And thats where the pleasant-ness ends.
Having paid top prices for a high end gadget from Apple who market their premium brand as easy to use, it couldn't have been a more miserable, painful and downright frustrating experience (even for an ex IT manager like myself ) getting my new phone to work.
According to Apple you simply check your old phone is running IOS 18 and place your new phone next to your old phone and everything, data, apps and settings will be copied over in around a hour.
NOT SO
After 5hours of doing nothing, both phones decided to lock up. My old phone had to be re booted, my new iPhone wouldn't reboot, so I had to do a factory reset and this rolls the phone back to IOS 17.7
1.5 Hours installing the updates to firstly iOS 17.8, then iOS 18, then iOS 18.01
Having done a Google search there are literally hundreds of posts on numerous forums about this 'bug' - yes Mr Apple your software does have bugs - contrary to your slick PR dept.
Four hours later and after trying numerous 'fixes' suggested on the internet I gave up - once again factory resetting my new phone and decided to manually load everything back .....
So again 1.5 Hours installing the updates to firstly iOS 17.8, then iOS 18, then iOS 18.01
Gave up, went to bed at 1am after starting the copy over process in the afternoon
So as a consequence of not being able to copy over I lost all my watch faces and settings for my Apple Watch - that refused to connect to the iPhone 15, even after unpairing from my iPhone 12. Another hour hunting on forums for a work around
I've a couple of apps that saved data locally to the phone, not to the cloud - so all that historical data was lost. Lesson learned here - dont assume every app that comes from the App Store will save data to the cloud.
And now I'm looking at perhaps another half a day to finish loading all my apps back and setting up the phone to work like my previous model.
The only thing that worked well was iCloud - at least my diary, notes, passwords, photo's, files and documents did eventually sync across
I cant really comment much about the phone features / camera etc, as it's still being set up, it hasn't moved off the desk - my trusty iPhone 12 will be used for a next few days.
Moral of the story - make sure everything is backed up and if you are really lucky the copy over process may work.
But, if like me, you rely on a fully loaded and functional phone for work private/ life - DONT even attempt the copy over process unless you have AT LEAST half a day to sort out moving your stuff across manually when it fails.
Hugely disappointed in Apple......

I paid upwards of around 640 for this and it came in a condition I wouldn't necessarily call "new". I would of made a review sooner but I went on vacation before I could use this phone so it took me some time to make one properly. Once I got home I opened the package, and for my own sanity and the previous reviews about this product, I felt the need to record myself opening this package as some kind of "quality assurance".
In short, the phone came banged up, not even in apple packaging, it came in some knock off box and not even an apple charger brick, but some knock off one. Corners were chipped and the backplate wasn't even attached properly. Scratch marks on the camera and screen, and what really told me that I needed to return this was that something was rattling inside when I shook it. I mean, for something that says "Refurbished" "Like-New" My first impression would be a few scratches here and there but not what I was given.
I returned this package as soon as possible so I didn't get the time to take some pictures, but in the end.. They do give you a phone- Just not the one you need.
Wouldn't recommend.

It was a good choice. Although I'm not a heavy user, the battery easily lasts 48 hours between charges. The sound from its speaker is better and I think that it's slightly lighter in weight than my old phone.
It was on offer at John Lewis, which was cheaper than direct from the manufacturer. And you get a 2 year guarantee!
I also used JL trade in facility. That was the only hitch that I had. I took their quote even though it was a little less than Apple's. I eventually received my payout in full from the company that JL use but it was only after chasing them up, which in all it took about 2 weeks.

I recently made this purchase for my birthday. I’ve made a huge upgrade from my iPhone 8+ to this.
It’s working really good. It’s like brand new. My battery % was at 94% which I wasn’t expecting at all. There’s like 2 very very nicks on the screen itself but it’s barely noticeable unless you’re staring at your screen all day.
The packaging was phenomenal. I received a hard shell case, pop socket and a charger along with its cube.
Overall if you’re looking to save and not make such a huge dent to your bank, definitely purchase from PlugTech. You’re saving on lots compare to what you’ll normally have to pay.
Will definitely keep purchasing!!! :)

I only got 128gb because I'm retired and don't need a lot but it doesn't matter which phone you go for, iPhones are ridiculously expensive so I ended up paying $1310 for the phone, another $40 for a charger plug-in, another $28 for screen protector and we haven't even gotten to Apple Warranty yet, which is another $250, and don't forget the government's lovely 12 or 13% taxes adding almost another $200. You would think that for a $1300 phone the extras should be thrown in as a thank you; maybe not the warranty but at least the add-ons! Seems to work well enough but just be warned that if you want an iPhone, fill your wallet with cash, then go to the store, close your eyes and open your wallet and hope they leave you some..

Sorry I did not choose a different model. Often revert to my far more user friendly 125.

And it did this once while I was on the phone with the person I was talking with. It also was very inconsistent with connecting with or recognizing my AT&T internet. I just got a secondary line on my iPhone 15 plus and the secondary line ate my primary line and I didn’t know this until I took it back in for the third time from on going problems within the first ten days. That’s when I said enough is enough. I want a new iPhone 15 plus this iPhone 15 plus is possessed. And received my current iPhone 15 plus and this also has an inconsistent lagging during texting. But I’m assuming this is supposed to be this way. However, the other problems I’m not having with this iPhone 15 plus. At least not yet. I’m thankful Verizon exchange my IPhone 15 plus. But I’ve never had an issue with any of them like this. And I’ve been purchasing IPhones ever since IPhone 8 and each year as they debut because it’s always around my birthday. So I get it as a gift to myself. Knowing that it’s usually in October or November and my birthday being 11/18.
This is the first year that I’m purchasing late because of the horrible inflation we are all going through. I wasn’t able to do it when it debuted this time. I absolutely love this product and this has been the first time I’ve ever been disappointed and/or let down by Apple and thank you Verizon for coming to the rescue.

The transfer from my old iPhone was very simple and a great help. I no longer have to worry about my finger print for security, just a look, and we're there! I am able to set the text size very easily which makes it much easier for instance to read emails & news, and to check on settings etc. I am slowly exploring the potential of the camera and photos. After a week's river cruising in Portugal, being able to use my phone when I did not have my camera was a great help with plenty of high quality photos. Here is a phone with great potential, great value and a 'friend' who will always be with me - a great help when my vision is now much more of a problem. I would recommend this phone - a well worth asset to my life!

This is in addition of the $177 pmt I made at the time of purchase of the phones. I immediately turned off auto-pay until ATT made right the money they stole from my bank account in excess of the amount due. It shouldn’t cost $1000 to activate and upgrade a new phone when you’ve had an account with ATT for 20. It’s rude, and it’s theft. A bait and switch. I’m waiting on my refund ATT.

So I went to into another Verizon store and the two guys in there actually found the problem with the notifications and also informed me that Verizon was having issues with their service and that’s why I was missing calls. So I traded up for no reason and it cost me loosing a $22 a month discount and paying more on my bill. No one should ever have to do that much running around to have a good working phone and or pay that much! I definitely need a refund of some monies !

I only get Sound on my text notifications half of the time. I have had my phone ring only once and the sound stops. Location services show on only two out of my three children, even though I know 100%, it’s showing on my daughter’s phone.(we are an apple family) I could go on and on about my emails and calendar, but it looks like I need to get another new phone. Just my luck that maybe it’s a reject. this did happen once before about five years ago with whatever the new phone was at the time. Don't agree with the 3 mo. payment so called reimbursement process as I have been with AT&T for a Billion Years and have good credit so it shouldn't be this expensive to upgrade a phone. We shall see how it goes for the next few years. Hoping I am not disappointed in my choice with a learning curve to boot!

Ordering from John Lewis went very smoothly. Initially the phone was not in stock, but a day later they emailed to say it was back and I collected it the following day. The 2 year warranty was an added bonus (although you can never rate these things until you have to use them).
I am very happy with my purchase. Transferring data was easy. The screen is better. Apps load faster. The battery life is excellent & I hope for many years of use.

128GB of storage is okay, but obviously if you're a photographer go for a model with more storage.

Background; I bought my fiance a new iPhone 15 Plus last week as a birthday present before encountering an issue with the phone dying within 4-5 hours after almost no use., We was unfortunately turned away with no help, assistance, or care.
I bought the phone last week, wrapped it and gave it to her at the end of the week for her birthday. As we was away for the weekend, she only managed to charge it up and attempt to setup and use it lightly last night and today. As she works in the community as an Occupational Therapist and needs her phone for medical purposes, she continued to use her existing phone – which she can rely on – until she took the new phone out in the car today. At this point, I'm elsewhere at work, and before midday I receive a message to say the phone dropped from 78% to 22% in almost not time, then soon after she text me (off her existing phone) to say it had died.
Now that the element of surprise for her birthday had gone, I said 'Look, I'm really sorry, we'll take it back to JB Hi-Fi and get them to swap it. But actually... since you now have it, if you decide that you want to get a different model, such as the 16 Pro Max, then you could put some more money in and get that instead?'. She said actually yep, that sounds great.
When we got to JB Hi-Fi Carindale we was passed from person-to-person until we finally got the manager – who was super negative, defensive and cold to whatever the situation might have been. He said we needed to go to Apple and get proof of fault. I asked a few questions, but ultimately said, look if it helps you and helps this all go smoothly, then of course. I had previously made it clear to him that it's been a bit of a shame having the issue with the phone, explained the issue in detail and repeated our desire to actually spend $750 more to get a different phone as part of this exchange – ultimately, we didn't want to spending our evening doing all of this back and forth, but we said to him, 'that's okay, we'll head down there and see what Apple can help you with'.
Apple were super lovely; as most people would probably support, Apple have always been super easy to engage with and their customer has service has been great anytime I've dealt with them in the past for other purchases. They explained that they would run diagnostics, but whilst doing that they said 'JB Hi-Fi should just swap this product for you really, you have consumer rights'. In terms of the diagnostics, because we had wiped the phone to prepare it for return, they couldn't get all of the data they needed which may support what has happened but said from what they do have, 1) they know the phone is new and only had 2 charges, 2) it seems that the battery life is 100% – though with that said, they explained, this doesn't mean there hasn't been an issue, but this is all we can tell from what we have here and the phone being so new. They encouraged us to go back to JB Hi-Fi and gave us a Consumer Rights sheet and gave us some advice should they not play well, but believed they absolutely would considering the situation.
Long story short, we went back upstairs, and the manager was even colder, abrupt and disinterested than before. He just didn't care and was actually very condescending. He said 'if we take this phone back off you, we will just have to chuck it in the bin and lose the money on that phone'. We explained, we apologise for that, but I don't know how this JB Hi-Fi process works behind the scenes however as a consumer, we didn't buy a phone on the understanding it would only have battery life for 5 hours. We've bought this in good faith, as a normal consumer and we've came back to try and remedy this, and even want to spend $750 more for a different model.
He basically couldn't care less, didn't want to speak to us, didn't want to offer any advice, didn't want to even try and help.
We went back to Apple thinking maybe there is something they can advise us of, or do, and two ladies were super helpful and nice – they cared. They gave us some great advice for taking this forward to consumer rights and recommended to book an appointment with them for a few days time to check in. They also said in a handful of days, they should be able to get access to data which may support us. They wished us the best.
But yeah, so disappointed and left out to dry after spending over $1,300 and facing an issue we didn't ask for. We couldn't have tried to remedy this with more patience.

There were some frustrating issues with swapping data from her old iphone to the new but most of the big things moved across seamlessly.
Overall, it's an excellent phone and it's not likely you'll go wrong with it or be displeased. USB-C charging is why we chose this over the 14. Very handy.

You can’t use it when you have no choice but to do a factory reset.
