The built-in speakers are very loud and super clear, not muddy at all. The AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and Radeon GPU have enough power for gaming most modern games. They also provide high data transfer speeds to back up my phone or make backups to an external hard drive. The 1TB SSD is super fast and spacious. So far, the battery keeps up with my needs, allowing for gaming and web browsing for around 7 hours. My last Dell laptop is still going strong at 8 years old and is now going to my kiddo. Less

I didn't want to spend anymore than 500 for it though. Looking around, a lot of other laptops would put me at that pricepoint or higher. When I found this model, I found that it fit and was well within my price range. It actually has a 1 terabyte SSD, so even better than I was shopping for at base. After receiving the laptop, which was pretty prompt, I skipped installing Windows and instead opted for a Linux Mint Debian Edition install. If you want a good productivity laptop for cheap, this is for you. If you're a hardcore gamer: I'd buy something with a dedicated GPU. It's definitely worth the 400 I paid, and maybe more. Less

I think novice users should splurge for this upgrade since sometime in the future they may encounter a need for it, and the extra performance boost doesn't hurt in day-to-day use. Just recent started streaming from my ps5 & needed to have a way to get the stream to other platforms, this laptop has the capability of handling it with ease, the picture is clear, the battery life is better then expected compared to what I have had in the past. After doing some looking at the big box stores on line I picked out 3 or 4 that I thought were good possibilities. Buying from Dell was simple, fast, efficient and extremely satisfying. Great buy in my opinion...

detailedReviews 12: content: My husband and son-in-law conspired to give me an Inspiron 15 3511 for Christmas. My old laptop was on its last legs, and I really need and use a laptop every day. I am my church's volunteer treasurer and I am acting secretary for the leadership team. That means I need to be able to crunch numbers, prepare reports, monitor finances, prepare minutes and agendas and so much more every single week. Worrying about whether my laptop will survive is not something I wanted to endure for much longer. I was constantly worried about it taking 20 minutes to bring up the internet! I am so grateful for this gift. It works so quickly, and setup was painless. I can continue to do the jobs I need to do, which is the best part of it.

detailedReviews 14: content: I wanted a new laptop to replace an older one, used mainly for email, browsing, and reading/writing documents. This Inspiron was the perfect match. Price was terrific. The SSD is large enough for all my needs and I have an external 500GB drive for backups and storage. It runs Win 11 (not S mode) so I can install a couple of programs I like that aren't in the Windows store. The graphics processor is a big step up from my older device. It has a proper numeric pad, too. And Dell got it to me a couple of days earlier than I expected. Setup was easy and the system is very fast. My only minor quibble is that the arrow keys ae in different places than I'm used to, but I'll adjust.

detailedReviews 15: content: Bought this as the first laptop for our college freshman and it works perfectly so far. Good speed, meets (and likely exceeds) all the minimum requirements for a laptop when considering RAM, storage, processor, and definitely provides what he needs as a new computer engineering major. No need to purchase a high prized machine as typically advertised for an engineering program, so to start out with this is perfect! Display is great and has perfect size for the programs and assignments he needs to work on. Lightweight and portability were also important and it meets those aspects too. At this point definitely happy with this purchase!!

detailedReviews 16: content: I bought a new Inspiron because the old one no longer booted. I was afraid that most of my data was going to be either expensive or impossible to retrieve. Also past experience with new machines suggested that I would once again be devoting days to setting up a new device. BUT NO. I was up and running in less than two hours (!!!) and the Inspiron also reached up into the cloud and found all - or at least most - of my data. ( I know, mostly software, not hardware. ) Hardware observations: This machine feels faster than its predecessor although I have no way to run objective tests, and my wife and I agree that the screen image seems brighter and sharper. All in all, I, and we, are happy.

Temperatures can go pretty high too by the way, and your fans even may go crazy at times for no reason, so I recommend setting your maximizing CPU usage to 99% at least or at 90% if you only use it for browsing and light usage. Display is a bit on the meh, in terms of colour, but not much of a difference. You can just calibrate it using AMD Adrenaline service or something else. Also pretty cool to hear that you can add another GPU if you want, instead of using the Vega 8 iGPU, being the Nvidia MX550, however I have been unable to find the produce online, so may have to talk to Dell for that one. Anyways, really good in terms of how smooth it is. Trackpad is also really smooth and easy to use and not very heavy, not too light with thin outer screen edges, making it looks really clean. Less

The fan running full speed might not have anything to do with the cheap USB to VGA adapter, might be because the computer is so thin, cramming all the electronics into such a compact area. I guess that's the point, the computer is so super thin and light for this price point. I went from a 12-year-old computer with an AMD A8-3520M to this AMD Ryzen 7 5700U. Less

It came with Ubuntu 20.04 lts. I also had qualms about setting it up when it arrived due to the conflict with open source and proprietary drivers, and with what help and advice I would receive as I started to explore the computer and make the usual mistakes and errors in the procedures. I have used Ubuntu for about 10 years, but tended to install it myself on older Windows computers which were past their best and where Microsoft or the manufacturers no longer supplied updated drivers or security updates. I needn't have worried, the set up was fairly simple, the instructions easy to follow and I made sure that I put the Dell Ubuntu back up on to a flash drive when it told me to do so...better to be safe than sorry. The installation and set up went a treat. I was quite surprised with the speed of the setting up of the computer and with the booting up process, with the 8gig ram and the use of an SSD instead of the usual hard drive. It booted up in a few seconds, instead of the 30 seconds to a minute I have experienced with my other laptops. I needn't have worried, after doing a bit of checking out, I see that there has been close collaboration between Dell and Ubuntu, as only open source drivers were installed (though other proprietary drivers were available), so it was nice to have the choice. I have had a couple of crashes, due to my own fault in experimenting and again, I was surprised that the recovery was pretty straight forward and simple and clear instructions given...and I didn't have to use the recovery flash drive to do so. I also managed to install and set up Mint after I installed virtualbox, though I did have some learning to do. After allowing for update of the latest LTS from Ubuntu, 22.04 by changing the updater to anytime from never, I was able to upgrade without a hitch in a very short time. I have no problem recommending this computer to both linux users and windows users, and, if you are not after something really fancy, this laptop should cover all of your usual home needs. Not being a "gamer" I can't speak for how good it would be for that. Less

These choices make it an all rounder when it comes to multiple purposes tasks at home e.g. watching a film through the HDMI or transferring files between external hard drives. I opted for a balance between cores and RAM, as recommended for a smooth running system, and so went with the AMD Ryzen 5 3450U processor and 8GB of memory. After a week, the laptop has consistenly been running well for the day to day tasks I need it for and a small amount of low-spec gaming at the weekend. Storage options are generous but I decided on a 512GB SSD, which after system storage left me with 456GB of free space (Ample for my use). In my opinion, the quality of this laptop is excellent and comes as no surprise considering Dell's reputation. Obviously the occasional troubleshooting issue occurs, which is a fact that comes with any manufacturer of tech, but a simple system restart or closure and reopening of a program tends to solve the problem. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would recommend this laptop + my configuration to anyone who is looking for a general purpose, home laptop. (I should mention that at the time of purchasing this product was discounted, due to being in a flash sale. So at the time it was reduced generously and therefore made it a better deal than other, more powerful options.) Less

detailedReviews 29: content: Nice laptop; very very light weight. I'm not 100% sold on the longevity of the device due to how light it weighs. Obviously not a lot of structural strength in something this weight. Performance so far is GREAT!! The Ryzen processor is smoking fast and the graphics capabilities are fairly nice. I'm not a gamer; just casual web user; but for that purpose the graphics are very sharp and colors have nice depth. The size of the viewing area is exceptional, the keys are soft touch and responsive, the audio quality is nice and plenty loud on its own without external speakers. Battery life so far is not exactly staggering; but sufficient, and the AC charger included is light weight and easy to transport.

Doing so creates a hardware ambiguity (is the touchpad for moving the mouse cursor? for clicking? for what?), and IMPOSES YOUR CHOICE ON THE USER (ZERO POINTS for UX on that one - BAD! BAD! BAD! BAD! HORRIBLE!). Correct UX is to INCREASE user choice, thereby allowing them to select THEIR preferences, not mandating that they follow what you decide for them. Suggest having the head of your UX team taken out and shot. 2) MS Office was included with the purchase of the laptop, and while the software was installed, the license was NOT ACTIVATED, nor were the instructions for doing so clearly available. Upon contacting MS, they'd never heard of me, and offered to allow me to purchase the license AGAIN (for software I'd already paid for?). Again, BAD UX!!! For any software which comes installed, but with an inactive license, either provide instructions for activation as part of the setup, or else SEND THE USER AN EMAIL which makes clear the process necessary for doing so (note: if you think you've already got a process in place for doing this, here's one user who that process missed, so at the very least, you need to review and revise so that no user slips through the cracks). The first one did not have an SSD and I could compare its speed with the newer ones with the SSD. My first two machines both developed a problem with the keys which prompted their replacement. It was very difficult to type because sometimes the key would not respond and skip the letter, requiring me to closely edit all text. When the Dells are new, I really like them. I would like to see a higher quality, longer lasting keyboard installed on the Dell 15's. Other than that, I really like them. I hope my newest one will last longer. We'll see.

Ideal as an 'office' Windows 11 machine or light to medium home use (Office applications, email, Internet etc.), the ergonomics are all there: keyboard feels good to type on, and the screen is bright and pinpoint sharp although "only" HD. The up and down arrow keys are too small, though. It always feels snappy in use, though I have to say that I have not used it extensively or heavily at present. This AMD model comes with two type-A USB ports (the older rectangular ones) for your plug-in keyboard and mouse, if you use them, plus memory sticks; and one USB-C port for more recent peripherals. That is good provision these days, with so many laptops leaving you with no ports free to pop a memory stick in once you have connected your mouse. On the downside, however, there is no Ethernet port for the network, leaving you reliant solely on Wi-Fi - the thing that tends to go first on any laptop. It would also leave you needing another computer if you wanted to log into your router to change the Wi-Fi settings. Have a USB-C to Ethernet adapter to hand! All in all, a recommendation. I am pretty happy with this purchase. Less

I use this in teaching small groups and they can hear even when they can't quite see the screen, so I am thrilled--even had to adjust the volume down. Keyboard is a bit different, but spill resistant. Could choose to add a second language keyboard, which is so helpful since I work in English and Spanish. Light enough to be portable but feels durable. I did have to buy the optical drive separately, but Dell makes a great one with the software to integrate included.

I can stream a movie at about 13% battery life per hour. The battery charges reasonable fast with a 41wh batt and a 65w power brick. The touchpad is finicky. I use this with Geforce Now and on occasion I use WASD to move and the touchpad to move camera. When I do this at the same time, the touchpad does not respond right away. I paid $500 for the AMD 5700U APU 16GB 1TB version. It gets the job done and is inexpensive.

My deduction of a star is due to the operating software being Windows 11 Home and my unhappiness with Microsoft. I needed to take it out of the S mode to install my older Office software and several other essential programs for my operations. Microsoft has quite a racket going forcing individuals that are not computer savvy to subscribe to Microsoft 365 for a fee or purchase Office 21. I am acting under the assumption that Dell can't install a different operating system to avoid this, so I am not casting the blame on Dell. Microsoft can "wish upon a star" before I purchase their subscription.

Make a list of "what's changed". I recognize that some of my issues are with MS, but since Dell is connected at the hip, perhaps some influence would be in order. Less

The AMD Ryzen 5 5625U works quite well as a CPU with integrated graphics. For instance, I bought this laptop for my youngest daughter to gain experience with using Windows 11 OS and play a few games. This laptop combination with the mentioned processor should be capable of playing, although not limited to, Minecraft, Fortnite, and Rocket League. Now, I am not suggesting that it will produce the same frame rates as some of the more expensive Dell laptops designed for gaming, but for my daughter's purposes, it should serve just fine. detailedReviews 44: content: In most respects this is an outstanding value. Fast Ryzen 7 CPU, plenty of RAM with 16GB, lots of storage at 1TB. Large 15.6" screen. BUT: (1) it can support only 1 external monitor, and the USB 3.2 Type C port does not support most docking stations that can support multiple monitors. And (2) getting the information needed on the Dell website was nearly impossible to track down. Fortunately, if you purchase a docking station that supports the DisplayLink technology, you can extend to multiple monitors.

detailedReviews 45: content: The laptop looked new and switched on fine but when the audio from youtube was played, there was a lot of distortion noise which disappointed us . This is our second laptop of the same kind since we liked the first one which we have been using for a year and half .Unfortunately the monitor got dislocated while opening and so we had to order a new one. we never had any complaints on our old laptop. And so this noise upset us and we decided to return .Upon raising a complaint there was an update sent and once the update was run the system worked fine. We gained our confidence back. Thank you for addressing the issue and made us feel our decision was right.

I purchased a usb cooling pad for a price of Rs.600/- and placed the laptop on it. The cooling pad has a blue lead indicator and two fans which shut down as the computer shuting down. I am using external usb keyboards and mouse .The cooling pad provides the usb ports for this. Anyway purchasing and keeping an extra motherboard for the laptop will be good as after a few years the motherboard and processor for the laptop may not be available. It is sure that the laptop will show performance issues after few months or years. I shut down the laptop whenever I stop work on it. Also I remove the power plugs from the supply as there are lighting and thunder before rains. The 250GB ssd is not enough for the programming purpose. It should be at least 500GB. Less

I am getting used to it,but I must admit that it still doesn't feel as good as my last Dell did. It is hard to describe but it feels rough, even when it's smooth; even the keys have a less warm feeling than my last Dell. Also, my last Dell had a C drive and a D drive that were separated and caused me all sorts of issues. I am glad this Dell does not have partitioned hard drives too. All good, I will get used to it, and I got a good price, so I am happy.

detailedReviews 61: content: Good, fast and not too expensive. The keyboard is good to type on, though I wish they would not have made the trackpad so large compared to others. I don't use the trackpad often and prefer a trackball for my work, but when I do use this one, it is responsive. I do like that you can (on this laptop anyway) trigger the trackpad to be 'off' automatically when you use another pointing device and then 'on', if one is not connected. This saves me the task of turning it 'on' and 'off' manually through an app or device manager. The screen is a good size and easy to read, and the laptop is thin and light weight. It also has some simple upgrade options for more storage 'drives'. Overall it's worth the extra money over a budget model, even for word processing and Internet work.

It is a 5 min job! Screen is FHD with brightness and color accuracy on par for the price range. In general, it is a great buy (when it's on sales) for general purpose or as a second/backup laptop. I have bought numerous business and gaming laptops over years, and value-wise this particular Inspiron model still surpasses my expectation. The only significant con that I can think of is the absence of an USB C port.

Some is definitely not wanted, I have little or no idea what the benefits of the rest are, and have to suffer a vast number of really annoying popups from it. I'd much rather have a computer with just an operating system, without the preinstalled software, but instead have a web-based list of suggested software, with its purpose and benefits explained and links to sources. It's very tempting to delete everything and install Linux from scratch. (The computer that it replaced was bought secondhand, and to which I did exactly this.)

I looked at many other laptops thought might aswell bet my money on Dell because consistant support was neccesary aswell aswell parts. Suprisingly came in a bigger box. The Full HD WVA 15.6 has unique colour profile plus amazing def wider screen the better and thin bezel. Lightweight ergonomic to stow in a backpack. The default keypad nice soft clicks and taps ergonomic I would say 'efficient material'. It's what a laptop should be and suitable for it's use. One of the best purchases I made.

detailedReviews 66: content: My first impressions out of the box for this laptop were quite positive. Using it I've had no issues, the keyboard layout and track pad are very spacious, and the size/ weight are portable enough without feeling too bulky or heavy. My main use for the laptop has been to find something that I could upgrade. The laptop's components which are upgradable (ram, storage, network card) are easy to get to. The documentation is easy to follow through with, and so far I'm happy with the results.

detailedReviews 67: content: It lives up to the hype. I got the 8gb i5 256gb ssd version. I've had no problems so far. If you want a faster version of this laptop pls go for the ssd hard drive and not HD drive. I read reviews about the overheating before purchasing and yes it did overheat initially. However after updating my bios and other drivers it has been running cool ever since. Also make sure to always use a hard surface, placing this laptop on a bed or rug surface will definitely make it overheat since the vents are placed under and infront of the screen. Always leave the screen at a 115 to 120 angle to allow space for the vent. Leaving the laptop screen at exactly 90 degrees will make it overheat because the screen is blocking the vent.

After doing some looking at the big box stores on line I picked out 3 or 4 that I thought were good possibilities. Setup is very easy and the fingerprint recognition is nice, it would have been better if all users could set their fingerprint as access, rather than just one. I like the numerical keypad next to the regular keyboard. What I didn't realise was that the USB-C port does not allow for multiple screen setup or charging. The docking station allows the use of keyboard and mouse though, at least there's that. The charger connector is also different from my Dell Latitude, which is annoying as the voltages are the same - you should expect to be able to use the same chargers, right?

detailedReviews 72: content: I am enjoying my new laptop, it's fast and easy to use. Only complaint is that Windows 11 is absolute garbage and I want to revert it back to Windows 10 but I'm afraid of what that might do to the laptop. Also it sometimes lags when I play minecraft but that's not a big deal, especially since my old laptop was almost 8 years old and ran at a steady 10 fps with lowest graphics settings. If I don't use vsync I get an easy 400 frames with mid-tier graphics settings, but I keep it at 120 fps just to help it run. Also very, very, VERY happy that it comes with Office because I use it constantly for school and personal hobbies. Hate having to pay for it because I'm poor and have a minimum wage job. Good computer, even for my small fingers that don't type very fast.

Once working they are great machines but the QC prior to delivery is clearly not up to scratch. Trying to get to the correct support service option to get a resolution is not always easy, but once you get through the support is fast and efficient. U just bought it as was and didn't pay any extra for improved frames or graphics. I can play games at top spec but find that the fans get really loud so I just play at mid spec and the fans go quiet again. To be fair it is a mid level laptop so I expected that. What I love about this laptop is the speed from when I open it to playing a game. It's lightning fast. I did notice that if you accidentally press the F1 key and over clock then eventually the laptop overheats the fans go crazy and it won't accept a charge for a while. But that's a user fault.

Maybe I should have gone for the 16GB RAM, if that would have made a difference, but as it is, with 8GB, it feels sluggish and is slow to start. It's early days, though, so it may just take a while to get used to. A couple of times, I've noticed, it doesn't even seem to start. I open it up, press the button, but nothing happens, the screen stays blank. I have no idea what's going on. No documentation came with it, which is odd, but it's been a while since I bought a laptop (my previous, also a Dell, lasted about 5 years) so maybe that's how it's done.

"Hi Ivana, Thank you for your response to my review. You have provided me with a link suggesting I completely dismantle and put back together the laptop (though the link only shows taking it all to pieces and isn't even my model of laptop) myself to resolve the issue and that I replace my BIOS. Both things which if attempted by myself (just a normal person with average IT understanding) would be more likely to make my laptop worse or even render it unusable. Neither your email, not the video gave any warning about the risks of doing such things. Thankfully I have some common sense. I will await your response before further posting publicly on this matter as to be fair it was a review not a complaint that I initially made but given your response to it I feel that a more formal complaint may be an appropriate course of action." Given the obvious barriers to contact, please consider this to now be a formal complaint! I would like an email address that I can communicate with you so as to more fully share my complaint with you and hopefully bring it to resolution Original comment: I got this laptop specifically for the i7 chip and it's computing ability has been fine and able to handle music recording. Three things have upset me though 1. A dodgy letter O key which feels as if there is something under one corner so it doesn't press down properly. 2. The fact that the fan is very loud which could impinge on my music recording and is just generally annoying 3. The effect that it has to make your video feed brighter on video calls had led to video feed failure on two occasions (having used it twice). This last is something of an assumption but video has certainly cut out twice and then reverted to a darker feed. Obviously didn't find out the issues until all set up and everything installed so can't be bothered to return for a replacement as I suspect that despite the issues it will meet my needs (if I intend to do lots of typing I'll connect a separate keyboard). The convenience of having a laptop is completely ruined when I cant sit though my 2 hour class without worrying if its going to die or not. I had a Chromebook for 4 years before this and it was able to retain its charge for around 4 days before I would need to plug it in. During that time It was never turned off and isn't in rest mode and still held great charge for the entire 4 years I used it. I decided to get a new laptop because even though Chromebook last long, the keyboard and screen break down very fast. I chose dell because I wanted something nicer for a good price but so far the battery life has made the experience not great. When purchasing I also planned to play games on here as well but I'm sure now It wont last more than 20 minutes at the rate. Another annoying feature is that when I have it closed for a bit longer than 15 minutes the entire laptop turns off. Then have to hold the power button for a long time for it to turn on again. I'm not sure its it's an attempt to save battery but its very annoying. Less

detailedReviews 90: content: Only been using for a few days. Light weight, Nice size. However from the second day of use, the built-in speakers were messing up, at first no sound would come through the speakers, despite the system detecting output sound. Then the sound just started to sound really bad out of no where, inaudible for words. Lastly the laptop seems to run hot. Only a few tasks were open and then the sounds of all the fans whirring will start and you can feel the heat from where the monitor and keyboard meet. This is it when it sits flatly on a bare, cool table. Likely, the other hardware in the laptop aren't able to take the power of the processor and gpu... Ultimately this laptop turned out to be a dud even with the wonderful specs.

I cannot understand whether this is a common issue in this model or in my lap alone and I even have doubt whether my lap has some manufacturing defect with regard to battery. I have this suspicion and I am disappointed only as the battery in my lap drains rapidly. My laptop battery sustains only for 2.5 hours in normal use and I cannot even watch a full movie completely and I am utterly disappointed as I cannot even use this lap to watch a complete movie for 3 hours continuously without charging. My battery drains like water poured into a cup with a big hole. Without any use from 100 percent the battery comes to 80 percent within 10 mins and within 2 hours of any ordinary use it comes below 20 percent. I would have been happy if the battery sustained at least for 4 hours or more. My brightness setting is also quite normal and I am shocked to see the battery capacity of my lap. Therefore I kindly request you to see this review and provide me a solution if at all possible. Less

detailedReviews 93: content: The Inspiron 15 3525 works well with the latest Ubuntu (main reason for purchase). Ubuntu worked without any additional drivers. I completely wiped Windows and replaced with Ubuntu. I wanted a Windows 11 installer for when I sell the laptop. I tried to obtain a copy from Dell Support immediately after purchase as I'd installed Ubuntu. They said a manager would be in touch. Weeks later nobody has contacted me. Support was very difficult to deal with and recommended buying a new laptop. The laptop works well and runs Ubuntu very well. Three stars because the after sales support was awful.

detailedReviews 94: content: This laptop is my 7th Dell laptop but the first time I required service. When the laptop arrived the power cord plug that goes into the block of the power cord was slightly cracked, resulting in an error message when I try to recharge. I have now talked to 3 Dell representatives and despite answering the very same questions 3 times during an total of 60+ minutes and submitting photos plus having to change my schedule to accommodate Dell, I still do not have a solution. The only solution is for Dell to ship a new power cord but Dell doesn’t seem to want to do that. My summary is this…the laptops are great but the service is awful. Don’t buy the extra warranty. It’s not as good as the paper it is written on.

detailedReviews 95: content: In my review of the Inspiron 15 (3525), I must express mixed sentiments. While the laptop boasted promising features, I encountered a significant setback with its WiFi connection. Despite multiple attempts by the technical team to rectify the issue, the connection remained frustratingly slow and unreliable. This flaw overshadowed the product's other qualities and ultimately led to my decision to return it. Additionally, the overall manufacturing quality fell short of my expectations. While hopeful for a positive experience, the persistent WiFi problem was a major disappointment.

If i would have known the keyboard was so awkward i wouldn't have got this model. Also, when i started it up the first time it scared me because it wouldn't load. Needed updates first. I deliberately selected the Home edition of Windows 11 as this does not come with BitLocker, having experienced issues with it before. However, the Home edition does have BitLocker installed and active, it just lacks the extra tools to make it possible to disable it during updates. Dell needs to work with Microsoft to have this disabled by default because the difficulty in unlocking a BitLocked drive will be beyond many casual users. Only after the purchase did I find out that the extended warranty I paid for does not cover the battery. It's a shame that I now have a bad taste in my mouth and would not advise friends to buy from Dell, because the laptop itself is perfectly acceptable and I would not think of returning it. I'm now worried enough about the warranty being arbitrarily voided that I'm afraid to take the back off, something I've done with five previous laptops I owned. So I adjusted the sensitivity and read up on all the how-to-use it stuff and it still is crazy hard to use. detailedReviews 112: content: I am enjoying my new laptop, it's fast and easy to use.

I am frankly shocked that for your response you have suggested things that need significant expertise/ equipment and would presumably invalidate any warranties. I used it maybe 10 times in the last 1.5 years. I took it to a repair shop where I was told the motherboard was completely broken and it wasn't worth trying to replace it because the processor is all AMD and it's just a waste of time. I paid over $900 over a cheaply made laptop. Never buying Dell again. buy somewhere else.

Less

detailedReviews 124: content: Only been using for a few days.

The only solution is for Dell to ship a new power cord but Dell doesn’t seem to want to do that. My summary is this…the laptops are great but the service is awful. Don’t buy the extra warranty.

The hinge for one of the screens broke in the first 6 months I was out of the country so I couldn't get it fixed. They are failing, sometimes they don't turn on I have to leave them for a few minutes then try to start them again by unplugging them then replunging them in. Very frustrating. I guess you get what you pay for..... lol

detailedReviews 138: content: Returning it because it doesn't have a backlit keyboard. I thought that was a standard feature these days (EVERY laptop I have bough in the past +20yrs has had a backlit keyboard). Now I have to pay a 15% restocking fee to exchange it. Mainly just needed something basic for Microsoft office products and the internet (don't game or use complex programs). Didn't realize that backlit keyboards are an option. Guess next time I shop for cars I better make sure it comes with the tires.

I changed the mini-jack plug for a slim-line one, but with no difference. So I am now at a loss as how to solve this issue. detailedReviews 141: content: been using dell laptops since 2011, never had complaints. this is disappointment one. got this for my mom. the contrast is too bland to make for a good screen if you are used to better. it is a constant eye sore that everything is so washed out. the wifi issues are annoying. connects, but the speed is slow, works better with mobile hotspots and worse with wifi devices, very unpredictable, making it a frustrating ordeal. plus the pricing for this model was all around the place, and couldn't locate this on the official website, and ended up paying more than necessary at a reliance digital outlet for this piece. I wouldn't get it for myself. there are better priced stock/ custom options in various brands.

Unfortunately, this one had the same problems as the last, including restarting itself for a long period before coming back on, battery issues, constant disc failure, among other things. On the pro's side of things when it did work it was okay, but nothing special in that regard.

There didn't seem to be anything that came out right and said start here and follow this step and then follow the next step. I can follow directions and that is what is easiest for me. I also don't like the touch pad of this dell. It seems slick and overly responsive. The virus protection claimed that the free trial is over and I was attempting to accept it, but it would not allow me to use the password. That meant rechecking the password and asking to reset it. I thought that I would be on today about a half or an hour and it going on the second hour. Is it me or is it that I have lost my touch at setting up computers? Will someone please show me direct and in order set up directions ? Less

detailedReviews 145: content: Bought this to replace a ten year old laptop. I am a retiree with good computer skills but I am frustrated by the touch pad. So I adjusted the sensitivity and read up on all the how-to-use it stuff and it still is crazy hard to use. Had my son look at it - a draftsman who uses computers all day - and he too found it overly sensitive. Had to resort to a mouse which I never needed with my previous touchpad. Also disappointed with the speed of programs opening; while working on genealogy I can have several programs / apps open and find things slow loading, especially the internet which was lightning fast in the same situation on my previous laptop. Don't know if it's just a Windows program issue or the laptop but still disappointed that this Dell didn't blow me away.

detailedReviews 146: content: I am enjoying my new laptop, it's fast and easy to use. Good computer, even for my small fingers that don't type very fast.

detailedReviews 150: content: It's early days yet, but while my Inspiron 15 has the look and feel of a great laptop and is wonderfully light and slim, with a wonderfully responsive keyboard, in operation, however, it's something else entirely.
