Printed quite bit in the first weekend on Pro Glossy II and 13x19 Pro Platinum Canon paper and the results are impressive to say the least. Canon's software is not difficult to learn and is simple to get started. I did not like the integration with Lightroom printing (Adobe to blame there), but Canon's own Professional Print and Layout software (download on their website) is extremely well made.
Cost breakdown on ink is roughly 30 cents for a 4x6, 50 cents for a 5x7, and $1.39 for 13"x19"... which the detail and color gamut are simply out of this world.
For those wondering, this model is essentially the same as the Canon Pixma Pro 200, with very minor changes to WiFi security and connection, more Eco-Friendly packaging, and the little S on the printer. This model uses the same ink as its discontinued predecessor.

I found out that when running the driver set-up, even though it was automatically selecting “Canon 200S” as the driver, I had to manually select “Canon 200s” from the drop-down menu to get it to use the correct driver and not automatically go to AirPrint (which was printing horrible quality and kept telling me I had the wrong paper size, when I didn’t).
After fixing that I had issues with 8x10 prints getting ink on the corners. I thought raising the printhead would fix it, but “avoid paper abrasion” was the correct setting to fix that issue. I appreciate these settings, it’s just a manner of learning to use them! Canon support was not helpful, I found the answers to my issues elsewhere.
Now I’ve got it all figured it out I’m very happy with the quality. The prints look a little richer than the Pro-100 prints, but they look great and similar enough that I can keep all my old settings.

Setup is easy with a printer cable (not supplied). The 200S recognizes the paper you use, has a small screen to inform the user what is happening, and produces gorgeous prints. If you have a working Pro-100 or 200, not sure I would upgrade. My pro-100 stopped working and I have been very happy with this new printer.

Improvement Points: Printer didn't work as it had a fault. Technical department said take it back to the shop. Easier said than done with a printer that requires two people to lift it and it was bought over the internet. Resolved by the shop getting in another new printer and exchanging the faulty part.

Improvement Points: The head doesn't seem to perfectly align for disk printing; I have a small ring around the edge (however going to try silver print bodies instead of white and the fraction of a mm won't be noticeable then...hopefully).

detailedReviews 73: content: Faulty print head. Only 3 months into a 4 year replacement plan, Best Buy replaced it, but I would need to buy another replacement plan for the new one. Was told when I bought it that "if they can't fix it, they would replace it". Didn't even try to trouble shoot after I dragged that heavy thing to the store. Disappointed in Canon's manufacturing and Best Buy's customer policies.
