items 2: content: I’ve been a Windows and Chromebook user for most of my life, and I must admit, I’ve never had an experience quite like using a MacBook. I bought this device because my gaming laptop was too bulky to carry, and my Chromebook couldn’t handle some of the applications I needed for my homework and courses.
If I’m away from home, and I must say, I’m in love with it, I purchased the MacBook Pro 14” with 16GB of RAM. However, I decided to downgrade to the Air model because the 24GB RAM model was the same price, and I don’t regret the decision.
The Air 15” with 24GB of RAM is slightly lighter in my backpack, has more RAM, and includes two extra speakers that set it apart from the 13” Air. It can handle everything I do without getting warm. Granted, I only do light coding, but I always have multiple apps running in the background, and so far, it has never suffered any performance issues or throttling.
I would highly recommend the Air model over the Pro model if you’re going to use it for school, work, and daily activities. Getting the Air will not disappoint, especially if you upgrade to the 24GB RAM model, which will be a great investment for your future.
The only thing I would recommend is that you don’t put a hard case on the machine. This is mainly because the Air has no fans, and I’ve tried a few cases that trap the heat inside. I even tried a skin for the base and the inside to prevent fingerprints, but I noticed that the machine was still warming up while doing tasks that wouldn’t normally warm it up. So, instead of a case, a good sleeve is a must.

But when it comes to Laptops my choice is clearly Apple especially the affordable M4 Air.
First of al performance, it is so snappy that even my 16core desktop can’t even compared. Of course if you have to render big video projects it will be little slower but when you work on the same project before you render it, is ridiculously fast.
Battery is nowhere to compare with windows. I was using it for 3 days 5-6 hours a day with illustrator and photoshop at the same time each program had 3 projects running at the same time (total 6) and screen brightness at 70%.
No crashes no unexpected program terminations, just pure work on completely silent laptop.
By the way my Air has 16GB RAM 512GB storage and 15” screen.
I didn’t try Gaming on that laptop yet and I don’t think iam going to on a laptop that is meant to had the job done anywhere but my office.
And yes it is more expensive than the $500-$600 Windows laptops that every click is a questionable task. But it worth every single penny.
I understand that Apple OS is little different and that kept me away for many years, but is a matter of a couple of weeks to get familiar with it.
The Mac Air will probably last me at least 6-7 years before I will start considering getting a new one.
Windows laptops at that price are good for gaming and for some heavy tasks but they sound like jets and depend on a power outlet 90% of the time.

The M4 chip is a beast. No hiccups, like it's so good you don't even think you're using a computer, you're just going about your day doing 30 things at once and everything works flawlessly.
Sky blue color is gorgeous, and battery life is insane. I have a crappy dell latitude for work (worst computer u can spend 1.4 thousand dollars on) so I don't use this MacBook like on a 9-5 basis, but I use it a lot after work and on weekends. Internet surfing, and medium to heavy music production on GarageBand. If I'm not producing music, I could literally charge this once per week. If I was HEAVY producing in like 2-3 hour bursts then it'd last me a bit under 2 days (super impressive still). If it's medium producing and heavy web surfing then maybe 3-5 days on a single charge. Unreal. I've had this for a month and a half and I've charged it from low battery to 100 ONLY 11 TIMES!!!! You'd need a $3000 windows laptop to get 75% of that battery performance.
Also did I mention that Dell Latitudes are horribly awful?

Apple products obviously aren't cheap but we don't need to worry about the anti virus software which makes it more equitable with pc products.
