items: items 1: content: Design and Build Quality: The MacBook has a really nice design with durable materials. The aluminum design is solid, premium and looks very elegant. It's very light (2.8 pounds) which is less than I expected.
Performance: The M1 chip seems to be very powerful for pretty much anything even video editing. However, for video editing and more resource intense tasks I'd recommend the Pro model. I love how it never gets hot and it's always quiet. I mainly use it for office tasks and it runs very smoothly. For gaming, I'd recommend a gaming laptop/PC since MacBooks are not built for this purpose.
Battery Life: It has good battery life, it really depends on the usage but I can browse, watch videos, check emails, FaceTime and work on Word or Excel and it can last the full day (about 6-8 hours) with some power left. I rarely use it on battery which could have a negative impact on my battery, but it definitely has good battery life.
Display: There isn't much to add, it's beautiful, text and images appear sharp and the True Tone technology adapts the color to the ambient lighting which is nice. Overall, it's a beautiful display and you will notice it.
Keyboard and trackpad: I love to type on this MacBook, it has the upgraded keyboard which is more reliable and durable than the messy butterfly keyboard from older models. It's comfortable to type in and it's very quiet. The trackpad, like any other Apple product is among the best, I don't think any other laptop comes close to how nice the trackpad is.
Software: It supports the latest OS as of the time of writing this review (Sequoia) and it's compatible with Apple Intelligence which is nice, it doesn't add many features but it's nice to have compatibility. In terms of software support it's still updated by Apple, based on older MacBooks and their lifecycle it should support OS upgrades for at least 2 years, and perhaps 1 or 2 more years after that of security updates, but it's not official until Apple confirms it. This can be important if you're thinking of keeping it for longer than that since many apps drop support for older OS versions after a while. In addition to software support, an important aspect of Mac OS is the compatibility with other Apple devices and how nicely everything integrates. If you don't have any other Apple devices it's still a very powerful laptop that can be used as just that, a laptop, but being in the Apple ecosystem I can notice the advantages of the OS integration with my iPhone, iPad and AirPods.

items 2: content: Right out of the box, it feels super light and thin — like you can carry it around all day and barely feel it in your bag. It’s got that sleek Apple look, and the screen is really clear and sharp. Just turning it on, it feels fast. Like, really fast. Apps open instantly, and nothing lags or freezes, even when I have a bunch of tabs and apps open.
Performance
I don’t do crazy editing or gaming, but I use mine for everyday stuff — Zoom calls, typing, emails, watching Netflix, editing some photos, running Spotify, browsing the web — and it handles everything effortlessly. You don’t hear any noise because it has no fan. It stays cool, too, which surprised me. Just smooth and quiet all the time.
Battery Life
This part still shocks me — the battery lasts forever. I’ll charge it at night and forget about it, and it still has power the next day or even the day after that. Like, I’m not stressing about finding a charger when I’m out or at a coffee shop.

Definitely worth a penny. Was formerly a windows user though my laptop is of the high end but it suffers in performance when it is not connected to a charger. The touchpad is superior from all touchpads I tried. The keyboard is ergonomic though you have to get used to their commands and the awkward screenshot shortcut. The Mac keeps its performance even if it was on battery. The screen is also super clear since it has a higher resolution and brightness.

items 4: content: I'm not going to make the ram argument here; I just know I'm a fairly heavy user and I have no problems whatsoever with 8gbs of ram. It really is enough and there is memory swap that works perfectly as a counter if you are to for some reason exceed your regular 8gbs. I love this Macbook Air M1. I had one in the past with 16gbs and sold it because it was overkill for the price. Now that I just spent less than half with what feels like the same product in usage, I'd recommend this laptop to anybody. Especially windows users. Heck anybody looking for a laptop that you aren't going to be playing games on. For that I recommend a desktop anyways so yeah, this laptop and price is unbeatable. Mine came just like it was from apple, brand new the battery was completely dead which tells me it was sitting around for a while but I do have the chance to get apple care withing 60 days so I may or may not pull the trigger but regardless the 1 year warranty should suffice as am careful with things and if anything goes wrong it won't be my fault.
But really guys and girls, this is a 10/10 price value experience, you won't find another device that matches this for $699. It really is the sweet spot. Plus, this M1 chip is fire, they really outdid themselves. Stays completely cool, battery lasts like 12 hours, I could go on, but I feel like I'm putting myself to sleep here just saying the same thing over and over again in different ways.

Performance:Quality. 💯
Best Feature:Legit Apple Product.
I ordered this exactly 1 week ago. I had to check and test it first before writing this review, and so far, I am very much happy and satisfied with this MacBook. I ordered it using my SpayLater with 0% interest for only 35k. So worth it.
The package was very secure upon arrival. It came with 3 boxes and was bubble-wrapped inside (very secure). I ordered it on April 15, and the package arrived the next day on April 16. The shipment was so fast, and based on my observation, the courier really prioritized this package for immediate delivery. The customer service was very accommodating. They answered all of my questions regarding this MacBook.
I also did research before buying it. The MacBook M1 is still worth purchasing even if it’s not the latest anymore. It’s still fast and very sleek—perfect for office use. The battery life is quite okay. In my experience, the battery charge lasts up to 15 hours of continuous use.
Yey! Thank you so much, seller.

items 6: content: If you want to experience significant upgrades in an apple computer, then the MacBook Air with the M1 chip is definitely the one to buy. It's one of the fastest and most cost-efficient choices for a computer where technology has come together to create a tremendous change in experience for laptop computer users.
Between Apple's proprietary M1 chip that is fanless, solid state hard drive, retina screen display and upgraded sound system, an incredibly extended battery life before the need to recharge and much more, the new apple technology literally constitutes the wave of the future. The overall performance enhancements clearly put you in the driver's seat and establish considerable measurable distance from the previous evolution of computing in general.
Literally every detail has been given attention to improvements with the end-user constantly in mind. Speed of processing is near instantaneous and regardless of software program complexity, the MacBook Air M1 simply sets it all in motion at blistering speeds. While some complain that apple products are costly, the advantages of becoming part of the apple technology environment makes it worth every penny.
The seamlessness between apple products is yet again another favorable feature and whether for business or pleasure, you'll find yourself able to be completely connected throughout your array of apple devices. They've literally captured the market in our opinion because their focus upon technology and consumer needs is unparalleled by the competition. It's very safe to say that switching to the apple family of products means never having to look back because the company is constantly taking its consumers forward at an ever faster pace.
You should also be on the lookout for the new M2 processing chip and related products that will be driven by it, many of which are projected to be out sometime this year. Very frankly, the experience of using our apple products on a daily basis is one that we look forward to with the complete confidence that we're interfacing with the technology around us using the best possible assets.
We just purchased two MacBook Air M1 computers and the new iOS Mac iPad with the M1 chip. Together with our other apple products, we've moved well forward to the cutting edge of features and technology that we seek as consumers. Apple truly has assembled a winning team that has surrounded itself with a business model to produce absolute premier computers and other apple products capable of defining innovation in a way no other company can achieve.
Throughout our entire experience with apple products since 2011, we've never once encountered problems. Not once, and it represents a shining example of quality control, attention to detail and the constant look well forward into what consumers need most in technology and reliability.
Based upon our experience, just as Microsoft had taken the market by storm with windows very early on, Apple is well on its way to completely ruling the computer and communications environment because it not only continues to surprise and satisfy with the latest technology but also the most innovative as well.
Without any hesitation, we grant apple products 5 stars.

items 9: content: I mean that in a good way. First of all, to anyone saying these are "refurbished" or used units, they are not. Brand new, factory sealed.
Never had a Mac anything before, but have Apple phones/Ipads. Coming from a Windows PC, there is a bit of a learning curve/tricks and shortcuts (keyboard functions). But Apple products can work together (like photo sharing and such) and if you have an Apple ID already, you're ahead of the game at first startup. Most likely there will be an Operating system update to do when you start it up, so expect that. Doesn't take that long.
Difference between the Mac and the iPhone is that Mac will not have the Apps your phone does. You will have to navigate through Safari/Chrome (whatever you choose) and setup bookmarks instead. Not a big deal, just be aware.
Battery life so far is crazy good. I used it for two hours, for example, and lost 8%. I've never had any latptop do that. I enjoy the quick startup when you open the cover. Fingerprint reader is slick. Even a full restart is fast.
I'm just digging into the machine and the Operating System, and I know I'll be doing photo editing and some videos very soon. Will add MS Office in some way too.
Love the "old" style exterior, it fits this laptop very well. Sturdier than the plastic on some of my older laptops. And its light enough too. For the price this is the way to go for casual/moderate computer users. Even if Apple only supports updates for the next 4-5 years, it will still be viable for a few years after (for me). Since they are selling more of these in 2024, they may support it longer?
You can spend more for faster chips, more memory etc with newer models, it's up to you and your budget. Never thought I'd buy one, but at the $699 price it worked with my wallet. The lower price doesn't make this unit "cheap" or less capable, I applaud Apple for trying to make it more affordable and attracting a larger audience.

I was really opting to buy the MBA M2, but I can say that I made a good decision in purchasing the MBA M1. It's still worth it in 2024 esp. in my line of work where I don't need a heavy-duty laptop.

items 12: content: The battery on this thing is simply insanely exceptional. Like there is no way something this small delivering this much power can do it with this much longevity. I had videos playing in the back while doing app development and this thing had juice to keep going for a few more hours.
Big pros: nice keyboard (ANSI layout in this one), top facing speakers, max portability. OS X also gets regular updates to (for now) Sonoma on this so don't worry about the software. You get the Apple kitchen sink software with the laptop, obviously.
Cons: not my favorite shape, the new flatter macs has more appeal imo. Scratch magnet if you don't clad this laptop with a thicc sleeve. Only 2 type C ports, you'll need a dongle. RAM and SSD are baked in, you can't upgrade.
I was hesitant to buy the product at first fearing Arabic keyboard but the other buyers photos gave me confidence I'm getting an ANSI layout which for productivity is so important to me.

items 14: content: Excellent for the price. The M1 is plenty plenty powerful and more than enough for the average person. Apple cleverly understands this and rightfully sells this as the “budget” MacBook Air. Let’s be very clear, this isn’t some budget Windows PC with an i3. You’re getting Apple quality, build and performance for a great price. Why? The technology has finally caught up. You’re not seeing drastic increases in performance anymore compared to processors of generations past. Just look at the YouTube reviews from professionals. Yeah you could get an M3 or an M2.. and they’ll be just a little faster, but is that speed necessary for the extra $300-$400 dollars? I doubt it. You’re probably not using this computer for hard core photos or video editing. But it can easily handle light photo/video editing. And I doubt most of you are even using it for that. Word processing, web browsing, email, work. That’s not taxing this machine unless you’re pushing fairly hard. It’s finally the democratization of Apple and I love it. Good for students especially.

items 16: content: I bought my first M1 Air in 2020, I have always had Airs and Pros.
The M1 was a game changer.
The balance between battery life and power is incredible.
The screen is still one of the best out there, speakers that don't make you wince and a resale value that makes most Windows machines at half the price far more expensive to own overall.
I usually upgrade to the last every 3 years and give one of the kids my old machine, but the M1 macbook is so good I have just kept mine and bought my son, now starting GCSEs one as well.
As long as you don't want to be playing the latest triple A games it does everything so well.
I do music production with mine and video editing using DaVinci, and it does it all so well.
With Cash back this was around £750 new, a 3 year old used one is still £600 if boxed and mint, which shows that once you are on the Apple train it is very cheap to keep upgrading.
They loose around 25-30% over 3 years, Windows machines loose around 60-70% over the same period.
One of the best tech products I have ever purchased and I am a tech junky.
10 out of 10.

I’ve had mine since release and this machine buzzes like no other. It literally never hiccups. They kind of screwed themselves when making this thing as great as it is because there really has been no need to upgrade for the average user.
What is average? My use case is browsing the web, streaming video, plugging it into a 4k 32” monitor of which NEVER lags even with the increased resolution and a ton of apps open on that larger screens surface area.
Unless you need the newest to showcase your status, this thing will do and continue to do everything you need it to.

items 21: content: Bought with trade in of my old MacBook Pro (Mid 2012 Unibody). Was happily surprised by the trade in value offered for a 10+ year old device and made this upgrade an absolute no brainer!
The M1 Apple silicon chip is like a hyperdrive spaceship compared to a high performance sports car of the "old" Intel i series of processors. 8GB of RAM is perfectly sufficient. If you think you need more than this, potentially consider a MacBook Pro of the same year (though the specs are very similar).
The 256GB hard drive might be a little on the small side for some, but as I have company access to MS OneDrive, the majority of my storage needs are fulfilled by the cloud. Similarly, I personally have very little need for multiple input ports, but some may find this limiting, especially as the charger takes up one of the two available USB C inputs. This is where the M2 devices have a bit of an advantage over the 2020 edition, with the addition of MagSafe charging.
The styling and weight it an absolute massive win for me as well!
My general experience of Apple products is: YES they are expensive. BUT if you don't treat them like a fashion accessory they are usually good for many years of use compared to Android (tablets and phones) or Microsoft equivalents. Once you do the cost per year calculations, they're actually not *THAT* much more expensive and in my eyes are a far superior product. Thankfully, there are plenty of people out there who can afford to treat these things as a fashion accessory, so there is almost always a healthy supply of good quality used devices available.
I wouldn't consider purchasing one from online auctions. You might save a further £50 or so, but people tend to over value their devices there. They paid top dollar and expect top dollar back with none of the warranties offered by companies such as CeX! Yes, the warranty is limited, and you should check the Ts and Cs, but this is still better than no warranty at all!

items 22: content: The perfect "everyday" laptop for most people
With the M1 chip, this laptop can handle anything and the performance is mind blowing. Apple have really nailed the processor, it's even faster than my desktop PC (Intel i7-8700k).
You never have to worry about too many tabs, watching multiple videos, or anything. This thing will handle it, no matter what.
It doesn't even have a fan, so cooling is not an issue, even on the most demanding use with the CPU at 100%. The laptop barely gets warm, making it comfortable to use on your lap.
Battery life is fantastic, it can easily last all day. This is the first laptop where I don't have to plug it in everyday.
This is the cheapest MacBook offering available right now with the M1 chip. In my opinion it represents the best "bang for your buck" MacBook offering right now.
