snippets: Now, the Note 5 had this two-tone metal and glass design., But with the Note 5, everything has changed., Be it back design, camera layout, like everything has changed., Now, OnePlus went an all glass back., Now the frames here are made up of polycarbonate due to which the weight of the phone is in check., Also, you get an IP65 rating., So, if you're walking in Delhi and it suddenly starts raining, the Note 5 can survive that., Also, you get dual stereo speakers, air blaster, so you can control your electronic stuff., And this time you get the plus key instead of the alert cider., And last but not the least, if you use tap to pay like me, congrats, there's NFC, so you can use your cards in GP or Cred or whatever UKI app gives the most discount., So the OnePlus Nord 5 this time gets Snapdragon 8 Gen 3., All the variants here come with LPDDR 5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage., If you compare it in terms of benchmark, the Note 5 scores much higher than the Note 4., Like it scores around 35% higher than the Note 5., Also, in terms of gaming, the Note 5 supports 90 FPS on BGMI, but you can enable frame boost, which pushes the frame rates to 144 FPS., Now, we really wanted to test this claim and see how the heating is., So, we played BGMI for an hour and you get that stable 144 FPS throughout the game play., Also, the battery drain is decent., Same is the case with Call of Duty., You get 144 FPS support here as well., And the game play again is smooth without any major drops., However, the frame booster option is not available in Cood., And now we didn't stop here., We played a heavy game like CarX Street for 1 hour., And again, the gameplay was smooth and this time the phone did get a little bit hot, but there was no overheating., But considering that the game is so heavy, there was no overheating or anything else., Also, you can play other games like Genshin Impact, Woodring Waves., In these games, you get 60 fps., Also, there are a couple of extra options to enhance gaming, like hyper resolution for better clarity, game capture, 4D vibration, bypass charging., So, if you game quite a lot on your phone, you would really value these features., But for people like me in day-to-day task, we never had any issues with the OnePlus node 4, it still runs as good as new., And same is the case with the Note 5., Day-to-day tasks like scrolling through res, multitasking, and long gaming sessions on this phone is not at all a problem., Now, the third upgrade is camera., On paper, the camera specs don't sound exceptional., It gets a 50 megapixel main camera with OS and an 8 megap ultra wideangle camera., The Note 5 gets the Sony Liia 700 compared to LTI 600 on the Note 4., Now the ultra wide angle remains the same as last year., And speaking of the camera quality, the main camera takes pretty good pictures like the colors and light control are fantastic., Even it gets the skin tone right., If you zoom in, there is good amount of details., Even the portrait mode shots are pretty good., The background blur and the edgy detections are on point., You can shoot portraits at 1x and 2x., Now, the photos in ultra wide, even though there's a minimal color shift between the main and the ultra wideangle camera, the photos are good enough until you zoom in on them., On the front, it has a 50 megapixel selfie camera, and the selfies from it are excellent., In videos, it can shoot in 4K 60 fps from both the front as well as the rear camera., So, it's good to see that most of the brands are now providing 4K support in the rear as well as the front camera., Now, apart from that, you get a lot of AI tools., There's AI recompose which automatically selects the best frame of a photo., Also recommends applying various filters., And then there's AI eraser, enhance clarity, remove reflection., You can have your own sweet time with all of that., Overall, the main camera here takes really good photos and videos., Now, the display this year gets a minor change., It is now a 6.78 in 1.5K flat AMOLED display., Now, the phone feels a bit wide this year., The display here supports up to 144 Hz refresh rate., So in normal task it sits like at 60, 90 or 120 Hz depending on what you do., Now the good thing is it supports HDR on both YouTube as well as Netflix and we also tried to test the peak brightness of the display and it can go around 1900 nits of peak brightness but in general usage or outdoors you get about 1400 nits in HBM which is quite bright., Now in terms of glass protection it comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i at the front., Also this display has Aqua Touch 2.0 so you can use the phone with some droplets on the screen., But the USB of every OnePlus phone is the software, the Oxygen OS., See, the Note 5 runs on Oxygen OS 15 based on Android 15., The UI here is quite clean and polished., It only came with these three pre-installed app, which obviously you can uninstall., And then there are tons of cool features like there is this O plus connect for sharing files wirelessly to your friend's iPhone for whom the only file sharing method is Airdrop., Now, jokes aside, the Oxygen OS also gets some features that we saw on the OnePlus 13S like you get this mind space., Now, I like this feature and I use it quite a lot., So, if you see something interesting on your phone, just press this plus key and activates MindSpace which saves the screenshot and summarizes the entire thing for me., And not just that, it can also extract dates from your WhatsApp messages and then set a reminder in Google calendar and even extract text from any document., This mind space acts like a second memory for me., There's also AI voice which records WhatsApp or meet calls and generates summary from them., Also, now you get OnePlus dialer so you can record calls without those announcements., Apart from that, there's also AI call translate and obviously circle to search., Now, OnePlus promises three years of software updates and four years of security updates for the Note 5., Now, in terms of battery, this gets a huge 6,800 mAh battery., And in our phone, the phone easily lasts a day or even 2 days., You get a 80 watt charger inside the box, and it takes about an hour to go from 5 to 100%., So, what's the conclusion?, Is the Note 5 a good successor to the Note 4?, I would say yes., See, Note 4 was and still a pretty balanced phone., It had some hiccups in cameras and batteries, but the Note 5 kind of fixes all of that and improves over it., I still feel for an overall balanced phone, the Note 5 is really good., Now, regarding the pricing, the base 8256GB variant starts at $29,9.99 with bank offers and at that price, it's a pretty balanced phone.

snippets: Now, you get a massive 6,800 mAh battery., Now time to talk about the cameras and I'd say that there are improvements that are definitely worth highlighting., For example, the 50 megapixel primary camera on the Note 5 performs really well., At 2x zoom, uh the image quality is still very solid. But beyond that, at 3x, 6x, 10x, the details fall apart. So, I would suggest that you stick to 1x or 2x if you want usable shots., HDR processing on the other hand is a huge improvement on the Note 5 because now when you're shooting against the sun, the Note 5 handles dynamic range pretty well., But in portraits, the lack of a dedicated telephoto was something that we were definitely missing out on because what you get are 24mm and 48 mm focal lens., The ultra wide is of course your standard 8 megapel shooter. It gets the job done, but nothing impressive., But the good thing is that you can now shoot macro using the ultra wideangle camera because you get autofocus and the results are usable., That said, the one area where OnePlus actually like, you know, picks up the game like anything is in the selfie camera performance. And the selfie camera is actually really, really good., And the portraits actually look better than the primary camera., And by the way, something I completely forgot to talk about is the primary camera's low light performance. Actually, OnePlus has improved the low light performance on the Note 5, definitely compared to the Note 4., For video, you get 4K 60 fps from both the primary and the selfie cameras, which I kind of love., However, stabilization definitely needs some work because uh when you're walking or running, sometimes the stabilization can be a bit of a hit and miss., Now this is where OnePlus completely nails the experience with the Note 5. By this, I mean the software., The Note 5 ships with Oxygen OS 15 based on Android 15. It's one of the cleanest, smoothest Android experiences that you can get under 30,000., And OnePlus is also promising 4 plus 6 years of updates and parallel animations on Oxygen OS 15 is I just love it., Apart from that, you also do get a few modern UI elements. For example, you get live activities. You get flux themes. You get contextbased AI search. You get AI call assistant and call translation. You get AI eraser, reflection remover, AI recompose, and AI detail boost in the camera app., Now of course the mind space is uh OnePlus's very own version of the journaling and memory app that it has., Still, overall, if you ask me, Oxygen OS 15 is my favorite software experience in this price range, and the Note 5 stands out because of that specific reason as well., And despite having UFS 3.1, which is of course a problem, despite having that, because Oxygen OS 15 is so smooth and fast, it feels like a flagship experience, especially when you use the Note 5., So after all of this, where does that leave the Note 5? Honestly, it's a well balanced package overall, especially if you look at the 30,000 price category., So, what you get is a clean and elegant design. The display quality is pretty decent. You also get a large battery with fast charging speeds. The performance is reliable. The primary camera performance has been improved. The selfie cameras are definitely great. And more importantly, you get the best software experience in the segment., It's not like the Note 5 doesn't have its faults. You have the plastic frame that you have to contend with. There's the IP65 rating. There is also the USB 2.0 port and UFS 3.1 storage., Now, if you can look past these issues, it is a great phone under 30,000 that delivers across the board., It's one of the easiest recommendations that I can make now under Rs. 30,000., In fact, I've been doing that for my friends and family. Uh I have actually recommended a bunch of Note F to folks because again, I don't have to think about it too much.

items 4: content: I’ve been using the OnePlus Nord 5 for a few weeks now, and honestly, it’s one of the best all‑round mid‑range phones I’ve tried in a long time. The Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 delivers incredible speed — multitasking and gaming (especially BGMI and COD Mobile) feel super‑smooth thanks to the 144 Hz AMOLED display. The 6.83‑inch screen is bright and crisp, easily visible under sunlight, and the 3000 Hz touch response makes gameplay really sharp and responsive. Battery life is impressive. The massive 6,800 mAh cell easily lasts over a day and a half with moderate use, and 80 W fast charging tops it up in roughly 40 minutes. Temperature control is handled well, and even after extended gaming sessions, the phone stays comfortably warm. The camera performance is solid for the price — the 50 MP main sensor delivers detailed, well‑exposed shots, and the 50 MP selfie camera is among the best in this segment with sharp, lively images even in low light. The 8 MP ultra‑wide lens is acceptable but could use some improvement in low‑light and edge detail. Video recording at 4K 60 fps on both front and rear cameras is a pleasant surprise. Design‑wise, the Nord 5 feels premium with its matte‑glass back. It’s slightly on the heavier side, but the build feels durable and premium in hand. OxygenOS is still one of the cleanest and smoothest Android skins around, with plenty of thoughtful AI features and minimal bloat ware. If I had to nit‑pick, the phone isn’t fully waterproof (IP65 only) and the cameras, while good, don’t quite match flagship levels. But for under ₹30,000, it’s hard to complain.
Pros:
Blazing fast Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 performance
Smooth 144 Hz AMOLED displayStrong battery life + 80 W fast charging
Excellent selfie camera and 4K video
Clean, fast OxygenOS experience
Cons:
Slightly heavy and bulky
Ultra‑wide camera underperforms in low light
Only IP65 water resistance
Verdict:
If you want a phone that’s built for speed, gorgeous to use, and easily lasts a full day or more, the OnePlus Nord 5 is one of the smartest buys right now in the ₹25,000–₹30,000 range
