detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: Small and easy to use once I read the info. Out of the box at 50% charge so back in for a full charge. That was quick with supplied USB C cable.
Once paired up to my iPhone the Sony app was easy to use. I tried different earplug things and 4 different sets are supplied, the app helps you decide sound leakage. All sets are comfy although walking around I required the smallest set so as not to fall out.
Sound quality is really up there with my wf1000xm5 and wh1000xm5. Listening to David Bowie’s track Win was fantastic, sound quality and Bluetooth had no fall outs. The unusual design of the earphones did take a bit of time to use properly. Trying to tuck the small “tail” into my ears had me positioning mirrors so I could see them in my ears. Once perfected it’s like second nature and really does help them stay put.
Battery life has improved by using the earphones and far outlasts the publicised time.
Design is slightly quirky but works once used to it. I own many Sony products and the ease of use helps immensely.
I will keep these earphones close as my son has a habit of borrowing them and not returning, I lost my wh1000mx4 and wf1000mx4 that way. Never been disappointed with Sony products. Defenately recommend the linkbuds fit, for the price. The build quality is very good although the charging box is a touch thick and does show when in a pocket of jeans, suppose helps you not to loose them.
Really happy with them and use them for train journeys or walking the dogs. I keep my others for home hi-fi listening and these would be just as good.

title: Excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, good value
detailedReviews 2: content: The LinkBuds come in a nice solid charging case which looks good, and guessing by the feel of it will be good at not only protecting your earbuds, it probably can take a bit of a knock if dropped by accident..not tried that.
Connecting the LinkBuds to my S23 phone, PC and Sony NW-A45 Walkman was easy and straightforward with no issues, can be connected to two different sources at the same time. Tested the range and actually managed to get them working around the whole house having left my phone upstairs and going into the garden. Think the furthest distance was around 40 feet so very happy with that. The Sony app gives you various options around controlling the sound and also setting of the 'Taps' on the buds or close to your ear for changing music, modes and accepting calls.
Took a couple of phone calls as well and call quality was great. I could hear callers no problem and the callers said I was nice and clear at their end. Did that both inside and outside my home. I think the ambient sound modes and noise cancelling help with that.
For me these LinkBuds are the most comfortable and best fitting ones I have tried, having tried quite a few other brands that don't come close. Been out for walks and runs and not once have I had to re-position them in my ears, which I almost always had to do with the others. I'm putting this down to the soft ear supporters which you don't feel at all, and a snug fit into my ear canal. Longest I've had them in my ears was about 3 hours or so with absolutely no discomfort, these definitely are now my goto earbuds.
The sound quality is excellent, nice punchy Bass that doesn't kill the mid and high tones. If you like your music loud, these can cope without getting distorted, but that may depend on what you're playing your music from and the recording format. Setting your palyer to use the LDAC codec, if you can, does make a difference.
If you're looking for a premium quality pair of earbuds you definitely cannot go wrong with these, especially at their price point..well done Sony.

title: Comfortable, best fitting, excellent sound quality
detailedReviews 3: content: I often listen to music & podcasts at home whilst the family are watching TV & use a choice of two Sony headphones with & without noise cancelling functions. They both have excellent sound quality but away from home I won’t use them as they look a little clumsy when travelling & I would prefer something smaller & less intrusive. I’ve always been a bit apprehensive using ear buds as I wrongly thought that they would be uncomfortable to wear & they would easily fall out.
I now have Sony Link Buds for when I’m travelling & my perception of this type of system has changed. They came in small but sturdy lidded box with a rather novel inner liner similar to a small chest of drawers, one drawer contained the charging lead, one drawer held the instructions & another drawer a selection of spare ear inserts. All very neat & clever.
The buds are contained in a lidded plastic travel box which doubles up as the charger, a small but sturdy container that would easily store in a pocket, handbag or rucksack. I simply removed the buds from the box & inserted them into my ears, I was amazed how comfortable they feel & how secure they are, I scanned the QR code from the box to get instructions, the buds connected up to Bluetooth extremely quickly & I chose a podcast.
Within seconds they are working perfectly, the whole process was incredibly seamless, typical Sony. Sound quality was surprisingly good & although I deliberately shook my head vigorously to see how secure they would be, nothing came out of place. I would have no issues walking around with these buds in my ear, they are comfortable & sound quality is excellent. My attitude to ear buds has completely changed & they are my preferred choice when walking the dog or travelling around.
They come with spare inserts to suit all ages & size of ears, the charging cable is short enough to carry around when travelling & long enough to plug into a USB socket without it being an issue, a charging light is mounted externally on the outer base of the holder. The Sony app is available if you wish to back up your settings & for tips. The buds & case are the usual high standards & build quality you expect from Sony. I highly recommend these link buds.

title: Superb sound quality, convenient, delightful experience
detailedReviews 4: content: Smartly packaged with little drawers including an extra 3 different sized ear bud tips for correct fittings, and a short charging lead (I would find a longer charging lead more helpful, but this is not a showstopper). The compact marble effect case is very neat and stylish. The buds themselves are light and very comfortable to wear for long periods and I have not experienced any instances of them falling out. Following the provided Start Up QR code and adding the Sony ‘Sound Connect’ App, the link to my iPhone was immediate and has been completely stable. The Sound Connect App has some very useful help including an equaliser to adjust the sound to your own preferences, and for different uses (eg music or speech prioritisation). The pause in playback when the wearer speaks is excellent and the automatic return to playback is faultless. When activated this does mean the wearer is prevented from singing along out loud, but no one wants to be disturbed by my poor singing ability! There is an ability to change the playback control (eg volume, forward track etc) between the ear buds (left/right) to suit individual preferences and I found these commands worked best when tapping beside the bud rather than tapping the buds themselves, but I noticed an option to adjust the sensitivity. The option to accept/decline calls using head gestures (nod/shake) works well.
Most importantly the sound quality is first class and the noise cancelling cuts background sound while still allowing speech to pass through - with options to adjust the sensitivity. Diary and message announcements are very clear. The battery life is super, I have regular days where I spend 4-6 hours travelling by train and I have had no problems with battery life. All in all, stylish, small and easily carried in a pocket, comfortable to wear for long periods with excellent sound quality and a good battery life, with lots of functionality for the user to adapt for their own preferences. I recommend them.

title: Comfortable, secure fit, surprisingly good sound
detailedReviews 5: content: They may not be a style icon, but the sound quality delivered by these new Sony LinkBuds Fit is outstanding!
Let’s address the bad news first… the disappointing appearance! Upon unboxing the item, I was surprised to find what I thought was dirt and grime smeared over the charging case, but after a couple of wipes I soon realised it was in fact a poorly executed marbled plastic effect. Very disappointing and totally unnecessary! Plain gloss would have been more than satisfactory. Secondly the supporting arm on the ear bud, whilst effective, does not score highly on style! And finally, I found the proportions of the charging case to be fairly clunky, you certainly won’t forget you’ve put this in your pocket.
However, if like me you’d rather have a memorable listening experience than looking cool walking down the street then these earbuds are seriously worth considering.
I’ve used these inside the home, office and workshop. Outside I’ve used them walking in the countryside, busy urban areas and whilst on public transport. And for me they have excelled in every environment, largely due to the adaptive hearing feature which can automatically interpret your surroundings and switch between ‘noise cancelling’ and ‘ambient sound’ modes.
If you are walking along a busy road with lots of traffic the ambient sound will ensure you don’t get complacent and squished by an oncoming vehicle. If you find yourself on a busy bus with lots of background chatter, the noise cancelling will allow you to enjoy your current audiobook intimately and with crystal clear clarity.
The clear, rich tone delivered by the earbuds is a delight whether you prefer listening to spoken word such as audiobooks & podcasts or instrumental music & singing. Personally, I’ve enjoyed the noise cancelling feature far more than I thought I would, it’s a triumph!
A few of other points to consider for me we’re that although very comfortable to begin with I do start to get mild earache after around an hour or so of continuous use. Also, battery life was a little shorter than I expected… but maybe that’s because I’ve been enjoying them so much!? They are easy to clean which is something often overlooked, and the standard tapping feature works well for adjusting volume, skipping tracks etc.
Overall, they have exceeded expectations on sound quality and I’m confident I’ll be enjoying for many years to come! Next time though Sony… drop the dodgy marble effect!!

title: Outstanding sound quality, adaptive hearing excels
detailedReviews 6: content: Your Sony LinkBuds Fit are presented in a wonderful little box which immediately introduces you to the LinkBuds experience. Upon opening the package, the first thing you see is a QR code which will take you to set up instructions to start using your Sony LinkBuds straight away. Simply set up a Bluetooth connection with your chosen device and your away. It also explains how to use the ‘Sound Connect’ program. This simple introduction explains how different tap movements on the left or right LinkBud can provide different functions. Once you’ve spent, literally, a few seconds making the initial set up you can then download a full manual for the WF-LS910N which seems to explain everything that you might need to know from connection to charging plus loads of other stuff. But don’t be discouraged by any complexities because you can easily refer to any section when you might need to.
With your phone or tablet, you can use Sony’s ‘Sound Connect’ app to set up your LinkBuds Fit. It can check that you are wearing your them correctly and enables a number of set up features so that you can be sure that your LinkBuds are being used to their full capability whatever your situation. It gives excellent information and advice and provides access to several compatible music streaming providers that you might like to use.
360 Reality Audio is also shown and explains how it uses Sony’s object-based sound technology. This demonstrates how your musical sounds can be placed into a 360 degree spherical sound field which provides a fantastic surround experience. It really does take your listening enjoyment to a new and exciting level. You must try it; I hope that you’ll be as impressed as I was.
The box that your LinkBuds arrive in also has a couple of tiny drawers in it which houses a charging cable, some product information and three extra different size earbuds so you can adjust the LinkBuds to suit your own exact requirements.
Aside from all of this, the Sony LinkBuds Fit are a great quality Bluetooth in ear product. I found that they sat very comfortably in my ears and I would say that they are ideal for most situations whether that is indoors, washing the car, jogging or just generally out and about. Also, take a little time to read how to take and respond to phone calls.
The excellent sound quality is everything that you’d expect from Sony. The software allows you to choose different sound options within the Ambient Sound Control and change or include settings to suit your own specific requirements. Sony LinkBuds certainly get my vote.

title: Great quality Bluetooth, comfortable, excellent sound
detailedReviews 7: content: When you open the marble effect charging case you are presented with a neat set of Link Ear Buds, Charging took me no time and ran for over five hours in total. I did note however that the ear buds discharge the charge at different time levels, which may be an issue but you can view the battery levels on the Link Ear Buds App and top up as required. I positioned the ear buds as recommended in my ears, and you have to slightly twist the ear bud to secure them in your ear. I like the fact that that they don't have to be rammed down your ears to make sure that they don't fall out. I was very impressed by the clever engineered design. There is a small silicon hook that holds the ear bud in place which works really well. I kept these in my ears for several hours and almost forgot I had them in my ears as they were so ultra light and amazingly comfortable. The only slight negative I noted was the fact that they do protude out slightly so not very discrete. The set up was a doddle and I didn't really need the paperwork which was just as well as the writing was just too small. I used the QR code on the box which was a very quick set up which also loaded the Link Ear Buds App. The sound quality and frequency range was just outstanding and I tried this over several genres of music. The noise camcelling is impressive and even cuts out talking of anyone standing near to you. One feature I really like was that there are no fiddly buttons to mess around with, as the ear buds start and stops when you put the ear bud in your ear and remove them. I tested the Bluetooth range by walking around my house several metres from the music source and experienced no drop off. Overall I was very impressed by the very clever engineered design by Sony. The comfortable fit and pitch perfect sound exceeded my expectations.

title: Clever design, comfortable, outstanding sound quality
detailedReviews 8: content: I was immediately impressed by the look of these Link buds, aesthetically pleasing, well built and robust. I also found them comfortable to wear which is unusual for myself because I normally find bunds become irritating after a short while but these were very combatable even after prolonged use and activity.
The initial setup took quite a long time due mainly too the software update. I found the sound connect app easy to download and for the most part okay to use. The tap function of the buds is a great idea but requires patience to set up The tap function was a bit inconsistent, occasionally not working although it did seem to improve with use.
I had already backed up my ear analysis so used them to set up these buds which was relatively easy to accomplice.
I played both 360 Reality audio and conventional audio through my iPhone. The 360 audio was amazing and was everything i had hoped for brilliant. The conventional sound from my iTunes library was equally impressive, clear tones and a rich deep base that was not overdone. I tried different equalizer settings to achieve a desired listening mode, down to taste obviously.
The sound quality was very much appreciated and surprising given the size of these buds and again really comfortable to wear .I've always preferred on ear headphones but thes are a great alternative for me.
To sum up, great sound, very compatible with perhaps a little more work on the touch function required but a great addition to the Sony family and will recommend them to anyone who likes great sound while working out well done.

title: Amazing 360 audio, comfortable, great sound
detailedReviews 9: content: Just to be clear upfront I am a 64 year old male with some hearing loss. That places specific needs on any tech I use. More later. Also I have previously used top of the range Sony buds so expectations were high.
The earbuds come packaged in a very neat and and robust package which when opened contains an even smaller hard charging case. This cube like box has an onyx like appearance and is barely larger than the buds themselves.
As I usually do I attempted to set them up without reference to any user guide. This was achieved very quickly following the usual Bluetooth set up.
The earbuds themselves are very light and comfortable fitted perfectly with the fitted tips. Other tips of various sizes were also included. As a user of hearing aids I am expecting to use the buds for only a few hours per day but still need them to fit with comfort.
As soon as I put the buds in the surrounding noise just seemed to disappear with the default settings.
Again on the default settings music sound quality was just ok. Switching from my hearing aids often proves a challenge and this lead me to download and install the Sony Sound Connect in order to play with the custom options.
The App can be as simple as adjusting the equaliser settings which for me greatly improved the vocal clarity I was seeking. That said the App also leads you through an extensive suite of customisation activities. Depending on your audio source the 360 degree sound set up provides a brilliant sound stage to enjoy your music.
I have only begun to experiment but the automation of location switching and the range of noise cancellation features are outstanding.
For a “budget” set of earbuds these perform brilliantly and are supported by an excellent App which allows you to tune things to your own needs. As mentioned at the beginning these tools allow even a challenged listener to optimise their listening.

title: Brilliant sound, excellent app, customisable listening
detailedReviews 10: content: I was impressed with the quality feel of the packaging and noticeable lack of plastic.
After admiring the lightweight buds I put them on charge whilst I read up on how to use them.
After only a short time they were ready. It’s definitely worth trying the different sized tips to get the one that’s best suited to you. I soon forgot that I was wearing them as there is no hard surface contacting your ear. Once placed they felt secure and all I had to do was enjoy the amazing sound, from such a tiny speaker. I was hearing sounds that I had previously only heard from my over ear headphones. The ambient and noise cancelling features work very well, whether walking along a busy road or in a noisy office.
It is easy to connect to two devices at the same time, on one occasion, this was my laptop and my phone. The phone switched to silent, playing my music, whilst working and easily answering a call. Nobody is none the wiser (if you’re careful with what you say) that it may not be a work call!
Really like the fact that you can change the volume, skip track with just a couple of taps to the side of your head, no need to tap the buds themselves. It’s fun to answer, or reject calls just by nodding or shaking your head. Something I first tried out by having my wife call me when she was stood in front of me.
I’m looking forward to using these buds more and more, and they are already my go to accessory when I want music on the go, whether that is indoors or out.

title: Amazing sound, comfortable, easy controls
detailedReviews 11: content: I purchased this product the summer of 2023. I had been in a severe need of a good quality pair of earbuds, and after doing a great deal of research, I came across the Sony-LinkBuds S True Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds. The headphones needed to do the following to meet my standards:
- Properly fit my small ears
- Not slip out of my ears after a few minutes to an hour of wearing the buds
- Remain comfortable while wearing them for more than three hours
After over a year of use, I can honestly say that this is the best pair of earbuds made by Sony that you can buy for a great price point. The buds come with a variety of spare tips that you change out for your comfort levels. The noise cancelling is excellent, little to no sound slips through. Using the equalizer in the app that the buds are programmed for allows me to increase the bass (personal preference). Tapping on the sides of the earbuds allows me to switch from noise cancelling to "staying" mode (the mode that allows you to hear your surroundings. The headphones are frequently updated with new software from the app, ensuring all is working properly.
The battery life also lasts me 8-9 hours or more of consistent use.
Overall, I highly recommend this product.

title: Best Sony earbuds for small ears, great ANC
detailedReviews 12: content: These are some very impressive earbuds. To start with the packaging they came in was very easy to open and modern and looked very sleek. Set up was very simple. I’d previously downloaded the Sony headphones app and I simply put them in my ears, it began searching, it connected and it was as simple as that. I appreciated that I was given a choice of four different sizes of in ear covers and I had a try on before deciding upon the right size for myself. I’ve been using them several times a day and haven’t encountered any issues. I find them very comfortable, very sleek and the box that they charged in is very Sturdy and elegant looking. I appreciate the customisable covers that were available for purchase, which I did. I connected them to 2 devices simultaneously and I have found the switching between devices utterly seamless and extremely impressive. As noise cancelling, it is very effective. I tested it by turning it off and on and putting a fan on and I went on I could barely hear the fan at all. The sound is great, it sounds very rich and full. I’ve been messing around with various equalisation settings finding the right one for me which is a nice feature. So overall they are an excellent product and would recommend anyone looking for a good pair of earbuds to give these a go.

title: Great value, amazing sound, easy to use
detailedReviews 14: content: I wanted a pair earbuds that I could use with my Android phone, iPad and laptop. The things that primarily matter to me are: sound quality, comfort, decent battery life and bang for buck. After researching thoroughly I decided to go for the Sony Linkbud S earbuds - and I'm really glad I did. The comfort is superb and the sound well rounded and full.
Although noise cancellation wasn't high on my priority list initially, I was impressed by the Linkbud S' in this department. Haven't tried them on a plane yet, but the noise cancellation does a great job of drowning out the TV if I'm using one of my devices for some private listening.
The downloadable app provides a wealth of fine tuning options to get the earbuds sounding just how you want and the comfort, even for extended use is great. My experience using the Linkbud S earbuds for phone calls is pretty limited, but they seem to work pretty well.
I haven't tried other brands of earbuds so providing a comparative review is not possible, but in my opinion I really don't need to look anywhere else. These tick all the right boxes.

detailedReviews 15: content: The link buds have turned out to be stunning, the box they arrive in is refreshingly fully recyclable, and this is outstanding considering the clever anD elegant design. The charging/travel box is well produced and stylish and extremely practice. Now the Link Buds fit are easily Bluetooth with my phones, both Sony and another android phone. Follow on the link to the app via the IR code on the packaging, swift easily done. The link buds fit fit easily and comfortably in the ear and have different fittings fit most ear sizes. The ear buds easily Bluetooth to my phone with lovely voice saying pairing in my ear, and then it was paired. These Link Buds Fit have to be the best ear buds I have used, the sound quality was fantastic, clear sound, great depth of base, noise cancelling was excellent, does cut all sound out, but enough to give a a 360 degree sound. The control of the function of the buds takes a bit of getting used too, one two to five taps allows you to alter all essentials, sound, noise cancelling etc, these ear buds are probably the best ear buds I have ever used, and I have had a few. You will not disapointed if you purchase.

title: Stunning sound, excellent noise cancelling, comfortable fit
detailedReviews 16: content: I did think at first, they are just another ear pod that will just feel loose and will fall out, but Sony have done a clever thing with these LinkBuds Fit.
They are not inside my ears; they seem to fit just outside the ear canal. The clever "twist and stay" mechanism is quite simply a game changer for me.
I have not been a fan of inner ear pods before, the only ones I prefer are the over the ear. I have tested inner ear pods before, and they were just ok.
After a while you forget they are in your ear, with music sounding extremely crisp and clear. Sony claim these are noise cancelling so I put that claim to the test. I started to listen to some meditation music and then through my SRS-XP700 I started play some other type of music. I closed my eyes, and I could barely hear the SRS-XP700 which was next to me. Some family members called up to me, but I didn't hear them! I switched off noise cancelling and you can really tell the difference.
I am really considering switching to these for when I want to do my meditation!
PROS
* The noise cancelling really does work!
* The ear pods stay in, even with me shaking my head, or poking them to see if I can dislodge them but they don't fall out.
* Extremely easy to use and set up.
* Easy to charge the charger and the lights on the charger tell you when to charge.
* You can use them with your mobile phone with the built-in mic.
* It comes with some spare rubber ear moulds, and in three sizes.
CONS
* I would have liked to hear a beep to indicate it is connected to the Bluetooth device or a small led light to indicate it is connected like most other headsets do.
* The paper documentation supplied, like many still, is too small to see. I would have liked to see a bigger print option when you order them.

title: Noise cancelling works, secure fit, extremely easy
detailedReviews 17: content: The new LinkBuds Fit are packaged in a smart eco friendly box with a charging cable and different size ear buds along with the instruction booklet.
The actual buds have a clever white magnetic charging case that they fit snugly into with an led indicator to show if battery is low or being charged.
As soon I took the buds out of the charging case my mobile phone instantly detected them and connected up seamlessly as I already had the Sony Sound Connect app installed.
The buds fitted very comfortably into my ears and sounded amazing straight from the off.
The clarity and depth of sound is very very good and voice recognition works very effectively on both Hey Google and Alexa
Noise cancelling does a wonderful job of keeping outside noise at bay with a simple tap of the buds to turn on and off.
Overall I've been very impressed with these new LinkBuds from Sony and would definitely recommend to my friends and family.

The battery play time with noise cancelling is 5.5 hrs but there is no wireless charging.Theres a fast charge that gives 1 hour listening time.Case has additional 3 charges stored. The buds have some water/ sweat resistance. Im still getting use to the tap feature which now responds to tapping the area near the bud not just on the bud. This is supplemented with voice and gesture control. title: Step up, great fit, clear sound, good ANC
detailedReviews 19: content: Upon opening the box everything about these headphones screams quality. The charging case looks amazing and has a marble effect it is well built and compact. Opening the case the earphones look fantastic they are a nice size and fit my ear perfectly the little silicone nub is great and stops them falling out and makes you feel secure. The sound quality is what you expect from sony tight bass and clear sharp mids and highs. The app does a great job of enabling to change many options of passive sound or noise cancelling and eq settings then you have a great option of enabling pause upon hearing your voice which is amazingly useful. The noise cancelling is also what you would expect from sony it blocks out ambient sound well to fully immerse you in the crystal clear sound that they produce. I would definitely recommend them they if you love music they are what you need.

detailedReviews 20: content: I wish I could give these a 5-star review, but there are a couple of issues that prevent me from doing so. What I like about these are the excellent ANC functionality, great sound quality, and comfort. They're leaps and bounds above the JBL's they replaced in these aspects. What I dislike is the shorter Bluetooth range and battery life compared to the JBL's. Sony claims up to 6 hours with the ANC on, but the best I've gotten from a full charge is about 4 hours. Bluetooth range is about 25% less and head position makes a big difference. I'm an auto technician by trade, and sometimes find myself contorted under a dash and these will often lose connectivity, even with my phone only a few feet away, whereas the JBL's never did. For most people, these will likely be just fine, but they're a bit lacking for me.

detailedReviews 21: content: I am a long-time Airpods user however they finally died after 7 years. I used to sleep with them in every night but was looking for noise cancelling headphones so I bought the WH1000xm4, which I was so happy with that I decided to get the Linkbuds S (I'm a student and the WF1000xm4 didn't seem worth it for the price).
Even across Apple devices they are very intuitive, and although I wish you could further adjust the controls on each they have been fantastic! Noise cancelling is incredibly impressive for such small headphones, and the ambient sound is really good. I didn't think I needed an app with so many settings that I could adjust for the earbuds but I've genuinely loved the custom EQ and being able to adjust the ambient sound and other controls. Sound quality is a 10/10 and the battery life is great, just such a convenient pair of headphones! I've been fully converted to a earbuds user now

detailedReviews 22: content: Amazing!!!
Dont sleep on this. If you are a mucisian or someone that enjoys high fidelity music, this is a no brainer, specially if on sale. BuT! Its worth the price in my opinion. Has LDAC codec! Make sure you turn it on on your bluetooth setting once connected. I feel that bad reviews on this item may come from a place of misunderstanding and not using to full potential. Download the sony app! You can EQ to near perfection. I googled EQ settings for it and found a harman kardon target graph, and wow! Just be aware that if you have a little knowledge about how to set up, you're in for a treat! Not even the MX4 buds have the sound capabilities as these do. The mx4's have better ANC, but these are not too far behind. Only weak spot is call clarity, if there is too much noise, the other person will hear you far away. Other than that, these are def a winner. Again, get to know them!

These felt great out of the box. The sound is amazing, better than the Jabras I had before, even though the Jabras were also great. Controls for pausing a song and skipping to the next song are simple. Easily charged. No trouble with pairing the device, although I did have to search down a video since I bought these refurbished and only received a piece of paper with sony's customer service url. Function, appearance--everything looks like new. Overall, then, excellent product.

detailedReviews 24: content: For everyday use they have all the features I think I need. The ANC works well for office use, but havent tried yet in a noisier environment. I had no issues with the music quality at any time.
When running, they stay in comfortably without having to worry about them getting loose. The audio passthrough did pick up the wind noise when I tested them, but wasn't unusable.
Battery life is acceptable, I don't do much long duration listening so didn't have an issue with that, the case and buds feels solid but a little plastic-y
However, the Sound Connect app, in the current version (Nov24), needs to allow a lot more customisation for what you can do with the controls and it feels like I always need to go into it to change a setting when I want to listen to something

detailedReviews 25: content: They stayed in my ears longer than any others have. They still managed to fall out tho, even changing the ear peices. I liked that when I talked the music automatically paused. I liked that it would read my messages to me and allow me to respond with my voice. The only thing I did not like about these is when talking on a phone call I had to have both ear peices in or they would not connect to my phone. For my job, I prefer to keep one ear open when talking on a phone call. These allowed me to hear normally with both ear peices in and they paused the music when I started talking, but for a phone call I would have to use only one peice as it wouldn't allow me to talk to people around me at the same time I talked on the phone. But it wouldnt connect if I only tried to use one ear piece so that I could maintain a conversation around me as well as be on a call. I hope this makes sense.

detailedReviews 26: content: Despite what might be promised, ANC ear buds, or in ear monitors, are always going to come up short sound wise compared to wired and much more expensive options. However, these are meant to be convenient accessories to quell the drone of planes or busses and provide a decent sound quality in a light and affordable package. In these respects, these are perfectly fine and bring along a little of that Sony gravitas. They fit well, have good battery life, good customer support, and the noise canceling is pretty good. If absolute sound fidelity is your goal there are probably other options for more money. For Blue Tooth, these are squarely in the middle of doing everything pretty well, but not outrageously great, or costly, in most ways.

They also have an amazing system that cancels the exterioir sound. To me these are the best buds in the market. Tuani earbuds!

detailedReviews 28: content: Well where do I start comfort, security, style or amazing sound, take your pick but it’s a positive on all these fronts. From first inserting in your ear and giving a slight twist the new extra “grip tag” basically feels like it’s locking the bud into your ear, meaning when you tilt forward or move your head there is none of that oops they’re going to fall because honestly there’s no chance of that. You would expect with such a snug fit after a period there may be some discomfort but far from it ,the soft covers ensure complete comfort even after extended use. Wearing out and about walking the dog you don’t get the urge anymore to keep touching the buds to ensure they’re in tightly as there’s just no need.Getting to the sound quality it’s up there with the best Sony has to offer with exceptional noise cancelling. I chose the white version but there are various vibrant colours available.

detailedReviews 29: content: This is my 2nd one. I use them everyday at work and battery life has started to decrease too much after 15 months of use so it was time for another pair. I looked at other earbuds including the newest
Wf-1000XM5 but they are larger and would stick out more and I want them to be as inconspicuous as possible. I also bought them in Desert Sand because it looks more like hearing aids and this way there's less chance of being told I can't use them at my job, plus in aware mode they do amplify the sound when I need too, so it does kind of help me hear better,I'm not getting any younger! But the main reason I bought them last year and again is for the size and very good ANC & sound quality.
They never feel like they're going to fall out,an issue I had with other earbuds always having to readjust them. With the Black Friday sale for$128 plus I used a gift card and $5 reward certificate I knocked the price down to $54 not bad!! The sound quality in my opinion is great I like it set to mellow on EQ setting which I like. If I had one critique it would be I'd like battery to last more than 6 hours on ANC but they'd have to make them bigger plus a 5 minute charge gets you another hour. If you're looking for a the smallest lightest earbuds with ANC I don't think you'll find any better for the price!

title: Great ANC and sound quality, small and light
detailedReviews 30: content: I bought these just shy of 2 months ago and they have been the best earbuds I have used. I have had so much trouble with earbuds due to having really small ears. Even with the smallest earbud attachment they are more often than not still too big for my ears. The earbuds themselves are often too big and stick out my ears really far too. I saw these online and with them being extremely light and having the extra small earbud attachment I thought they would be worth trying. I was not disappointed at all! The extra small attachment is a perfect fit, the buds themselves are very light and not bulky at all. The sound quality is fantastic, lots of settings to change the bass/treble ect to have it the way its suits you. Crisp clear sound. The noise cancelling is brilliant. I use these at nighttime as my husband snores ridiculously loud and these block out most of it, which I'm so happy about. I can hear my podcasts and videos perfectly.
The battery life could be a bit better but I know when making them so light some things have to be compromised. They still last at least 5 hours though.
All in all these are amazing and I couldn't recommend them enough. What you get for the price is fantastic.

title: Best earbuds for small ears, fantastic sound
detailedReviews 31: content: First of all, I have never owned any wireless earbuds before as I more opt for the over-ear or on-ear variants of headphones. The reason, my ear canals are ultra sensitive and don't get on well with having heavy IEM's/in-ear eartips shoved in them, so I tried these with a good pinch of salt. After using these on and off, I am happy to say that I have had zero issues with my ears, the Linkbuds S are beautifully crafted to be light, secure and sit perfectly in the ear to the point you forget you are wearing them.
Of course the most important part of any earbud is the point of contact in the ear, the ear tip must create a perfect seal to achieve isolation and good sound quality but inherently comfort is key... size and material are so important. The supplied silicon tips are incredibly soft and create an excellent seal in the ear which is paramount to having effective passive noise cancelling on any earbud but with Sony's Active Noise Cancelling in the mix, the isolation is sooo impressive and spookily good.
I recently returned from my holidays in Turkey in which I had the joy of using the Linkbuds S during and I have to admit, the more I used the Linkbuds S, the more I have fallen in love with them, I was looking forward to trying them on the flight and by the pool as a true test for the ANC and I am pleased to say that they performed admirably. With the eartips offering good isolation, the engine noise from the plane was gone and pool music, which was loud at some points (at about 10 metres away), was basically inaudible. The fact that this tiny set of wireless buds are able to do this is basically mind blowing. If I was to add something at this point as an improvement it would be increased water resistance for both the buds and charging case, being around a pool is highly hazardous for these buds at only IPX4 rated (care and attention is required).
Disclaimer, these are not audiophile buds but the sound reproduction is fantastic as long as your music source is good, LDAC helps here a lot but at the expense of range if optimised for sound quality. So if you move away from your BT player source expect connection drop outs with the Linkbuds S especially if the airwaves are congested with other device signals.
In my opinion, the difference between a premium set of earphones and a budget set of earphones are the features, something that all of Sonys bluetooth earphones/headphones have a plethora of, some of which folks will find a gimmick and others indispensable. Saying this the Linkbuds S are well worth the price point, Sony are second to none in the bluetooth earphone/headphones space in my opinion, Sony's software and hardware is hard to beat and they have a lot of boxes ticked with their consumer products.
The Linkbuds S bring simplicity and a getting on perfect feature set to the wireless bud space, I love them and highly recommend.

detailedReviews 32: content: Yeah that's right. The 1st thing I'm always looking for when I look at reviews are, how do I know whether they were made by a bot, someone payed to make stuff up or worse the classic 1 sentence useless review, that is so annoying for example: 'A good product :D' (Man someone ought to kill those people).
Anyways it's the only pair of Earphones I found thus far that I can actually sleep in. The outsides are so flat that they distribute the weight of the skull so well that on a soft surface like pillows, soft lounges and beds you notice it so little that you can drift off to sleep in. That + the active noise cancelling area godsend! Thank Jesus!
Bur their are some very apprent drawbacks, they just don't matter to my use case, they are as follows:
●Battery life - only lasts about 4-6 hours dependant on use (how much sound produced and whether noise cancelling is on or off) by far some of the lowest battery life out of all Earphones but for such a slim package it's perfect and I'll take it.
● The app, widget and controls for them sucks. All I want to do in the app and widget is 3 things, switch between all 3 modes, ambient noise, noise cancelling and normal. The either makes this a 2 page 4 touch process thereabouts or forces you to enable automatic switching based on your geo location (oh yeah it demands access to your location data... waste of battery life much and not worth it for the features)
●Even with touch controls disabled it still gives you a sound when it's touched, thankfully not a constant repeat thank the heavens. Say you shuffle around with your head against a pillow with these on, then you will hear a touch sound every time it registers a touch, I'm grateful that's its just a small sound and nothing actually happens as turning off touch controls works but yeah, it's just downright annoying, wouldn't mind betting it could be fixed in software but I wouldn't hold your breath. You can indeed live with it, like I do.
●Lastly the touch controls have given presents and you have no way of individually assigning what touches do, you have to select from presetting profiles, in which aren't the same as other brands,(for me I came from Galaxy Earbuds Pro) so yeah you could get used to it and probably end up liking it but for me thankfully there was an option to fully turn off touch controls.
That's it, for me the pros certainly outweighs the negatives. I think I'm gonna catch some sleep with them now, active noise cancelling is bliss.
Also for anyone who cares about sound quality, I watched 4 reviews where they all said they sounded worse than Galaxy earbuds and I found that they actually sound better.
Now I sleep.

detailedReviews 33: content: After trying over a dozen sets of this style (totally in ear) earbuds from $100 to $300, including the Sony WF-1000XM5 and Technics EAH-AZ80 (both of which sound INCREDIBLE) but since my first requirement is a good and comfortable fit, I choose these as my favorite, daily-drivers. They are so small and comfortable I don't have to constantly adjust them or have a fear of them falling out. My second requirement is very good or great sound. My third requirement is good ANC and finally very good, clear phone calls. These buds meet all my requirements and since I bought them on sale for $150 I consider them to be a bargain. LDAC codec for lossless bitrate streaming music.
One of the coolest features (that my wife loves) is the ability to vary the amount of ambient sound that you hear, and most importantly, has a setting that specifically allows voices to be heard without having to turn down the volume, remove the buds, or stop the music.
After deciding these were the best for me, I bought a spare pair just in case misplace them or leave them at the office.

detailedReviews 35: content: I've had these for 6 months now after I lost one of my previous headphones I had had for 4 years. Overall I think they're a great pair of headphones but they do have a few issues. I'll start with the pros. Pros: Super lightweight and great for tiny ears Awesome sound quality for such small buds Great active noise canceling/noise filtering Charges fast Lightweight and compact case Cons: Die relatively quickly and case holds just enough juice to get through a day Case is pretty flimsy and slippery Occasional pairing issues when pairing more than one device My biggest issue: occasionally there are sound glitches of loud and violent static with no warning and no way to terminate without restarting the earbuds. Generally I adore these headphones but the cons are real drawbacks. They are much smaller lighter and more comfortable than air pods and I prefer their functionality. If these issues could be resolved they'd honestly be perfect. I enjoy the customization allowed by the app and the compatibility with various audio apps.

detailedReviews 36: content: Up until purchasing this pair of LinkBuds S earbuds, I have been on a desperate hunt for some sleek, truly wireless earbuds that actually cooperate with my ears since having been disappointed by the first and second generation AirPods Pros. The AirPods Pros, for context, have consistently irritated my ears during use, hypothetically due to something in the material composition that triggers severe reactions within my ear canals. This issue has been heavily documented across multiple popular online forums, including Apple's own discussion forums, and unfortunately Apple has done nothing to address this issue, even after having released a second iteration, so it was time to move on. I took a break from earbuds in general and settled with the Sony WH-1000XM4s for a bit, which were refreshing.
Now, entering the realm of the LinkBuds S. My motivation in trying these out was getting the same Sony quality with the XM4s, but in a smaller sleeker package that HOPEFULLY doesn't aggravate my ears, and honestly I'm glad I've given these a chance. So far, these earbuds have been really good in the sound quality and noise cancelling department, and more importantly, have been immensely comfortable to wear in my ears for long music listening sessions. The battery life has also been really good.
My only minor complaint is that the LinkBuds from time to time may have moments where the audio stutters, presumably due to Bluetooth signal strength, but 99% of the time it maintains a stable connection so I wouldn't let this discourage you from buying the LinkBuds.
Ultimately, these earbuds are worth it. Giving these a 5 star rating; these aren't even the flagship WF-1000XM4 earbuds, yet they smoke the AirPods Pros. Insanely good value, especially with the sale going on at the time of writing for $50 off, highly recommend picking these up if you're on the decisionmaking fence.

title: Immensely comfortable, great sound quality and ANC
detailedReviews 37: content: The Sony LinkBuds S produce a good quality sound with a balanced output across the frequency range, including a good level of low end bass which is impressive from such a small unit. Voices are nice and clear when using the LinkBuds while making calls with your mobile phone.
The Bluetooth pairing with an Android smart phone was incredibly easy. After charging the LinkBuds, simply took them out of the charging case, they switched on automatically when put them in my ears and appeared straight away on the Bluetooth settings screen on the Android phone and was able to listen with them instantly. There is a Sony Headphone Connect app to install which is used for changing various settings, for example, the touch sensor operations assigned to each earbud, and viewing the battery status of both earbuds and the charging case. Pairing later with an iPad was also very easy. Music or podcast playback automatically stops when you remove an earbud from your ear and then continues when you put them back in so no need to pause on your playback device.
The charging case contains a rechargeable battery which is very useful for recharging the earbuds without needing to keep connecting the charging case to a USB power source to recharge the earbuds.
Being light and compact the LinkBuds S fit easily in the ear and are comfortable to wear. The Sony Headphones Connect app has an "ear fit test" function which is useful for checking that the correct earbud tip size is being used for a good seal in your ear and therefore get the best performance from the LinkBuds.
Having used wired in-ear headphones for many years I have found using the LinkBuds S headphones a big leap forward in capability and usability, as well as having no dangling wires tugging or moving around. I really like the ambient sound feature when using the LinkBuds while out walking. For example, it is great to be able to listen to a podcast while on a walk without felling cut-off from the outside world, so still able to hear the birds chirping and the traffic around you. When sat listening to music the LinkBuds detect you are stationary and automatically switch from ambient sound to noise cancellation.
In summary, as well as sounding good, the LinkBuds S pack in an impressive level of functionality in a compact earbud, with a quality design and build you can rely on from Sony.

title: Good quality sound, easy pairing, impressive functionality
detailedReviews 38: content: BACKGROUND:
I'm 37, like hi-res audio mainly, I do have a lot of earbuds and headphones (shure, sony, senhnheiser, beat, skullcandy, audio-Technica, AKG, Bose) and I do not consider myself and audiophile but, I like to have earbuds for any type of music or situation lol, I bought this because my mom accidentally destroyed an AKG earbuds that I use at work, told her that it was ok, but she insisted to much to buy me a substitute, so I do not really wanted that my elder mom buy me a pricer earbuds, but also did not wanted to just have a scrappy pair, so the best option it came in my mind was this ones and that's how I got it and do not regret it, this are a great earbuds for EVERYDAY, they look cheap so it do not attract a lot of attention like the "shure's" lol.
GOOD:
The audio from this ones is "flat", which means that it's not "tunned", so you can tune them as your taste.
This buds fit MUCH BETTER than many earbuds, you can run with them and will not fall from your ear since they are a little bit smaller and fit excellent inside the concha.
Battery is great, you can use it like 8hr with a single charge (continously hearing), so I just charge them during my lunch time and they are good to go for the rest of the day!
Price, this is BANG for your BUCKs, really.... this are a very nice hi-res audio earbuds and cheaper than audio-technica, shure's, sennheiser brands. Of course this are superior to beats, skullcandy, bose without a doubt but at the same price!!, so if your budget is limited, get this one's right away
DOWNSIDE:
Bluetooth connection sometimes fade in and fade out... not sure why it does that but for me is not like a big deal.
Pairing this ones is just a bit harder than their sony top brother, since they do not have the shortcut of "touching both earbuds" to start pairing, you have to open box and push the small button for 10 secs and then you will be able to pair it, selecting it from the list, I mean... it takes like 3 minutes, once paired then it will remember, so for me not a big deal but is something you may consider if you pair this to more than 2 devices that are near each other, because they will connect to the last one you connected and you'll have to do all the process I meantioned to pair it to the other device (even that you already configured before).
This earbuds isolate sound so well that you can hear your "chewing" or "footsteps" when you are running, I mean you can hear your "inner sounds".
Mic is SO BAD for calls, they just simple lack behind on this one, I did not pretend to use it for "calling" but when I receive calls I change to speakear since people can't hear me at all, or with a lot of "ambient sound".
OVERALL:
great FLAT sound, nice price, excellent fit (even sweat)

detailedReviews 40: content: Best Feature:solid noise canceling, a secure fit, and solid but not fantastic battery life.
Pros:
* Solid sound reproduction - low treble, but the treble boost setting produces a reasonably flat sound curve for clear and distinct audio.
* Good noise cancelling - not best in class, but sufficient in most environments.
* Supports high bitrate audio (LDAC)
* Recharges from the case very quickly.
* Light and comfortable long-term.
Cons:
* Battey life could be better - using noise cancellation and LDAC (which are both power hungry) drops bettery life to 3-4 hours. Luckily it changes fast in the case, but still wish it was better.
* Only supports LDAC for high bitrate. AptX Adaptive is less prone to dropouts and consumes less power to process, and aptX HD, which more of a lateral move, would be good to see too for wider overall support.

I thought of trying Sony linkbuds S. Oh man, I made the right choice. It works perfectly for me. Its noise cancellation feature is really amazing. I’ve been using it for the past few weeks. I have a 1.5 hours commute time to work and I take public transportation. The noise cancellation feature cancels the external sounds to almost 100% that I’m able to enjoy music without any distractions. The sound quality is incredible too. The pods perfectly fits in my ears even while I run/jog. Recently I paired the pods with the SONY smart TV in my bedroom and I’m able to enjoy watching TV even while lying in my bed as the pods are small and not sticking out of my earlobes. Sony products never fail to amaze me. These EarPods are worth every dime.

detailedReviews 42: content: Starting with the sound quality.
It is very good but not as good as my worn out Melomania 1's. I had to fiddle with the equaliser to get a good balance and even then it's just a little thin.
Regarding the ANC.
Very good indeed
Regarding phone call quality.
This is excellent, in fact it's the best I've used.
Regarding Setup and Software
This is where there needs to be an improvement. These are not as intuitive as the Pixel Buds Pro to set up. I've still got issues with the Sony account region settings.
The app is OK but not easy to navigate. I get a message every time I load the app saying unable to connect to network (although I'm sure it is connected). The activity tracker is just annoying and I've disabled it due to constantly overriding my last choice of mode because I've walked a few paces.
In summary though, I absolutely love these buds and would recommend to anyone that wants a compact earbud with little to complain about, other than software.

Absolutely stunning. The noise cancelling is amazing for me. Listening to Kali Uchi’s Sincerely and her songs sounds heavenly with this earbuds. Already tested with Netflix and it’s all good too. There are some functions I haven’t tested yet like the 360 thing. Will edit this review later. Oh and the automatic pause function for the songs when you take out the buds is so cool. All in all, I think this purchase is absolutely worth the price! The packaging is also incredibly safe!

detailedReviews 44: content: Once you get all the settings right, ASTOUNDING SOUND.
Software continues to be buggy at times on Android (Samsung S21). Unless Automatic Turn Off option is disabled, one headphone (mostly L, sometimes R) will turn off after 20-30 minutes on phone calls, which is quite annoying, have to take headphone out and put back in, and headphone will turn back on. This is after reset and initialization were done. Shame because the automatic off is a nice feature, assuming software issue with IR interface. Hopefully software updates soon will correct this.
Wildly enough, there also is an extreme increase in sound quality when the auto off feature is disabled, at least for my Linkbuds! Couldn't believe my ears when I first disabled auto off, but toggled multiple times between enabling and disabling, and the sound opened up so much it was like the difference between $50 and $150 dollar earbuds. Again, seems to be software issues hopefully ironed out in future.
Left earbud touch function may have also been affected by this, but works now after initialization and also turning off the above feature, unsure which thing caused the function to be fixed.
Takes a few minutes to make sure LDAC is set on Android Smartphones (Apple cannot support LDAC high quality bluetooth transmission). Must go to bluetooth, then when device appears on bluetooth, must click settings on right of device, enable LDAC. Then under phone settings, must enable "Developer Options", then go down to bluetooth and select LDAC. Also, every time (this is a pain but not Sony's issue) you connect the headphones and want to truly listen at LDAC levels, must scroll down to "Bluetooth Audio LDAC Codec: Playback Quality" and Select "Highest Quality" (Android defaults to best effort every time you connect to headphones, which is often lower than LDAC).
All that said, once everything is right, the overall sound, bass, and fidelity of these earbuds is so amazing! Bearing in mind you MUST USE LDAC; Sony has worked to maximize sound quality by implementing LDAC, so if you're not using it, these earbuds may not sound amazing, since you're not using their full functionality.
And they are so light, even with the case! Amazing! Noise canceling is great, battery is okay, drains pretty fast with both noise cancelling and LDAC enabled, but hey, can't beat the sound.
I love Sony and the amazing sound all of their products produce; they sometimes have had issues with earbuds recently, likely due to trying to get to market too quickly, but I will definitely be a lifelong Sony user. The sound from the product is superior.

detailedReviews 45: content: I have earphones from beats and Apple air pods pro 2nd gen, and this pair produces sound better than both, and I'm amazed that it's able to do that with a smaller driver.
The app is also pretty good, in that it helps to identify the correct fit silicone tips and even the equalizer in a very scientific way, by measuring the sound pressure. Noise cancellation doesn't match Bose or Sony's over the head models, but it's still very effective and helps me reduce the volume while still delivering the same sound pressure, easing the ears. Transparency modes are also very effective and rather than being just a toggle, it offers several levels, which is super useful in the various contexts that its AI takes care of setting.
One star is taken for the fit. Sure, the app helps me identify the right silicone tip for my ear, however, it doesn't stay so well on my ears if I smile couple of times with it on or do workouts. That's where the comma shape of the Apple air pods does a better job in staying fit for long hours in the ears.

detailedReviews 48: content: I received the Link buds by post..it's said that some very good things come in small parcels...well it is a small package for sure but the contents are big in purpose. Immediately on opening the box to examine the contents I could feel quality...the layout is easy to follow and the initial 'easy start' pictures leave you in no doubt as how to start off using the linkbuds ..just download the fully detailed instruction manual and applied app and crack on . Its important to choose between set up for i-phone or android. I am the proud owner of a Sony Xperia Mobile so obviously there was compatability built in . The advice to fully charge the unit before starting to use was normal but only took a little while to reach full charge...talking about charge, note that when the buds are shown to be fully charged there is a reserve battery in the unit home box that will replace an individual charge into each bud when you replace them into their base position after use!
Naturally there's a specific 'app' to download to your phone to compliment the learning and use of the linkbuds
....it was quick and very straight forward to use...back to the unpacking ...the buds were already fitted with a set of 'tips...I just tried them in my ear and found them absolutely right. The other choice of 3 sets are still in their case and Ive no doubt there's a size to fit every ear...they are extremely comfortable.Ive tried other buds before and to be honest not really got on too well and have taken recently to wearing standard type bluetooth headphones. However those are now consigned to the 'drawer' as the linkbuds are so comfortable to wear..
Its necessary to set up the bluetooth connection to your first chosen device..in this case my Xperia...it was so easy and positive and connected immdediately..I have since paired my link buds with another mobile, 3 sony home televisions and my laptop...very easy to pair...Its great that when I open the 'home box', the buds automatically pair to my chosen switched on unit....(I do have a blue tooth app which allows me to immediately pair to any given device I want to use them with but the link buds know what device I'm using)
I'll give my age as 'senior' for the purpose of the reader knowing what my tech knowledge might be...I'm catching up fast in all things techie..but to me the specification and what the linkbuds will do is nothing short of brilliant ...I am not able to describe the processes of how the Linkbuds actually allow things to happen and Im still steadily learning as I find a use for each function available. The app tutorial is extremely detailed in the functions that are set into the linkbuds but very easy to follow and trial ...here's a summary ...remote answering and use of your mobile phone....each ear bud, left or right, can be programmed and customised to a particular function...volume control, track selection when listening to your favourite music app, for example Spotify..full use of 'hey Google'. I love the spoken notification of the arrival of e-mails or messages...the name 'Linkbuds' is extremely appropriate as the buds will team up with so many apps and functions.. and there is a built in 'learning' process by the buds and app to personalise the benefits of their functions to your own specific uses...like normal volume playback levels
I'm reviewing after approximately 2 weeks using the buds and there's more to learn ..Im quite certain that I'll still find plaenty to play with...I'd like to summarise with some quite simple basics...as fiollows ...the reproduction of sound detail is nothing short of perfect, the noise cancelling is second to none as far as my experience is concerned, the comfort for the wearer , again in my experience , just incredible...am I over the top? ...I dont think so ...I would tell anyone to experience the linkbuds and know what true personal sound reproduction can be like...

detailedReviews 49: content: I bought these to replace some JBLs that were lost, and they have never lived up to how good they were. The strange this with these buds is that the left bud often disconnects when I turn my head to look right. It happens when I am at my desk and turn to my second monitor on the right. Also happens when I am walking and looking right. Only way to fix is to drop the right bud back into the case and then take straight back out. Very annoying. I have done several factory resets, re-paired and still happens. Software all up to date. Wouldn't recommend.

detailedReviews 50: content: I've gone through a *lot* of wireless earbuds in recent years. Haven't owned any Bose, but have had Jabra 65s and 75s, as well as Sony WF-1000XM3s and XM4s, in addition to assorted cheaper options in a pinch. The higher-end Sonys have had great sound, but absolutely terrible fit; I couldn't wear either pair for more than maybe 30-45 minutes without some discomfort. The Jabras were way more comfortable, especially the 75t, but sound quality and ANC paled in comparison to the Sonys. These LinkBuds honestly marry the best qualities of other earbuds I've tried, and for the price and for most people I think are a way better buy than the top-end stuff from Sony or other makers. They are *incredibly* comfortable — I can wear them for hours, they stay in my ears while walking or jogging — and the sound quality is really exceptional. The higher-end models might have a *slight* edge, but for regular daily use I don't think I'm ever in a situation where I'd really notice a difference. I think the transparency mode is even better than the XM4s, which makes them even better for outdoor activities or just having awareness during work, with kids at home, and so on. ANC isn't mind-blowing — I can still hear people talking nearby and higher-frequency sounds get through — but they definitely cut a *lot* of sound out and if I'm listening to music, I don't really notice anything but the very loudest external sounds. Microphone quality is acceptable — better than the XM4s, I think, but they won't replace my Plantronics headset for serious work calls. And battery life is decent; I haven't done any serious testing, but I'm only charging the case once every few days and I use these buds a few hours every day. Really, really exceptional work here. If there's ever a LinkBuds S v2 I'll be first in line to get them.

detailedReviews 51: content: The Sony LinkBuds are awesome solution to a discrete new way to listen to music all without sacrificing sound quality. The noise canceling technology does a phenomenal job of filtering out unwanted noise while delivering a sound quality that could rival some of the better over the ear designs out there.
Out of the box you get everything you need to get you started. Usb-C cable, charging case, earbuds, and different ear tips. They give 4 different ear tip sizes which is a big plus as proper fitment is so vital on in the ear set up. If the buds do not fit proper then sound quality will bleed out and outside noise pollution will bleed in. Full charge of the case took a little under a hour while full charge on the earbuds themselves was done in about 30 mins. Once proper fitment was accomplished and the equalizer dialed in i was impressed with what i received from these buds. The noise suppression and sound quality were almost equal to my Sony over the ear WH-1000XM3. Very little noise pollution got through with noise cancellation set to max settings. Sound quality was so crisp and clean that i could hear every bit of instrument from the deep bass drums up to the high hats. Never once did i feel either one sound over powered another nor were my vocals coming in distorted or filled with cross over noise from the noise cancellation. Through Sony's free Sound app you have access to a few different options. You can set what your action buttons do i.e. single and double tap left ear bud. You also have the ability to adjust your sound quality with the apps own equalizer. But where it really shines is in its different option set ups for noise cancellation. You can turn on 'adaptive sound control' which will track your daily activities via GPS and will learn your patterns and automatically adjust ambient sound control based on whats around you and what activities you are participating in. You also have access to 'Speak-to-Chat' which will pick up when you are talking or if someone is talking directly to you and will turn off noise cancellation in order for you to carry on a conversation. After about 10 seconds or so without talking noise cancellation goes back in to effect. You also have access to 360 spata sound pending the fact that you have a active account with a provider, if not no biggie the app will direct you to a few providers where you can sign up. Prices will vary.
Sony has come a long way with the technology in their earbud sets. This has to be one of the best sounding in the ear buds i have ever heard or owned hands down. At the price point these ear buds come in at i feel it is worth it given everything you get from the earbuds and app. One side note to mention about these ear buds is that i would not recommend them to sleep in. The earbuds are very uncomfortable when laying down and if you are looking for a earbud set up you can sleep in while playing white noise to help you sleep i would say you need to pass on this setup and find something else. Other then that this set up is almost guaranteed to please just about most audiophiles out there.

title: Best sounding in ear buds, worth the price
detailedReviews 52: content: These buds deliver astonishing quality audio - easily the best I’ve heard. Battery life is long, it seems ages before I need a recharge and I use them a lot. But the ‘ambient sound’ feature is infuriating! It constantly monitors the audio environment. If it detects you are outside, say on a walk, it stops playback, cuts the bass and noise reduction. I’ve had a music track stop every ten seconds! Then had to tap an earbud to start it again, which can loosen it. It makes it almost impossible to enjoy any sort of playback. Switching off ambient sound only disables it once. Then it defaults back to being on. So, constant stress, constant work to keep restarting during a music track. Unless you’re happy to spend your listening time constantly fighting this feature I’d avoid this product.

detailedReviews 53: content: The LinkBuds S have very good sound and bass, but inconsistent ANC (Active Noise Canceling) and a pretty terrible noise amplifier software. The software I'm referring to is what I believe is a AI driven feature where amplification of outside sounds can be turned on when you're running or walking in a public environment, as well as turning on the noise cancellation when you're sitting or in a loud environment.
This feature is inconsistent and terrible. I can't believe for the price point of these earbuds, which I purchased on sale at the time, is high when the features that I'm describing are so terrible and annoying in contrast. I write public transportation quite a bit so features like this are very important to me and to have them be so terrible is embarrassing.
I'm going to return these hopefully and get something that is consistently better for less money. Save yourself the trouble and buy yourself something better, I thought Sony was better than this but I guess they're not in regards to earbuds.

title: Terrible noise amplifier software, inconsistent ANC
detailedReviews 54: content: The LinkBuds S are a fascinating product. Lightweight, compact, and yet packed to the gills with features and party tricks. And after spending a few days with them, I think they might have earned a spot as my new daily drivers.
As far as I can tell, the design goals here were to create a set of earbuds you simply never need to take out. You’ve got active noise cancellation, passive noise blocking, and audio pass through at your disposal, which is fairly standard at this point. What makes these particular stand out is the fact that they are designed to try and make the process of switching between these options completely automatic. If it detects you talking to someone it immediately pauses your audio and switches to voice amplified passthrough. If it detects you’re currently driving it switches back to full audio cancellation. If you’re going for a run it’ll switch to full passthrough, and so on. I haven’t decided yet if this is a brilliant idea or not, as so far at least it seems to be a little hit or miss in regards to its decision making, but it’s certainly an approach that I haven’t seen before and I can see the appeal.
The smarts don’t end there, however. There’s also tools to help you select the correct ear cushion size for your ear canals, a monitor to determine if you’re listening to content that could damage your hearing in the long term, and even a tool to scan the shape of your ears to optimize 3D audio performance (though it doesn’t seem to be particularly useful for earbuds. Overall it comes across as an almost excessive attention to detail which really does make this feel like a premium experience. The only issue I have is the system to remap the touch controls on the earbuds. Most apps will let you map specific actions to each gesture the system supports. With these, however, you have to pick between a short list of available presets which often aren’t making full use of the commands available. To give an example, out of the box there are no volume controls at all. The right earbud has media controls, and the left controls noise cancellation. I would like to be able to replace the two empty “quick action” slots (which seems excessive since there’s currently only one thing I can map to them, and it’s something I never use) with volume controls, but it won’t let me. Switching the left earbud to volume control will remove the mapping for noise cancellation control, which I use much more often. It’s very puzzling to me how Sony hasn’t figured out that this is a bad design when practically everyone else in the industry has fully programmable controls, and I hope that they can eventually address it with a future software update.
Which brings us to one of the more important aspects: how do the actual earbuds perform? Overall, I’d say very well. The default equalizer setting offers a good mix of highs and lows, audio is crisp, and mic performance for calls is great. It’s got a bit less bass than I’m accustomed to from Sony stuff, but given that I often find their low end response to be excessive I’m fine with it. Battery life is very good, though not exceptional, with the earbuds on their own being able to last through most of the day and the case having a generous power reserve that claims to be able to stretch total endurance to 20 hours. They grip in the ear very well, and are so lightweight that they tend to stay where you put them without causing any discomfort. Touch detection can, admittedly, be a little hit or miss. There’s no clear indicator for where you should tap the casing to trigger a command, and sensitivity varies depending on where you hit. Aiming for dead center seems to elicit the best response, but it’s very easy to accidentally hit one of the edges when you’re wearing them. It’s a minor thing, ultimately, but some kind of nub or shift in texture to give some tactile response would be nice. And the active noise cancellation is better than anything I’ve previously tried from Sony, with very little discomfort from prolonged use and excellent performance.
Overall, these earbuds aren’t perfect. They do have a bit of a prototype feel to them, with a lot of the features feeling like early implementations. But it also feels like you’re looking at the first crack at where earbud design is ultimately going, and I think that future firmware and software updates will probably improve a lot of the current shortcomings. As such I’d recommend them for anyone looking for earbuds that can do it all without losing the ability to be discrete.

detailedReviews 55: content: Presentation & Setup:
Opening the box, the headphones do feel slightly cheap. Compared to the brand marketing of other products like Apple, the design is not there. Nothing flashy and little brand advertising. The product is easy to set up and connected quickly to my phone. The charging case is made of an odd (almost grainy” plastic.
Sound Quality:
Despite lacking the “luxury” consumer feeling, the sound quality is quite good. The best way to describe them are improved AirPods (it’s a nice balance between the AirPods vs AirPods Pro.
Noise Cancellation:
The noise cancellation is not going to drown out every background noise, but it does a solid job. Things like computer typing, office conversations are all muted.
Battery Life:
I would say my average use is 3-4 hours of audio usage per day and I charge the case once every 3 days. Really no problems with the battery life.
Overall:
These are by no means the premium headphone for an audiophile. At this price range, I’m not sure you will find that anyways. However, for somebody who is looking for a step above the AirPods (w/ noise cancellation) these are hard to beat.
-1 Star:
The only issue I have had is momentary connectivity issues. Walking around with these headphones causes them to cut out a bit for some reason. Even repairing them does not seem to help. However, this is a rare occurrence.

title: Good sound quality, solid noise cancellation, no problems
detailedReviews 56: content: I recently got the latest Sony LinkBud Fit as a present to replace some old noise cancelling buds which were dropped into water and gave up. I decided to try a premium brand as I have several other Sony products that have lasted well and given excellent audio quality. The first thing that stands out is the packaging being last entirely cardboard / paper and very neatly done. I also admire the use of recycled plastics in the device / housing. This is the way forward and Sony have been doing this for a few years now, which is commendable.
The size of the bud casing is a surprise with it being quite bloated, it isn’t going to be an easy fit into trouser pockets. The buds themselves are also quite chunky and have a soft silicone wing to help rest against the ear and hold it in place when performing more aggressive movements such as workout or running. There are a wide range of the silicone tips to fit your ear but it took me a while to get the best size. Ranges from SS, S, M and L. I found that they held in quite well but my ear doesn’t quite fit with the wing so I’m reliant on the tip fit.
They fit is comfortable and the bonus is that the new buds also are more water resistant than my previous units so feel less of a risk when washing the car this time. The Sony Connect App was a great addition and when setting the units checked the fit via pictures and sound along with having an equalizer option for those that need to personalize their audio sound. You can also set the noise cancelling in the app or tap the buds or around that area of your head to change settings.
Audio quality has been very good and I have taken the opportunity to upgrade to a streaming service that plays 360 audio files to get the full effect. I’ve found this very good but not sure I need the premium cost for my daily commute. Battery life did concern me, given the size of the units, but I’ve had no issues so far and when not in use the units are in the case charging back up anyway – so it’s a bit like range anxiety with the electric car i.e. not a real issue.
My main niggle is the noise cancelling appears to be a bit schizophrenic in the sense that in the auto mode it can randomly let noises through and then block others but I wonder if new software updates will resolve this. I have used other manufacturer devices that have been more effective at cancelling the noise but I like the fact that these should let me hear the things that I need to – so it’s under review 😊 That said I’ve had similar priced units that have been far less effective.

detailedReviews 57: content: The outer box is small neat and attractive and appears to be entirely recyclable. The box housing the Linkbuds looks like an expensive diamond ring box, again, small and neat, very tactile and easily slips into a pocket, completing an attractive total package. The quality of construction is evident from the start; the box has a certain weight and opens and shuts with absolute precision and the buds snap back into place with a satisfying clunk. The connection to my phone was automatic but there is an unobtrusive pairing button at the rear. In the centre rear is the USB 3 slot for charging. At the front centre, where the lid joins the body, is a tiny rectangular slot which momentarily lights up to show the state of charge when the box is opened. Overall the package speaks of thoughtful careful design.
I am not going to be a typical user of this product. I am a full-time Carer on call 24/7 which means I take my music when I can. I live in rural Scotland and do not listen to music in the car as one needs complete attention to compete with deer etc and large farm vehicles. Additionally, I have had to wear Hearing Aids for a number of years and whilst the modern ones are excellent, they are not the best medium for listening to music. Accordingly, I believe these headphones may be an answer to a prayer. In short, I am delighted with all aspects of the LinkBuds, their appearance, their convenience and superb sound quality. I am now free to engage in a variety of tasks both within the house and out without the constraints of wires or fear of over-ear headphones falling off whilst actively working, walking or using my cameras but most of all, the ability to enjoy music again as I did in the past. I’ve not yet had time to explore the full potential of the App that accompanies them and look forward to that. I think they are remarkable value for money considering the quality of the sound in such a small convenient package and the obvious build quality. For the moment I have found no downside and don’t expect to.
Having been a lover of music from the days when the usual source was a 12” LP and having owned excellent Hi-Fi systems I am still looking for ways to get the best reproduction possible in an endeavour to re-create the sounds I remember. Over the years I have tried several types of headphones and currently use Over-Ear, wired; excellent but has the downside of occasionally seeing your phone crash to the floor when you forget it was wired. The LinkBuds have totally obviated the need for this,They are no more intrusive than my hearing aids and I find I can wear them for long periods quite comfortably, the bluetooth connection is total and constant and the sound quality vastly superior to that I am currently getting. Whilst I have only used The LinkBuds for a relatively short period - I am still exploring the potential of the App - I have been surprised, delighted and amazed by the quality of the sound. Listening to some of my favourite pieces I have been transported back to a time when I could hear all the nuances of the music. I have always been fond of Classical Guitar and occasionally hearing the rasp of the player’s fingers on the strings is something I haven’t heard for a long time, I can now discern the words in vocals and piano music is so crisp & clear. I am not qualified nor would I want to discuss the technicalities of sound but listening via the Buds there is a separation between the tones, a clarity and cleanness that for me has been missing. It’s almost as if a mist has cleared and the soundscape is sharp and detailed.
I cannot comment on the sound cancelling qualities of the Buds other than in my own circumstances but they are more than adequate to cope with TV and phone conversations that occur in the room in which I am enjoying my music.

detailedReviews 58: content: I first got these on clearance, but they had solid reviews so I gave them a chance. They're comfortable, come with a number of features (even though I don't use 75% or them) and have decent sound quality and bass for the size. After about a year or so, I started having issues with latency (sound cutting cutting out and "artifacting"). I though this was just a function of the size and having a smaller BT antenna compared to my own buds, but not that I'm out of warranty, an issue with the right-bud having excessive battery drain relative to the left one (15 minutes of playback vs the multiple hours of playback on the right). This is cleary a hardware issue and has been widely reported on with headphones experiencing severe battery discharge shortly after the stock warranty period. The Clearance makes so much more sense now. Sony knew this was an issue and wanted to move their remaining product quickly. I'm going to try a self repair, but for the average user these things will becoming e-waste after about 2 years. This is unacceptable for a what was originally a $200+ pair of buds. I was a fan of wired Sony products in the past...you got a lot of bang for the buck, but this has put me off Sony for audio in the future. QC is one thing, but this is a known issue has they've just largely ignored.

detailedReviews 59: content: The fit in the ear is comfortable and the buds are light, so could be used for a long time with little discomfort.
Sound quality has a good dynamic range, adjustable in the Sony Sound Connect app, it’s not too bass heavy which I prefer.
A full charge should last up to five and a half hours.
The build quality overall is excellent, the charging case has a distinctive marble effect top which looks very stylish.
The ear supports on the buds are made from silicone and are available to buy in different colours, I don’t find this part of the design of the buds particularly useful or visually appealing however.
To stop what you are listening to it seems you need to physically remove the Linkbuds, I personally would like to press a button and keep wearing them.
I also would have liked the Sony logo to be more visible on the Linkbuds to show that I am using a Sony brand- to show them off, it’s hidden underneath.
Overall though, I must say that the Sony Linkbuds Fit are a well produced earbud that I’ll enjoy for many years, they are easy to set up and use. With downloading the Sony “Sound Connect” app, you can adjust all settings to your required listening needs. The sound produced is excellent.
I cannot deny that this is another innovative, quality product from Sony.

detailedReviews 60: content: Don't get me wrong, I am very much happy with the overall performance with these earbuds. They are comfortable, have a nice sound quality, good bass, and excellent ANC.
However, despite the battery life being decent, around the 1.5 year mark the right earbud NOSEDIVED. The left earbud functions completely fine, while the right earbud dies within 30 minutes from a 100% charge.
This is a known problem among the community surrounding this device, some people struggle with the left earbud, some on the right earbud, but the story is the same, around the same time owning this device, one earbud with entirely fail on you.
I love this device, and want to support it, but I can't. Reaching out to customer service gave me troubleshooting solutions and a referral to a third party repair service, nothing more since I was just outside the warranty window. They were polite and willing to help until they knew my device wasn't in warranty.
I'm sorry but at $200 this device should last more than a year and a half, this is a fatal flaw in the battery, not normal battery decay you get with most devices.
The community loves this device Sony, and I love your products, but you failed us with this one.

title: Right earbud battery died after 1.5 years
detailedReviews 61: content: I’ve been a loyal Sony customer for years. I’ve purchased several products, including a pair of earbuds for myself and recently as a Christmas gift for my brother. I’ve always associated Sony with quality, but my recent experiences deeply disappointed me.
In 2023, I purchased a pair of Sony earbuds. They arrived defective, with serious battery issues. Sony replaced them under warranty, which was appreciated. However, the replacement pair lasted just over a year before the same battery issue reappeared, conveniently outside the warranty period. It’s unacceptable for a premium product to fail so consistently.
Recurring issues with battery life across multiple pairs suggest a systemic problem.I invested in Sony because I believed in their quality and customer care. However, I feel abandoned when these products fail just outside the warranty period. As a loyal customer, I expected better.
I’m not asking for anything unreasonable. I would appreciate a replacement or repair to show Sony’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. If this issue isn't addressed, I will have no choice but to consider other brands in the future.
I truly hope Sony values their loyal customers enough to make this right. It's hard to justify staying with a brand that doesn’t seem to care when things go wrong.

detailedReviews 62: content: The things that I liked :
The robustness of the packaging, and the total lack of plastic in the packaging.
How easy it was to connect the Linkbuds and get them playing music
How easy it is to check the state of charge of the charging box, and the Linkbuds, using the Sony App
The amount of playing time per charge.
Fail 1 : No matter which of the silicon end pieces I use, the Linkbuds will not stay in my ear. The problem seems to be that even when the plastic of the Linkbuds is hard against the cartilage of my ear, the silicon end piece is not far enough in the ear canal to form any sort of bond that will keep it there. I have to wear a sweat band over my ears to keep the Linkbuds in place.
Fail 2 : The biggie. The Linkbuds S are supposed to be Noise Cancelling. When the NC function is activated, it introduces a very audible flutter/rasp in the right earpiece - the noise you would probably get when a breeze blows over an unprotected microphone. The left earpiece.does not suffer from this affliction. But, between the two of them they do no Noise Cancelling at all. Switching between NC and Ambient Sound produces no discernable difference in sound. There is a difference when the Ambient Sound Control is switched OFF and all the introduced noise stops.

detailedReviews 63: content: This is the second time I've bought these headphones - and that should tell you how happy I was with them. They're great value for the price: they punch above their weight in nearly all categories. I wish the case was a little more compact, but there is so much worse out there, especially at this price, so I wouldn't fault them for that.
After roughly year of use, the headphones would begin to malfunction: it was as if you were in a very windy place, and its microphones were capturing and amplifying that sound. This was intermittent and really aggravating, and there's ample evidence that this issue is known. I was still within the warranty period, and I wanted to have them fixed, but unfortunately I lost the case a day before I was going to submit the claim.
So I bought another pair, and so far so good. The old ones can still be charges and paired with the new case, but they still have the same problem. The new ones have a different textured plastic housing, so I hope they're a revised version of these phones that won't suffer the same issue - time will tell.
Were it not for that, I'd recommend these headphones to everyone looking for a solid true wireless option at around 100.- CHF.

detailedReviews 64: content: Long(ish) term review. I've had them for around a year and a half. To start out with, I really loved these ear buds. The sound quality is great, the app is simple to use, the call quality (from what people I've called told me) is really good, noise cancellation works wonderfully, and the touch controls work as they should without having to push hard. All those things being said, about a month ago my left ear buds starting messing up. It won't fully charge (maybe gets up to around 90% on a good day) and it drains completely in about 10-15 minutes of use. I have cleaned the charging connectors on both the case and the ear buds but nothing changed. The right side still holds a charge and charges fully. Unfortunately, I am past the year for the manufacturer warranty. I wish for the amount of money these cost that they would have lasted longer (I have had soundcore ear buds that are still going after three years and those were only $50). They really were fantastic ear buds before this issue happened and if they had kept working these would have been the best ear buds I've owned. Hopefully, if you get them, you have better luck than I did.

detailedReviews 65: content: I'm reviewing these earbuds after using them for about 16 months. The most important thing about these earbuds is that after about 14 months, the battery in the left bud is shot. Battery life for the left bud is about 20 minutes if I'm being generous. The right bud has not seen a reduction in battery life. The ANC works as well or better than the Bose Quiet Comfort II's that I own. The sound quality is also really good. I never had a problem with fit. The touch controls can be a little finicky and sometimes answering a call through the touch controls did not work. Phone calls are really clear and the mic on these buds eliminates background noise much better than the Bose QCII. Other features available in the app felt superfluous and gimmicky probably because I didn't need them. In all, I like the buds but i paid too much for them to only last 14 months. Sony customer support suggested sending them for repair on my dime but could not guarantee that the other bud would not have similar issues at some point. Buy them if you want to pay 200 bucks for disposable earbuds.

title: Battery in left bud shot after 14 months
detailedReviews 66: content: *When it works* this is a very good product -- good sound, good ANC, relatively easy to use. What is disqualifying is how fast the battery life deteriorated in the right earbud (after a little more than a year of not heavy use) -- down to an erratic 15-30 minutes before exhaustion. Of course, >12 mos. is beyond warranty coverage, and all that Sony will do is throw a litany of reset steps at you before referring you to their hand-selected repair service. What's frustrating is that this seems to be a long-existing problem for which Sony has no effective fix. I'd buy another pair if I could be confident that the battery life issue wouldn't repeat itself, but I have no such trust. Also don't believe that repair could possibly be cost-effective over replacement. Bottom line, it's a good product *if* you can keep it working for more than a few mins at a stretch. Currently shopping for other brands to replace.

detailedReviews 67: content: On opening the very well packaged LinkBuds Fit, l was very impressed with the marble looking case. To connect to your phone you remove the earbuds from the charging case and they then are in Bluetooth mode, so set up was simple. With the QR code inside the package that they come in, you can download the app for sony new Connect Sound app then you can use it to customise the earbuds from the likes of equaliser settings and noise cancelling modes. If you want to connect to a music player you put the buds back in the charging case then press the button on the back and hold for 5 to 10 seconds and they are in Bluetooth mode once more. On opening the package you also find earbud tips of different sizes and the all important charging cable. Once in your ear they are very comfortable and the sound was extremely good considering the size of the buds. I really like the touch controls just a little bit of practice and no problems. Overall these noise cancelling earbuds and the sound you get from them it is Sony at their finest would I recommend only one word yes.

detailedReviews 68: content: Owned for 2 years. The battery has completely failed. A week ago I was still getting 10-20mintues from the left ear bud. Now I only get 1-2 minutes. The right earbud lasts around 30 minutes. Otherwise, these were amazing ear buds with great noise cancelling. I used them mainly on airplanes when my Bose QuietComforts were too hot in the summertime.
Sadly, due to the complete battery failure of both ear buds, I have had to resort to using my trusty old Jabra Elite Active 65T which are about 6 years old and still work fine despite sitting un-used on the shelf for 2 years while I used the LinkBuds. I'm amazed the Jabra's still work, still hold charge, etc!
I expected a lot more from a Sony product in terms of build quality, not just sound quality. For a nearly $400 ear bud you would expect at least 5 years of reliable use.

They sound great!
Ambient features vs noise canceling is nice, easily set different levels of ANC.
App lets you control and even disable touch controls.
One ear listening works, microphone works with one ear but better with two. You can make calls in any environment without difficulty.
Included app makes it easy toggle from noise canceling to ambient. seal is okay but even imperfect it is comfortable for long periods of listening.
Case works well with magnets to set buds into place
CONS:
1 year warranty
after 15-months battery in right bud discharges quickly ( varies between 20 min and 90 min ) as compared to the left. Whereas it used to warn low battery a few times it now just fails and shuts off.
Firmware update never cleanly applied from iphone 16 with sound connection app. Does not seem to affect usage.
Sometimes its slow to toggle when making a call from the phone to the bluetooth. Somewhat less of a problem on my iPhone 16 - may be an apple “feature”

detailedReviews 71: content: I picked these up in early 2023 and they worked pretty good for what I needed out of them. They were always a little finicky if you swapped out the buds quickly from the case, with them sometimes dropping off and not connecting to Sonys app. Aside from that I thought they were fantastic...
That is, until a few weeks ago, I finally had them updated through the app (something I'm always lagging behind on) and now my right earbud can barely make it past 45 minutes of play time. It sounds like this was a common issue after a software update released by Sony in the past year. Before this update I would have said definitely recommend, but I don't think I could recommend them now and I don't think my overall confidence in this product will ever recover.
Good:

However, about 3 months ago the battery life in the right earbud suddenly diminished significantly. It now only lasts about 15 minutes each use. From comments I can find online, this is a known problem for this model and seems to be related to the firmware. However once the battery is gone, there's apparently no coming back, and it's not possible to replace the batteries. I went to a registered Sony technician and they said there was nothing they could do. I am disappointed as these were quite expensive at the time and apart from the battery issue the sound still works excellently. I guess now they will want us to buy a new set, though I think I will avoid be avoiding Sony from now on.

detailedReviews 73: content: This is a SONY issue. Purchased these 7-12-22 and now the left earbud can only hold a full charge for roughly 30-40 mins. After going through the suggested actions with SONY Customer Support, they directed me to a repair company that they are affiliated with for further direction.
The company said that the cost to repair and resynch the earbud would be about the same cost as repurchasing the product new as the product is now out of warranty. This is not the first time a SONY product I've purchased has had issues around 2 years after the initial purchase.
The repair company said I could look at eCommerce sites like eBay to buy the earbud, and then send it off to the repair company for resynching, which would cost about half the original purchase price of the Link Buds.
This will be the final SONY branded electronic I buy after a near lifelong dedication to them. When quality sinks, customers look elsewhere. Save your time and money and research other earbuds/headphones.

A few weeks later, the right earbud began to make static-clicking noises. It's the same story with my husband's black ones. As time passed, the reoccurrence of these very uncomfortable noises got so frequent we stopped using them.
I used Sony earbuds for many years; I had previously used Sonny's WF-1000XM5 Wireless Noise for a few years - they were perfect! These, however, are perfect only if you like to waste money. If you are neurodivergent, DO NOT BUY THEM!

Pros: Sound quality, app user friendly, customizable control configuration, decent noise cancelling.
Cons: Poor connectivity. If you are sitting, or walking your connection is good. If you are working out or doing movements like yard work you will lose connection off and on. I have tried the troubleshooting and this has not fixed the problem.
Does not stay in ear well. I have to readjust often. It could just be my ears, but I have tried several different size silicon bud tips with no success.

detailedReviews 77: content: Bought this LinkBuds S while looking at another model from Sony because this has the Hi-Res Audio which had a very distinctive difference in audio quality. The audio quality though good still does not raise an eyebrow. It is still very much better than many other brands' headphones out there but for the price, I would have expected a little more.
The looks and feels of the headphones is wonderful (you might not find anything out there that looks as nice) and fits even the oddest ear shapes (mine) quite comfortably but the casing when being closed is on the loose end (giving the feel of you slamming the cover closed). The material of the case also appears to be a little "soft" and scratches very easily when put into a bag or pouch containing other items that you would normally find in it. Battery life appears to be sufficient for a day of moderate use when both the headphones and case are fully charged.
Overall a very small and surprisingly powerful and feature packed headphones but a little on the pricy side given its erratic performance.
The headphones's connection/signal quite frequently drops and disconnect from my mobile (even when both devices are fully charged and when I'm holding my mobile directly in front of my at a distance of no more than 0.5m and not having any other apps running in the background). You will need to touch the headphones to have it reconnected to the device.
The noise cancelling is also a little weak as there are other devices out there that truely cancels out the outside noise. If the noise cancelling feature is very important, you will be slightly disappointed with this model.

Sound was clear with good separation, lacking a bit on the low end no matter how it was E.Q.d, but pleasant enough. Transparency was excellent. App was busy with a bunch of unnecessary artistic choices as well as trying to push additional fluff. I started having issues with moderately uneven battery drain at about 8 months and over the next 3 months, noticed run time getting shorter and shorter. Right before I trashed them, I would get maybe 2 hours of run time. I expect at least 2 years before I start having battery issues. detailedReviews 79: content: I have always owned Samsung Galaxy phones, and have always used Samsung earbuds for almost 8 years. I typically get a newer model galaxy earbud earbuds when I upgrade my phone every 3 to 4 years.
Last year July 2023, when I was due to get a new earbud, I decided to try a different brand, and after much research, decided to go with Sony. Based on recommendations I chose the Sony LinkBud S. Sadly, I came to regret that decision very quickly.
The Linkbuds started giving issues by Sept 2023, just 3 months after purchasing them. The bluetooth connectivity kept dropping, meaning I would be on a call and while not even moving at all, they would suddenly loose connectivity and the call would be through only my phone. I did updates via the app on my phone, and tried several other troubleshooting methods, but the issue continued. I ignored and continued using them.
Last month (June), just when the headsets were under one year old, the battery power on each earpiece started going out within 30 mins of intermittent use. They could be 100% charged, but would go out after three or four 5 min calls. I don't even use them for music or any heavy streaming. Just only phone calls! This is a little bit frustrating to me. My galaxy earbuds never really lost battery holding power, and I used every one that I owned for at least 3 years before changing them.
I have observed them for a month now (since June) and the problem persists. I expected a lot more from a Sony product, and I am totally dissatisfied with these earbuds.

Packaging was very sparse, just a clear plastic bag, but everything was included (cable, extra tips, etc.). The only reason that I dropped a star is that there was no documentation included, and I had to read manuals that were easily found and available online. My total after tax, shipping, coupons, etc. was $45.27, and the features and performance of these buds, especially when used with the free, downloadable phone based app, are WAY above the price. Noise cancelling, battery life, microphone quality for calls, fit in ear, comfort during long use (hours), multi point pairing, voice commands and activation, and features of the free app were all better than I expected. It took some effort to get it all right, but the end result was worth it. If you can achieve a good seal in your ears, the sound quality is very good for wireless bluetooth.

detailedReviews 82: content: I bought this a couple of weeks ago. The main intent was to use them for online meetings (Teams and the like). A lot of reviews pointed to this being a great choice and praised strong mic performance, both for delivering clear sound and removing any background noise, as well as pretty good ANC. However, what none of them mentions (and Sony doesn't market, if you go to the product page it's never mentioned) is the Sidetone function. Essentially, the moment you enter a call, this feature activates automatically and it passes through to you all the voices of everyone else around you, regardless of your noise cancelling settings. In the end, I hear the people around me more loudly than without the earbuds, sometimes perhaps more loudly than you hear the person on the other side of the call. So I started googling my issue and in the end found an official help page that said that this behaviour is a feature, that it's by design, and that it couldn't be disabled. At all. Which means that the only way to have a meeting with these for me is to go sit in an empty office. At which point I could have gone with a $20 pair of earbuds and in those conditions they would have worked fine. People speculate why it's like this (no official explanation) and mostly think that it's a safety feature. Probably so that I don't get hit by a bus while I'm sitting in my office (because ANC has no issues with blocking the outside world while I'm out and about listening to music on the go - go figure!).

detailedReviews 83: content: I purchased these in 2022 and all was fine - the quality was good, sound was good and they fitted well. About 2.5 years afterwards in the space of a couple of weeks the batteries lost all ability to hold charge. Initially they would last for 5+ hours on a charge, but they then went to losing practially all their charge in about half an hour, making them essentially useless. I googled this problem and it seems to be widely reported and discussed. My earbuds were obviously out of the 1 year warranty but I contacted Sony and they investigated but would not offer anything other than suggsting i pay for a repair. They accepted no liability for what is clearly a well known fault. To be left with something that is now no more than a paperwieght after only 2.5 years unless i pay to fix or replace it is unacceptable. I will not be buying another pair.

title: Batteries lost all ability to hold charge
detailedReviews 84: content: I purchased these earbuds on sale due to reviews of size, sound, and function. I thought they'd be a step up from my Anker Liberty 4 NCs in terms of listening to music as well as Teams calls, since I do both many hours a day.
Liberty 4 unexpectedly beats these in several key areas for me:
-Seamless multipoint connections; Liberty 4 jumps back and forth automatically with no need to use an app whereas the Linkbuds S needs a clunky transition
-Comfort: Liberty 4 give me no issues and stay in whereas Linkbuds S has only been somewhat comfortable using after market foam tips. Even Spinfit was uncomfortable. The plastic earbud part itself is reasonably small, just the depth and positioning needed. Liberty sits nicely not too far in the ear so it's not weird while chewing or talking. Sony needs to be further in and has a pressure sensation for me.
-Sound: unexpectedly, not much difference. I will note that Liberty is much better than other Anker buds in terms of sound.
-Battery life: longer with Liberty 4
Noise cancelling is slightly better with the Linkbuds S but the sensation is odd to me.
The only issue with Liberty 4 is when the stems are straight down there can be a rattle upon movement. When I tilt them slightly forward, though, no issues.
The biggest mystery to me is the multipoint connection clunkiness. Cheaper buds have sorted this out.

title: Clunky multipoint connection, uncomfortable for long use
detailedReviews 85: content: These buds are a great size and sounds everything I wanted and with the Sony brand I thought I could rely on that for build quality. Unfortunately this isn't the case.
The buds are clearly designed to last for their 12 month warranty period and after that they dived off a cliff. Just before the warrant expired I started getting uneven battery drain with the right bud draining quicker. Overall battery life began to drop as well. By month 13 the falloff was shocking. Very frustrating, considering the cost!. After contacting Sony I was asked to reinitialise and reset the buds. This clearly did nothing other than hide the obvious, the cheap batteries used here were simply incapable of holding charge any longer and the re-initialisation of software masks this by resetting the 100% status to a lower point. By month 15 the right bud last 6 minutes before dying and I get around 15 from the left. They are clearly unusable and just more plastic landfill.
Sony is now marketing their products as being plastic free in the packaging and using recycled plastics on the products. While in reality they are designing this product to last 12 months. I cannot express here how much you should avoid these buds, unless you think £10 per month cost for the lifetime of a pair of buds is good value and enjoy creating plastic waste.

detailedReviews 86: content: Into my 3rd month of using, the product quality seemed questionable at times, accompanied by many occasional glitches.
First off, started to appear very early on, the earbuds have turned themselves on inside thick pockets, especially ones made with synthetic or fleece materials. Online reviews and comments appear to show similar issues from many users. Potential static issue.
Second, the mic quality is below average. Multiple people say that they can’t hear what I’m saying on the phone or voice chats, especially in medium to high level of environmental noise where other earbuds or wired earphones function just fine.
Third, static and blank sound exists on my left earbud. Whenever my head turns left or right, the left earbud sensor seems to malfunction for a brief period and stops playing music a few seconds on only the left side. Static clicking sound frequents the left earbud too. Often begins randomly, with the slow paced irregular clicking lasting hours on end.
Product warranty is below average. Sony only offers months of warranty and the warranty criteria is very strict.

detailedReviews 87: content: I bought these headphones becuse I was instrested in their size, but oh wow they are so amazing. Their sound is super clean and bass uff. But what I love the most is the system they have. Basically, they have these sensors on the buds that you can use to up or down the volumen or even stop the music. That is so heapful! They also have an amazing system that cancels the exterioir sound. To me these are the best buds in the market. Tuani earbuds!
But, I had to buy another set cause someone stole my old ones. A vist I have came to my apartment and took them. Smh. I looked for them and couldn't find them. Because I had follen in love with these earbuds i had to buy them again. It is what it is. They are worthy

detailedReviews 88: content: I originally bought a pair of these earphones for my wife. She has tiny ears that push out every earphone design….until now. These are perfect for smaller ears. I borrows them one day and loved them so much that I decided to buy a pair for myself.
It can take a bit of time to get the sound you prefer. There are lots of sound options on the app, but, with patience, you will find a sound that you like. They will never be a competitor for more expensive earphones, however, at this price point, they are outstanding value.
The app takes a while to navigate around. Sony set theirs out differently from others, but 20 mins and perhaps a you tube tutorial will help you accelerate your learning to get the best out of them.
Battery life feels the same as my Jabra 85T’s. About 2.5 hours on a full noise cancelling session. The inserts are comprehensive silicone inserts. I prefer a softer in ear foam insert and bought something I’ve used for years. Sonic Foam memory ear tips. You can find them in Amazon. Once rolled and compressed in the finger and thumb before positioning, they expand for a tight fit and plenty of good bass and treble. They fit well into the case and close crisply with the alternative ear insert.
I scored them down from 5 star to 4 star as the case doesn’t have a Q charging facility like others. You have to plug the case in for charging. It’s not really a problem, but it’s also not like the competitors.
The material is recycled plastic and has a slightly rougher feel. It works perfectly welll.
You can personalise single taps between 1 and 4 for each ear to program up to 8 functions.
I can often travel by air and these buds have cleared out the screaming children, adults and engine noise pretty well with their noise cancelling. It won’t take everything away. More like 70-80%. The rest disappears when you have music playing.
I remain glad to have purchased these. I suppose a good test would be to ask what I would do if I lost them? I’d buy another pair immediately.

detailedReviews 89: content: These buds worked absolutely great for about 22 months! Very comfortable, paired very well with my TV, and the noise reduction worked perfectly and was easy to switch on and off. Unfortunately, the charging case has gotten wacky and I’m now getting less than 2 hours usage from the buds before I have to recharge them. Even after sitting on the charger overnight, as soon as I pull the first bud out of the case, the light on the case turns orange, indicating less than full charge. Then the left bud dies in about an hour and a half, with the right bud dying soon after. I have to say, I really expected better from Sony and I’m now going to replace these with some Bose. It’s a shame.

detailedReviews 90: content: I bought these ear buds about a year and a half ago, I would expect at least 2 years of solid reliable use from them, however after the 1 year mark they began to malfunction. Initially the left earbud battery would only last an hour or two, before I realised the magnet in the charging case was interfering with the recharging. If you have the AI assistant activated, this also reduces the battery life massively. Soon after managing to rectify this somewhat, I encountered the dreaded 'wind noise' issue with the right ear bud, meaning I can no longer use ambient sound mode. This seems to be a widespread issue with these buds and Sony will not fix after the years warranty. Beware if you plan to keep the ear buds for more than a year.

detailedReviews 91: content: I bought this in February this year. The noise cancellation works fine, as does the sound mixing on the app. I also appreciated the use of recycled material in the earbuds and box. However, connecting to Bluetooth on my iPhone sometimes takes a few tries. For months, I had an issue where the Linkbuds would connect to my Laptop and provide audio output for Youtube/Netflix videos, but have no audio output for Zoom/Whatsapp/Teams calls despite apparently being connected and working. I visited the Sony Store and the staff helped me to reset the Linkbuds, so the problem now seems to be solved. It's a fair purchase for the price, but is a bit glitchy at times.

detailedReviews 92: content: The sound is great. The noise canceling and pass-through also sound great. Great connection with my phone and watch, I never had drop-outs. The battery life, when new, was great. However, the battery is now to the point where the right earbud is dead after 25-30 minutes despite starting with a full charge. These are only 15 months old, of course just outside the warranty window. That's a major disappointment and makes these effectively short-term e-waste. I suppose it's a similar story for most earbuds, unfortunately.

detailedReviews 93: content: So incredibly disappointed with this product. First off, the multipoint connection - it does not automatically have this and you have to download their app and a firmware add-on to get multi-point functionality. Even with the firmware added, it works horrendously. If my laptop and my phone are both connected - even if my phone is the first priority and is actively playing something - the headphones will not play any sound until I disconnect them from the laptop. And finally, one headphone has suddenly stopped holding its charge. Unfortunately they are now outside the 1 year warranty, so I have spent a lot of money on a flimsy product that lasted me less than 2 years. Avoid!!

I would charge it for an hour but one of the buds would be on 70% and the other 100%. However, the batteries would only last 5 minutes. They were good in the beginning, batteries would last two days, sound is great, controls were easy to use. But over time the batteries got worst and worst. Now, they won't charge properly and it's not worth it to use it. I don't know if I got a defected one or it's just a common thing with Sony. detailedReviews 95: content: Here's an Audiophile Review
My test tracks for these were Dolby Atmos tracks on Tidal.
My initial impression... Poor bass definition is the biggest standout. Activating the noise cancellation degrades the sound quality and makes the bass muddier. Not good.
The treble's a bit sharp but that would probably ease as they break in. Mids are fairly strong. Putting the right size ear plugs on is essential to making these listenable. The fact that the equalizer needs immediate tweaking is not a good sign.
The sound stage these present is a little odd and spacey as well.
Physically the surface of them, case included, is rough like fine sand paper. Non slip to be sure but not an elegant feel.
It's back to my good old wired Sony MegaBass earbuds. Far better, more natural, clearer, fuller, cleaner sound with better definition for $35.

I contacted Sony and they said they can't do anything for me since it is past warranty. So disappointing. Loved these but can't recommend, only warn you that they will not likely last more much than a year. I should also note, I never only just used or charged one bud, always together. Clearly a battery issue. Now I either have to buy new (not Sony) or pay to ship them to a service centre so they can assess them and let me know how much the repair cost is. My guess is it will be over $100 for shipping there and back + repair.

Sound is good but can stop in one ear from time to time. Controls can be a little fussy as when you are putting them in you need to hold the edges or it thinks you are giving it taps for various things. Its alerts for battery levels are good. Quite compact which is good so easy to pocket. They slip onto the charge/storage box very easily. Connects easily to different devices. Only concern is sound cutting out in one ear..seems a random fault and doesn’t occur often.

detailedReviews 98: content: Great sounding earbuds, they're lightweight and comfortable. Sound adjustment via the Sound connect app adds more punch to the bass or greater highlights in the mids and high notes, you can customise or choose from a selection of options to suit. The battery is great when on basic sound quality, ~4hrs, but it will drain fast if you use DSEE extreme and better codecs (LDAC) so you'll only get ~1.5hrs at best. Though 5mins in the case gives a decent amount of charge but not if you're on a long haul flight. The best part is the noise cancelling, which is the best I've experienced in such small earbuds. I have small ear canals/ears and even with the smallest attachment they still don't feel secure. I really like how they look but that is all they have going for them. My favorite so far despite the poor mic quality is the Beats noise canceling ear buds. Secure, reliable, easy, and sounds good. Samsung is good and sound core is good. These are terrible. I own at least seven pairs of various earbuds , because I am autistic and wear them while taking my boys to and from school to cancel out excess noise while I drive on the freeway and misplace them often (hence the missing pairs from the image) I wish the sony sleep buds were bluetooth for music, etc ,those fit beautifully, I loved them. detailedReviews 102: content: These buds deliver astonishing quality audio - easily the best I’ve heard. Unless you’re happy to spend your listening time constantly fighting this feature I’d avoid this product.

detailedReviews 103: content: The LinkBuds S have very good sound and bass, but inconsistent ANC (Active Noise Canceling) and a pretty terrible noise amplifier software.
