snippets: all right next up I think this is important to know that the Canon R50 of course this one's kind of rigged out with a cage and a lens but a standard Canon R50 is only about $200 more than the r100 and you get a ton more features out of this camera including that amazing fully articulating touchscreen which alone for some people could make the R50 worth the extra price versus the r100, all right now lastly on the side of this camera you have a nice USBC Port it's really nice to see camera manufacturers adding USBC and finally starting to switch over from micro USB ports but what's kind of weird on the r100 different from almost every other newer Canon camera with USBC ports you can't charge the battery in this camera by plugging in with the USBC Port you have to have an external battery charger you have to have one of those with you at all times to be able to charge the battery in this camera even though it has that nice USBC Port right on the side of the camera you can only use that for transferring files from the camera and so since most other Canon cameras and really any other camera right now that has a USBC Port can charge the battery through that Port without having to bring an extra charger with you I think that's something important just to mention that the Canon r100 can't do that for some weird reason

snippets: here is Canon offering today the RFS 18 to 45 mm f4.5 to 6.3 is STM if bought by itself it'll set you back a slightly ridiculous £300 if bought as a kit with a new camera it's only 100 so unless the lens turns out to be absolutely spectacular somehow you shouldn't reallyu consider buying it separately, in exchange for being small light and inexpensive when bought with your camera the key limiting aspect of this lens is its short Zoom range and unusually dark maximum aperture 18 to 45 mm is only the full frame equivalent of about 29 to 72 mm so you won't be getting particularly wide nor telephoto shots here, and also the maximum apture of any f4.5 to f6.3 as you zoom in is fairly any poor again not as good as the competition from Sony or Nikon you won't be getting very out of focused backgrounds in your images with this lens at all and it won't be very good for shooting in Darker situations either

snippets: there's nothing really bad it's a question of what's missing there's a lot of features we take for granted like there's no ultrasonic sensor cleaner it doesn't have USB charging you always have to remember to bring this little included charger to charge your battery there's no level for getting horizontal results it doesn't oddly have the FV exposure mode which Canon invented for use with its mirrorless cameras the video shots can't get longer than 30 minutes long and no longer than seven and a half minutes at some of the ridiculously high frame rates there's no programmable bulb timer which it means if you're making like three hour long time exposures you actually have to use use a special release it does not do h if format files so there's no built-in stabilization but so what I use it with stabilized lenses and it works awesome there's no Universal preset C1 C2 C3 controls here I really like those settings but you know this is their least expensive camera and honestly I'm a full-time user so this camera I love for its lightweight someone like me wouldn't be getting this camera as a main camera and so a lot of the stuff that's not on here is not stuff that a normal user like my mom would actually have any idea how to use so I'm not faulting can for not including all the stuff on this camera, the LCD doesn't flip or tilt there's no touchscreen just the good oldfashioned regular LCD you do everything with the usual controls here
