detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: I picked this phone up for the wife, and after giving it a good test run, so far Apple's done it again, they've cranked out another killer device, but it definitely comes with a price tag to match, but if you're someone who's all about top notch tech, sleek design, and cutting edge features, this phone is worth serious consideration. Honestly the desert titanium finish is gorgeous, and that titanium build makes it feel surprisingly light, considering its size, it's definitely a premium look. She's loving that big, beautiful OLED screen, it's brighter and crisper than ever, making binge watching your favorite shows a real treat. Also that new matte finish on the back is a godsend for anyone who hates fingerprint smudges, we've heard a few people have mentioned it feels a bit heavier than they expected, and it's definitely a handful for those with smaller mitts. Performance wise, the A18 Bionic chip is monster, apps launch instantly, multitasking is a breeze, and it handles games without breaking a sweat, the phone stays surprisingly cool even during long video editing sessions. While the day to day speed might not feel drastically different from the last iPhone, it's undeniably snappy. Now, the camera system is where things get really exciting, especially for my wife, that triple lens setup with the 48MP main sensor is a pretty good for a phone, specially since she takes a lot of pictures and videos, the 5x optical zoom is sharp, and the improvements to night mode are noticeable, and having a dedicated camera button just feels more natural, content creators will love the ProRAW and 8K video recording capabilities (we don't use those but it never hurts to have them), honestly I think the camera bump is a tad bulky, and the image processing improvements aren't a giant leap from her iPhone 15 Pro Max, but overall, it's a pretty good camera system. On the battery front, Apple has finally upped their game, this thing easily lasts a full day of heavy use, also fast charging is quicker than before thanks to the USB C integration, which is a welcome improvement, heavy gaming can drain it faster, but it's a significant improvement.
iOS 18 and Apple Intelligence bring some cool new AI driven features to the table, the personalized Siri experience is pretty slick, and live voicemail transcription is a pretty handy, also the customizable widgets and app placement are a nice touch, too. There have been a few minor software glitches but nothing major, so far Apple Intelligence is exclusive to the Pro models, which might leave some folks feeling a bit left out (just keep that in mind). Connectivity is solid with Wi-Fi 7 and improved 5G, and it also has dual eSIM support, so no major complaints in this area. As for storage, 512GB is more than enough for us, and it's blazing fast. But yeah, the price is steep, you're definitely paying a premium here, and there's no expandable storage, so choose wisely.

title: Killer device with premium look and feel
detailedReviews 2: content: I give it 4 stars depending on what you are upgrading from. If from something older than a 13 or so then it will be a pretty amazing upgrade. But there are still a few dated things about this phone that make me give 1 star less. I feel like Apple is a bit behind the curve at this point. This phone is still pretty amazing but it could be better.
Design: Meh I mean there is only so much you can do with an iPhone or any phone but this is dated. I can't stand the camera bump and how it makes the phone tilt. If you use your phone careless it's a huge pain. The titanium is OK, but honestly the thing is far too heavy. And it got a smidge heavier from the 15 Pro Max, these phones need to lose some weight to be truly comfortable.
Screen: Exceptional. the 120MHz and colors, etc are all great. Apple needs to work on PWM (flickering) if you are sensitive to it (many are not) its not great, Apple could spring a few bucks to have a great MHz but they have not done so and its cheap in my opinion. But overall it's a great display. The 16 Plus should have 120MHz at this point I would have gotten that one if it did. Again Apple being cheap and not bringing tech that should be in 2024 as a minimum on all devices given what they charge.
A18 Pro: amazing I mean iOS will not even blink with this chip. The phone can overheat but so far it's been good compared to my 15Max which was overheating constantly and while annoying would constantly dim the display and that was super annoying when it happened. So let's hope that is truly taken care of.
Colors: So boring. I got the Desert and its nice, its like a Rosy Gold in certain lighting think iPhone 12 or XS. It's not ugly but the colors are just so bland compared to the 16. And it's a shame that Apple cannot seem to release at least 1 fun color or something bold on the Pro. Like Pro people cannot have a bit of fun? Its insane. The white is also quite nice its actually like white not some creamy off white like the 15 pro max was, but like true Apple white. The other colors are meh. If you like Black that is closer to pure black or the Space Black MacBook Pro.
Camera / Button: I dont really use my camera that much, but it's definitely top notch. But so was the 15Pro Max so what are we really gaining here? I feel like these have become more professional cameras and everything is like a side show. That's fine for the pro photographers but I feel like they are missing people that do other things on their phones. The button is meh. It's cool to capture photos relatively quickly but it's positioned weird so your mileage may vary and the scroll thing on is too gimmicky to futz with for me anyway. If you have a case on make sure you get one that supports it or you may not be able to access the button properly and it will drive you nuts.
iOS 18: Again it's OK, I feel like iOS is getting to be bloated. The bottom bar is different in many apps and it drives me nuts particularly on the Max. Even the new you can place icons anywhere is still half baked. And the setup is a hot mess! I dont know who tested that nightmare ugh but I recommend doing the encrypted backup to get started. Phone to Phone is a joke this year. The lack of multitasking on the Max is also a huge missed opportunity. The screen is huge but you cannot do anything different from the smaller one? Like what. that just doesn't make sense.
Battery: Exceptional! This thing lasts forever.
Compared to iPhone 16 Pro: I got the regular Pro first to see if the 6.3 would be good enough since I had a max for years but they are just so heavy I got sick of them. I tried for a few days and it was lighter but still quite dense so the weight savings were not that great overall. The max weighs a bit more but its spread over a larger area so feels less dense and therefore feels lighter. Still they are both heavy. The 16Pro is nice but the 6.3 is just still too small sadly. Hopefully the 6.5 iPhone 17 is the goldilocks with hopefully 120MHz and nice colors.
Overall Its an iPhone and a decent one but for the price it should be better at this point.

detailedReviews 4: content: We have had Samsung Galaxy phones since we switch from an iPhone 3GS to the Samsung S2 Skyrocket a loooong time ago. Ever since then, the iPhone users we knew had to constantly suffer from bad battery life while we always had enough to get through the day (at least since the S20 Ultra and S22 Ultra came out). However, the iPhone 16 Pro Max is in a whole other world of its own. I've used my phone so much the past 2 days at work for battery-intensive firmware upgrades to security hardware that requires a direct bluetooth connection to my device, and ended each day in the 60% range after hours of screen on time with constant upload and download to the devices being upgraded. Today, I've sent probably 100 work-related texts and had my screen on for almost an hour straight troubleshooting a work account issue for someone else and I'm still at 83% at 2PM after starting my day at 5AM with the phone set to just about full brightness and no battery saving settings applied.
In addition to the improved battery life, the screen itself is better than my last Samsung, and the camera is an amazing improvement, especially for macro-type shots for eBay and other e-commerce sites.
Now, has this transition been all roses and butterflies? No, iOS, even iOS 18, is still STUPIDLY restrictive on customization of screen layouts. Is it better than it used to be? Sure, but it still lags behind Android 4, much less Android 14. It also took WAY too much effort to help my wife set up her sender-specific ringtones, but I got that done to save myself from marital discord.

detailedReviews 5: content: This is a really great phone. I upgraded from a 15 pro max so the difference is marginal for most, however, significant for me. I play lots of games, and I noticed the battery life prevailing much longer than my 15 pro max’s batter—like 33% longer. Also, when I play graphically intensive games at max settings, the 16 pro max does not overheat like pavement on a hot summer day. It gets slightly warm, but not hot, which is a huge plus for my hands and the battery health. The .2 mm increase in the screen is nice, as the reduced bezels is nice to look at. iPhones have become the premium option for mobile gaming due to Apple’s bionic chips, and the superior optimization on iOS for most titles. However, for an average user, one may say this phone is entirely overkill. However—however, I personally am enjoying this phone so much and it has worked flawlessly from the day I activated this beast. I have no comment on the AI features, as I opted not to participate in the betas and am not too invested in those features as of yet.

detailedReviews 6: content: Really love my iPhone 16 Pro Max. I don’t notice a huge difference in size between my 15 Pro Max and the 16 Pro Max,. I was hoping there would be more of a difference. The 16 just seems to be marginally longer. My old case practically fits on it! However, the screen is phenomenal, battery life definitely seems to be extended, the phone is fast and I love the new features of iOS 18. My favorite part is the new camera button on the side. You wouldn’t think that already having the ability to slide the screen and open camera or changing the action button to camera would make this button so significant, but it’s placement makes it so easy to use in horizontal or landscape mode. The features associated with the button can be a little bit difficult to use (I.e - zoom, aperture, etc.), but like everything else on this camera, haptics can be customized. I believe with a few changes to suit the owner, those features with the camera button will also be considered a major highlight worth the upgrade.

detailedReviews 7: content: Fantastic speedy phone with an amazing and reponsive camera. Costco were the best value for the latest flagship apple pro max. I upgraded to this powerhorse of a phone, which is on par with the iPad mini. As a female with small hands, I actually adapted quite well to this larger phone and actually prefer the screen size to the pro which is what I usually go for. The extra size and battery life definitely outweighs the pro. Battery life can be stretched to almost 2 days depending on what I do. The phone is super speedy and very responsive to multi tasking. The camera is the most superior feature and this is what really stands out for me. The additional side camera button is super handy for those quick snaps. Overall, super super happy and impressed with my new iPhone 16 pro max. I got the natural titanium and it elegantly fits in with my style and the new apple silicone cases!

detailedReviews 8: content: I preordered the iPhone 16 pro max to pick it up in September on the day it released. Previously, I had an iPhone 12 pro. So my phone was about 4 years old plus I had broken it( yikes).
Now that I’ve had it for about a month, I can say it was so worth the purchase. I love how big it is, the color, and the chrome look on the sides of the phone. Camera wise, AMAZING. My 12 pro had 3 cameras but apple went all out with the 16 camera. I have mine set at 4k and they’re the best photos. The phone is super quick, charges fast, and has more cool features to it. The side camera button and action button on the top left i was most excited about. It’s super convenient when you take photos. As far as the action button, mine is set to turning the ringer on and off. I found it annoying to move my old ringer button left or right.
To add, the brightness and sound are quality. It could just be new phone speakers, but it’s quite loud, in a good way.
If you’re looking for a new phone or upgrade, this is it.

Screen photos and video are Nicer! Same looking at info or watching videos. Music and sound are definitely improved this Model! Those say Unable Use Safari to Delete History Are Also Wrong. You go to Settings, Type Safari in Search and then Tap on. Scroll to see Delete History Options. You may also find in Settings in Apps. But fastest is typing In Settings Search. detailedReviews 10: content: In March 2024 I bought an S24 Ultra from the Samsung website and at first loved it. 6 months later I traded it with someone for an iPhone 15 Pro Max because because Samsung updated it and made and battery life worse. Anyways my 15 Pro Max started overheating about 5 months went to Apple to get all parts replaced just to find out some board failed. After many reviews watched I eventually got this 16 Pro Max 2 weeks ago and so far I love it, the battery life is awesome, the screen is bigger and better looking, I get better reception with and Snapdragon X71 Modem, it’s faster, doesn’t over heat, better camera, better vibration I’ve noticed as well. The only downside I have with this phone is the phone freezes once when I was trying to take a picture of something to search it but then a restart fixed it, also the Picture Cleanup sucks, I don’t use it anyways and never really did on the S24 Ultra. I forgot to mention that if you hold down the power button and say “what’s this song” it works very well.I do recommend this phone.

detailedReviews 11: content: I may be biased, but I absolutely love the iPhone. I always find myself coming back to it. I was on a Pixel as my primary phone (yes, I carry two phones) and a Galaxy before that, and while I love both of those, the iPhone just has a refinement and polish to it that I suppose the other two phones may be missing. I don’t know. And then Apple’s ecosystem is just works pretty much every single time to keep your devices synced. Pure continuity. Which, that is a huge feature in itself. Plus is just simple to use, yet super powerful! Just an OP device. Smartphones are OP in general 😄. It if you are looking for something overpowered and easy to use. The iPhone is it. This color is pleasant too. It has like a slight touch of pink in it. Gives it that rose gold effect. I like it!

I can see more detail within them and they are crystal clear. I am still finding things out, that I never knew existed or I could do with it. I particularly like the new camera control button on the side of the phone that makes it so much easier to use as a camera in a wide range of modes The screen is stunning and a delight to use. detailedReviews 14: content: So I bought this as a replacement for an IPhone 14 pro max 256. The quality is typical Iphone. Beautiful to hold with the right amount of weight to justify the quality. I only bought it as my existing Iphone's battery capacity was too low for me to want to keep it, coupled with a need for higher capacity storage - there was nothing wrong with the phone itself. So far it has proved entirely reliable, and the camera produces excellent quality photos and video. If you pair the phone with a decent set of headphones (the B&O H95 are excellent), the sound quality is, IMO very, very good. Is it a major step up from the 14 or 15? Probably not - however, that really depends on your own requirements.

Glad I can use USB-C now to match my iPad and Mac (long overdue). Phone is larger than my previous iPhone 14Pro Max but you really can’t tell the difference and some of my old cases actually fit (minus the camera button), Titanium case looks nice but wish I had ordered the desert colour instead of natural (I always went for gold previously). detailedReviews 21: content: The iPhone 16 Pro Max has met and exceeded my initial expectations. The ease of transferring data and music from my old iPhone (a 6s Plus - that's not a typo there - which had to be plugged in 80% of the time and less than half my apps were still functional) was outstanding. Transferred from phone to phone rather than using the cloud backup I made and had no issues. I purchased an iPad Pro last year which made it a synch to get used to the interaction differences (no more home button, etc.) between the 6s Plus and the 16 Pro Max. The set-up (transferring from an old phone, in my case the 13 Pro Max, to the new 16 Pro Max) is absolutely excruciating. I am currently trapped in my Apple ID in my old phone, Apple support has not been able to help me in 30 minutes of them giving me numerous useless steps to try- in fact as I'm typing this, the seemingly clueless support agent has NOW just decided to transfer me to "the top department". BUT... the worst thing about this phone? IT IS OVERHEATING. Since I powered it on, brand new and unused, it has been hot to the touch to the point that I can't hold it for very long because it hurts my hand. It has not cooled down, even after all of the setup was finally complete and I closed every single tab that was open during setup and switched the STUPID automatic dim screen setting (my other least favorite thing: it comes with a new Lock Screen setting that is useless and wastes energy and battery power) to OFF...yet the phone is still blistering hot. This is insane! I have not even plugged it into a charger yet- which leads me to the next crappy thing about the phone: it requires a different charger! So all of my iPhone chargers at home and at work are no good, and I have to buy new ones for this particular phone if I ever want to use it. I knew this phone had issues based on other reviews, and I wanted to order the 15 Pro Max for that reason. However, I have AT&T and they SUCK and my trade in for some reason valued at $1,000 when I looked into upgrading to THIS phone, but when I went to upgrade instead to the 15 Pro Max due to the reviews, my trade in value dropped to $250... Even though nothing about my old phone changed, the value changed when I wanted an older (barely) model. That is insane, and I feel like it is an unfair way to manipulate your customers into having to purchase the latest model, even if it sucks and has bad reviews. That said, I just missed a call from Apple Support that I was on the line with earlier because DND was turned on automatically and now I can't have any of the internal issues repaired on either phone unless I want to start this tiring process all over again. So. I'm tired. Don't upgrade to this phone, don't purchase it, wait for the next one or get the 15 models instead.

detailedReviews 26: content: Traded in an iphone 6s for an iphone 16. Nominally, the 16 is faster, has longer battery life, a better camera and a better screen. In day to day use though, I don’t notice much except that the 16 is too big, heavier, and somehow they’ve managed to screw up the volume adjustability such that alarms are too quiet while the lowest volume setting for actual audio is too loud. Yes, you can adjust the settings, but you can only fix one issue at the expense of another. The face ID works well, but fingerprint ID is better, more secure and more flexible because you have to choose to put your finger on the button whereas faceID will just activate instead of asking “do you want to use faceID to approve this purchase?,” etc. All in all, if the 6s phone were still supported by all of the apps and web sites that I really need, I would switch back to it without hesitation. Apple’s decision to stop offering a “mini” size, stop offering fingerprint ID, and their failure to code in flexibility for audio volume(s) are hugely disappointing. All of those problems annoy on an almost hourly basis, and far outweigh the other gains they’ve made. Almost all of the issues (except size and the bulky camera covers sticking out into space) could be fixed via software, so there is hope. On the other hand, if you’ve already moved beyond the iphone 8 you’re already living with all of these issues, so might as well get a 16 if you’re in need of a new phone (I also read about glitching, problems with robustness and drops….I have seen none of these - it’s solid, just has lost what the 6s and 8 had).

detailedReviews 27: content: I came from the 13 Pro Max, and I can say the 16 pro max has nothing significant to add to that experience. I would say that what’s different is not something I needed/wanted, and it’s even inconvenient at times.
Let’s start with the cons:
For instance, the always-on display decreases battery life (which was top tier in my 13 pro max), so I don’t use it. No one really needs this.
The action button is nice, but I had to set it up to activate silent mode, as in my 13 pro max, given the limited options provided by apple. Though I find it useful when it’s activating my flashlight.
Then, the camera control is a mess. It’s difficult to maneuver, and I find myself opening my camera by accident more than ever, which is not good.
Finally, first time using the Dynamic Island: cool gimmick, not useful at all.
Now, some pros:
The screen is way brighter than my old 13 pro max, especially at direct sunlight.
The camera hardware is significantly better, and picture and video are top tier.
The phone built (titanium) is lighter in weight compared to my stainless steel 13 pro max, and I can feel it. Plus, the edges have been slightly rounded so the grip improved quite significantly.
I’m giving it a 2/5 because I cannot give a 2.5, and I feel 3 is not accurate.

detailedReviews 28: content: iPhone 16 pro max is a very powerful phone, the new side button is not as bad as some people have said it is. It has some interesting features and is quite useful when taking photos. The camera's quality is excellent for what i use it for. videos and pictures are sharper than ever.
The reason for the 3 stars:
The phone is still an incredibly fragile design which requires the owner to cover all the "beauty and expensive materials" with a case of their choice. As a carpenter the phone is not durable enough to handle real life. including dust/wood even large chunks get stuck in the ear speaker area.
Siri with GPT integration isnt nearly as helpful or comprehensive as i was expecting. Every 3/4 years I switch between android flagship devices and iphone. After owning this very premium device for about a month I would not recommend this device at this price point unless someone is really attached to the apple ecosystem of products aka really wants the blue bubbles in "messages"
I will likely be purchasing a business cell phone in the next month or two and that device will certainly not be an iPhone.

detailedReviews 29: content: Well I usually upgrade every year to the latest pro model and I’m coming from my iPhone 15 Pro. I tried the regular size pro model a few times in the years but definitely enjoy the “Max” size models more as most of my past pro model iPhones have been the “Max” size minus last year’s flagship pro phone and have to say the new 6.9 inch screen is stunning and elegant in every way. Not only is the screen a major benefit of the “Pro Max” model to be able to see and watch content better but also all of the “Max” models are known for the best battery life on the iPhone lineups each year because of their bigger battery inside helping it to last longer than the regular pro model and regular iPhone options. Brought this beautifully designed Apple iPhone 16 Pro Max in White Titanium on Black Friday and being a longtime Apple fan guy I’m always impressed and never disappointed with the Apple experiences of their products! Not sure what others on here are complaining about as far as bugs go cause I haven’t had any issues or problems with my device yet and most likely won’t but if any it’ll probably be minimal but there can be issues with any device regardless of the branded phone as technology can also have problems at times that’s just life where everything isn’t perfect. Definitely excited to see where Apple Intelligence goes with this phone and all of the other features such as the camera button with IOS 18 updates etc! Love me some Apple and gotta say I haven’t had the white/silver color option in years but I definitely think it’s their best color in the pro lineup this year for 2024!

detailedReviews 30: content: iPhone 16 pro max is a solid entry in the lineage of iPhone. It’s safe, it works well and it’s nice looking. That being said it’s a pretty boring update. iPhone has peeked around iPhone 13 so we aren’t going to get wowed much anymore. In fact apple is saying they may wait two years between models for certain products and this feels like the should. The camera control button although handy is really only useful for launching the camera, it feels a little half baked and not as useful as I had hoped I wouldn’t be surprised if they got rid of it at some point or completely overhauled it in a later model. Other than that it’s very minor in its charges compared to even the iPhone 13 Pro Max. I upgraded from the 14 pro max and feel like I got the same phone. I would have and probably should have waited another year. That being said I probably will hold on to this phone longer since I normally upgrade every 2 years. This didn’t feel worth upgrading but I did get a $1000 credit to the old phone so why not. Phone have peeked and this is the perfect example of apple playing it safe. It’s a nice phone in every way although the camera was probably the most lackluster aspect. I hope software updates improve it.

detailedReviews 31: content: TLDR:
Do not bother upgrading if you have a 13pro - 15pro. No major changes, camera button is useless, and AI features are absolutely useless and not even finished yet (There is also a glitch for ios 18.2, that causes you to lose your AI features, and apple doesn't even announce it when it's happening to a lot of people.) If you're going to upgrade, go to Samsung or Google. FULL REVIEW BELOW.
The phone is subpar. It has no new features worth the upgrade. The "Camera control button" is useless. There was no point to adding it, it works sometimes, but it's easier to just use the screen to take a picture like we have been doing for years. The battery is ok (nothing to write home about). Samsung and Google have a better-looking screen with a more consistent refresh rate. Only reason I upgraded from the 14pro was because I was under the impression from AT&T that I would've been saving more money per month than I actually am. Do not even get me started on the AI features that don't work and are still in "Beta mode". Or the glitches and bugs in ios 18.2 that cause you to lose your AI features. Just save your money and don't upgrade if you have a 13pro - 15pro, I promise you it's not worth it.

detailedReviews 32: content: Ive come from iPhone 14 Pro Max: although this new one is slightly larger it's a bit lighter so feels easier on the hands in use. It's all incremental upgrades nowadays isn't it but this is undoubtedly a fantastic phone: improved everything. It's expensive but worth it imho: this is your single most used item every single day for most of us so I feel justified in spending this amount of cash on it.
The camera button feels a bit gimmicky to me, but the new 'studio mics' and the audio modes might be useful to me, and I've also been mightily impressed with audio performance from the diddy speakers: I find it absolutely amazing how they've managed to make this phone sound so good from such teeny tiny speakers- I listen to a lot of podcasts and audiobooks, etc, and this phone makes a wonderful way to listen via the built in speakers. There's even a small amount of mid-bass present, especially if you bung it in a corner to boost those frequencies - excellent!
So, yeah, great phone: treat yourself if you're ready for an upgrade 👍👍👍
Good service from Johns Lewis too. 👍

detailedReviews 33: content: It’s a sleep device very cool with the upgrades which has improved over the years with all iPhone users dream of. The only con I have is that the battery life doesn’t last as long. I don’t use my phone all the time but I feel like once I have it set with 100% battery. I’ll charge it while the phone is off you know but then once I like check my phone or my calls or whatever my phone down my battery just drained. And make sure all the background apps are not running and all that stuff to like see how well that goes. Yeah I didn’t make a difference. I will save for the max pro users. I wish there was more color varieties, though. I feel like if we’re spending this much money we have more options, right? Another comment I do have is though they switched everything to a UBC you can’t use your headphones they don’t give you a port like they used to have to connect to other devices. If you want to that would be nice to have for the device, especially for the money we paid for the device so we’re able to still use the headphones from our other phones instead we have to pay out-of-pocket to get headphones to make them work.

detailedReviews 34: content: I recently upgraded to the iPhone 16 Pro, the tech equivalent of a Swiss Army knife dipped in moon dust. I was so excited to snag one with 1TB of storage—perfect for my endless photos of sunsets, memes, and that one recipe I’ll never actually make.
Fast forward to unboxing day, and I discover… it’s 128GB. Yes, 128GB—like I’m living in 2015 or something! At first, I panicked. How would I fit my entire life into such a modest space? Would I have to delete my collection of “Dogs Who Look Like They’re About to File Taxes” memes?
But surprisingly, I’m handling it well! It’s been an exercise in digital minimalism. Who knew I didn’t need 17 versions of the same blurry concert photo? Plus, the phone itself is so incredible—it’s fast, the camera is stunning, and the battery lasts longer than my patience on hold with customer service.
So while my “1TB dreams” may have been downsized, I’ve found clarity in chaos. It’s a reminder that sometimes less is more. (Except when it comes to pizza—never less pizza.)
Would I recommend the iPhone 16 Pro? Absolutely. Just double-check the storage before you hit “buy now!” 😊

detailedReviews 35: content: I'm an Apple fanboy having owned every iPhone since the release of the original. I don't do Android, so can't compare an iPhone to Android, but I can review this compared to every other iPhone that's been made. With the 15 I jumped from the Pro to the Pro Max. In my upgrade to the 16 I stuck with the Pro Max and am glad I did. I also jumped from the 256GB model to 512GB model. Even with clearing out over 500 photos from my collection, I didn't want to risk a storage capacity issue.
I'm very pleased with this phone. It's slightly larger and heavier than the 15 Pro Max. The battery capacity and glass screen are superior to the previous model. I'm still growing accustomed to the camera button and can't say I'd upgrade for that feature alone. I do enjoy being able to quickly click it to open the camera app, but do not use it to capture images nor to adjust the zoom.
The primary reason to upgrade from the 15 to the 16 was for the camera AI capabilities, which I'm pleased to report work as expected. Not only can I get the info right away from a picture, but the history of my query is logged in my ChatGPT account.
This is a solid phone and I'm pleased with the choice to upgrade.

detailedReviews 36: content: Upgraded from 14Pro. Definitely see the upgrade, not sure why everyone is complaining so much. Sure apple intelligence didn’t roll out at launch, but this battery life more than makes up for the wait. Apple Intelligence isn’t the most important thing for me. I just wanted my phone to last through the day, which the 14Pro was incapable of doing. I love the natural titanium color, the lightness in the hand, the action button, camera control is actually cool to me believe it or not. Its a different iPhone experience for me and I have only owned the iPhone 12 Pro Max and 14 Pro prior to this. So to me the phone was very much worth the upgrade. I would say if all you care about is Apple Inteligence maybe wait for the 17. But if you want a newer iPhone experience with the added camera control feature, all day battery life, and a phone that doesn’t overheat, then this may be the phone for you.

detailedReviews 37: content: I was a bit hesitant about switching from the iPhone 14 Pro to the iPhone 16 Pro. It was definitely past time, but I was not sure about how the transition would go and as always, I was concerned that I would lose some of my "stuff" and was leery about all of the work that would be needed to switch over. Well, I am glad to say that I was wrong about all of that! In short, it went so well, and the transition thoroughly exceeded my expectations. In short, everything went without a glitch and although I need to log in again on many of my apps, I had saved most of that information and that part even went well. I was truly amazed at the ease of the transition and was very thankful that I could do everything from the comfort of my home! I am currently enjoying the new phone and all that comes with it. I was even able to send in my old phone (which was made very easy by Verizon) and received the credit that I was promised. In short, this was a very positive experience, and I am impressed with how far things have come with these types of switchovers. Kudos to all involved!

detailedReviews 38: content: I've been using the iPhone 16 Pro Max for a few weeks now, and as always—it's a great piece of tech. The build quality is amazing, the screen is beautiful, and everything runs buttery smooth. I love the new features and overall experience, especially being deep into the Apple ecosystem.
That said, it sometimes feels like Apple is playing it a bit too safe lately. Other brands are pushing boundaries more aggressively, and while Apple nails the user experience, I can't help but feel like I'm mostly paying for iOS and that seamless integration with my other Apple stuff.
Still, I'm happy with it. If you're already in the Apple world, this phone just makes sense. It's not revolutionary, but it's definitely refined—and I still wouldn’t switch to anything else.

Otherwise, the software is the same. So far, Beta Apple Intelligence is the same old Siri that can’t even answer simple questions and will just show some search results. ChatGPT set a standard for AI assistants, Siri a little late to the party.
Oh there’s the action button. Not sure how useful it’s for now. Maybe it is for some people, maybe it’s serving a higher purpose that I can’t comprehend yet. I still use it to silence the phone.

detailedReviews 48: content: I returned the phone unused because I was scammed into buying what was allegedly a free iphone 16. Although it was delivered back, unopened, via UPS to AT&T 14 days ago, AT&T hasn't yet managed to scan it into its system as a return, which is why, I suppose I am being asked to write a review on it, and am still waiting for the taxes I paid on the phone up front to be taken off my bill. The thing is, I have the two phone numbers I was supposed to call to activate the phone (which I never did) and the number where the scam call came from, but AT&T isn't interested in having those. Why? Why wouldn't they would want to do what they can to shut down scammers? They did accept the return and shut down the additional line immediately though, so it could have been worse. The one star review is not a reflection of the phone. It seems very nice and I would have loved to own one, but I do not. It is simply a reflection of my experience since a rating was required to post the review/warning to others.

detailedReviews 49: content: I upgraded from an iPhone XR. Obviously when you trade for an old iPhone for a newer iPhone there are a lot of similarities between the two. The transition was seamless and this is a positive when upgrading.
The iPhone 16 Pro is similar to my old XR but there are small improvements and a little more speed everywhere you look. They took a good product in the XR and just made incremental upgrades all over. I like the way the time stays lit up when you aren't using the phone on the 16 Pro for instance. The camera is the biggest difference. There is NO comparison between the XR and the 16 Pro camera. Really a night and day difference.
Overall I am glad I upgraded due to the 16 Pro due to all of the upgrades.
Also, I was able to trade my old phone in and lower my bill AND get a new iPhone 16 Pro in the process. Thanks to the Verizon staff for showing me how to complete this upgrade.

detailedReviews 50: content: Excellent service from John Lewis click and collect service. Phone received in strong box in perfect condition. The camera, operating system and overall capabilities are excellent. The durability of the screen though is very disappointing as it is very easily scratched. I have treated this 'top of the range' iphone extremely carefully and put a protective leather case on from day one. Despite this, and the fact that it has never been dropped or mishandled in any way, the screen is already scratched. I have never known this to happen to any of my many previous iphones. My advice would be to attach a good quality screen protector immediately on purchase even if the buyer intends to keep it in a top quality case.

My phone crackels when I am listening to anything, my text messages routinely disappear, and the settings I save do not stay saved, and the phone freezes all the time. I have been on the phone with support, and to two genius bar appointments. The phone was even replaced to have the same issues occur again. At this point I am about to jump ship from Apple and go to Android. This is ridiculous! And the legendary Apple customer service, well that is a thing of the past as well. I have had two helpful people in this whole mess and everyone else has been ridiculous! Apple DO BETTER! For the amount we are paying for these phones, we deserve more than a paper weight, which is all this giant piece of crap is good for.

detailedReviews 52: content: The phone 16 pro is certainly an upgrade from my XE (2nd gen). The camera creates beautifully detailed photos. The new camera button on the outside allows for quick and easy access, but sometimes gets in the way or accidentally opens while simply holding the phone or attaching it to the dash mount. The upgraded Face ID makes opening the phone a breeze, which is helpful with the slightly larger screen size that makes typing one-handed somewhat difficult. I love the look of the phone and the color (desert titanium), as well as the magnetic charging and better battery life. I do miss the days of an instruction manual to aid in the learning of all the bells and whistles though. Overall, as someone who doesn’t always understand the technology but certainly enjoys it, I’m satisfied with much needed upgrade from my previous iPhone.

detailedReviews 53: content: I really dislike AT&T—mainly because their insurance is a scam. Their website clearly states that if you purchase their insurance, there's no charge for broken front or back glass. I paid for insurance on five lines for years. Then one of the phones was dropped, and suddenly AT&T claimed it wasn’t their insurance—it was actually through a third party, which required a $250 deductible.
I just lived with the damaged phone and canceled the insurance. Not long after, a second iPhone was dropped and the back glass shattered. This time, the break allowed moisture to seep in, ultimately destroying the phone and forcing me to buy a new one.
The only reason I’ve stayed with AT&T is because switching providers is such a hassle—but I plan to leave at the first opportunity.

detailedReviews 54: content: Honestly, the ugliest phone I’ve seen. They try to make it appear metallic online so you’ll buy it without seeing it in person, and they have none on display in store to be sure you can’t see how ugly they are. Then it finally arrives, and it looks and feels like a plastic toy cellphone. Because you opened the box (literally the ONLY way to see what these look like in person), Verizon will try to make you pay a $50 restocking fee… because you have good taste and don’t want to carry around your three-year-old’s candy dispensing cell phone that you spent $1500 on. Good grief. At least make it possible to see how disturbingly low-quality the product is before the purchase!
Can’t rate the performance because I was so disgusted when I opened the box and saw a plastic iPhone that I immediately jumped in the car to return it without even attempting to turn it on.

detailedReviews 55: content: I upgraded from the 15 Pro Max. I have to say, despite all the hate on this phone by reviewers, I really enjoy the phone. If you are a creator, then you will notice and enjoy the upgrades. Being able to mix the audio in the native video editing app is an amazing feature. The microphone quality for creating vertical content for YouTube Shorts and TikTok is absolutely amazing. The 120 FPS 4K is a very welcomed feature for slow motion. As a creator I also appreciate the 48 MP Wide Angle lens is a game changer! I’ve been waiting for this!
Now if you are not a creator, but a casual iPhone user and have a 13 - 15. You won’t be as amazed by this phone. I would wait for the 17 next year as it is supposed to be a more drastic redesign.

The battery is defective and even gives a warning that it’s an aftermarket battery—on a brand-new, full-price phone. It powers off several times a day even when fully charged.
I called customer service, and instead of sending a new replacement, they sent me a refurbished phone. Absolutely not. If I paid full price for a new phone, I expect a fully functioning new phone—not a secondhand fix.
To make things worse, your rep, Clint, repeatedly used the term buyer’s remorse—as if this mess is somehow my fault. It’s not. This isn’t regret; it’s a defective product from the start.

My sole irritation was re-authenticating all of my online accounts due to re-implementing facial recognition on the new phone. I guess the old phone and new phone see us differently.
I found AT&T Technical Support to be exceptionally competent. Whenever I called with a question they had the ready answer. That’s comforting when under stress.

What kind of mess is that?! Now I when I check the tracker it says "We're just about ready to ship your phone." Are you kidding me?
Please tell me why it would take yall a whole frickin month to ship a phone. Is it in an incubator right now? Is there a hen sitting on top of it keeping it warm until it hatches?

When comparing the 15 Pro Max and 16 Pro Max, there isn’t a significant difference in terms of design or user experience. Both models feel quite similar in daily use. However, the subtle improvements in performance and battery efficiency make the 16 Pro Max feel more refined.
I received the TDRA version, and everything works seamlessly. The overall build quality, speed, and camera performance are top-notch, as expected from Apple. While the differences might not be groundbreaking, the 16 Pro Max is still a solid upgrade for those who skipped the 15 series.

Although there is nothing technically wrong with the phone it frequently struggles to hold signal where the other phone didn’t have any issues, sometimes messages just won’t send, emails are out of sync and generally I feel it performs badly. The good thing is the battery lasts for ages, but this is probably because you can’t use the phone because it can’t get signal.
Give a choice and I would probably of stuck with my iPhone 11, and just had it repaired. Unfortunately, I’m now tied into a lengthy contract which makes that unviable.

There are incremental improvements in the hardware since the iPhone15 The 5x optical zoom camera is an example as is the new camera switch. IOS 18 also has new features. This phone, however, has been sold on as yet not entirely fulfilled promise- that of 'Apple Intelligence' ie private, secure in phone artificial intelligence which requires the computing power of the new chip to drive it ( also works on iPhone 15). I've started to erase unwanted people from photos. I've started to use the writing tools eg summarise, rewrite and find them useful but that is barely the start, according to Apple. detailedReviews 63: content: Practically the same as my iPhone 14pro functionally. But there are some nice new touches to the interface and the ability to mesh with all the updates that are built for it. After 3 days of owning the phone the glass on the front suffered multiple scratches from daily use, nothing crazy like dropping it or sliding across a driveway. Just being in my pocket was enough to put a 3/4” scratch in the screen. There is already a delay in the loading times for when the phone receives and alerts a notification audibly vs when it visually shows up on the screen. If it weren’t for battery going bad on my 14pro, I would’ve just kept it. This phone is yet another disappointment in the durability category from Apple.

On 2 of the 3 phones I had to call Verizon customer service (and go through all the prompts with their AI dude, ugh!). First one, George, was terrific. Spoke good English, and worked through activation to success. Second one, unknown name, no so great. She spoke broken English and after failed activation on 1st IEM, was ready to boot call off to someone when I suggested that "George" was previously successful with using the IEM2 number. Voila! detailedReviews 66: content: I'd like to give this a higher rating, as I am a longtime iPhone user. When you first get the phone, you just have to lay it next to your old phone for the transfer to be ready. Start up the new phone and the directions are pretty easy. You don't have to plug in to your computer like before. However, DO MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR OLD PHONE FIRST!!!
The transfer DOES put all you app icons back where they belong, transfer photos, etc. You have to manually hit the down arrow on almost all the apps though to get them to refresh.
I also had to go to AT&T store to get the phone number transferred over. Shouldn't have had to do that! It also lost all my documents in my scanner app.

When you compare the specs on this phone with something like a Google Pixel, the only things that stand out are the A18 Bionic Chip (Probably the same processor used in the Bionic man to give him super human strength??), the 12MP front camera... that still doesn't have 0.5x zoom, so taking selfies is still stupid, and the really high resolution of the Oled screen, which still doesn't have the same ppi as the Pixel.

It turned out to be the Japanese variant, which can be purchased at a lower price but comes with a notable limitation. In the Japanese version, the sound cannot be muted unless you insert a SIM card from a Japanese or Korean region.
It seems the seller might be relying on the assumption that buyers will insert their SIM card immediately, leaving them unaware of which version they’ve purchased. detailedReviews 78: content: Worth the money! I love how quick the chip is in this one (upgraded from an iPhone 12). I REALLY love the camera button! I was a little concerned on accidentally activating the camera button in daily use but with a case on it, you’ll be completely fine (especially if you’re hesitant like I was) if you fully press on the button it will activate it, lightly skimming your finger across it just resting your finger on the button won’t open the camera.
Phone does not overheat for me and you can turn off features that you don’t like / want. Photos app has changed but you can get used to it pretty quickly or you can search a tutorial to change it. Haven’t got the AI system as it’s not coming until Dec 2024 but I already like mine as is :)

detailedReviews 79: content: Not much to say really particularly if you have been a iPhone user all along. With the iPhone 16 Pro Max, you are without doubt getting the latest and greatest of all Apple phones at this point in time. Moving from a 13 Pro Max, I found the 16 Pro Max has improvements in a number of areas including the use of AI. The built in camera quality of course is again better still & thought the 13's battery life is no pushover, the 16 is even better! I guess the only drawback (& I mean a really minor one) is that the 16 Pro Max is a touch heavier (even with a titanium body) compared to the stainless steel one of the 13 Pro Max. I managed to get the 16 at a competitive price so no complaints on that front. Highly recommended!

detailedReviews 80: content: I typically upgrade my phone every couple of iterations, so going from the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the iPhone 16 Pro Max was my normal protocol and actually garnered a little excitement...particularly with looking forward to the Apple Intelligence feature provided with the new model.
On there flip side, still having little challenge transferring my saved iPhone photos back to my desktop...which for some reason when transferring data/pics from my old phone to the new...eliminated all of my saved desktop photos. Fortunately, most were stored in the new iPhone 16 Pro Max during the transfer, so not a lot lost there excepting the loss some treasured photos of the first few hours of my grand-daughter's coming into this world from the saved desktop album (she's 18 now). Thus the reason for the 4 out of 5 rating.
Overall, I'm happy with with the upgrade.

detailedReviews 81: content: After using the iPhone 16 Pro Max for a week, I started to notice extreme touch screen unresponsiveness and laggy performance when swiping the screen. A reboot or hard reset would temporarily resolve the issue, but this was only a temporary solution. After numerous software updates, the issue remained. Apple Support ran a diagnostic test and found nothing wrong; though something was clearly not right with my device! The only praise I have for this phone is the battery life was phenomenal.
I ended up going back to my trusty and far superior iPhone 15 Pro Max!

detailedReviews 82: content: I upgraded to the iPhone 15 Pro Max, but I'm disappointed. The only noticeable difference is the camera button, which I rarely use. Otherwise, it's indistinguishable from previous Pro Max models. While reliable, its AI capabilities haven't met expectations. Furthermore, I've experienced persistent keyboard lag, a problem absent in previous models. A software update was anticipated to resolve this, but it persists. Apple needs to improve to maintain its competitive edge.

Pre-order and expected to receive by JULY 19th. Didn’t check Shopee for few days. Balik keje tgok2 ada packaging outside. Terkezut brother phone dah dpt. Dpt on JUNE 19th instead. Sebulan awal. The phone is great without a doubt. The right variation and phone is protected by layers of bubble wrap. The packaging (brown) box by Thunder is… questionable. I think you can use smaller box, and more protective, secure packaging because, just look at the box in the picture. But for the phone, 5-stars. Seller service I deduct one star because of the packaging.

detailedReviews 84: content: This phone has potential, but Apple software is garbage.
There are too many swipe and chorded swipe “features” that ruin functionality. It constantly locks out Face ID because you’ve apparently tipped it twice. Unless you clone an old iPhone, the first two Home Screen pages are covered with garbageware.
IT NEEDS A COVER. Sure, it looks slick at first, but you’ll quickly realize it won’t sit flat due to the camera cluster that’s twice as big as earlier Pro Max phones. That limits your choice of Mag Chargers like mats and built-in car cradles (small ring ones are fine)

detailedReviews 85: content: Being a first time customer, this has been the worst experience I could ever have. I bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max with high hopes, but the one I received was the Japanese version, which didn’t allow me to disable the shutter sound in the camera. Having the shutter sound was incredibly annoying because even when I put my phone on silent, the camera still made a loud shutter sound. Not knowing this in advance, I had no choice but to return the phone. Now, they’ve rejected the return. As my first purchase, this has been a horrible experience with Noon, and now I’m stuck with a phone I paid 4500 AED for, with features I don’t like at all.

detailedReviews 86: content: I upgraded from iPhone 13 Mini to iPhone 16 pro and I have to say the following. First off, this is grade A apple quality and we all know and love. Fantastic device. Why do I give it two stars? This phone seems huge next to my 13 Mini and there’s no iPhone 16 Pro Mini. I’m tempted to buy a 13 as a backup. Second, Apple Intelligence? Where? When? Why? I turned this thing on and I can’t tell a difference between normal Siri and this. If you don’t want to make a collage of something ridiculous it get suggestions for grammar I don’t see its worth. I know this is the beta release but Apple made a big deal about it and it’s disappointing.

detailedReviews 87: content: My iPhone 16 pro max is a dud. Apple is exchanging it via apple care plus. 18.01 did not fix the slow terrible performance. This may be the worse iPhone since iPhone 4. Also, it has numerous call failures. Calls drop and pages don’t load. Instead of the ai that’s coming with 18.1. Apple should fix all the other issues that where no resolved in. 18.01. I have been relying on my android. It works a does not drop calls. The camera works and no issues. My 14 pro max battery was at 80. So after 2 years I went for the upgrade. So far is been a downgrade. Can’t recommend this phone until apple acknowledges its problems and fixes them.

detailedReviews 88: content: First of all I have to push on stuff like 3 times for it to work as in deleting or sending. The battery doesn’t last more than a day and a half. It came brand new already on 56 percent. The old phones back in the day you had to charge them for over 24 hours. You know you do this because you want people to keep buying new phones and not just batteries. Eventually I will get smart and drop your company. Rip off. You make sure it’s a new charger of course. And it doesn’t come with any of the stuff they used to come with, for example ear plugs etc. and I dropped that insurance I was wasting like 40 a month on. Nothing was ever covered.

detailedReviews 89: content: I opened the box and there was only a charging cord in the phone box, no base plug. Because Apple has changed the charging cords yet again, I didn’t have a base that would fit the new cord. Thus, I had a new expensive phone and no way to charge it. This is a problem with Apple, not Verizon though they weren’t particularly nice about it either.
Nor did they warn me that I wouldn’t have the charging base in my thousand dollar new phone.
I was annoyed to buy a phone at all; I could have just replaced the battery on my IPhone 11 but was told I’d have to wait 7 weeks to get a new battery from Apple. Money grubbing company.

detailedReviews 90: content: I would have given it five stars because it is a good phone and camera except for a battery problem.
I purchased this one week ago and when I activated it I got a message that the battery isn't recognized and if it is not an Apple battery, any problems caused by it will not be covered.
I started a chat with Apple and the person told me.."that's weird," and she never heard of such a problem. She told me to take it to an Apple Store or one of their Best Buy certified tech centers. I did the latter, drove 11 miles only to be told that if I wanted the batter replaced, it would take 2-5 hours. I can't be without my phone for that long and why would it take so long?
So I have booked an appointment with an Apple Store. We'll see.
