items 3: content: Sony bringing their bass to the next level. Along with bringing the bass they also supplied impressive noise cancelling and great value for $200 mid range headphones. Noise cancelling was surprisingly effective it can rival some of the premium options out in the market (looking at you Apple) and definitely holds on its own. It even performs similarly to the wh-1000xm4 ( the goat for me) but the Ult Wear imo has better comfort and Bluetooth connection than the outdated wh-1000xm4. The Ult Wear however does not cancel as much noise as the ongoing wh 1000xm5 and recently released wh 1000xm6 ; if noise cancelling is your top priority I would pivot towards the 1000xm6 and not the xm5 because the xm6 have more padding and deeper spacious ear cups than the xm5. The Ult Wear blends the comfort of the xm4 and a sprinkle of the noise cancelling of the xm5 into one and the Ult Wear has the best of two worlds. Bass is obviously the standout of the Ult Wear and since I'm a bass Head I really enjoy listening to music with these . However if you're not a part of the bass Head club don't worry you can still get an enjoyable listening experience without the madness and chaos occurring just don't forget to turn the Ult toggle off thank me later. For the value they offer and given the noise cancelling it can compete with the Ult Wear is a no brainer for someone who wants not only bass but also wants the amenities premium flagships offer the Ult Wear fits what you need for a fraction of the price.

title: Sony bass next level, rivals premium options
type: REVIEWS
items 4: content: The Sony ULT WEAR Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones provide great sound and fantastic bass, along with convenient controls and excellent noise canceling technology. I have tested out these new headphones, and following are my observations:
- First and most important, the sound is incredible! The normal sound is very good, but using the ULT button allows you to increase the bass levels to two different settings, depending on your preference, and this really enhances the sound to the level of great. I tend to like a heavy bass and these headphones really deliver. I don't recall ever hearing such a deep, clear and heavy bass in a set of headphones before, and the bass never distorted, no matter how loud I cranked the music. I tested them out with a variety of music in a variety of genres, loud and soft, female and male singers, acoustic, instrumental, etc. The sound was simply incredible with everything I played.
- I also love the equalizer options on the Sony Headphones Connect App that you download and connect to, as this really lets you enhance the sound for anything you listen to. There are 8 pre-set equalizer settings to choose from and three 5-band manual/custom options you can set however you want. The presets include Bright, Excited, Mellow, Relaxed, Vocal, Treble Boost, Bass Boost and Speech. Some of these perfect for various types of music, podcasts, and audio books, however, I personally enjoy playing with the manual/custom options. Between the equalizer settings and the bass boost options, you can really customize the sound to what you like for anything you listen to.
- Set up was very easy. Basically, download the App, have the App find your new headphones via Bluetooth and it then it easily made the Bluetooth connection, after which you can start using them. You can also make the Bluetooth connection via your phone, without using the App, but the App has the equalizer and a lot of other features that make it worth using.
- The Noise Cancellation features are very good. You can turn on Noise Cancellation, or turn it off, or switch to Ambient Sound. With Ambient Sound, you can adjust the level of outside ambient sound allowed via the App and it will filter out background noise and enhance the outside noise like voices if you want to be aware of sound around you. The Noise Cancellation and Ambient Sound features worked very well in a variety of areas I've tested them.
- The headphones will operate using your phone's voice assistant or with Amazon Alexa. You can also operate all controls via the App. Finally, if you prefer not to use the App, all the necessary controls are located on the headphones also. The headphone controls included on the left are a power button, a noise cancellation/ambient sound button to toggle through those options, and an ULT button to toggle between the two different bass boost options or turn it off. On the right side, you can just swipe across the ear piece, up or down for volume, forward to skip ahead a track and backwards to skip back, or tap on it to pause and play and answer calls. The controls on the headset are all very well designed and intuitive to use without looking at them.
- You can set up an account through the App that allows you activate Adaptive Sound Control. This feature will track your actions and how you set the ambient sound that is filtered in. After registering locations, it will automatically switch to the settings you like when using in different places, like home, work or the gym.
- The battery life is also impressive on these headphones. They have a standard 30 hours of battery life, which is extended up to 50 hours if you don't use the noise cancelling feature. In addition, a simple 3 minute charge provides an extra 90 minutes of battery life and a 10 minute charge gives you up to 5 more hours of playtime.
- They also have a multi-point connection feature so that you can pair them with two different Bluetooth devices at the same time. This is great, as I can listen to music on my personal phone, but if my work phone rings, I can answer it too.
- The headphones come with a headphone cable for connecting in a plane, for example, a USB Type-C charging cord, and a great case. I really like the design of the case, as the headphones fold up so that it is a very small and thin circular case that is convenient for travelling.
- While these headphones feel very solid and well-made, they are still very light and nicely padded on the headband and on the earpieces. I have worn them all day and found them to be very comfortable to wear.
- The only possible con I can think to share is that the earpieces of these headphones stick out a little wider than some of the other headphones I've used. Perhaps that extra depth is what allows for all the extra bass you get. If so, I think it is well worth it.
I'm really enjoying these Sony ULT WEAR Headphones and I highly recommend them!

title: Great sound, bass, ANC, and battery life

items 5: content: This the second Sony headphones I have and this really beats the sound from my old ones. I’m amazed with the powerful Cristal sound quality using the ULT system, I really enjoy this feature on my headphones, just click on the side of the headphones ULT and you can get ultra bass sound on any song you love and with the great noise cancellation that this headphones provides, you can only hear your music and nothing else, I used this headphones while using my lawnmower on my yard and I definitely couldn’t even hear the noise from the lawnmower, that’s just great for me. Even though this headphones are a little bulky, they sure are super comfortable on your ears, and with the help of the Music apps it analyzes your ears for the 360 live experience app and the Sony app, this helps you get the best sound quality. This headphones includes a swivel designs that folds into the included case comes very handy and best suited for traveling or putting them in your gym bag. Other great feature that this headphones have is the battery life, very outstanding battery performance that could last up to 30 hrs, I used this headphones for at least 4/5 hours and it was still on 80% charge, very impressive. On the right side of the headphones you get touch sensor control panel that help you control the volume or play and pause your music with just a tap. The app has a lot of features that helps you set up your headphones the way you want to use them like analyze your ears for best quality sound, keep track of your music and battery life and also detects if you’re seat down or walking with the headphones, also you get free trial of 360 live app, which the 360 live app could use some more updates. The multipoint connection could use a little better upgrade but I’m not really in need of this feature since I only use this headphones with my iPhone. Great headphones ! Recommended.

items 6: content: Got these on sale and did the geek squad protection to total under $200! I’m a iphone - apple music user and set up was easy with the sony connect app. I usually use airpod pro 2s and my previous over ear headphones were crusher anc 2s. I like these alot! I use ult 2 and vocal EQ on app & they sound perfect for me. They are not loud headphones but loud enough where you don’t have to turn volume all the way up to enjoy your music. One word to describe these headphones would be chill! The overall sound is just chill. They have Avg ANC, and excellent real bass, I didn’t like the the artificial bass on anc 2. Vocals are is a little bit distorted and under instrumental but overal output sound is smooth for a enjoyable listening experience. I have not messed with custom eq because i’m fine with what the stock options changed so far. Worth it!

items 7: content: Packaging / Appearance
Would you have gotten the dream job if you wore that t-shirt instead of the shirt and tie to the job interview? Does a nice red wine taste the same from a paper cup as a stemmed glass? Sometimes proper packaging influences our perception. These headphones were delivered in a box within a box within a box. All three boxes were black except for graphics and labeling and neatly latched and nested within each other with the innermost box containing a zippered, fabric covered hard shell case surrounding the headphones. It sent a nice message of quality even before removing the product. The headphones fold neatly and nest inside the case. The device is an attractive darker shade of gray. Being an over the ear design, the phones themselves are bulkier than an “on-ear” headphone, and of course “ear buds”, but I believe these are much more comfortable to wear over longer periods of time. While I really appreciate the compactness of quality ear buds, I worry they may fall out (There goes a couple of hundred dollars!) or that they may eventually cause some hearing loss because they reside in the ear channel much closer to the ear drum. I like the monochromatic look and overall design.
Comfort
While testing the headphones for the first time, I wore them for hours on end. I knew they were there on my head, but the lightness of the construction, padding on the ear pieces, and lack of pressure on my head from the headband, made for a pleasurable experience.
Product Manual
While I rarely open the product manual (yes – sometimes things actually come with printed documentation) that comes with an automobile or power equipment, I found the online Sony manual for these headphones to be quite detailed with useful links throughout. I admit I have not read all 144 pages, but I look forward to going back to it to learn about additional functionality I may have missed in my excitement to use the headphones.
Controls
Controls are nicely positioned and somewhat intuitive. Nothing requires more than a couple of taps to get by. I hate having to tap three times on one button, while holding down a second button, after counting the correct number of seconds to do each strike – which is no problem here. I especially like the Touch Sensor Control Panel located on the outside of the right ear phone. Two taps to answer and hang up your phone, a swipe up or down to control volume, swipes forward or back to change tracks, etc. And by holding the palm of your hand on it, you will momentarily turn off noise cancellation until you remove your hand. Unlike my wife who has natural noise canceling ability whenever I speak (i.e., cannot hear a word that I say), I need headphones to achieve that ability. But I am smart enough to use the palm of my hand on the Touch Sensor whenever I suspect she is about to speak to me, as that feature turns off Noise Cancellation until you remove your palm from the Touch Sensor Control Panel.
Performance
Using my Samsung Galaxy S22+ as my music source, I listened to John Mayall, Shelby Lynne, Lyle Lovette, Fat Boy Slim, and Cake. “Short Skirt / Long Jacket” by Cake was a great test of the ULT BUTTON on the Left ear piece, which enhances the bass to different degrees. One touch for ULT1 and a second for ULT2. The result was quite dramatic and illustrated the feature nicely. Varying according to the selection, the sound was truly immersive. I am looking forward to loading up my new SONY WALKMAN with my music library. The WALKMAN should pair nicely with this product. I think these new SONY ULT Headphones and I will have a great future together.

items 8: content: Sony does it again… These are amazing headphones!!
I have been using buds lately while listening to my music which was ok until I tried these! I received the off-white headphones which are perfect for me. These are way more comfortable for me to wear for a longer period of time and offer a superior sound (comparing them to earbuds). They are very lightweight, and the headband and ear cups are not too tight on my head – making them enjoyable to wear for longer periods of time.
Connecting them was pretty easy as it comes with a little instructional paper to get you started, but I also downloaded the app at Google Play to get started. The app also has a Support area with the large instruction manual, videos and some Q&A’s (help). I initially charged the battery for a few hours and found that so far, the battery life is very good. You can get a quick 3-minute charge that gives you ~90 minutes of extra time, or a 10-minute charge that gives you ~5 hours. If you turn off the noise cancelling, it will extend the battery time. When you take them off, they pause and then turn off when not in use.
The headphones come with a short USB Type-C cable but no cube, a headphone cable, and a very nice hardshell carrying case. Super easy to connect to Bluetooth and pairing my phone and music together was such a benefit. After setting them up and checking out some different settings, I spent a good portion of the 1st day wearing them sitting in a chair and listening to CDs and Vinyl – great day!! I also listen thru my Samsung while on my walks. The right side of the headphone is your control area – touch and slide for volume and skipping. If you cup the right side, it will turn off the noise cancelling and allow you to hear people talk. When you uncup it, you go back to listening where you were. It is a touchy area so be careful when gripping the headphones. I love the sound quality in both modes, but the ULT button on the left side offers a stereo type of quality sound for music lovers and great bass and premium noise cancelling that blocks out much of the external noise around you. The sound quality is amazing, and you can customize the sound with some presets or make your own setting.
I am very happy with these and am sure they will get used way more than my earbuds. Great addition to the music room!

items 9: content: I picked up a pair of XM4s a few days before realizing these new ULT Wear headphones were coming out. After wearing the XM4s for a few days, I can safely say that these ULT headphones can produce a much better sound in the bass. The mids and highs are almost exactly the same to my ear. I played with the EQ from the app and tried to make them as similar as possible while listening to the same song and I prefered the sound from the ULT Wear more. Another feature that I noticed is that the ANC on the ULT wear outperformed the XM4s slightly. I had some noise pass through the XM4s while noise cancellation was on so that was a little disappointing and the ambient sound feature made the noise that passed through sound very robotic. After comparing this to the ULT Wear, I found the ANC feature surpasses the XM4s and blocks out more noise even without having music playing. The ambient sound feature also did not distort the noise that was passed through. A small but noticable detail that I appreciated. As far as the looks of both i think they look great. The XM4 have more premium materials that make up the headphones and a softer leatherette that makes up the ear cups. The XM4s sit more comfortably on the head and were not as tight on my head as the ULTs but only slightly. The ULTs do have a nice build but the XM4s do have the edge in that aspect. However this doesnt affect its performance. The ULTs I think are a solid choice for the price especially when compared to the XM4s and Beats Studio Pros. TLDR: ULT Wears over the current flagship models because the quality of sound is the same but the bass is better and the ANC is much better than the XM4s. Quality is good for its price point. ULT>XM4s>Beats Studio Pro

items 10: content: I've been using these Sony ULT WEAR headphones for the past week and although I was initially put off by the feel and sound of these headphones, they've since grown on me after figuring out all the little details / things you can do when paired with the Sony Headphones app. I am going to say that it is an absolute must download so that you can fully experience and enjoy these headphones. Sony provides a QR code on the manual to find the app, but you can also search for it in the iOS and Android stores.
Build Quality - These headphones are really lightweight for their size. The plastics used have this non textured / smooth feel that I'm not really used to headphones having. So they kind of tricked my brain into thinking they feel cheap. But after a week of use, I can honestly say that these headphones are quite touch and the build material is excellent. The headband and earcups are strong and do not creak when you flex them to put them on your head or when moving a cup out of the way to hear something or someone. Which while Im on that subject, these headphones have a cool feature where all you have to do is place your hand over the right ear cup and it will automatically lower the volume of your music or media very low so that you can hear your surroundings.
The headphones have three buttons. Power on /off , ANC/Ambient which toggles noise canceling on and off. and ULT. The ULT button toggles through 3 different presets which to my ears boost bass from almost flat to thump thump on your ears. There is also a 3.5mm headphone jack for connecting the included wire to your devices. I am happy to report that with the included aux cable, you do not have to turn on the headphones for them to work with the cable. So they work passively! but you will not get any of the software features while using them with this method.
Sound Quality - My first thoughts out of the box when I paired them to my phone and started listening to music were something along the lines of Yuuck. They sounded quite muddy and the bass / mids drowned out everything else. But like I said earlier.. downloading the Sony headphones app is an absolute must to use these headphones. It will allow you to customize the EQ to your liking, and it does it quite easily. It will let you tap through various settings and tune it to what you like. It was honestly the coolest and most intuitive equalizer tuning I've experience so far. After setting up the EQ and presets to my preferences , these headphones sound soooo much better and they've grown on me for the past week. Are they the best headphones I've ever heard? No. but the ability to easily and quickly tweak the EQ makes them fun and a joy to use. It's very hard to find 1 pair of headphones that will be perfect for every music genre, movie, podcast listening experience. So being able to tune my listening experience on the fly makes these quite enjoyable. They are very comfortable for extended use, lightweight, and battery life is amazing! Even after a week of casual use, the headphones still show 85% battery remaining.
So would I recommend these headphones? I'm going to say Yes. But only if you're willing to download that app and set them up properly. If you don't want to bother with all of that, then perhaps look at something else.

items 11: content: Have been using these headphones for about 3 weeks now and can honestly say that I'm been blown away by the performance. On opening the box, you are presented with a hard case within which are the headphones themselves, an audio cable and a USB A-C charger cable.
The headphones themselves are well built with comfortable ear pads and are easily adjustable to suit the size and shape of your head! The Sony logo is emblazoned on each side of the head band. The right ear cup is plane, with no connections of buttons whilst the left ear cup has the audio port, the USB port, the on/off button, the noise cancelling button and the all important ULT button.
The headphones were quick and easy to pair with my phone and laptop and offers a consecutive connection to 2 devices. I my case it allows me to use for Teams calls on my lap whilst listening to music on the phone. The Sony Headphones app. offers a plethora of settings including goodies such as auto power off when headphones are removed and setting up a voice assistant.
The app also offers various pre-set equaliser settings as well as allowing you to custom the sound to your ears. The headphones can also be controlled by touch and this can also be set up in the app. Sadly, no NFC.
The sound is great. Nice, deep bass tones, further enhanced by pressing the ULT button, which takes you to a whole new place of audio goodness. The noise cancelling also blew me aware. I use these headphones on the daily commute and can barely hear the Tube!

title: Quick pairing, great sound, excellent noise cancelling
type: REVIEWS
items 12: content: What a great pair of noise canceling headphones. They are lightweight, easy to adjust to your size and very comfortable. Then once you get them set up you instantly get a great sound with different levels of bass at the push of a button.
Before I tested the ULT button I set up the Music Center App and I would highly recommend you do the same. Creating your own equalizer was genius. It walked you through testing by picking what you think sounds the best with multiple options at each phase. Think of it like going to the eye doctor and picking option 1 or 2 and then 3 or 4 and so on until you have built the perfect prescription, only this prescription is for your ears.
Once I had the equalizer set, I thought the sound was great. But there is more! With the click of a button on the left ear called the ULT button you can quickly kick in ULT1 that is deep low frequency or ULT2 that is ultra-bass. So, with each song you can quickly adjust to the best setting for that song.
To immerse yourself in the music the headphones have Sony's premium noise cancelation. If you need to hear something outside of the song, I accidently found a neat feature. If you cup your hands over the headphones, it brings the music slowly down to a quiet level for you. Then pull your hands back and you are right back to listening at the level you were at.
The battery life is also superb. You can get up to 30 hours on a full charge. If you are in a rush, you get 90 minutes on a 3-minute charge and 5 hours on a 10-minute charge. So, the battery life and ease of getting more time are very convenient.
Overall, I gave these headphones 5 stars for the great sound with comfort and would especially recommend them for those that like their bass.

items 13: content: Got these Sony ULT headphones about a week and a half ago. I have a number of similar style and spec headphones over the years from Sony, Bose, and AirPod Pros as well and this ULT set rivals them all...maybe beats them!
Took them on a trip last week and on the airplane flights, these were excellent with the noise cancelling on to draw out the engine noise and annoying toddler behind me on one of the flights. The sound quality was REALLY good too! Piped music through these on my iPhone 13 Pro (stock settings as well as playing around with parameters in the separate downloadable Sony app too). Great deep bass and clear rich sound across various genres. Also connected to my iPad Mini 6 to watch an episode of Masters of the Air on the flight. Sound sync was perfect and action sounds and dialogue were excellent as well.
Headphones come with a nice quality sturdy case and a couple cables (pretty standard). Feel on my head and ears was quite comfortable even for 2+ hours straight. Features are AirPod-like where they stop playing when I remove them from my head. Easy to learn tap functions on outside of right ear piece. And that Sony app probably has too many features and settings, but they are there if you want to tinker for sure.
These are now my go-to headphones for the foreseeable future!

title: Excellent noise cancelling and really good sound

items 14: content: The Sony ULT WEAR noice cancelling headphones offer some very big sound with some setbacks.
For starters, the sound is pretty darn good. I prefer the “Bright” setting with the ULT setting at 1. That’s the sound signature I enjoy, though there are several to choose from within the headphones app including a custom profile for fine tuning. Overall, the apps work pretty good although I do have a criticism I’ll touch on later.
The headphones are light weight and provide decent comfort for long listening sessions. Additionally, the battery life is excellent. Get about 30hrs playback time and charging for just a few minutes will get a few more hours of playback. Awesome feature!
Couple downsides I’m seeing with these headphones are build quality and overall aesthetics. They are mainly plastic and feel cheap. They also do not look premium. The ear cups I find are also fairly cheap. They are some kind of synthetic material and you get a nice greasy sheen on them once taking them off. You can instantly see all your head and ear oils on them and it’s a setback in my book. A different ear cup material would have gone a long way here.
Another thing Sony needs to work on is the amount of prompts while trying to setup the headphones with their app. I got well over 10 prompts about various things. When I get a set of headphones I want to just listen. I’ll download an app, update firmware and that’s all I want to do.
Overall, a nice sounding headset with long battery life, deep bass and lackluster presentation.

The Sony Ult Wear is the successor to the outgoing WH-X910N. Targeted at those who love more bass there is now a dedicated Ult button which offers two levels of bass boost. The overall look and feel are like other Sony over the ear headphones. Included in the box is a case, stereo jack, and USB-C cable. While they don’t feel as solid as premium headphones with more metal and plush materials they do feel well built.
Setup 8/10
You can use them as is, but you are better off installing the app to tune them to your specific preference. As part of the setup, you have options to find the best EQ for you. It works ok, the range of options is limited. It only has options to add more bass and nothing to brighten up the sound for those who prefer to have livelier vocals. Thankfully if you skip that option, you can find EQ presets like bright or mellow. If you need further tuning, you manually adjust a 5-band equalizer. There are also spatial audio options where you can have it take pictures of your ears to adjust automatically to optimize spatial audio for you. However, it requires a subscription to one of five supported streaming services. You also have options for Bluetooth audio to prioritize stability or sound quality. An audio upscaling option called DSEE is available as well to attempt to enhance the quality of low-quality audio. If you want to forgo Bluetooth compression you can use them hardwired via a stereo jack, but there is no option for USB-C audio for newer devices.
Comfort 9/10
For mid-tier headphones the design is very comfortable. The clamping pressure is slightly higher than preferred but not to the point of uncomfortable. The size adjustment is via click adjustments in the band that have a slightly cheap feeling. The earcups are large and should accommodate most ears with lots of cushion. While the earcups don’t feel like they breathe they haven’t caused heat buildup like some headphones can. The top band of the headphones rests directly on your head, unlike some that suspend the headband cushion separately. That said, it has enough cushion to where extended sessions haven’t felt uncomfortable.
Controls 10/10
Sony’s design for headphone controls is likely some of the easiest to use on the market. Controls for power, ULT, and ANC are left as physical buttons, so you don’t have to worry about accidentally changing them or having too many gestures to remember. Controls for track, volume, and conversation are done via gestures to make access quick without needing to see or feel anything. Play and pause is a double tap on the right earcup, changing tracks is a forward or backwards swipe, and an up or down swipe changes volume. If you need to talk to someone for a moment you can just hold your hand over the right earcup, and the volume lowers and ambient mode activates. When done you remove your hand, and everything continues where you had it set. They also have detection for if you are wearing them so you can simply take them off your head and they pause. A little while after that without use they turn off not requiring you to do or remember anything. Control choices are thoughtful and make controlling the headphones natural.
Sound Quality 9/10
Out of the box the headphones have a sound like older Sony headphones from the early 2000s with a darker tone to highs and the bass emphasized. The Ult Wear can work for acoustic and rock with some tuning, but the soundstage will remain shallow. There is no mistaking these are designed for bass heads. If you like electronic, dance, or hip hop you are likely going to be very happy. It’s hard to imagine anyone saying they need more bass. On the default setting the bass is only slightly elevated from neutral. Ult 1 setting can be activated with a single press of the ULT button. This level is likely good for most who love some extra bass. Ult 2 is where it gets into extreme categories. With the right song ULT 2 feels like it is trying to vibrate your skull and makes your ears vibrate. The bass hits hard when needed or smooth and clean with no hint of distortion. If that still isn’t enough bass for you there is a bass boost EQ present. That wasn’t tried as it already felt like keeping it on level 2 for very long was going to result in hearing loss. If your EQ preference changes with mood these have a pretty wide range. No surprise they can’t reach the fidelity and more neutral sound of high-end headphones, but they have a pretty wide range of adjustment while offering far more bass than high end headphones can.
ANC 10/10
Active noise cancelling has been improved a lot over the last few years and Sony. The noise cancelling on the Ult Wear does a great job of cancelling out distracting sounds regardless of if you are trying to relax or get work done. You can sit right net a noisy fan and just hear a low hum. Turn some music on even at a low volume and the noise fades away completely. It even reduces the volume of speech. If you need to get work done in a noise environment, even with people talking, it does a great job of eliminating most and reducing the rest to allow your music to take over without needing to turn the volume up to uncomfortable levels.
Microphone 7/10
The Microphone is probably the weakest area of the Ult Wear. They filter out some background noise but if you talk to someone in a noisy environment they will hear some background noise. The microphones are also used in ambient mode, and it can be set to have your voice played back so speech sounds more natural. The most natural setting is to set voice feedback volume to maximum. It prevents the sound of your voice resonating while allowing more background noises around to be played back as well. Your voice will sill be a bit distance and hollow but thankfully it won’t be resonating in your head like some ambient solutions.
Final Thoughts
The Sony Ult Wear headphones are a solid mid-tier bass forward set of headphones. Sony could make them better with some minor tweaking to the default EQ profile and the find EQ wizard, but the rest is solid. If you are a bass head, even part time, and are in the market for mid-tier headphones with good range then Sony Ult Wear headphones are a solid offering.

items 16: content: I am a huge fan of over ear noise canceling headphones. I work at home, and I live in a neighborhood full of dogs who bark a lot. That and all of the landscapers, all day long. These Sony Ult Wear headphones are amazing, as expected. I also own the Sony WH-1000XM4 headphones, so I’ll sort of compare the two here.
First let me say how relieved I am that Sony gave these an actual name, and not just a number and letter combo. Well, there is a model number, for Sony’s use, but we don’t have to talk about that here. I never really know how to refer to my WH-1000XM4s. It’s way too long to remember and say, that’s for sure. These Ult Wears are very similar in general. For the price point, these are amazing headphones. I got the off white color, which I love. I have a ton of black gear and wear black all the time, so something other than black was more than welcome!
Sony has an app that you can set up your preferences, toggle between Sony headphones, noise canceling vs. ambient sound, equalizer control, etc. The QR code for downloading is on a brief info insert in the box. The case for the Ult Wears is very similar to my WH-1000XM4s.The only thing that is missing is the nylon strap loop on the outside, which I really like. Also missing is the in-flight adapter, which I have never used, but I guess it’s nice to have. The charging cable (SB-A to USB-C) and aux cable jack is inside the case. I like that the case is flat and not bulky. With Sony design, they just do everything with extreme detail. They are very meticulous about design and prefer to minimize waste. There’s no plastic in the box, and the headphones are made of recycled material.
The headphones were very easy to pair with my iPhone. The headphones have a Ult button that when pushed, it makes a boost sound or poof type sound when turned on or off. It’s pretty fun. I am not usually very good at the controls when I’m wearing headphones, but this Ult button is in a spot far enough away from the other buttons on the left side that I can do it without messing everything else up. My favorite way to use these headphones is in noise canceling mode. We have come a long way since the Walkman. Which I still have, by the way.
You can connect these headphones to two different devices at the same time. This comes in handy if I’m listening to something on my iPad and I get a call on my iPhone. Something I want to mention is that when I talk on the iPhone with the headphones, nobody says that I sound far away or weird, or anything negative. The battery life is really good. I’ve had these headphones for about five days. I charged them when I first got them, and I have been wearing them and haven’t had to charge it again. In the headphone app, it shows you how much battery life is left. I still have 89% battery after the several hours I’ve used these. These headphones are comfortable. Possibly more comfortable than WH-1000XM4 for me. The headphones weigh almost the same amount though.
So there you have it, a not technical review of tech gear. I really like these Sony Ult Wears and the off white color!

items 17: content: The headphones are amazing. I got them for remote work and virtual meetings, but they’re so comfortable that I also use them for gaming and listening to music. The ability to decide on the bass is great, but the control over noise reduction is outstanding! If you want to hear people around you talking, you can turn it off and hear them just as clearly as if you weren’t wearing the headphones. Don’t want to hear people around you, turn the noise reduction on and you’ll be in your own world of music. As for the microphone, people can hear me more clearly than with other headsets with a retractable mic.
The battery lasts multiple days of 8 hour use on a single charge, and when it goes low… it literally charges nearly halfway on 5 minutes.

items 18: content: Performance:I wasn’t expecting this kind of effect it has on the bass of my musical catalogue. It has me re-listening to all of my collection of songs, just to hear it in a new light, so to speak. From Daft Punk to Metallica, Wondergirls to Eminem, these ULT’s are worth the dough. Thank you Sony, for making me enjoy my music again after all these years.
Quality:Quite light eventhough it looks bulky, fit & finish is outstanding. Love the case it came in with.
Delivery was quick, seller also took very great care in packing my order. The box comes perfect, no dings whatsoever. Great offer too among other sellers who carry this item. Reccomended seller.

items 19: content: The new Sony ULT WEAR headphones are crazy good. Easily my new favorite set of headphones. I’ve owned a few pairs of high-end headphones. They were all good, but none of them were quite what I had hoped for. Finally…someone put together all the things that matter to me.
I’m rocking Hoobastank as I write this review. The sound on this headset is incredible. The day they arrived, my 17 year old son got home before me and hooked them up to his phone before I had a chance to listen to them. He was wearing them what I walked in and his first comment was “These are the best out of the box headphones I’ve ever seen. They are so clear and the bass is amazing”. I think he summed it up really well. They sound incredible right out of the box. Add in the App and you get a fully customizable listening experience. While you have the option to create custom EQ settings, the presets are pretty great. I was able to find a preset that, when paired with the new ULT bass feature, is everything I’ve been looking for. I don’t know what else to say. They sound fantastic.
The noise canceling is great. Easily cuts out background noise for an immersive listening experience. The ULT Bass settings are crazy. I’m not sure how Sony got that much bass into this package but it’s very impressive. I have it running on the first boost setting for normal listening. It’s too much for me to listen on level 2 all the time but having that extra level when a real banger comes on is awesome. When paired with the right EQ settings, this is easily the best overall sound quality I’ve owned. I can push them to distortion depending on the song type, EQ setting, ULT Bass setting, and volume, but to be honest, the only way you will really distort these is if you do it on purpose. An audiophile would never push all those limits at once.
The touch sensor side of the right muff is really cool. I’ve always been frustrated by finding the buttons on a headset while on the move. No more. The whole side of the right muff is touch sensitive. Just tap it twice to pause, play, answer, hang up. Swipe up/down for volume control, and forward back to repeat/skip. Super easy…not more trying to find a tiny button. Oh, and if you cup your hand over the right muff, it will turn the volume down, turn off noise canceling, and give you immediate access to ambient sound so you can hear another person or your environment. When you remove your hand, it goes right back to where it was. I LOVE this feature. Noise cancelling and BASS setting buttons are on the left muff, but they aren’t hard to find as they are large enough and different shapes.
Comfort is excellent. My biggest complaint with most high-end headphones is that they are HUGE and HEAVY. These are neither. They hit the sweet spot between size and weight. Some people will open them up and complain about how they feel cheap because of the plastic. I’m 100% fine with that because it makes them very comfortable and lightweight. The muffs are just big enough to get a good seal around my ear without swallowing my entire head. Love it.
Battery life is outstanding. I can listen all day, and when they do run down, I can get a couple of hours of listening in a matter of minutes. Sony advertises 30 hours with noise cancellation on, and up to 50 without noise cancellation. I’ve only run them completely down once, and that was on purpose just to see if they recharge to 90 minutes of playtime with a 3-minute charge. They do.
Simply put, I love these headphones. They aren’t cheap, but they also aren’t anywhere near the most expensive things around. They are an excellent balance of design, features, sound quality and price point.

items 20: content: These headphones have literally made my ADHD easier to deal with. I can focus much easier with the noise cancellation feature. Even more so with the adaptable ambient noise system. They fit extremely comfortably and can be worn in bed. The battery life is also something remarkable, providing hours of entertainment and comfort on one hour’s charge. The bass boost is next level!!! One of the best hidden features is the Bluetooth connection allowing you to switch connected devices without pairing the headphones. Would definitely purchase again!

The sound reproduction on these Sony Headphones. I am a picky audiophile with not a large purse. You will not go wrong with these Sony Headphones!! This Pair of Sony - ULT WEAR Wireless Noise Canceling Headphones replaced my Sony MDR-ZX110 which are still fine. I needed a second pair so thought I would step it up. The ULT Wear are superior.

items 24: content: (review submitted 2 weeks after receiving) If you're after the bass quality, goods to sayo. It has two levels of bass, the second one gives you a more immersive and impressive beat esp when listening to music. Noise cancellation is also a plus for me, but the Airpods Pro 2nd Gen still is my choice when it comes to noise cancellation. Tried both using by walking outside sa busy street and I could still hear some recognizable amount of noise coming from cars and motorcycles with Sony Ult Wear. The ear cushions are also durable, hindi nababakbak and nag p-peel. I'd still use it for work esp pag sa coffee shops, working out (make sure to wipe with tissue after use), or travelling.
