detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: I bought this recently due to its recent popularity on the internet. I have also purchased the corale and the air wrap, both huge fans of, however I was looking for something easier than the air wrap that didn’t require me constantly changing accessories to achieve a straight blow dry, in combination with the corale. On the regular basis, I enjoy styling my hair as a straight blow dry. At first I was a bit skeptical, was it really possible to go from wet to dry STRAIGHT hair, and indeed it was. What would normally take me at least a few go’s with a round brush on my air wrap now only takes around 2 swipes as you would a straightener to not only blow dry my hair, but simultaneously straighten aswell. Clenching the two plates together to double as a blow dryer was also another bonus onto this. I also enjoyed the functions where you can blow dry straight not just being restricted to dry but also wet hair and temperature to vary from hot to cold. I also enjoyed the fact that it detects motion and realises that when it’s not being used, automatically enters into a power saving pause mode instead of turning off the device and on again per break, which can be tedious and frustrating. Also, when the device is first turned on it enters a cleaning mode for about 3 seconds before it is ready for use which is convenient as it saves from manual cleaning. I honestly cannot recommend this product enough and find myself reaching for this more than anything else out of my hair tools to achieve an effortless blowout in 5 minute for thick long wavy hair, and has also captured the attention of many of my friends who enjoy utilising it aswell and are fascinated by the results too!

detailedReviews 2: content: I bought this to only pass it on after 5months of usage.
I really thought this would be the ideal device for keeping my hair straight and kempt through the day.
My hair type includes long, thick, frizzy and wavy hair texture.
Pros of dyson airstrait
1. Kept my hair straight most parts of the day, was a little wav by the end of the day.
2. Dual function of a hair dryer and a straightener is indeed helpful if I only wanted to dry my hair and not straighten it.
3. Beautiful device and colour
4. Absolutely innovative design
Cons of the dyson airstrait
1. Price is exorbitant (but then again so are most dyson products)
2. It takes some getting used to its weight. The airstrait isnt too heavy but neither is it light. So it does takes some endurance and strength to use the device when getting through the whole head of hair.
3. It takes very long to straighten my hair evenly straight because it requires doing it in sections since the airstrait can only straighten a small amount of hair at a time. So it is time consuming to do it everyday after my hair wash, which event led me to not look forward to drying/straightening my hair after a bath.
4. Despite its non heat damage feature being a top feature; there is still heat in the hot air blowing at your hair! For straightening to be more effective, higher temperate settings is required if not you’ll be setting it at a lower temperature setting but straightening the same amount of hair a few times which becomes more time consuming.
5. Because of the high temperature of the hot air blowing, my hair was still slightly damaged after 5months of usage despite adding heat protectant cream.
6. Not evenly straightened hair after every usage. It was difficult for me to find a rhythm with this device because at times, my hair remained straight through the most of the day, sometimes my hair gets wavy faster or is not evenly straighten which is frustrating. So that meant, using higher temperature settings and adding more passes at the same section of the hair (which made my hair very hot when touched!)
7. The major con is the high hair loss I had through the 5months which got me very worried. My husband and I noticed a lot more hair on the floor after every usage of the device because the nature of the device is to pull the hair downwards and blowing hot air downwards. So the more passes = more hair loss. So by the 5th month, I decided that usage of the airstrait is not good for my hair health for the long run.

title: I bought this to only pass it on...
detailedReviews 3: content: I have been using the Dyson Airstrait for a month now so feel ready to share my thoughts. I’ll start off by saying I have no regrets buying this, but it may not be for everyone and I’ll explain why. As someone who owns the Dyson air wrap and rarely uses it because of how time consuming it is and how frizzy it makes my hair no matter what I do, I was super sceptical when it came to buying the AirStrait, worried about the frizz and whether I’d just end up having to go over my hair again with a hot iron. I did not need to worry because the Dyson airstrait is amazing, it has my hair from wet to perfectly sleek and straight in 10-15 mins (depending on how much effort I put it). I am so happy that I never need to use my hot iron again or pick up my hair dryer too. It works great on dry hair too for the day after when you want to touch your style up!
The reason I say this may not be for everyone is because the device is obviously very one dimensional in the sense that it can only deliver sleek poker straight hair. For me, I love that look, but for others they may not. You can’t even get a flick or a nice curve with the airstrait and it can make hair look flat/gives my hair no volume at all (for me I like).
Another pro but also a con in a way, is that the airstrait makes my hair soooo soft that i can’t do anything else with it as it won’t hold any other style on days 2/3 - like my ponytail can’t even stay in place cause my bobble slides out of my soft hair.
Finally, the elephant in the room is…the plug size. Yes it’s huge and it could be a problem depending on where you need to plug it in. I have no issues at home but I recently took this to a hotel and I couldn’t plug it in by the vanity because the plug socket was too low. You need to make sure you have clearance space of around 20cm id say underneath the plug you intend to use this device.
Overall though this is a fantastic addition to the dyson hair range and I love it.

title: I have been using the Dyson Airstrait for...
detailedReviews 4: content: I am really quite impressed with the Dyson Airstrait. Although I was initially skeptical, I am able to get my hair from wet to pin-straight & dry in basically one step.
Positives are:
Ease of use, device is light, very beautifully made. It still impresses me that I was able to get my hair SO dry and SO straight while staying on the "Wet" setting, basically exclusively the lowest heat + middle heat of the "Wet" mode settings...so no extreme heat AT ALL. After watching some YouTube videos, I also found that I was able to get my ROOTS perfectly straight as well, which is not evident when you first start off with the AirStrait.
And then if you want to do extra straightening, you can use the "Dry" mode; however I found that I really didn't need to - which was pretty surprising, given that I have thick, coarse, dry, curly, bleach-damaged hair. Even my boyfriend was amazed how effective the Airstrait was in getting my hair pin-straight "without all the steam" (read: damage).
Another benefit: it shuts off after a few seconds if you're not using it...which at first I thought was a negligible benefit - but after using it, I find it *so* helpful that the AirStrait remembers your previous setting and just turns on when you pick it up again....which eliminates fiddling with the buttons each time.
Negatives: It does take a minute to learn how to use, but overall pretty easy. I also find that you have to get used to opening and closing the arms, so that could get tiring if you're not used to it...but not really too different from a traditional flat iron.
Overall: a great addition to your haircare arsenal - I highly recommend it!

title: I am really quite impressed with the Dyson...
detailedReviews 5: content: I was gifted the Dyson Airstrait in exchange for my honest review. I have the Airwrap (purchased) as well and will share how they compare. First off, I received the Ceramic Pink shade and it is BEAUTIFUL, seriously a work of art. The pros of the tool: it combines 2 steps - I can go from wet to pin straight with one tool in about 12 minutes. The way I use it is to close the tool and blow dry my hair roughly, concentrating on the roots. Then I section it off and start using the tool. I do 2 slow passes over each section and it gets my hair completely dry and very straight, as if I used a flat iron. What I like about it over a flat iron is that my fine hair feels more full and looks more voluminous compared to when I use a straightener. Also, with Dyson technology I don’t need to use as high heat, so it is better for my hair and more protective. If I would say any drawbacks for the product I would say the size of both the tool and the cord, it would deter me from packing it for a trip, but fine to use at home. As well, it changes the way it blows out air if the tool is clamped together vs open, so it changes the sound coming out depending on if it’s open or closed which is a little annoying (sensory issues), compared to if it made a constant hum. Compared to Airwrap, the Airstrait definitely gets it straighter than any Airwrap attachment ever could, so I think it serves a unique function. Overall, I love the results it gives and I love how fast it works by combining both blow drying and straightening. Very happy with my Airstrait.

detailedReviews 6: content: Imagine those hardcore dyson hand dryers you use at the shops. Now scale that power down into a convenient handheld version. Thats kinda what this device is like.
It doesn’t pull, it doesn’t frizz your hair. It’s like rolling a hair straightener and hair dryer in one and boy does it pack some serious power. I have thick frizzy mid back length hair and have achieved towel dried wet to natural straight in 10 minutes. For sleek straight, it’s about 15 minutes all up.
I have heavily bleach damaged hair and any amount of pulling will break my hair off pretty easily. I bought this because my old flat iron was tugging and my hair was breaking. Have since been able to retire the flat iron and the blow dryer.
Curling is not possible in the traditional sense however if you are handy with a round/barrel brush, you can achieve an excellent blow wave and big loose curls with the right dexterity and hair product.
Touch ups are easy, you can choose cool, warm or hot temperatures depending on your needs. If like me, air moisture turns you back to frizzy, it only takes a minute on warm or cool mode to return your hair back to its gloriously smooth style again.
Over all, id say this is a game changer worth investing in. I contacted dyson while the parcel was in transit because there was a price drop. They also refunded the difference in cost, no questions asked. It was seamless and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy direct from them again.
Legends!

detailedReviews 7: content: I was on the fence for a while about purchasing this as I have had bad experiences with Dyson vacuums but after watching many YouTube reviews and comparisons with a similar product I decided I had to give Dyson another chance and I am so glad I did.
The Dyson Airstrait totally blew me away! I am in love! My hair is damaged from frequent bleaching, is is a fair length and is very thick, course and porous. The Airstrait dries each section of my from wet to dry in two passes. My hair holds water and takes hours to air dry and half an hour with a blow dryer.
The Airstrait dried my hair and perfectly pin straightened it all in 20 mins…frizz free, incredibly smooth and soft and it stays that way all day and I even wake up with it fairly straight and frizz free in the morning.
I am totally converted, this is by far the best hair tool I have ever used and my hair really does not feel like it is being damaged, the is no sizzle no harsh heat plates, it is so easy to use and is a lot quieter than my hair dryer.
It is easy to manage through my hair I don’t feel that it is heavy at all and does not hurt your arms from holding it on the hair for any period of time.
I love that you can use the cold setting to set your hair and that you can use it as a dryer to get your roots dry quickly.
I normally sweat on a hot day drying my hair but I do not have this problem with the Airstrait.
Honestly I could go on and on about how impressed I am by the performance of this hair tool and I am so glad that I invested in this product, my hair is already thanking me and the results show through as people always ask me if I’ve just had my hair done at the salon.

detailedReviews 8: content: The Dyson Airstrait has drastically changed the way I do my hair at home. I am not a professional stylist but would spend a couple of hours at a hair salon getting rollers and a blowout. For reference my hair texture is frizzy, medium fine, 2C hair type. My hair length is several inches past my shoulders, mid back. I live in Florida and the humidity here is insane. In the past, blow drying my hair from wet was very damaging so I did not have high expectations but decided to try for myself based on the positive reviews. My other concern was the look of stick straight, stiff hair. Well, I could not believe how silky and shiny my hair felt after trying the Airstrait for the first time. It took me about 45 minutes with 2-3 passes per section and one more pass on Boost mode. The Airstrait got close to my roots which was important for me. Surprisingly, despite my hair being straight, my hair still had some volume. My hair looked incredible and I received many compliments on how healthy my hair looked. I also find that my hair stays straight for several days without the need of wrapping my hair at night which is unheard of for me. The price is steep but I accumulated ULTA points and waited for their 20% off sale on Dyson. When I calculate how much I spend at the salon it is well worth the price in the long run for me. Overall, I would recommend the Airstrait if you are looking to keep your hair healthy and want a straight look without the need of a flat iron.

detailedReviews 9: content: This is a great start to an obvious hair dryer straighter combo. That said, it’s a start and I hope future models will improve.
I have fine, shoulder length hair I like to wear in a bob or curl into beach waves. The hope was that I’d throw my straighter and dryer into the bin and replace it with this product. This product kind-of achieves the bob but it lacks the same blow out bounce I like. I wasn’t able to create beach waves at all. So it really depends what you’re trying to achieve with this product. I suspect it might suit longer hair where you are aiming for a straight sleek outcome with no aim to create body.
I also would have liked to have been able to control the fan speed. Perhaps there’s a way to do this but it wasn’t intuitive.
The other slight criticism relates to the look and feel of the product - it’s frankly bulkier than imagined. The power cord plug has a really large, bulky power adaptor. Not the greatest travel companion. It also would’ve been nice to have it come in a heat proof bag for travel because the hair dryer straightener combo lends itself to streamlining your travel essentials. Perhaps future models will offer sleek design features.
I see huge potential but it just doesn’t achieve my goals at this point. I plan to use the Dyson hairdryer and stick with my flat iron till then.

detailedReviews 10: content: I am still in the learning curve on this product. For point of reference I have very thick, dry and frizzy hair that takes a long time to dry and I hoped that this tool would go faster than my normal dryer time plus spending time with the Corrale flat iron. I've not made this work well for me yet. First, because of the thickness of my hair and length above shoulders I feel the ends look too blunt and dry. The tool does not allow you to put any shaping in. I get better success using the Corrale to turn ends under a bit and look blended. I think that this tool is designed for long hair because it seems to need a longer length than I have to really pull it through. It's really dang hot on my neck and shoulders because I have to linger there too long. A couple things I think are needed. One. it's so big it cannot provide the finesse needed for shaping. Two. it is almost too lightweight. I appreciate that it is easier to hold up while you move around the head but it does not clamp down enough to really get ahold and put tension on the hair for a straight shiny look. Three. It might be better with some teeth to grip on to the hair. My hair requires i comb through with one hand and follow with the air straight and it still gets little tangles and moves around in the plates. I do give props for its innovativeness. It does take less time to dry although I'm still finishing with the Corrale but with less time for that process.
