detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: Ryan Air and other discounter airlines are SUPER STRICT now with the carry on allowances and THIS WEEKENDER IS THE SOLUTION! The bag itself weighs almost nothing with EXCELLENT interior organization and a nice long adjustable removable strap. I can do a 2 night/3 day weekend almost anywhere with this baby. The outside front zipper holds my tickets, ipad and charger cord perfectly, The interior back wall holds shoes, quart bag approved toiletry kit with comb & brush, the front wall pockets perfectly organize lingerie, socks, makeup/ jewelry/accessories and the VB travel umbrella. The roomy main compartment holds the VB medium and small packing cubes,my fav travel style crossbody purse and my Sony Nex 6 camera with an additional lens, charger & a small care kit . All the misc cords & iphone charger go into a utility zipper pouch which tucks in beside the umbrella. This all fits with a bit of room to spare and weighs EXACTLY 20 pounds...leaving 2 pounds available for a souvenir or two returning home. I sling the long strap crossbody for ease in carrying/boarding, trains, buses, taxi's & walking , etc to stay hands free for other things. When I do have a checked bag, the slip pocket on the back easily fits over my double handle rolling bag and VB pop of color brightens the basic black of the rolling bag! I am now a HAPPY TRAVELER ! THIS BAG IS PERFECTION AND SOLVED THE PROBLEM OF LOSING PRECIOUS WEIGHT TO A WHEELED CARRY ON...THANK YOU VB FOR THIS DESIGN GIFT FROM HEAVEN !!!

detailedReviews 2: content: i got my first weekender in 2015 & bought a second last year. the dimensions fall within the guidelines for most all major airlines for what you can bring as a personal item. it's also super lightweight that it can be carried comfortably via the long shoulder strap. it fits everything you need for a 3 day weekend trip, including extra shoes & travel toiletries. i cannot recommend this bag enough, especially for people who don't want to pay for carry on bags on lower cost airline tickets. for reference, i've flown on dozens of frontier flights with my vera bradley weekender as my personal item packed to the brim and have had zero problems!

Even stuffed to the brim, this bag fits underneath the seat in front of you on the airplane. I've had several airport employees question this bag, saying I think that's too big and won't fit.... However, can confirm it DOES fit. It is also has the suitcase handle holder (seen in a photo above), which makes it even easier to transport throughout the airport and cities!
This is by far my favorite bag I own for traveling & if anyone is looking for a good personal size bag, this is it! The one I have has lived a long, well-travelled life and I know I will be buying a new one very soon!

I was able to bring my carry-on roll luggage and this weekender bag and put my roll luggage in the overhead bin and fit this weekender bag under the seat in front of me. Even packed crazy full it still fit under the seat in front of me! I love that it has the strap on the side to slip it onto the handle of my roll luggage. It was the perfect combo to take with me for a week long business trip and not have to check any bags. The quality is fantastic and this will definitely be my go-to bag for all my traveling needs!!! I have already taken it on two other weekend trips and it fit everything I needed. I also love the front pocket -- it's easy to access without having to dig around so I put my phone, keys, passport, cell phone chargers, plane tickets, etc in that pocket and it's perfect. Would highly recommend this bag, especially if you want to put it under the seat in front of you on a flight!

detailedReviews 5: content: I logged 90,000 airline miles last year, ( yes, with four zeros). So I am very picky about my carry on. I have used the same one for fourteen years. I recently tried the framed weekender and it was a bust. I have flown twice with my new weekender ( no frame) and it is great. I am able to fit my travel blanket, travel pillow, head phones, a quart bag of liquids, a half gallon size Baggie of food, tooth brush, hair brush, medicine, and Kleenex, a VB large cosmetic bag full of knitting, two phones, an I pad, a nook, a VB wallet (the big one), two charging cords and a bottle of water in the bag and the bag fit under the airline seat. Every thing I need or want for a 14 hour flight. It fit well on the handle of my roll aboard and was easy to move thru three airports. It held a lot of weight with out worry about the straps holding up or slipping. The pas port pocket is great. I like that it fits against the suitcase handle so it is more secure, and the other pocket fit the water bottle perfectly. A great travel bag with lots of room and flexible enough to fit under the seat.

detailedReviews 6: content: We often fly to cities that aren't what you'd call major cities, which means we're often on the smaller, regional aircraft. When I first read that the Weekender fit under an aircraft seat, I was a bit skeptical that it would fit under the seats of all the types of aircraft we fly. But this year we have made many trips to smaller cities, requiring 2 or 3 hops to each city, and I want to assure anyone thinking of taking this as their carry-on (I always have to check a much larger bag), that the Weekender will absolutely fit under any seat. In fact, even when we have sat in the front row of our section (where normally they won't let you have anything on the floor until you reach approx. 10,000 ft.), I have found that I can tuck this under MY seat. (Yes, it bulges out a bit, but not enough that I've been told to move it.) And I still mange to put my own fairly sizable purse off to the side of it. Inside it, I have my iPad (tucked in its own slim Tablet Hipster), my headphones, which are stored in a rather large case, a large water bottle, numerous snacks, several magazines, the VB Mini Chain Bag (minus the chain, carrying all sorts of items a woman might want in the restroom), the Mirror Cosmetic with small sizes of everything I might need by way of skin care for the entire day, a full-sized hat that can be rolled up, a lightweight sweatshirt, my 1-qt. clear bag of liquids to go through security (which I keep in the outside pocket to access quickly), and my camera in its case with all accessories. It probably sounds like I'm advertising for VB, but I'm not--it's just that identifying these pieces by name gives you an exact understanding of the size of what all I fit in there.

detailedReviews 7: content: The feel of the fabric isn't quite the feel Im used to on a Vera bag, it feels more slick. The bag feels much lighter in weight than my cotton weekenders, I'm not sure how I feel about that because I am left wondering how it will hold up over time. The inside fabric not being quilted to the outer fabric causes a loss in body of the bag, making it harder to load because of it sagging. I like that the plastic base removes for washing of the bag so it doesn't crinkle or get wavy. I miss the piping on the handles. Overall I like the bag and look forward to putting it to work.

It's perfect for carrying all my beach things ( I live in Florida so go to the beach often) because it's roomy , has side pockets for my drink, washable , bendable for storage on the boat to fit into tight storage bins and the pad on the shoulder strap is a must when carrying all my beach things across the sand ! I'm 63 with RA and a bad ankle so comfort is necessary when carrying a beach bag . I also have another bag of the same kind different print that I use when traveling for all my cosmetics blow dryer, etc. so it's first as well. And I love that. It's washable because life happens.
