This is truly a great formula. Its long-wearing without being drying, or sticky. It dries down matte and feels like having nothing on. I also love that its buildable. A truly perfect product.

Long-lasting: Stays on for a long time, reducing the need for frequent touch-ups. Cons: Not completely matte: Has a slight sheen that might not appeal to those who prefer a fully matte finish. detailedReviews 4: content: I have never used a liquid matte lipstick before and they have come up with a great formula. These lipsticks are pretty in color, creamy and not too sticky on the lips. They are pigmented, long lasting and doesn’t have a bad smell. I am very shocked at how great they are and that they don't wear off as much during the day. They do rub off a bit as you drink or eat, as most do. Price wise I think is decent and we always have Maybelline deals in store and coupons to cut the cost.

detailedReviews 5: content: “Nude Flush” is one of the lightest shades from this collection. It is a delicate pinkish mauve n*de shade. Of course, such shades have a tendency to wash people out and it is necessary to complement it well with appropriate eye makeup. I personally liked the shade as it is a perfect n*de for my skin tone. The lipstick is decently pigmented, but at least two swipes are needed for a smooth and even finish. Layering does lead to a slight clumping of the lipstick. The lipstick has a creamy texture. It is not very runny and spreads easily on the lips. This range is advertised as matte, but the lipstick does not dry down completely and remains slightly wet throughout its wear time. It has a pretty glossy finish. The lipstick feels comfortable and lightweight on the lips and does not feel drying. It does not highlight any dry patches, but I would still recommend EXFOLIATE LIPS before application.Pros of Maybelline Nude Flush Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color:Nice n*de shade.Creamy texture which glides smoothly on the lips.Decent pigmentation.Does not feel drying on the lips.Does not highlight any dry patches.Cons of Maybelline Nude Flush Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color:This particular shade might wash out some.Does not have a matte finish as advertised.Clumps if layered.Average staying power.

detailedReviews 10: content: I've had great luck with these. All mine have worn super well, almost a little too well as I literally couldn't remove them and kind of ended up coating my lips in oil cleanser and scraping it off while I was in the bathtub and a week later there is still liquid lipstick stains in my bathtub.... So yeah, very long wearing. It didn't get gross or like pill up or separate or fade on certain parts of my lips and not on others which a lot of liquid long last lipsticks do.... I liked this product way better than the Anastasia Beverly Hills liquid mattes. I especially love the sleek-looking tube, it's not tacky and embarrassing looking or made from something that gets a ton of visible fingerprints on it. definitely make sure to moisturize your lips prior to wearing and I would probably skip this product all together if you have a really small lips (any matte will make them look smaller and the long-wearing formula would likely shrivel them even smaller). I'll definitely buy more shades!

detailedReviews 11: content: I am so happy Maybelline has successfully create 10 Vivid Matte Shaded liquid lipsticks that are comfortable to wear, look amazing, and have incredible wear and color without feeling dry or tight. This line is great for those of us with drier lips that feel like mattes suck the moisture from our lips. Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid delivers intense color with a traditional matte finish but not a traditional matte formula. This formula is easier to apply, easier to wear and looks incredible without ever feeling heavy or dry!
Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color comes in a clear, plastic, rectangular tube that contains a sponge applicator that saturates the color very well. This formula hugs lips and move with lips in a way that the color never feels dry, tight, or uncomfortable.
I usually apply a top coat of gloss with my lipsticks but with these new Vivid Matte Liquids- there is no need because it leaves a glossy and shiny look. I only have to apply after eating. Then, I am set for the rest of the day!
It goes on like a creamy lip stain with deeply pigmented colors and just stays put. The wand and texture allows very accurate precision and the color looks absolutely stunning in all your photos. I am a huge fan and ever since I received my Vivid Matte Liquid Lip Color, it has not left my purse. I received Rebel Red and Nude Flush and I absolutely love both colors. I can't choose which one I like better, they both look fabulous on me. I am beyond impressed!! Great Job Maybelline!

title: Comfortable, amazing look, incredible wear and color
detailedReviews 12: content: I just recently started getting into wearing different lip products and experimenting to try and find a shade that suits me. I have to say the Nude Flesh is perfect for me. I have always loved Nude colors and always tend to go for the more natural look. It is great having a shade that goes perfect with any season and style. It has a natural, elegant look to it that is great for just lounging around or going out. The Rebel red shade I have to say knocked my socks off. I honestly didn't know what to think until I applied and took a look in the mirror. I have no problem sporting this sexy shade of red. It goes PERFECT with my completion and skin tone. I have always been scared to try vibrant colors such as Rebel red, but not anymore. This product smashed that fear to bits. I love the soft, silky texture that applies on evenly and smoothly over my lips. I really enjoy how you don't have to apply much to get that perfect look and the color last all day. If I want a bolder shade of color, I just put on another coat. This product isn't thick like similar products, so it doesn't feel like I have stuff caked all over my lips and it doesn't leave a really oily feeling either. It has the perfect combination to leave my lips feeling beautiful and moisturized. It smells really pleasant too unlike other products that I have tried that have a funky smell. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking to add a pop of color to their style or if you're like me and just want to just complete a more natural nude look.

detailedReviews 13: content: If you are looking for a longer lasting, matte liquid lipstick, this is it.
PROS: Glides on silky smooth. Thin in consistency, not sticky or goopy. Full coverage in a small amount. Matte and beautiful. A wide range of colors for everyone, every style. Longer lasting than other liquid lipsticks I've tried.
CONS: As this is a matte, long-lasting liquid lipstick, it is just a bit drying. If you have very dry lips, this may not be the best choice for you. But, mildly dry lips (like mine) will do fine. If you wearing this during a meal containing oil (salad dressing, rich sauce, etc.) expect some fading in the center of your lips. (But, it reapplies nicely!)
Overall, I recommend this product. For a little shine, add a bit of highlighting cream to the center of your bottom lip and you are good to go.

detailedReviews 14: content: Every makeup brand is releasing their version of a matte lip product, and Maybelline finally joined in. I've heard some mixed reviews, so I'm going to break down my opinion on the product. First of all I want to say that I have this in the shades Nude Flash and Nude Thrill.
I personally really love these matte lippies! When you first apply them, they're NOT matte. But once they have set on your lips for a few seconds they do dry matte. I recommend not using too much product when you first apply the color to your lips. I feel like the applicator is really generous with the product and gives too much product. Wipe the applicator off on the container and then apply. If you feel like the first application wasn't too pigmented, then once that has dried you can apply another application, just make sure to wipe off the applicator so you don't get too much product.
As for staying power, I really feel like this lippie stays on my lips all day. I can eat and drink and still have product on my lips by the end of the day.
These lippies are more creamy than your average matte lipstick, and I really like that about them! They dry but they don't dry so much that they're caked into your lips. I'm sure you guys know what I'm talking about - when you're wearing a matte lipstick and you feel like you can't talk because you're lipstick is so dry. Yeah, I don't have that problem with these lippies.
I recommend this for everyone to try. I think if you make sure to wipe off the applicator so you don't get too much product, it really makes a difference when applying the lipstick.

detailedReviews 15: content: This product is awesome! It is no secret that one new beauty trend is liquid lipsticks, but there aren't that many affordable options, until now. I love that this is super affordable and the shades are great, specifically this one. I tend to go for lighter nudes, but this one is just pink enough that it adds a little something to your look. I used this product going out in simple, jeans and t-shirts and it dressed my look up. Sometimes I feel that adding a lip product can overdo it, but not with this shade, so thats great. The first time wearing it I went for a more moussey finish and the product was absolutely beautiful on and lasted at least four to five hours. It was also extremely moisturizing. The second time I wore it I kissed a tissue twice (as prompted in the directions) to achieve a more matte finish and it definitely delivered! Even matte, my lips didn't feel dry. My only problem with this product is that though the product smelled pleasant, it was a bit overwhelming for me, but I think that was just my personal preference shining through.
I tested Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid for free, but all opinions are my own.

detailedReviews 16: content: I didn't read all the negative reviews but most seem to not like this is not AS matte as they expected. Well, OK maybe there are products that are more matte, but on me these do look sufficiently matte. They dry to a satin finish pretty quick and if I don't eat/drink for a little longer settle into quite a matte finish. What I love about this and the Revlon one that's similar is how lightweight they are and how they're not too drying! I have dry everything and love a matte lip and it's been great to see improvements in formulae for lip products! The NYX SMLCs were my previous budget choice for liquid matte lips. I was delighted to find these at the drugstore as they were readily available, I could see the colors, returnable, sales etc... Maybelline lipsticks are among my faves as they are pigmented and have great colors. This line is no exception. I am delighted by the formula on these. I feel like I have nothing on, they're feather weight! I literally forget I have anything on my lips and catch myself in the mirror, whoa! I do have lipstuff on and bright too! I get vivid, lasting color for hours. I'm so glad matte lips are becoming more and more comfortable to sport and this product is among those I reach for often. I got the fuschia and berry colors and both are awesome. The Revlon ones are also great but bulkier in packaging. Way to go Maybelline!!

detailedReviews 18: content: I love matte lipstick. I have never been a fan of big shiny lips but I have always had a hard time finding a matte lipstick that kept my lips feeling moisturized and not dried out. This lipstick goes on smooth and light. And as the directions told me, if you kiss a tissue after you apply it and allow it to dry you will get a super matte finish. I actually liked it better without doing that extra step but it did look great. That step also stops the lipstick mark on a glass from happening.
I got 2 colors, Nude Flush and Rebel Red. Both colors were beautiful shades and were well pigmented. Nude Flush is my favorite and it will be my everyday lip color. It is the perfect pink color with a hint of beige. I keep calling it the perfect mauve. Rebel Red is a classic red that gives you an instant feeling of sexy sophistication. I plan to use that one as my going out color and for days when I'm feeling particularly fierce.
This lipstick has staying power even though it doesn't completely dry on your lips unless you do the kiss the tissue trick. I only had to reapply once throughout the day. The wand is the perfect size but it is completely straight and does not vary in size. I prefer the wand end to be angled at the very least. Helps me get into the cupids bow the exact way I like but that is a personal preference thing. I also think I would prefer to use a lip liner with this lipstick. The edges didn't feather but I didn't feel like my lip edges were defined enough.
Highly recommend for anyone looking for a good matte lipstick that doesn't make your lips look dry.
I received #VividMatte Liquid Lipstick compliments of #Maybelline and #Influenster for test and review purposes.

detailedReviews 19: content: I have the shades Nude Flush and Rebel Red. There are some things I really love about this lipstick and other things that aren't so great. I love the shades that I have, especially Nude Flush. It is a nice everyday color and Rebel Red is nice for a day you want to look your best. These lipsticks are very pigmented, but they do slide around a lot which makes them kind of hard to apply. They seem really glossy unless you blot them, which doesn't affect the pigmentation but does help you get that matte finish! The thing I love even more than the pigment of these lipsticks is the velvety feel to them. The formula is very creamy and soft and not at all drying. This is perfect for someone like me who has dry lips and loves matte colors. I also really enjoyed that this product did not cling to dry spots on lips like other lipsticks seem to. It is very wearable and comfortable! This lipstick does transfer, so if you're eating do expect to reapply a bit afterwards. Altogether, I really like this product. I recieved these two lipsticks free from influenser for testing purposes.

detailedReviews 20: content: I got this liquid lipstick in two colors, Nude Flush and Rebel Road. I have fair-medium skin with neutral undertones, and was really impressed by the Nude Flush on me-it doesn't pull too pink, orange, or brown, and also doesn't look like concealer or give me mannequin lips. I have a hard time finding a nude lipstick and this one's a keeper. The Rebel Road is great for a night out, but given that this lipstick is very creamy, you have to take care not to smudge it until it's totally dry.
I'd compare the initial feeling to the Stila Stay All Day liquid lipstick-similar application, similar smell. The red shade darker than Rebel Road would probably be a good dupe for Beso. It's a little thinner, and a lot less drying. I think the staying power is a little less because of this, but it is a lot more comfortable to wear and fades evenly rather than leaving a bold ring around the edges of my mouth.
Overall, a good product. I received this product free to try, but all these opinions are my own, and I think this is a high-quality lipstick at a good price.

detailedReviews 21: content: One of my favorite liquid lipsticks! I love liquid lipsticks and matte so this product is one of my favorites. It isn't drying or flaky which is a big plus.
40 Berry Boost is the color I wear most because Im obsessed with pink lips. Light pink, bright pink, dark pink... I LIVE FOR IT! The color goes on evenly and isn't patchy or runny. Very good consistency.
37 Coffee Buzz is my #2! It's a great dark lip and isn't toooooo dark for my skin tone. My friend gave me this color and I am so glad she did. It's something I wouldn't have picked out on my own.
55 Sinful Stone, I have mixed feelings with this one. I am still figuring out how to find my look with it, but I really like the color. I have to apply multiple layers and it's a bit watery/runny so it can be difficult to apply. I'm not giving up on it!
Overall, I would recommend this brand if you're looking for an affordable liquid matte lip color.

detailedReviews 22: content: I like this lipstick a lot. I bought it in Red Punch. I’m not usually one for liquid lipstick, or red for that matter, but I wanted to try something different for our wedding day. Honestly the first time I applied it it was such a mess, but I think this was mostly due to not being as experienced with liquid lipstick. After a second trial run with lip liner I was able to apply it without getting it everywhere. It does apply a bit patchy so I have to use a second layer to get full coverage. Also, it’s best to use a tissue to blot most of the product off after applying so that it dries to a matte look faster and doesn’t stay wet and sticky. It lasted for several hours but will wear off a bit if you’re eating. I don’t wear this shade too often but I would consider trying other shades in the future.

detailedReviews 23: content: I miss this stuff! It seems long-discontinued and I suspect the reason why is that it never did seem to fully dry down- it was, admittedly, smudges and kiss marks galore with this product, but it was so plush and comfortable while being intensely pigmented and velvety matte. It also, rather charmingly, smelled distinctly of Froot Loops. I can understand why this formula was retired, but it was cheap and cheerful, and great for photographs, even if it wouldn’t have held up for a dinner date.

title: Pretty true to color, love these lip shades
detailedReviews 25: content: I honestly feel like the only person on earth who doesn't understand the liquid / matte lip trend.... I HATE liquid lipstick that dries 100% because it literally looks disgusting on everyone I've ever seen it on- why would anyone want crusty, dried up lip color ?! Why would people want accentuated cracks and lines ?!!! I've tried (ulta's competitor) liquid lipstick (in 2012 though) and hated it, and I recently tried nyx soft matte lip creams and HATED it because it felt like a silicone makeup primer- just sitting on top of the lips, sliding around, never dried at all.
This liquid lip isn't chalky matte. I tried 02 Grey something and after an hour it turned more pale and matte looking. What I love about it is that it strikes the perfect balance of sinking into the skin- not too much nor too little, the perfect balance of dead corpse chalky matte and creamy liquid. It doesn't crack, turn crusty and gross and flake off; it adheres to the lips but also moves seamlessly WITH the lips like spandex. Granted, I did wear a natural color, however it didn't need touching up until a few hours after applying, and it faded very gracefully. I love the creamy texture as well. I wouldn't call this a matte liquid lipstick in the modern understanding, but I would in the sense of thinking about an actual lipstick- creamy, satin, lightweight and adheres beautifully. But i seem to be the only one who still loves regular lipstick the most. I can't wait to buy the orchid shock color.
Cons: doe foot applicator is on trend with huge lips trend. Not all of us have gigantic lips! Too big and applies too much product for me with average sized lips.

detailedReviews 26: content: Loved the shade of this lipstick which is a pretty, nude red on me. The lipstick is very creamy and glides on smoothly while applying. I think you can apply this without using a lip balm because it is pretty moisturizing in itself. The lipstick isn't very pigmented but it's easily buildable for more pigment as needed. Now keep in mind that this isn't liquid lipstick, so it isn't completely transfer proof but it does still stay on well after food and drinks. I tried it on for almost one full day. It did transfer a lot I usually prefer lipsticks with scent and this one has a mild scent, Overall, I loved it and would recommend it for the cute shade and for how creamy it is, but this won't be my go-to lipstick. i use it once a day and it comfortably lasts for atleast 12 hours..i wish it would a little more matte and bring more more shades of this magic lipstick. #long lasting

detailedReviews 27: content: I have #10 Nude Flush, and #35 Rebel Red. Both of these shades upon first swatch had a mouse/creme like texture with full opacity and a lot of color pigmentation. Nude Flush is a beautiful mid-tone nude pink and Rebel Red is a bright and vibrant cool-toned red. The long yet pointed sponge applicator holds quite a bit of product that is nice for swatching purposes, but it does carry too much product to the lips upon first swipe. With this I needed to scrape off some excess product in order to apply in a thin layer to my lips. This product DOES NOT dry down to a completely matte finish. It will maintain a smooth and creamy feeling between the lips for the duration of wear with a satin finish. With this, be weary of bright shades as these do transfer and do not fully set. While I love the Rebel Red shade, I would be concerned about wearing this out and about for fear that it would smear. Nude Flush is a beautiful every day nude shade that I will definitely be putting in my purse for on the go use. Rebel Red also left a slight red stain on my lips after about 30 minutes of wear, I would expect all of the bright shades to leave a similar stain. Overall, these liquid lip colors are extremely comfortable while providing a satin and full color look to the lips. These could easily be mattified with a tissue or translucent powder and provide the versatility of achieving both a satin and matte look from one product. These are a beautiful liquid lip product if you are after a long-wear lip creme without the matte finish. I received both of these products for free and testing purposes, but all comments and opinions are my own.

title: Comfortable, satin finish, easily mattified with powder
detailedReviews 28: content: This is a very beautiful color! Very pigmented and I have used this multiple times when I went out. I even have another one of these in the shade of vivid violet, which is a perfect dark plum color for the fall seasons. These lipsticks are super creamy and so soft as it glides across your lips. I love how soft they really are on your lips. It is not sticky when you rub your lips together. But, the reason why I gave it four stars is because of the transfer. Even though, it is labeled as matte lipsticks it really not like the other matte lipsticks that can last throughout the day due to how easy it can transfer onto other things. You can easily smudge it if, you are not careful. It can also transfer onto your teeth, which can be annoying when you don't know you have lipstick on your teeth. I usually take a sheet of tissue paper and lightly lay it onto my lips and then use a fluffy brush with some setting powder and pad it down onto the sheet of tissue paper that is being pressed against my lips. I do that because it gives a more matte finish. That is one of the beauty tricks I learned from one of the beauty gurus.

detailedReviews 29: content: I have both #10 Nude Flush, and #35 Rebel Red, both shown in the swatches below. These are a beautiful liquid lip product if you are after a long-wear lip creme without the matte finish.

detailedReviews 30: content: First off, I do believe that the colors are very gorgeous and true to shade for this product. They are vibrant, pigmented, and I believe the shade range of this product line offers something for everyone. As far as the rest of the product goes, there are some aspects that aren't quite for me...
One of the most instantaneous things most customers will notice is the scent. Personally, I really enjoy it - I believe it smells exactly like Fruity Pebbles cereal, which is a delightfully fun little throwback to my childhood. However, there is a taste that does accompany it, and I would describe it as a starchy taste, which led me to believe that I had the lip color bleeding inside my mouth. Most of the time, it did not, but it was a big moment of panic for me, and I am constantly wondering if this product is on my teeth when I notice the taste. Along with the taste traveling into your mouth, the product DOES travel on your lips, which brings me to the second point...
The "matte" finish. I'm not quite sure why the product has this word on the tube. Sure, it gives a faux matte appearance if you blot the product, but the product is so creamy, it would not stay put for me. I did try applying lipliner and blotting my lips, but the lip color continued to have a mind of its' own. I believe that this is because it is such a moisturizing formula - which isn't always a bad thing, but it doesn't lend itself very well to the matte finish and staying power.
Overall, I believe this is a decent product with some great aspects, but I don't believe it is a truly matte liquid lipstick. If these were just "Vivid Liquid Lipcolors", I believe they would have achieved that purpose perfectly. The finish and the taste just don't compare to other liquid lipsticks I've tried, but I think this is a decent attempt that Maybelline put forward.

detailedReviews 31: content: First off, shout out to Influ enster for sending these lipsticks to so I could try them. I was able to try both the Nude Flush and Rebel Red and I really loved the color of both and the texture was very smooth and dried without making my lips feel dry. When you first apply it the lipstick is super creamy and shiny, and you can leave it that way if your wish. But if you "kiss a tissue" or blot your lips, instant matte!
Nude Flush is a very nice pinky nude as opposed to a real nude, nude color. It's perfect for summer and really works with any look. It dries down very matte after blotting. It really does have good staying power and doesn't ball up or flake off like many mattes do. I wore it out and about and it lasted about 6 hours, which is including lunch at Chipotle, a drink from Starbucks, and dinner at In and Out. Very good to see it last.
It is important to note that I did not touch up the lipstick on the days I wore it in order to truly test the staying power.
Altogether I was equally impressed the Vivid Matte lipsticks, they do not disappoint in the payout aspect, and the promise of vivid matte is fulfilled by the nude flush
The Lipsticks applied very smoothly and evenly. The applicator is a small doe foot which is perfect for precise application. The great thing about them applying so creamy is that if you happen to mess up and smudge your lip line a bit it is very easy to clean up any mistakes with a wet Q-tip or moist makeup wipe.
Again, I was sent the Maybelline Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick in Nude Flush and Rebel Red for FREE in exchange for my honest review, and that fact has that influenced my review or my opinion what so ever. title: Smooth texture, dries without making lips dry
detailedReviews 32: content: I received both the 10 Nude Flesh, and 35 Rebel Red for free in exchange for my honest opinions.
I have naturally dry lips, so I'm always a bit hesitant when it comes to Matte Lipsticks. I wouldn't really consider these to be a true matte, more of a satin, because there is some shine to it even after waiting a while for them to dry. I do feel though that the lighter colour had a more of a matte finish than the bolder red.
The formula is nice and creamy, and applies easily, but neither fully dried for me which resulted in some minor transfer. The transfer was really minor though, so I didn't have to reapply much after eating or drinking something. They both lasted about 4-5 hours for me, so I don't consider them long-wear, and I found that they have a sort of scent to them that I don't find the most flattering. Also note that some people have said this line causes a tingling in their lips. I haven't personally felt anything like that, it's just something to be cautious of though.
As far as the colours-
Nude Flesh is my favourite of the 2 I received. It's a great wearable, every-day lip colour that has just enough to enhance my natural lip colour.
Rebel Red is warm-toned red. I've been on the hunt for a really great red I have pictured in my mind, and this one comes insanely close. I tend to try and only get cool-toned lip colours because I feel it works best with my skin tone, but this shade was lovely! I've worn it a few times and have gotten compliments on it.
Overall, they have great pigmentation, are a comfortable lip product for people who tend stay away from mattes then I would for sure recommend, but if you are sensitive to perfumes, want something long lasting, that's a true matte, and/or that dries completely, this may not be the right product.

title: Great pigmentation, comfortable, not a true matte
detailedReviews 33: content: This smooth-applying liquid lipstick gives other drugstore options (and some prestige ones) a run for their money! although the applicator isn't as structured as I would like, the design does enable you to turn it to use the edge to outline, and then the flat side to fill in. Application goes well enough with the wand, but if you want true control, use a lip brush. I have both Rebel Red and Nude Flush; both shades applied with full opacity in one coat, but neither dried matte. This doesn't bother me; so many liquid, matte lipsticks are drying and tough to deal with; this one is fairly forgiving, and does not highlight the lines in your lips. Maybelline suggests kissing a tissue to get a full matte effect...but as that can be done with literally any lipstick ever, I feel like it is misleading to market these as matte lipsticks. Otherwise, they are REALLY comfortable and the colors are rich. Rebel Red is just a smidge warmer than a true red and should be quite close to universally flattering. Nude Flush might be more of a gamble with other skintones - it isn't terribly flattering on me as an NC20. Another drawback is that because this is a comfortable liquid lipstick, you sacrifice longevity and staying power. This is not a, "kiss proof," lipstick. I got a solid 3 hours of wear, but it deteriorated as I consumed beverages and the like. If you can live with that, give this a shot!
I tested Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid for free but this opinion is my own.

title: Smooth-applying, comfortable, rich colors, not matte
detailedReviews 34: content: I am going to review two shades including, Rebel Red and Nude Thrill! Color wise, this product has a great selection of 10 colors that work for all skin types and colors! I was thoroughly impressed with the amount of reds they had to offer. Usually a company has a bright red and an orange red, but Maybelline really won me over with having 4 different shades that would be considered different hues of red. Way to go! I personally was interested in this product because Matte is the in thing. I tried Nude Thrill first as I was getting ready to attend a baby shower. I got lots of compliments from my friends and was asked multiple times "is that a Kylie color"? I was so excited to share with them that it wasn't, and that Maybelline's Color Sensation Vivid Matte Liquid was an affordable price for the everyday woman! When I applied the color on, it instantly felt velvet like, smelled amazing, and was very pigmented with the first swipe on. I was honestly shocked at how instantly Matte the product was when I did a first layer on my bottom lip. A few days later, i tried the product with multiple layers and got a more creamier lip approach. Both ways were great for my lips, but the more product I put on, the easier it transferred, even after letting it dry for 40 mins. Because this product is so pigmented, I would recommend using only one layer of the lip color because it instantly gives you a matte look, and you won't be wasting the product. The only con I have for this product is that it easily transfers after being set and doesn't last too long. Whenever I had lunch and was drinking from my coffee mug, the lip color kept transferring more and more each time. Even though it does transfer easily, I am very impressed with how pigmented this color is right away. Even if it means having to reapply, I would say this product is definitely worth it!

detailedReviews 35: content: I tried two different colors within the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid. 💄 The colors I tried were on two other sides of the color spectrum and I'm glad I branched out.
This specific #VividMatte line from Maybelline gives you the option of having two different looks and I'm loving it. I'm always looking for high pigmented lip colors and this didn't disappoint! What intrigued me the most was being able to one, save $$$ on purchasing a liquid lip color that both have me the ability to give me two finishes! Some days I'm wanting a full matte lip finish but then other days I'd prefer a more satin, slightly glossy finish and the Maybelline #VividMatte gave me just that!
With most nude colors I prefer a matte finish, so the Nude Thrill ended up being the perfect 1 coat all natural lip color with the matte finish! But then on the second color I tried, Rebel Red was the most sensational red I have ever worn! It was such the perfect red with in my opinion anyone's complextion. For this color, the pigmentation was beautiful and since I was headed out for the night, I knew putting 2 coats on would give me that WOW! By putting on the two coats I was left with a bright, sexy red that was satiny and slightly shiny. It was so gorgeous!
So, 1 #vividmatte color, 2 ways to showcase the beautiful colors! 1 coat gives you a sophisticated matte, perfect for any daytime wear and 2 coats will give you a little more shine and personally gave me a sexy look!
Disclosure-- I received these two lip colors for free from @influenster to sample and give my honest opinion. Receiving these as a sample in no way influenced my review or feedback.

detailedReviews 36: content: I found this liquid lipcolor at my local Marshall's. This product had been out for awhile. The color is a peachy nude that dries down matte. Only one swipe is needed since the color is intensly pigmented. It is a beautiful color . I had to wear a brown liner with this product since It is a little light for my complexion.(warm/NW45). The color last about 5 hours and left a faded shade on my lips. I like the formula and it did not make my lips look cracked at all. I would suggest a light scrub and a bit of chapstick if your lips need it. I am going to see if I can find other neutral colors in this formula. It is a good product that is budget friendly. I recommend 100%.

detailedReviews 37: content: The lipstick come in gloss style tubes with application wands, but because they are liquid lipsticks they are very opaque. The formula is designed to layer with one layer drying more matte, and two layers looks pigmented and glossy. I like the look of both the thin layer and thick layer. The formula stains, which is great, so I like to put on a thicker layer. As I go through my day the lip wears down but I still look like I am wearing lipstick. Another thing that I really enjoy about this formula is that it feels like butter. They are way more hydrating than a quick setting matte. So while I don't find them to be quite as matte as other lippies, I do find the formula really enjoyable. I consider it more like a Gloss to Matte. A reversible bag if you will.
One thing that I think people might not like is the strong scent. It smells like a very heavy handed vanilla extract to me and it's extremely sweet. I don't particularly mind it, but I know that a lot of people are very sensitive to certain scents, or choosy about how things smell. Hopefully they will tone it down in the future because a lip product doesn't really need a strong scent to be enjoyable.
I received both Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick shades for free, for testing purposes.
I actually really liked these lipsticks and I am thinking about purchasing a few more shades!

detailedReviews 38: content: I have used color Rebel Red and Nude Flush.
The formula is very smooth, they feel very "velvety" if it was up to me I would change the name of this product to Color Sensational Vivid Velvet Liquid Lip Color instead of Matte.
For this review, I will start with my experience using color #35 (Rebel Red), this color looks like it would be a blue toned red but once applied it's a bit more on the orange-red spectrum. (Not a bad thing) The color is buildable, if you apply a thing layer it gives your lips more of a tint, and yes at this point it does look a bit matte although it is not a drying kind of matte (this is a good thing). If you apply more product it feels like a lip gloss and the color shows up more. The texture of the color Rebel Red looked good even on my chapped lips, on the other hand... (here's where my review for color #10 Nude flush starts) the finish texture of color #10 on my chapped lips looked patchy. But the color is veeeery pretty! Lighter than what it looks like in the bottle, more pink nude than mauve (not a bad thing). I really liked this color but it would accentuate the unevenness that my lips have at the moment, and i dont realy like when the lipstick looks patchy. Other than that it feels just like the other color, velbet with one application, glosse with 2 applications. :)
*Disclaimer - I received each product complimentary for testing purposes.

detailedReviews 39: content: I was excited when I got Nude Thrill and Rebel Road delivered to me. I instantly put the Nude Thrill on first, because I was getting ready to go to a baby shower. The packaging is very nice. I was a little surprised at how "mini sized" it was, but the packaging fit the Vivid theme, and it was nice that the bottle was clear so that I could see the exact color.
Both lip colors applied on very easily and smelled amazing! Usually I don't prefer a lip color that has a strong sent, but this is heavenly! I would recommend this for women who struggle with scents when it comes to choosing make up for them.
Applying the lip color was very easy as well. The wands they come with were very lightweight, and gentle to use.
The color itself when applied on is amazing. When you do a single coat, you instantly get that all matte feel that every woman is on search for. When you apply multiple coats, you get a hint of a matte feel, but you get a more velvet like feel upon your lips, which feels very nice!
The only con I had was that I had to reapply often, Granted, I had lunch and was drinking out a water glass throughout the day, the color did transfer a good amount, but when not eating or drinking, the color lasted a lot longer. It's an easy fix to apply more on though, especially since the product smells and looks so great!
I would recommend this product to a woman who is constantly on the go and is looking for easy applying lip colors!

detailedReviews 40: content: I tried out the Nude Flush Color and upon first applying the matte lipstick to my lips I noticed that it came out pretty glossy and started to become upset because this is supposed to be a matte liquid lipstick. Upon trying it several more times with the same results and wearing it for a long period of time I looked into the product more and found that it can be worn glossy or matte depending on your preference. To make it matte you would need to dab it with a cloth . I personally would prefer that it just come matte and not glossy because I feel like you loose some of the product during the dabbing of it and would like not to have to take the extra step. I see how some people could like it tho to be able to change it up. I feel like a lot of people don't know that you have to do this and think that the product doesn't work (which was almost the case for me) The colors of the products are beautiful matte or glossy and stay on for a long time. The texture and the feel of the lipstick on your lips is light and smooth and doens't over dry like some matte liquid lips do. Also this lipstick has a pleasant scent. For the price point (which is way cheaper than most liquid matte lips) I think this is a great product I just wish I knew that it could be worn both ways from the begining to avoid the confusion.

detailedReviews 41: content: I have been a fan of matte lip color since being introduced to it by a close friend a year ago. I tend to gravitate towards matte lip crayons and lip glosses. I received a sample of Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid in Nude Flush to try out. The color in the tube is a little more beige than it appears on screen. I was pleasantly surprised at the natural light pink color when applied. It went on smooth and absorbed and dried quickly. The applicator is bigger than others I've used. It is longer and more rectangular, but it allows you to get your whole lip covered in color in one pass. This color does not boast any sort of long wear or all day wear. I applied it before work and my morning coffee to put it to the test. I was pleasantly surprised after lunch time (6 hours later) to still see a hint of pink. The lingering color withstood eating and drinking throughout the morning. It did leave my lips a little dry, but that is true of any matte color. As a woman in my late 20's, I tend to associate lip gloss with my younger years of exploring makeup and learning the ins and outs. Recently, I have gravitated towards lip crayons for their simplicity. The Maybelline New York Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid has given me an interest in re-exploring glosses and liquids of 2016.

detailedReviews 42: content: I had first tried out this product when they had first come out and wasn't too into them. But recently I was able to test them out for free and my opinion has changes quite a bit. I received two colors:35,Rebel Red &&10.Nude Flush! I LOVED both of these colors. Nude flush is a pinky nude and rebel red is a bright red!The product does say it's a matte but honestly I dont really think it is. That's why the first time i tried this product i didn't like it. I was expecting a completely dried up product on my lips. But maybe thats where the "Vivid" part comes in. Its kind of matte but it looks like the gloss has life. Not too much life but it's living it up.It does transfer pretty easily, obviously because it never really sets but it's not at all sticky.Although you can pat it with a little bit of tissue paper and it will simmer down the shine on the product. Doesn't dry out my lips but if you do have dry lips some of the colors might enhance the dry patches.I usually only put one coat of the product because the more you put on the shinier it will obviously be. Over all I really liked this product I would definitely buy it again and i would recommend it to family friends and to you. Especially for people who are just staring with matte lippies and dont want to go straight to matte I think these would be perfect for them!

detailedReviews 43: content: I received this item for testing purposes. I received this product for free but all opinions are my own. The Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid Color is a product that I would not have necessarily purchased on my own. I would consider myself to be a basic but willing learn beginner to makeup. Immediately as I received this product I love the packaging. It is very compact very easy to throw in the purse and I love that I am able to see the color that I have. I love the doe foot applicator which is a little bit larger than what I am used to using but at the same time I love having a doe foot applicator or a brush any day. I was immediately blow away by how just a small application is so opaque, they were not kidding when they said vivid. When applying the product I would say that it starts off as a demi matte I initially tried with two swipes and found that it takes just a bit longer to dry. The only real issue I have with this product is that I found it really difficult to apply maybe because I am not experienced with a liquid lip color, I found that I had to use this product very slowly in order to avoid messing around the rest of my mouth. Overall I like the product and I believe that with more practice I will grow to love this product more and more because of the high quality.

detailedReviews 44: content: Overall, this is not the best lipstick I've had but I love both colors, they have great pigmentation, are super smooth, hydrating, nice packaging and moisturizing. I do feel though that the nude color had more of a matte finish than the red, although the Rebel Red was my favorite color. Nude Flush is a nice every-day lip hue that enhances my natural lip color, and the Rebel Red is warm-toned, which is bold and classy and works best with my skin tone as compared to the nude lipstick. Honestly, you can have the best of both worlds with this product because I do not consider these to be true matte lipsticks. On initial application they gave me more of a shine but once I followed the instructions with applying one layer, then blot with tissue It produced a really nice matte look that's not too bold. On the other hand, applying two layers gave me more of a satiny/creamy feel. I prefer it more as a matte finish so sticking to one application was best. Therefore, if you prefer a matte finish be sure to blot but if you prefer shine or a creamy finish be sure to layer up and skip the blotting. I received this product free for my honest review and opinions are my own.

detailedReviews 45: content: I tried out two colors (rebel road and nude flush).
Nude Flush is an absolutely beautiful pinky nude shade. It gave me a perfect natural look that I love to wear to work. The formula on these liquid lipsticks are very smooth and pigmented. I only needed one dip in the tube to coat both my upper and lower lips. I was very impressed. It does have a smell but it's not offensive at all and doesn't taste like anything either. This formula is not matte, does transfer and never dries completely. Despite these things, I still love the formula. I have dry lips so I can appreciate that this formula doesn't dry out my lips. The only thing that I wish would be that I didn't have to reapply so often. I definitely need to reapply after every meal. But I can deal with that because the color is so beautiful.
Rebel Road is a very beautiful true red shade. The formula is exactly the same as Nude Flush and performs the same way. However, I do not like this color as much because it is difficult to maintain. The color transfers very very easily to everything my lips touch and it smears easily (The same goes for Nude Flush but since it's nude it's easier to get away with). Wearing this color made me want to check the mirror every 5 seconds to make sure it didn't bleed or smear. I would definitely stick to the nude/lighter shades if you were to buy any of the colors.
Overall, I am going to keep wearing Nude Flush very often but I am going to pass on Rebel Road.

title: Beautiful pinky nude shade, smooth and pigmented formula
detailedReviews 46: content: I love matte lipstick.
I received #VividMatte Liquid Lipstick compliments of #Maybelline and #Influenster for test and review purposes.

title: Smooth and light application, super matte finish
detailedReviews 47: content: I tried both Nude Thrill and Rebel Red. I was expecting this to be a standard liquid lip, but it was more of a velvet lip cream. It is not transfer proof and that is the only reason it is not a five star product. The product was easy to apply as instructed. One thin layer of product went on smoothly and the applicator was easy to use. You can also dab your lips with a tissue to give the product an even more matte look, but it is still not completely transfer proof. The colors are very vivid, the pigment is lovely and opaque. Nude Thrill did not leave a stain, but Rebel Red left a slight pink stain after makeup remover was used. Nude thrill is slightly pinkish in tone. Still very nude, but has a slight dusty rose color to it (it is my favorite of the two). Rebel Red is a standard bright red. It looks slightly pink in photos I have seen online but does not pull pink at all on my lips. The formula was so smooth and felt great on my lips. The wear time was roughly 2 hours, but was cut down greatly if eating or drinking. Dabbing with a tissue helped with transfer, but it does dull the color a bit. Overall this is a great product. It would be an awesome product for someone who is looking for a matte finish without the awful drying feeling. Also great for anyone struggling with dry lips as the formula looks great on the lips! I paired the nude lip with a darker smokey eye and it was a gorgeous night look. The red paired so well with a more neutral eye. I tested the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid for free, but all opinions are my own.

detailedReviews 48: content: I have the shades Nude Flush and Rebel Red. I recieved these two lipsticks free from influenser for testing purposes.

detailedReviews 49: content: I got this liquid lipstick in two colors, Nude Flush and Rebel Road.
I received this product free to try, but all these opinions are my own, and I think this is a high-quality lipstick at a good price.

detailedReviews 50: content: I like this lipstick a lot. I don’t wear this shade too often but I would consider trying other shades in the future.

detailedReviews 51: content: I have never used a liquid matte lipstick before and they have come up with a great formula. These lipsticks are pretty in color, creamy and not too sticky on the lips. They are pigmented, long lasting and doesn’t have a bad smell. I am very shocked at how great they are and that they don't wear off as much during the day. They do rub off a bit as you drink or eat, as most do. Price wise I think is decent and we always have Maybelline deals in store and coupons to cut the cost.

detailedReviews 52: content: When I received the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid in the mail, I was very eager to try it out. I received the Vivid Matte Liquid’s in Nude Flush and Rebel Red. The Nude Flush was the *perfect* better than lips/pinky nude color for me. The Rebel Red was a bright, but not too bright, rich red color.
My first impression when I applied the product was that it had a strong perfume smell. It didn’t bother me, but my mom who is very sensitive to smells just swatched it on her hand and said she could barely stand it because the smell was so strong.
Overall, I would say the wear was average – it wasn’t long wearing by any means, but it wasn’t like your typical lip gloss that if you sneeze it comes off. After a few hours, I noticed that it faded a little bit, and at the three to four-hour mark is when I felt that I needed to reapply it. It was also at the four-hour mark when I could see a line forming around the outer edges of my lips. It wasn’t as noticeable to me with the Nude Flush color since it was very similar to my natural lip color, but with the Rebel Red, you could see a strong red line around my lips #notattractive.
This product claims to be a matte finish, I am not a matte finish kind of girl when it comes to lips, so the fact that it was in-between a matte finish and a gloss finish didn’t bother me. If you are looking for a super matte finish product then this is probably not the best product for you.
Finally, going back to the strong perfume smell, I ultimately had to stop using this product because whenever I applied it to my lips I would experience a numbing sensation throughout my lips. I then looked up an article on Paula’s Choice about makeup products containing perfume; the article stated that products with perfume could cause irritation in your skin. The article also stated that if you continue to use a product that irritates your skin that it could cause permanent damage to your skin. So, in a nutshell, even though I loved the product and the colors on my lips, I concluded that because of the tingling sensation I got from using the product that I would stop using the product in order to prevent damage to my skin.

title: Strong perfume smell, numbing sensation on lips
detailedReviews 53: content: I received two different shades of the Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid lipsticks free in order to test and review the products. The shades I received were (10) Nude Flush and (35) Rebel Red. The colors are absolutely gorgeous and I was happy to see that I was sent a wearable nude and a bright, bold red in order to compare and contrast different looks with the same formula. Upon opening the lipsticks, there is a scent (not an offensive and strong scent, but there is one there) that is like a mix of chemicals and floral perfume that a grandmother might wear...definitely different from any other lipstick product I have ever come across. Personally, I prefer liquid lipsticks that smell slightly sweet or that have no scent at all. I first decided to try the Nude Flush shade. I applied one relatively thick but even layer to my lips and waited for it to "matte-down". It didn't appear to be dry until about 10 minutes after applying the product, and still, when I moved my lips around, I found that the product slips around on the lips very badly. I wouldn't call this a matte formula at all; it definitely feels more like a cream finish and it definitely transferable, even after allowing it to set. It completely comes off in a matter of minutes, whether you blot your lips with a tissue or not. I did however find that when I tested the Rebel Red shade out, a hint of a red stain was left behind after wearing the product for several hours (with plenty of repeated applications needed to keep the lipstick from looking patchy throughout the day). With all of that said, I do not think that these Vivid Matte Liquids lipsticks are worth your time or money. There are some beautiful lip shades in the collection, but the formula, finish, and integrity of these lipsticks are absolutely awful. I would definitely look into NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams instead because they not only look gorgeous, have similar packaging, and are cheaper, but are also cruelty-free!

detailedReviews 55: content: For some reason I reached for this product a lot. It wasn’t really a typical matte liquid lipstick in formula at all, but it came out as one of the first liquid lipsticks at the drugstore and I was so excited to try it. These stained which was giving that long wearing effect, but it wasn’t really long wearing. I would describe the formula similar to the NYX Matte lip creams just not as good. I still liked these though because they weren’t drying, they were still pretty, and still wearable. Unlike liquid lipsticks these did transfer and they did almost look shiny (not a gloss shiny just a sheen). One thing I really disliked about this product was the smell!! They literally smell like gasoline which is super odd and they give this sort of tingling almost numb feeling to the lips as well. I don’t recommend unless you like something a little less drying and don’t mind smelling gasoline for a few minutes (it does go away shortly after applying).

detailedReviews 56: content: I'm not super big on this liquid lipstick at all, which is a bummer because it was so cheap and the colors are so beautiful. I got it in a light pink, nudish shade that is so so beautiful especially for spring and summer. The pros of this product is that the packaging is really neat and nice, the applicator makes it easy to apply the product to your lips, the color is super pigmented and pretty, the product smells really good, and it does last for a good amount of time. Butttt, the cons of this product definitely outweigh the pros for me sadly :/ I found it super hard to get the lipstick to no be streaky and sheer because the formula is not good at all. You have to put a couple coats on to get the pigment that you want without it being streaky. It also says it is a MATTE liquid lipstick, but it does not dry matte at all or even really dry for that matter. It acts more like a lip gloss, which is not what I wanted when buying this product because it claimed it was matte. If you want a pretty lip gloss, then this would be the product for you but it is definitely not matte at all. I will not be repurchasing, which is a shame :/

detailedReviews 57: content: I’ve been searching for a grey lipstick and picked this up in Sinful Stone this summer. I haven’t used it more than a few times because I really am not keen on it. My first issue is that it claims to be matte but it certainly isn’t. It’s has a thick, mousse-like texture; reminiscent of a thick gloss. It isn’t uncomfortable but it also isn’t what they advertised. The lasting time was ok. A couple of hours, but I found myself constantly checking because my lips get very slippery and I thought I was getting product all over my face. The second issue is that the color goes on very patchy. I have to apply many layers which just makes the lipstick thicker and even sticker than the initial application and it still doesn’t even out completely. The third issue is the smell. It’s extremely perfumey, to the point where you can taste it. It either goes away, or maybe I just got used to it, but then when you rub your lips together you get some of that perfume taste and it all comes rushing back. Sinful Stone itself is a gorgeous color and exactly the shade I was looking for, which makes the entire experience even more disheartening because I never use this.

detailedReviews 58: content: First off, shout out to Influ enster for sending me two of these lipsticks so I could try them. I was able to try both the Nude Flush and Rebel Red and I really loved the color of both and the texture was very smooth and dried nicely without making my lips feel dry. When you first apply it the lipstick is super creamy and shiny, and you can leave it that way if your wish. But if you "kiss a tissue" or blot your lips, instant matte!
Rebel Red is a gorgeous blue red while still being a subtle red, a total Taylor Swift red color honestly. The color doesn't really set matte, even after blotting and letting it dry my lips still had a very shiny finish to them. It was also a tad bit disappointing when it comes to staying power. I want to say it lasted about 2 maybe 3 hours max. Very disappointing because I loved this color so much!! Maybe if I put a matching liner underneath it might last longer but I'll have to experiment with it.
It is important to note that I did not touch up the lipstick during the days I wore it in order to truly test the staying power.
Altogether I was equally impressed with both lipsticks, the Vivid Matte lipsticks do not disappoint in the payout aspect, but the lasting power and promise of "Vivid matte" were not brought with Rebel Red, but the color is still amazing, for me personally it is the first red lipstick I've found that works well with my skin tone. Most reds just do not look right on me, or at least I don't like how they look. I just really wish that it had lasted longer.
The lipstick applied very smoothly and the applicator is a small doe foot which is perfect for precise application. The great thing about them applying so creamy is that if you happen to mess up and smudge your lip line a bit it is very easy to clean up.
Again, I was sent this lipstick free in order to review but that does not affect my thoughts or views what so ever. I pride myself on my 100% honest and unbiased review on everything I review. Free or not.

detailedReviews 59: content: Okay so straight up, I HATE this product. Points I like, the colour.. I adore the colour, it's a gorgeous nude with pink/peachy undertones, so incredibly pretty. The texture is great, creamy and it's super matte, dried down nicely compared to other reviews I read. The price is great, the size is quite small it's only 5ml which I feel could be better. The doe tip applicator is basic like most. It's highly pigmented and I didn't have any issues with it being streakym but again it's a nude colour, nudes tend to not be as streaky as a darker colour like purples. However, The scent is the strongest, most chemical smell I have EVER smelled. I had it on for two hours and the smell was so awful I had to remove it because it was giving me a total headache. It's the worst thing I have ever experienced while wearing a new lipstick. There is 10 other shades. I wanted so much to love it since the packaging is cute, the colour is adorable, it's highly pigmented the formula seems wonderful.. But I just can't, the chemical smell does me in it's so awful.

detailedReviews 60: content: I've only recently decided that I like matte lipsticks but it has to be just the right shade with the perfect amount of staying power before I will purchase it. I received the Vivid Matte Liquid lipstick in Vivid Red and Nude Flush to test and review. I actually really love the Nude Flush, it complements my skin tone really well and I like the red but it's not really thick enough, even with several applications to be a great red. While neither shade seems to actually be matte, they have a decent amount of staying power.
I was actually very disappointed when I read that only one swipe over the lips would be matte and a second would make it creamy...I generally apply lipstick like I do nail polish, using 2-3 coats before I am satisfied. I tried one coat of each shade in an attempt to get the matte look, but neither shade achieved success. They both had decent staying power when just wearing them to church for a few hours or out to run errands but didn't hold up to the eating and drinking test at all.
Would I buy these? In a pinch, most likely, but I'll probably stick to my MAC or SmashBox brands for the perfect matte lips. I will definitely use these for a creamy appearance, however, as they did succeed at that finish. I would most likely recommend these but just not for a matte look.

detailedReviews 61: content: So first off I had good expectations for this particular line considering Maybelline is my favorite drug store brand. I am obsessed with their matte foundation, matte powder, their whole line of mascara's and eyeliners but this matte lip line is just a big mess. Obviously the tube is very cute which initially attracted me to it even though their color selection isn't my favorite, I got it in the shade "Rebel Red". Starting off with my first bad reaction was about the smell. It smells perfumey and not in a pleasant way. Like your grandmothers old, out of date perfume kind of way. It's applicator brush is also an inch longer than it needs to be and it feels like I have no control over how much I'm putting on which sucks because the formula doesn't even go on matte at all! It's vivid I'll give them that but also extremely runny and messy, Whenever I would accidentally go over my natural lip line and try to wipe it off it would get everywhere. Thankfully I wasn't wearing anything nice during trying this out otherwise I would have gotten it all over my clothes. It also tastes horrible like someone just squirted perfume into my mouth. It leaks off your lips and sits on your teeth and that happened to me not even a minute after applying this mess. The fact that it practically lies about being a matte liquid lipstick when it most certainly is not irks me the most. I believe Maybelline should just take this whole line off the market, reformulate and call me back when they have an actual working matte lip line.

detailedReviews 62: content: If you are looking for a product that dries down completely matte, this is not it. I found that the best way to get a matte finish with this product is by blotting it a little bit and then applying a second coat. The colors are definitely vivid but I do find to achieve this you should apply two coats. The good side of this is that it does not tug at your lips. It feels very comfortable unlike other liquid lipsticks and has a velvety texture. It does not have any stickiness after it sets (it takes a while to set so if this bothers you this may not be a great product for you). It is not too long lasting, after it completely sets It lasts a decent time on your lips, but it is not completely transfer proof. It also has a minty sensation feel to the lips after applying which I really enjoyed. I think that this is great for anyone who does not like the dryness of a traditional liquid lipstick. The color selection is fantastic so you are sure to find a shade you love. Other than that, the only other bad thing I have to say is the scent/taste. The product has a perfume-like smell to it that does transfer into your mouth if you are not careful. This leaves you with a perfume taste in your mouth. This was the first thing I noticed when I tried this product but I have been able to avoid this by being more careful in application.

title: Not a product that dries down completely matte
detailedReviews 63: content: I received two shades (Nude Thrill and Rebel Red) in exchange for my honest review. And honestly? I wasn't very impressed.
Let's start with finish. These were clearly described as mattes. I myself tend to prefer cream finishes to matte, so it was a good thing that these really had a cream finish, not a truly matte one. From application to reapplication three hours later, they remained somewhat creamy and slippery, never really drying down the way a matte does.
Unfortunately, that greatly impacted wear-time, which was about three hours before the product began to wear away from the inner portions of the lips, leaving an unflattering ring around the lipline. Rebel Red fared a little better than Nude Thrill, as it was a little bit staining (a bonus, in my book), but compared to many other matte formulas on the market, it wasn't so great, especially considering Rebel Red applied unevenly and required some fussing to get an even finish.
Color-wise, Nude Thrill is a warm nude that almost went peachy on my NW-25 skin. Not my most flattering look. Rebel Red is a warm, orange-undertone bright red very suitable for summer.
What I disliked the most about this product, however, was the scent. Overwhelming and perfumey, a rank scent that almost bordered on a rank taste. The product smells cheap and of chemicals. It's the same scent Maybelline uses in their Color Elixir range, and it's just so gross.
Maybelline was late to the liquid matte game, and it's a shame the finished product wasn't worth the wait.

detailedReviews 64: content: I received the Color Sensational Matte Liquid Lip Color in the Rebel Red (No. 35) and in the Nude Flush (No. 10) shade, which arrived right on time because I had actually been searching for a nude lip product and because there's no such thing as too many red lip products in my vocabulary. However, I think I was much more generous in my Instagram review. As I've continued to use these, my opinion shifted from mostly positive to neutral. The pros? They provided full coverage, they function almost like a lip stain, and the colors are pigmented and pretty as well. Also, since my lips are small and thin, the Red Rebel shade added some depth and volume to them. The cons? Following application, they don't instantly have a matte finish. It takes a minute or two. I ordinarily wouldn't mind the added moisture because my lips have the tendency to feel like a desert sometimes. However, if a product advertises itself as matte, then it should certainly be just that. I live in the Sunshine State and with all of the heat and humidity, any matte lip product is a saving grace. In addition, the product does not last as long as it should and it has a sticky consistency when dabbing. And something else I forgot to mention in my review on the ULTA website for this product is that the first time I applied it (after applying a coat of lip balm as I usually do before applying any lip product), I experienced an unusual sensation on my lips, almost stinging. This could simply be an isolated case because I have both sensitive skin and sensitive lips, but it's certainly something to be wary of. I've used it a few more times and I haven't really experienced what I experienced during the first application, but it still doesn't feel as a regular lip product should. It's not the worst lip product I've ever used, but it's also not the best. I think I'll stick with my Korean lip products.

detailedReviews 65: content: I had been thinking about purchasing this product for the longest time because I'm such a fan of matte liquid lipsticks. I'm honestly glad I didn't spend my own money on this (I had received this product complimentary via Maybelline for testing purposes) because I'm pretty disappointed. I was sent two colors - Nude Flush and Rebel Red. First, the lipstick never really seemed to dry "matte" on me. This honestly wasn't a huge deal breaker for me because sometimes super matte lipsticks dry out my already dry lips. I kind of liked the not super matte creamy feel to the lipstick. It wasn't sticky at all either which is a huge plus because I HATE feeling like my lips are sticky. The other downside to this product is that the different colors seemed to have different textures. The Rebel Red one was a lot more watery and didn't go on as pigmented. I felt like I had to apply more than one coat for it to look even on my lips. The Nude Flush, however, had a mousse-like texture and was more likely to look even with only a one layer application. I wore these colors with a lip liner and they still seemed to bleed a good bit (especially the Rebel Red). That could be due to my dry lips, though. These lipsticks are also NOT long-wearing. They faded off pretty quickly. Overall, I like the colors and that the lipstick isn't super matte (even though the name is a little misleading), but it's definitely disappointing that the textures are a little off and that they don't last very long. I did receive these products free for testing purposes, but all opinions are my own and true.

For the price, I didn't mind picking up something just to try it out. I usually gravitate towards cool toned brown shades, so like a greige color. I've been wanting to try a gray lipstick for awhile, so I got this in the shade Sinful Stone. I love the shade, but this formula is a huge miss. It does not dry matte at all. As others have said, it is more glossy, which I don't mind, I just don't think it should be labeled as matte. It applies very streaky to the point where you have to apply so many coats that it doesn't dry down and stays so tacky that it's uncomfortable. Maybelline got the shades perfect, but really missed with the formula.
EDIT: I’ve tried using this product again a few times and every time I use it, it makes my lips tingly and numb, and then when I take it off my lips burn. Not sure what ingredients are causing this reaction or if this is an allergic reaction on my end or what, but I am not a fan at all.

title: Missed the mark, does not dry matte at all
detailedReviews 67: content: I wanted to like this product. I really did. When I learned I would be getting two complimentary shades of Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid to review, I was excited. I love matte lip products. Unfortunately, at the $6-$7 price point, you really do get what you pay for. When I used it for the first time, I couldn't help but notice the packaging felt really cheap. The black plastic cap on the wand is thin and feels brittle, like it might break after tumbling around in a purse. The applicator wand itself is huge. It's best to use a small amount of this product to generate that matte-ish effect (more on that later) - but it's hard to use only a little when the wand is so big and unwieldy.
When applied, it's a creamy texture, and it's certainly pigmented. The colors are lovely, despite the fact that the nude was not flattering on my skin tone. But here's the biggest problem - they're not matte. They do lose some of their sheen, true, but they do not dry to matte. (Sorry, but if you have to blot, add powder, or anything else to get to matte, the product you're using isn't). They're also extremely transferable, which in itself is not so much of a problem (reapplication is no big deal), but this also allows the color to bleed outside of your lips and smudge easily. To rectify, you'd need a lip liner, which is not available with these products.
Overall, I wouldn't recommend until they adjust the formula. Spend the extra $ and get something that you won't have to reapply so frequently and is has a legitimate matte finish.
Got this for free & opinions are mine.

detailedReviews 68: content: I was sent both Nude Flush and Rebel Red complimentary for testing purposes, however my opinion is entirely my own. I have really mixed feelings about these products. These are not matte, but if you really want to fix that you could always top it off with a translucent powder; the title is very misleading, and if you're set on a matte finish these may not be the best product for you. Both colors were very pigmented, and the colors themselves were very vibrant- perfect for summer. Rebel Red, in particular, has stunning pigmentation. The formula is very similar to the Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lipcolor. It's creamy and applies evenly. My biggest issue, however, was that it didn't do well with my sensitive lips. After about five minutes of wearing Rebel Red my lips began burning. I continued to wear it though, as I felt I needed to test it's longevity before writing up a review. Though it bothered my lips, my best friend didn't have any problems. I asked her to try one of mine on to see how comfortable it was for her. She doesn't have sensitive lips what-so-ever, so if you don't have many problems with lip products you should be good to go. They are quite long wearing. They're not as long wearing as the average liquid lipstick, but they definitely stayed on for a good few hours and even left a nice stain after removed. The longevity is reminiscent of the Colourpop Ultra Satin Lip. Overall, they're pretty good products, but if you're wanting a matte finish or have really sensitive lips these aren't for you.

detailedReviews 69: content: Sadly, I wanted to love this product so much and I just didn't. I have both the Rebel Red and Nude Flush shades. I LOVE matte lip products and use them frequently instead of gloss or satin finish lip products. I tried the Rebel Red shade first. I'm a musician and sing multiple times a week so I'm always looking for staying power and something vivid so I was excited... This product did not stay on at all! As I applied it, it goes on in a vibrant color and looks decent, but the texture is strange. It's very greasy and seems like it would be thick, but when you rub your lips together it doesn't really stay on. The instructions even say to blot with a tissue to add to the matte look and that just took most of the product off when just blotting once very lightly. Needless to say, I wore this color for about 2 hours and with being cautious not to smudge or wipe the product off, I looked like I was wearing a thin lip stain. This product felt like the lipstick you get in little girls' makeup kits. Just kind of cheap. I tried the Nude Flush shade second and felt the same way. I was hoping maybe the texture was just off on the other shade, but this one also felt super greasy and thin. I will say that both colors I received look great in the bottle! I love the packaging and idea, the product just seems cheap to me. I've found matte lipstick for $2 that was far better than this. detailedReviews 70: content: I bought this product because I wanted to try more drugstore makeup and thought it was a beautiful shade for the fall. I purchased the shade "Grey Envy". The only pros are that it does stay true to color and the smell is pleasant and has a nice vanilla scent. However, once I got home, I swatched it twice and it did not fully dry on my arm, despite waiting for 20-30 minutes without touching anything. The swatch became almost instantly streaky. It also faded away quickly and left a very faint stain on my arm. Upon trying it on my lips, I again waited for it to dry down - it never did. The color is streaky on my lips and it again never became fully matte. I did not use any lip liner or any lip primer. It started to bleed outside of my lip line. It transfers heavily and fades away quickly. If you want a truly matte liquid lipstick, I 100% would not recommend this. I would recommend it if you have very dry lips and want a beautiful color that you can use for a quick touch up. I also bought the L'Oreal Infallible Matte Lip Paint and it worked flawlessly. After almost 2 hours it is still on my lips with true color. I would recommend that to anyone looking for a great drugstore matte liquid lip.

detailedReviews 71: content: I tested out the shades Nude Flush (10) and Rebel Red (35). First off, the colors are true to the packaging, which is nice for a drugstore product where often the color in the bottle, is not what it looks like on the lips. Nude Flush is a pinky based nude while Rebel Red is a true red. Both colors went on easily, very hydrating and comfortable on the lips. However, like with most drugstore lip products I have found, that the comfort means it is not quite as lasting. If you eat, drink or do anything that could involve transfer, comes right off. The brighter colors don't go on as pigmented with one swipe so you can't really achieve the matte look, as more swipes gives it a glossier finish. Even with the one swipe, they never fully dry down to a matte finish, it's more a demi-matte that easily transfers off. While reapplying, it doesn't go on clumpy, however the frequency of needing to reapply makes it inconvenient.
My biggest complaint however is the taste and smell. It almost has a soapy smell and taste to it that does not go away. I couldn't stand the taste to the point that after a couple of minutes, I find myself taking it off because it tastes like I have a bar of soap in my mouth.
Overall, if the taste and smell doesn't bother you, they are not bad for drugstore lip products. However, I think it's worth saving up for something on that's more high end that will last longer and not taste weird.
I did receive these products free, so all thoughts and opinions expressed are 100% my own.

detailedReviews 72: content: I love a matte lip. My primary complaint with liquid mattes is that they tend to either have amazing color and coverage but are insanely drying or the color and coverage isn't so great but your lips don't feel like the Sahara. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid offers great color and coverage while moisturizing. Shocking, I know. Maybelline suggests two different ways to apply it: 1 thin coat for a bold matte lip or 2 coats for a creamier, moussey finished lip. Since I love a matte lip I went with one coat. While the color and coverage were great (I tried it with two different shades - Nude Flush and Rebel Red) the finish wasn't a true matte; it was more of a really dull satin or a velvet finish. This was, for obvious reasons, disappointing since I was expecting a true matte finish. And while it was nice that it wasn't drying the down side was that it didn't set which meant that it came off every time I took a drink or ate, so I had to keep reapplying. If you aren't dead serious about how matte your matte is (like I am) and don't mind reapplying then this is a great choice. But if you're looking for something without a even the slightest hint of shine, an uber-matte, then take a pass because this isn't for you.

detailedReviews 73: content: So far, this is what I would consider an average matte liquid lipstick. It has pretty good coverage and I really do love the color I got (Nude Thrill, #5), but there are a few issues with this liquid lipstick. First, I've noticed this product can be a little drying. It isn't awful, but it certainly was frustrating to find my lips feeling like they were needing some hydration even after I had applied my favorite chapstick prior to applying this liquid lipstick. Another issue that I had was how long this product lasted on my lips. I've tried many other brands and they often stood up to drinking and eating throughout the day without needing to reapply too often- unfortunately for this Maybelline product I was having to almost instantly apply the first time I drank out of my water bottle. It is really a shame, because the color and the smoothness of this matte liquid lipstick is just gorgeous. I would like to try other colors and see if I notice the same issue, as well as if I notice any cracking. I don't know if I'd be willing to spend my own personal money on this product again though to test this out, I feel spending my own money on this one tube was enough as it is.

detailedReviews 74: content: This was a line I really wanted to enjoy, however, there wasn't much to like about these other than the colors being true. I tested both Rebel Red and Nude Flush for about 45 days and I felt the same about both. I expected them to be vivid and mad, but they did not meet those expectations. The colors are indeed vivid, but not at all matte. I noticed a lot of people didn't like the wand, but I found this one was great for getting very close to the natural lines of my lips without having to use a secondary brush or wipe product away from the wand. Unfortunately the cons seemed to outweigh any pros.
If the colors appeal to you but you want a lipstick that will do its description justice I recommend looking into another Maybelline line or even trying a different brand altogether. I own two shades that are extremely similar, if not outright the same, and they are both by NYX. For Rebel Red I recommend NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in SMLC01 Amsterdam; for Nude Flush I recommend NYX Lip Lingerie in 08 Bedtime Flirt. The former is genuinely soft matte, whereas the latter is ultra matte.
These products were received complimentary in exchange for an honest, unbiased review; all opinions and images are my own. Testing was done on both myself and my sister for both shades; she is pictured.

detailedReviews 75: content: I think it's incredibly misleading of Maybelline to label these the way they did because it sounds like they're just trying to con people who are into the matte liquid lipstick trend into buying these. I bought six because the colors were fantastic but I'm pretty disappointed.
The taste and smell of this lip product is just unreal in how bad it is. They smell like the Color Elixir glosses (which I also dislike) except fifty times stronger. It's a heavy perfume scent that just tastes terrible. The scent lingers for hours and the taste never goes away.
These ARE comfortable, I'll give them that. They aren't drying. They also aren't matte. Maybelline even recommends blotting these with a tissue. Yes, that WILL mattify these but I shouldn't have to do that so that they work the way they claim! They never fully dry down or set and they're not transfer-proof. I didn't have feathering issues with these but a lip liner will still prolong the wear time.
I like the shade selection and the feel of them, but I would not repurchase or recommend them to anyone, due to the misleading name and the strong smell and taste.
(I received two shades of these for testing/reviewing purposes BUT I had actually already purchased the two shades they sent me! All opinions are my own, of course.)

detailedReviews 76: content: As many others are saying, this product is not matte, but leaves a glossy shine on your lips. Although the colors are lovely (I got this liquid lip in the shade "Possessed Plum" and it's gorgeous), the formula is very streaky, takes multiple coats to become opaque, and the smell is bordering on sickening. It smells like a bag of Victorian smelling salts! The color does compliment my skin tone very, very nicely, but I'm not a gloss person and this is most definitely pretty glossy.
I will say I have managed to make it matte-ish enough, but it's a bit messy. When you put it on and it's streaky and glossy, pat it down into a uniform color with your fingers, then repeat. It dries almost totally matte, only the inside is still sticky, and leaves a nice lip stain behinds once it wears off. It works for me xD
Overall, I'll be buying more of these. I can make them matte enough to satisfy me, and the selection of colors is awesome. Just be warned, you'll need some extra effort to make these supposedly matte lipsticks matte!

detailedReviews 77: content: I remember when these first came out. They were one of the very first liquid lipsticks to come out in the drugstore and I was excited because spending $20 on a lipstick wasn’t something I wanted to get used to, especially when it came to expanding the range of shades I owned. I bought a nude shade for around 5-6 dollars. It didn’t dry drown the second I applied it, so I thought that maybe it needed more time to dry, which was fine because it gave me more leeway, and quick dry matte ARE harder to work with. I waited five minutes and it was still just as wet as it was when I initially applied it. I ended up wiping it off and trying it again with a thinner layer of product, thinking that there was an error in my application and waited 15 minutes. The lipstick was still wet after waiting 15 minutes. After messing around with this product, I learned that sometimes paying $20 for a lipstick is worth it and I haven’t picked this product up ever since.

detailedReviews 78: content: This was my first actual matte lipstick that I bought. I bough "berry boost", "pink charge", and "nude flush" from ulta when they were having the buy 2 get 1 free deal. I wanted a lipstick that would be great for everyday wear and not immediately wear off. I love the colors in this collection! They are so vibrant! However I do not think that some of the colors are true to what they say they are. When I wore "berry boost", the color on my lips came out a lot brighter than what the product in the packaging looks like. I thought it was going to be a bit of a deeper purple. Also, many people have been complaining that the smell of this product resembles perfume. I have a bad nose so it doesn't bother me, but if you are sensitive to smell, I do not recommend purchasing this product. Many people have also said that this product is glossy or dries semi matte. However, this is not the case for me. My lipstick has dried matte within minutes of application and lasted me about 8 or 9 hours. Though when I hit the 8/9 hour mark, I realized that my lips were extremely dried out. I recommend wearing a lip balm underneath or on top of this product so that it doesn't completely dry out your lips and damage them. Other than that, I love this product and would think it'd be great if they came out with more colors! You can't beat their price!

detailedReviews 79: content: [[ Disclaimer: I received this product free, for testing purposes. That being said, the opinions are completely honest and 100% my own ]]
I was so excited when I received this product, as I have an affinity for matte products, and matte liquid lipsticks? I was dying for one that would feel nice, and that wouldn't be drying on my lips as ones had in the past. The colours I received were beautiful, Nude Flush is my MLBB shade, and I adore it. It was perfect for work where I have one manager who isn't too fond of the bright shades, and generally, it gave an overall wonderfully natural look. The other shade I received was Rebel Red, and being a red lip addict, this is the one I was the most excited about.
Now, to start with the negative, since there's only one, I have to say. THIS PRODUCT IS NOT MATTE. You can mattify it somewhat by blotting, however, even then it's more like a cream lipstick. It is not kiss or transfer proof either, which I've come to expect with matte lipsticks.
THAT BEING SAID.
As a liquid lipstick, one that isn't intended on being matte, but to simply feel like a lipstick? I love it.
For me, I only needed one dip into the tube to get a full, opaque application on my lips. I like the applicator itself, it's a long, flat sponge that is excellent for outlining your lips and getting into the corners. The colour stays long, they're beautiful, and as they wear off, they leave behind a wonderful stain.
I do like these, a lot, and I want more. It's just it wasn't matte.

detailedReviews 80: content: The colours of these s are really nice. That said, they come off very easily and transfer onto everything your lips touch. Definitely not one to wear when with your partner unless they want the same colour lips as you. I would say what do you expect for 7 dollars or so, but the collection costs the same amount and the quality is stellar. However, if you’re desperate for a cheap lipstick and are in love with one of these shades, there are ways to make it work. Apply a thin layer evenly so as to avoid having loads of excess lipstick that comes off easily. Also gently press a tissue to your lips so that most of it that would transfer comes off. The colour may be less intense, but it will be more long lasting that way. No kissing, no eating, little drinking, preferably with straw. The good thing is the texture is amazing- very velvety and non-drying. So if your lips aren’t dry already, you don’t need moisturizer underneath (don’t moisturize or again, it will come off more easily), and it won’t be a pain to reapply because of its soft texture.

detailedReviews 81: content: I rarely write reviews, but this product is so atrociously bad, I had to add mine into the mix - the fact that it doesn't have a one star review shocks me.
I purchased this Vivid Matte Liquid Lipstick in shade 18, Orange Obsession. I thought the bright orange seemed like a really unique color, and something fun to wear this time of year.
1. The smell. Throwing up inducingly bad. It smells like rotting roses and perfume. The smell does not go away.
2. The application. The product applies super patchy, and even with applying multiple layers it never became opaque. Could not get smoothness or uniformity, the product remained patchy.
3. Emphasis on lip lines and dryness. I have never used a liquid lipstick that emphasizes and highlights the lines on your lips, or any dryness, regardless of how small.
4. The texture. It was so sticky and sloppy, and it never dried down. I removed it after 10 minutes because it looked atrocious, and it had not dried down in the slightest.
Ladies and gents, avoid at all costs. Such better options out there. Don't be swayed by a sale, deals, or unique colors. Horrendous product.

detailedReviews 82: content: These have an interesting formula unlike other matte lipsticks I've tried. They have an opaque yet translucent quality like the is matte pigment has been mixed into a gloss. One coat would be nice for people who want to dip their toe into bold colors but still be able to wear them in the day time. I find that blotting with a tissue as the instructions direct is paramount in getting a matte texture, if not they remain glossy. This also takes away a lot of the color, but another coat and blot works well to getting a match to the bottle. I've tried Nude Flush (my favorite out of the bunch, a my lips but better shade), Rebel Red and Vivid Violet. These stay on the glossy side so they aren't drying at all. They do have a slight smell and taste, like a mild perfume (more in the aftertaste.) These weren't what I was expecting, and compared to other matte formulas you may be disappointed. They have their own bonuses that I haven't seen in other formulas, in that they feel very moisturizing, are buildable, leave a nice stain behind and don't highlight dry skin patches. detailedReviews 83: content: This lipstick IS NOT matte. That’s my #1 qualm. It is advertised as matte but it’s not, it has a thick texture and satin finish. Never dries completely on the lip and the applicator along with the formula makes it hard to have a smooth, even application on the lips. Always comes out streaky and patchy, leaves a ring around my lips after a bit of wear, and you have to try extra hard to make it work or it looks like you’re a kid going overboard with your moms lipstick collection!
That being said, when you can make it work, it does look nice. Once it fades it stains my lips a bit with a nice color. The color selection of this collection is beautiful! It’s just not what I expected/was advertised which is sad because I really wanted to love it.

detailedReviews 84: content: First the GOOD things: This is the first liquid lipstick AND matte lipstick I've used, so it was a very new experience for me. The color is very pretty and, despite the fact that I don't wear pink lipsticks very often, I think the color flatters my fair skin. It applied well and did leave a matte finish, but it didn't become completely dry, which I think is kind of a good thing. Maybe it's personal preference, but I hate when my lips feel dry when there's product on them. Now the CONS: It did seem a little patchy, but after watching some makeup tutorials, I get the feeling you often need to apply more than one layer of liquid lipstick to get even coverage. More than anything though, THE TASTE AND SCENT IS TOO STRONG. It has a very strong, perfume-y scent, and even though I wasn't licking my lips at all, I could taste it. It was like I'd licked a bar of soap, it was so strong. I really want to wear this product more often because I think it's so pretty, but I'm worried the scent and taste will be intolerable.

detailedReviews 85: content: The colors I received were Rebel Red and Nude Flush, both very pretty colors in the tube. Nude Flush is a pretty pinky-nude, and Rebel Red is a blue-toned bright red. I can understand, with the trend in liquid lipsticks, why Maybelline has jumped on the bandwagon. But, a few things to consider:
1. These lip colors do not dry down matte. Maybelline does suggest applying a layer and blotting for a more matte effect. If you're looking for a liquid lipstick that does dry down matte and doesn't transfer, this product isn't for you. The name is a definite misnomer.
2. They smell... perfumy and weird. And that smell has a taste. I didn't find the fragrance all that appealing, honestly, and it lingered.
3. The doefoot applicator is long and a little awkward for precise application. It's not horrible, and this is a drug store product, it's just a little off the mark.
4. Nude Flush is really pretty and applied well. Rebel Red was kind of patchy and I had to go over it a couple times for even coverage. No bueno.
These do glide on very creamy and have a bit of a moussey texture that's not unpleasant, although if you get a little too much on it can feel a bit gloppy. Blotting helps, or rubbing your lips together a few times. There's a bit of a tingle to them, which I've heard described as a cooling effect, but it's not bad or unpleasant. These don't feel drying, which is a plus. But they're definitely not that long-wearing and will transfer when you eat or drink. Overall, an okay product, but probably not one I'd buy on my own, however if you're getting started with liquid lipsticks or don't want one that's ultra-matte (or matte at all) these are a good jumping off point.

detailedReviews 86: content: I liked the soft, plush feel of this lip colour. Applies like you would a gloss, but it's matte. Feels nice on. I received complements on this colour and I feel like it's very versatile. A nice nude for my natural work look; a trendy, sexy nude that complemented heavier makeup with dark smokey eyes. It smells lovely and the taste is reasonably pleasant for a lippy. However, I was really disappointed in how often I had to apply this. Not touching it, just talking, it was unnoticeable within 3hours, and I determined that it wore off unevenly. I had to reapply after eating or drinking anything because it would be left in a ring around the edges or completely gone. I tried it both with and without primer and/or filling my lips in with liner. There was little to no improvement to wear.
Overall, this is good for taking pictures, but is not practical for me for everyday use because of the necessity to reapply so very often. I personally do not recommend this product.

title: Disappointed in how often I had to reapply
detailedReviews 87: content: I received the Color Sensational Matte Liquid Lip Color in the Rebel Red (No. In addition, the product does not last as long as it should and it has a sticky consistency when dabbing. It's not the worst lip product I've ever used, but it's also not the best. I think I'll stick with my Korean lip products.

title: Doesn't instantly have a matte finish, sticky consistency
detailedReviews 88: content: I enjoyed both the Rebel Road and the Nude Flush products but the Nude washed me out (I am mixed).
The Rebel Road was bright and lovely but pulled quite a bit of orange which I preferred less than some other reddish mattes I have. For the price I think it is a great option. As others have indicated, it does have a somewhat identifiable perfume which can be irritating when it's applied despite being pleasant when you first open it. You only need a VERY small amount of the product to get the desired matte effect. Unfortunately the bottle and applicator doesn't make getting that small amount super easy; but it's doable. If you put on too much, it won't have the mattle look but will still create a nice color just with more of a cream lipstick finish. If you do put on too much, you can blot it to take some of the color off and reactivate the more matte look.
Overall I think it's a great product for the price, but not one to use without knowing what you're doing ahead of time!
I received the shades Nude Flush and Rebel Road for free for the purpose of reviewing them but the opinions above are my own!

title: Nude washed me out, Rebel Road pulled orange
detailedReviews 89: content: I got the Vivid Mattes in Nude Flush and Rebel Red. The colors are gorgeous and the formula is super creamy and goes on easy. I was disappointed to find that they aren't as matte as I had hoped (ColourPop, Jeffree Star, etc. are all more matte). The product instructions indicate that to get a matte finish one should apply a thin layer of color around the contours of the mouth and for a creamier moussier finish you can apply another layer on top. I found even with one layer it just was not very matte (in either color), but served as a beautiful lip stain.
I wore both colors throughout several meals and had to constantly reapply my lipstick and had A LOT of transfer onto glasses and utensils. That said, there was zero feathering and application was no fuss. I did not try either lipstick with a lipliner underneath so that my affect how long lasting the formula is.
Both colors were very scented, in fact they smelled like Clinique Happy and I had frequent flashbacks to middle school dances while wearing them.
All in all, if you're looking for a liquid matte lipstick I'd try something else but it's a great moisturizing liquid lipstick for the price. I got these for free but I may hit up the store and buy that fabulous purple color.

title: Not as matte as hoped, constant reapplication needed
detailedReviews 90: content: I now own two shades, the nude shade and the red one. I think the shades are pretty , though the pink nude didn't look great in my skin tone (I have yellow and pink undertones). Regardless, I like the consistency of the product as it applies evenly and smoothly. It has a mousse like consistency upon application. There isn't a bad scent either, which is a plus for those with sensitive noses like myself. I wore both products to work and for casual purposes. The finish of the product is a satin matte, unless you apply another layer for a glossier finish. The downsides of this product is it doesn't dry down with ease. For me, that means the increased likelihood for the product to smear during wear. The makes wearing the red something I'd only wear if I could apply powder over it to set it or if it was for a special occasion as it requires maintenance. For example, I wore it to work and when I noticed it eventually traveled outside the lip line, I then cleaned it up, but had a slight pink/red stain left behind on my skin. Additionally the wear time of the product is short lived especially when drinking and eating as there is easy transfer.
I recieved these products complimentary for review purposes.

title: Doesn't dry down with ease, smears during wear
detailedReviews 91: content: I received this product to test, but all opinions are my own!
I really wanted to like these...I love a good matte lip! But unfortunately, they did just not work for me. I'll break it down.
The good: Very creamy, definitely more of a soft matte. The colors are pretty and leave a stain to your lips, so even when they wear off, you'll still have some color. Now speaking of wearing off...
The bad: these do not last. They feel really creamy and almost velvety when they're on your lips, but that velvet textures seems to make it not adhere to your lips AT ALL. Run your finger over your lips, drink out of a straw, etc. and you'll see.
The ugly: the application!! I apply glosses and liquid lipsticks constantly, to the point where usually I don't even need a mirror anymore, but these were just a mess to apply for me! The applicator wants to be a doe foot, but it's too long (I saw one commenter say it was more of a doe paddle, which is 100% accurate). Even if you can get a handle on the applicator, this product just applies WAY too thick. There is no way to be light-handed. It gets smeared all over the place so easily, and when the product is that thick, it's never going to look matte. The only way I got this product to look matte is by blotting almost all of the application off, but then that begs the question: what's the point? I was also not a fan of the smell. I don't mind some fragrance in my makeup products, but this had a really strange sweet, yet floral scent. I can't really describe it, but I don't like it, and it lingers.

title: Do not work for me, messy to apply
detailedReviews 92: content: I got this because I love dark vampy colors. I got the color from this brand in #50 Possessed Plum on amazon for $3. I love the color, the applicator, and how smooth it is on the lips. The photo below is after 3 coats of the lipstick - still with uneven coverage. Unfortunately the cons outweigh the pro’s. Product applies streaky/patchy. It shows thin patchy like when you take a picture with flash from your phone back camera. It also clings to dry cracks on lips and make them look worse. The product is matte but it doesn’t dry out, it stays creamy. I’ve had it on for over 20 minutes and it’s still wet and transfers. You can use a translucent powder to make it matte. Color can build but it would still be uneven. Not my favorite formula from this line but the color is cute. I’ll probably use it as a gloss type over similar colors for shine. This color is WOC friendly. #maybelline #vampylips #liptick #lipsticklove #mymakeupbag #lipstickcollection #blackgirlmagic #makeup #mattelipstick #vampy #beauty

title: Applies streaky/patchy, clings to dry cracks on lips
detailedReviews 93: content: I love Maybelline but these two colors out of the line were horrible. It applies patchy because it's not opaque, it's not buildable. It just looks messy and horrible on its own. BUT with a liner it helps to make the lipsticks wearable!!!! I almost returned the product but I decided that since the liner helps 1000%, I'll just apply it that way. As you can see in the photos, I filled in my lips completely with the liner before applying! It's literally the only way you can wear this product. These colors do stain lips without the liner. I did hear that the other colors in the line are fine, but I'm good on trying them. I'm okay with just these two. I purchased on Amazon for about $3 each. If you don't mind applying liner then I recommend you try them. I love vampy lips that's why I chose these, I do love the colors itself. #beautyhaul #beauty #lipstick #mascara #eyeshadow #blackgirlmagic #makeup #maybelline #vampy #vamp #vampylips

title: Applies patchy, messy, horrible on its own
detailedReviews 94: content: I was very impressed with all the shade range of this lipstick, plus the colors of this product are super stunning it's really what drew me in! That being said, the formula is tacky and sticky, it NEVER dries down even after hours of waiting for it to dry, and trying to set it with a little setting powder. The color does last but the feeling of this product is was too uncomfortable for me to wear for long. It advertises as a matte, but does not look matte at all but rather looks and feels like a tacky lipgloss. Overall it's OKAY I've tried it out a few times in the shade Poet. It's not as pigmented as its rumored to be. I had very high hopes for this product that didn't pay off. But the colors are pretty and they do last if you can deal with all the other negatives of this product. If you are looking for a longwear lip product and this didn't work for you or disappointed you, try Rimmel Provocolips it stays in place all day and the formula isn't sticky or too dry.

It's too thick and the finish is very dull. It feels uncomfortable to me. The color doesn't suit fair completions. Makes me look paler. Don't like the scent either. Comes in packages of 1 or 2. Pigmentation is all wrong for me.

title: Too thick, dull finish, uncomfortable, don't like scent
detailedReviews 96: content: This product is one that I can’t quite decide about - nor do I love it but not do I hate it.
I purchased it at my local drugstore and was obsessed with the shade, such a lovely shade that I felt would suit my skin amazingly. The packaging is super simple and super cute, I love how it’s all open so you can see the shade perfectly. It’s affordable and easy to get at your local drugstores or online.
The product itself had a buttery texture almost that makes it feels nice and just glide onto your lips perfectly. The applicator for me wasn’t the best for applying it to my lips as it came out uneven, streaky and just not how I would want an applicator to put a product on my lips. Once on my lips it felt amazing, didn’t seem to make my lips look cracked or anything like that they looked plump and kissable.
Later on in the day I found the colour didn’t last, it seemed to have just a few bits left on my lips from where it was applied which was really disappointing as I loved how it looked originally. For the price however it’s definitely a must have for your makeup bag, so affordable and gives flawless looking lips! love love love

title: Color didn’t last, disappointing, had to reapply
detailedReviews 97: content: I was super excited at the prospect of a drug-store priced matte lipstick and I tried these out the second I got my hands on them. From what I've seen online most people are complaining that it doesn't dry when you apply it or it's shiny and doesn't have a matte finish. My experience with the product is that the more you put on, the less matte it'll be. From what I understand, Maybelline did this deliberately to make the Vivid Matte liquid versatile. One coat will give you a matte finish while two gives it a hydrated, shiny look.
They have an almost moussey texture and are moisturizing on their own, so don't layer a balm or chapstick underneath them. I'm a fan of the formulas on the ones I tested, but I've seen that some of the more unconventional colours have patchy formulas and the result is just not that great. There are some clear winners in here though, especially 'Nude Flush.' It's a great, everyday wear colour that will work for just about any situation, outfit or neutral makeup look - even a light smokey eye. I'm a sucker for red and I love both reds in this collection - Rebel Red and Orange Shot
The colours are super summery and super vivid like the name claims. A few of these are definitely worth the price, but be wary of the purple ones because they're the most patchy.
I received these products complimentary for testing purposes.

title: Patchy formulas for unconventional colors, not great
detailedReviews 98: content: First, I was a bit puzzled by the formula. I blamed the plastic tube for the semi-gloss like finish the colors seemed to cast. I then open the first tube, the Rebel Red and the pigments are vibrant and just saturated with color, but not like any matte finish I have ever seen. I'm into paints from artistic to just plain old house paints and deciding on finishes is where I get stuck sometimes, because some rooms shed a different amount of light from our windows. The Vivid Matte collection would cancel all that, it would not matter what light or amount of it, from real to just coming from a bulb.....these beauties are not Matte. I don't stop there because so what it's not a real matte? I did feel they were still pretty. I open the tube and you do get a fragrance from the formula. It's not faint and noticeable where the Nude hue is more like a sweet floral scent and the Red hue closer to a perfume/cosmetic scent. So far, okay. I apply the Rebel Red. Everything I have been rebelling against just went out the door. The consistency of the product is thick and opaque with a gloss finish. Not a translucent gloss by any stretch and a little goes a long way with at least this color. It's a night color for me or at the very least a color I can mix with another if I feel daring in the AM hours. The product has a nice moist finish and not goopy like I was afraid it would feel like.
Next, comes the Nude that has more of a purple note to it versus a pink or pale beige. There are no yellows or oranges in this nude color, it seriously owns purple! The less I apply, the more I feel it appears light enough to be called a nude like product but I mean this is me getting the wand out and using the tip to apply 2 dots at the top portion of my lip, and two on the bottom. There is no wand application going on here. Again, moist and the scent is more welcoming off this product than the former color. I prefer the Nude over the Rebel Red.
I received the above product(s) free of charge.

title: Not Matte, thick and opaque with a gloss finish
detailedReviews 99: content: First off, I want to start this review by stating that I do like this product quite a bit. It is, however, marketed a bit incorrectly in terms of finish which explains why this didn't receive a five star rating. This is not a matte lip color, or at least, no matter how thin I applied this I could not get it to become matte unless I blotted it and reapplied and so on. The best way to describe this finish is that it is a LITERAL liquid creme lipstick, as in, if you held a traditional bullet lipstick up to a flame and then proceeded to put that on your lips then that is the finish you would get. It's not a bad finish, nor does it apply in an ugly fashion, but it is not matte. Unless you're willing to put in the work or wait 2+ hours this is probably not the product for you.
With that being said, and putting it aside because it doesn't bother me that much to be honest, I really do like and appreciate this product. I find it to be very long lasting, although it does transfer very easily due to the creaminess of the product. However, once this does finally dry down, it can be super drying. I found that the corners of my mouth dried first and left the middle part creamy and slightly shiny. It's a strange combination, but like I said it's not an end game for me.
The color selection for these are spot on. They have a nice nude, ranging to a traditional red, and ending at some funky, fun colors. So there's a color for everyone and I think that's great.
All in all, this is a good CREAM liquid lipstick. Non-matte. Point blank. If you're fine with that, then I suggest you pick this up. It's easy to work with, long lasting, and has a great color range.
*This product was sent to me for testing and reviewing purposes, but that does not effect the way I conduct my reviews. All opinions remain my own.

title: Not a matte lip color, marketed incorrectly
detailedReviews 100: content: The colours of these s are really nice. So if your lips aren’t dry already, you don’t need moisturizer underneath (don’t moisturize or again, it will come off more easily), and it won’t be a pain to reapply because of its soft texture.

detailedReviews 101: content: If you're dead set on a true matte lip, then this is not what you're looking for. If you are extremely sensitive to smells, then you may not like this either. I find the smell to be minimal, especially compared to several lipsticks I've worn before. It's not a bad scent, and to me it either dissipateside after a short time, or I get used to it. It is a very comfortable lip "gloss," with more of a creamy texture. It gives SOMEWHAT of a matte appearance, but not completely and it definitely transfers when eating, drinking, kissing. As another reviewer said, it's similar to nyx intense butter glosses, but not exactly. The pigmentation is incredible and the color selection is great. I played it safe with Nude Thrill bc I'm a nude girl, and it's very pretty. They had brighter colors aND bolder as well. I like these bc they're very comfortable and to someone else looking at you they look slightly matte, to where they won't look at you and think "that's a pretty lip gloss you're wearing, " & also they're not sticky like glosses are, so if the wind blows you won't find that your hair sticks to your lips and then leaves a streak of color across your cheek as you push your hair back ;) I will try to include a photo of a hand swatch to show you how the Nude Thrill looks after about 4 or 5 minutes after application...

detailedReviews 102: content: This product, Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid, is great because it can be worn in a few different ways: matte and moussey! I found that when I went to apply the lip color too much product came out on the wand. I wanted a smooth finish on my lips so I went ahead and applied two coats right away which gave me the mousssy look. Personally I prefer a matte look which is a bit harder to achieve with two coats of product.
The 10 different color options provide you with a look that can be used for day or night! I liked the blush nude color but I found that the color was the dame as my natural lips so there was not much of an impact made by applying the color. The bright red color did not match my red toned skin very well, however, I did notice that because the product was thick it provided me with a bold look. I liked that the color was bright throughout and that I did not need to be applied in multiple coats.
I wold suggest kissing a piece of toilet paper or paper towel after applying to finish off with a matte look. even dusting a bit of powder over your lips while the tissue is still gains your lips will help to seal in the color and keep it matte. I tested Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid for free, however, all opinions are my own.
