or the design itself is flawed. Tried everything on Google, useless!
Hope Samsung will overcome the battery issue and watch faces with bands will serve more diverse groups.

detailedReviews 46: content: I LOVE my Galaxy Watch Ultra. This is my first time owning a "smart" watch. I watched some YouTube videos first and have been cruising along ever since. I thought the watch may be too large for a woman...it wasn't. Large, yes, but acceptable. I love the ability to customize all the features. There are a ton of choices which I love. I purchased it with the titanium grey band, but I purchased additional bands of different colors on Amazon. (I saw some complaints about the silcone bands getting dirty fast. Mmmm. I bought a yellow one and wore it for a few weeks and it was perfectly fine.) I've used it in aquafit class and just followed the procedures once I'm out of the pool (it's nice that the aqua aerobics mode automatically places the watch in water lock). I also have a very easy routine for charging my watch (and, by the way, it charges FAST). I purchased a 2nd charger on Amazon and charge it when I get up in the morning (when I am on my pc, like now) and before I go to sleep. I was very pleased how fast it charges. I just love this watch! I am still figuring some stuff out, but overall, it was so easy to set up.

detailedReviews 47: content: I've had many smartwatches over the years since the Moto360. Loved the size of that one but it got outdated soo fast. Then makers decided smaller watches were where it's at. The last watch I had was the pixel and it's good but I wanted bigger! Release the Galaxy watch Ultra. What a great size! It is nice and big, with a beautiful, easy to read screen. I have an 8 inch wrist and this fits perfectly. Before smart watches, I loved my big chunky analog watches so I love this design. Something still different, not just round, not a rectangle, love the squircle! It is noticeably heavier than the pixel but I got used to it quickly. It feels solid! Being made from durable titanium and sapphire glass will keep it looking great for a long time. I didn't really care for the included band. I like the bands that have the ability to tuck the end under the rest so there is nothing to get caught. There are plenty to choose from online already and more to come.
Setting up the watch to the phone was a breeze, it connects and syncs seamlessly but... This ultra is LTE, so I wanted the watch to have it's own plan. It's own number away from the phone. (it's nice to leave my phone behind if I don't want to carry the huge brick around) So far Verizon couldn't do it after trying for an hour over the phone. I had to get a prepaid plan and ended up getting us cellular to work. It did take an entire day and hopefully I can save some people some headache. It is absolutely samsungs fault in the wear app. When setting up the ultra, it asks to set up a lte plan, and it only "checks with provider", I hadn't told it what provider I wanted so this was confusing. (If you're linking with your current phone plan, I suspect there won't be issues) They don't have a simple scan qr code button! (you get a qr code to enable the esim you purchase) You can find out how to enable it by searching reddit. There's a secret menu to find. Once I had that, I was up and running in 5 minutes.
The ultra watch is fast and snappy, swiping screens is fluid. Battery life so far is fine for me. I can get 2 days on a charge. It really depends on the watch face you choose (there are soo many to choose from) if I use the ultra analog, I get a day and a half. You can dramatically increase the battery life if you turn off the aod but that's not the point of having a watch like this. Also turn off the "hey Google" and just use the button to activate. I think the charging is pretty fast too. I use the Insignia travel 25 watt charger and it only takes an hour and a half to go from 2% to full. I like the fact the watch stays on when charging so you can use it as a clock. I would like to be able to charge the ultra with any wireless charger but you have to use the one from samsung or equivalent.
The screen is great outside, nice and bright! I have no problem reading it in the sun. It's nice that it's soo bright so the flashlight is actually usable.
The buttons on the side are customizable but not as much as I'd like them to be. There should be different button presses you can program and options for any action you'd like. So far it's limited on what you can choose. Hopefully they'll fix that in an update.
This watch is really designed around your health. The dual GPS is great for running, hiking and biking. Soo many workout options to select. Tracking your sleeping habits and stress, sensors for your heart and bmi. Soo much is packed into this watch! I suggest getting cozy and watching YouTube vids to get a handle on it. I am going to enjoy this watch for many years!

title: Great size, beautiful screen, fast and responsive
detailedReviews 48: content: This watch is beautiful with a truly long life battery. We're used to seeing round or square smartwatches. This one, with the rounded square corners stands out in a crowd.
I don't use the middle button which is workout related. Haven't found anything to remap it to. That's besides the point. The shape of this watch allows for extra space for a bigger battery and there is a definite difference. I can get 2 days of use before a charge.
My watch is the LTE version so I'm able to go on bike rides, or other places, without losing connection to phone calls, texts or emails.using just my watch. I pair the watch with my Galaxy Buds and I'm able to listen to Spotify or media saved on the watch itself.
The sleep monitoring using the watch and my Samsung phone helps me to make better decisions on my sleep habits and it is making a difference in my health. Very grateful for that function.
Love this watch. No negatives!

title: Wonderful upgrade, great battery life, seamless connection
detailedReviews 49: content: The Galaxy Watch Ultra has been a game changer for my daily routine. It’s fast, responsive, and packed with features that make it more than just a smartwatch. I use it heavily for health tracking sleep, heart rate, steps, and workouts and everything feels accurate and easy to read on the crisp display.
Battery life is solid and lasts longer than I expected, even with continuous monitoring and notifications turned on. The build quality is rugged but still sleek, and it feels comfortable to wear all day, even during work or intense physical activity.
I also like how seamlessly it connects with my Galaxy phone. Notifications, calls, and apps sync perfectly, and the extra controls like music playback and camera remote come in handy more than I thought they would.
If you want a smartwatch that looks good, performs well, and actually helps you stay on top of your health and schedule, this one’s worth it.

detailedReviews 50: content: I have been wearing this watch for a little over a week now. I wanted to take a few extra days to test out the battery life and some of the health apps. For background information, I currently own a Galaxy 4 and 5 pro watch. Each getting a little better over the previous version. I have not tried a 6 so I will compare to the two that I own. The Ultra looks far better and I believe it is from the squared off edges. The contrast of silvers and gray with the orange main button is a nice touch. Battery life is pretty darn good. I wear my watch about 16 hours a day and I do not charge it at night until I get down under 10%. I have made it over 4 days without charging. The screen is big and bright. Colors are sharp and crisp, font being easily changed to your liking and is very easy to read. Mine came with a gray band, which I prefer, however I am still not a big fan of the band. My wife likes and says the watch looks good. The vibration is on the weaker side, as well. I can feel it and I have no issues knowing which type of notification I am receiving. I just wish it was just a tad stronger. The basic health app does a great job and lets me know when I have obtained my workout or walking goals. Changing your goals is much easier, I feel, on this watch than my previous two. No issues being in the pool, either. I have paired this with the S23 Ultra and it was seamless. One other note is that most of the notifications are turned off for your apps so I had to go back through and reselect them. I guess this could have been avoided by copying my previous watch settings. This is my favorite watch so far, I am very impressed.

detailedReviews 51: content: I'd been running the Watch 5 Pro for a few years and loved it, but lately it was draining faster and just slow to respond between pages. I noticed that some of my overnight statistics like O2 didnt seem right, and decided to upgrade to this Ultra to see if the sensors were really that much better. I'm getting much more accurate sleep statistics, O2 sensing appears to be much more stable (and above 90 everynight) The user experience, page/app switching is much faster than the 5 Pro. The battery life with GPS, wifi and bluetooth, no Always on Display, but a face with a compass on is around 2.5->3 days, might be better with a watch face with less complications. I was worried that it was going to look too big and bulky as I have cyclists wrists, but it doesn't look too big and you certainly dont feel any bulk. Even though the watch is bigger than the 5 Pro, you notice it a lot less, it is quite comfortable. If you are on the fence, pull the trigger and don't look back. I absolutely love my Ultra.

detailedReviews 52: content: The best watch offering from Samsung for Android. Fast fluid animarions and response is buttery smooth. Coming from Warch 5 Pro barrery life is basically the same which is good but you get so much more features out of it. I prefer the quick release watch bands theyre using now, you cannot use your oldcwatch bands unless you by adapters which im not im jist going to get a new band collection. The stock Samsung watch faces are great as we all come to know and love plus you can download many from google play store. Those expecting ro use Facer for watch faces. You CANNOT not compatible all your faces must come from play store. Love the dark mode (red filter) saves battery life. Its hit or miss with stairs tracking but a bit better than watch 5 pro was. Speaker is much louder, but better mics. More storage to gold music and photos and such.

title: Best Samsung watch, fast, fluid, great watch faces
detailedReviews 53: content: I'm a long time Samsung watch user and I recently upgraded my Galaxy watch 5 pro to the Galaxy ultra and I am so glad I did. There are a lot of mixed reviews out there about the look but I love it and I've got nothing but compliments. Also the watch feels more robust and just feels great on my hand.
I'll be honest I did think that the Galaxy AI features were going to be gimmicky. But I was pleasantly surprised to find out that they are actually very helpful. The sleep tracker is amazing and the workout tracker is much much better and does a much better job of accurately calculating how many calories are burned. I also like that the Galaxy AI can help me understand my energy levels and whether sleep apnea could be something that I have to look into.
I do really like this iteration of the Galaxy watch. However, my only gripe is that the rotating bezel is missing. Samsung please do the right thing and bring back the rotating bezel. I promise you you won't regret it.

detailedReviews 54: content: When the watch was launched I was not a fan, but since I thought it was time to upgrade my watches I purchased the watch it, it since has grown on me. Now that I owned the watch, I feel like Samsung missed a lot of opportunities to make this watch a true ultra in opinion. My two biggest gripes with this watch is, one; not having a solid color for the watch. You could have done without the orange stripes or accents. And second; I wish they would have included a rotating bezel since that is a unique design and is also makes functional design making it a true ultra watch. My last grape is the software, which is not allowing aftermarket faces to be used on this device nor the galaxy watch 7 which I also own. I do not like being limited to just Samsung's watch faces especially since I've have not seen ones that I actually like.
In all I still like both watches and for the ultra I really like that Samsung went with using one of their old chassis designs.

title: Misses opportunities, limited watch faces, no rotating bezel
detailedReviews 55: content: I'm moving from a Galaxy Watch 6 to the Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the upgrade is akin to moving from a fairly nice Coupe to a luxury SUV. The Ultra is noticeably larger with its 47mm face compared to the 44mm of the Watch 6, and is also heavier. If you’re used to the feather-light feel of the Watch 6, then you'll notice the extra weight on your wrist, but I got used to it very quickly.
The Ultras design is a world away from my previous Watch 6, as it has a far more chunky and rugged square watch face which houses a circular display. Whilst not lined with gold, the build quality feels premium and I expect it to be incredibly durable. The large display (1.5inch super AMOLED) is also a big upgrade and makes reading messages and other notifications quicker and easier than before. Ive tried this in direct sunlight too and the brightness level does a fantastic job at maintaining a clear and crisp display.
Mine came with 2 straps - the standard black rubber one and an orange trail band. The orange trail band is...interesting. It’s made of a comfortable fabric material but has this odd pull-out pin system for adjusting the length. It’s like Samsung decided to reinvent the wheel here, and not necessarily for the better. It took me a good few minutes to set it to a wrist size that was comfortable, whereas the black rubber one was 1 or 2 seconds. Once its done though, you shouldnt have to change it again as there is a bit of give in the fabric which will hopefully adjust if you wrist expands/shrinks during workouts etc. Switching between straps is a breeze thanks to the quick release system. You can go from sporty to classy in seconds, which is a nice touch.
Setup was straight forward especially if you’re already in the Samsung ecosystem. I restored my setup from the Watch 6 with just a few button clicks. A new feature called out during setup is the option to create custom workout routines. However, the range of exercises is somewhat limited. For instance, while you can choose chest press, there’s no option for incline press or flys. So, if you’re a gym enthusiast who likes to target specific muscle groups, you might find this a bit lacking. It also mentions a new 'body battery' feature, which tells you when you need a break or when you can keep going. I'm still on the fence as to how useful this is.
Overall, this is a brilliant beast of a watch! It’s a significant upgrade from the watch 6, although the size, weight and price may put some people off

detailedReviews 56: content: A great improvement from the last generation. Kudos Samsung.
Battery life was increased even when the battery size remains the same, the new chip is more energy efficient and with the last update battery life was improved.
I'm getting 2 days solid with moderate to heavy use.
The new design is greatly appreciated but I miss the old rotating bezel. Now they implemented it by software. At the end you get adjusted to it.
Bixby, Galaxy AI is another improvement getting around the watcha breezy when my hands are occupied, setting timers, calling hand free. Etc you can chose if you wants Google assist or Bixby. At the end both are very useful.
Storage and memory was improved too. The watch feel more fast no having any issues so far.
It has new wach faces, More informative and complex, those are other improvements very welcome.
Overall is a great experience and an excellent device that I'll recommend if you are a Samsung phone user.

detailedReviews 57: content: I am very disappointed about this watch. I wanted to give a try only because I am easily bored with tech and decades of Apple ecosystem nuances. I really wanted to give this a try. No scrolling crown as it is fixed, the fixed face dial, and the button controls are just wonky. For the orange/action button, you can only have ONE state. There is an option for double-press, and single-press. You can only adjust one, not both...BS! Battery is horrible! I have tried doing some things to help extend it. I can only get at least two days with minimal work out activity and Always On Display. Still playing around with that off to see how I can get some more juice. So, really, not impressed. The only one, ONE thing I dig about the watch. You can use as speaker phone/spotify/music...which is nice riding a bike, or walking the dogs if you don't want ears to still hear your surroundings. But, THAT's it! Unless, I am wrong about all these issues and I am not using correctly, please do let me know. I have searched and asked Samsung support to no avail.

detailedReviews 58: content: This watch is an amazing outdoor companion. From tracking my workouts to showing me the way home with a compas built into the screen, this watch has been nothing but phenomenal. After using the watch for a week or so, the battery life seemed to extend itself, learning my patterns and how I used the watch really did make a huge difference in longevity. I can use the watch for almost 3 days without a charge which is amazing because I am horrible about charging my devices, which brings m to another point. The charging rate is super fast, for those times when you only have 10 minutes and need to get a days worth of a charge. Even using this at the water park was awesome. The water resistance is phenomenal and handled the water slides and wave pool with ease. The best part is the Samsung pay app, being able to tap to pay and use a QR code for my water parks season pass means I don't have to carry my phone with my and can enjoy my families company without any distractions.

detailedReviews 59: content: The watch was very good until today's update which for me is a massive step backwards. I have used Samsung phones and watches forever it seems. I am type 1 diabetic and being able to load the Xdrp+ watchface for me is absolutely critical. Today's update has removed the runtime element necessary for me to be able to use Xdrip+ Without it the watch is absolutely worthless. I really do want watchfaces with cats on or Bitmoji silly images. What I really do want is a watchface that gives me real-time info at a glance for my blood sugar levels and today Samsung have taken that away from me. I contacted customer services to return the watch which I purchased 16 days ago. Their return policy is 14 days so they politely told me no. This has turned me away from Samsung forever and I have been an extremely loyal customer for many many years.

title: Worst purchase, update removed critical watch face
detailedReviews 60: content: The colorful display is stunning and the battery life seems to be much improved over the Galaxy 4 watch I traded. The price point is up there and had it not been for the $250 trade-in allowance, I wouldn't have purchased. Cons: It's a heavy watch for my smaller wrist and the wristband is quite large (both length and width), again, for my smaller wrist. You can't delete or remove the Samsung apps from the watch, like Bixby and Samsung Messages. Therefore, I have a bunch of apps crowding my watch that I have no interest in using. The biggest disappointment is it cheats me out of an hour or two of sleep time every night because it takes an hour or more to start tracking after I fall asleep. My Galaxy 4 work much better. Hopefully, Samsung will figure that out and provide a patch to correct it. Other than those few negatives, I'm glad I purchased.

detailedReviews 61: content: Overall the watch is a solid upgrade from my watch 5 pro. I specifically got it for the enhanced health apps (note I've really only started to use them thoroughly and the apps themselves require your own review).
Pros:
- the large face, you can't miss the details
- it's a nice solid weight on your wrist
- battery life is amazing
- apps work seamlessly
Cons
- the large face, it's really big if you have a small hand or wrist. My friend tried it on and it didn't look good on her
- the need to buy a specific band for this watch is annoying because they are severely over priced and on top of that you need adapters to use standard bands.
- the overall launch of the watch and repeated delays, issues with Samsung e-commerce, etc (which deserves its own review) really soured my overall experience with this watch. Looking back, if I knew it would be such an issue, I wouldn't have done a pre-order of this watch.

detailedReviews 62: content: The large face is the first thing you notice about this awesome watch. It's make it much easier to interact with the watch when you have fat fingers (like I do).
I haven't gotten into all the nuts and bolts, but the sleep tracking and additional apnea feature is very helpful.
The rotating bezel, on the three previous versions I've owned, is something I had gotten used to, so I often find myself trying to rotate the edge of this watch. But it's not a huge loss.
The watch band isn't uncomfortable, but it does leave marks on my wrist everytime it's removed. Having a different underside of the band would be nice.
The battery is another upgrade worth appreciating. I can use the watch for over a day without a need to recharge. In the couple of weeks I've owned so far, the battery has only run out once.
In summary, despite the price, I'd recommend this watch to everyone.

The hand gestures are very convenient and it's my favorite feature. Battery life is amazing, runs 2-3 days without charging and takes around 1.5-2 hours for full charge. I have to say the build quality is strong, looks premium, no scratches on screen and I have some of the roughest usage. It has unlimited customisation options. Health tracking features are accurate, it even has ecg tracking! Calling is again as i said very convenient, speakers are loud and clear. detailedReviews 64: content: I have, for the most part, enjoyed the 7 Ultra. The screen is bright, the UI is very responsive via touch or button, and the activity monitoring is great. What isn't great is the battery life. This has a much newer chipset that is more power efficient (supposedly) but in the end the truth is the battery life is significantly worse. I don't know that I could get through even a 2nd day on a charge with light to moderate usage. The 5 Pro, with AoD on, could last *almost* 3 full days if I don't wear it to bed and with daily average usage would end with between 75 and 80 percent left of the battery. The 7 Ultra, on the other hand, averages between 40 and 60 percent by the end of the day. While I do typically charge my watch nightly, the ability to NOT have to do that is far superior of a feature. I'll keep the watch, for sure, but dang if the battery life isn't even close to being on par with a 2+ year old watch. A little disappointing.

detailedReviews 65: content: The Ultra does a fantastic job at utilizing Galaxy AI in keeping track of my workouts and sleeping routines. I was actually impressed on how accurate it was in tracking my limited hours of sleep. Even the step monitor is a lot more accurate than my former 5 Pro's (which I found odd).
As for the esthetics of the Ultra... it's bulky, which took a little getting used to, but its easily overlooked. Just wished it had rotating dial or roladex menu knob, maybe something to ponder for the Ultra 2? Appearances? This watch looks great on my wrist, and has a decent aftermarket for cases and bands to help exploit its appearance and functions.
Battery life is actually quite good. The longest I went without a charge was 4.5 days and that was with daily routine usage.
All in all, I'm very happy with the smart watch.

detailedReviews 68: content: 2019 I was riding my road bike when I stopped at a light. I checked my watch and saw a very weird thing... my heart beat was very different. I didn't know what to make of it.
I later made an appointment with my doctor who quickly escalated this to a cardiologist and tests. Once seen I was scheduled for emergency heart surgery.
The thing is that I had zero symptoms. None whatsoever. I was riding my bike 20 to 30 miles daily at real speed without a care. This watch of mine, my Samsung, was the one and only tell that something was wrong.
I had my surgery...6 bypasses. I was told that I was very, very lucky indeed and should have been dead. I was visited by so many doctors that wanted to see the man that rode and ran so much but was so close to dying.
All were told...Samsung saved my life.
I am never without my Samsung watch. I am so grateful for this newest one with a long lasting battery. The sensors and Samsung Health seem much more accurate than ever. And when I go for a ride or a HIIT sprint walk I am not worried. Should I fall my watch will immediately notify my family. It's like having someone watching over me. Believe me this builds confidence.
My Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra and my Galaxy Flip 6 are the very best. If you have any health issues or want to simply do better with your health and weight Samsung Health works seamlessly with it all.
It's simple and easy to use for any age.
Thank you Samsung for everything!

detailedReviews 69: content: I’ll start by saying that I have owned the last 2 generation of the galaxy watch classic and that each time there has been great upgrades and improvements. This time I decided to go for the ultra watch, mainly for its even better battery life, new more accurate sensors and feature set, oh and that orange colour is right up my street! I’m a big guy at 6ft 4 so I really like that this is a bigger watch, it really fits my wrist nicely. Even the classic model always felt a bit small looking, but the chunky strap and extra bezel size looks just right. Very happy there. Set up was nice and easy, literally just follow the prompts on the phone and watch and it’s imported all my previous data etc. I connected the eSIM up as well and that went nice and smoothly too. Samsung has really got this down nicely now. As for the watch itself I love the new strap and the new attachment mechanism, everything about it feels more premium than the classic. Sure you can’t use old straps on this watch but I wouldn’t anyway. Why buy a new watch to then use old accessories.. the buttons on the side have a great feel to them and a really positive click action. Having the 3rd centre button is useful. Currently I’ve set it to go into water mode for when I go to the gym, but I think I could change it to other setting over time. The new watch face is nice. I love the built in compass around the outside and that it’s moves as you do, it’s really simple but looks cool. Apps wise it’s quite similar to my previous classic, with a few new ones that I will likely need a bit more time to get the benefit from, but it’s nice to have a few new things to play with. I think the energy score is a nice addition, bringing all of the other measures together to then have something to work on is really helpful. Overall I’m very impressed. I love the look and feel, it’s premium as an ultra watch should be.

detailedReviews 70: content: Battery life on this watch is horrible. I regret trading in my watch 5, which had outstanding battery life. I have done all the troubleshooting, reset the watch but still the same. I am not lasting a day with this thing. I can't even do any of the outdoor activities because the battery will not last. This should not happen on a watch this expensive. Avoid buying this watch unless you want to worry everyday whether your battery will last a day. I am not talking 24 hours, I am talking about 12 hours, which is what I have been getting. At this point I want to return this thing and go back to my watch 5. My 5 year old tic watch has better battery life. Tech support wanted me to turn off AOD, cell service, notifications, exercises, basically turning it into a dumb watch. What's the point of having a smart watch if it won't do any of the smart things.

detailedReviews 71: content: I ordered the Galaxy Watch Ultra at the same time as my Galaxy S25 Ultra, and both were delivered the same day. This watch was a replacement for my Galaxy Watch 4.
Overall, i like the Watch Ultra, but it hasnt been without problems. Twice now it has done a hard reset on its own. Each time, it seems to be a little more difficult to get it reconnected to my phone - the Wear app no longer shows the watch after it resets itself. I have to through steps to get it paired again, which involves multiple restarts of the watch. Then it has to restore from a backup. Its annoying, to say the least. Searching online I found multiple people reporting this issue with the Watch 7 and Watch Ultra using different models of phones. Aside from this, I like the watch, just hoping they fix this issue sooner than later.

detailedReviews 72: content: Rugged and nice looking. No. I'm not talking about myself. The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra is my first choice in tech or fitness watches. Obviously if you are already in the Samsung universe of mobile products this watch is a great "fit" so long as you have big wrists. Unfortunately there is only one sized watch in the ultra category. Not a problem for me but it does pain me to see Reddit posts with a giant watch on a tiny wrist.
All the bells and whistles of a good mobile exercise watch. I like the battery life versus my previous Watch 7.
There may still be some Ultra Watches from 2024 at bargain prices as well. The 2025 version is a minor upgrade from last year. If you can find a bargain I'd recommend the 2024.Galaxy AI will or should be available for both models.

detailedReviews 73: content: Trying to capitalize on the “Ultra” name from its competitor aside, the Galaxy Watch ‘Ultra’ is taking the place of the ‘Classic’ from previous generations. Sadly this does not also take the amazing rotating bezel from the classic series. But that would be my only complaint. The screen is amazingly bright and crisp. I’ve had a galaxy watch of one form or another since the Galaxy watch 3. And my favorites have been the classic with its nice large diving watch kind of style and the nice rotating bezel making for easy use when wearing gloves. Sadly that feature as I said isn’t here but we get an even larger screen here and a larger battery as well for longer time between needing to drop it on the charging puck.
As pictured I received the Titanium Silver model with its slate gray/blue body and marine band, it really looks amazing. If you’ve owned any Samsung watch from the last couple of years feature wise it’s not all that different here, you still have all the same sports and exercise features, maps and media playback, but with the larger screen replying to messages on device is much easier with its full keyboard and swipe typing capabilities. A 3rd button joins the 2 familiar buttons from before with this new one being partially programmable for different features, from exercise selection, a flashlight (turns the face white and ramps the brightness to max, kind of handy with how bright the ultra can get, an instant water lock button if you swim often, or a stop watch for those that run laps, or do other competitive timed events.
I myself am not a big fitness freak, one look at me could tell you that, but I appreciate the reminders to get up and move around because my job has me at a desk for most of my day, and the little buzz is a good reminder to go stretch my legs and move for a bit. Keeps you from getting sore when stuck in an office.
My favorite feature of all however is GPS and navigation. I ride motorcycle and don’t really care to have my phone on a mount on the bike because If something goes bad on a ride, I rather not also have to replace a $1000+ phone on top of medical bills and bike repairs, so I use my watch for gps navigation. Also it keeps the oled screen of the phone safe in a pocket from direct sunlight. I can just wear the watch face on the inside of my wrist so it’s facing down while I ride, but I can quickly turn my wrist to check the map, and the turn by turn instructions can go to my earbud via Bluetooth. And since the whole watch is cellular connected I can easily just leave my phone behind altogether if I don’t need to for wherever I am going because I am still connected and reachable.
I’d dock points for copying the name, but honestly the moment the competitor chose that name I knew Samsung would do it too, they both keep taking each others ideas year after year. This is no different, but with Samsung even if you don’t decide to fork over the extra money for this model you get most of the features aside from the action button in the others this year. Just a little smaller screen and less battery. If your using an android, and want a watch for fitness or fun, or just to be able to leave the phone behind to keep yourself from doomscrolling TikTok the Samsung watch is a great choice.

title: Amazing bright screen, great for GPS navigation
detailedReviews 74: content: Well, I just finished conducting a test experiment using the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra as well as the Samsung Galaxy Ring to determine the accuracy of this technology. Here are the results:
1. Television Activity: Burned 193 calories, with an average heart rate of 58 bpm and a maximum heart rate of 80 bpm over a span of 30 minutes and 9 seconds.
2. Video Game Activity: Burned 194 calories, with an average heart rate of 62 bpm and a maximum heart rate of 90 bpm over 30 minutes and 11 seconds.
3. Decree Session: Burned 193 calories, with an average heart rate of 69 bpm and a maximum heart rate of 77 bpm over 30 minutes and 11 seconds.
4. Circuit Training: Burned 297 calories, with an average heart rate of 131 bpm and a maximum heart rate of 155 bpm over 30 minutes and 17 seconds.
When compared to this morning's decree session—which burned 700 calories with an average heart rate of 65 bpm and a maximum heart rate of 106 bpm over a span of 1 hour, 48 minutes, and 15 seconds—the findings seem consistent. Breaking that session into three 30-minute increments shows an average of about 200 calories burned per 30 minutes, equating to 600 calories over 90 minutes. Adding the remaining 18 minutes contributes roughly another 100 calories, aligning with the 700-calorie result. If extended to a full two hours, the calorie count would likely reach 800.
This consistency across television, video gaming, and decree activities suggests no further experimentation is needed. It makes sense that 700 calories were burned during the morning decree session—not because of increased physical, mental, or emotional exertion but likely due to how the Samsung Galaxy Watch computes data. It appears the calorie estimates rely on predefined assumptions combined with sensor data, raising questions about the technology's accuracy.
The concern now shifts to evaluating the precision of the device in measuring calories burned, heart rate, and other metrics. The only element that can be deemed nearly 100% accurate is time, as it is straightforward to compute. However, the calorie burn calculations invite skepticism. For example:
1. Watching television while seated resulted in burning approximately 200 calories.
2. Playing video games, which engages the mind and hands more actively, produced almost identical results.
3. A decree session, involving more intentional mental, emotional, and physical engagement, also yielded a similar calorie burn.
4. Circuit training, a highly intensive physical activity including weightlifting, calisthenics, and jumping jacks, only burned about 100 calories more than these sedentary activities.
This discrepancy is striking. Despite the substantial physical demands of circuit training, the reported calorie burn difference is minimal. Even with efforts to maintain an elevated heart rate by limiting breaks during circuit training, the results suggest only a marginal improvement compared to less active pursuits.
These findings raise significant doubts about the accuracy of the device's calorie and heart rate tracking capabilities. While the circuit training results seem plausible given the effort involved, the similarity in calorie burns across vastly different activities suggests that the device's algorithms may rely heavily on predetermined or generalized data rather than precise measurements. Further scrutiny of the technology's methodology is necessary to understand and address these inconsistencies.

title: Doubts about calorie and heart rate tracking accuracy
detailedReviews 75: content: I was intrigued by the Samsung Galaxy Ultra Titanium Smartwatch primarily because I found my Pixel watch, while a great watch too, a bit "boring" stylistically. The Galaxy Ultra watch has a bit of pizzazz and features a nice, large 47mm screen (41mm on the Pixel 2). It is also a thicker, heavier watch but the weight feels balanced on your wrist.
The "BioActive sensor" on this watch is top notch. Per Samsung, the BioActive sensor "more accurately measures health metrics such as heart rate, sleep quality, blood pressure, blood oxygen levels and stress levels. Even the measurement of heart rate during intensive workouts is 30% more accurate compared to its predecessor." Given this Ultra watch is marketed toward those with active or outdoor lifestyles, improvements to accuracy are important for those who track their heartrate, O2, sleep, etc. I did find that my watch wanted me to slide the watch slightly UP my arm to get the most accurate readings, however. Given the weight and size of this watch, it is only natural, then for the watch to slide back down the wrist away from the optimal touchpoint for sensor readings. However, the watchband is very adjustable and comfortable so finding the right "tightness" on the proper spot on your arm for the watch shouldn't be too difficult unless you have fairly thin wrists. Nonetheless, this watch is bonkers if you want a device to help monitor your health and activities!
The higher-end materials help push this watch up in price. The storage, processor, and display resolution on the Ultra are the same as the Galaxy 7 watch (44mm version) so the main upgrade over the 7 is the larger capacity battery (590mAh vs. 425mAh) and the higher durability rating (to which I cannot speak to as I am not willing to test "breaking" this watch!)...in addition to the superior materials.
The battery has the ability to last well over 24 hours but a lot of that depends on how you set up the watch services--starting with whether or not you "always on" the display. Out of the box, with no real configuration other than to make the watch pair with my phone and my Google account, I drained the battery faster than expected and was caught off guard. Changing the display to "adaptive" and "always on" to off, coupled with Bluetooth ON and wi-fi OFF significantly improved the battery life and gets me well beyond 24 hours. 0%-100% charging seems to take about 2 hours.
The "fitness" tools are front and center on this watch and record tons of data. I don't have the means to speak to their accuracy (especially while tracking sleep habits) but the bottom line is you can quickly identify trends and baselines to help improve your workouts and routines. The GPS seems accurate, and I really like the default watchface which includes an always accessible compass. Speaking of faces, there is a fairly decent selection of watchfaces included in the Samsung Wear app. I will admit that I wish this watch would integrate with an Android phone w/o the need to use the Samsung app, but that's just how it is.
Setup was easy, although I did have to run through the process twice simply because I screwed up and tried to recover settings from another Samsung watch account unintentionally. I did bump the font size up a notch during setup to help me read the screen with a little less effort. Once I had the watch properly connected to my phone and configured in the Wear app, though, I have not had to touch the app on my phone.
One other random thought, the actual screen is slightly recessed. If the watch ever falls and lands face down on a flat, smooth surface, that little bit of a recess should help prevent scratches or cracks. Another nice feature is a "siren" alarm (that I did not test) that will apparently make a VERY LOUD alert to help find you if you need help. It is worth nothing, however, that the siren is not automatically linked to any SOS/911 features.
Although bulky, I like the styling of the watch--as well as its features--enough to think that I will make this my daily watch moving forward. If the pricepoint doesn't scare you away, the only real concern you should have is will this bulkier watch feel comfortable all day long on your wrist. Assuming you don't struggle with "normal" watches slipping or fitting correctly, the Samsung Ultra Titanium Watch should make you very happy especially if you had battery issues with previous watches and if you enjoy tracking your health and exercise activities.

title: Great health monitoring, improved battery life, comfortable fit
detailedReviews 76: content: Initially, when I was shopping online, I was unsure if I would want the Ultra version versus the standard Watch 7. Some of the reasons being that the cost is twice as much, it comes in only one large size of 47mm (40 and 44 for the Watch 7), and it is thicker and didn’t seem as sleek in comparison. For further reference, I already own the Watch 4 in a 40mm variant and it looks good on my thin wrist. However, I went into a physical Best Buy and compared the Ultra and 7 and even tried them on. I must say, the Ultra grew on me and it doesn’t feel as big as it seems on spec sheets.
Seeing as it only comes in an LTE version, I tested out the setup with my phone carrier (T-Mobile) and it couldn’t have been easier to connect and select a plan. I should point out that you do not need to set this up as you can use it as a standalone watch or just connect it via Bluetooth to your phone assuming you have an android or a Samsung Galaxy (my preference).
Speaking of connecting to an android (not compatible with iPhone), you can adjust all watch settings right from your phone using the Wear app. This takes some of the pressure off if you feel it to be cumbersome making adjustments within the watch itself.
Now let’s get to the main reason to own this watch: the health features. It has the typical heart rate, daily activities, workouts, etc. that most are already familiar with. I personally like to keep track of my sleeping habits. Especially the sleep apnea feature and blood oxygen levels. For those with a spouse/partner that says you snore at night but don’t believe them, there is a ‘snore detection’ feature that will record 30 seconds of snoring that you can hear for yourself.
With regards to workout settings, the watch can be programmed to automatically detect any workouts and start recording them or you can operate those manually. I personally set up ‘boxing’, ‘bike indoor’, and ‘circuit training’ as my go to workouts. From what I see, you can also put together a whole workout routine in ‘multisport’ by selecting different exercises, break times, and workout timed intervals.
Overall, although I may not be the avid workout enthusiast this watch is intended for, I am very happy with the Ultra version.

title: Health features are great, easy to connect LTE
detailedReviews 77: content: I'm not fit or sporty, actually I'm barely active, but that's something I'm trying to improve. So while the watch can and will track my gym activity as well as health stats it's not what I'm most excited about. That said, I'm almost 50 and just having been diagnosed with high blood pressure so I'm very happy to have a very easy way to keep a constant eye on it. The added ECG and other data the Watch 7 Ultra can generate will probably make my GP happy too when I next go in for my annual checkup.
Anyway, I didn't get the watch to make other people happy, I got it to make me happy and it certainly does that. Messages and notifications are displayed clearly, I can load it up with music or stream directly to my earbuds, and with an LTE subscription I no longer need to take my phone with me when I go out, since I can use Samsung Pay directly from the watch as well as make and receive calls and everything else that comes with a data plan. This watch is a fine way to reduce my screen time and social media doom-scrolling simply by leaving my phone at home, and this has had a positive impact on my mental health as well as being more present when I'm out with friends, while at the same time still being in contact and contactable.
The only downside I have found is that it is a lot more expensive than the Watch 7 base model, but I have no regrets and wouldn't change it for anything since the size. weight and general feel is very comfortable to me. Perhaps more tellingly, I've been trying to upgrade from my ancient (for technology) Galaxy Gear S3 Classic for at least the past 3 years and no matter which watch I try I always go back to the Classic. This time however there has been no such desire and I'm finally happy with a watch that can do everything the old one can but better as well as the new functionality that wasn't available for the old watch.
If there was one thing I'd like to see added it would be the rotating bezel, but the digital equivalent of rotating my finger around the screen is an adequate substitute and it's hardly like the Watch 7 is lacking in ways to control it. I suppose that it'd lose at least some amount of water resistance if more moving parts were added and I rather like being able to wear it in the pool as I start my fitness journey.

title: Great for health monitoring, reduces screen time
detailedReviews 78: content: Upgraded from a Watch 5 Pro (Bluetooth), mainly because of enhanced Health sensors, promise of better battery life and the prospect of LTE stand-alone operation. Impressions so far after a couple of weeks:
* Very comfortable and stylish with a nice bright display
* Battery life no better than my old Watch 5 pro (I'm not an advanced user, just record everyday healthy activity)
* Health sensors are better and record more data
* Purchased e-sim for LTE operation (EE Network). After using for only a couple of minutes, received 'Overheating' warning and watch fell back to 'Emergency Call Mode'. The only way to recover from this was to reboot the watch. Originally I thought this was a faulty device, but some targeted searching on the Web shows this to be a 'known' issue with many reports of the same behavior.
Although I've never had a Smartwatch that supports LTE, the Ultra was to be my first (as it comes as standard). I've never owned a Smartwatch from another vendor, so am heavily invested in the Samsung eco-system (My phone is an S24 Ultra and I also own Samsung Buds and my wife also uses their products).
I eventually asked for a refund for my e-sim as the Watch was totally unusable when operating over LTE due to the overheating issue. This disappoints me greatly as although I don't 'really' need that functionality, its shameful that Samsung haven't tested this use-case fully and made sure it's fit for purpose.
While searching on the web it became apparent Apple Ultra Watches "just work". Maybe I chose the wrong eco-system?
It seems Samsung have attempted to imitate the Apple rival, but should possibly concentrate more on reliability and usability than unimportant stuff like matching band colours!

detailedReviews 79: content: Samsung has taken a whole new design to their watch series in this release from the traditional “rounded” style to the alternative “square” styling. This new look is aggressive and moves Samsung into the non-conservative look. While this look is designed for sports and ruggedness, it still pairs really well in a suit and tie in the “Titanium Silver” color as tested. When not in a formal setting, this watch has a number of sporty and gym bound features to support all of the various activities out there. One notable key feature added is the gesture controls and potentially life-saving tools for health-related criteria as a part of it’s bioactive sensor upgrades/changes. While one of these has been available outside of the US for some time now, it is great to see here in the US; noting from my use of a Galaxy Watch Classic 5. This is the Samsung Health Monitor; it does require initial and continued calibration to ensure accuracy to a Pulse Ox/Blood Pressure tool. One highly noted health and safety feature added is the sleep apnea detection helps to record sleep patterns and breathing patterns to pass onto your physician and recommend you to see a doctor if need be. This will not change pre-diagnosed findings in an individual of having Sleep Apnea. This is one of Samsung’s current highly noted goals in tracking your own wellness via a wearable.
The ”quick button” is customizable, limited to what Samsung feels is the most important and hopefully this will change in the future in one their next feature updates. AS. Of now, it can be set to default to start your workouts or custom to specific workouts, water lock, flashlight, or stopwatch (not in any particular order). The other buttons are still customizable as well.
Energy. So far this watch under heavy use if finding itself to last a little over a day, but the watch does need time to calibrate itself to the user. The watch charger uses the current standard of USB-C to charge itself and rapid charges. Energy Score, refers to YOU, looking at your daily activity, sleep, and heart rate data points, and includes tips on wellness.
Currently, I have this setup on one of the recommended service providers tied directly with my phone service and have not had any issues or complaints with connectivity. The watch easily switches to WiFi and Bluetooth connection as needed and when selected to.
Rugged. Overall this watch does have added thickness compared to my other Galaxy watches and uses a much wider band with dual pin-holes for closure. The included Marine band fits nicely on your wrist while having sweat release areas to let your wrist breath more easily. There are additional bands to purchase if needed to suit your style, use, and need.
Overall, Samsung has a way to keep their watch looking classy while being able to support their user in various ways. I can highly recommend this watch as even during my time with it, there’s always something new to learn from the watch itself, through a tip, my exercise routines, and even my sleep patterns.

detailedReviews 80: content: It's been a long while since I last had a smart watch. It was decent and it was nice to have a little wrist notifier that was a bit stylish. But the battery eventually failed and I just didn't want to bother.
Now the main reason I got this watch was because of a major sale, do not. I repeat DO NOT pay full price for this thing. Yes, it's made out of titanium and has cellular (which by the way is the ONLY option, so no cheaper GPS only version), but at the end of the day, it's a smart watch.
The battery life is the biggest problem I have. About 60 hours on normal mode, even if you wind up turning off a lot of unnecessary things. I personally turned off LTE (never intended on adding this to my phone plan and pay extra per month), turned off wifi since that can waste battery, turned off auto detect workout, since simply walking for 10 minutes can trigger it, and several other things. I also made sure that Google Assistant was turned off and disabled and did what I could to uninstall as many apps. Now technically you can turn on a power saving mode, but this really hampers the capabilities of the watch all in the name of getting slightly better battery life. What sucks even more is that BY DEFAULT, power saving mode turns off a lot of fitness stuff, INCLUDING SLEEP TRACKING.. If you don't dig through the settings and look at everything that everything does, you can miss out on some crucial health tracking stuff.
The original band is also a bit of a pain. Yes, it's rugged and whatever, but there was no reason to have the inside of the band have so many ribs and have that permanently mark your arm. I eventually fixed this with a third part band and case that made the watch feel more like a G-shock.
But, in spite of all its flaws I will be keeping it. I miss the capabilities of such a watch and just seeing this Ultra watch along side my other Ultra products is very nice, just hope that the sequel to this can at minimum double the battery life. There are simpler smartwatches out there can that last more than a week. Samsung should be able to figure that out.

detailedReviews 81: content: The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra isn't just a new smartwatch; it's a statement. It's a declaration from Samsung that they're no longer content to play it safe. This is a device that charges headfirst into the rugged, high-performance world of adventure watches, and it does so with a flair that is undeniably, unapologetically Samsung.
From the moment you lay eyes on the Watch Ultra, you know it's different. Gone are the svelte, minimalist lines of the standard Galaxy Watch. The Ultra is a titan, a beast of a smartwatch with a chunky, titanium "cushion" design that houses a glorious circular display. This isn't a watch you forget is on your wrist. Its size and weight are a constant, reassuring presence, a reminder that this device is built to endure. The new, thicker bands and dynamic lug system complete the look, providing a secure and comfortable fit even during the most strenuous activities.
But the real magic is beneath the surface. Samsung has armed the Watch Ultra with a suite of features that would make any adventurer's heart race. The 1.5-inch Super AMOLED display is an absolute marvel, reaching a blinding 3000 nits of peak brightness. This means that whether you're navigating a sun-drenched trail or checking your stats in a blizzard, the display is always crisp, clear, and perfectly readable. The sapphire crystal glass provides a formidable barrier against scratches and scrapes, while the 10 ATM water resistance means you can take it for a swim, a run in the rain, or eve

detailedReviews 82: content: I traded in my Galaxy Watch Classic 6 for this and I'm still not 100% convinced that was a good trade. They gave me more for my trade-in (well, they will in theory) than I paid for it with discounts in the first place so I went ahead with it. The Ultra is a big too bulky for the board room - and a little too orange (I bought the blue one but it has orange accents) so we'll see if I can dress it up at all. I'd get different bands from Samsung but they are outrageously and laughably over-the-top expensive - $135 for a silicone watch band? Haha. Come on...make your money somewhere else. There are plenty of 3rd party bands almost identical for under $20 so I'll go that way.
My biggest complaint, believe it or not, is that the display is too small. Yes, it's a huge watch but with all that casing size, why can't you make the display bigger? The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic made the display smaller (1.35" vs 1.5") so I wasn't going down a size - the Ultra should be bigger than anything else because it's the Ultra. A 1.6" display would have been more appropriate.
The battery life so far is certainly exaggerated. If you want to use AOD - and more importantly NFC - the battery life is still a bit of a challenge to get through one busy day if you track exercises, etc. But I couldn't use NFC or AOD on my GW6 at all because I would only get 2/3 through the day with the battery life, which is the main reason I went with this watch. The battery life will improve after a few cycles and I think I can get through the day with everything turned on, but not much beyond that.
Removing reverse wireless charging and changing the standard for wireless charging so most every other wireless charging device doesn't work was just a bonehead move. That's just dumb. If you're going to do that, then stop using wireless chargers and use a physical connector so it will charge faster than 5W (you don't actually get 15W like they documentation suggests).
I like the new OneUI8 watch interface so that's a plus and the watch band connectors actually do work well but I have to buy all new watch bands yet again. :(
I wouldn't buy it at full price but they gave me an offer I couldn't refuse...

detailedReviews 83: content: If you need a smart watch – a BIG smart watch – you may want to take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra. Now admittedly, for a lot of people, one of the more moderately sized and priced Samsung watches may be just fine. But if you are involved in a lot of physical activities you like to keep track of, have need of a larger battery and screen, then the Ultra may be worth the extra money.
First is the size. The Galaxy Ultra has a large, Sapphire glass, AMOLED 47mm screen that looks really nice and is so bright you can see it easily in sunlight. The body is a mixed bag for me – it’s Titanium which is great and sturdy, but it’s kind of a “round screen on squarish body” design that isn’t my favorite mix, but it does the job. While not an anchor, it’s large and heavy enough that you WILL know you’re wearing a watch, especially with the thick “Marine” style band that comes with it (I’ll be switching to a more stretchable fabric band for comfort). On the right side you have three buttons – a menu/power button, a center action button that can be programmed for a limited number of things when pressed, and a back button. The bezel around the screen does NOT rotate (more on that later). Mine is a darker watch with a dark band, which to me, looks nice. You can also get lighter variations of watch body with a bright orange band or white(ish) band, which by the way, basically just snap in to the watch body, and a quick release button on the back of the watch will release them. MUCH easier then previous bands.
The sensors on the back can track a huge number of measurements. Your heart rate, blood oxygen readings, an ECD heart reading, and a ton of fitness tracking features to measure your steps, stairs, swimming, hiking, running, skin temp, fitness comparisons, and so much more. You can customize shortcuts on the watch Wear-OS operating system to more quickly reach the features you want, or don’t. Samsung Pay and Google Pay are usable as well. The watch of course pairs up with your phone quickly and easily via a dedicated app, which allows you to control features, watch faces, and more via that route if you don’t want to adjust settings on the watch face itself. The just under 600 mah battery should keep you going all day, depending on use. The Ultra charges pretty quickly with the included round/disk magnetic charger, but it’s only roughly a couple of feet long – I’d have loved to see a longer cord on it. If you decide to activate and use the 4G LTE feature with your carrier, it will drain the battery a little quicker, but with standard use, it shouldn’t be an issue.
I think the speaker works well. I can hear calls and other audibles clearly and loud enough. Those I’ve talked to on calls say the mic is pretty good – they can tell I’m not quite on my phone directly, but have no issues hearing me clearly enough. I get text and call notifications as I should, with customization for the vibrations and tones, although in my opinion, the “ping” that hits your wrist to alert you, even on high, could be stronger. 32 gigs of internal storage is sufficient for many purposes, and 2 gigs of RAM keep things moving smoothly.
The Ultra has an IP68 water-resistant rating. This means based on their specs, you can expose the watch to about 10 minutes of saltwater, or 30 minutes of fresh water for a short period of time, but they do not recommend diving/scuba diving with it. Rain should not be an issue or if you wear it in the shower. I’m a bit more paranoid of a person, and I do not wear it in water just to be safe. There is a setting in the menu for water exposure to, perhaps that closes off some ports inside (?).
I will have to address the one “inexcusable” flaw in this watch, though… the non-rotating bezel. On some other Samsung Galaxy Watch models, you can turn the bezel around the screen to access menus and adjust settings, and this is a HUGE plus. It makes navigating your watch seamless, and keeps you from having to touch the screen as much. The Watch Ultra’s bezel however, is stationary, causing you to have to use your finger to go around the screen as a substitute. In my opinion, this is a huge flaw for a watch of this level and price range, and I hope they consider adding a rotating bezel to the next model.
Overall I do like the Galaxy Watch Ultra. I have large wrists, so the included band fits well and looks good. So far, all of the features seem to work as they should with no issues. The speakers and mic work well. The screen is nice and bright and clear. I would give it 5 stars, but the lack of a rotating bezel knocks a full star off for me. Only you can decide if the extra features of the Galaxy Watch Ultra are worth the increase in price over Samsung’s other offerings for your needs. Still, I would recommend this watch for those who do need something a step above the other standard offerings out there.

title: Large and heavy, but great features and display
detailedReviews 84: content: Let’s get the elephant in the room immediately out of the way: the Galaxy Watch Ultra copied a lot from its competitor’s Ultra watch. But that watch isn’t compatible with Android phones while the Galaxy Watch Ultra is. So, if you were envious of the other watch, know that the Galaxy Watch Ultra takes a lot of design cues from it.
The watch has a square encased in a square but the display itself is still circular. Some people call it a squircle. Some call it cushioned. The display has a 1.5” diameter, which is the same size as the Galaxy Watch 7 44mm’s display. The Galaxy Watch Ultra is only labeled at 47mm because it includes the case, but as you can see, that method of marketing is deceptive. There is a clear advantage to the 47mm over the 44mm but it has nothing to do with the display and more to do with the other internal hardware.
Internally, the larger space allows the Dynamic Lug System, which is used for switching bands on the Ultra, to fit. Band installation is fool proof. You simply push the band into the watch until it clicks. No more finding tiny pinholes, and aligning the band’s pins to fit inside them like traditional bands or the Galaxy Watch 7. Removing bands on the Galaxy Watch Ultra is as simple as pressing the eject buttons on the back of the watch. At the same time, they will never eject accidentally no matter how hard I forcefully push the watch against my skin or clothes.
Unlike its doppelganger from another company, the Galaxy Watch Ultra has speakers that you can play content with. It comes with LTE, so if you use it with a mobile plan, you can use it independently without your phone to stream music from apps like Spotify while you’re on a run. The speakers are also convenient for playing back voice memos. Or for your alarm to wake you up when you wear the watch to sleep. What makes the Galaxy Watch Ultra different from the previous generations of Samsung watches is that the Ultra has the best sounding speakers yet. They’re the loudest and open sounding that they don’t sound like they’re coming from inside a tin can. Not just for music and video, they also enhance the quality of phone calls with the watch. Calls can be heard as clear as a phone’s speakerphone and people on the other side of the line couldn’t tell I was using my watch to answer their call. At no point did either of us ask to repeat anything because the calls were so clear.
Despite the heavier weight, the Galaxy Watch Ultra is very comfortable to wear. Maybe it has something to do with the stock watch band evening out the around your wrist. I’m not sure. The watch band itself is very breathable and doesn’t irritate my skin. The part of the band that holds the tail end of the band in place is metal, but more importantly, it stays in place when worn. I never have to fidget with it, worrying about it sliding off and not keeping my band in place like other watch bands of this type. The disadvantage of this is that it hits the palm rest and edge of my laptop. I worry about it scratching my laptop, so I usually take it off. This can be remedied by using a different watch band.
The processor is one of the highlights of Samsung’s latest release of smart watches, which includes the Watch 7 and the Galaxy Watch Ultra. With Samsung’s previous releases, I’ve never noted the processor’s performance, but with the Galaxy Watch Ultra (and I assume the Watch 7 as well since they use the same processor) the improvement is a lot more noticeable! Everything feels so much more responsive. Apps like Samsung’s Internet browser are the big winners for this. Unfortunately, if you’re using it as a Wi-fi device, the Watch Ultra will prioritize the Bluetooth tethered connection with your phone over actual Wi-fi so using the Internet app will still appear sluggish due to it using the internet data over bluetooth from your phone. There is no way to keep it on Wi-Fi because while you can connect to it manually, it will eventually automatically disconnect. Wi-Fi is mainly used for updates as was the case with the older Wear OS Wi-Fi Galaxy Watches.
What separates the Ultra from the 7 are a few things. One of them is the battery life. I ignored Samsung’s Watch6 line because they didn’t release a watch that was comparable to or better than my Watch5 Pro. Not even with the Watch6 Classic, which saw the return of the physical bezel. The Galaxy Watch Ultra uses a 590mAh battery, the same rating as the Watch5 Pro. Using the Photo watch face with no monitoring complications except for battery, I was able to fit 2 workouts across 2 days, with a battery life span of 44 hours. However, with the Ultra Info Board watch face, which has the heart rate monitor, compass, and battery complications, under the same usage I got 41 hours of battery life. With that said, it lasts one whole day with a session of sleep easily under heavy usage. I found this more or less similar to my Watch5 Pro.
The Ultra also has a Quick button which isn’t present on the Watch 7. It’s a customizable button that’s unfortunately extremely limited to Samsung’s own Health app and a few system functions- Stopwatch, Flashlight, Water Lock. Or you can set it to no function at all. It’s setting it to the Health app that makes it truly convenient because you have the option to assign it to a specific exercise. Even better than that is during workouts, a single press of the Quick button will pause or resume the workout tracking. A double press records a lap when running or biking. And my favorite: a press and hold will finish the exercise. I no longer have to slide a menu open to pause or end an exercise, which was so inconvenient. It’s a shame Samsung doesn’t allow you to assign the button to third party apps. But if the quick button suits your needs, it’s a moot point.
Holding the Quick button for 5 seconds activates a siren which is loud and piercing. My issue with it though is that after it’s activated, it uses up 10 seconds to make a blaring sound- like a warning sound- before it gets to the piercing siren sound. I imagine for dire emergencies when you need immediate attention from people that can be very frustrating and counterproductive.
Unlike the 7, the Ultra is made of titanium instead of aluminum, so it’s more durable and resistant to dents. However, it still won’t help prevent scratches so keep that in mind, especially with the black paint on the bezel. Both use sapphire crystal glass which make them very resistant to scratches, which is great to have when you’re touching the screen a lot of the time. Bear in mind, sapphire crystal isn’t for preventing damage on impact, so it can still crack.
I can’t speak to the accuracy of its health monitoring other than the heart rate monitor matches what I get on a treadmill when I’m running at the gym. It has other gimmicky monitoring like ECG and sleep apnea, but the watch itself warns you of its accuracy and that it shouldn’t be substituted for actual medical equipment. To monitor sleep apnea, you need to sleep with the watch twice over a 10 day span. After that, if you don’t have sleep apnea, the Watch Ultra simply tells you it didn’t detect it. I can’t tell you what it tells you or what information it provides if you do since apparently, I don’t experience sleep apnea for the watch to trigger it.
The library of apps and watch faces is one of the main reasons to choose a Wear OS watch over a fitness watch and the Galaxy Watch Ultra is arguably the best one currently on the market. It runs on the latest Wear OS 5 thanks to its partnership with Google. Besides having the latest features, it also ensures compatibility with the newer apps that get released or updated, unlike some other Wear OS watches out there. Historically, Samsung has been great with releasing updates for its Wear OS watches as well.
The cons going against the Galaxy Watch Ultra is despite it being marketed as a fitness watch for fitness enthusiasts and adventurers, it doesn’t deliver the way other sports smartwatches do. For starters, there is no physical control option for when you’re really drenched. Many have complained about the absence of the physical bezel on the Watch Ultra but it’s more than that. They could have added buttons for physical control navigation. They could have made the Quick button a rotating crown. They didn’t. Without it, using it in the rain or when you’re drenched in sweat, becomes a challenge as the liquid will register accidental inputs and make it behave erratically. And that itself can be a deal breaker for the serious athlete or adventurer.
For ECG and sleep apnea tracking, it can only be done with a specific list of Samsung phones since it’s isolated to the Samsung Health Monitor app, which is not compatible with any other Android devices, including older Samsung phones.
The Watch Ultra’s battery life pales in comparison to some smartwatches in the market but you have to consider that those watches don’t offer the same user experience as the Watch Ultra either. Their OS can feel more basic and sluggish. Their app library is nowhere near as expansive or active as Wear OS. You’re also paying significantly more for the battery life and wearing a heavier watch compared to the Watch Ultra. So there’s no easy recommendation for everyone since everyone’s different. I wouldn’t recommend the Watch Ultra for the serious athlete because its fitness data and lack of physical controls for navigation is a deal breaker when you can find them on other sports smartwatches. But for the casual user that works out, it’s probably the best you can get for Android phone users. You will be paying more for the battery life, stronger titanium build, and the quick button, but the price is comparable to what other companies charge for this sort of watch- cheaper in some cases. It’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth it.

detailedReviews 86: content: After years with a hybrid smartwatch, I finally upgraded to the Samsung Galaxy Watch 7. I hadn’t used a full smartwatch since Samsung switched to WearOS, so this was a significant change, and it’s been a fantastic upgrade.
The watch looks excellent, with a minimal bezel and a bright clear display which is easy to see, even on very sunny days. The screen feels extremely smooth to navigate without any lag.
I use the Sport Band, which I've found to be extremely comfortable, even when worn all day and through the night. It’s perfect for tracking sleep and staying active without having to take it off.
As someone who loves data, I’ve become a huge fan of the energy score feature. I check it daily to monitor how consistently I’m staying active and maintaining a good sleep pattern - something I’ve always struggled with! It’s been great to see a single number which rolls everything together and tells me if I'm getting better or worse!
I quickly found a watch face I liked, from the many many choices, and love how customizable they are, letting me see steps and heart rate at a glance.
The app selection on WearOS is great and I've used Strava, in particular, for tracking workouts. Getting GPS signal has been quick and reliable. It's a shame that Samsung decided to lock some features, such as blood pressure and ECG behind having a Samsung Galaxy phone.
Battery life is okay, and arguably not out of the ordinary for a smartwatch, though I’m still adjusting to daily charging. Luckily, it charges quickly, so it hasn’t been too inconvenient.

title: Fantastic upgrade, bright clear display, smooth navigation
detailedReviews 87: content: The Galaxy Watch Ultra has exceeded my expectations during the time that I’ve been wearing it. Its case is visually appealing, and the contour fits comfortably on my wrist. The placement of the buttons is perfect, making it easy to navigate through the watch’s features. The digital bezel allows for smooth scrolling and quick access to various functions (making one certain button useless). And battery life, when working right, is nothing to scoff at. Overall, my experience with the watch has been overwhelmingly positive. Let’s get into what I want to highlight.
The design of the watch case is aesthetically pleasing. At 47mm, its large pebble shape takes up nearly my entire wrist. Despite the size, the display resolution is perfect. Not only does it enhance the visual appeal but also provides a comfortable, ergonomic fit. I wear it all day and night with no discomfort. Its titanium housing is unbeatable, but it comes at a premium cost. And although I’m not a huge fan of the band design, it is durable, and I appreciate how easily the bands snap into the case, making it convenient to switch them out. Taking the band off my wrist is a minor annoyance, as the prongs (yes, two prongs) sometimes don’t like to let go.
The battery power of this watch is great with its 590mAh capacity. With power-saving mode off, I’ve had it last nearly 60 hours, which is great for me because I’m not too interested in having to remove, charge, and attach the watch each day. However, sometimes encounter an issue with potentially some background processes. It seems the watch’s battery life can vary, lasting either two-and-a-half days or less than twelve hours. I’ve experienced both.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is quite resilient. Its titanium build is hardly beatable. Also note that it has a 10ATM rating, which allows it to be used in various water situations such as showering and swimming for 10-30 minutes, depending on the water pressure or depth. I've had no issues in these situations.
The action button on the watch is a new feature and could have been useful with different input types, but Samsung seemed to have dropped the ball here. You can only assign four functions to the action button: Samsung Health (although you can set the exercise), stopwatch, flashlight, and water lock. This limitation makes the button feel underutilized and barely saves me any time, and so I’ve found little use for it.
As for LTE capability, it is largely useless to me personally. Unless you don’t keep your phone with you or have a significant distance between you and your phone during workouts or exercises, you won’t find much use for it. It’s nice to have the option, but it’s not a necessity.
The Galaxy Watch Ultra is certainly impressionable. Its battery life is strong but sometimes inconsistent, and I would recommend fine-tuning all the features if you want to maximizing battery life. The action button’s limited functionality feels underdeveloped, and LTE is nice but not a necessity. Overall, my experience has been very positive, and, despite a few drawbacks, I fully intend to continue using this fantastic watch.

detailedReviews 88: content: First of all the trade in program rocks!. I was surprised how much the were giving me in return for my old tablet. And to be honest I didn't need the upgrade that desperately but it was a very much welcomed one as not only the screen was bigger and brighter it doubled my Ram to 16 GB, which os a must. (Who ever says Ram is not necessary, doesn't know what they're talking about) Either way screen is as bright as you need to and wide enough to look like a small TV with better resolution that my own. But it is perfect for creating art. I bought a wacom one pen with titanium nibs and it works perfectly without and draw backs or the need to replace nibs anymore. The OS is just perfect for a tablet and at times feels more like a PC. It definitely has replaced it for me. This the most people need for daily use and would recommend getting one of this and just learn how you could replace laptops and other expensive items with this. Like for example school work. Any normal use its going to excel and it a great beginner graphic arts development piece. Everything from commercial, designs or just fun art designs it will be able to make and with enough practice you can make masterpieces. Now on making animations and pro editing videos I'm not sure. But is a great device for camera surveillance with Ring, Nest. Perfect for streaming awesome for drawing, Perfect for documents signing and handling. Perfect for gaming, Emulation, media control and Perfect to keep kids relaxed when you need to

detailedReviews 89: content: I bought this watch in august. I have been using it since. The battery life is great, the health tracking features are nice. I do have a few complaints. The AGES index is a scam. Everybody that has this watch and the Watch 7 all have the same exact ages index. Not cool, release an actual product or not at all. Ever since I upgraded from the galaxy watch classic to the watch 4 I had to buy a variant of a fallout pip-boy watch face that is less informative than the last. when I got the Watch 4, that had a new os understandably. However, I do not understand why I could not use the same watch face from the watch 4 on this Ultra. There is yet another pip-boy watch face, but it is very barebones and not very informative. Also, the default band is very uncomfortable and the Fabric band that came as a pre-order bonus is comfy, but I would like something a little more stylish or colorful. $80 for a proprietary watch band is a bit much. There needs to be more apps and the media app developers should not be the ones that decide if I can play music through the speaker. The Galaxy Buds 2 pro don't exactly last long enough when I am doing yard work, so being forced to stop listening because youtube music or spotify wants to be stingy about listening to music on my watch instead of earbuds is very annoying.

detailedReviews 90: content: I've had my Galaxy Watch Ultra for a few weeks now and I am disappointed with the lack of accuracy with the heart rate monitoring. For the record, I like Samsung have owned multiple Samsung phones, tablets, and even buy Samsung tablets for our company.
I have used various brands of heart rate monitors for training since the early 1990s. My Galaxy Watch Ultra seems fine just walking around but on simple workouts like spin biking or walking on a treadmill my heart rate will shoot up to 40 to 100 bpm higher than what it actually is. For example, tonight it showed my heart rate at 213 bpm when a chest strap monitor and manual measurement both showed my heart rate was 100 bpm. This has happened 4 or 5 times in just the few weeks I've had it.
I've tried restarting the watch before exercise and making sure the watch is about 1 finger width above the wrist and comfortably snug.
I'm so let down with the performance that I have actually purchased a different brand heart rate monitor since purchasing my Galaxy Watch Ultra just a month ago.
I like the watch itself except for the HR inaccuracy. Unfortunately, the primary reason I bought it was for HR monitoring during training.

title: Disappointed with heart rate monitoring inaccuracy
detailedReviews 91: content: It is a wonderful upgrade from my previous Galaxy Watch. Plenty of nice features and the look is great. The Galaxy watch helped me in the past and this Ultra is not disappointing. The battery life is awesome. I pretty much wear it all the time and found it very accurate on sleep monitoring. I'm knocking down 1 star because of the following:
1- Despite the watch is capable to do so, related software in the USA does not allow measuring of blood pressure. This is essential in my opinion and a must have. I was very disappointed to learn this feature is not supported in the USA yet.
2- When the night mode is activated, the watch's face light can't be turned on unless night mode is turned off. This is also something needs to be worked on as the face light is mostly needed at night.
3- The watch does not allow customization of the back button on double clicking. I do understand that this is not possible as the button is dedicated to "back" on single click. But how about the settings allow to have the "back" feature on double click so the button will be free to customize on single click? Samsung can have "back" on default single click unless the user chooses to otherwise customize.
I do recommend this watch. It is stylish, durable, and lovely to wear. I wish the blood pressure feature gets activated on ASAP.

detailedReviews 92: content: Coming from an Apple Watch Ultra 1st Gen, this watch is a bit of a mixed bag. It looks really nice aesthetically, but the polished chrome does already have scratches a week into owning it. Battery life is good, seems like it could last 2-4 full days if not using GPS heavy apps. The display is good, but I preferred the square face on the Apple Watch Ultra better. It is also a little bulkier on the wrist vs Apple. Where I have been underwhelmed is the apps for the watch. I golf a lot and my preferred golf app doesn't register when I start a round on my phone, so I can't use the watch and phone together. Small annoyances where the apps just aren't as polished make this a step down from the Apple Watch. Accessories are also an issue for this watch. There are not a lot of bands out there that are good quality, and Samsung does not have near enough in house options. Also, this will not work with any wireless charging devices you may have used from your apple watch. I had a Morphie and Belkin 3-1 charger I had used for home and travel that are now useless because Samsung has different magnets in their watch, so you need a Samsung charger to charge it.

detailedReviews 93: content: Some people may not be a fan of the new design but I quite like it. It's very sleek and the orange accents really pop. The titanium frame is sturdy and looks/feels well made. The 3000 knit peak brightness is very much appreciated as well. That alone is deserving of the "Ultra" title in my opinion. During outdoor workouts or activities in general I can actually see the time and my vitals. The OS is snappy. It does not leave you wanting more or feeling bummed out about performance. It's quite impressive. I also enjoy the new watch band tech. It's so easy to remove and swap. I just wish there were more options!
The size definitely takes some getting used to. This watch is massive and would be great for a larger person or someone who just enjoys/needs the bigger screen. I'm tall myself and I rather enjoy having the larger screen so it was really perfect for me. There are a plethora of helpful apps and tools that are great for daily use and are enjoyable to use on the watch. This truly feels like the perfect companion for your phone.
That said, to truly utilize all of the functions of this watch, you need to have a Galaxy phone. I would like the option to have all the features even if I were to use a different phone. Other than that, it's a great product and if you're on the fence, it's definitely worth a try!

detailedReviews 94: content: Hello I really liked the design and battery life of this watch. It performed really well, the screen is crisp and bright, and the UI was super smooth. The new processor is way snappier than prior generations. Very little chop.
For the cons: I couldn't find many apps I use daily on competitor watches. Vehicle remote apps, garage apps, et c.... all missing. It wouldn't sync the apps I have on my android phone, and it wouldn't sync my work calendar to the watch due to the way they handle work profiles . The reply and voice reply features are a little slow to initialize each time. Downloading previously owned watch faces from the play store is clunky. If it's not already in the wear app, it's going to be hard to find.
Overall, it just doesn't feel very 'ultra' to me and the software support isn't there yet.
For context I switch between brands constantly and know what each has to offer. At the end of the day I have to return this. It's missing too many features and apps for my workflow given what the competition is offering. I may as well just have my phone with me. If you do not use many apps with your watch, I would recommend it.

detailedReviews 95: content: First of all battery life sucks on most so called smart watches so I don't recommend any of them, the reason I bought mine was cause I do plumbing, so that while I'm under neither a sink I could answer my phone, but the battery dies before the day is over and I work an 8hr day, this doesn't last so it's useless for me. The battery life is one problem the other is I whish they could make a phone watch that doesn't need a phone connected to it, that it can connect to the cellphone towers without the need for a phone! Like Dick Tracy cartoons, that would be the Idea smart watch, with a true AI inside, one that speaks like a true human and not a Robot! This would be an Idea companion in your pocket. So until you creat a tech watch like that! I will keep away from smart watches cause smart watches are not smart, their just plain assistants giving only info that's been given to it, true AI searches for the true answer than would give you the answer, from reliable sources, but AI now searches the web and says on the web page so so .com states! ? How do you know this source of info is reliable? You don't cause it's not sure if its from reliable sources.

detailedReviews 96: content: Upgraded only for sleep apnea detection. It works at detecting sleep apnea. But it is lacking in details of sleep apnea as in how many times you actually stop breathing and when. Just says moderate or severe sleep apnea detected or not detected. I want details so that I can see if sleep apnea prevention devices, weight change, drug and alcohol consumption changes improve my sleep apnea condition. This watch won't do that for you which is very frustrating.
The Altimeter function doesn't work. There is no way to calibrate it. Samsung tech support couldn't help me except to point me to an Alti Barometer app. The Alti Barometer app isn't compatible with this watch. I'm an aviator and mountain hike and really wanted an Altimeter function. Maybe this is being devoloped but for now, it's a waste of a barometer on the watch. Another frustrating shortcoming. This Ultra Watch needs to have this function working and fairly accurate.

detailedReviews 97: content: I love Samsung products. I have a Samsung cell phone, vacuum cleaner, TV, tablet, etc., so I decided to buy the Galaxy Watch Ultra when it came out, mostly because of the health functions, especially blood pressure monitoring.
I noticed that when I calibrate the watch, it always measures my blood pressure around the values it was calibrated to. For example, if during calibration my blood pressure is 125/65, no matter what my actual blood pressure is, it will measure around that value. This is absolutely misleading information and should not be allowed.
For instance, one day my BP was low at 100/55 when the watch prompted me to calibrate. After calibrating, every time I used the watch to measure my BP, it gave me readings in that range. Concerned, I measured my BP with acuff-based monitor, and found it was actually 140/85, while the watch showed 103/62—a significant difference.
Also battery life not adequate, some days won't last to evening some days day and a half. Prior to this, I had a Huawei watch pro, and the batter life was one week.

detailedReviews 98: content: I've had this watch for about a month now, I wanted a smart watch to track workouts and sleep habits and was really excited to try it out. I went with the more expensive galaxy watch ultra because I read that the battery life was notably better than the watch 7. Not sure which watch those people were reviewing, but it certainly couldn't have been the chronically low battery watch ultra. The sleep tracking is all but useless. In spite of trying all the troubleshooting tips provided by Samsung to fix it (multiple times), it's still only recording a small portion of the night. I'm curious to know what I've been doing with all my free time between 1 and 4 in the morning, since apparently I'm not sleeping. The only feature that I've had success with is workout tracking, though, its hard to trust the accuracy of those results, given the underwhelming performance with every other aspect of this watch.
Gave it an extra star because the cellular capabilities allow me to leave my phone home when working out. Which is cool, I guess.

detailedReviews 99: content: The new Galaxy watch Ultra is almost perfect. The watch has a very vibrant display that is easily readable in bright sunlight and can go bright enough that the torch feature is actually useable in an emergency. Connecting it to my Samsung phone was very easy and quick. The included strap feels strong but has a smooth soft feel that is comfortable to wear for long periods. The battery life is amongst the best I have ever had on a smart watch and usually can power through 2 to 3 days between chargers. This despite using it for the odd run and having multiple notifications coming throughout the day. Speaking of running the GPS is accurate and quick to lock on making this the first Samsung smartwatch that I could rely on for tracking my exercises. Being able to pay for things on my watch whilst out is also extremely helpful. This along with 4G connectivity mean I can legitimately leave my phone at home whilst out running safe in the mind that I can make contact with people if I need to.
The only slightly negative points are that the magnet on the charger could be stronger. I found that while charging it on the way to work in the car the watch could easily get knocked off the charger without it being obvious. I would also like to be able to connect sensors to the watch. Not being able to use my chest strap HR monitor is disappointing but hopefully something that could be corrected in firmware upgrades. Not being able to use reverse charge on my phone to charge the watch was really disappointing but this was slightly alleviated when I discovered I can charge the watch by plugging the charger in to the USB on my device. This is at least a solution but it does require carrying the cable at all times.
Overall I would say unless you are an athlete that requires lots of really accurate data on multiple sports this watch can do everything that you need and is my opinion is by far the best watch Samsung has ever produced.

detailedReviews 100: content: I had an S22 Ultra and the camera was superb. I did have a serious defect with the motherboard on that phone, which had to be replaced. As such, when my mobility contract came up for renewal I chose to "upgrade" to the new S24 Ultra. What a massive disappointment! I use my phone camera all the time for my social media postings and the camera on the S24 Ultra has horrible "zoom" quality. When taking a longer distance picture, the object becomes blurry and pixilated.
I am so dissatisfied that when my contract comes due, I will likely find another brand phone. I have used Samsung phones for many years but will be looking at their competitors. I have had a Note 3, Note 5, S20 Ultra, S22 Ultra and now the S24 Ultra. It seems that Samsung's camera quality is going in the wrong direction and it is not worth the large retail price point the phone comes with.
Also, the camera really struggles to take pictures of objects that are close up. In fact, it won't focus and will not snap the picture. As such, I have had to abandon some pictures I wanted to take.
Very disappointed!

detailedReviews 101: content: Overall the watch is a solid upgrade from my watch 5 pro.
Looking back, if I knew it would be such an issue, I wouldn't have done a pre-order of this watch.

detailedReviews 102: content: This watch has absolutely insane features ! You have to experience picking up/declining a call without touching the watch. Voice assistant works well for my constant timers and calling at work. I like the hands-free experience. Syncs very well with my s24 ultra. Very Happy with my purchase at a discounted rate at Best Buy! Totally worth the price.

detailedReviews 103: content: I have, for the most part, enjoyed the 7 Ultra. A little disappointing.

detailedReviews 104: content: The Ultra does a fantastic job at utilizing Galaxy AI in keeping track of my workouts and sleeping routines.
All in all, I'm very happy with the smart watch.

detailedReviews 105: content: . the Galaxy Watch Ultra, is a real head-turner. With its sturdy titanium frame, super bright display, and a ton of health and fitness features, it’s made for adventure and performance. just want a reliable companion for my daily life, this watch delivers speed, reliability, and style. Connectivity to wearable app is seamless and easy readability to heart rate monitoring via its sensor
The new Quick Button and emergency siren are actually pretty handy, and the upgraded chip makes everything feel super responsive. Battery life is decent, around 2–3 days, though not quite the “Ultra” some might expect.
You may feel it’s a bit bulky to wrist, however it’s light and hardly noticeable when sleeping with it.
Overall, it’s a feature-packed, tough smartwatch with a lot to love

detailedReviews 106: content: The worst purchase made ever! Bought the Samsung Pro Watch with the Earbud Pro, and they don't sync easily with my Samsung Galaxy Pro phone. Bluetooth connection is not seamless! Keeps getting disconnected and it's a nightmare to get the earned to play from the watch instead of the phone! Just keeps getting disconnected!!!! What is the point of that then! Then to use the watch to make payment as well that just keeps disconnecting, especially if my phone is not nearby! What a joke! Asking for support and questions itself from the store here is another joke, they don't know. Amazingly USELESS! Battery lifespan is another joke, doesn't last much if you do get a connection to use the earbuds to play sportify from the watch, within 4 hours the watch battery is almost 50% gone. Charges fast I give you that, but drains fast as well. So how do you expect me to wear the watch to sleep to monitor my sleep and get charged? MY BIGGEST REGRET EVER from Samsung!!!

detailedReviews 107: content: 2019 I was riding my road bike when I stopped at a light.
Thank you Samsung for everything!

title: Samsung watch saved my life, grateful for features
detailedReviews 108: content: I’ll start by saying that I have owned the last 2 generation of the galaxy watch classic and that each time there has been great upgrades and improvements. I love the look and feel, it’s premium as an ultra watch should be.

detailedReviews 109: content: Battery life on this watch is horrible. What's the point of having a smart watch if it won't do any of the smart things.

detailedReviews 110: content: I ordered the Galaxy Watch Ultra at the same time as my Galaxy S25 Ultra, and both were delivered the same day.
Aside from this, I like the watch, just hoping they fix this issue sooner than later.

detailedReviews 111: content: Rugged and nice looking.
