I have no idea how it does it, I thought that there just wasn’t anything I could do about the yanking and pulling when brushing my hair, that it was just something I’d have to always deal with; but this hairbrush showed me that that isn’t the case. Since it doesn’t tear through the tangles, I also have noticed a lot less of my hair being stuck and left in the brush, so it’s definitely way healthier and easier on your hair since it’s not just yanking it out and breaking it. Not to mention the bristles feel amazing on my scalp when I use it, it’s like a massage. My boyfriend even uses it because he can’t get over how great it feels on your head. It has always been a chore to do my hair -- a dreaded chore; and it's gotten worse as I've gotten older. The so-called gentle detangling brushes pull and rip out the snarls and tangles, even when dousing my hair with detangling spray. So much so, that I've noticed that my hair has gotten extremely thin on top.
If I don't have to go to work, or need to leave the house, I will wake up and use a lobster clip to hold my hair back, hoping that I don't see anyone and if I do, that they don't notice my hot mess of a hairdo. I have been doing this for about twenty years now.
The Tangle Teaser popped up when I was searching for detangling spray. I checked it out and then watched a video of a woman with hair worse than mine, brushing conditioner through her hair while in the shower. I was intrigued, but a little skeptical as well. I decided to order one and check it out for myself, figuring I'd return it if it was all hype and didn't work.
The first morning I used it I thought it was the most miraculous thing I've ever seen or used. Not only didn't it hurt, I didn't have a clump of hair the size of a fat mouse to throw away -- and my hair was detangled and styled so fast I thought it had to be some kinda fluke. I didn't need anywhere near the amount of detangling spray nor styling cream. My curls were so soft and pretty, I just couldn't stop looking at them and touching them.
The next morning, the same thing. My head was a rat's nest of bed head, tangles, and snarls and the Tangle Teaser was so quick and unbelievably gentle that I was absolutely stunned. No tears while trying to work out any of the various horrible things my hair does while I'm sleeping. It is truly a miracle.
I then used it in the shower to brush through my conditioner. Again, I didn't need anywhere near the amount of conditioner I normally use *and* I didn't have a fat mouse of hair to discard. The Tangle Teaser just glides through my hair so quickly and easily that it is just miraculous.
I absolutely love doing my hair now, and I do my hair on the weekends and on my days off now, because it's so quick and painless. I love the Tangle Teaser so much that I have purchased five more, one for my overnight case, one for my car for when I go to the salon (so the stylist can use it on my head rather than making me cry with one of their painful brushes), one for each of my sister and her two daughters (who have long hair and are tender headed), and I plan on getting a couple more for gifts for friends.
The Tangle Teaser is a game changer for me. My hair looks so much better and is so easy to do, that I keep brushing my hair in the morning because it feels so good. My curls look so very pretty now, with no frizz.
