Initially, I was worried about the small padding on the headband, but after wearing them after a while, noticed that it is not a big deal at all because of how light they are. While there is some clamping force, I never noticed any discomfort because the memory foam and leatherette covers are super soft. I wore them for hours on end with no issues.These are Bluetooth 5.0 and connecting them was easy. I maintained a good connection while moving around my medium apartment with no problems. I did not experience any discernible lag when watching videos or playing games.I am very happy that I can control everything from ANC, calls, tracks, to volume, and even the voice assistant from the headset. There is absolutely no need to reach out for the phone.The battery life does not break any records but is good enough with up to 22 hours. I ended up charging them after a couple of days. It’s a good thing that the “Rapid Charge” feature allows for 10 minutes of charging to add 3 hours of playtime, or, if you happen to run out completely, use the included 3.5mm cord.The sound is typical Skullcandy, which is focused more on mainstream listening. However, I noticed that there were two different sound signatures when listening with ANC on or off. With ANC off, there is a heavy emphasis on bass, which is actually well presented, with deep impact and “thump”. The mids are a bit recessed, but still noticeable. The highs reached a good, clear level. I would describe the sound as fun and head-nodding. With ANC on, I was surprised how much the sound changed. The bass was brought down but still was punchy and powerful. The mids were pushed forward more, allowing vocals and rhythm instruments to shine. The highs were also increased, and while it created a bit of sibilance, never felt fatiguing. The sound is more open and “airy” with a greater soundstage. I like this effect since I can switch between thumpy deep bass when listening to hip-hop or rap, or activate ANC and enjoy live, vocal, and classical music much better.I am disappointed that the Hesh ANCs are not compatible with the Skullcandy app. While this adds to the simplicity, it would have been nice being able to change the sound EQ and it would have increased the value.The Noise Cancellation (ANC) is rather impressive at this price range. While not good as other premium headphones that cost more than twice, The Hesh ANCs are able to drown out most traffic and some noises like vacuuming. The “Ambient Mode” is welcome when the need to be aware of the environment is needed. I like that the ambient mode does not seem too fake when activated, and you can actually carry a conversation (although I think it’s rude to keep them on).The call quality is great. I never had any issues and was heard quite clearly -except under windy conditions. The mics pick up so much wind noise that it is almost impossible to hear and be heard, just so you know.In the end, this is a great entry-level ANC headset. While the build quality could have been better and there should be app support, the comfort, full controls, professional design, decent ANC/Ambient Mode, and surprising sound signature (both of them) make the Hesh ANCs a great purchase. I turned it back on, and all the ambient noise was instantly gone. I've no idea how this works, but it's pretty terrific. Whether dialogue or music, these are fantastic.ANC/CALL QUALITY: I then called a family member connected to Bluetooth, and they said that I sounded just like I normally do and had no idea that I was using the ANC function of the headset. I could hear him very well, no problems and no interference or tin-can sounds.COMFORT/ADJUSTABILITY: As far as comfort and adjust-ability goes, I'm very pleased. The ear pads are very soft and leave room for my ears inside. The top inner portion of the headphones feature an equally soft pad that helps to prevent the top of my head from getting sore. The band at the top is also quite adjustable, and the ear cups fit snugly without feeling tight.FOR EYEGLASS WEARERS: The only time I felt any slight discomfort was when I was wearing my glasses and could feel the eyeglass arms pressing against my head beneath the headphones. For what it's worth, I have the acrylic arms on my eyeglasses, rather than thinner metal bars.PORTS/INCLUDED ACCESSORIES: These headphones do have a port to be able to plug in the included headphone cable (aux), so one isn't obligated to only use these with Bluetooth. Of course, the charging cable is included (no brick) and it's an easy to use C type cable. There is a simple drawstring bag that one can use to carry or store the collapsed headphones in when not in use or traveling.CONCLUSION: Play life/battery time for these beats any I've ever had, and seems to be excellent thus far and living up to its price tag in every way. The sound is spectacular, the build quality and comfort are excellent, the ANC (talking on the phone) ability is unbelievably good, and the noise-canceling function is incredible. These headphones are a definite luxury item for me, and I can now understand why people go so nuts for higher end headphones. The padding on the cans is soft enough to not pinch, though after extended wear they do start to get a little warm.Pairing and connection with my computer was a painless affair and these were ready very quickly after they were powered on.The ANC function is far and away better than any other headphones I have worked with in this price range. They’re almost as aggressive as that of the Bose QC-15’s that I own, without that weird faux pressure sensation when the ANC is turned on. Even with the volume down low, these cancel out enough background noise to make them a serious contender. I have no complaints with the ANC.The sound quality is very good, though not quite to my tastes. The bass is very strong – much stronger than I like personally, but not out of line with what has been trending in the last decade. Where Skullcandy got it right, though, is in how well they’ve implemented the bass enhancement. Even though the bass is very strong (enough to give me a headache at higher volumes), it does not distort or turn into just low-frequency noise. More importantly, the bass enhancement does not stomp on the midrange which is the usual casualty. The midrange is warm and fairly balanced. The highs are bright and clear without being piercing. The end result is a sound profile that sounds full and rich. So many headphones with enhanced bass I have used have killed the midrange which makes music sound hollow, or distort the bass so much as to make music sound like a low-fidelity render. These are refreshing in that regard.Some headphones detect when you take them off and pause music or playback when you take them off. These do not.These come in a carry pouch that offers little in the way of drop and crush protection but it does keep them clean and free of scuffs and scratches. Also included is an audio cable for wired use as well as a USB Type C cable for charging.Overall, these are far and away better than the price would suggest. They are very comfortable to wear, they have a good sound profile (particularly if you like heavy bass) and the ANC function is better than average and competitive with much more expensive headphones. It takes some time to get used to with the sudden ear pressure feeling and if you are feeling nauseous at all, the noise cancelling triples the feeling. It might just be me though. Final issue is the color of the product. I had bought the white thinking the cushions looked like a Rose-Gold matte. I don't own anything Rose-Gold, but I thought it would look nice. The cushions, however, are a tan if anything and much darker too. The color part is just a personal issue though, so don't take it as a reason not to but it unless you *really* are looking for Rose-Gold colored Noise Cancelling and Ambient mode Headphones. Less

detailedReviews 10: content: I had a few tests for the sound and Noise cancelling features, and they surpassed Bose Quiet comfort and Sony WH-1000XM5. I was on board of a Boeing 737-800NG front row for five hours and a Turboprop Q-400 on row 8 next to the turboprop engines. The first one was absolutely fantastic sound...the music and the movie were clear with no airplane noise, only smooth voices in the back fro the captain or Flight attendants that kept me alert of something important. The second flight was my best and big surprise.. the turboprop engines went silent to allow me to watch some videos and to listen music at a great level... Now they are my companions for every travel

I've auditioned headphones at twice the price which sound only half as good. I almost feel guilty for buying them on sale. I would buy these headphones again at full price.

It works great and the sound quality is excellent. I'm not sure how the weight will be at the gym but didn't bother me at home. The only negative is the controls. I can't really distinguish them by touch. They are too close together and may need to be raised more. that will be annoying but not a real big deal. It is enough, though, get four stars rather than five.

These headphones sound nice, the quality is surprisingly clear and there is also some nice bass. The headphones are comfortable to wear for a while and can be readjusted if necessary. You can definitely feel they are a bit more cheap when it comes to material, but I would say they’re a good dupe for more expensive ones. The ANC is pretty decent, during a call it picked up my voice well filtered surrounding noise. The battery held up pretty well. Overall I do like these and recommend them. Especially if you don’t want to pay hundreds for headphones, these are a good option!

Light plastic and inexpensive foam ear cups are obvious. Again, in use, they are great on but when you have them in your hand you know you are holding inexpensive headphones.No App: No app means no EQ or sound customization of any kind. Again, these sound good out of the box but there are other options out there that give you this option.No Case: Just a felt bag. Not a deal breaker but I prefer a hard case to protect my headphones.Conclusion: So, these Hesh headphones from Skullcandy are generally great. They do what they set out to do; create a solid sounding budget headphone with good ANC. However, there are other competitors in this space that I believe to be doing budget ANC better. I own the Soundcore Q30's from Anker. They come with a great molded case, have equal quality ANC, sound just about as good, and have a great robust app that allows you to control and customize your headphones. Don't get me wrong, I like these a great deal. The comfort alone makes these worth looking at. I am recommending these budget friendly Skullcandy headphones but I am also recommending that you look at the competition first.I forgot to mention a couple of things that I probably won't use but it is worth knowing about. First, these have a built in Tile tracker. Download the app, sync them up, and these will emit a loud chirp to help you find them. Pretty cool addition. Secondly, these do come with an audio cable so you can use them wired. Not an unusual addition but nice to see it here. Well done. Less

Whatever happened to the "just put the darn things on and forget it" products? All of the controls of these Hesh ANC headphones are on the right side of the cup. You can pair, control the volume, skip/replay songs, turn the headphones off and on.When you turn on the headphones, pair, or turn the ANC on/off, you will hear a British female voice telling you such. I find the voice to be slightly too loud. Both the ANC and Ambient sound functions work really well. The sound on phones is a bit hollow.When you first listen to the headphones without break-in, they sound pretty awful. With ANC off, they sound bloated with heavy booming bass. With the ANC on, they sound more rounded but faint. Even with the volume turned up they sound like they’re turned down low. They don’t get very loud. I guess that’s actually a good thing since it prevents you from damaging your hearing. Unfortunately, after 10+ hours of break-in, they still have the same characteristics as without. Namely, a boominess with the ANC off and a more balanced and lower volume ANC on.Another annoying thing about the headphone is that you can’t use the headphones at all when charging as it will turn off. You can’t even use the 3.5mm to listen to anything when charging.The headphone, which uses a USB-C jack, comes with a cloth bag, a USB-A to USB-C cable for charging, and a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable. Less

I can't speak too much on their battery life because I only use them for watching videos or listening to music for short periods on my phone or tablet. I think I've only charged them once in the 6 months I've had them, which might be more of a testament to how intermittently I use them. I did at one point have them connected to my Xbox controller with the aux cord, and that drained the battery faster. I like that the do not slide around my neck like the ones that just have the thin cord. The base sound is not as good as the Method Sport that Skullcandy used to sell, but you can adjust your EQ in most music phone apps so that helps. The best thing that I have found with these earbuds that make them better then any other that I have ever owned, battery life is phenomenal. I use them for an average 6-8 hours per day and I charge them every 2-3 days.

ANC you can hear the noise that cancels the background but it isn’t too bad just noticeable and arguably better than distracting sounds. You can still hear louder sounds when below 50% but above that just be aware if walking car horns are barely loud enough to hear on 50% volumes. Overall great set to get. You HAVE TO BE GENTLE these are plastic. I’ve had Skullcandys before and they aren’t exactly durable if in backpacks or tight bags. I’d suggest a hard case for travel. The Hinges are better this generation but still the same plastic for $150 MSRP you’d think metal hinges would be considered.

But once the power is very low, a VERY loud voice says (and repeats) that the power is low - very annoying if you wear the headphones to fall asleep. You get woken up. So I am barely using them, super disappointed. The noise-cancelling is fine, but the low battery life and lack of knowing when it is low limit their usefulness.
