Among the various products I've tried, the CeraVe Daily Moisturizer has been a staple in my routine. To Compare: The Intensive Moisturizing Lotion feels like getting a week's worth of hydration in just one application compared to the Daily Moisturizer. While the Daily Moisturizer is lightweight and perfect for everyday use, the Intensive Moisturizing Lotion seems to offer a thicker, more concentrated texture that creates a barrier to lock in moisture. Despite its richness, it doesn't leave a greasy or sticky residue, which is a major plus. The immediate texture at pump, falls somewhere between a lotion and a cream. A little goes a long way and it spreads out beautifully to a lightweight finish. It took a bit longer (5-10 minutes) to fully absorb into my skin, but I'm also in a dry phase after a summer of consistent pool use. The more I used the Intensive, the less time I needed to allow it to settle into my skin. If you have really dry skin, don't discard after the first use. In my experience, I needed two applications to really give it a fair chance because my dry skin needed a warm up to moisture. My skin now feels incredibly soft and stayed hydrated throughout the day after the first 2 applications. I work in healthcare and deal with frequent handwashing, this has been a game-changer at quickly restoring moisture to my dry hands. The Intensive Moisturizing lotion is also virtually scentless, which is essential in my line of work as well. I also loved its versatility. After just two uses, these spots looked visibly hydrated, and after a week of daily application, the skin in these areas has become noticeably softer for me. Overall, I would definitely recommend and plan to purchase my own as a winter staple.

Thank you so much! However, in saying that, I will be buying this lotion again and again - I liked it that much! Number one, you don't have to use very much. The lotion goes a long way. It has 5% Hydro-Urea in it, which is designed to hydrate deep within the skin's surface layers. Number two, the lotion is not greasy. At all. It does have 3 essential cerramides plus shea butter, all combined to form a a wonderful, creamy formula. Number three, it lasts all day, and all night. I wake up and my skin still feels great in the morning. I live in a desert environment - we're lucky to have 15% humidity. I was thrilled to wake up and still feel like I had lotion on my skin. Finally, and this is my personal preference, it comes in a pump-type container. So many facial lotions come in a tub. I personally don't like to dig my fingers into lotion. Instead, this lotion is easy to dispense, you can control how much you want/need, and there is no mess. It's also convenient for my hubby to use! CeraVe Intensive Moisturizing Lotion is an absolute winner in my book!

As soon as I received my sample, I started using it right away. I suffer from dry skin, not only on my face, but on my hands and elbows also. I've tried using so many lotions to try to help with my dry skin and I haven't been able to find anything to help until now. I've been using CeraVe Intensive Moisturizing Lotion for dry to very dry skin for about a week and a half, and I've already noticed a difference in my skin. My face feels smoother. My hands are so much softer. The lotion goes on, just by putting a small amount in your hand and rubbing it onto your face, elbows or wherever you feel that you need it. It has a nice thick texture glides on so smooth it makes my skin feel so hydrated. It's fast acting and long lasting and it also helps with the itching feeling I get with my dryness on my face and hands. Having CeraVe Intensive Moisturizing Lotion has really benefited me, my skin has really improved so much from using it. I will definitely be buying it from now on as I believe I found what works for me. I would recommend this to anyone who suffers from dry to very dry skin that itches from being dry. This Intensive Moisturizing Lotion by CeraVe is one of the first I've encountered that feels as though it penetrates below the skin's surface and leaves it feeling soft and hydrated almost all day!
CeraVe is one of my favourite brands for body lotion, and I am completely in love with this new product: it's gentle, yet remarkably effective; it absorbs quickly and deeply without leaving a heavy residue; and my dry skin seems to drink it in. I've experienced no irritation whatsoever. Highly recommended!

This one was smooth and delivered decent amount so that was a relief! The texture is lovely as well. It isn't too runny but thick enough to feel expensive. I love the fact that it is unscented. There's nothing worse than scented lotion irritating allergies or competing with any other environmental smells. Moving on to the hydration part which is the. Best for last! Immediately after rubbing onto my arms and hands was jaw dropping ! I promise you that this is absolutely an immediate results product. My arms were plumped up& less crepey within the time frame it took me to rub in!wow! Speaking on absorption, this product plowed through and clearly knew its job. I've already recommended this to my girlfriends and will definitely buy before this is gone as to never running out. I highly recommend to everyone.

I try to apply body lotion soon after I'm out of the shower while my skin is still damp. This CeraVe Intensive Moisturizing lotion absorbs pretty quickly and helps to relieve that tight-skin sensation. My elbows especially appreciate the moisturizing formula because they are so much drier and rougher than the rest of my skin, apart from my feet.
I did try this on my face as a "lighter" moisturizer during the day because I get tightness (and eventually itchiness) on my jaw, cheekbones, and forehead. I misted my face with water and then used a very small amount of the lotion for my dry areas, and this lotion helped immensely. I'm not sure if it would be good to use overnight as I like heavier creams, but it definitely has enough versatility as a face and body lotion.
This CeraVe lotion works very well and quickly for my dry skin, and I haven't experienced any ill effects from use. I think this will probably become my go-to unscented lotion if the price stays reasonable.

I just had surgery a couple weeks ago as well, so I used this lotion over my scar to help with the dryness of the skin. The only thing I really didn't like about the lotion was how my palms felt after putting in on. Hard to explain, not a sticky feeling, but just…I don't know. I was VERY pleased with how well the lotion absorbed into my skin. The lotion for sure owns up to its name. Compared to other lotions I have tried that state they are "moisturizing", I feel this one tops them all by far. This lotion will definitely be a staple in our home, especially come winter when my skin becomes extra dry. I could see this lotion being excellent for someone with severely dry skin, and maybe even eczema. The fact there is no scent is a HUGE plus, no irritation! I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for intense moisture for anywhere on their body!

Let me start by saying I have VERY dry skin, the kind that will feel dry and tight without a cream, and will be flakey by the end of the day.
I normally use CerVa cream (in the big tub) which is very thick and rich. I wasn't sure if this lotion would be enough for my dry skin, but I was pleasantly surprised by how much moisture it provided. The lotion contains urea and hyaluronic acid, which help to both exfoliate the dry flakes and hold moisture to keep the skin soft. I've used the lotion for the past several days, applying daily after showering and again at night before bed. A nice benefit is that it absorbs quickly and didn't make me feel warm which cream can sometimes do (hello menopause).
Note that it might sting a bit on freshly shaved legs, but it's not uncomfortable.
Overall, this lotion is a solid choice to improve skin hydration and texture.

I have dry skin and this lotion is perfect for moisturizing and bringing my skin back to life. It also contains hydro-urea which is a hydrating form of urea so it helps with brightening and improving skin radiance. There is definitely and improvement in my skin's appearance especially in very dry rough areas like knees and elbows. When applied, the lotion gets absorbed into the skin quickly and doesn't feel too heavy or occlusive but it feels hydrating all day long. I love the packaging of course, it's better when a product has a pump to keep it clean on the inside and prevent contamination and exposure. The amount of lotion is also very reasonable and affordable. This is just a perfect fool-proof lotion.

detailedReviews 17: content: As someone with insanely dry skin with eczema and chronic hives, I rely on moisturizer to keep my irritation at bay. Even with that, the feeling of super thick lotion on my skin is not ideal for me. I prefer something that feels light but still hydrates. This lotion does exactly that. It's super hydrating but doesn't feel heavy on the skin and absorbs super quickly, leaving my skin plump. I don't find myself dealing with any itchiness throughout the day when using this. That being said, my one issue with this lotion is when I apply it after shaving my legs, even if I wait a while, I experience a tingling sensation, which I assume could be due to the urea. I don't necessarily fault the lotion too much on this, as I also have keratosis pilaris on my legs which makes my legs extremely sensitive after shaving, so it's certainly not the only lotion to do this. I suspect most people would not have this issue. Definitely worth a try if you want something light but still very hydrating!!

This stuff sinks into my skin and my skin feels so soft and hydrated, without feeling heavy and slick like a lot of other body lotions I tried do! Even with a heat advisory in my area, and it being super hot outside, I'm still able to use this stuff and I don't even notice it's on! I've noticed such a huge change in my skin since beginning to use it, I don't feel so itchy and dry anymore. I most definitely recommend this to anyone who has the same problems! I see myself using this for a long time and see myself purchasing it (after the sample CeraVe sent me is all gone, because again, I did not purchase the sample I used for this review, CeraVe sent it to me to test for a review) over and over again!

I absolutely love the Cerave intensive moisturizing lotion, I've been using it for about 3-4 days and its perfect for my dry/sensitive skin. I love that its rich but if you want it a little lighter you can use less so its easy to control how moisturizing you want it to be. I use about a half pump for my face, neck and chest. I haven't broken out from it at all and I am acne prone. I was previously using Clinique moisturizing lotion + that also has urea, but i like the Cerave more. There is a lot of product in the bottle and I definitely plan on repurchasing! I didn't notice any scent and its super hydrating, my skin is very dry so it's perfect for my skin type. I would recommend this to my friends and family if they are struggling with dry skin on their face or body. I can't wait to see how it would work on my dry patches when my skin is especially dry in the winter. This product is a winner!

Once I applied Cerave in the AM, it lasted al day. When I used it with my PM skincare regimen, it lasted well past my morning cup of coffee. It leaves my skin looking radiant and youthful! And there's no face waste. Whatever I have left over, I apply to my neck and hands and really all over! It even worked on my legs that are EXTREMELY dry! Love, love, LOVE this lotion!! And it did not cause my skin to break out or agitate it in any way. Pros: It's only been three days and my skin is SO soft. I can see the difference in the hydration level, fewer wrinkles, less crepeiness. The main reason I have avoided CeraVe products in the past was because it always had an odd smell to me so I was amazed to apply this lotion and not have my nose wrinkle up in disgust! There was NO scent, None! I have used this on my hands, arms, chest, neck, and face and I am beyond happy with the results.
Cons: It is a very heavy lotion. It is slightly greasy feeling until your skin fully absorbs it, so don't plan to put on clothing or make-up right away after applying it.
I would HIGHLY recommend this lotion to anyone who has felt they are part snake because their skin is so dry.

The daily moisturizer wasn’t cutting it. The thicker moisturizing cream wasn’t cutting it. I tried pure shea butter, pure cocoa butter. Straight up aquaphor. Different things helped with different success rates but I was still so itchy.
I saw this on the shelf and bought it out of desperation. I didn’t think it’d work. After the first application I felt relief, and after a few days my skin started visibly improving. I’ve been using it daily for a few weeks now, and I cannot express how thankful I am I bought this lotion. My skin is better than it was before I started taking this new medication. My scars have gotten lighter. My KP has gotten smoother. My full body eczema is virtually gone. My (mild) psoriasis is virtually gone. It has even somehow managed to help mitigate my neuropathic itching. It’s not greasy or heavy or uncomfortable to wear either. It might be too much for a humid summer, but we shall see. I cannot express how thankful I am for this lotion. It’s incredible.

I have been applying this lotion as soon as I am out of the shower and in just a few days, the skin on my heels is becoming much more moisturized and not cracking more. I apply all over the rest of my body and notice it is not a heavy or greasy lotion and my skin just absorbs it right up like it has been aching for something to quench its thirst and it finally has something that does the trick. It does not have a scent to it so you can definitely use right out of shower and add your own perfume over it, or none at all if you choose.
My skin is so much softer, it is not flaking due to dryness and most noticeably, my heels are finally healing from such dryness that they were cracking and becoming sore

Most lotions that state they provide moisture for one reason or another do not absorb, it's like they sit on your skin's surface.
I am happy to say I did not experience that with this CeraVe. It was lightweight, and when I began rubbing, it literally began absorbing into my skin. There was no oil, and it did not leave any traces of product. It has a super light scent of urea cream, which quickly dissipates. Over time of use, I have noticed that my skin has improved overall. My once hard elbows and hands have softened up, and I must say I think the lotion played a big part in that. I would highly recommend this product.

The worst areas of dry skin I have are my hands because I'm constantly washing them or do dishes a few times throughout the day and my feet because I walk and stand all day at work and am constantly moving even when I'm not working.

For context, I have used CeraVe products since I was 15 years old and diagnosed with Atopic Dermatitis on my hands (I'm in my mid-30s now). I still have the occasional minor flare-ups, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was when I was in high school (we're talking all over redness, extremely itchy bumps, dry/cracked skin, and significant bleeding). What I do deal with now is a damaged skin barrier on my hands from years of topical steroid use; I was diagnosed and treated before dermatologists knew topical steroids could be bad for you long-term. As a result, my hands are constantly dry and I am forever reapplying lotion to them, so I am always interested in moisturizers that are long-lasting. When I saw this new version of CeraVe lotion, I decided to give it a try. So far, so good! It lasts through a couple of hand washes, my hands feel much softer, and are retaining moisture better. This product lives up to the claims of not being sticky or greasy, which is great for someone like me who had to endure years of thick, greasy, occlusive creams and topicals. I will say it does take a minute to fully rub it into your skin - it doesn't dry quickly like Hempz brand lotion does, but to be fair, it provides way more moisture and lasts much longer between applications. The only downside is, if you have any open cuts or particularly dry patches from eczema or other skin conditions, it may cause a very slight stinging/itching, but it's tolerable and immediately goes away once the lotion is absorbed. I did deduct one star for this reason, because other lotions and creams have eliminated the ingredients that cause this, and it may be a deal-breaker for some people. Overall, I would recommend it and will likely repurchase until I find something better!

detailedReviews 94: content: When I first received this product, the first thing I noticed was how thick the formula was. This has its benefits but ultimately I decided it was too heavy for my face, even though it can be used that way. I have combination skin with very dry areas and an oily t-zone, so this exacerbated the t-zone problems. On the other hand, I LOVED this for my arms, which is why I rated it 4 stars. My arms tend to be dry and itchy, plus I have pretty bumpy skin from keratosis pilaris. The thickness of this formula was great for reviving the dry skin, the aloe soothed the itchiness, and the urea helped soften up the bumpiness. After only 3 days of use my arm skin has already shown improvement, so I'm going to move on to using this on my legs as well. I will purchase this after the sample runs out because the other products with similar ingredients are SO much more expensive than CeraVe. I would also like to note that I liked how the formula did not leave a greasy or oily feel despite the thick consistency as many products do.

detailedReviews 95: content: I love the "clean" ingredients of CeraVe and have been a long-time customer of this brand because I have sensitive skin that is so dry that it gets itchy and sometimes even cracks. I got this product as a free trial and was excited to try it out on my legs and arms (my driest parts!)
The pros: It works! I did a side of this lotion and another side of a scented lotion from a popular bath company right before bed and after a shower, and the CeraVe side was still soft and not itchy the next day.
The cons: After application, my skin feels "tacky" to the touch. I thought the lotion would be absorbed into my skin since my skin is so dry, and that's what other (thinner) lotions have done. However, this lotion is thicker and does not soak into my skin the same way. I don't like the stickiness feeling, so I switched it to using it at night only, but still need at least an hour before bed for enough time to dry. Otherwise my sheets stick to my skin.
Overall, I think it's a good product because it works! You just have to be okay with a little bit of stickiness.

detailedReviews 96: content: The cream is really thick, but spreads well. I did notice however that my skin stayed tacky throughout the day, it wasn't smooth to the touch, even hours after application. My skin also went slimy when showering.
I did not like the smell, maybe a fragranced cream would be more pleasant to use. The chemical/plastic smell lingered on my skin/clothes throughout the day, which made it quite unpleasant day to day.
It did however hydrate my skin really well. And as mentioned above it spread on my skin nicely and was easy to rub in. The pump bottle made it easy to use after a shower too.
Overall, I liked the cream but it does need some tweaks to make it a cream I would regularly buy, and one that would replace what I currently use. I think I could have overlooked the tacky skin feeling if it had a nice fragrance to it, but as it is, I wouldn't recommend it.

Things I love: unscented; lightweight; non-greasy; hasn't caused skin irritation, even when I use after freshly shaving my legs.
Things I wish were better: I'd love if it helped with the itchy feeling that comes along with having very dry skin. No matter how much I moisturize or what product I use, I'm prone to having itchy skin. The only lotions that ease the itch for me are ones that have a strong fragrance, and I don't care for the scent.
Overall this is a great quality moisturizer that I will purchase again.

I am a 49 yrs old and my skin is changing with age which means more dryness for me. CeraVe Intensive Moisturizing lotion is a phenomenal lotion that does a great job moisturizing my skin. I have used this for 5 straight days ,most when getting out of the shower is when I apply it but also have applied it before going to bed.
As far as the depth of the moisturizing it gives, I would give 5 stars.
The only thing I don't care for about the lotion is after it dries, it has a dry film on my skin as where I wish it didn't. That's where I gave 4 star rating.
If a dry film isn't an issue for you, I would definitely say to stock up on this lotion.

This lotion is thicker than most lotions you find in a bottle, which I was happy to see because I struggle with extremely dry itchy skin and thin lotions just don't cut it for me. I liked that I'm able to use this lotion on both my face and my body, saving me from having to use multiple products. The amount dispensed from the pump is the perfect amount. I did find that this lotion didn't absorb as quickly as other lotions I've tried, but that's certainly not a deal breaker. This lotion did keep my skin moisturized, but unfortunately it didn't do too much to help with the itchiness of my skin.
Overall I would recommend this lotion to anyone needing some extra moisture for their skin, but not to someone whose skin is so dry that it often itches constantly.

I have been using the intensive moisturizing lotion for dry to very dry skin for a about 7 days.
I like it more as an all body lotion than a face moisturizer. My face is dry except for my nose which is oily..The lotion makes it more oily. I think it would make a good heavy moisturizer for the cold weather more than a summer one. It's too heavy for my face in the heat.
It works much better as a body lotion. My body feels moisturized throughout the day & I don't have to be reapplying it.
I will continue to use it as a body lotion for sure. But will find something else for my face.

There is a bit of a tacky/sticky feeling that is worse immediately after applying, and it does feel a bit greasy until it's fully absorbed. Using less helps, personally I would start with less and build the product up as it dries. Or, use more in specific spots where dryness is the worse. It is completely fragrance free which is a plus! I wouldn't use this as my all over daily moisturizer but it is nice to keep on hand for when I need something intensely moisturizing.

HOWEVER, it has too many chemicals in it and about 8 to10 ounces into my first bottle, it started breaking me out in hives, which stopped as soon as I switched back to a lotion that I'm not allergic to. I wish Cerave would come out with an intensive moisturizing lotion like this without all of the allergy-triggering chemicals, like PEG's and others.

It has a subtle, natural scent, not overpowering, a refreshing middle ground between the many heavily fragranced products available and those fragrance-free varieties. It instantly made my dry skin feel nourished and smoother. I like the pump dispenser, easy and hygienic, 2 pumps was enough for my lower leg, so a little goes a long way. I'd definitely recommend.
