content: We have been looking for a new fridge-freezer for months and finally decided on this one despite the price. We have a very small kitchen but we really needed more fridge-freezer space and we opted for the french door type as 1) the doors are half the width when you open them and 2) because the style is more our kitchen cupboards (in a way!) and it would be less of a huge steel obelisk in the kitchen. Turns out it was the right choice both for appearance and it's other features. It is big but doesn't fill up our kitchen! We also wanted a fridge that had a meat drawer. This one has a very big meat drawer which keeps meat around 0 degrees, and also a big veg drawer with adjustable moisture levels. These drawers don't have those awful pull out tracks (like my old bosch fridge) and they open and close really well. I don't know if it could have had another fridge shelf, as it only has two - maybe - but on the other hand, if you have big things to put in, you don't have a glass shelf standing around with nowhere to go. The freezer is lovely - so big! I haven't had this much space in a fridge freezer in my life! Finally I can store all the food I want. It doesn't have that kind of cooling that evens out the temperature in the fridge, which is great because I want a different temperature at the top compared to the bottom. It cools and freezes really fast and keeps temperature. You don't get condensation or pools of water. It doesn't have water or ice "on tap" which is good, because the space is absolutely maximised. It's wonderfully convenient to take things out or put things away. You can see everything in it. The door racks can be moved and they are nice and big. It's also very quiet. It's got two nice big freezer drawers along with the other normal sized ones. It also has four wheels so you can move it if you need to, quite easily. It's got a brushed steel look, which gives it a slightly textured appearance, and the controls are really good. They are very big and at a convenient level and are sort of at a diaganal to the door, and appear black, like part of the trim, when not in use. This lovely fridge has settled in and become a very welcome member of the family! If you can afford this I would say go for it! We could not have had a better fridge.

content: Bought in Autumn 2023 to replace very old (but still working!) Bosch fridge/freeezer. Good price with cash back offer and 5 -year warranty included (vital, I'd say, on an appliance this big and costly). Although huge and imposing, as all such appliances are, the KFN96VPEAG is very smart to look at and appears to be well made. I chose this model because we wanted more fridge space and because it does NOT have an ice-cube maker or water chiller, so needs no costly water filters or awkward plumbing. So far it has swallowed everything we needed it to, even at Christmas. The new fridge is also very quiet and I am assuming that it is using a pleasingly small amount of electricity (another reason I chose this Bosch model - many others use have much higher power consumption figures). Minor areas where I feel that some impovement could be made (but none of these mean that I regret my purchase): - Freezer does not have a slide-out shelf to put ice cube trays into, so making ice means carefully balancing them in one of the compartments on top of other items. - I can't seem to work out a way to position all 5 of the door compartments so that they are all useful and that more than one of them can be used for taller items like milk containers, wine bottles, or even juice cartons. - It's quite easy unintentionally to trigger one of the touch-sensitive controls in the door handle area when opening or closing, for instance switching on "super" or changing the compartment temperatures. It's not obvious how to reverse any such change (well, I know, but other household members don't). I preferred the simple buttons on the old unit, and that had a temperature gauge inside its freezer too. I was surprised that the display on the front only shows the target temperatures, not actual measurements of the temperatures. - To be able to pull out the fruit/veg drawer on the left it's necessary to open both right and left fridge doors; I can see why this happens because of the way that the doors seal together. For me, it would have been preferable to have the less-frequently accessed meat/fish drawer (which is kept somewhat colder) on the left.

It’s very quiet and you only hear the motor humming when you put it on super freeze or super fridge setting for it to cool quickly when you’ve just filled it up with lots of items. There are some points of improvements to be made such as the sound to let you know the doors are not closed. It will not sound if the door is slightly open, only if it’s left wide open. Also the veg/fruit drawer could do with having the option of swapping it round to the other side where the meat drawer is as you can’t open the veg drawer without opening both doors of the fridge yet you can do so with the meat drawer and I find I access the veg drawer more often throughout the day.

The main design fault is that you have to open both doors of the fridge in order to pull out one of the bottom drawers which has salad/vegetable in. Also, although there are alarms on the fridge doors that go off when you leave a door open, the alarm did not go off when a freezer door was left very slightly ajar and consequently that side of the freezer iced up.

Only criticism is that I would have preferred the side panels to have the same finish as the doors as we haven't placed it into a recess. The left-hand drawer cannot be opened without first opening both doors due to the door strip. Making the drawer 25mm narrower would have solved this and I would prefer the loss of that small amount of storage to remove the need to open both doors.

content: I would not recommend this appliance to anyone. The good part is the freezer section which has sturdy, good-sized drawers and seems reliable. The bad part is the fridge section, which has a deliberate cooler section: the instructions state that this area is intended for meats and fish and can go below 0C. However, it often goes to -5C before going back to +2C and so we are having food be slightly frozen and slightly defrosted over time. It essentially means that we have a section of the fridge that we do not trust or use. We might end up storing condiments that aren't affected by going below 0C in there. I suspect that this swing in temperature is affecting the rest of the fridge area - we've occasionally had vegetables in the rest of the fridge area freeze. Further, this is the second of this model that we've got - the first version failed and could not be repaired so we were supplied with a like-for-like replacement. The replacement also failed but could be repaired, which makes me wonder how reliable this appliance is. Do not buy.

Swallows up pretty much everything we put into it, maintains a constant temperature, bright internal lights and all round a sturdy fridge. My only gripe is that you’re unable to pull the bottom fridge shelf drawer out without opening both sides of the fridge, but not a deal breaker.

content: 4.5 stars is not an option, very good product. After 6 weeks of use it hasn't put a foot wrong. Looks great, does waht it says on the tin very well and has large capacity. Only reason I wanted a new F-F is because the old one was never quite big enough for those occasions when you need it. Well, this one delivers that space for us! It hasn't frozen any fridge food either, which I have suffered in the past. Only quibbles are 1). The front has nylon casters that don't rotate and don't lock when in position, so heavy-ish knocks can move the unit 2). The touch sensitive controls that are recessed will change settings if you open the door with high hands 3). The doors don't shut themselves as easily as the last F-F (perhaps the rear feet are adjustable and I overlooked that in the instructions 4). The outer thin plastic protectors are really hard to remove and takes patience. These are all small and I can live with them. These are the only reasons for not giving the unit 5 stars, perhaps I'm just stingy.
