detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: First of all, the blue colour for the Soundlink Max looks so nice. It has a bright and warm blue colour, which I love.
Not only that, but the level of bass on this (especially when you crank the bass to +10 in the EQ on the Bose app) is very impressive for its size. I have a few other speakers from other brands that are similar in size to the Max, but the Max outshines them in terms of how powerful and punchy the bass is.
I really appreciate the fact that it has an Aux connection, as other speakers don't always have them. Both the TV's in my house don't have bluetooth enabled on them, so having a cable that connect to both the speaker and TV is very handy to have, as I would have to use a separate bluetooth transmitter otherwise.
While the speaker sounds good as it is straight out of the box, I would recommend increasing the bass to +10 (if you love bass of course), the mids to +5 and the treble to +10. Doing this not only increases the volume, but it makes the speaker much more vibrant and clear in its sound.
Overall, I am very pleased with this speaker and I managed to get a really good offer for it as well.
10/10

detailedReviews 2: content: Bought this because I have been very happy with all my Bose products over the years. I have a Bose Soundlink Micro and Flex. Both of which I've been impressed with the size/output ratio. I bought the Max to use at my work space which is an automotive shop. But I was left wanting more from this speaker despite its hefty size. The bass output was especially disappointing and disappears almost entirely in the upper volume ranges. Even using it in my 1200 sqft apartment I was left wanting more from this speaker. Especially given the hefty price tag of this unit. Also the soft plastic skin may look very nice and give it a classy feel. But its hardly what youd call durable and picks up all the dust and dirt from every surface. After only a couple days I ended up returning it. I do appreciate Bose for their 90 day returns. Might try out the larger S1 pro next to see if it meets my needs better. Overall though, this speaker was disappointing in its performance given the price point.

Best Feature:Sound Quality
Performance:10/10
My update after 3 weeks of almost daily use...
First of all, this is a speaker that takes time to break in. It takes time to open up and perform to its full potential. Out of the box, I wasn't all that impressed with it, but after about 3 days of use I began to notice the sound literally changing, as if "waking up". Then it just got better and better from there. At almost 3 weeks, I can say that it still keeps on getting better and better. Trust me, this isn't just placebo. There are songs/ frequencies where it used to struggle but now handles perfectly! To anyone out there who wants to try this speaker, don't judge the way it sounds right off the box. Give it time to properly break in. 3 weeks to 1 month is my estimate (or an equivalent of 50 hrs of use)
Now, about the sound quality. The sound signature of this speaker can be described as creamy, luxurious, rich, smooth, warm-ish and non-fatuguing. It's a very well-balanced sound that is very versatile and can handle all kinds of music genres from hard and heavy rock to acoustic/ lighter forms of music. It's a very pleasing, well- rounded sound and so tastefully engineered. Props to Bose! Suffice to say that it sounds as good as it looks! Just look at how beautifully designed this product is in terms of aesthetics and acoustics! You can sort of tell that it's gonna produce quality sound just by looking at it and holding it and touching it. By the way, this thing is a little heavy and compact-feeling. It's got some nice weight to it, which sort of enhances the sense of a premium and well-built product made with quality materials.
This is highly recommended and I look forward to purchasing another one to stereo pair it with. Which could bring the experience to a whole new level. What is already amazing could be taken even further...
Pros: -Sound Quality is topnotch
-Beautiful aesthetic/ design philosophy
-Great battery life (I only have to charge it once a week)
-Premium build, very durable feeling
-Great portability
Cons: -Expensive
-Silicone body attracts dust & hair
-Battery drains slightly when not in use
-Slight clipping on some songs at max volume

title: Product Quality:10/10 Best Feature:Sound Quality Performance:10/10 My update...
detailedReviews 4: content: This this is build like a tank, My first impression is WOW...this thing is heavy and that's not an exaggeration, Its super heavy and not like any other speaker I have tried. Its relatively compact for a big speaker the length and height are just right in my opinion but it is thick or deep but my god this thing weighs a ton. Its feels solid and well made, all surfaces are a soft touch silicone shell that feels nice. Despite the weight it is comfortable to carry due to its excellent handle, its a soft silicone grip that conforms to your hand, has good grip and makes carrying it quite pleasant. Everything about the look and feel is top quality and the buttons have good tactile feel. Its totally waterproof so taking it outrdoors is not a problem and if it does gert wet or dirty the silicone shell is easy to clean up and it doesn't really show wear. The silicone also does a good job of keeping vibrations and buzzing at bay.
Initial setup was easy to pair with my iphone, and the app is easy to use, but unfortunately the new app doesn't work with my older Bose soundtouch speaker. You can check the speaker battery level in the app but it doesn't show up in the iphone bluetooth battery meter which is a bit disappointing. It has s shortcut button to automatically connect to a streaming service but only one is available (I think spotify?), and I don't use that one, they need to add pandora please. My speaker came at 70% batter level and it took 3 hours to get a full charge which is super slow, but on the plus side it did come with a wall wart USB-C charger which is nice since now days manufactures usually don't include one.
Now finally onto the sound, WOW...super big and full sound, best I have heard from a portable bluetooth speaker. Its clear and gets loud with a deep full bass that is quite surprising when you look at its size. I guess that extra heft really makes a difference. The sound on axis when you're directly in front of it is superb. But if you're off axis and onto the side it doesn't sound as crisp with something lacking. I haven't tested the 20 hours runtime, but it has lasted me all day (8 hours) at a moderate level, so running out of juice should not be a problem. The build quality and sound are top notch, the only negative thing I can say is the weight, it just weighs so much that carrying it around will be a chore for sure.

detailedReviews 5: content: The Bose SoundLink Max is the latest iteration to the SoundLink family, a well respected line up of portable Bluetooth speakers. Does this one live up the name, and as its own name suggests, provide the Maximum experience? Lets take a listen and find out.
The packaging is clean and straightforward, with an emphasis on minimal use of plastic or Styrofoam. Refreshingly, the speaker comes with both a USB-C cable and a high wattage charger, bucking a recent trend of not including chargers with products. Other than those two items, some basic documentation, and the speaker, there is nothing else in the box.
The speaker itself looks like a grown up version of the SoundLink Flex. It has side grilles for the passive radiators, a set of buttons on the top, and the carrying handle. It’s an understated design with no flashing lights or other gimmicks, which is what a speaker should be, in my opinion. The Blue Dusk color is very on trend and looks great. Inside, the speaker features two woofers and a tweeter, and does support stereo sound, which is nice to not have to link two smaller speakers together. It also supports Bluetooth 5.4, finally moving the line away from the older Bluetooth 4 standards. Another nice include is an analog audio input, letting you connect it to any number of devices, like a turntable if you are hopping on the vintage audio trend of late. You can also use the battery in the speaker to reverse charge your phone or other device by plugging it into the USB-C port. I do wish there were dust covers on the ports to keep sand and liquids out of them, especially the aux input port. If you are going to take it outside you might want to get a couple of dust plugs for the ports to keep stuff out of there.
After charging the speaker the recommendation is to connect it and use the Bose app to configure things like the EQ, apply any product updates, and customize the shortcut button. Weirdly, the shortcut button right now has just two options – configure it to switch to the line in input, or be kind of an oddly hacked up interface only for Spotify. I left it at input switching. You don’t have to use the Bose app if you don’t want to, but a few controls do require connecting it to the app from time to time.
After connecting, it’s time for a listen. It’s immediate that this by far has the most bass of any SoundLink speaker to date. It’s not room shaking, as there are limits to the size and power of a portable speaker, but it is present for sure. It also has a very wide stereo sound stage, remarkably so for a smaller speaker, especially at the sweet spot of about 4-5 feet away. Bose is claiming they are using some of their virtual surround enhancements normally reserved for a soundbar in here, and there is kind of an uncanny depth to some audio tracks that does sound more like a surround sound setup than just stereo. It may also lead to kind of an overprocessed sound on occasion, with Charle Puth’s “Left and Right” (which I used to test the stereo separation) having an oddly distorted sound at some moments in the drums. This could either be an issue with the track’s encoding or how the speaker is processing it, and Bose may still be working the kinks out of how their sound processing works with this specific speaker. I found the speaker with the default EQ to be a little bright and actually a little lacking in bass when used outside. I tuned the EQ to +5 bass and -2 treble to find what I found to be a more balanced sound. It can get SUPER loud at full volume. Overall, it sounds good, which at this premium price point, it should.
As anyone with other SoundLink speakers know, one feature of the SoundLink family is the ability to link SoundLink speakers together in a “party mode” to spread sound around a space. Sadly, this speaker, despite the name SoundLink, does not actually link to any of its SoundLink cousins. In fact, it uses the Bose app, not the Bose Connect app, so it sits outside of the SoundLink line and only seems to share the name and the look. That said, this speaker is quite capable of filling a space with sound on its own, and having stereo means you don’t need two speakers linked together for stereo sound. You can link it to some other Bose smart speakers as well, but it's still a little odd that the SoundLink Max can’t link to the other SoundLink speakers.
Overall, this is an expensive, premium portable speaker that punches well above its size. Showing up at a party with it or using it when you have guests over will almost certainly get comments about how much sound is coming out of this still relatively compact package. Portable, modern Bluetooth and charging capabilities, and still having an analog input make for a well rounded speaker that will keep your party rocking for hours.

title: The Bose SoundLink Max is the latest iteration...
detailedReviews 6: content: Having been a user of various Bose products over the years, Bose really is in a new age of audio quality. My most recent purchases of the QC Ultra & Ultra Open Earbuds have demonstrated the new direction for Bose. They have always been synonymous with premium quality and sound, but they have really been working on the latter in the last year. There is a depth & clarity to the audio that shines through. I took a listen to some of my older Bose products for reference and soon realised they lack the upfront surefootedness of current Bose products. The modern age of Bose provides a customisable experience also, just head to the app for EQ settings to tune to your liking. This brings me to their latest product the Bose Soundlink Max. From the new style of colour packaging (departing the white, black & grey of Bose past) this hypes the Max with it is subtle hints to flaming bright orange & red. Unboxing the Max is as easy as ever just don’t miss the operational hints on the inside of the box. Unwrapping the Max from the protective packaging reveals a small & weighty form factor speaker, I like to think of it as a symphonic lunchbox. It is well made in premium quality materials and the silicone/rope handle adds a flair to the speaker. Although it shares visual ques to its smaller sibling the Soundlink Flex, the Max is in a different league entirely from an audio perspective. A USB-C cable is provided to charge and once it is at 100% get ready for the Max to shine! Any genre you throw at the Max will be reproduced with a stereo room-filling sound & bass that makes you question the size of the speaker. The audio separation is impressive which is helped by the angled drivers (articulated array) within the Max, and you can feel the bass from the speaker. Then its party piece, it can be carried anywhere you want to take the sound. BBQ, beach, forest, garden, bedroom, the choice is yours! I have also found it is fantastic for watching movies as a substitute for a soundbar. There are a few little negatives to this speaker such as a lack of microphone for taking calls, and the silicone acts as a dust magnet. As a Bose fan I could justify the price but if you are unsure head to a retailer to experience it for yourself in person. The biggest negative for me is the one-way sound, it does not provide 360-degree sound. Position is key for the Max, and you really must be in front of it for it to deliver the best audio quality, however it does go more than loud enough to fill a room or garden space, but just bear in mind its position. I have found the Soundlink Max to be a fun & detailed way to listen to music and it really does have you questioning its size once you hear just how much sound this speaker can push out of its casing. Its primary function is to reproduce Bose quality sound in a versatile, portable & rugged speaker that reflects the ‘Sound is Power’ tagline from Bose. In summary this is has become one of my favourite Bose products that can highlight the capabilities of the brand. Get ready for a chilled listening experience with a coffee, sit back and put your favourite movie on, or gather your friends for a party. The Soundlink Max truly is a versatile speaker and is there to be enjoyed, wherever you want to go!

title: Having been a user of various Bose products...
detailedReviews 7: content: I have been a fan of the quality products produced by Bose for the past 15 years and this new addition absolutely lives up to the name.
For years I have used the original SoundLink Mini for some music at small friends & family gatherings and it has worked a treat. The Max, however, is a cut above - it can produce a much louder sound maintaining the clarity but providing a nice bass.
I have taken it to a family BBQ, and it impressed all with its amazing sound in a surprisingly small size. Don't get me wrong, this is big for a Bluetooth speaker, but the comfortable carrying handle makes it perfectly portable. (However, the handle is removable if you're so inclined.) I am looking forward to using it in the garden with friends over the summer.
The speaker is largely covered in a rubbery coating which prevent it from slipping about on a smooth surface but can be a bit of a magnet for dust/crumbs.
The Bose app makes it easy to connect to and set up - you can play around with the EQ to your liking - I was listening to a podcast and the host's voice was a bit to bassy but that was easily fixed in the app - an area for improvement would be some more/customisable EQ pre-sets.
The app also indicates battery life - I haven't fully tested it, but the life has been plenty for my sessions so far. My phones battery is a different story but there is the fantastic feature of being able to use the speaker as a charger. The USB-C port and included USB-C to USB-C cable can be used for both charging and using the SoundLink Max as a charger for another device.
The aux port is a nice touch to increase the connection options, but I haven't had much need for it with the excellent Bluetooth range.
The price may feel a little high for a Bluetooth speaker but, from years of experience with Bose products, I feel assured that the quality will last for a very long time making it great value. If you find yourself out and about with the need for some music with friends, I would highly the SoundLink Max.

title: I have been a fan of the quality...
detailedReviews 8: content: We are the biggest BOSE fans. Recently spent CAN$3500 refreshing sound w two 700 bass modules and ultra soundbars in home, early 2025. Everywhere is Bose here, literally.
Purchased two (2) of these Soundlink Max (full MSRP CAN$1300 w taxes) to link - were going for maximum potential to satisfy in way Bose does so well.
Disappointed. Returning after 24 hours.
The Bose app EQ could not be adjusted to consistently remove flat thud of bass. EQ needed very high treble and near zero bass to sound normal, like Bose. Like cardboard, old blown like, on both units, if bass on 1 or more.
We do not play max volume. Quality is key goal and volume follows it when dialed in.
Are these units tuned differently?
Some high res music recordings sounded ok but the usual balanced tone and feel of Bose was unusually absent if bass turned up, always. A variety of high res 32 bit YT mixes or high quality studio recordings (IE Steely Dan, Gaucho) were better. But clearly couldn't turn the bass up (beyond 1) on anything to get the nice clean sound were used to.
Outdoors use w water resistance nice. The link feature is awesome.
Value just not there for normal semi-audiophile quality for this money.
Ratings online are mediocre, not best, music score "7.4" on RTINGS? People on Bose reviews talk of lots of bass.
Too bad. 😥

detailedReviews 9: content: I bought this product with the expectation that it would be a bass power house. I can for sure tell you it beat my expectation. Though its not the loudest kid on the block it for sure delivers crisp sound and amazingly good bass for its size of speakers. Now given its multiple speakers its battery life isnt as great at high volume. Now if you have it at a decent medium high volume it will last a good 6 to 8 hours on an single charge. Im a diesel tech and it delivers perfectly in a loud environment like mine. Made with good quality and a good battery. I cant forget the connectivity, with a long range i can walk awayy with my phone about 20 feet and it still plays really well.
In essence the down side is the battery does drain quick at high volume but thats due to asking it for everything it has.
Not the loudest but delivers great bass
Not fully portable but great size for its sound.
I will definitely continue to invest in Bose products.

detailedReviews 10: content: This is another exceptional creation in Bose's portable speaker category since SoundLink mini special edition.
This is a wonderful blue SoundLink Max speaker, a bigger brother of mini special edition, comes with a 5v 3amp charger with a USB C cable. The high quality build material of the speaker makes comfortable to hold. I especially like the soft feel of buttons. The Bluetooth connection is a breeze to connect. It is a convenient size to move around between rooms. It reports battery remaining percentage when the speaker is turned on.
I also compare with B&O A2, a speaker at the same price point. It has deeper bass and warmer sound than A2. The addition of Bose app with Equalizer adjustment enhances sound enjoyment further. It sounds rich even during low volume.

title: This is another exceptional creation in Bose's portable...
detailedReviews 11: content: I'm old enough to remember when Bose was new to the mainstream commercial market and a home that had their Wave system was 'high-falutin'. I cut my teeth on Bose products when I finally had money of my own and was stepping into the audiophile world. I quickly moved past Bose into the ethereal realms of speakers and headphones, but always had a soft spot for Bose, even though it seemed like they were consistently getting beat at their own game. Well, I was pleasantly surprised to see and hear Bose come out swinging with the SoundLink Max.
TL:DR - It deserves to be on the shortlist for anyone looking for an outstanding portable bluetooth speaker. It's the first portable BT speaker to even come close to acing my audiophile test playlist.
Here is what I like about the SoundLink Max:
Sound Quality: I kinda feel like this has taken a back seat for a lot of portable BT speakers as of late. Many people prioritize the portability or battery life of a system over pure sound quality. Understandable since if you can't take it with you, or if it doesn't play long enough, the quality really doesn't matter. You don't have to compromise on sound with the SoundLink Max. Even though I stopped chasing the holy grail of audiophile sound (it got WAY too expensive), I do still utilize my test playlist with all my new sound gear, and the Max is the first portable bluetooth speaker I've owned that could even come close to nailing each test. Everything from depth, impact, focus, transients, and resonance were spectacular. Of course it can't get proper separation due to the closeness of the speakers (but a paired set might just do it), but no single point system can do that.
The only test that it even tripped over was part of the bass response, and I'm having trouble isolating whether that is an actual issue with the speaker or if it is something else. On some dance/R&B tracks with certain bass segments, there is a 'stutter' in one frequency set. It's weird, and it only pops up in certain songs. It could very well be an artifact from processing or the original production. Other than that, the SoundLink Max has an impressively controlled bass response which has usually been a weak point for BT speakers and Bose in particular.
Looks: My wife loves the Blue Dusk color and the SoundLink Max design itself is simple and clean. I don't need disco lights nor do I need it to look like some alien spaceship. I also dig the rope handle, which I guess can be swapped out for a longer shoulder rope strap but that's not for me.
Battery Life: Bose says you get 20 hours at moderate volume, but I spent six hours with the audiophile test and just regular music yesterday and a good three hours so far this morning just working in my office and the speaker is still reporting 100%! Now I hope that's not an error with the software but the weight of this speaker makes me think that it has some solid battery capacity built into it.
Charge Capability: Unlike a few portable speakers I've utilized lately, the SoundLink Max will charge your phone if you plug it into the USB-C port. Always a nice feature.
Durability/IP Rating: The Bose SoundLink Max feels solid and sturdy, plus the rubberized coating all lead you to feel that it can take some abuse and still keep rocking. That, and the fact that you can replace the handle if needed, all give me a good feeling that I'll be using this speaker for years to come. The solid IP67 (and weirdly secondary IP64) rating also mean that this is a great speaker to take out and about, whether it is to the pool, beach, desert, or wherever you may roam.
Phone App: Simple and clean. Always appreciate that.
What I don't like as much (but none are very big issues):
Weight: Despite being a relatively compact speaker, you could probably do some serious damage to someone if you were to swing this at them. Perhaps Bose should consider marketing it as a self-defense item or perhaps a stylish exercise weight. It's nothing egregious, but it has some heft to it.
Equalizer: While I appreciate that the app is clean and simple, and that the equalizer is easy to adjust, I would appreciate some better presets, or better yet, the ability to save my own. Hopefully this will come out in a future app update.
I am VERY happy with the Soundlink Max and I look forward to years of great sounding music no matter where I may be.

detailedReviews 12: content: Bose Soundlink Max has almost all the necessary specifications of an excellent bluetooth speaker. I bought it on sale and with an additional discount from Bose on the first purchase. I paid $316.83 including tax. At that price it is acceptable but not $400.00. I love the powerful and undistorted sound, the clarity of the reproduction, the size and also the geometric aesthetics. Bose is generous in its trial policy with 90 days for return. My whole family is delighted with Soundlink Max and several friends have also liked it. I have a comment from my older son "daddy that's the best speaker out there." I'm satisfied to have bought it. I already wrote that it is not perfect: 1- It cannot be turned on or off remotely.2- The application has an equalizer that is too basic.3-For that price it should include a protector. I highly recommend this speaker and I am happy to own it.

detailedReviews 13: content: We have a couple other portable speakers and this one is destined to become our defacto pool and beach speaker. The form factor reminds me of an old school boombox and it has the output to easily match and exceed the ones of my youth. This thing gets loud, with the volume cranked all the way up it could easily be heard 100 feet away quite clearly. I tested it in my single-story house and it was audible through doors at the opposite side of the house. It comes close to rivaling a TV soundbar.
I appreciate the removable handle, it comes off pretty easily when you try to remove it but it seems sturdy and unlikely to come off accidentally. I'll probaby get the longer carying cord when it is available just to make carrying it on excursions easier.
The ability to charge your device while using the speaker is great, though it obviously cuts into how long the battery lasts it can save you from bringing a separate charger. Also, the speaker works normally while it is charging too in case you find yourself near an outlet and it is running low on juice. The battery does last a long time but I imagine a full day at the beach near full volume you could run out after 8 hours. In my test of charging my phone while playing music at about 50% of the volume it was loosing about 10% of the battery per hour.
The Bluetooth worked well, the connection remained strong even at about 50 feet away with no crackling. The aux also worked as expected, though i don't plan to use it since basically everything we have uses Bluetooth and none of our phones even have an aux port.
Overall, this is a really great speaker that puts out a lot of sound for a long time. The one downside is the rubberized outside of the case. If you have pets that shed, it seems to pick up their hair pretty easily. This might also be a minor nuisance with small sand particles; I tested pouring some sea salt on it and after a quick shake there was still a fair amount of small granules left. The salt did come off once I wiped it off with a damp paper towel, but the hairs were a bit more difficult to remove. This doesn't hamper the performance, it is just a minor annoyance and likely the rubber will help protect the speaker from dings and minor impacts.

detailedReviews 14: content: Bose have really outdone themselves with the Soundlink Max. We’ve been incredibly impressed how Bose have managed to produce such a small portable speaker that is capable of pumping out such punchy bass and a crisp and clean sound. No matter the setting this small but mighty speaker has outperformed our expectations from the outset. Indoors I’ve had family members comment that the depth of sound is so rich and natural it feels like the artist is in the room with you and you’re actually at the concert. To top it off the deep and punchy bass the Soundlink Max is able to put out is just unreal too. The Soundlink Max has an IP67 rating which makes it dustproof, waterproof and it FLOATS so whether we’ve been relaxing at home, having a BBQ, washing the cars or when time allows, enjoying some leisure time on the boat, kayaking or camping we’d have no qualms bringing the Soundlink Max with us. The Soundlink Max is deceptively heavy for its size however the handle which is a great addition to the design, feels very secure in how it connects to the speaker and makes carrying it effortless while the silicone coating (although it does seem to attract a little dust) makes cleaning the speaker as easy as giving it a wipe with a clean damp cloth after a day out. A simple and elegant design with the feel and sound quality that I would expect from a Bose product. I can honestly say that Bose with the Soundlink Max have succeeded in producing an incredible little portable speaker capable of producing powerful bass and a beautifully clean sound that is always a pleasure to listen to. Our music can now be enjoyed everywhere we go and true to the words of Bose, Sound is Power, Party to the Max!

If connecting together is an option maybe a new app update or whatever please make 2 products connect together to work as a sterio. The sound is amazing and loud I love it. The base is amazing I just with overall sound tuning can be better. A lot of deep voice with deep base so maybe a little more tribble can be added. In the app I raise but overall base deep voice sound is a lot. Sounds amazing but if able to make the hearing sound better with more tone and tribble added and less deep sound the system would me the best sounding ever. Not sure if I am able to explain well haha but best I can do to help. But do not take away the overall base because I live how small device can have so much base is important. Thank you
Just make 2 sound link max connect as a station I will be happy. thank you again

title: I love the product, but can you have...
detailedReviews 16: content: I recently got my hands on the Bose SoundLink Max, as a loyal bose headphone user who went through three bose headphones, I have to say, bose does not disappoint. This speaker looks amazing right out of the box. It has a sleek, modern design that fits well in any room and the handle feature makes it extremley easy to carry around and also suitable for hanging out with friends in a park. The dustproof and waterproof feature also make it perfect for at beach or by the pool but I haven't had chance to test it out.
The sound quality is super good. Bass is deep and punchy but mids and highs stay clear and crisp. I can also adjust the setting on my phone and everything sounds great whether I'm listening to rock, pop or classical music.
When it comes to battery life, I am amazed on how long it can last. I link it to my laptop when I am watching shows or youtubes at night and I rarely need to charge it, probably once per week. It also comes with the feature to charge phones, which means I can take it out for a whole day withouth worrying about it or my phone dying on me, it's literally a power bank. It's a bit of on the heavy side but who cares when you have this impressive battery life.
Pairing it with my devices was super easy and you can connect to multiple devices seamlessly! One press on the button and you are ready to go. The connection is stable and I can wander pretty far from the speaker without losing the signal. This works like a dream compare with my old bluetooth speaker.
Overall, i am really happy with the Bose SoundLind Max. Solid battery life, great sound, cool design that is both stylish and durable and packed with features that make it easy to use. If you are looking for a portable bluetooth speaker that sounds amazing and can keep up with your on-th-go lifestyle, this is definitely worth checking out.

title: I recently got my hands on the Bose...
detailedReviews 17: content: I’ve liked every Bose device I’ve ever had. The Soundlink Max is my favorite so far. Between it’s size, feature set, battery life, and sound quality, I don’t think you could do better than this speaker.
The first impression as soon as you pick this speaker up is how dense it is. It’s not heavy, just heavier than you would ever expect when you pick it up. The soft-touch main body is pleasant to hold and is well matched to the metal grille and handle. That soft touch covering does pick up fuzz and stuff, but it’s easily wiped off. It has a 3.5mm aux jack for analog sources and a USB-C charging in/out port on the back. The handle is big enough for me to grab with my bear mitts, but small enough to not get in the way. It’s removeable as well, and can be swapped with a longer color-matched rope handle for shoulder carry.
The controls are easy to see and use, feeling quite soft from the silicone shell, but have a nice click to let you know when the button has been pressed. My favorite note about the controls is the power button, you just press it and it turns on, press it and it turns off! No holding the button and counting every time I want to power cycle the speaker.
Though I was a little worried about carrying around and handling this speaker with kid gloves, it has proven weatherproof and pretty resistant to drops. I’ve dropped it twice now, once onto concrete, and it just keeps ticking. I am glad I did not drop it on the front grill, that might have scratched it, but I can barely even feel a little scuff on the corner and no visible damage. I also tested in the rain over the last few days and it’s completely unfazed. I will not be voluntarily submerging my speaker, so I didn’t try that.
I ran the speaker for 6 straight hours outside and it still said (literally) there was 40% battery left. I have not run the battery all the way down to see how long a full charge takes, Bose says it will take 5 hours with the 15W charger and I have no reason to doubt that. You can charge your phone or Walkman with the same port, and it offers a good 15W of output.
Sound quality here is spot on what I expected. It’s clean and full, with strong bass and nice kick drum thumps. There isn’t any sub-bass you’ll be hearing outdoors, perhaps a little more indoors. The highs and mids are very strong, well-articulated if a little harsh when the speaker is at ear level. When the speaker is on the ground or floor, it sounds great. It covers my back patio area of about 40sq feet with clean sound. It manages to have a wide audible area and works well in a corner facing in. Stereo imaging isn’t this guys forte, but outside or listening next to the campfire, that’s not this speaker’s role. It can get very loud as well, sound output is clean and distortion free all the way up the volume scale.
The app is simple, straightforward without a bunch of fiddly controls. It offers battery level and volume at a glance. There is also access to a very simple EQ, which is easy to use and very effective with small adjustments. I like the button to directly access Bluetooth connections and edit them, removing and enabling/disabling devices as needed rather than wiping out all paired devices with a hardware reset. The shortcut (circle) button is factory mapped to switch the speaker to the 3.5mm rear aux jack, this can be changed in the app to resume Spotify and I understand with a second press, it will prompt Spotify to play your discovery queue. This is very nice for someone who uses Spotify, but it did seem to be missing some options for other services… what do I know. The last function of the app is the Tips section, which has instructions and pointers for using the speaker, quite handy. Perhaps the best feature in the app is that Bose is not hiding arbitrary functions behind a forced account creation. Everything works just fine without signing in to Bose, a pleasant surprise.
Overall, this is all the portable speaker I could want, great sound, good looks, good battery life, easy operation, weatherproof, and physically tough. I would recommend it to friends and family without reservation.

title: I’ve liked every Bose device I’ve ever had....
detailedReviews 18: content: Couldn't wait to get my hands on the new Bose Soundlink Max. Unboxing was as easy as it gets. After pulling the unit out of the box, I did a quick factory reset by holding the + and - buttons at the same time for about 5-10 seconds to make sure it was at its factory settings. I also already had the Bose app up and running on my iphone since I have other Bose products throughout the house that I control. If you don't have the app on your phone, I highly recommend doing that. It's very intuitive and makes it easy to connect via bluetooth and gives you control of volume and equalization of the device to your preferred sound quality settings.
The speaker came charged at about 30%, so I would recommend charging it for the full 5 hours as recommended. Product has both a USB-C and auxiliary port, which also comes with the USB-C charger. Bose states the charge has a 20 hour battery life which is pretty exceptional. I have about 6 hours of use so far and battery life still seems good. Note: (I have not tested for the full 20 hours yet).
One thing I like about this speaker is the ability to have two phones dual linked to the Soundlink Max. This is a feature I haven't seen before, but it comes in real handy when I'm busy grilling and my wife can control the music playlist without grabbing my iphone.
The handle makes it super easy to transport from one location to another and reminds me of the old boom boxes I used to carry around in the 80's and 90's but with a more compact feel.
Let's talk about the sound. This for me, is why I rated this new Bose portable speaker a 4 star rating. Since I own a lot of different speakers in my home like Sonos, Bose, and JBL, which all have great Sound quality in my opinion, I naturally have pretty high expectations. I will say the clean sound clarity which is well known in all Bose systems was consistent. The Bass in my opinion based off the size of the speaker was decent, but lacked punch. I was expecting a little more for the price point.
Here are my final thoughts. You can never go wrong with a high quality and reputable brand such as Bose and with that, usually comes a higher price point. There are a lot of positive features with the new soundlink Max at the same time keeping the product simple, compact, and well made. If you are looking for a little stronger cleaner punch in the bass, I think you might find something out there and pay a little less.

detailedReviews 19: content: I have always considered Bose speakers to be deceptively good. They aren't the most configurable so I've read past reviews from audiophiles being somewhat critical that they couldn't make the speakers meet their subjective tastes. I appreciate good sound but am not that user. Bose is designed for easy use and solid sound. This Soundlink Max speaker is really a treat. It's styled after a small boom box. It's only a speaker, via Bluetooth or aux port, but sits like a fun stereo. The grills for the drivers are all hard so no worry of tearing. The edge of the box is rubberized which is fine, but I could see it potentially being sticky as it ages, but I could be mistaken. The handle is comfortable and soft and is connected with braided nylon like rope which is a fun touch. The companion app is free and the Google play store and Apple app store both have it. It was easy and smooth to connect the speaker to both an android phone and an iPhone. The Bose app allows for a multi connection setup so transfer of music was seamless between the devices. There is a three band equalizer in the app too and my tweaking of it did produce detectable changes to the sound but it was not extremely customizable. This would be where someone might ding it, but I was able to tweak it to my liking. Overall the sound is true to Bose' reputation, full, bass rich, the lows, mids and highs all feel substantial, and the sound is not sacrificing tone for power. Considering the size of this device, I'm really surprised by the volume. It totally punches above its size and while it's not the cheapest Bluetooth speaker, it is clearly a high end speaker. I would say there is a place for cheaper options, but if you want a weather resistant, high end sound, this Soundlink Max by Bose is worth the price.

detailedReviews 20: content: Before even opening the box you are met with gorgeous designs on the box itself that just feel premium. Once you open the box the packaging materials are premium as well. By now the suspense should be killing you to get to the product and when you finally hold the Bose Soundlink Max in your hands you know you chose right! This portable speaker (in my opinion) is the best out there!
Pros: the sound/bass that such a small speaker pumps out is BY FAR SUPERIOR than any other speaker I’ve heard. I have two young children at home and this speaker is the perfect companion to inside or outside playtime. I’ve had neighbors ask if I had speakers installed in my backyard because this speaker pumps out which great sound! Another pro is the simple fact that you can remove the handle and replace with a shoulder strap, making this a super portable speaker. I’ve taken the speaker on hikes and it performs all day long is just fantastic. Another pro is the simple fact that the battery in this lasts all day long!
Con: this is actually a pro and con. The rubber feeling material on the outside of the speaker attracts dust like a magnet. Like I said I have two young kids at home as well as a dog and you can definitely tell because the speaker picks up dust. However, the pro side to this is that the material is very easy to clean by just wiping off with a damp rag.
Final opinion: the price tag is fairly hefty for a portable speaker but it is completely worth it! You’ll pay for 3-4 of a cheaper speaker and all of them together won’t equal the Bose Soundlink Max. So if you enjoy music in any way shape or form this is the portable speaker for you!

detailedReviews 21: content: I am on the fence as to what to say about the Bose sound link Max. I've owned Bose speakers for years, and years, and always had really good luck with them. They have terrific sound, and they last a very long time. Why I'm on the fence on this review? I purchased the Bose sound link Max portable, in December. And this is now the end of April, and I'm on my third one. The speaker stopped being able to connect to my iPad and even connect to other devices. So back that one went. The same thing happened to the second speaker that Bose sent me.
I used it about 4 times over a month period of time and all of a sudden it wouldn't accept any connections. When the speaker plays, the sound is absolutely fantastic. But I'm very leery, as to how long the third one is really going to last. I will try an update my review as time goes by because I really, really like Bose a lot. It just seems like this particular model has been prone problems.

detailedReviews 22: content: My overall impression of the SoundLink Max portable speaker is positive. Its physical footprint is larger than that of my previous portable speakers (SoundLink III and Beats Pill+), and it is quite a bit heavier. However, the extended runtime without charging is greatly appreciated. The blue color is also quite attractive compared to the traditional matte black of Bose products.
While Bose touts this product as having "epic stereo sound and deep bass," I found this billing to be a bit oversold. The broad soundstage from the diminutive footprint is impressive, especially indoors. It features a well-defined upper vocal range, but the lower bass frequencies are lacking. They likely have a 100MHz filter enabled to protect the small speaker drivers. I'd describe the bass sound as very musical, almost punchy, but not deep, even after tweaking the EQ settings within the Bose Music app to +3. (Any more muddied the sound.)
My sample speaker did have a bit of a vampire power draw that I still have yet to identify. I'd charge it to 100%, and it drained itself (while powered off) to 70% over the week. I plan to give Bose Support a call to try and troubleshoot.
Overall, I'd say that this product is uniquely placed in the market. It easily keeps the party going in remote areas and offers great sound coverage over a wide area. The "deep bass" still could use some refinement, and at this price point, it is definitely a luxury buy (vs. one of necessity).

detailedReviews 24: content: Bose SoundLink Max in Blue Dusk
Bose has a new set of portable bluetooth speakers that it has named the SoundLink Max line
There are 2 models available in blue or black colors. I am discussing the Dusk Blue model here but both have identical specifications
Approximate sizing is 10.4 inches wide, 6.4 inches high and approximately 4.1 inches deep. The speakers have Bluetooth 5.3
The internal battery, per the Bose specifications on the website, should last up to 20 hours of usage on a charge at moderate volume levels. The specs say a battery charge lasts 3 hours at full volume.
I did not test this water proof feature, but the speakers are also IP67 waterproof and dust-resistant. I don't normally mix water and electronics.
Of good convenience is another set of features: The speaker has both an analog 3.5mm auxiliary input jack and a USB-C port; the USB-C is to both to charge the speaker and charge external devices such as phones, using the internal speaker battery, when circumstances require it. Of course, doing so will reduce the length the speaker will play music. It works to charge my phone.
The sound quality is very robust, rich and filled with both strong bass and bright treble depending on how the Bose app is adjusted for a user’s preference. Let me state that it has quite some strong volume that will cause some of my less exuberant family members to loudly implore me to turn down the volume. It is very good!
Bose has apps available for their Bose headphones and Bose portable speakers that likely are mostly used with mobile devices such as phones, tablets, Chromebooks, and other bluetooth portable music devices. Using that app allows setting the music tone quality (EQ equalizer settings). Really cool. The app is also compatible with Bose SimpleSync to enable a multi room audio environment. I did not test that since this is my only Bose Bluetooth speaker (for now).
There is a feature that powers off the speaker if no sound is transmitted via bluetooth and no control buttons are used for 20 minutes. That time length is adjustable to hours or turned off via the app.
A voice prompt announces the battery level every time the power is turned on, or when being used, if the power button is pushed and held. It also announces the device it is connected to via bluetooth.
It can connect to 2 bluetooth sources at once and mine does announce my Samsung Android phone and my Gigabyte Windows PC when powered up.
BTW: I have grown very much accustomed to using this with my laptop since the sound it produces is FAR superior to my internal tiny speakers as well as other computer speakers.
Recommended with enthusiasm!

title: Bose SoundLink Max in Blue Dusk Bose has...
detailedReviews 25: content: The Verdict: The Bose SoundLink Max Speaker is without a doubt incredible. If you are an audiophile like me, this is a must-have speaker.
I have had many Bose products through the years and they never disappoint. This latest portable SoundLink Max has the word “Max” in its name for a reason.
Setup
Setup is simple, straightforward, and very intuitive. When I received the speaker, it was about halfway charged and took a few hours to charge up to full. Once charged up, pairing it to my iPhone was easy and I also paired it with a computer via Bluetooth. It retains the connection well and pairs right back up when you power it back on, provided the paired device is close enough.
While not required, the Bose App gives you a lot of additional functionality and settings. I would highly recommend using the app to tweak your speaker to your ears’ liking. More on that below.
Use
I can’t say enough how incredible this little speaker is. The form factor is the perfect size for portability and it doesn’t weigh as much as you’d think given the amazing sound it produces. This speaker takes bass to the MAX – it will literally rattle your windows like a small earthquake if you turn the bass all the way up via the app. The sound is rich, full, and sounds like it is coming from a speaker 3-4 times the size of this little mini MAX.
As I mentioned before, the app, while not required, should really be downloaded and utilized. It not only allows you to manage the EQ settings, but allows for Firmware/Software updates, registration/warranty support (if you ever need it),
Battery life has been outstanding. I’ve been using this speaker often for nearly 5 days and I’m still at over 50 percent charged – very impressive. I currently have it placed in a bathroom (separate from the shower) for listening to music in the morning while showering. It’s sound is powerful enough even though it’s in a separate room.
While you can control just about anything and everything from either the app or whatever device you connect via Bluetooth, my only wish is that this speaker came with a remote. I realize this is designed mainly to be a portable speaker, but I would be willing to pay a little more for a remote.
I would highly recommend this speaker to anyone looking for a high quality, reasonably priced portable speaker with outstanding sound quality.

title: The Verdict: The Bose SoundLink Max Speaker is...
detailedReviews 26: content: My parents had a Bose Wave radio “back in the day” and I remember how that device had the ability to make music seem more lifelike and male radio announcers seemed larger than life. I am happy to tell you that this Soundlink Max is even better than my memories. It delivers an EPIC, full, rich sound in an attractive and highly portable package. And you can take it anywhere, because it has an IP67 rated enclosure which means it’s safe from water splashes and dust infiltration. From the manufacturer’s website:
“SoundLink Max is IP67 rated, indicating it has passed rigorous testing conditions proving it will withstand an accidental drop into water up to approximately 3 feet (1 meter) deep for up to 30 minutes, or getting exposed to a dust storm. However, while SoundLink Max is protected against accidental exposures to water and dust, is not designed for playback when wet. All of SoundLink Max’s components, including the USB-C charging and AUX ports, transducers, and passive radiators, are built with rugged, waterproof materials. These components are sealed tightly in the speaker’s housing, keeping out water and dust.”
They did mention to leave it off and allow it to dry if it gets wet.
Now, you might not need to take your Max out in a dust storm, but you could! Or at least know you can get it a little dirty and still rock the party after a day of dusty off roading.
I picked this model specifically because of the Bose reputation and the COLOR! It’s really a good looking speaker, it happens to be my wife’s favorite color which explains why she took it. That, and it matches her new roller skates. Lol
So now it plays her favorite skate jams on a loop.
I need to mention the handle. It’s removable, just a quarter turn anti-clockwise on each stanchion and it pulls off. You could leave it off if you don’t use it but that leaves two openings in the top of the speaker or you could buy a longer shoulder strap that they offer for it. Maybe Bose should offer flush plugs for the people that don’t use a handle?
I only have one complaint. It’s the volume control. On my iPhone, when I tap the volume one click louder or softer, it’s either a little too loud or a little too quiet. If I use the +/- buttons on the device I get a slightly finer adjustment, but if I use the Bose app, I get a much finer adjustment and can get it exactly where I want it.
Speaking of the app, it’s pretty basic but it works for me without an issue. I tweaked the EQ to my liking and I use it to fine tune the volume like I mentioned above.
The device has passive radiators on each end and to be honest, the sound quality if you’re not standing directly in front of it is still pretty good. You lose a little of the highs if it’s facing away from you as you would expect . If you have to set it in the middle of a room for a party there’s an easy fix. Just place it facing up on the table and you’re good to go.
Definitely recommend this as a buy, just don’t pick a color that your wife loves more than you! LOL!

detailedReviews 27: content: The Bose SoundLink Max was an amazing idea by Bose that sounds genuinely good while it gets louder in volume. At some points the bass may get a bit murky depending on the song itself, you can always use the equalizer and tweak it a bit in order to get the perfect sound to your liking. The speaker itself is small enough and light enough that you can carry it with you everywhere without it being a hassle.
The accessibility is great with the speaker, being able to change the straps is easy to help suit your needs (with simply changing the handles or making it into a sling). The connection between your device and the speaker itself is quick, which is a huge improvement because personally I struggle sometimes with connection speed with some bluetooth devices. The speed that it charges at is also relatively quick, so you can get back on the go with some juice in little to no time. The addition to the water resistance is also nice, just don't try to drown it!
I do have to say however, it gets dirty severely quickly which can be bothersome to some people. Due to it being silicone it attracts smears, and scratches easily. Hopefully within the future Bose can also implement more options within the short cut button and add a cover for the ports in the back to help with the water resistance.
Overall, I do recommend this product, it may seem small but it rivals bigger stereos and keeps its quality at higher volumes after messing with the equalizer.

title: The Bose SoundLink Max was an amazing idea...
detailedReviews 28: content: The Bose SoundLink Max rechargeable portable speaker, simply to say, lives up to Bose quality and sound.
Packaging - great packaging and visual setup instructions
Design - strong quality build that is small enough to carry around but feels sturdy and tough enough to last through daily use and listening on the go. The speaker is metal with a rubber skin to protect it from bumps and drops. The layout of buttons is simple and straight forward. The carrying handle is soft but strong and seems like it will hold up for the long term. It looks cool with the corded handle with rubberized grip. The size is also large enough to pack great sound with speakers on the front and sides. It is also waterproof to a point so you can take it outside and not worry about it getting wet when it rains or by the pool.
Connectivity - Bluetooth is quick to connect but also provides a mini phone jack for direct connection if needed. A USB charger is included but also you can charge your phone with the same port when you are away and your phone gets low battery.
Controls - Buttons are provided for power, volume, pause/play, input source and shortcut.
Sound - Great sound that is full and room filling and seems to provide sound that a much larger speaker would provide. Great bass which sounds like a subwoofer is built-in. It gets really loud when you need it for outside listening with good treble and midrange. The midrange provides really good voice quality to better understand the words. It also sounds great at lower volumes. The quality sound is Bose good.
Bose App - you can control the EQ settings for bass, midranges and treble through the app. You can also control the speaker volume, pause/play and switch input sources. You can create shortcuts to play from Spotify or to switch to audio line in.

Several Bose…and JBL’s tube looking speakers and now this one the size of a loaf of bread…Now I prefer the JBL over Bose, which greatly surprise me. So when I bought the larger carry speaker by JBL, I thought the sound would naturally be better…crisper. So you can imagine how sad and disappointed I was that the more expensive larger speaker had less to offer than my little tubular JBL speaker…. I do recommend that smaller speaker but not the muddle muffled bread loaf size speaker… Better to go with a smaller JBL tubular speaker. I have a FLIP5 that out shines this larger more expensive JBL speaker with a handle. So I do not recommend this particular JBL speaker. What a letdown.

detailedReviews 30: content: I've owned several Bose products and loved all of what I've had so far. This speaker is no exception! Bose has made great strides to improve sound quality recently and especially the bass. I've used products from years ago that were not focused on those aspects and I'm amazed with how far it's come. One thing I thought was very interesting was I found out music production plays a huge role in sound quality, some songs sounded amazing and well balanced and others weren't as clear. That just goes to show that the speaker is fully capable of playing music well, so long as it was produced well. :) With the songs that are produced well, it really is amazing to listen to then on this speaker. You can hear things you didn't hear before and levels of detail that are amazing. I found several songs I never knew on some test playlists that sounded really good on this speaker. It was fun to listen to the songs I love on it and hear the differences. The amount of power this thing can push out is insane, it can get really loud. I did find the best sound hangs out in the mid to upper mid range of volume, the lower levels are pretty quiet and the loudest range is a little washed out. That being said, most of the time I don't use the highest volume, so the sweet spot sits just right for me. I also appreciate the battery life because I often forget to charge it yet it still runs. My QuietComfort headphones are the same story, way to go on battery life!
The packaging the product came in was very well designed and also included a USB-C charging cable and power supply (US based). A lot of companies cheap out on that stuff so it was nice to have that included.
Overall a really impressive product. I currently own a few small Bluetooth speakers and this one really blows them out of the water. It sits on a completely different level that them. I got the blue and I love the color, but that's just personal preference!

detailedReviews 31: content: Bose - SoundLink Max Portable Bluetooth Speaker
I have been listening to this speaker for several days and I am really impressed with both its size and sound. The size is perfect for carrying it around the house or to take with you. I absolutely love the handle on top that just begs you to pick this speaker up and carry it with you. The handle is well padded and just cradles so well in your hand. The sound is very impressive with great clear highs, strong midrange vocals, and then the solid deep base that just completes a well-balanced sound stage. I noticed a “spatial” sound effect when I listen to some music. The speaker produces a wider than expected separation of left and right channels even though the main speakers are only about 8 inches apart. When I look behind the speaker grill with a flashlight, I noticed the two main speakers are slightly angled Left and Right. Is this separation enhanced by the angles, or is there some signal processing going on to create a wider sound stage? In any event, it works and it works well. The bass is strong and punchy but not boomy or overdone. Even at low volume levels, the sound is still full and rich with good base response. At high volume levels the highs are very strong with no apparent distortion being heard. The app further allows you to tweak the sound to your own music and taste. While the preset sound modes are ok, I still prefer to do my own tweaking of bass, midranges, and treble which can easily be done with the app.
The controls on the top of the speaker are easy to access and function with little effort. The speaker has been syncing to my phone flawlessly each time I turn on the speaker. When turning on the speaker, the voice assistant will give you a battery status report. The Bose App further reinforces the speaker settings and battery level with a percentage icon for battery charge. The App additionally allows volume and EQ settings as well as a “Shortcut” button and several product tips about your speaker. You can also “turn off” the voice prompt of battery status on powering up if you don’t want to hear that.
Charging is done with an included 5 volt 3 Amp Charger and USB-C cable. Both are of high quality. On reading the small print on the bottom of the speaker you can use other USB-C chargers from 5 volt to 20 volt. This allows you to use any PD (Power Delivery) Style USB-C charger from other devices. In addition, the speaker can charge your phone when plugged into the same USB-C charge port which supplies 5 volts 3 amp output.
SUMMARY:
This is a very well-constructed speaker with awesome sound in a handy portable size. The rubberized exterior is smooth and has a good feel to it. It appears to be built tough and made to go out and even get wet based on its water rating of IP67. Coupled with great battery life (up to 20 hours), the battery also allows you to charge your phone if necessary while listening to your music. The free APP allows more choices of your sound with the EQ controls and works very well in the background. I definitely like this speaker a lot. It has become my Go-To speaker to grab and go with me. I would absolutely recommend this speaker to anyone looking for quality and great sound.

title: Bose - SoundLink Max Portable Bluetooth Speaker I...
detailedReviews 32: content: I can’t deny I was expecting a regular speaker.. you know the usual - connect it to your phone, press play, adjust volume, & boom, there yah go. However, the Bose SoundLink Max is NOT quite your regular speaker. Think of a regular speaker that got exposed to gamma rays (like the Hulk), THAT is the Bose SoundLink Max.
My pros for the Bose SoundLink Max are:
1. Bass & overall sound quality
2. Sound Waveform & Range
3. Adjustable sound settings (EQ)
4. Portability
5. Output charger functioning
6. Dual input (USB-C & Aux)
7. Ease of connection & compatibility
8. Soft-touch feel and Overall Appearance
1. First of all it has some of the best bass I have ever heard in a portable speaker (& looks like a mini boombox, which totally adds to the vibes). The speakers are located on the front and both sides so you get a full 360 sound experience. Which allows for the deep notes of the bass to come through so crisp and clear that when adjusted to do so, you can feel the beats. That’s when the EQ is set to be in what I’ve deemed as “party mode” & for a bass head that is a total pro! I can’t get enough.
2. I had to google the word for it but Sound Waveform is the word used to describe the shape of the sound emitted from speakers; and the waveform on the SoundLink Max is INSANE! It emits in such a way that when you are behind the speaker you wouldn’t be disturbed by its boisterousness. I am seriously amazed.
3. Alongside the waveform, this speaker has adjustable EQ settings which allow for it to be compatible with not only party atmospheres but also more chill and quiet environments. With the SoundLink Max you’re able to adjust the Bass, Mid and Treble and that means you can basically make this speaker a literal portable stereo system that will provide all the beats needed to get a party going. Also for myself, in the mornings my family sleeps later than I do and I love to play my speaker early. Since I cant throw morning parties, Ive found that when I adjust the settings just right I am able to play my music at a good volume for the room while also not disturbing those upstairs still catching z’s. (This is my personal favorite feature, too)
4. The portability is another part of this speaker I can get behind. While it isn’t as light as a feather, it’s not gonna hurt your hand to carry it through the party or out on a walk. (Tho Bose has a longer carrying strap that I plan to purchase ASAP) It is really easy to grab and go which makes it the perfect going out buddy.
5. The output charging function is very handy for the days when you want to carry the speaker out but dont want to bring too much. Ditch the charger box and just use this guy. It will drain the battery a bit if you utilize this function but with how long the battery life is, I dont think that dying batteries will be what ends the party. Hahaha
6. The fact that there is not only a USB-C connector but also an “old school” aux port makes my millennial soul happy. Definitely a plus for being able to connect just about any device you want.
7. The SoundLink Max will connect to your devices through the Bose app, of course, but it also connects with regular Bluetooth connection (sans app) as well as with the aux port. So getting whatever sound it is that you want playing is pretty simple to do and you’ll be up and dancing asap. *Also to add, when multiple devices are connected it is very easy to cycle through them with the Bluetooth button so that whoever’s turn it is to DJ will be able to start their set quickly and with ease.*
8. Now that I’ve spoken on the functionality, let’s hit onto the aesthetics of the speaker.. and let’s be honest it’s not only pretty sleek, it’s so cute! The two colors available are Black and Blue Dust, with mine being the latter which I LOVE! It has a nice soft-touch coating to the body with a shallow indentation for the buttons so they’re easy to access. Overall, it’s a a smooth design that I appreciate.
Bonus pro: I cant believe I forgot to mention the shortcut button! Tho I do wish it could switch between more options, it is very helpful when you want to switch between Bluetooth and the aux port. Same for those who love Spotify, you can also set it to go straight into your last played Spotify playlist and start right back up where you last were. All with the click of one button on the top of the speaker.
Overall, my opinion on the SoundLink Max is that it is 10/10, 5 stars, 100%. I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of my listening experience with it so far & im willing to bet you will too.

detailedReviews 34: content: This speaker is called the SoundLink "Max" for a reason. Listening to this speaker for the first time blew my mind. The sound quality is exceptional. I never imagined a speaker of this size could produce such punchy bass without overpowering the mids and highs, creating room-filling sound with depth and detail.
I love this speaker so much that I take it along with me everywhere I go; be it a different room in the house or outside, and yet the sound quality remains top-notch. The strap makes it easy to carry around. Initially, holding it felt a bit heavy, but the handle is really comfortable to hold, to a point where you will forget its weight and take it along with you wherever you go.
The battery life of this speaker is impressive and exceeded my expectations, considering its maximum volume and sound quality. Additionally, the fact that this speaker can charge my phone is really useful when going outdoors.
The only downsides of this product are that the USB and Aux ports are exposed, but this can be easily fixed; and the silicone material can gather dust, but it doesn't take long to clean it off.
Overall, I think Bose has made an outstanding speaker that is stylish, unique, and, most importantly, delivers impressive stereo sound. I'm no longer limited to listening to quality music in one room, and this speaker provides me the freedom to enjoy and listen to music wherever I want.

title: This speaker is called the SoundLink "Max" for...
detailedReviews 35: content: The SoundLink Max bolsters Bose’s reputation that “If it’s a Bose, it sounds awesome.”
A three-band equalizer is included in the smartphone app. It has a few presets, but also allows manual setting of bass, midrange, and treble.
Once pairing has been established, it connects automatically on power-up.
A second device can be paired, and you can switch between the two.
The thick, comfortable carrying handle just barely kept the speaker from fitting in the space I had intended. The handle is easily detachable, so that wasn’t a problem.
The sound quality is unbelievable for a device this size.
The downsides are few but not severe:
FIRST: The only instructions actually included with the unit is inside the box. As you can see in photo 1, you are instructed to 1) charge the unit (without telling you exactly how you know when it is fully charged), 2) press the power button, and 3) connect to the unit with your smartphone and download an app for it, using the QR code. In my experience, Bluetooth devices need to be connected fairly quickly, before the pairing times out. This is exactly what happened to me, as I had to sign into the newly downloaded application, go back to my settings to select the unit, etc. Download and set up the app FIRST.
SECOND: There is no owner’s manual. There was a 24-page booklet with regulatory information in seventeen languages. At the top of the first page, there is a QR code linked to Bose’s support website. [see photo 2] The website has everything, but you have to follow at least a couple links for every piece of information. Fortunately, it is not terribly difficult to find the link to the 40-page Owner’s Guide, but a link to that would have been very useful without having to chase it down.
THIRD: When powering-up, the speaker “thumps” and announces its battery level. It is annoyingly loud. The announcement can be disabled in the Bose smartphone app, instead playing just the “thump” on power-up. It is still loud, but not as obtrusive.
Overall, the SoundLink Max is an incredible speaker. Typical for Bose, the sound quality is unmatched in any other device in its class.

detailedReviews 36: content: There's a reason this is one of my favorite brands. Everything they make is premium. This Bluetooth speaker is no different and offers a great experience right out of the box.
Opening the box you can instantly feel the quality of the speaker and see the thought and care put into the product. All it takes to setup is to download the Bose app and to push the power button. From the app, you can control all of the sound settings so you can boost the bass or treble depending on how you like it.
Over the years, I have had at least a dozen other speakers like this and I think this is my favorite since the two Bose speakers I had about a decade ago. Back then, the speakers had the best bass and sound, and that is still true today. This speaker really stands out if you like a lot of bass. The sound quality is crisp, clear and full. The quality is premium compared to other speakers.
I'm not a scientist, but I've observed that waterproof speakers typically have slightly lower quality sound because there is no open air flow from the speaker since it is completely sealed. It seems that Bose has figured out how to improve on that. The bass comes out loud and the treble is crystal clear. It's also easy to carry the speaker with the built in strap. I take the speaker out to the back yard often and even with my hands full I can grab the strap and bring it out. I'm always moving the speaker around and it's nice that I don't have to worry about it getting rained on or being damaged by spills. The speaker is very durable and repels both water and sand (if you take to the beach).
Getting back to the premium sound, I was relaxing in my backyard over the weekend and had the speaker sitting on the outdoor coffee table. The volume was around 30-40% and when I put my feet up on the table the whole table was vibrating from the bass. That's not something my other speakers can do. And although I don't think I'll ever listen to it at max volume, the sound quality doesn't seem to deteriorate at high levels. After several hours of listening the battery was still almost fully charged. I'm pretty sure it will outlast my cell phone battery, which by the way, can be charged by plugging into the speaker.
And finally, a note on using this in a group. You can have multiple phones connected at once, so it is a great way to share music with friends and family. Overall, I'm very pleased with this speaker and am looking forward to using it this summer.

detailedReviews 37: content: ound for my ear. Volume levels are fantastic! I’ve never needed to maintain volume above 70%. I’ve used my SoundLink Max for indoor/outdoor work around the house, casual listening to music/podcasts and for all of my garage gym workouts! Refreshing is the word I would use to describe the battery life. I simply don’t have to worry about it running out of battery like I do with other devices. Having the option to utilize the speaker to charge other devices also provides some peace of mind if you get in a pinch without an outlet nearby. Bluetooth pairing is quick and simple but one of my favorite features so far has to be the ability to easily swap between connected devices when listening with others. The speaker and carry handle feel durable and the materials equally premium. I would love to see some additional handle length options down the road and potentially another color or limited editions offered for the speaker in the future. My only critique is the volume of the prompts when powering on the device. Personally, I would like it to be a little quieter or be given the option to adjust it. Myself, my wife and young daughter couldn’t be happier with the SoundLink Max and I’m excited to use it for a very long time! If you’re in the market for a high quality portable bluetooth speaker for yourself or a loved one, you will not be disappointed with the SoundLink Max.

detailedReviews 38: content: I've been using this speaker for a few weeks now and it's definitely displaced my existing speaker as my go-to for every day listening. Straight out of the box I loved the design. What makes the design unique--and portable--is the removable handle, which gives it a retro, boom box-esque vibe. Note that if you do choose to remove the handle, there aren't any plugs to fill in the handle openings.
I was immediately impressed by the speaker's rich sound quality and deep bass. I typically use the Bose Soundlink Revolve II, which I've had for several years now. I live in an apartment and always have music playing. For comparison purposes, the Soundlink Max is definitely more impressive in terms of audio quality, which I would have expected given the price points of the two speakers. The Soundlink Revolve is smaller, lighter, and more portable. The Soundlink Max performs well at louder volumes and is great for outdoor settings; the sound really fills up the space. You can adjust the EQ via the Bose app. Note that the Soundlink Max weighs in at about 5 lbs., which is somewhat hefty.
The speaker has a 20-hour battery life as advertised. Bluetooth connectivity was quick and painless. It's also convenient to have the ability to charge my phone with the speaker, although I probably won't use that feature too often.
Overall, it's a powerful portable speaker with excellent sound quality and a great design. Highly recommend.

detailedReviews 40: content: What is not to love about the new Bose Soundlink Max Portable Speaker. I have been using it for about a month now and it has exceeded my expectations. As a long time Bose user, the soundlink max portable speaker has the best sound for a product of its size. The sound is very balanced with an absolutely incredible bass. I love the way you can also customize the sound using the app. I have used the speaker outdoors and indoors and no matter where you are it sounds amazing. I appreciate the portable design and the attached handle. It has a bit of weight to it but not too heavy to travel around with you. It was a big hit at a Memorial Day party with anyone being about to connect and play the music that they would like. The battery life for the speaker is very long. I barely have to charge it with the battery probably lasting over 20 hours each time it is fully charged. My favorite feature is that you can use a USB-C to charge your phone! I am sometimes guilty of forgetting to charge my phone 100% and I have found this feature so handy when playing music. Bose never disappoints with the quality and reliability of the products they offer as well as the customer service that is always provided. 10/10 would recommend to anyone to buy. It is worth every penny and I know it will last for years to come!

detailedReviews 41: content: I got this product a couple of weeks ago and it is an excellent product if you like good sound quality in a good-sized portable speaker.
I listen to music pretty much every day for 5-10 hours a day and I used this speaker for listening to music while I was working and when I was doing garden work or just chilling in the sun
All the times I used it whether inside or outside this speaker has great sound quality as well as the great sound quality you can change the EQ on the app allowing you to change the sounds for each genre of music which makes the sound quality even better but most of the time it doesn't matter the quality holds up through different genre's.
This speaker has a high-quality feel to it which is good and it feels very durable the handle is very sturdy and can be replaced and changed which means it's open for options for different types of handles for different lifestyles
Pros
Sound Quality is great
Built with durable material
Durable Handle with the option to switch
Ease to press buttons
Ease to set up
Good size and very portable
Very good battery life
Cons
The app doesn't tell you how to skip and go back songs with the speaker - For anyone curious until they add it to the app it's double press the play button to skip and triple press the play button to go back to the previous song

detailedReviews 42: content: I generally love my Bose products. This is my 4th Bose bluetooth speaker not including the handphones and home theatre speakers. There is one thing that is super annoying with this speaker and it drives me crazy. When trying to listen to music is the volume increments are not uniform - or the scale is in reverse - with large jumps at the lower volume with unnoticeable differences at the higher volumes. Example, if volume has 10 levels, adjusting from level 2 to level 3 going from 10% to 35% max volume but going from level 8 to level 9 feels like 90% to 92% and is indistinguishable.
For this, I cannot recommend the speaker. The speaker sounds great but the poor firmware makes it feel more like a knock off noname speaker with a nice case and not the finese expected with Bose brand.

detailedReviews 43: content: I bought this to replace my Bose Mini SoundLink 1. That speaker served me for 11 years! College parties, beach trips, kayaking, camping, work, grilling, sad boy hours. You name it, that speaker played its little heart out. It became an icon in the friend group. While many have had 4-6 speakers over the years, I've had just the one. I unfortunately dunked it in water while on the river. The battery was beginning to fail anyway, but that deemed to be too much for my Mini. It still played for a few hours after that, but its final song was Great Expectations by Day Wave on 07/04/2024. It played all the way through and turned off for its last time. I put that speaker though things it was never built to do, and it just kept going. I bought the Max because it IS built to withstand my lifestyle, and Bose as a portable speaker has won me over. I will forever buy Bose, and this speaker.. I mean wow! What a sound! The battery life is incredible, the tone and bass is amazing! truly one of the best sounding Bluetooth speakers I've heard for its size. To be fair it's a little too soon to tell, but if this is anything like my Mini SoundLink 1, (and this can withstand the river) I will be playing music out of it for many years to come, and I believe this too will become the next icon amongst friends and family. I have already enjoyed many hours from the new Bose Max.

Ruined! IPX proofing is important on an outdoor speaker! Soundlink Max is IPX6… No critter, no water or dust gonna stop Soundlink from brining the tunes. IPX6 rated protection is extremely waterproof but not submersible. It can take rain, splashes or a spilled beverage! It’s ready for the beach, pool or adventure! NOTE: if you get it wet…let it dry COMPLETELY before trying to charge it usb! No hair dryers either. I don’t like reading manuals…but Bose kept it simple on the app so I would recommend checking it out to maximize your Soundlink Max.
It also is usb C for charging which I really love. You can also charge your phone from it but note that it will decrease the 20 hours or play. Bose also makes a mention that if you are using max sound setting the 20 hours is greatly reduced as one would expect. To help with battery, if you leave it on accidently, after 20 minutes it will auto shut off which is nice.
I also really love the premium material of skin, It feels soft but slip resistant if you have wet hands. The buttons are responsive. You can turn the volume up and down and play and pause on the speaker itself….BUT NO NEXT/BACK SONG BUTTON! That’s definitely a design misstep or bad design choice but totally forgivable. I use my phone most of the time anyway. The speaker sets solid on anything you set it on…beach towel or beach bag. While looking at the manual in the Bose App, I discovered you can change the handle with ease to different color rope design! I like that little touch. I also like the ergonomic handle… feels good and solid in the hand or to use it to tie on the boat somewhere or a canoe on a float trip!
I like the app Bose has. I had the app with my BOSE Headphones and the Soundlink Max synced right up no problem. You can play with the EQ if you want…I found the factory set is the best for me.
Back to the sound…Just world class. I love music and I have too many headphones and speakers to be honest but I like having the right device for the right job….For summer fun or out door adventure…BOSE SOUNDLINK MAX is by far the way to go. It completely fills my back deck, garage or any room in my house up with full rich, clear and crisp sound with bass that seems impossible from such a small device with no visible subwoofer or tweeters!!! So easy to transport anywhere you want to go! Loud for a party or soft for ambience….just amazing. Not to mention the rich warm conversations from podcasts.
I absolutely love the Soundlink Max!

detailedReviews 46: content: TLDR: For anyone looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker in the price range, you will most be happy with your purchase.
As an owner of Bose Soundlink Color II, I was pretty excited to try out Bose’s latest offering. Right of the bat, the speaker gives a much fuller sound. With the larger size, you get a lot more bass than the Color II.
Setup of the speaker was simple. Bose recommended performing a factory reset before pairing for the first time (holding + and – button for a few seconds). After resetting, I was able to connect the speaker to my iPhone. Next, I highly recommend downloading the latest Bose app and adding the speaker. The app has a few built-in guides that explain most of the speaker’s functionality and customizations you can perform. As a Spotify user, I like the fact that I can change the Shortcut button to directly launch Spotify.
One thing I will say is that initially, I thought the sound from the speaker was a little harsh. Thankfully within the app you can customize the EQ. After a good amount of experimentation, I was able to find a configuration that sounded good to me. For reference, my settings are:
Bass: +1
Mid: -3
Treble: +3
While I haven’t done any testing in this area, the speaker is IP67 rated, so you should be able to take it just about anywhere and not have to worry about the speaker getting wet or full of dust. The speaker also has some sensors to determine if it is wet, so you don’t plug it in while there is still some moisture in the USB port.
Having an included USB-C cable and charger is a nice touch. You can also use the speaker as a power bank and charge your phone through the USB port. You can remove the carrying handle, but I am not sure why you would.
Overall, after a bit of tweaking of the settings, I am happy with the speaker and would recommend it to most people. While it won’t replace my home theater setup, it does make for a good experience on the go.

title: TLDR: For anyone looking for a portable Bluetooth...
detailedReviews 47: content: I previously had an older Bose 360 degree speaker and it was great - it was portable, sounded good, and you could hear music in any direction. This definitely takes it up several notches, however.
With the SoundLink Max, you get stereo sound and good bass as well. It isn't extremely large, I would say roughly the size of a shoe. I really like the rubberized finish on it, which means that it is durable and can handle a few bumps and bruises. I also like the fact that it is powered by USB-C and can charge your phone as well! Having an aux input jack is also very nice.
Because it has stereo drivers, it is able to do left/right, whereas other speakers have just a single driver. Bass is further enhanced by the radiators on the sides, as some other competitor models also do. That being said, I was impressed by the sound quality. By default the sound is "energetic", with prominent mids and good bass. However the app provides the ability to adjust the EQ (though only in bass/mid/high, instead of a more precise layout with sliders for the different bands) to tune the sound to your liking.
The carry handle is also fairly sturdy, and the speaker can get pretty loud. All in all, I really like this device in that it has good quality sound without being overly large/heavy.

title: I previously had an older Bose 360 degree...
detailedReviews 48: content: This strikes me as an interesting product. At the end of the day, it's simple - it's a Bluetooth speaker without a ton of frills that jams a huge amount of sound and bass into a relatively small - but a bit hefty - package, in typical Bose fashion. But at the premium price tag, it does feel like it's missing a feature or two.
Pros:
- Incredible sound
- Excellent battery life
- USB-C charging
- Fast-charge your phone from the speaker via the USB-C port
- AUX input
- Basic EQ via the Bose app
- IP67 water resistant
Cons:
- No WiFi (no casting, SpotifyConnect, etc...)
- Fairly large to be "portable"
- Heavy
- No USB-C audio support
- No the white / silver color
This thing is ideal for bringing along to a house or pool party, or jamming out at your own place, but it is fairly large and hefty. I have this listed as a con just because this is very much advertised as "take it with you on-the-go", and I'm not sure I would realistically take this with me unless I'm not bringing much else. It's not going in my backpack if I'm taking anything else with me, and I'm certainly not flying anywhere with it, but if I'm bringing it to a weekend cabin trip it is perfect.
The simplicity of it - the fact that it is solely Bluetooth - could be a pro or con. It does feel as though it should have WiFi so you can cast music to it in full quality, perhaps have Assistant capabilities, and do things like Spotify Jams which leans right into the "bring it to the party" use case.
The Bose app is pretty decent - it has its quirks, but overall it's pretty fast and easy to use. You're really only opening it if you want to clean up paired devices, update the software, or mess with the EQ which you're probably not doing often.
The removable handle is interesting. I'll be curious what kinds of accessories they come up with to utilize that feature. The handle it comes with is extremely sturdy, featuring a rubber casing around a very thick and robust braided cord. The whole thing is built like a tank.
If you're considering this product, you're really between this and the Portable Smart Speaker, which fills the "smart" gaps I'm bringing up here. This objectively sounds better than the Portable Smart, but the 360 sound and WiFi of the Portable Smart kind of make it a toss-up for me, especially since you can use them in all the same ways and they're the same price. This has better sound & battery.
The only real issue I've had with it so far is, despite being advertised to support SimpleSync, it really doesn't work for me. It did for the first time or two, but ever since then the sound crackles and sounds terrible when I try to sync it with my Bose Soundbar 700. I'm sure they'll fix this. I haven't had any issues to speak of otherwise. This may or may not matter to you.
The sound quality is the real stand-out feature of this. It will fill any room, and is excellent outdoors, although you certainly lose the punchy bass you get when indoors. It kicks. It's loud, clear, and never seems to distort. Bose continues to impress here.
Overall, this thing is fantastic, and I'd recommend it if you're looking for a simple Bluetooth speaker with huge sound and don't mind lugging something fairly big and heavy around. If any of those things give you pause, you might want to look at the Smart Portable or other options. At the price, you can certainly get more features in other products including in Bose's own line-up, but you probably won't get this level of sound.

detailedReviews 49: content: This fairly little speaker puts out awesome sound, especially bass. Not at all surprising from Bose. The speaker isn’t tiny like the Bose Soundlink Mini II, and the sound is actually slightly better. Being probably three times the size of the Mini II, it is still very portable. Extremely portable in fact with the very comfortable built-in (but interchangeable) handle. It is heavier than I anticipated, but my guess is that is why it delivers bass that is deep and rich, comparable to many speakers way bigger than this one is. It doesn’t end with the bass. The speaker has incredible midrange and treble also. Turned all the way up there is no sound distortion that I detected.
It has the ordinary Bluetooth control buttons (see picture) with an extra shortcut button (more later on that). It utilizes the Bose Music App which is a huge benefit as I can control it from the same place I do other Bose speakers. With the app, you can change the input source and customize the equalizer (or use four preprogrammed equalizer presets). The shortcut button is disappointing. You can turn it on and off or program it from the app. But there are ONLY TWO options for it. Those are to use the auxiliary (3mm) jack or Spotify. The shortcut button is pretty much worthless for those of us who don’t use Spotify. Not sure why Bose didn’t make other services such as iHeart, Apple Music, etc. available with the shortcut bar.
It charges with a standard USB C to USB C cable and comes with its own power brick. So far battery life has been amazing. I haven’t actually timed the battery life but have played it all day long without draining the battery. The tips in the app suggest it is water resistant, as they show how to remove moister and dry the speaker. I didn’t read anything elsewhere about it being water resistant. I don’t plan on testing this out. However, it will be going to the beach a lot.
I have several Bose speakers and just like the others, this one definitely delivers. Again, the sound is amazing for a smaller portable speaker. I very highly recommend this speaker for anyone looking for a quality, higher end, portable Bluetooth speaker.

detailedReviews 50: content: Having being in a position to apply and be selected to become apart of the Bose seak peak family. Let’s just say I am made up with the product. Below are my pros and cons of the product.
Pros:
- [ ] The packaging is sleek and engaging, living up to the high standards expected from Bose.
- [ ] Performance to weight ratio is unbelievable for a portable speaker.
- [ ] The exterior casing even though it has a rubber feel it’s definitely feels and looks premium, avoiding having a plastic/metal casing prevents cosmetic damage.
- [ ] Size of the product is substantial, but surprisingly light and having a comfortable handle makes it easy to carry about without being strenuous.
- [ ] The performance is impressive, used the speaker inside and outside. Can’t wait for the summer months in England to use during barbecues.
- [ ] Shortcut button is great allows for your favourite music to be played instantly and make Bose standout from your competitors.
- [ ] The bass and treble are impressive having messed round on the Bose music app with EQ’s.
- [ ] Battery was quickly charged after taken out of the impressive boxing, allows for quick easy charge and to be able to use without battery dying.
- [ ] Having the Bose sound link mini first generation, Bose technology has massively developed making music even more enjoyable.
- [ ] Bluetooth connection to my phone and Bose app was quick, easy and simple.
Cons:
- [ ] The silicone/rubber casing material seems to attract a lot of dust.
- [ ] Different colour lighting when charging would a nice feature.
- [ ] Notice when turning the volume up you can really notice a sound difference during the different low mode.

detailedReviews 51: content: Without question, the SL Max provides great sound out-of-the-box dominating speakers twice its size and form factor. With very few shortcomings, it will be my go-to speaker for beach/picnic outings due to its space filling soundscape and portability.
Performance- Rich, full sound with a great balance of treble and bass. No peaking on high volumes and easily able fill a room and/or cover a space in a mid-size gathering. App based EQ can further implement a specific sound profile to match different genres of music. My overall rating is specifically tied to its robust performance.
Size/ Portability- A lot packed into a little. For comparison, it's roughly the size of a Fiji water bottle and easily able to fit into any backpack without hogging too much space. With that, the control panel buttons are sized just right, even for my thick fingers. Another high point.
Build- When you first grab the handle, you may be slightly surprised at how heavy the capsule is. With that weight comes confidence in the build. This is a solid, sturdy road companion. I have no issue toss around, getting wet, or placing in the sand. A downside it there are no covers for the power or aux inputs, but there is a warning system for charging. If there is water detected, the led will flash until dry. In any event Bose recommends fan usage for drying/clearing debris, so I can still feel confident in taking it wherever I boldly go. This goes for the handle as well. Very sturdy, without the need to be delicate.
Battery- The first 10% of the fully charged battery disappeared after about an hour and some change, which I assumed I was going to get roughly 10% per hour. But, I've been at 80% for well past that metric which gives a solid plus for battery life. Of course, the louder the play, the shorter the battery life, but for sporadic usage, the battery has surpassed satisfaction.
Finish- This is where I find one of my main issues. The finish of the Max is a rubber based matte coating. While I know it helps with durability, it is terrible for keeping your speaker looking its best. All knicks, dust, specks, marks, etc. show on the surface and are not easily removed. So, if you're going to put this speaker to hardship, let it be known it will look the part over time. Also, I have known such finishes to not do well over time with oxidation. Only time will tell, but this is/has been my experience.
App experience- Easily connected to several BT sources with/without the app. App adds EQ and quick settings so it will be advantageous if you like to tinker with your sound. The app has been improved since my last foray with the S1 Pro. So far, dependable and useful when I choose to use it.
A few things to wrap up. The first is the Shortcut button. It is promoted as programmable, but the only choices are for the AUX and Spotify. I'm hoping that can be expanded through a software update at a later date, as of writing this, it is simply a disguised "source" button. I would love to set the button to my preferred music app of choice.
Second, there are no in-call options. No mic or speaker output of calls. That can be a hit or miss feature, and they chose to exclude it here. When you take a call, music stops, call is taken through handset. Once call completes, music automatically resumes with no interaction needed. Not an issue, but is one of those features that should be noted.
In closing, The Soundlink Max lives up to the boisterous claims and satisfies just about all of my needs and wants in an on-the-go speaker. A worthy companion.

detailedReviews 52: content: I'm not a Bose fanboy at all but this speaker is fantastic. I think at one point I owned 15 Bluetooth speakers so I have a good idea of what I want out of a speaker over a wide range of sizes. Everything about the Max is perfect. The bass is solid. I can't believe they fit all this sound into such a small package. The build quality is perfection. The Bluetooth is rock solid. It connects instantly every time. Handles multiple devices no problem. The price is steep so maybe wait for a sale in the future. But even if you pay full price I don't think you will have buyers remorse. I would love if the app EQ was 5 band instead of 3 band but I would not change anything about the speaker itself. So tempted to get another one once they add stereo pairing.

The speaker is quite lightweight relative to the extremely impressive audio quality that it delivers. The deep base is stereo sound is really quite impressive and it will keep delivering such impressive audio for nearly 20 hours according to Bose on a single charge. When you're not charging the speaker, you can even use it to charge your phone! The speaker is charged by a USB-C charger (included). It has an IP67 Water and Dust resistance rating and so it's ready to go on your next adventure wherever that may take you. It weighs in at 4.7lbs and measures 4.73" H x 10.42" W x 4.13" D. It's definitely a companion you'll want with you wherever you're going. The handle at the top is detachable should you want to remove it. Setup was exceptionally easy using the Bose app on iOS. The app is also available on the Google Play store for those with an Android based phone or tablet. You can easily connect to the speaker using the app, Bluetooth or the Aux connection. detailedReviews 54: content: The SoundLink Max delivers excellent sound quality (which BOSE is known for!) The speaker measures in at 10.5” x 5” x 4” which makes it very portable. The first thing I noticed was the building quality. It has a little heft, which I love, and the rope handle is a nice touch.
The sound quality is amazing, which is nice is such a small package. Too many times, I have used bluetooth portable speakers, and the sound quality negates portability. The bass was not too much, and the mids sounded great. I am a big classical fan, and this speaker manages to perform well in the genre.
For battery, we are looking at 20 hours at moderate volume. I was able to use the device for around 5 hours, low volume, and the device was still at 100%, which was crazy. I believe if you keep the device at a decent to low volume, you could possibly see better battery life in terms of hours. There is also a USB-C port you can use to charge a phone, which is a neat feature to have. You can never have enough ways to charge handy.
Overall, this is a well-designed, excellent performing Bluetooth speak. This will be a daily driver for me and my family as the portablity and sound, along with excellent battery life make this a must have for us.

detailedReviews 56: content: This Bose SoundLink Max is absolutely fantastic! Taking it out of the box, very sturdy and easy to grab rope-like strap across the top. Easy and comfortable to carry this study speaker that has some heft, but not too too heavy.
Very easy to set up. I first connected it to my iPhone 13 Pro and after making the Bluetooth connection, it prompted me to download the Bose app (which I did right away). The app is not necessary to start playing music, but it has a plethora of settings and adjustments. I played around with the app for a while setting the bass, mid, and treble to my liking at various volumes and multiple songs and song types.
Cranking up the tunes, this speaker is LOUD and sounds super rich to me. Much more booming bass than I was even expecting. Played it outdoors on the patio (probably annoying my neighbors) and indoors for at least 5-6 hours in total. And like I said with that handle, very easy to grab and go.
I also connected it via Bluetooth to my Mac with no issue and it produced about the same sound as from my iPhone (I had to play with my Music app settings a little, similar to the iPhone).
With Bose you can’t go wrong. This will be my go-to portable speaker this coming summer for sure!

detailedReviews 61: content: The Bose SoundLink Max is a dense, yet very portable speaker. The sound is room filling, customizable in the Bose app, and out of the box provides a great experience.
The speaker is not small, but not as big as you might expect. It is approximately 10.5” x 5” x 4”. It has a grippy rope and rubberized carrying handle. The handle gives it a playful look and is extremely practical. The blue color is really nice and subtle.
Easy pairing on Android devices with Google Fast Pair worked great on a Pixel phone. It uses bluetooth 5.3 and supports high quality steaming on Android devices. It also paired easily with an iPhone and an iPad and sounded great. The battery life is stated at 20 hours, and I’ve been getting just over that, guessing it can vary a bit depending on steam quality and/or volume. You can also use the USB type C port to charge a device. There is also an aux port that could be used to connecting devices.
The sound is really incredible. The bass is unreal from a device this size. Mid tones are clear and full, and upper tones are bright but not tinny. It fills a rather large room easily, and is great to have poolside. It also support IP67 with durability from splashes and short submersions.
This is a portable powerhouse of sound in a premium product from a well known and trusted speaker brand. I easily recommend getting this if you are looking for a portable speaker.

* Amazing sound quality
* Fantastic volume (I’ve not even put it up all the way and it gets LOUD!)
* Love being able to connect to the Bose app on my phone and use the equaliser settings — personally I don’t like bassy music so I turn that right down
* Stylish and beautiful build quality. The finish is so smooth and soft to the touch
* Honestly I thought the handle was a bit weird when I first got it but it’s SO useful! I actually think this is my most used speaker now and a lot of that is to do with the handle lol. I carry it round the house like a handbag to all the different rooms 😅
* It’s a big boi but it’s not toooo too heavy. Easy to take to the park for a picnic for eg.
* Connectivity is great, never had any issues with connecting to phones, laptops etc. and it’s cool that you can connect more than one device at a time and manage the connections in the Bose app so you can choose which device it should play from
* Battery life is fab, been using it for a couple weeks now and not needed to charge it yet

detailedReviews 63: content: Bose has come out swinging powerfully with the release of the Soundlink Max wireless speaker. As an owner and fan of the SoundLink Flex speaker, I was surprised and excited to hear that Bose would be releasing a bigger and louder version of it. If you already own a prior version of this line of speakers, you'll kind of know what to expect, but I promise you that you will be impressed!
Sound Quality:
I am blown away by how good this Bose speaker sounds. It definitely sounds a lot bigger than it physically is. I like to sit it on my window sill when I am listening to music and it fills our living room with music easily. It has such a nice full and immersive sound. I feel like I am standing in a concert hall when I use this speaker in my living room to listen to music. It is loud, even at a low 30-40% volume setting. The bass is very punchy, without drowning out the mids and highs. Mids have a nice subtle tone that carry the treble and voices very nicely to your ears. This speaker sounds so good, that I cannot wait to hear what the next song on my playlist is going to sound like through it. If you're an audiophile, You'll understand what I am saying. I honestly love this speaker, and I plan on using it every chance I get. Bose has proven their sound engineering knowledge and If there is an award for "Portable speaker of the year" I think this one deserves it.
Build quality:
This speaker is very very rugged. I think it will definitely survive a drop from shoulder height. I'm not going to test my theory, but it is tough. It is heavy, and it's built like a tank.
The carry strap is a very nice touch, you can remove it easily if you don't want it. But I think it is classy and since the speaker is chunky ( I can barely wrap my hand around the whole thing), it makes carrying it around a lot easier.
my one and only complaint about this speaker, is that the silicone "skin" that covers the speaker is a huge lint and dust magnet. If you have OCD about keeping things dust free as I do. You will find yourself wiping this thing clean very often. lol. I understand the need for it though. It gives the speaker a nice rugged protective skin. I do love that Bose included a 3.5mm aux port on here. I plan on using it to connect it to my home projector when watching movies. The USB C port is for input/output.
So it will charge the speaker with a fast charging cable, and it will output power to charge your phone or tablet! I don't know how I feel about draining the battery from this amazing speaker to charge my phone, but it is definitely a very nice feature to have if I need to charge my phone in an emergency.
Would I recommend this speaker? Yes, I highly recommend this speaker. You will not be disappointed.

detailedReviews 64: content: Let me just say wow, I’m blown away by the sound of this speaker. No matter what genre of music I played it sounded great. There’s two small speakers on the sides & one large across the front. It’s small enough to fit on a countertop & it rumbled the countertop & cabinets. Setup was very easy, it synced with my iPhone immediately. I still have an iPod but I wasn’t able to sync it with that. Volume controls, Bluetooth & play/pause buttons are on the top of the speaker but can also be controlled using the app. I already have the Bose app so finding the Soundlink Max was easy. There’s an equalizer in the app for bass, treble, bass boost, etc. but it sounded great right out of the box. I added a little extra bass & treble & it sounds amazing. The range is good too, I walked through my house while using Bluetooth & there was no cutting out or lost connection, you can also use it while it’s charging. So far battery life is good & I used it for a few hours today. This is very sturdy & well made, even has a rope holding the handle on. I got the Blue dusk & it’s a beautiful color. My only complaint would be that it’s very heavy! I weighed it & it’s almost 5 lbs., not sure I’d want to carry it for a long time! Other than the weight it’s an awesome speaker for parties, picnics. Highly recommend!

detailedReviews 65: content: This is the newest Speaker in the Bose Portable speaker segment and is a great speaker with a few issues.
Inside the box:
You get the speaker itself
Manuals
USB type C to type C cable and AC adapter
As for the speaker itself it's easy to setup you on Android and iPhones. This speaker as far as I know is the first product that supports multi link so you can have two phones connected to it at the same time and switch between them both. The only problem with this is that it has no microphone so you can't use it as a speakerphone. Also this supports snapdragon sound so it supports Apt X adaptive but not the older apt x. So you can get only AAC, or SBC on the major Android phones out like Samsung or Google. Of course you can only get AAC on iOS devices so this isn't an issue if you own an iPhone or iPad. Onto the battery life they say it has a 20 hour battery life and about 3 hours if you blast it. I like that Bose gave us that number as well . As far as sound goes it gets loud and the bass is decent . I wouldn't say it gets a ton of bass tho .it's also IP67 rated so you don't need to worry about bringing this outside though.
.my issue with this speaker is the MSRP of $399. I have heard speakers that just sound as good if not better for under $200. At MSRP it's hard to recommend this speaker unless you don't mind the premium for the Bose name.

detailedReviews 66: content: Exceptional sound quality as expected from Bose. Doesn’t matter if it’s classical orchestral music or funky dance music. Really fills the room with big sound, more than expected with the compact size of the speaker. I was also pleasantly surprised that sound equalization was available and an easy few touches on the app. App is very intuitive overall as well. Very happy with this purchase. Younger generation loves the big bulky Turtle Box, but this Bose delivers much better quality sound at both low and high volumes. Travels well but also blends right in with decor at home.

Unplug it and I'm on the go working outside or just washing the dishes. Best Bluetooth speaker I've owned. A couple suggestions that I think would make it perfect. The ability to power it off and on in the app would be nice. Also more vibrant colors. I'd buy another one now if you made it in real red. Also some more options for color in the handle as well. Obviously I'm partial to some red. Anyway keep up the good work Bose. I have home audio speakers I bought almost 20 years ago, you guys rock!

Speaker is built good, has aux input. If you have an equalizer, its perfect. Pretty loud, never turned all the way up. The highs and lows are incredible with a EQ. I collect speakers, its hard to believe the sound and how small it is. The only system I own that competes with this is my ultimate ears hyperboom. I have everything from altec, Sony, Yamaha, ,tdk. This speaker really is incredible. Perfect sound mix, it has great bass, but its not the thumping, that drowns everything out. Bose has never let me down

detailedReviews 70: content: Bought over a month ago, very happy with the sound quality, great bass but not too much, and good mids and highs. Much better than other competitors who focus too much on muddy bass. What’s impressive is that the speaker itself at full volume, doesn’t seem super loud when you’re stood next to it. Don’t get me wrong it’s still loud, but what’s most impressive is that it seems to throw the sound so far. It fills a room with sound without sounding loud, and outside it throws the sound to the other side of my garden with ease. Only slight issue is that when stored the batttery does seem to slowly deplete itself but not anything to be concerned about really.

detailedReviews 71: content: When I first ordered the speaker, I didn't realize how tiny it was. So when I pulled it out of the box and realized , I wasn't expecting too much from the speaker but because Bose make great products, I thought it would sound good. I did not think it would sound like this! I have larger speakers that I've had for quite some time and they don't sound as blended as these! The speaker is so small and convenient and can go anywhere you go! If I decide to go to a picnic I no longer have to transport that huge speaker and place it outside in the area we are sitting. When is time to go, it's so much easier to grab the little handle and be on my way! My only negative is that for the app, hopefully they updated to add better EQ features than the ones that they have already. Bluetooth connectivity was extremely easy and fast that even though person who has the most problems with electronics Will easily be able to Connect this! I wish I could've gotten a black one, but the blue is a really nice color. If there are any Bose people who love their products, you would definitely love this speaker, and it is worth every penny!

The speaker is very durable, dirt and waterproof with heavy duty looks and feels. I love the handle that is well designed, soft and super comfortable when carrying around. The size of the speaker is perfect for me! I’m very impressed with the sound quality that the speaker is delivering. The sounds is super clear, sharp without any background noises. When the speaker is fully charged, it can play up to 20 hrs of nonstop music anytime and anywhere without interruption. The buttons on the speaker are functioning well. It’s easy to download the app and connect the speaker using my phone. I can control the stereo sound using the app setting for my own reference. This Bose Soundlink Max portable speaker is great for picnic, birthday, pool day or beach day. The sounds is incredibly amazing for it size!!! I charged the speaker when right out of the box...once charged(the speaker is in sleep mode until chrg'd..so...must be charged) then turn it on and the BOSE APP you download guides you thru each step. detailedReviews 74: content: I've been in the market for for a new Bluetooth speaker and I finally found the one. I was looking for something a little bigger, louder (with more bass of course), and a longer battery life for those long beach days and camping trips. I was blown away as this speaker checks off every one of those boxes. It is the perfect size for being big enough to fill any room and the outdoor party I had last weekend, while not being too big where it is no longer portable. The best feature of the SoundLink Max is the the adjustable EQ settings using the Bose app. It's so easy to adjust based on your surroundings or favorite music genre. I tend to like listening to music with a lot of bass and I was blown away with the sound quality with the volume cracked up and bass all the way up. It also was quite convenient when my phone died the other day and I was able to plug it into the speaker to charge vs having to leave my phone inside to charge. The icing on the cake is the fact that it's also waterproof. I highly recommend yet again another great Bose product and look forward to bring it many places!

detailedReviews 75: content: Got it about a month ago. Have casually used it once in a while around the house and once for a few hours at a get together. The sound quality is great. Puts out some bass which is a nice surprise for such a small speaker. My only complaint so far is that the other day when I turned it in the speaker said it was at 60%. I used it for a few hours and it still said it was at 60%. I charged it for hours, still 60%. I looked online how to do a reset on the speaker by holding the - and + volume buttons for 15sec. Reset unit. Still 60%. So I’m not sure what the deal is. It works, but it would be nice to know if in fact the batteries are only holding 60% charge of if there something else faulty going on with it. Disappointing.

detailedReviews 76: content: Nice little speaker. Great sound, very portable, very easy to set up and use. You can switch between multiple bluetooth devices and an auxiliary input. I haven't tried the auxiliary input yet but have no reason to believe it won't work.
The handle is a nice touch. It's comfortable and can be removed and replaced with an optional shoulder strap. Haven't bought the shoulder strap, and probably won't since I don't need to use it is such a manner, but for someone who needs that, it's a great feature.
It advertises that it's waterproof. While I have no intention of deliberately testing that feature, it's comforting to know that I can use it in wet areas without worrying about it. Or if I forget it outside overnight, I don't have to worry about it getting wet.
I will be using this in my garage mostly. The ruggedness should be a benefit in that setting. But it will get dusty. The only complaint I have is the rubbery texture. While it feels nice when it's clean, it shows every bit of dirt and it difficult to clean off.

detailedReviews 77: content: Decided to upgrade from the flex. The sound stage is much wider. It is stereo but the drivers are close so it’s not like having 2 speakers. But makes movies sound great. Used it at a pool party with about 30 people and it filled the space and lasted about 4 to 5 hours at almost full blast. Minimal distortion and the bass was impressive for an outdoor space. As with all these little speakers, the sound deeper if placed up against a wall or corner where the sound can quell. It also sounds deep and really great at low volumes in smaller rooms.

detailedReviews 78: content: Solid Speaker, With a Few Quirks
This speaker is exactly what it claims to be. The sound quality is impressive for the size, it easily fills the room and feels more powerful than you’d expect. I got the black version, which looks sleek, though it does tend to attract dust more than I’d like.
One downside: it can’t be turned on automatically when connecting via Bluetooth from a paired device - you have to manually power it on first. Not a dealbreaker, but a little inconvenient.
Overall, a solid purchase that delivers good value.

detailedReviews 79: content: Pros
- I love that the USB C port on the back has bidirectional charging.
- Battery life is plenty good. I've been using it at least 2-3 hours daily for music, podcasts, movies, and even paired to my computer for work meetings!
- Dual device pairing is nice. I can have my computer and phone paired, switching between the two easily.
- Water resistance worked well in the shower and the bathroom in general.
- Passive radiators are nice. Bass is punchy.
- Vocals are clear, especially Mike Rowe’s voice on his podcast sounds really clean.
- I could tell the difference between 128kbps and 256/320kbps clearly. 192kbps was definitely better, but not as noticeable of an improvement compared to 128kbps vs. 256/320kbps.
- Left and right balance was clearly defined. Really impressive!
Cons
- Anything higher than 50%-60% and the sound became unbalanced, muddy in some environments, and generally unpleasant. In larger environments, it definitely showed how small this speaker is. Which is not a bad thing, but it was marketed as having bigger sound than its physical size. That’s true, but to a point, like in my living room with vaulted ceilings. The bass almost disappears, and when I push the volume 75% or more it just sounds like I’m pushing the volume of my speaker. However, at 50% it pushes out at 80dB-82dB, which is plenty loud for an enjoyable dance party.
- I don’t use Spotify, so the custom button doesn’t do anything for me. I’d love the ability to have it set a custom EQ for podcasts vs. music.
- Don’t love the light blue color. I prefer a more neutral option, like the Bose black, navy blue, or darker color options in general. Lighter colors get dirty faster, especially if this is meant to travel.
- I would like the battery life to be integrated into the iOS battery widgets. I have this available to all of my other headphones and various speakers.
Almost Perfect
- Make the custom button truly custom.
- Add the battery level to the iOS battery widget.
Other Notes
- Overall, really good sound, nice form factor, great battery life, and other good features.
- The removable handle isn’t a feature to me. In fact, I contemplated putting it as a con because it’s something that could fail. It does seem strong, so I don’t think it’s a con right now, but it is worth sharing my thoughts.

detailedReviews 80: content: I was so excited to get to test this out just in time for the summer - and let me tell you - that sound is loud and full! The bass is full but the treble and mids are pretty clear too (just as long as you don’t turn it up all the way). It’s a hefty speaker but the handle helps with that. And I just love that it charges by usb-c - since for the most part that’s the only charging cable I really possess. As someone with neuropathy issues and someone who is neurodivergent and therefore sometimes need to be in control of my sensory input more than the average person - this really does it for men the buttons are easy to push so my numb burning fingers don’t hurt too badly when controlling the speaker - and the max gets loud enough to give me the level of sensory input I need - just short of using some nose qc ultra headphones instead for something a little more personal. The speaker runs for a good 20 hours so I’ve only really had to plug it in to charge it once now - pretty convenient. Honestly if I had any complaints about the speaker it would be that the mids can get a little muddy if you’re not too careful with the volume. But otherwise - no issue.

detailedReviews 83: content: I always have music on whether I'm working or winding down, and this speaker takes listening to the next level! The sound is so rich for a variety of styles - lofi beats, film scores, and it absolutely elevates the songs from my local jazz radio station. On this note, the bass is phenomenal and truly rounds out the drums and bass guitar - so much so that when I put on the Dune Part II soundtrack, my dog sat up probably thinking someone was at the door!
Functionally, the handle is comfortable to hold and the speaker itself is soft to the touch. Bluetooth is easy to pair and I like that you're able to rename the speaker from the Bose app. Battery life is solid (in my experience, about 10% usage for two hours of listening) and charging is fast. The only feature I have not tested is the water resistance because I tend to err on the side of caution with such things.
I'm also looking forward to bringing the Soundlink Max to more future pop-up events, as I recently curated a jazz playlist for my small business.

I like that it has the handle on it which makes it easy to carry around. My friend and I like to listen to music when we play pickleball, and this was an amazing addition to our games. detailedReviews 89: content: The Bose SoundLink Max is an amazing powerhouse portable speaker to listen to your favorite music everywhere you go! The Max keeps the party going and tunes pumping for hours. The sound is crisp, and clear, and boasts punchy bass and smooth treble. Don't let its size fool you, I was so surprised by the incredible volume range of the Bose Soundlink Max. In fact, on full blast, I could still hear my music clearly from over 250 feet away! One of the most unique things I love about this speaker is was made for adventure. I'm always outdoors, exploring rugged terrain, and adventuring around water. Believe it or not the Max Freaking FLOATS in water!!! How cool is that!
I travel full-time as an adventure filmmaker, professional diver, and vanlifer on YouTube!
Please Subscribe to see my adventures and say ALOHA! :)
The Max is perfect for small spaces like a van or studio apartment.
If you're looking for a high-quality, reliable, and durable portable speaker anyone can enjoy, look no further than the Bose Soundlink Max. Bose has created a reputation of bold superior audio quality and the Max achieves that perfectly.
Pros:
1. Super crisp audio quality.
2. Blazing fast and easy Bluetooth pairing.
3. Long battery life.
4. Includes a custom setting button set using the Bose App.
5. IP67 Water Resistance Rating.
6. Floats when dropped in water.
7. Customizable listing experience with the Bose App to specifically fine tune your desired EQ.
Cons:
1. The price is quite high compared to other portable speakers available in the market.
2. I wish there were more handle and mounting options.

detailedReviews 90: content: Great sounds! deep base but expensive!!
compared it to my soundcore motion boom plus and tbh its actually louder than this soundlink max!.. yes go on youtube and see reviews but all are done with in 2 feet distance. i placed both speakers against the wall in my garage and walked away about 20 ft. had the volume set the same on both and the montion boom plus was way louder!. will i keep the Bose yes.. only because i was able to price match and had some rearwards points.
if it wasn't for the savings i would of returned this speaker the next day and stick with my soundcore speaker.
buy it and try the distance review..

detailedReviews 91: content: The sound quality of the Bose SoundLink Max is amazing—definitely my top choice over other speakers. The vocals are very pronounced, which I personally prefer. However, other sounds like the instruments tend to be muffled or slightly trimmed down, with the focus more on the vocals and bass.
Compared to the Soundcore X600, Soundcore X600 offers more detailed and balanced sound with a crisper voice, I find it a bit harsh for my taste. I prefer the signature sound of Bose, with its immersive bass, impressive battery life, and strong emphasis on vocals.

detailedReviews 92: content: I upgraded about a month ago from the SoundLink flex to the SoundLink Max for my secondary home theater setup in the kitchen. I spend about as much time in the kitchen as I do the living room, so we invested when the Black Friday price was right. With Dolby Atmos enabled on our big Galaxy tablet, it's a nice experience, filling the kitchen with sound. Once The equalizer in the Bose app was set with bass increased, dialogue is clear, and the sound is very full. At the msrp, I wouldn't have upgraded, but with $100 off it's sound investment or something I listen to every day. Even with TV and movies.

detailedReviews 93: content: The audio quality of this speaker is truly immersive! The base is especially striking. Every last note is clear and defined, and even the finest of details in every song is discernible. A trait of a quality speaker.
The design is sleek and simple. I particularly love the detachable carry strap which is handy when taking it outdoors for barbecues and social gatherings.
The silicone exterior may attract some dust at times. In addition, I feel the openings could allow moisture from unexpected wet weather to ingress. However, the exterior provides me with reassurance that the speaker will be safe against the wear and tear of every day use.
This maximum experience in sound sets the mood for my day, and has become fundamental for my evening vibes when spending time with family and friends.

detailedReviews 94: content: Whoosh! Amazing speakers - two in stereo 'tandem' will cope with any location you need - large hall to small intimate dining room!
Their robustness hides their incredible 'fidelity' - don't expect these to last less than your lifetime. Yes they are Bose quality - but their design, sound and practicality are still outstanding. They've made the 'stereo' linking more logical and with two buttons presses you're away! If music is your premier media - as it is with me (and my sax contribution to a Concert Band!) - you'll have these speakers on eternal loop!

detailedReviews 95: content: First of all, I recommend listening to Bose Soundlink max live because only then can you truly feel and appreciate the sound quality of this bluetooth speaker. What distinguishes this particular model is very good detail and sound stage. Bose is famous for its purity of sound and very well-balanced tones while offering spatiality and separation of instruments, which makes a big difference when you listen to music rich in detail. The bass is deep and well-controlled, which makes the sound full, but not overwhelming. Bose will play more detailed and realistic with greater purity and refinement than jbl xtreme 4...

detailedReviews 96: content: I am somewhat underwhelmed with the Bose Max. The sound, while exceeding the majority of other manufacturers units, is not up to the standard that I am accustomed to with the many Bose Products that I own. I would not return it, but I may not use it as frequently.
In addition, the “SoundLink” technology has not been perfected. The delay between 2 speakers creates a doubling effect which is unacceptable especially in “Party” mode. Also, the process to link the speakers is near impossible to achieve without multiple tries. On the wish list is the ability to link more than two speakers.

detailedReviews 97: content: I am a huge fan of classical and jazz/big band music and this speaker is absolutely superb. It gives excellent rendering of the music and allows the timbre of the instruments to be heard. My favourite instruments ard clarinet and saxophone and they sound great. There is plenty of bass and there enough power for a sizeable room. Speaker is very compact for a stereo speaker and it looks like a premium product. Battery life is excellent. A worthy successor to my Revolve Plus speakers!

detailedReviews 98: content: I ADORE this speaker! It is one of those things that you don't know you need until you have one and you realize how enjoyable it is! This speaker held a charged battery for hours without needing to plug in, so I was able to enjoy listening to music the whole time I was gardening and cleaning up outside my yard. The actual sound is so clear, crisp, and LOUD! You can adjust how much bass, treble, etc. that you want easily through the app. Finally, setting up the wifi and Bluetooth connections to use it was super easy and seamless. I had no issues at all. I think it is important to add that my device remained connected for seamless music play from my phone (on Bluetooth). The connection did not drop, glitch, unlink, or anything! That is super important to me! Super happy with this and it is really a wonderful product.

detailedReviews 99: content: This Bose SoundLink Max has awesome stereo sound. If you are wanting a portable Bluetooth compatible stereo speaker this is the one to purchase. After reading reviews that stated the speaker does not come with a handle, I called and talked to a Bose customer service representative. I was told that was correc, the Bose speaker does not come with a handle.. So I purchased a handle. The reviews were wrong and the customer service rep was wrong. It came with a matching handle attached. I plan to send the extra handle I purchased back to Bose.

detailedReviews 100: content: I have a bit of am obsession with bluetooth speakers. I have three Marshalls, two JBLs, a B&O, two UE Booms, one Sony, one Soundcore Motion 600 and a Bose Soundlink Flex. I just purchased the Bose Soundlink Max. After one full day of use and comparisons with the other competitive offerings that I own, the Max is definitely the clear winner. Of course, this is only my personal opinion based on the only ears that I have... :) I truly believe that it is difficult to take any review and run with it. We are all different and listen to different types of music. I tried everything from Andrea Boccelli to Led Zep and was very pleased with the sound. I know it's expensive, but I think you will be happy with the purchase. That being said, if you want to save money the Motion 600 would be a great choice as well. Good luck with your shopping. Peace & love to all.
