items 3: content: I’ve been a huge fan of Logitech input devices for years now – I have had almost every version of the MX series of mice and am slowly working my way through MX series of keyboards. My desk prior to this mouse used the MX Master 3 mouse with the MX Mechanical Keys keyboard. The MX series of mice is well known for being a powerhouse mouse that frequents computer professionals’ desks everywhere. I’m happy to say that this mouse continues to fit that purpose nicely.
Starting with the mouse itself for those not aware, you get all that you expect from what is on the tin; left button, right button, scroll wheel/middle click, horizontal scroll wheel, and back/forward buttons for your browser. The mouse has a button under where your thumb sits on the side that can be used for multi-functional purposes (though in several years of owning one I’ve never found a compelling use for this button). The horizontal scroll is a bit stiff on this mouse, but it fits the purpose. Finally, the mouse charges using USB C – a neat feature a few years ago but somewhat expected today.
One of the cool features for those who have not used this brand of mice before; when you’re scrolling through long documents, the ‘MagSpeed’ scroll wheel has two options – one ‘clicky’ scroll that advances just like any other mouse wheel, then another ‘free scroll’ wheel that spins freely until friction stops it gradually seconds later. Logitech provides an automated way of switching between the two automatically; if you scroll fast enough with the clicky mode enabled, the free scroll mode will automatically enable. It’s really neat and makes for scrolling through long documents a breeze. If you find that you like one mode or another more, the button just below the middle scroll wheel lets you switch between the two on the fly (if configured that way).
What changed between the MX Master 3 and the MX Master 3S? The major change is the sound of the clicks. The Master 3 has audible clicks that people across the room can clearly hear as “productivity noises.” Not so with the 3S – it is nearly silent when clicking, almost like they’re using microswitches to do the click. Make no mistake, the click is still firm as ever, just quiet like a literal mouse (you know, the kind with whiskers).
For those of you with older MX Master mice who are wondering why you should upgrade, the scroll wheels are now entirely made of metal. The previous iterations of the MX Master series had a scroll wheel that had the same metal on the outside, but the ridges of the wheel were made of a rubber that quickly broke down and made for the day where you would ultimately need to rip out the rubber to have a clean mouse wheel. Now it’s solid throughout, making cleaning a breeze.
Why do I love this mouse so much? Ergonomically, it is perfect. It forces you to hold your hand in such a way that you will not become fatigued or begin to show the early symptoms of RSI (I’ve been using this mouse ‘body’ for almost ten years now and nothing to complain about in terms of wrist pain). The scroll wheel changing between modes automatically works perfectly with my software development job that lets me scroll through large files without thinking about it. The mouse itself is portable to three computers with a single button press on the bottom and means that I can switch between computers with ease.
For those of you who like to customize everything, Logitech (Logi?) has you covered. Installing the Logi Options+ software provides you with the ability to take (almost) any button on the mouse and make it do exactly what you want it to do. Want the middle click to be your “copy to clipboard” button? Done. Want to be able to press the bottom thumb button, move the mouse in a certain direction and have it open your Windows Start menu? Just as easily done. It’s a nice piece of software, but to be honest in all my years of using Logitech/Logi products, I’ve never found a use for it.
What would I change about this mouse? To be honest, nothing. It’s perfect out of the box and Logitech has made it such that you don’t need to worry about the future. This unit is labeled as “Bluetooth edition” which luckily means that they just didn’t include the Logi Bolt receiver. If you want to buy a Bolt adapter in the future, I can confirm that it works just as well as the “full” mouse. Truthfully, the only reason I bought the adapter was to make it portable across devices that plug into my docking station without using the button on the bottom of the mouse to switch between three computers.
If I was forced to change _something_ about this mouse, I would ask for _less_ rubberization. I acquired my Master 3 mouse in 2019. It’s done its job very well in that time, but the rubber near the thumb is starting to break down from wear and just age, making it slightly sticky and smooth (read: untextured) to the touch. Having this area reinforced as plastic might allow for longer usage – especially given that Logitech now releases replacement batteries to the community via iFixit.

title: Excellent ergonomics, customization, and multi-device functionality
type: REVIEWS
items 4: content: I’ve owned every version of the MX Master series mice since they have come out and I can’t rave enough about these mice. They have fantastic ergonomics, a boatload of functions, tons of customization, and they work with multiple devices.
The highlight probably for me is the sheer amount of functions that they’ve built in to this mouse. It starts with the scroll wheel which can be set to fast scroll where you can just flick the wheel and it keeps spinning, and scrolling, so you can scroll through long documents quickly. If you don’t want that fast scroll behavior, you can just press a button on the top of the mouse to switch it back to a more traditional feel where there’s a “notched” feeling while you scroll.
Going beyond that is an additional scroll wheel which you can use with your thumb and this provides horizontal scrolling. I find this indispensable as a video editor being able to scroll through my timeline and I also find it useful with spreadsheets.
It also has 3 more buttons that you can use with your thumb and you can customize these to be mapped to be forward and backward functions within a web browser and a host of other functions via the Logi Options desktop app.
Ergonomics is top notch where my hand rests naturally on the mouse and it’s hard for me to use other mice for extended periods of time without this form-fitting shape.
Another thing that I appreciate about the ergonomics is that the additional buttons and additional scroll wheel don’t get in the way of ergonomics - rather they compliment it and each additional function feels like a natural extension. It’s an extremely well-thought-out design.
I love that I can pair this to multiple devices where I can quickly switch between my desktop setup and my laptop by just simply clicking a selector on the bottom of the mouse. You can pair this with up to 3 different devices.
One thing to note is that this particular version has "quiet clicks" but the button feedback is still very positive and you still “feel” the click but you don’t necessarily hear it.
Another winner!

title: Fantastic ergonomics, customization, and multi-device support
type: REVIEWS
items 5: content: ## Bluetooth Edition
This particular variant of the popular Logi MX Master 3S mouse is the "Bluetooth edition". This simply means that no Logi Bolt dongle is included in the box (and, for some reason, no USB-C charging cable, either). Most laptops and tablets can support a Bluetooth mouse, so this is likely a non-issue for most people. Besides, with many laptops transitioning to only USB-C ports, it looks kind of silly to have a USB-C to USB-A adapter *and* Logi Bolt receiver hanging off the side of your sleek laptop.
Like the "regular" edition, there is a button on the bottom of the mouse that lets you alternate between 3 different Bluetooth pairings. For example, you can pair this laptop with your PC, your Mac, and your iPad without needing to unpair and re-pair when you switch devices. Simple tap the button on the bottom and an LED light cycles through 1, 2, and 3 to indicate which pairing is currently active.
## Design
The MS Master 3S mouse is one of the most comfortable mice I've used and I've been a fan of this model for years. My hand doesn't fatigue as easily as it does with typical mice and it can stay comfortable through the work day. My whole hand rests comfortably on the mouse and the buttons are easy to reach without any weird hand contortions. However, it's important to note that this mouse is designed for right-handed individuals only.
The two main buttons click comfortably and quietly, and the scroll wheel and be set to either freely spin for rapid scrolling, or use a traditional line-by-line "notched" scroll effect. There is also a horizontal scroll wheel near your thumb, as well as a "back" and "forward" buttons which works like clicking the "back" and "forward" buttons in your browser.
I've found that the mouse moves accurately on basically any surface. It even works great on my couch cushion!
## Settings
Logitech's Options+ software allows you to customize the buttons and settings, but the mouse can be used without needing to install anything. However, with the software, you can remap buttons to launch apps, change the configuration based on the application you're using, and use Logitech's Flow feature that allows you to move your mouse across multiple computers.
## Battery Life
The mouse can last up to 70 days on a single charge and is easily recharged with a standard USB-C cable. Unlike Apple's Magic Mouse, it can be charged and used at the same time.
## Summary
The Logi MX Master 3S Bluetooth Edition ditches the dongle but keeps everything that makes this mouse a productivity powerhouse. While it skips out on a USB-C charging cable (oddly enough), it supports easy switching between 3 paired devices. Ergonomics are great: even long workdays feel manageable thanks to its contour-hugging design. The scroll and click functions are quiet, smooth, and versatile, with a bonus horizontal wheel for added control.

*Pros:
-Super quiet operation.
-Awesome feedback from buttons and scroll wheels.
-The Gesture button is a cool and welcome addition.
-Highly customizable via the Logi Options+ app.
-Long battery life.
-Ergonomic win. Super comfortable.
-Can remember and connect up to 3 devices.
____
*Cons:
-None
I’ve been a long-time fan of Logitech mice and keyboards, and the company has engineered and refined another excellent mouse in the MX Master 3S Bluetooth Performance. Not only does it look cool, but the mouse also feels so snug and comfortable the moment you drop your hand on top of it. The area where the thumb rests on is especially soft, and the main body of the mouse below the left and right-click buttons are also coated with a soft and grippy coating for a secure in-hand feel.
All the buttons are within natural and easy reach, and the buttons operate quietly and precisely with just the right amount of feedback and feel. Both the vertical and horizontal scroll wheels turn smoothly and precisely, and neither of them feel sloppy nor abrupt – both give off a very satisfactory and precise wheel.
With seven buttons that can be pressed on plus the horizontal scroll wheel, there are many customization possibilities via the Logi Options+ app. Within the app, you can view the battery level, check for and update the firmware, back up device settings to the Cloud, fine-tune point and scroll speeds, and create custom button actions for numerous applications. The Gesture button is a new button for me, and I already love using it. Four custom Gesture actions are possible, and I’ve set one Gesture to launch the This PC folder in Windows 11, another to refresh a webpage, one to launch the Actions Ring, and the last one to perform a series of keyboard events like a macro.
Button customizations can be applied per app as well, and for the Chrome browser app, for instance, I left the default button actions alone except for the wheel button. I changed it so that when I press down on the wheel button, a keyboard shortcut action for CTRL+W takes place, which is the action for closing the active tab. And under the Global Settings tab, I set the press of the wheel button to perform a series of keyboard strokes that select the entire line of text then perform a copy text action. The number of customization options is staggering yet the Options+ makes it easy to search for and experiment around with different combinations without making the user feel lost or overwhelmed.
All of these amazing features and comfort would feel wasted if the mouse tracked poorly or the battery life was horrible, but fortunately, the MX Master 3S performs well in both categories – the tracking is accurate and consistent, and the battery life is long and robust. The mouse can be quickly recharged via a USB-C port located at the front of the mouse, so even if you have to plug a charging cable into it, you can still continue to use the mouse uninterrupted.
Another much appreciated quality of life improvement feature is the ability of the MX Master 3S to remember its connection up to 3 different devices. I’m currently taking advantage of this feature by using Slot 1 for my primary laptop at home and using Slot 2 for my work laptop. By not having to go through the pairing process over and over again every time I jump from one PC to another, much time is saved.
After about a week’s use, the MX Master 3S is the default mouse I reach for. My previous favorite mouse was the Logitech MX Anywhere 3, but the Master 3S has it completely beat thanks to its extra buttons (Gesture, horizontal scroll), softer and more ergonomic feel, and more customization options. The Master 3S is definitely worth the coin and an excellent buy. 5 Stars.

items 7: content: As someone who uses a mouse professionally, this is the "Rolls Royce" of mice. I also notice that many other pro's are using it when I look at video tutorials online. I mainly work in 3D modelling that requires a lot of accurate mouse work. One of those key features is the scroll wheel for zooming in and out. The wheel on this is stainless steel so it has some mass, so it can be flicked and it will keep spinning, but there is a switch to make it click if desired. It's wireless so not tethered but when it needs charging, the usb c cord will plug in the front so you can continue to use it like a regualr mouse. It has many buttons all of which can be re-configured, so I have the "back" button switched to work like a middle mouse button, this means my thumb is doing all that work and not my forefinger, so its way less strain on that finger, and the ledge that your thumb sits on is nice too. The horizontal scroll wheel is handy. Ergonomically great. I bought this one as a gift as I've had the same one myself for a long time, you wont be disappointed.

items 8: content: I LOVE this mouse. The clicks are soft but satisfying, the ergonmic is perfect for my larger hands(small hands would fit fine as well). The horizontal wheel scroll is a game changer. It saves so much time in excel moving back and forth. No accidental clicks on cells or moving the mouse around to scroll left and right. The logitech software was approved on my work computer so i was able to do custom button setups and other customizarion through the Logi software. The unlocked scrollwheel is very smooth as well. Its different than a razer or their gaming 502 scroll where, and it feels so much better. This has weight to it, which makes scrolling so satisfying and accurate. Initially i did not want to spend $80+ dolllars on a work mouse, but i realized the amount of hours I use it, and if it helps me get work done faster, then its totally worth it!

items 9: content: This is an excellent product! When I was in the US Air Force my Pararescue helicopter was shot down resulting in me sustaining many injuries. 1 injury caused reduced mobility & alot of pain to my right wrist, hand & fingers.
Due to my mobility limitations of my wrist, hand & fingers I have tried many different computer mice providing none or minimal dexterity and pain improvements.
This Logitech mouse relieves a lot of that pain & helps my dexterity which normally would be awesome enough!
However, I have to mention that this Logitech mouse, helps my wrist, hand & fingers with physical therapy just by how its design positions my hand & fingers when using it. My pain not only is reduced for a longer period of time after use but my improved dexterity lasts longer as well after using this Logitech mouse. I recommend this specific Logitech mouse 100%!!

Smooth and responsive on my Mac Mini, MacBook Air and Windows laptop, and I love the option for multiple devices (up to 3) via bluetooth. Simply flip it over and tap the button. Super convenient since I have multiple computers connected to the same monitor and keyboard setup as well.
The side thumb roller wheel is great for panning large Excel files or CAD drawings. Top roller wheel smooth as well. Great battery life, and easy to connect to a charge cord and still use like an "old-time" wired mouse.
Definitely recommend!

items 11: content: This has 7 buttons and 2 scrollwheels, all programmable !
The horizontal scrollwheel works like magic and can be used for different actions in different apps.
This one has an electromagnetic centre scroll wheel which is just insanely fast and butter smooth ! Best out there definitely.
Also all the navigation gestures can be mapped to the thumb button and you have all the magic mouse functionality right there.
The ease with which you can map the different buttons on this one using the Logic Options software (fully compatible with MacOS) is just great ! You can make it your very personal workhorse with the mapping you want on the side buttons, scroll click, thumb click and it's gestures.
Even without all these button functionalities, this is a high (8k) dpi mouse which feels precise with reduced sensitivity (my personal preference).
Another important point : the battery life is superb, I have used this for about a month now after having fully charged it and I am sitting at close to 80% battery.
The sound of the clicks is unlike many other mice and it's really quite and feels very satisfying.
The shape of the mouse is really good and ergonomic and working with it feels nice to the hand.
It can swap between 3 connected devices, using a button on the bottom, is a great addition too.
All in all, it's a no brainier, if you want a great mouse, just get this one. No other mouse comes even close !

It’s insanely customizable—every button can be mapped to specific tasks, and you can set up different profiles for different apps. Photoshop, Excel, Chrome… it adapts to whatever you’re doing. The thumb wheel is a dream for horizontal scrolling, and the whole thing just feels premium. Quiet clicks, smooth tracking (even on glass), and a shape that fits your hand like it was made for it. Yeah, it’s a bit pricey. But once you’ve used it, you’ll wonder how you ever worked without it. It’s not just a mouse—it’s a workflow upgrade

items 13: content: I've had the original MX Master and used it pretty much daily for work for something like 8 years. Unfortunately, last week the optical sensor gave out, and so I replaced my dead MX with the current MX Master 3s.
Pros:
* Retains the very comfortable shape
* Very precise
* Quality feel
* Improved placement of side buttons (over the MX) - I'm now using these more
* Software is good with profiles for different apps (very handy for volume control, mute, etc. in Teams)
Cons:
* The dongle does not appear to be a 'Unifying' dongle and so cannot connect to both the MX Master 3s and my aging T650 trackpad (not that I use it much). This means two dongles required (to use both peripherals) and the use of an extra USB port - keep this in mind if you have older Logitech peripherals you want to use with the MX Master 3s.
Notes
* I like the new 'quiet-click' mouse buttons but might not be to all tastes - suggest you try it out before committing.
* The flow software looks interesting (move mouse over the edge of one PCs screen and have it appear on a different PC) but this requires the Options+ software on both PCs and I'm having issues installing/running on my second PC (Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10), though I haven't spent a lot of time trying to resolve this yet.
Update
Got the Flow software working - really handy if you have two (or more) PCs / Laptops on your desk.

items 14: content: This is not my first rodeo with the MX Master series. I had the first generation and loved it to its death, but never replaced it due to moving to a trackpad. After a decade, I decided it was time to go back to a mouse when I bought the matching Logitech keyboard. I can say going back to a mouse is going to be an adjustment, but this one is basically starting at the top. Love the functionality, the smoothness of the scroll wheel and the ergonomics of the whole thing.
My only word of caution is that I'm a pretty big guy and it fits my hand well, but if I had smaller hands, I might find this mouse to be a bit large and index finger to fall too far back on the primary button. So do test it out in store before you buy it. If it fits you, it's really the best mouse on the market.

title: Best conventional mouse for productivity and design work
type: REVIEWS
items 15: content: If you are a creative, I believe the only reason not to get this mouse is if you prefer a trackball. This has been my favorite conventional mouse for both 2D and 3D design work.
I have owned every version of the MX Master since it was introduced, and there are several improvements in this version I really enjoy. One is the doubled resolution (from 400 to 800 dpi). The reduced sound of clicks is also nice.
Scroll Wheel
One of my favorite features is the weighted wheel that lets you switch between incremental or free-spinning scrolling. You can also set it to a hybrid mode which switches from incremental to free when you give the wheel a harder spin. The threshold for this switch can also be adjusted in the Logitech software.
Gesture Buttons
Controlling media, windows, and other things becomes very intuitive and quick with gestures.
Horizontal Scroll Wheel
The ability to scroll horizontally independent of the vertical scroll wheel makes 3D navigation more enjoyable. It also makes a huge difference when editing video and audio.
Ergonomics
I prefer the ergonomics of the MX Master over any other conventional mouse I’ve used.
Battery Life
This mouse lasts a lot longer than you would expect it to and also works while charging.
Conclusion
Logitech made a solid improvement on a mouse that was already the best (conventional) option for creative workflows.
