items: items 1: content: Takes several layers to get a glossy shine otherwise it’s fairly matt and dull on application. The gloss wears off almost immediately and product dries down within 2 minutes to a matt lip stain. Colour is pretty and lasts for a few hours through eating and drinking. However it’s absolutely not a lip oil and it’s extremely drying. I wore this across 2 days- first day a handful of reapplications and my lips felt dry enough for me to need to baste overnight for some moisture. Second day I applied at 9am and by midday my lips were actually sore and they had flakey dry skin and a crack had formed. My lips were then painfully dry for a couple of days and I had to slather them in laneige throughout the day and night to heal. I got this in the advent calendar but absolutely would not repurchase. In fact after 2 days wear it’s going in the bin. Absolutely awful product: it’s not an oil and it’s drying to the point of causing physical pain.

items 2: content: Company makes great products, but this one is a no from me. So: it's very drying and stains, which would be okay for a lip stain, but the issue is it is marketed as a lip oil. I am super confused by that decision.
This dried my lips out for a good 5-7 days after 1 day of use. So, although I liked the color, it had to go. I'll probably try a gloss instead. I am not sure who this is for. . . since it isn't marketed as a stain, but an oil and yet it isn't an oil given how drying it is. I wish Selena's people would just change the label on the product. Make it a lip stain because it is a lip stain.

items 3: content: Whilst I do love this for many reasons. There are some draw backs.
It's drying on the lips and especially so after wearing it for days on repeat. Its not a lip oil, but a lip stain and really should be remakerted as that to avoid disappointment if purchasing expecting a lip oil. The gloss on initial application wears very quickly leaving a nice stain. Now onto the pros. The colours are pretty, great packaging and applicator. It leaves a stain that lasts on me all day and it layers well on itself if reapplying or putting a clear gloss on the stain brings a glossy look. Would I purchase? No, simply because it is too drying. But if the formula was more hydrating then yes!

items 4: content: I was on the fence regarding this product for soooo long and finally decided to try it. I'm glad I did so that I can see for myself that it wasn't for me. For some strange reason, it immediately bleeds into the inside of my lips and creates this weird, white, stringy mess when I separate my lips. (Photo below so you can see what I mean)This happened with all 3 shades that I will be returning. Also, this is EXTREMELY thin. I would not consider this an oil at all. It wasn't nourishing for my dry lips and I didn't care for the minty tingling effect that this has. This was oddly everything BUT a lip oil. I LOVE Rare Beauty, however, this product is a hard pass for me. I will be returning for a full refund. Her Glossy lip balms are phenomenal and THE BEST IN THE GAME BABY with beautiful color payoff! I recommend trying those!

items 5: content: Gifted by rare beauty. Okay, before we really dive in I just want to preface that I don’t necessarily think this product is bad, I just think it was very poorly marketed. If I’m being honest, I think it’s on the fence of false marketing. I was sent this for text review on Skeepers but I wanted to share it here because if I bought this with my own money, I would have been very frustrated with what I received. Claims: 🌿Gel, to lip oil tint: this does initially have a gel texture. It doesn’t feel like a traditional lip oil to start. The gel finish you see in photo 2 only lasts about 5-10 minutes before it completely dries down. The word, tint, is not accurate. This is a lip stain. When applying you need to be careful that you don’t work outside your lips because this will stain your skin, tints don’t do that. Tints fade when the oil fades in every other situation. This “tint” will stay almost all day. When it initially dries down it looks nice, however…next claim 🌿Hydrating: I did not find this to be hydrating at all, in fact I experienced dryness. Which caused the “tint” to look a bit crusty on my lips after prolonged wear. 🌿Long Wearing: this product overall is long wearing. But I don’t find it looks good for a long time, if that makes sense? After a couple hours the product will settle into my lip line, it doesn’t transfer but it doesn’t look cute. Overall I don’t think it’s bad, I just don’t think it meets the marketed expectation. A tinted lip oil in my experience is hydrating & almost zero effort. This wasn’t hydrating & a high maintenance application & reapplication IMO. 🤷🏼♀️ Based on my preferences, it’s just not something I would have purchased if it was more accurately marketed

items 6: content: If you’re going to buy this thinking it’s a lip oil that will give you gloss and moisture then this is not for you. If you want a lip tint that leaves a stain then this product is for you. This is actually a great lip tint but I gave it a 4 star for its misleading product name that indicated it as lip oil. Once applied it gives a cool minty sensation, like having a minty toothpaste on your lips. There’s gloss on the first 20mins after you’ve applied it but it disappears eventually. I noticed that the color does change a few seconds after application, it does oxidize. I’ve got the shade Honesty and I thought it was too light brown upon application but eventually transitioned into a lovely terracotta shade. Although this is not truly a lip oil I love that the lip stain lasts. I recommend this if you’re a fan of lip stain.

items 7: content: This is basically a lip product hat leaves a stain on the lips. The texture isn't like an oil at all, it is more like a thin cream. The colour does oxidise slightly after 10 seconds or so, which I prefer as I feel a lot of the lighter colours would be too pale and neon otherwise. After the colour has settled after application, the texture is pleasant. Not overly moisturising, but hydrating enough. The best thing about this is the stain it leaves, as it truly is a long-wear lip product. I would give this product 5 stars if the course didn't need to oxidise to look good, and if they were able to formulate it so that what you see is what you get.

items 8: content: This is a nice tinted lip oil. The only other one I’ve tried is from ELF. If I were to compare the two, I’d say that ELF is a lot more oily, sticky, and moisturizing, but the tint doesn’t last long at all. This one is less oily and moisturizing, but the tint stays on for hours after it dries. However, I reapply more often for more moisture. So, it’s a nice lip oil. I’d probably buy again because I prefer having the color stay on longer, but I wish it was more moisturizing.

items 9: content: This isn't a lip oil just in case you did not get the memo from others. I bought this when it was released and have been using it off and on for a while to get a genuine feel for the product.
PROS
Decent colour pay off for being a tint
True to colour
Excellent range
CONS
Very drying
Does not last long
(Stains lips)*
*could also be a pro if you're into that
Personally, I do not like this product. It's so drying on my lips, which contradicts it being a lip oil (i.e. moisturizing). The only use of have for it is as a topper over a moisturizing lipstick if I want some dimension to the colour. My lips had a pink tint for hours after I wore it, and I had to reapply every 15 minutes, not ideal! In my opinion, there are better products out there for cheaper, a burts bees balm is 10x better for that pop of colour this offers and a lot less dry. If you want a real lip oil, the NYX ones are great, as are the Clarins ones. If you're looking for a more tinted oil, the Merit ones are good for that but they're less "oil" like.

items 10: content: If you like the no makeup, makeup look. These are for you. I found the 'glossy' oil element wore off very quickly and the colour happy didn't have much of a colour payoff or stain the lips. This wore off extremely quickly and I often thought it looked like I wasn't wearing anything when I had applied it. For this reason I won't be buying it again as seems pointless for the price. The texture feels nice going on but it doesn't leave a hydrated feeling to even feel like a colourless balm or oil. Annoyed I bought into the hype and it just wasn't worth it.

items 11: content: Received this in the advent calendar in shade ‘hope’, it’s very pink, almost a cross between Barbie and baby. I do like quite a few of the other rare beauty makeup items so had high hopes for this but unfortunately I don’t appreciate it as a lip oil. Its colour pay off far outweighs any hydrating properties. If applied at night then the hydrating benefits can’t even be felt by morning and yet the pink shade is definitely still visible. Unfortunately even if it’s used as a lip colour it’s still not great, it appears high shine on application but this aspect soon fades too. It’s ended up in the kids play box I’m afraid

items 12: content: This was just so hyped when it was released that you think it was the cure for cancer! Anyway, I couldn't get my hands on it when it finally came to my local Sephora, most were sold out on the first day. I finally saw some online and as there was a sale, I grabbed my chance to buy it. It's not a bad product, I mean the colour is very nice my shade is Wonder, a medium pink which works well on most skin tones but I don't think that the hype was justified. It does soften the lips and the shine although is nice, it's not long lasting. Many online said that the stain left behind lasts all day, that wasn't the case for me. I think I must have reapplied this many times throughout the day and though that's not a problem at all for me, I must say again that the hype was not justified. A pretty lip stain/oil combo but honestly it's just average.

items 13: content: One of my favourite lip oil stains now comes in a cute mini version. My absolute fave shade is wonder which is a dark pink. It applies wonderfully to the lips with the applicator and leaves a glossy shine on the lips for a small amount of time but turns into a stain for hours which I personally love but it isn’t really a lip oil in my opinion. I love to use it to line my lips and as a lip stain. It also pairs wonderfully with the Lisa Eldridge lipstick in velvet muse
