items 3: content: For the price, this robot simply does not perform as expected. The cleaning performance is decent but the side brush simply spins too fast for hard floors. It flings debris away from the robot so unless it cleans the edge after flinging debris to the wall it may not get picked up. Furthermore for some stupid reason the robot is programmed to not clean near it’s charging base and it likes do leave debris near the base. Also, the full bin sensors are practically useless as they stop the vacuum at no more than 50% full, and if you turn them off the vacuum doesn’t stop itself from starting a new job now with a recent update. Most annoyingly though the robot likes to get trapped in bathrooms, even if the door is fully open and can’t be shut by the robot accidentally, until it fully runs out of battery power, requiring manual charging. However, if you notice the robot doing this and manually send it home (even if that’s the current task) the robot finds is way out relatively easy. The dual brushes also seem to be susceptible to easy damage from hair wrap and getting caught on rug edges. iRobot has also not been helpful with these issues with navigation. If you want an robot vacuum, this is NOT it. I personally will never be buying a iRobot and looking to it’s competitors in the near future.

items 4: content: I'm so disappointed with this. I've been hoping for years to get a robot vac, and this is just... sad. The best way I can describe its performance is like a "carpet hoky" / "carpet and floor sweeper", which I could have gotten for a lot less money. - It keeps getting itself stuck, which is baffling b/c I'm sitting there thinking "well, you got yourself in there... you should be able to get yourself out!" - At least twice now, it has gone into areas I explicitly had marked as "keep out" zones. - It won't dock reliably, which goes back to basic theory of "you got yourself out of there, you should be able to get yourself back in!" It's like watching a drunk try to park a car. - It also leaves a bunch of debris around it's own base; so basically it doesn't clean up after itself. - This doesn't always pick up all the stuff on the floor - and no, it's not an absurd amount of dirt or debris, nor is the bin full or the filter dirty. - I have to assist it all the time, e.g. it thinks it's stuck in an open area, or it thinks it's wheel is stuck on specific part of the rug where there is literally nothing there (believe me, I have checked repeatedly). - One day the "smart map" just decided on its own to delete a room divider that had been there for over a month. Worst of all, iRobot "support" has been giving me the runaround. They don't understand what I'm saying, I have trouble at times understanding what they're saying, and they just fobbed me off by telling me I just need to give it more time to "learn." Yeah. It's had almost 2 months now, and it's actually getting worse. They don't care that I am spending loads of time just to get them on the phone, and then having to repeat myself over and over of what's wrong, etc. I do actually have other things to do. They don't respect me or my time. I feel really duped and cheated. I guess I should have listened to myself when I thought "hmmm... seems iRobot is not selling this model at all anymore; that seems odd". Thanks a lot for the rip off, iRobot.

items 5: content: I bought this a year ago. I have had a 500 series for years, but could not replace a broken part (due to covid) so decided to upgrade. Two replacements drives later, I wish I had never spent the money. This machine doesn't dock well, so does not charge well. Often when I go to use it, it's dead. It starts to charge and then stops. Twice now it has required the entire drive to be replaced as it reads full, when it is empty, washed and clean. Because of the charging issues the wifi connection to the phone is not an available option. I spend a significant amount of time fussing with this to make it work. When it did work it was good. I have since replaced the part that was broken on my 500 series and use that regularly, as the i7 spends more time charging or waiting for a part then running. The customer service has been good all the times I've spoken to them, and unfortunately that has been a lot. If you want a robot vacuum go for the simple model. It doesn't have all the features, but it runs, vacuums and cleans your floors. Avoid this model, it is just an expensive paperweight.

items 6: content: I have had an I7 and an M6 for about 11 months now. About a week ago, the vacuum started vacuuming all the rooms at about a 10 degree angle. See the video attached. The video shows that over the course of less than 10 feet, it moves over a foot to the left , hitting the cabinet. It does this in every room. So the unit is not longer navigating correctly and is missing spots because of this. I have worked with both level 1 and level 2 on the support line you find on iRobot. After a couple days of working with them and sending videos, they tried to tell me the unit is working properly. If you look at all the advertisement for this unit, it uses the camera to uniformly, and work adjust to your environment. Both units have been cleaning parallel and perpendicular to the walls and furniture for 11 months, and now the vacuum cleaning at an angle does show something is wrong. I do love having a robotic vacuum, but iRobot products are not cheap compared to their competitors. If this is how the company treats its customers, then I will have to stop talking iRobot's praises to everyone I know, and sharing my current experience with them, and look at other companies that care about helping their customers when there are problems.

items 7: content: The robot worked well for about a year and since then has had numerous issues. After about a year and a half it got to the point where it performed a successful clean about half of the time despite full cleans of the robot. Now at the two year mark it fails to dock every time even following a full clean of the robot and factory reset. The robot will start driving up the clean base and turn right and drive off the ramp every time. I suspect it may be due to poor design where the robot scratches up the clean base window due to lack of common sense when designing the robot. To spend 700 dollars on something that works well for about a year is disappointing. Then to be told it will cost $139 for them to attempt to fix it is frustrating. I would never buy an iRobot product again. Also the email customer support is terrible.

items 8: content: Very disappointed for a $600 product. I expected much better. It is absolutely not hassle free and in the time I spend constantly trying to trouble shoot it, I could have just vacuumed my house the old fashioned way. I will click specific rooms to be cleaned on the app and it cannot find the rooms. Just roams around and then goes back home. My map is correct. There are no barriers. There is no reason for it to go the opposite direction of the room I picked. It also inexplicably gets "lost" and just cancels the whole job and goes home. The software is not great-I expected it to be much smarter. I liked my stupid eufy better because I could just hit run and even though he bounced around with no clear pattern, I just let him run himself and hours later somehow the house was clean with no further interventions on my part. I'm constantly having to restart iRobot and it's annoying that he needs to go back to his base in order to try again, with a several minute delay. I would never spend this much again on such a poor product.

items 9: content: Disclaimer; this is not a review, this is a rant. I am so fed up with this piece of shit that i cannot write up an objective review. Let me just describe what you need to do to clean two rooms that the robot cannot reach because of different elevations.
1) transport robot to room A.
2) press start
3) aaaah f****, somehow it must not have charged up the battery last night.
4) transport robot back to charging station
5) because there is not an immediate response/feedback from the robot if it actually charges i am not really sure if it does charge. somehow the button is blinking white for 10 seconds, but then stops. i have no clue
6) wait 30 minutes
7) transport robot to room A.
8) press start, aaah, now it beeps, must be working
9) hmmm, it should be cleaning by now, no? lets press the start button again. 200 miliseconds before i press the button it actually would have started cleaning, but now i pressed it again and it stopped.
10) kick the robot, as hard as you can. also punching it is satisfying.
11) press start again. thinking to myself: man, this is a ridiculous amount of time until it actually starts cleaning. what the f*** is this guy doing for so long? probably connecting to wify, who tf needs that shit anyway?
12) robot cleans and stops.
13) despite stopping, the robot now uses up the whole battery, probably mining bitcoin
14) bring back robot to charging station.
15) again i have no clue if its charging or not. to be sure i hit it as hard as i can
16) start back at 1) for room B
TLDR:
1) you dont know if it charges the battery or not, if you miss the charging station by 1 nanometer it does not charge.
2) after completing a cleaning job in a room it will just sit there and empty its battery
3) feedback loop for anything is infuriatingly long.
4) i had a many years older model from roomba which worked just fine, it had none of the fancy features, but it charged and cleaned.

items 10: content: I bought this to save us some time with keeping our house picked up. I thought it would be a good investment. When we use it, overall it does a good job at cleaning the floors. I will say that it does have a tendency to get stuck on furniture, get in places it isn't supposed to be, and bump into walls. My husband says that it is like having another kid, but I don't know that I would go that far. I like that it connects to my phone and that you can set keep out zones with the mapping feature. This actually did not work on my old android phone, but I am able to view the map with my iPhone now. One of the biggest downsides to using this is having to remove everything from the floor in order to use it. It just isn't that smart to avoid things so you really have to scour the house to make sure there's no potential obstacles before running in. Because of this, I find that using my vacuum stick tends to be much more convenient. If we didn't have kids, this would probably be great for us.

title: Gets stuck, needs floor cleared, inconvenient.

items 11: content: I have run it twice a week for less than 2 years. All tile floors with 2 small area rugs. Probably about 2200 sq ft of vacuuming. At first it was great. A challenge to program and I never could get it to work with 2 separate IPhones, only liked one of them, but it worked flawlessly. Now 22 months into the product the App doesn't always work, won't clean what I ask it to clean, takes FOREVER to charge to finish the job, and the battery will charge, then indicate it's not charged. Don't know if this is a software problem or a Roomba problem. I empty it myself and clean everything after each use. For $700 I would think it should last longer than 22 months. I guess my expectations were too high for the product. I am disappointed that one of the more expensive "Robots" is not made better. Or maybe the marketing plan is for it to stop working after 2 years and the consumer buys another one.

items 12: content: I replaced a Neato with the i7 when the Roomba first came out with the self-empty docking station. While I was impressed at how much quieter the i7 was vs. the Neato, and also how well it cleaned (vs. the chaos pattern of the Neato), the dependability was not what I would expect for a robot costing over a thousand dollars. My first unit threw error codes many times -- lost its way (couldn't figure out how to pass through an open doorway and aborted the cleaning jobs), and finally went into a boot loop and had to be sent back for repair (shortly after the warranty expired). The refurb unit that replaced it is doing o.k., but it still took 15-16 cleaning/training runs to map the approximately 1600 sq. ft. first floor. It occasionally cannot make it back to the docking station for no apparent reason (not blocked by any obstruction). For as long as these have been around (almost 20 years), I expect better. I would only recommend these to friends who have small, very simple floorplans.
