detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: This stuff is horrible. Don't use it. I now have red hair where my grey hair was, and dark hair everywhere else. It look ridiculous, And I can't color it for two weeks so I have to walk around looking like Little Orphan Annie but only the top inch and a half. If I had money I would get a lawyer and sue this stuff is so useless.
It also has a really weird odor to it.
I have been coloring my hair for 30 years, I consider myself an expert. I only do it 3 times a year if even, and this stuff is the worst stuff I have ever used. I have no issue coloring my hair. I don't have sensitive skin but this stuff is burning, even after I washed my hair 3 times trying to tone down the red.

title: Disappointed with color, not as advertised
detailedReviews 3: content: I’ve been dying my hair for years and never had a problem. I decided to try Simply Color bc I thought it was a better/healthier dye bc it’s ammonia-free. Nope! During the rinse process, I noticed my hair was shedding more than usual, and it kept shedding no matter how many times I ran my fingers through. I applied the conditioner... Still more shedding. I started to panic, I knew this was not normal. I washed my hair twice to try to get whatever I could out of my hair and scalp. More shedding when I washed my hair. As I applied my leave-in condtioner... More shedding. I contacted Schwarzkopf and have not heard from them. It turns out this product has a worse ingredient than ammonia. It’s called Ethanolamine, and it’s known to cause hair loss. I only hope my hair does not continue to fall out as some reviewers said their hair fell out for months afterwards. If you google it, you’ll see the following: Ethanolamine has been shown to damage hair more than ammonia, in some extreme cases as much as 85% more. And ethanolamine has been shown to cause more hair loss than ammonia.
FYI – Madison Reed has the same ingredient. Though I tried Madison Reed twice and didn’t notice any hair loss. Simply Color hair loss was off the charts.

detailedReviews 4: content: I’ve been coloring my hair for years and I’ve never lost hair in the massive amounts I have after using this product. Schwarzkopf was ALWAYS a solid brand (professionally) but it’s like this is made by a totally different company. I am absolutely horrified that I continue to lose hair six weeks out from using this product. So much in my shower, every single time I brush…I’ve never had this happen in my entire life. They should not be allowed to sell this product. For what it’s worth I was so concerned I reached out to my doctor and had him run tests and all of my tests came back normal so there’s that. Schwarzkopf should be ashamed of themselves.

detailedReviews 5: content: In exchange for my honest review, the amazing folks at #Influenster graciously sent me a box of SCHWARZKOPF SIMPLY COLOR ~ PERMANENT HAIR COLOR [in the shade of MEDIUM BLONDE], to test out on my straight, medium to dark blonde hair. I have now done so and gave it 2 weeks after [to see how it held up], and I am ready to share with my #InfluCrew the good😊, the bad☹.... and the ugly😳? 》》》GOOD》》》Let's begin on a positive note... SCHWARZKOPF went very green with "Simply Color" (and no, I don't mean the actual hair dye🙃). Starting with our heads and hair... this product has ZERO alcohol, ammonia, silicone... not only is removing those way less damaging for your hair... you can actually color your hair at home now without coughing your eyes welling shut from the terrible chemical fumes. To further soothe the scalp hair the ingredients include oat milk, soy protein argon oil. When I applied this on my hair... it was such a refreshing change from every other hair dye! Removing that ammonia alone makes it such a more pleasurable experience. Now, I have thicker hair that goes to my mid back. I used 1 box (because that's all I was sent and I was anxious to begin) I made it work, but in hindsight... I probably needed 2 boxes... fyi. Aside from the actually product being much gentler better for hair scalp [and apparently dermatologist tested as well]... their packaging is 100% recyclable, which I very much like... you can also keep the lid as it indicates the color you used and then you can write the date you colored on it. I believe that SCHWARZKOPF also takes part in the Terracyle program as well. So... I applied the lovely color on all my hair... no burning, no itching.... no issues. I rinse and blow dry and my hair is soft and... it appears to have covered my greys and looks nice... ??? 》》》 BAD》》》 BUT, (there's always a "but" isn't there?) even though it looked nice immediately after rinsing and drying overall I liked it... literally the very next shampoo, I started to see my greys... [I'm only 40... and I've had grey hair since my mid 30s... and unfortunately it frames my face, ugh!] what seemed like it fully covered my greys... showed them more more of after every shampoo (shamps, btw, has no sulfates is color safe) 》》》MY OPINION》》》Simply Color, seems more like a temporary or "wash out" hair color... definitely not a permanent color. But maybe my greys are just stubborn? who knows? This was just my experience my opinion and I hope it proves helpful to someone out there. Love Blessings!

detailedReviews 6: content: #influenster #influenstervoxbox #voxbox —————————— Simply Color BLONDE BUYERS BEWARE !! This is NOT for you. I wanted to get that out first before it is overlooked because it’s buried too far into a stranger’s Instagram post. See what’s up below! 🤦♀️😅👱♀️👱👱♂️ I Color in 8.0 Medium Blonde in an @influenster Vox Box in exchange for my honest feedback. So here it is, ya fools! 😜 Blondes, proceed at your own risk cuz this is very likely going to dye your hair brown. Yes, Brown. Which is the new “Medium Blonde” apparently. Brunettes, you are in luck! There are a LOT of very different, alternative reviews from dark-haired beauties who seem very happy with the results!! Chocolate Cherry is the winner. Redheads- I dunno. 🥸🥸🥸🥸🥸 I’ve been growing out my natural roots since just before the pandemic - first because I’m lazy, then bc was curious, and now just bc. I was still open to dying my hair, and received 1 dye package in the Box, despite long hair - I’m not going to spend my monies to buy a second box of this just YET, nice try... I noticed the 8.0 color looked super dark for the second lightest color they offer. So I did what the poor, unsuspecting people I later found weren’t able to do first- search the Interwebs for reviews and 🤞pictures. 🤞Oh the RAGE and REGRET I found... 😅😅😅😅 Since using the product was a NOPE at that point, I can only speak to the packagingcomponents. The market of this product is “natural” hair dye that contains good stuff in the place of traditional, potentially problematic ingredients like alcohol, silicone, ammonia, while providing “up to 100% gray coverage.” (PSA: That sounds awesome, but statistical math says coverage of a meager 5% would technically fall into this claim, too.) The packaging is attractive, minimal, and boasts being 100% recyclable. It arrived a little smooshed, though. It contains the expected color, developer, and then some gloves attached to the back of instructions. The creative glove packaging is cool, but doesn’t override the concerns on color predictability and post-rinse conditioner effectiveness in my opinion.

detailedReviews 7: content: I tried Schwarzkopf Simply Color Hair Dye in Light Blonde to lighten my already bleached hair, as my previous attempt had not lightened my hair as much as I wanted. My hair was a dark strawberry blonde prior to using this product. I had high hopes as I've used Schwarzkopf products and hair color in thee past and had always loved the outcome. Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. While I was pleased with the amount of hair color provided, more than a sufficient amount to do all my hair and the end result wasn't a total disaster, overall I didn't care for this dye. It didn't lighten my hair as much as I would've hoped, especially considering I was already blonde. I was a little taken aback when the dye turned a dijon mustard yellow then gray, but my biggest disappointment though was how dry and damaged my hair felt afterwards. I've been coloring my hair for over 30 yrs and have down right fried my hair off in the past but with the right product it would still feel soft afterwards. After using this product and enclosed conditioner, my hair still felt very dry while still in the shower and I ultimately end up having to use my own deep conditioner. After drying and adding oil to my hair, the damage was still visible. As much as I love other Schwarzkopf products and dyes, I wouldn't reccomend this one unless you're only looking to change your hair a couple shades AND your hair is extremely healthy. This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

title: Did not lighten, left hair dry and damaged
detailedReviews 8: content: I was excited for a new look, because I really needed it. I opted in for the dark blonde hair dye, since my hair is already dark dirty blonde with strawberry tint and hasn’t been dyed or had any chemicals, treatment or heat to it in over a year. My hair is very then and dry and overall flat and boring and I e recently gotten white and grey hairs in my part and desperately wanted to cover them. Upon first using the dye, it wasn’t over powering in scent or fumes which is great as I have asthma. The color was easy to apply, there was plenty of dye in the bottle for my shoulder length hair luckily. I left it on for 30 minutes as directed and then rinsed. I was impressed with how easily it rinsed as some colors take forever for the water to run clear. I applied the conditioner it came with, which smelled okay, scent was faint and didn’t last after rinsing unfortunately. I immediately noticed after towel drying my hair the orange brassy effect and was let down. The color was more of a light cocoa brown with orange tint. I crossed my fingers and thought I’m sure after a wash or two it will fade and tone down some. I also went to looking on Amazon for shampoos to get rid of the brassy color. My hair also felt dry and stringy like conditioner was never applied. Day 2 I rinsed hair well with just water and applied the conditioner it came with again, hair still felt dry and stringy so I don’t think the conditioner works well my hair. The color wasn’t as bright orange and brassy but it was still there. Day three I shampooed and used the remaining conditioner and then applied my usual deep conditioning conditioner and left it on for a bit which helped with the dryness. After a week of coloring, I have white hairs showing badly again. I wouldn’t recommend this particular product for covering greys or white hair or for people with thin, dry brittle hair. Also if you plan on using this be prepared with some purple shampoo for the brassy effect it leaves behind.

detailedReviews 9: content: I appreciate that this is a natural, eco-friendly take on hair color. It is ammonia, silicone and alcohol free therefore not harsh on ones hair. I received 8.0 Medium Blonde color. It came with the usual hair color kit consisting of application bottle with developer lotion, color creme, pair of gloves, post color conditioner and instruction sheet. I decided to test it on two small chunks of my hair not wanting to risk ruining my color completely. If you are going more than one shade lighter, this will do absolutely nothing other than occupy 30 min of ones time. Lighter parts of my hair turned darker with a tinge of orange. This should have been a clue when I noticed the creme was pinkish instead of blueish that is more fit for cool, neutral and lighter shades. I then noticed on the box in small letters it stated “for non gray hair color results will be darker”. That is an excellent way to ruin hair color especially if you are doing a root touch up on light hair and verbiage should be more prominently displayed on the box or marketed toward that specific demographic or people prone to early grays. I am glad I only chose to color small portions for testing purposes because this certainly isn’t the brand of color for me. I am thankful that it did not seem to damage my hair after at least. #gorgeousonyou #simplycolor #simplycoloratwalmart

detailedReviews 10: content: Do not try the “light blonde” color if you have light hair already and want to keep it light! This should not be labeled light blonde. It should be labeled dark blonde at the very least. I already had pretty light hair, but I used this in the front around my face, thinking to lighten that section up a bit BUT it made it darker. It ended up looking like a dish-watery color. The rest of my hair is tied behind my head in the photo so you can’t see how light it was originally, but I also included a photo before going out taken about 2 weeks ago and you can see my hair was much lighter and I was much happier before I tried this light blonde die, which darkened my hair. It would probably work better to lighten the hair for people with darker hair, but I would not recommend for anyone with lighter hair trying to keep it light. It is supposed to be healthier for the hair, and I’m sure anything that is really lightening is bad for the hair which is probably why this is SO dark for “light blonde.” But considering I am now going to have to dye my hair again to get it to be actually light blonde and not a dishwater color, I think it ended up being worse for my hair. It was easy to apply and I really did like the way you didn't have to cut the top off the applicator bottle, it just screwed off.

detailedReviews 11: content: I received this product from an Influenster campaign in exchange for my honest review. The packaging says Simply Color and 0% Ammonia, Silicone, and Alcohol and the color sent to me was 8.0 Medium Blonde (close to my normal color) so I figured what do I have to lose? The instructions were easy to follow and smell was not so bad. After 30 minutes of letting it sit, and then rinsing, the first thing I noticed was how extremely dry my hair was. I thought, this is odd, it's supposed to be gentle. Hopefully, the conditioner will fix it. I put in the conditioner, let sit and rinsed. Again, my hair was SOOO dry. This is odd, I thought. I added some expensive conditioner to try to rehydrate while I did a blow out and took a look at the finished product. It's kind of yellowish green I worried. The results say the color is supposed to be even from root to tip. Umm, this doesn't look even. Then I look at the ingredients: the second one is Hydrogen Peroxide in the Developer lotion then it lists Sodium Laureth Sulfate (BANNED IN EUROPE!!) and Sodium Hydroxide. WHAT. HAVE. I. DONE??! After curling it and checking it out a bit longer, I suppose it's not too bad, but I wouldn't recommend. @Schwarzkopf #GorgeousOnYou #SimplyColor #SimplyColoratWalmart

I was excited about the box, I read all the instructions, twice, and since the color comparisons on the box weren’t all that different from before to after, I was pretty confident. Which means, I wasn’t at all prepared for my actually end result…and this orangey-blondish-brown color I have now. I’m really disappointed. And although it could be worse, this is not at all what I was expecting. The packaging is attractive and looked so promising! The application process was easy, and it washed out relatively quickly. It did leave a somewhat slimy feel, even after the conditioner, and a shower. But when I dried and straightened it, it didn’t feel unnatural or slimy. I only used the before picture so you can see exactly why I was so shocked at how I ended up here… 😅 I haven’t box dyed my hair in YEARS, and I don’t anticipate doing it again any time soon. detailedReviews 13: content: My hair is naturally a 7A ash blonde. I have a lot of cool, ashy tones in my hair, which seems like a nice way of saying my hair is greyish. I have a lot of hair so I dyed my ends with the product, because I wouldn't be able to get a whole head application with just one bottle. It is absolutely a brown color, I followed the directions and after seeing how absolutely dark my hair was getting, I washed it off before the 45 minute processing time. I was going for a subtle balyage because I couldn't get my whole head and I didn't want yet another stark transition in hair colors. The color is dark and I hope it fades with time. I have no issues with having dark hair it just wasn't what I expected. I'm not upset at it, I just wish it was lighter like the box picture indicates. There's no brassiness that I can detect, but I dyed my hair two days ago so time will tell on that. It smells okay, the application is easy, I actually like the squeeze bottle a lot. It's not super stiff plastic, but it isn't flimsy either-good to use for something like this. The dye itself is good quality. The gloves are exactly what you expect with box dye. I just wish the color lined up!

detailedReviews 16: content: I received a free box of color to try and review. I generally use another brand. This was a bit darker than I normally use, and I have long hair so I also purchased a 2nd box to complete the process (about $10 and a drive to multiple stores to find it). Unfortunately, the only positive comment I can leave is about the color once completed. I've waited to post until I washed a few times and have a few cons to note. The smell of the product, especially when rinsing and the sealing conditioner. The formula mix felt thick and not moisturizing. I will say that the sample I received was thicker than the one I bought and did not go on as easy. Gray roots took 2 applications to completely darken. The 1st application looked light in comparison to the rest of the color. Washing my hair up to a week after is still showing color bleeding off into the water. It's also looking like some areas may be trying to revert to my previous color. I feel as though this product would be good for someone that has not colored their hair previously or has a similar color to the one they're using. As it fades I will probably have to have my hair person add more brown to my hair. My problem though is that as soon as I finished putting it on I felt a little sick. I react this way to amonio so not sure why an amonia free one would do that. I stuck it out and after rinsing I washed my hair and used my own deep conditioner. My curly hair is just frizzy but it will be okay I think as I use my good shampoos on it. I will never use this again though because of how it made me feel physically. detailedReviews 18: content: I received this products for free from Influenster and Schwarzkopf in exchange for my honest review! This is the new Schwarzkopf Simply Color hair color in Dark Blonde, it’s ammonia free! Which is so important to me right now, being pregnant. The first photo is my “before,” the day of coloring. You can see my hair started pretty light with just a little darkness at the roots. The second and third photos are “after,” the day after coloring. I was a little afraid after seeing some of the other before and after photos of the Dark Blonde that it would make my hair brown like it did for many other people. It didn’t make it brown necessarily, but it did immensely darken my roots! By a lot! That was unexpected, and definitely not user error as i sectioned my hair and really focused on the ends and mid-lengths for the majority of the time, specifically avoiding my roots until only a few minutes of processing time left. I specifically didn’t want my roots to be darker than the rest, so I focused on the rest. It did have a little bit of brassiness to it after I noticed as well, and I’ve even done a purple treatment mask and that still hasn’t totally lifted yet. Overall I’m not really impressed with the color and if I’m going to dye my hair at home I have other favorite box dyes I’ll purchase. The smell was definitely still potent, but not suffocating or ammonia-y, which was great. I love the idea, and I love the formula and ingredients, but the actual results definitely leave much to be desired. #gorgeousonyou #simplycolor #simplycoloratwalmart

However, I give this product 3 stars because of the color. I don’t know if it’s just me but I didn’t expect it to be so dark and I’m a bit upset. I expected a lighter sort of medium brown with a red tint. Yet this left my hair dark brown, almost black. It only looks good in the sun, I’ll give ya that. For context, my hair was medium brown (with a orange kind of blonde tint) before I dyed it with this. I would reccomend this product if you want something darker for sure.

detailedReviews 20: content: I wanted to like this product, and a part of me did. I used it as a root touch up, and then ran it through the rest of my hair for a few minutes in the shower. There were two major issues that will keep me from recommending it: 1) The Light Blonde color that I tested came out as more of a dark blonde. I have been doing some at-home color since the pandemic, and this is the only product that I have tried, in a light blonde shade, that did not give me light blonde results. 2) It did not lift my roots. With any other at-home product, 30 minutes has done the trick in lightening my roots. While the directions say the product can be left on for UP to 45 minutes, I was hesitant to do so, since I have never had a product take that long to develop. I opted for 35 minutes, and after a blow-out, my roots pretty much looked the same as before I had colored them. It’s possible that leaving the product on for another 5-10 minutes would have helped slightly, but it’s two weeks since I have colored, and I already plan on a root touch up tomorrow. One other con for me was the consistency of the product. It was a bit too loose/liquid for my liking. The other at-home color kits I have used had more of a thick/creamy consistency. Now with all that being said, I actually liked the way my hair felt after using this product. It was soft and didn’t feel dried out. It also had a nice shine to it. This product, overall, did not meet my expectations.

detailedReviews 21: content: I have wanted to try the Schwarzkopf Simply Color dye before and have been close, but ultimately went with something else. I will say the coverage is good, better than some others I’ve used. The smell however, is not so pleasant. I found that the hair dye itself smelled a bit fishy and the conditioner wasn’t that pleasant either. When I dye my hair I expect the conditioner to at least leave my hair smelling amazing, this did not do that! Also, when it came time to rinse the lengths of my hair were extremely stiff and my hair was very knotty during the rinse process. I received the Truffle Brown shade and on the box it shows a somewhat ashy dark brown color -my hair does not look like any of the shades on the box. My hair is darker than I would like -which is fine, I’ll live with that- but there is a lot of red in it- which I do not like! Hair dye with red undertones takes forever to fade and change, so this color is going to be around for a while. Would I buy this product? Probably not the smell and the color don’t have me wanting to run out and start a stock pile. The only thing I did like was the coverage, but with new hair growth and fading, I won’t know how good coverage really is for a couple weeks.

The color looked amazing on the box, but the result was uneven (had to reapply to get even coverage), and the pigment did not come out as vibrant as I thought for a 20 vol developer box dye. (Went from 4.5 dark brown to 6.68 hazelnut brown) Also, the cream conditioner that came with it was not as nourishing and moisturizing as it claimed. I ended up using my OlaPlex n3 conditioner to repair and smooth out the hair. Won’t be using this again, but I can see it would work well for someone with a lighter tone wanting to go a shade or 2 darker. Unfortunately, for me, I think I need bleach in order to get the best results.

detailedReviews 23: content: This is my first time trying this brand of hair dye, but I have used a number of different hair dyes in the past. This product is basically two bottles that you mix together to create the dye. You also get a conditioner, gloves, and instructions. The process is fairly easy, and the instructions are pretty straightforward. Like all DYI haircolor, it's a bit messy and smells a little off (although this dye did have a smell, it's not nearly as bad as some others). The thing I didn't like was the color. The color was way too dark. It was supposed to be medium brown (my hair is naturally a light brown). However it turned a very, very dark brown, almost black. And the color doesn't look particularly natural. I am hoping the color will look a bit better after one or two shampoos. The thing I did like was that the outer packaging was all cardboard, so you could recycle it. That was less wasteful, although the bottles and gloves are still plastic. Overall a pretty standard at-home hair dye. I don't know if the color problem was with the product or that particular color. I'd be willing to try this line again, but in a different shade.

detailedReviews 24: content: I have used Schwarzkopf hair dye before and have been extremely happy. I decided to try the Simply Color this time around. I bought the Intense Expresso which is a dark brown. It turned my hair black. My hair was medium brown to begin with and according to pictures on package it should have gone a shade or two darker. It is as if I dyed it black. I will not be using this particular one again. On the bright side it did cover all my grays.

detailedReviews 25: content: I'm decently satisfied with this hair color. My color of choice (jet black) came out true to its advertised color. The developer is thin so when you mix it with the cream color you get a nice cream/liquid mixture for application. It's also not too thick so application is easy to control and move through the hair. It comes with conditioner in a resealable tube which is preferred over single use packets. My only complaints about the kit is that my ends were a bit dry afterwards and the conditioner didn't soften my hair enough for my taste, so I ended up using another conditioner on top of it. My scalp tingled a bit at first but it wasn't a large amount. The smell wasn't as strong as other dyes I've used in the past. Also, I didn't find that the color bleeds when washing the hair down the line. Overall I'd say it's an average box dye because it did dry my hair more than expected, but since I didn't notice it bleeding past the intial rinsing, it's a little above average if color bleeding is a concern.

detailedReviews 26: content: I received this product free from Influencer and Schwarzkopf for my honest review. The hair color itself was nice, but it is certainly not my choice when it comes to hair dye. I did love that it came in recycled packaging. The size of the conditioner included is pretty generous when compared to the foil packets that most other companies give with the dye. The application process was a bit difficult for me as I couldn’t use my thumbs. The gloves simply aren’t suited for the hands of larger women. On the bright side, any area that was stained by dye simply washed off when rinsing it out. I was disappointed by how dry and damaged my hair feels after using this. I know that there will always be some damage when using hair dye, but there is more with Simply Color than with Madison Reed. It also burned slightly when it was developing on my scalp. If you need gray coverage, this is not the best product to use.

detailedReviews 27: content: My hair has always been my best accessory. Even when I’m not feeling my outfit is on point, I always get compliments on my long, shiny, full, wavy hair. Well, not anymore… I came across this product when I was looking for hair color that has less harsh chemicals than usual. I used two boxes for full coverage. When I was rinsing out the color, an alarming amount of my hair continued to fall out. This hair loss has continued anytime I run my fingers through my hair, brush my hair, wash my hair… basically touch it at all. I’m heartbroken at how my once-lustrous hair is now thin, limp, and no longer my favorite part of my look. The color was pretty, but ultimately not worth it. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

detailedReviews 28: content: Long review here! I was so excited to try this hair color (shade 5.0) as I have dyed my hair at home for years using L'Other brands of hair color. My natural hair color is a dark brown (level 3-4) and I like to lighten and brighten my hair just to a level 5. First, I love the fully recyclable packaging even though it's not super sturdy - totally fine to sit in my bathroom. The instructions for this were typical except the developer that comes in the squeeze bottle was VERY thin, while there is a color tube that you mix into the bottle which has a thicker consistency. Once mixed, the color thickened nicely and didn't drip much. A big complaint is that the color tube was VERY hard for me to get out by squeezing; it's one of those stiff metal tubes and my hands were really suffering as I tried to make sure I squeezed it all out in order to get the intended mix. The scent of the color was slightly floral but otherwise not too offensive. I followed the directions and applied the color to my roots first, which I usually don't like doing because I get "hot roots" that turn orange. I was SO pleased that this color did not do that! The color came out even, truly neutral without any orange, and slightly darker than other "medium brown" shades I've used. (It behaves like a semi permanent color and doesn't seem to lift at all.) It covered my few grays and came off my skin decently but not completely after rinsing. It was kind of difficult to wash out due to the thickness and it did stain my towel that I used to dry my hair, which doesn't usually happen with my regular dye. I spent a really long time rinsing it before and after using the conditioner. My hair feels like it could use a bit more conditioner, but it is shiny and looks great. All in all, the fact that my roots match the rest of my hair when dyeing them first is a HUGE pro to me, outweighing the staining and the extremely difficult color tube. I will likely repurchase, along with a toothpaste squeezer! (Pictured is my air-dried hair right after dyeing and my lighter, brassy "before" picture)

detailedReviews 29: content: I hadn't dyed my hair in soo long for fear of damaging the curl pattern of my permed hair. When I received this product, 9 months had passed since getting the perm. I figured it was now safe to apply this ammonia-free dye to the un-permed portion of my hair since my grays had become far too noticeable for my liking, I was excited to see that this dye provided 100% gray coverage. Then I saw the before/after pics posted by others who had used this Truffle Brown shade and their hair turned almost black brown. Which concerned me, so I thought I'd test it on someone else's hair first lol. An "all gray" male friend of mine whose hair was a black/brown shade prior to turning gray had volunteered to be my test subject. The process was simple and no pungent ammonia smell. Yay! As the color continued to process, I was shocked to see the dark brown paste appeared to have a purple tint, but wasn't overly concerned as I know this doesn't typically determine what the end result will be. Then it was time to rinse and as you can see in the photos...Truffle Brown applied to white/gray hair = pinkish purple. LOL He was mortified, I was cracking up since I kinda like purple hair I decided to go ahead and color the top half of my hair with the leftover dye. The end result...Truffle Brown applied to Natural Cool Brown w/ sporadic gray throughout = Deep Red Brown w/ sporadic gray throughout. It didn't appear to have any effect on my grays whatsoever. I will note that my hair did not feel fried or damaged by the dye. So, that is a plus. If you are specifically looking for gray coverage, I would recommend you look elsewhere but if you just want a change in color without all the usual damage, then this might be the perfect mystery color surprise for you. Final Thought: Stubborn Gray's Won

detailedReviews 30: content: I've now tried the Truffle and Hazelnut Browns. The box makes them look like totally different colors but you put them on and they're very rich reds with brown tones. If you look on the Schwarzkopf website the Truffle and Hazelnuts both look red. But then the examples on the boxes (both front and results) are totally different shades and appear to be mid browns. Needless to say, they're not.
The problem with red browns is they're only vibrant at first color, red fades so quickly and you're left with this washed out looking brassy shade, particularly on grays and by the time you find out these shades are wrong, it's too late because it's already on your hair!
My guess is I'd need to go with a cool brown or even dark blonde (yeah, scratch that - just saw another review on the website that shows dark blonde is red based too - what is going on with these colors!?) to get a natural mid brown but at this point I am a little scared to take a chance because these have been such a miss on colors both times and now the base I'm working with is a reddish dark brown.
They really need to fix the formulas or stop calling these browns and call them dark auburn and cherry brown and change the packaging images, at least for the Truffle and Hazelnut colors and maybe the rest too. It's such a pity because the formula and packaging is fantastic.

I did have to purchase a 2nd box due to the length of my hair being past my waist with arms down. The packaging is 100% recycle. The formula is gentle made with no ammonia, alcohol, or silicone. The MAIN reason I don't normally care for box hair dye kits is that I feel like I'm inhaling chemical fumes! This product didn't smell strong at all! I honestly didn't think it was possible. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is, I wasn't able to select from a very wide range of shades. Even when purchasing the 2nd box I didn't see a wide selection. That makes me think that maybe this gentler formula might only be available in certain shades which could be the ONLY downfall of the simply color launch. This line REALLY blew my mind! I would definitely purchase it again in the future! #GorgeousOnYou #SimplyColor #SimplyColoratWalmart #contest #complimentary @schwarzkopf @Influenster Thanks again to the Influenster team for introducing me to another BOMB product! detailedReviews 32: content: First thing I noticed about the hair color was the pleasant smell. There was no burning of my eyes like I would experience with normal hair color. For the length and thickness of my hair I did need to purchase two additional bottles before dying my hair. I could have honestly gotten away with only using two. Now for the results. I should have followed the instructions for dying over existing dyed hair as the color pulled extremely dark. I don’t dislike the color but would have preferred it to be more like the box and less like a dark chocolate cherry. The conditioner that comes with the kit was terrible. It is a very thin conditioner and does not really help after rinsing the product which takes forever. For the past week when wetting my hair I have noticed the color bleeding but not when washing or anywhere else just when initially getting into the shower and wetting my hair. I would definitely use this product again I would just follow the directions more closely next time as it applies to any color treated hair and not just with their product.

detailedReviews 33: content: I received these products for free from Influenster and Schwarzkopf in exchange for my honest review. This was a very easy hair color to use, came with everything needed including gloves and hair conditioner. Directions were easy to follow. The color turned out darker than I expected - box says this should be Dark Blonde. I’m not unhappy as I like the change, but was surprised to see the darker color after it fully dried. I’m assuming it was an error on my part by my ends turned out darker than up by the roots - not noticeable unless you move the hair close to each other. There was no horrible smell with this hair color, which my family liked! There do seem to be some red undertones with it, or else it just made the slight red that I can sometimes see in my hair come out more. It was very easy to wash any that got into the skin off - I used soap and water in the shower for some, and seabreeze in another area. I would recommend this hair color, but be careful of what color you choose or else leave it on for a shorter amount of time than they say to - I’m not sure which! #GorgeousOnYou #SimplyColor #SimplyColoratWalmart #contest #complimentary @schwarzkopf @influenster

detailedReviews 34: content: So I wasn’t sure what to expect with this boxed hair color. It was very comparable to most other brands except the bottles seemed to be bigger than other breads which is a good thing because I have extremely long hair. It came with the usual, color, developer and then a conditioner to use after you rinse the color out of your hair. I noticed upon putting the color onto my hair that the odor wasn’t as strong as what I am used to which is AMAZING!! I hate the smell of chemicals and am known to have to take frequent breaks because the chemical smells can sometimes throw me into coughing fits, it’s a fun time LOL, this brand however, did NOT do that and I couldn’t be more pleased! Right off the bat I was 10/10 impressed with that, I let it process for 30 minutes and I rinsed it out, it rinsed out relatively easy and I also went ahead and used the conditioner provided, it wasn’t terrible, the fragrance was light which is good. I recommend this product to everyone, seriously, the less chemical smell is the selling point for me, I’m sticking with Simply Color for that reason specifically and the color itself was also great! Love this product!

detailedReviews 35: content: First off, I loved the packaging! Love that it’s recyclable acts as a little trash can to throw away everything as you finish up.. super thoughtful the little note to write your color on the lid too. Application was fine, easy to do, no complaints there happy to learn it is easily cleaned off skin or countertops. Applied on dry, bleached/toned, unwashed, wavy hair on the bangs the rest of the hair was left as is. The color wasn’t my favorite as it was more red leaning than I expected unfortunately did not cover my grey hairs. The real star of the show was the conditioner to use after washing out color. It is amazing!!! My curls are poppin’ my hair looks so healthy, usually going darker hair looks healthy but my whole head feels looks really, really nice! If they bottle that conditioner I would buy it no question, the product overall I would recommend to someone wanting easy all over color if they don’t have any greys because my hair didn’t feel gross or dry after washing out. Felt great afterwards!

Yesterday I was desperate for some root coverage. I couldn’t get to my mom for an appointment. Grabbed this brand in 3.0 N and applied it. I was completely shocked. For one-no strong smell. No burning, no weird sensations. Washed the color out after about 40 minutes (I did roots and then pulled through) and even without the mask they give you to use after-my hair was not fried. I am highly impressed with the pigment. I do recommend this. I will buy again. What attracted me to this brand was on the box it explains no Ammonia, silicone and alcohol free. All contributing factors to dry scalp, dried hair and even hair loss.

detailedReviews 37: content: The people complaining about it being too dark, not covering greys, or not giving them the color on the box have no idea how hair color is used. You can’t use this to achieve the color on the box, because you’re applying a hair dye over your existing hair color. The result will be darker than the hair you’re applying it on, no matter what, because you’re applying pigment. You need bleach to lighten your hair. Period. And you can’t really use this to cover grey, as it is ammonia free. It won’t penetrate to hair shaft enough to deposit as much color as you need to color grey hair. Grey hair has to be filled first because it is completely missing all pigment, so the result with any one-dimensional dye, especially an ammonia free one, will be mostly just undertones. Go to a hair salon if you don’t know what you’re doing. This product is for people who want to go a couple shades darker than their natural hair. And it’s just as good as all other products that do that. It’s comparable to overtone.

detailedReviews 38: content: I was so excited to try this brand, I have heard amazing things about it!! My grey hairs are VERY VERY hard to cover and my Sister swore by this brand. Her statement had me running home to use my hair color. I really liked how easy it was to apply, I normally will need 2 boxes of color for my hair and my one box got the job done magically. I loved how there is no alcohol, silicone, or ammonia in it, in turn it made dying my have easier as I was not fighting through watery eyes and a runny nose from the harsh chemicals. I love how the color turned out, it is called Dark Chocolate(3.65), it is a beautiful color!! Unfortunately for me, it did cover 99.99% of my grey hairs but there are still some that the color didn't take to. It's my hair, my grey hairs are impossible to cover completely. All in all it did live up to the hype I heard about it! The process was easy and tear free, the color is absolutely stunning, and the best part... my hair feels amazing afterwards, not straw like or plasticity. detailedReviews 39: content: I received the new Simply Color by Schwarzkopf in 5.0(medium brown). Being a cosmetologist I’ve tried many different hair colors, from store based products to top of the line products that are limited to stylists. I will say this was a little darker than I usually go(usually I go with a warmer brown/slightly lighter shade). This color still looks good on my skin tone. This is supposed to be more nourishing for your hair. It’s free from silicones, alcohol, and ammonia. My hair is soft and shiny. The conditioner that comes with it could be better. It wasn’t as moisturizing as others I’ve used. The color didn’t have an overwhelming smell, which was nice since scents can cause me migraines. Application went fine, same as most colors. One thing that could improve this is adding an attachment with a comb to make it easier to work through hair. Overall this is a good color line. I have very long hair, and only received one box to test. I made it work, but if you have longer hair definitely get two boxes.

detailedReviews 48: content: I love this color so much! I went to my stylist and got a carmel tone put in, but wanted something a bit more so I decided to darken the tone just a tad with this color, and it TURNED OUT SO BEAUTIFUL! The dark chocolate not only added depth, but in the sun it gives off a pretty "redish" tone and it's just made me feel so much better about my hair! (esteem wise) I'm naturally curly so having darker color enhances my natural tecture in a way i can't explain but it just looks better overall than my natural "dirty water" blonde. All in all, I'm extremely pleased with this product and I will continue to buy it as long as it's made and NOT DISCONTINUED, thank you that'd be great Schwarzkopf! detailedReviews 50: content: The color I am reviewing is dark blonde. Fair warning: this is not what we have been conditioned to think of as “dark blonde” and it comes out more of a golden/ashy light brown- but if that is what you are looking for it’s awesome. I went my whole life thinking my hair was medium brown until a stylist whipped out her hair swatches and told me that technically my hair falls right between dark ash blonde and light ash brown. So when I found out I was receiving this particular color I was excited and hopeful as I have been rocking dreadful dark roots along with really blonde highlights that are like, 14 months old AND brassiness from an attempt to highlight my roots myself last summer. Basically my hair was a multi-colored mess 😬 I don’t see the point in wasting time and money on salon visits at this point in my life when I’m not socializing much, so going back to my natural color and evening everything out was the goal here. I was pleasantly surprised at how happy I was with the outcome! A couple positives worth noting: there truly was no smell, I mean none (and no, I’m not sick!), and those drips I somehow ALWAYS manage to get on the sink and wall somehow when self-coloring cleaned off soooo easily leaving behind ZERO stains even though I discovered them 45 minutes after the fact! Another awesome point: the entire box is recyclable and or biodegradable. Wooot! All other brands should take note! Last but not least, after rinsing and conditioning I was SO pleased to have as close to my natural color as possible from a box. Next to zero brass which is always a HUGE problem for me, and my roots, mid, and ends are all finally the same color. Very, very minor variations from my old highlights still show through but they are hardly noticeable and actually look good. The application process was straightforward and easy. I kept it on about 35 minutes total. Zero irritation or itchiness in my scalp! I genuinely think I will buy this again as more grays start popping up! :)

I was really on the fence about trying the color since it is darker than my hair has been in a long while but it turned out a really nice shade and I like it! I have really thick long hair that normally takes 2 1/2 - 3 boxes of color to fully cover so I purchased 2 additional boxes of this hair color .. In the end I only needed 2 boxes of this to fully cover all of my hair. The color came out very even the grays are all gone and there aren’t any missed or partially covered spots . The smell isn’t real bad just a strong floral scent while it’s processing that didn’t make my eyes/nose watery or itchy like other brands have in the past! The product didn’t burn my skin at all the whole process was actually pretty pleasant! Once I had my hair covered with the color and clipped it all on the top of my head I had color all over my ears , forehead, neck, arm and bathtub all I could think was “oh no” lol If you find yourself in this position don’t freak out just get a wet washcloth and wipe/slightly scrub it off! It was really that easy and the only thing that ended up colored was my hair! Rinsing the product out was easy it only took a minute or two to run clear the conditioner was ok but when I rinsed it out my hair felt a little dry so I used my regular conditioner too and when it was finally dry it looked and felt really nice and wasn’t dry or brittle at all ! I completed the whole process from start to finish including cleaning up my mess and brushing my hair after in just under an hour while my husband and adult daughter ran to the store ... it took them 2 weeks to figure out what was “different” !! I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a cost efficient way to keep their hair color looking awesome!

detailedReviews 52: content: I received a sample of the Schwarzkopf hair color through Influenster. I was a little skeptical at first on how well the color would stick to my hair because of how much healthier this option actually is for your hair. I am so happy to say that I ended up really loving the product. I first applied the pre-color serum to my ends of my hair like the directions stated. After that I applied the entire contents of the bottle to my roots, for roughly 15 minutes. I realized fairly quickly that I was going to need a second box because of how long and thick my hair is. Luckily we live close to Target, so I sent my husband to grab me another box and then applied the second bottle of color to my hair. I saturated my hair well and made sure to really work it through from roots to ends. I let the color stay on for an additional 15 minutes after working it thoroughly through my hair. I rinsed my hair out and absolutely loved the conditioner that comes in the kit. Not only did it smell amazing but it made my hair feel like silk. I towel dried my hair, sprayed in my heat protectant and followed that up with my round brush and Dyson Supersonic blow dryer. The end result was color so vibrant and my hair was so shiny. This is the first hair color that I have used, that has actually left my hair looking and feeling healthy. I will absolutely continue using this to color my hair and have heard of a few other amazing experiences from friends who have tried this as well. Thank you Influenster and Schwarzkopf for the opportunity to try this product because I now I have found my new favorite hair color.

detailedReviews 53: content: I received this complimentary product from @schwarzkopf and @influenster for my honest review, so here it is: I religiously use Madison Reed hair coloring but was happy to try something different. This box is 100% recyclable which I though was great (but then again aren’t most boxes?) The contents inside was very simple with only what you need. The gloves are included but they are non- form fitting and not as easy to use as other gloves like those in Madison Reed or John Frieda. The product is free of harmful chemicals which is always appreciated. Application was easy but I wasn’t happy with them smell during or after application. I also experienced significant itching while it processed. I had no adverse reaction though. The color was great for me and my hair came out feeling silky. The price point is about $10 for this permanent hair color which is cheap. I usually use Madison Reed which ranges around $28. The difference lies not in the final outcome but rather the packaging and product itself. ColorSimply gives you only what you need (coloring, gloves, and conditioner) where Madison Reed gives me better gloves, a hair net, one time use shampoo and conditioner for after coloring and face cream to keep the product from staining my skin. In the end the final outcome was just as nice for my hair but if you’re looking for a higher end experience you’ll have to look somewhere else. I think the quality is well received and that’s enough for me to consider using it again in the future or suggesting it to friends. #influenstervoxbox #GorgeousOnYou #SimplyColor #SimplyColoratWalmart #contest #complimentary @schwarzkopf @Influenster

title: Good color outcome, silky hair, affordable price
detailedReviews 54: content: Just because I’m pushing 40 doesn’t mean I have to *look* like it. I was sent a Simply Color by Schwarzkopf via Influenster to try out and give my honest opinion. Truthfully, I’m very thankful for the opportunity! I really enjoyed the color selection. I like my dark hair, but it’s always had a mousey, ash tone to it. The color that I selected (5.65, Truffle Brown) was a rich brunette with a slight red tone. It covered very well (no spotting and only one or two stubborn grays that somehow didn’t take) and I am thrilled with my after color! For home hair color, let’s be honest; most of us rinse in the shower. When using darker or red dyes, this can be a nightmare! 😱 I am happy to report that the color rinses clear very quickly - I wasn’t standing under the shower head waiting for my next birthday (which is in November) and during the damp color massage portion, I found no random color splats in my shower afterward. I do have two cons to this product: while I adore the sustainable packaging, I have SERIOUS DISDAIN FOR LUNCH LADY GLOVES! Y’all know this - they ALWAYS tear between the thumb and index finger leading to stained hands in that one spot. Because of this issue, I was super careful to not overextend my hand (which one may be prone to do when coloring one’s hair) and am happy to report that I did not tear the lunch lady gloves. The other issue (and this may just be my individual product) is when I was squeezing the dye into the bottle of developer, the sealed end of the dye decided to come unsealed and squirted dye all over my hand and my counter (at least it was not activated by the developer yet). Overall, very pleasantly pleased! 8/10 ⭐️ and do recommend to others as a home hair color kit. (Just not sure how good the lift will be if I ever decide to bleach my hair for fashion colors and do recommend you buy your own gloves!)

detailedReviews 55: content: I chose the shade of 9.0 light blonde. I am about 40-50% grey, however my “gray” is snowy white in color. My natural shade is a dark blonde. I have a large patch of white right in the front that starts right at my hairline on the left side, so those roots are particularly noticeable when I get regrowth. The box comes with gloves, the applicator bottle with developer, a metal tube of Color Creme, a tube of nourishing conditioner and instructions. I decided to do the full head application since I was going from a 8.5 to a 9.0 in color. The instructions said to pierce the Color Creme tube with the reverse side of the cap. After that you are supposed to squeeze the Color Creme product from the tube into the developer/applicator bottle. I found the Creme a bit difficult to squeeze out of the Metal tube, however after I got all of the contents into the applicator bottle the color was extremely easy to shake and mix. The instructions said to apply all the product strand by strand and then to take my gloves hands and work the mixture in with my fingertips. These instructions to massage are a bit different than most other at home hair colors I’ve tried. They typically have said not to massage the color once it’s on your head. But I massaged the color into my hair making sure I had the color mixture applied everywhere. I had no issues at all with sensitivity even after massaging into my hair and roots. The instructions said to leave on for 30 minutes. I didn’t see any special instructions for gray hair which are usually present as it usually tells you to leave the color on longer for grays since they are more color resistant. In the instructions for Regrowth Application it does say that you can leave the product in for 30-45 minutes depending on the intensity of color you desire, so I left the product on for 45 minutes, instead of 30 to insure my white patch roots were colored properly. I then rinsed our the color and applied the included conditioner. The consistency of the conditioner was much thinner than the usual conditioner that is provided in color kits. The scent was pleasant not too strong, but a clean smell, The instructions on the conditioner tube say to apply the conditioner to towel dried hair and leave on for 2 minutes and then rinse. I didn’t read that until after it was on my head, but I can’t see myself getting out of the shower and towel drying my hair to apply conditioner for 2 minutes and then hopping back in the shower to rinse, so not sure I would follow those application instructions anyway. I don’t feel like the included conditioner did much for detangling my hair or making it feel smooth. My hair was tangled after using. After I blowed-dried, I would say it did a pretty good job of covering my white spots and coloring my roots- not 100% gray coverage but maybe 90%z if they added a comb top applicator that would really help me with application eveness. detailedReviews 56: content: Smelled wonderful compared to other dyes, gentler, and easier to saturate the hair. Only problem is I purchased the level 6 which should be a medium to light brown. For reference 1 is black 10 is blonde. And well… my hair looks black. I was absolutely flabbergasted! I expected it to be a bit darker than expected because of my preexisting color that needed a refresh but golly it’s dark! Thankfully I don’t mind the color but I barely left it on for 20 minutes after applying! So keep this in mind when picking a shade! If you have preexisting color, always go lighter with this brand!

detailedReviews 57: content: I LOVE this box dye. Ive used everything from off the shelf at Target to Madison Reed and other custom order dyes online. This is my favorite. It didn’t smell bad, it covered my grey, it’s long-lasting, and my hair turns out really shiny and silky. Other dyes often leave hair feeling damaged and frizzy and in need of babying, but not this dye. I purchased intense espresso and it turned out a very, very dark brown. It’s not quite black, as I find black a touch harsh, but very close. I really love it. It’s also easy to use and it’s a nice cream that doesn’t easily splash around or make a mess.

title: Favorite box dye, covered grey, long-lasting, shiny
detailedReviews 58: content: So I was gifted a box of hair dye from @influenster and @schwarzkopf in the color 4.0 intense espresso. The packaging is cute and I like that they inform you on the packaging that it is recyclable. The lid on the box is a styrofoam like lid which is taped down and a pain in the butt to open, for me it was anyway. It came with your standard conditioner, developer in the application bottle, cream hair color in a tube and instructions with gloves attached. The gloves were a pain to try and get off the paper instructions. It’s been some time since I have dyed my hair, but the plus on the application bottle is that the cap is a screw cap instead of a tab that you have to twist off like other hair dye companies use. When wearing gloves and trying to get the cap off it made it so much easier and after unscrewing the cap I didn’t get the dreaded dye splatter that I usually get when I take the tab off of other bottles. The color pay off is definitely nice. The dye still had a smell to it, but I didn’t find it overwhelming or super strong. It did tingle and itch my head slightly, but in my experience most if not all dyes to do that me, but it wasn’t intense. I did dock one star from my review, because I think the gloves that come with the dye does need improvement. I found them difficult to get off the paper instructions, one glove was tighter then the other and after I was finished dying my hair and took the gloves off in between my thumb and pointer finger on both hands dye had gotten on my skin. Other then that I would definitely purchase this myself. For $10 it definitely hits all the high points for me for now. I did just dye my hair like an hour ago so I will have to see how well this stays in my hair after several washes and use of product in it, but for now it gets a thumbs up.

detailedReviews 59: content: I received Truffle Brown which is a pretty warm brunette shade that matched the results I was looking to achieve. Not far off at all from my hair, which is a dark brunette shade naturally with some emerging grays at the root. My hair is long, mid back, somewhat frizzy, wavy and thicker than average. Anything to cause dryness would be extra rough for me, would be very obvious especially because I have, in recent years, struggled a LOT with damaged, dry, brittle hair that is prone to breakage. So if you can picture my hair with those factors in mind lol you can prob guess that my hair texture and health is less than ideal. This is primarily due to an autoimmune disorder. I try to be very careful not to use products containing ingredients that exacerbate dryness. With that being said, the lack of silicones, alcohol and ammonia in Simply Color really set this dye apart from other brands available and this is a priority for me! So about the dye itself during the process: very good experience and I ran into no issues thanks to the formula being non messy. No dripping at all! I can be clumsy... so I was relieved to not have to clean up after any accidents or spills or anything. The results were much better than I was anticipating! To be honest... I wasn’t sure if optimal results were achievable without ammonia etc. I found the product claims to be truthful in that there’s no compromise in color results when the natural approach is taken! I wasn’t sure if the claims were realistic... but was really really happy with my results. Using this restored my faith in natural ingredients in beauty products. The color was very vibrant, and accurate. My greys were completely covered, zero trace left behind. 😅 found a new favorite dye and commit to being a customer for life lol. I would LOVE to see a root touch up (both chemical and non chemical options aka hair powder or spray etc!) with the same concept. It’d be a staple of mine since I need to color every two weeks to keep the vibrancy I need. This would be ideal! Fingers crossed!

detailedReviews 60: content: I was super excited to try the brand of product it’s actually what I usually use in reference to name brand but I had never tried the Simply line, I usually go to for their bold colors something either deep red, violet or black/blue. And I like to switch it up in colors. So I was really excited at the start but when I went to the aisle and saw the different colors , I was bummed they had “plain” colors like blonde , light brown, black , dark brown, etc. No bold , vibrant , shiny colors but I loved the chance to try something new. I usually dye hair every 6 wks and I can’t normally afford /have time to professionally get it done so I usually do an all over color ..I usually go red/burgundy in spring/summer and a midnight blue/black on fall and winter . I stay away from blonde or light brown / caramel color. I also unfortunately use the hair to cover up a FEW little ”silver” hairs (I refuse to call them gray hairs at my age of 36) But I can say one of the things I noticed about this new hair color is it didn’t have a harsh smell at all which some other brands do. I almost forgot that I had it on! Sometimes my head can itch but this product had no smell and no harshness feel to my scalp. All the steps were same as others but did leave on for 30 min with no problem . No burning , itchy scalp, and the dye was lightweight. I used the whole bottle and I don’t feel that it weighed it down. After washing the dye out of hair, I was pleasantly surprised how dark it turned out..a lot of times my hair is so dark in color it will soak it up and may not be able to notice a change In it unless I was outside but I could tell a deep dark black right away. I must say this type wouldn’t be first choice but to touch up my silver , I will give it a try. But the hair dye was not too bad and the name brand level didn’t disappoint! I hope that in the future they get more of selection of colors but this product was a decent hair dye for myself . Very pleased and appreciative of being able to try this kind of product out. detailedReviews 61: content: First off, I love the recyclable packaging, even though flimsy; it was a great marketing idea. Next, I actually didn’t think I was going to be all that impressed but after using it. I would definitely consider Schwarzkopf in the future. My hair felt healthy, and it didn’t feel like I needed a 10 deep conditioner. The bottle of conditioner was awesome too. I used it once a week for 4 weeks and still have, i think, enough for one more shower. It very much has that stylist chemical smell, but really not bad for an at home product. Now, i didn’t use it all over my head, sorry not sorry, I don’t like to leave myself to chance and have all my hair fall out. But I did take a big chunk from my bottom line all the way around and I couldn’t believe how well it penetrated even my dark brown. Plus, it made the blonde highlights blend in a really leave a beautiful, natural tone. I definitely recommend Simply Color. I love the ingredients, it was extremely simple to do myself, plus it came with everything you needed with very durable, nice gloves, which is a big plus in my book, i had the thin, plastic crap you usually get. Overall , I’m really happy with my experience and love the depth of color it provided and it’s still vibrant and healthy. Maybe that’s because the conditioner helps it and it may fade with other conditioners; but not for me 4 weeks after. Thank you Influenster for providing me with another excellent product to try for exchange for my honest review! title: Healthy hair, conditioner awesome, natural tone blend
detailedReviews 62: content: i received this complimentary product from @influencer @schwarzkopf for my honest review. I received 1 box in dark blonde. My hair is long all the way pass my waist with my long hair I would need 2-3 boxes to cover all of my hair. With that being said I end up using the dye to dye my friend’s hair who had shoulder length hair. The box is eco friendly, it is free on ammonia, silicone alcohol. Just a note in order for your hair to dye any tint of color your hair must be within the 3 blonde shade range that they have shown on the box. If you have darker hair your hair won’t lighten. Inside the box you have an applicator that already comes with the developer inside also a tube of hair color creme. You also receive an instruction manual that tells step by step, a conditioner for when you wash your hair the plastic gloves are inside the paper manual. The overall process was easy to do, you mix the creme with the developer, give it a good shake then you will start putting the color in your hair. Directions says to leave it on for 30 minutes. My friends hair came out a dark blonde color, her base was light blonde with few gray hairs. The conditioner made her hair soft. It’s been two weeks her hair hasn’t faded yet. She does use color safe shampoo conditioner though. Overall I felt the box dye is easy to use, the instructions were clear. I took off one star since I was not able to try it on myself. I also felt like the gloves could’ve been more fitted it was those loose gloves that easily slips. I also wonder if one day box dye companies would start making a box dye for those with long hair to give extra developer creme in the box so that those with long hair won’t have to buy 2-3 boxes just to cover their head. I would recommend this to those that want a quick way to dye their hair, good for covering gray hair to save money if you are not able to spend money to color your hair at the salon. If you have medium to long hair try getting 2-3 boxes only open one at a time to mix if you end up not using a box you can save it or return it. You don’t want to have to run to the store in the middle of dying your hair as you didn’t have enough dye to cover all of your hair :)

title: Easy to use, good for covering gray hair
detailedReviews 63: content: I just found out I was pregnant when I received my Influenster Vox Box to test Simply Color in Jet Black for free. So, I decided to wait until I was in my second trimester to do my hair. The best part about Simply Color is that it’s AMMONIA AND ALCOHOL FREE!! This is a huge deal for someone like me who has long, naturally curly hair. I’m very picky about permanent dyes because sometimes they can be harsh and leave my hair extra dry. This was NOT the case with Simply Color! First, I do have grays around my face and more towards the top of my crown so I did follow the instruction option for covering them. I put tape around the edges of my face near my hairline so I wouldn’t make a mess but just use rubbing alcohol to wipe any messes on skin and it comes right off. I covered my roots first for 5 minutes then added to the remainder of my hair for 20 minutes. The smell was not bad at all and absolutely no chemical smell. I did not feel any burning or tingling at all either. Usually, other dyes can start to make my scalp itch after the first 10 minutes but I had no problems there either with Simply Color. Second, after washing it out, I applied the conditioner for 5 minutes instead of 2 because of my curls. I was amazed at how soft my hair felt afterwards. My results are shiny curls and the color is a beautiful, rich black! I’m VERY AMAZED with the level of results I received from this at-home hair color option!! It’s a MUST for people with sensitive skin/scalps.

title: Ammonia and alcohol free, soft shiny curls
detailedReviews 64: content: I Used the intense expresso shade 4.0. To begin my hair was a dark warm brown on the ends from previous dye and my natural medium golden brown color at my roots-mid lengths. the hair color covered my hair pretty evenly which was surprising! the hair color doesn’t smell bad and was so easy to apply! The formula of it is easy to apply and not super messy! The only thing I didn’t particularly like was that the color tube was so tough to squeeze the color cream into the developer!! The packaging on the color tube was very stiff and just so hard to squeeze it all out of the tube into the developer I wasn’t able to get all the product out into the developer it was rough this is one thing I wish they’d change to make the packaging easier to squeeze the color out of . The actual applicator bottle is great though and so easy to use!!! My hair is below my shoulders and one box was JUST enough color to cover my entire hair and so if you have long hair 2 boxes may be better but you may be able to get away with just one. The hair color shade itself is BEAUTIFUL! It’s a super dark brown that appears ALMOST black—- but it’s not black! It’s a dark gorgeous rich shiny multi toned dark deep brown that changes tones depending on what lighting your in! It’s that perfect dark brown that’s nearly black you see on women and think wow what is that shade!! but it has the pretty brown/ warm tones in the sun and certain lighting that makes it so perfect! If you want that perfect rich shiny dark brown that’s almost black but isn’t this is the shade your looking for!! It’s so shiny and such a very natural -yet exotic looking beautiful unique shade!! It’s perfect :) if your on the fence just try it I promise !! I truly love the shade so much ! I also enjoy that the dye is free of ammonia alcohol ppd and ppe and I love that it has healthy ingredients in it! :)

detailedReviews 65: content: I recieved Simply Color by Schwartzkof for free for my honest opinion from Influenster and Schwartzkof. Only used one box of Shwartzkof Simply Color, Cool Brown 6.0 and my hair is at my shoulder height and thick with a mild wave. I noticed Argan oil, oatmilk in the mix which helped to make the hair dye smell good ,be smooth and did not burn my scalp because no ammonia was in the box of hair dye formula , or alcohol but I did notice hydrogen peroxide but all in all was a great experience. I didn’t have any itching after I washed out the dye. Thirty minutes of dye kit comes with gloves, dye, bottle mix and conditioner. The color of Cool brown was as expected and beautiful hair I have after using Simply Color hair dye, my usual shade is a dark brown but I haven’t dyed my hair in years and had some grays. I’m mid 30’s so I really don’t want to look like grandma yet. The box says covers 100 percent grays but I’d say about 98 percent because there still a little gray hairs left over but not enough to make me look old or notice. My hair is Beautiful , manageable and Silky smooth. What surprises me because it was so easy to wipe up the mess with a towel also on my skin that wasn’t covered by the towel I used to cover my clothes and the dye last for about 28 washes per dye. Very pleasant experience with dying the hair and the box is recyclable. If I would change anything Is include an applicator brush along with to get every strand. Very happy!

detailedReviews 66: content: The packaging is absolutely perfect for the product, as it is made from recycled materials and can be recycled itself. Love that and super fitting 💜 I have been dying my hair pretty consistently since middle school, and each time had to deal with that harsh chemical smell assaulting my senses. As I prepared to dye my hair with this new Simply Color, I decided against opening the windows right away so I could see just how much of a smell this dye had. Spoiler: the windows were still closed by the time I was done. There is a slight smell but nothing that will singe nose hairs or cause your eyes to tear up. As for the color pay off? I am kind of loving this brown. My hair is notoriously difficult to dye so I wasn't too surprised when I saw some strands refused to take to the color, but it looks alright so I'm not complaining. It has been a couple of weeks now and the color is still going strong. There was no staining on pillowcases or towels, and my shower has never been so dye free after a wash out. I would love to see the color range increase over time, but they definitely have my vote. I have already purchased a deeper shade of brown by Schwarzkopf's Simply Color, and plan on posting updated pictures once that dye job is complete. Thank you Influenster and Schwarzkopf for the opportunity to test out this product 💜

title: No harsh chemical smell, color still going strong
detailedReviews 67: content: I was impressed with this hair color because I typically get all my hair color from Sally's Beauty Supply. I'll start with the applicator. I liked how it screwed off rather than having to cut or twist it. It was nice to have a little reminder card built into the cover so you could write the next time you needed to do your hair. I didn't think there would be enough with one color mix, but it covered all my hair without an issue. It didn't have a harsh chemical smell so that was nice. It did give me a small reaction on my face where it was left on during processing. This has never happened to me with hair color, but it went away shortly after washing it off. I wasn't crazy about the conditioner because it was thin and didn't moisturize my hair as well as other comparable brands. The smell of the conditioner wasn't bad, but not my favorite either. My hair came out darker than the cool brown on the box, but this is typical for my hair because it has been previously processed several times. I believe everyones hair will have slight variations on the end result depending on what color you start with and the condition of your hair. My hair did come out even and it doesn't seem like my hair has more damage either. The end result is beautiful so I would definitely use this product again.

title: Easy application, no harsh smell, even color
detailedReviews 68: content: I was looking for a dye that do the least damage, I am loosing a lot of hair and my scalp is not in its best shape. The Jet Back may leave a slight blue undertone. I washed my hair with a purifying shampoo, which solved this minor blueish issue I followed with an application of a rich moisturizing and softening conditioner, then a Keratin Intensive treatment : makes wonders. After my first use, I found this hair colour considerately more gentle on my scalp than my previous dye, and as a bonus: it covered my grey hair! Schwarzkopf Simply Color is infused with "extras" to help locks recover, such as botanical oat milk, soy protein, Boerhavia Diffusa Root Extract, and Argan oil. It was important for me the hair dye would be absent of harsh and damaging chemicals. For this reason, I opted for Schwarzkopf. It does not contain any of these: P-Phenylenediamine (PPD), Ammonia, Silicone, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Aminophenol, Naphthol, Ethanolamines, PEG =Polyethylene Glycol, and Propylene Glycol. So far, I'm delighted.

detailedReviews 69: content: I opened up the packaging and I really liked how things were laid out super simple. Easy instructions to follow, and no bad hair dye smell. Honestly, it really didn’t have any smell at all which was shocking. Though I do wish the conditioner they supplied would have a nice smell to it but it smelled sooo plain. Like it had no scent at all. If anyone has sensitive smells, then this is for you! I guess like it says on the box 0% which seems safer for kids when you’re dying your hair, and wash it all off, that the baby can safely be near you after and not inhale any chemicals. I had very damaged hair and I didn’t realize how damaged it was because my hair was blonde but this color they sent me was medium brown, which covered all the blonde. I noticed a lot of my hair shedded off and had a lot of breakage. It’s like straws of hay now, which the nourishing conditioner didn’t do much. The conditioner has absolutely no smell at all, no good or bad smell. It smelled like nothing. I felt like I put a scent less conditioner in my hair. Overall, the instructions and contents was easy to follow and I’m surprised how fast it worked on changing the color of my hair. Oh yeah I liked the bottle, because it was clear! That way I knew how much hair dye I had left. I like the color, it looks like I’ve got black hair instead of brown hair. I’m not sure how medium brown is suppose to work on blonde hair, but hopefully it will lighten up better after a few more washes.

detailedReviews 70: content: So I saw others review about the product, some good others not so much. So since I am doing a permanent hair color I wanted to give it my honest opinion about the product received for free from #Influenster for doing the survey and giving my opinion with my experience of use of the hair color. My hair has always been dark. I did have blond / Light brown / auburn highlights put in hair about 5 months ago. I had heavily conditioned my hair after the highlights. I put the Schwarzkopf hair color in Med Brown in my hair 2 weeks ago and I honestly love the color! It doesn’t have a bad odor and the application was Very simple. Took less than 15 min to apply myself. I did not experience any hair loss after using the product. My hair was dry so I need a deep conditioner treatment. I absolutely love the color and I will say I don’t usually do my own hair color at home because I’ve had a few bad experiences, well I this has me wandering if it may be safe to do my hair at home again. It is not expensive and yes I would recommend this product now to anyone. I wanted to wait a few weeks to make my review to see if I’d possibly have any hair loss or breaking/splitting of my hair or any other possible side effects. I did not experience any of the above and I am enjoying my new hair color! I posted before and today’s view. I my hair lost some shine and you’ can see where some of my blonde isn’t the same color as the rest. This is the best I can suggest; always feel condition your hair prior and mans she’s it’s the color you want because it’s permanent lol. #schwarzkopf

detailedReviews 71: content: Schwarzkopf Simply color VoxBox 💕When I received this Schwarzkopf hair color I looked them up and was happy to see the emphasis on a 100% recyclable carton being used for hair color. I also saw that Schwarzkopf Simply Color is available in many shades and some gorgeous blondes of course for the #SimplyColorBlondes 👱♀️collection. Color results are pictured on the side of the box, 1 thing I would improve is to have the color results picture be a little bigger. When I shop for hair color I like to make sure that it is ammonia free. This one is and it is also silicone and alcohol free✅. This all helps with keeping it gentle on my hair. The explanations for use are easy to follow✅. The post color Nourishing conditioner is a generous 1.7oz, which I appreciate having long hair. It says it is 4 applications. I left it on a little longer than the suggested 2 minutes and it felt really smooth and conditioning to the length of my hair. Inside the lid is a reminder note✅ of your shade # and for when to buy your next box, I thought that was a nice touch💕 @SchwarzkopfUS #SimplyColorBlondes

detailedReviews 72: content: I have to say I am really impressed with this boxed color! I haven't used boxed color in years so when I had the chance to try this I was curious to see how it's changed. While the mix, plastic gloves and after conditioner process stayed similar, the color itself was so much better! While I typically go lighter than this (level 9 blonde), this actually came out much less brassy and softer than my usual professional color, amd no toner was needed which is a huge bonus! There was no heavy smells as with most blonde colors, and the color was really even and my hair was super soft. I hope they can somehow make lighter options than level 9 and still keep the formula but this worked well on my hair (natural level 7/8,dark blonde with gold highlights and undertones) and I'm sure I'm the sun it will lighten more. I'm excited to see how it lasts through washes (I have well water which is harsher on blonde color). I would definitely buy this color in the future! Side note-pics are the same day, same light, same room, before and after color was applied. I hadn't colored my hair in 2 months and hadn't applied my normal in between toners because I knew I'd be trying this out. My before color is around a level 11 starting out but goes brassy without toning in between color.

detailedReviews 73: content: Some hair dyes look super obvious on my hair but this brand is not so black that it looks fake, plus the gunmetal is not as intense. So it is perfect for covering up faded blue or red after those colors fade. My thick hair needs time to repair from bleached treatments for colors like blue. So I like using this one as I repair the dryness from other coloings during the year. Use the paste type of conditioner and leave it for half a day to repair damaged and dry hair. Rinse and treat with a hair oil for the other half of the day and then shampoo and condition as usual at night and its good after a heavy damage from bleaching.

detailedReviews 74: content: I recently just tried the new hair dye made by Schwarzkopf, called “simply color†I got the color jet black. I am loving everything this hair dye packaging and ingredients represent, which is more eco-friendly and environment health cautious. First of all the packaging stands out because it is all recyclable totally different packaging anyone has ever use so this is the first I’ve seen of its kind. Then you go to the ingredients and there’s a bunch of healthy ingredients in this hair dye including argan oil, Botanic oat milk, soy protein, just to name a few. And there’s absolutely 0% ammonia, silicone, or alcohol in this hair dye! Which makes a huge difference after you have washed the dye out of your hair and dried and styled you couldn’t really tell the difference! Because there is very little, if not absolutely 0% damage done to your hair from the dye. And trust me I would be able to tell because my hair is already damaged so any more extra damage added on I would definitely be able to tell. To be honest I actually feel like my hair is more healthy now after I dyed it than it was before I dyed it! It’s been a couple of days now and it has held up the color as well. I believe this is as close as you’re going to get when you compare this product to get in your hair colored at the salon, which is saying a lot! Good job Schwarzkopf, well done! 👠👠👠👠🙌 This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

detailedReviews 75: content: I really liked Simply Color Permanent Hair Color by Schwarzkoph. I have colored my hair almost every color you can think of because I love to experiment with different colors. I am definitely not a trained hairdresser but over the years I've learned what products and colors work well on my hair so I usually color it at home.
This time I decided to go with a natural color to give my hair a break so I purchased shade 1.0 Jet Black. First thing I noticed was the unique packaging which was a 100% recyclable eco carton. I think it's great when companies make these efforts. I also liked seeing that it had 0% ammonia silicone alcohol in it which is nice because it's less harsh on your hair.
It had a nice light smell to it, nothing like some of the hair colors I've used in the past. This one I didn't feel like I had to open all the windows while I struggled to breathe. There was no irritation or burning feeling on my scalp and it was very easy to apply throughout my hair. The included conditioner was very soothing and hydrating as well.
I was very happy with the results and am excited to see how long it last before I need to touch up my roots to cover some of the small gray hairs I'm starting to get here and there. I definitely reccomend trying this product especially when looking for a natural color and simple gray coverage.

detailedReviews 76: content: I was hesitant about using an at home box kit because I do not typical dye my hair at home any more. The box did a good job of luring me into entertaining the idea stating "Simply Color’s nourishing formula with botanical oat milk, soy protein, and argan oil provides intense, even color, while giving you up to 100% gray coverage. With 0% Ammonia, Silicone and Alcohol. Leaving you with visibly healthy-looking hair." It was super easy to use, easy to read instructions. In my opinion easier than past at home boxes I've done before. Color, medium brown 5.0, was just as expected. The included conditioner left my hair feeling super soft and nourishing. It did not have an overwhelming ammonia smell either, I truly appreciate the brands mission to eliminate the harsh chemicals; 0% Ammonia, Silicone and Alcohol and to make it even better, it comes in completely recyclable packaging. For its purpose, I would definitely recommend this product. detailedReviews 77: content: I was so excited to receive this hair kit from Influencer! I am in my late 30s and have been covering my greys for a couple years now. I usually go to Sally’s to purchase hair dye and have been doing it at home myself since the epidemic. I’ve switched around with different shades, never knowing which to choose. I was delighted after using Schwarzkopf Simply Color in that the color came out even better than any of my other attempts at doing it myself. The grey for whatever reason is always so stubborn! No matter how long I leave it in before rinsing, it never seems to cover everything! This product not only did an exceptional job covering all of my difficult greys but my hair is super soft and healthy looking/feeling! I believe I have found my new go to product! The fact that it does not have any of the harmful ingredients that most hair dyes contain is what sold me! My hair has been colored, straightened, curled, blow dried, stripped etc so many times over leaving it very dry and brittle at the ends. I’m happy I can now dye it without causing it more damage. Thank you Influencer!

detailedReviews 78: content: I'm used to using box dyes, even though the smell that comes off of it is very strong and gives me a headache, but this hair dye didn't do it at all! As I was mixing the dye, the smell wafted around and I was surprised that it was so subtle that I didn't even need to open the window afterwards. The developer was liquidy, not like the thick white paste I'm used to, and it barely smelled like anything. Application was easy and my hair didn't feel crusty or dry after washing and air drying. My hair was a medium brown with caramel ends and the Dark Chocolate dye made my hair darker and warmer. There was no longer any dye residue after the third wash and the color turned out to be a warm, dark brown with red undertones. Under natural light you can really notice the red undertones, but the actual hair itself looked dark brown from far away and an actual chocolate brown from close up. My hair didn't seem dry or brittle afterwards, which I'm thankful, for and looks healthier after using the conditioner it came with. I honestly recommend this product for those sensitive to smells!

detailedReviews 79: content: I was given the Schwarzkopf Simply Color hair color in the shade Dark Blonde to try and give my honest review. sadly I was unable to try it on myself since I was only sent one box. I at least need 3 with all of my hair. luckily for me I have teenagers/Guinea pigs and was able to use it on my sons virgin hair. it has easy directions, mixed well with some shaking and applied with ease. Let me just say THANK YOU to Schwarzkopf for really making great smelling hair color without all the chemicaly-ness so many others have. Many products bother me and this really didn't at all. It didnt burn, itch or irritate him or me while applying or waiting the 30 minutes to develop. it rinsed out clean and left him with soft, shiney hair after. it did lighten about 2 shades lighter which was surprising since it's so gentle. The photo is taken just after application in day light. with no touch ups or filters on the hair. He did ask me to use a face filter/touch up in his "spots". the rest is all him with ZERO filters on the hair. I would highly recommend this for people sensitive to chemicals and smells who are looking to try a new hair shade. He was light brown before and it really did lighten quit a bit. Very impressive. I would have given 5 stars but I would have had to try it on me personally for that and one box just isnt enough for all my hair. All in all, its a great at home hair color. detailedReviews 80: content: I’ve been dyeing my hair at home for a while in deep black shades and it would be easier to maintain if it wasn’t because of my grey hairs, which requires me to do it often and be more careful when applying . This was my first time trying Simply Color, and my usual hair dye is of similar price point so I was excited to try something new and the possibility of a new option. Regarding application, is very similar to what I’m used to, so I was ok with it. When applying it I do get messy in my shoulders and forehead, so I was hoping it would be easy to clean. I was pleasantly surprised as it was a lot easier to clean than my regular brand. I also usually end up with a lot excess dye stuck to my scalp which gets very hard to rinse properly. Simply color was a lot easier to rinse and did not stain my ears or accumulate in my scalp. I was happy with the color result and grey coverage so I hope that it lasts as this is a brand that I already know will purchase again. Now to some additional benefits that can be useful or important to some people. Simply Color by Schwarzkopf contains no ammonia or alcohol. No unpleasant smell. The price is very affordable and they use sustainable packaging

This dye keeps my roots black until i have to do my touch up again. i use the rest of the dye through my hair so i dont waste any. detailedReviews 82: content: There were multiple things that I loved about this simply color dye! • I love how natural the color turned out to be. The cool brown perfectly eliminated the brassy tones and overly warm ends that I had from a previous ombré-gone-wrong. • I love how gentle and non-irritating this product was. I had a really inflamed, sore, and scaly scalp as I was dying my hair (this is normal for me, not caused by the dye). The product caused ZERO irritation or issues whatsoever - in fact, I think it may have actually helped my scalp! • I loved the ease of use. The small, eco friendly package came with everything you needed to get started! Well... except gloves. That is the only downside. Other than that - minimal mess was made. Mixing, applying, rinsing... all of it was easy to contain and wipe clean. No staining my skin! • I wanted to wait to do my review for a while - so that I would be able to review the longevity. About a month later, the color is still going strong! There has been minimal fading - and the fading only began once I started using a stripping shampoo with sulfates. If using a sulfate free, color safe shampoo and hair care, this product is well worth the investment! • Lastly, my absolute FAVORITE part of Simply Color were the ingredients in the product. They worked miracles for my hair! Ever since dying (which was 3 weeks ago) my hair has been significantly softer! It helped with my flyaways and brittle ends. My hair felt so much healthier after using this! I received this as a free gift in exchange for my honest review!

detailedReviews 83: content: I am a newbie to the whole DIY hair experience. Getting my hair done had become too expensive, and I eventually stopped coloring my hair since it was last dyed my natural shady. I let my hair grow out for months, but decided that I needed a pick me up. Since going to the salon was pricey and it was always difficult to find an appointment, I headed to Walmart. I wanted to try something with simple ingredients because I was concerned about an allergic reaction. This brand stood out to me, but my shade wasn’t in stock. I ordered it online and the shipping was even faster than I expected! Coloring my hair myself was an simpler process than I imagined. The application of this product was smooth and even. I may have missed a couple spots, but this blended seamlessly and had incredible coverage. The color itself is gorgeous. I have been buying this product ever since and I don’t think I’ll ever go back to another salon.

detailedReviews 84: content: I received this Swarzkopft Dark Blonde hair color box complimentary in exchange for my honest review. I have never colored, high lighted or altered my hair color in anyway...ever. When I received this VoxBox, I was excited but scared at the same time, as it it permanent, not semipermanent. So naturally, I have to over analyze every aspect of this and finally took the plunge. I read and re-read the instructions numerous times, in fact, too many times. This morning I decided to finally just do it. Don't think about it, just do it. I will say the instructions were super easy to follow, nothing confusing about the process at all. Everything came labeled and easy to identify in the package, which made me relax a little. My hair was a "dishwater blonde", as my mother always called it, and now, it's just dark...like maybe a darrrrkkkk blondish, kinda brownish. (At least it's not orange. That was my biggest fear.) It's actually quite nice. Super easy process from start to finish. No harsh smells. The color conditioner that came with it, makes my hair feel like silk. I really like this brand due to the simplicity of it all. I may get crazy and do it again.

detailedReviews 85: content: Okay I bought this with my own money so you can trust my review. First off, if you have brown hair the color WILL be darker than it is on the box, that pretty much happens to me with any box dye. My hair was already a dark brown but my ends always lighten over time. I bought this to somewhat darken my hair and even out the tone. I wasnt sure if I wanted this color (intense espresso) or darkest brown. On me it turned out super dark brown almost black which is what I wanted. The under tones are NEUTRAL with no red which I love!! It was super easy to apply and I love the natural ingredients. I have hair down to my butt (im 5’5) and two bottles was the perfect amount with extra to really saturate my hair. It came out really nice and not patchy atall. It wasnt as hydrating as Garnier Olia but I still really like it. I had basically no hair fall when I washed my hair which really impressed me!! If you are looking for something less damaging with natural ingredients I definitely recommend this stuff. Good luck!

detailedReviews 86: content: So I wasn’t sure what to expect with this boxed hair color. I recommend this product to everyone, seriously, the less chemical smell is the selling point for me, I’m sticking with Simply Color for that reason specifically and the color itself was also great! detailedReviews 87: content: So I was afraid of sampling Simply Color 3.65 Dark Chocolate because my hair is already a medium brown and I felt there would not be much of a difference in hair color. I was actually impressed and satisfied with the end result. My hair went a shade darker and the slint tint of redness I had closer to my tips was indeed a dark chocolate. I also noticed a little shine. I received one sample and my hair is almost up to my butt and didn't think it would be enough but it was. The process was easy and simple. You get your pamphlet with instructions and gloves to avoid getting dye on your hands. The hair dye itself was very easy to apply on your hair and tips. I was impressed with the clean up. I'm pretty messy when it comes to dying my hair and its usually hard for me to remove the dye from the floor and sink lol. This one however did not leave any stains behind. My husband was pretty happy about that one lol. Will I purchase this product? Absolutely! I would be interested in trying out a lighter color. I definitely recommend Schwarzkopf Simply Color! detailedReviews 88: content: Schwarzkopf Simply Color 0% Alcohol, Silicone, Ammonia is a great product. The hair color kit comes in recyclable packaging which is a nice touch. Application of the hair color was simple - as the name states. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. One thing that really surprised me during the application process is the scent of the hair color. Simply Color lacked the typically strong harsh chemical scent most hair dyes have. It actually smelled a bit like rose and peony. I received the color "Hazelnut Brown" which I like a lot. on my naturally medium brown hair, it turned out as a medium-light brown with a hint of red. It's a really pretty color. My hair looks healthy amd feels soft and silky. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the Schwarzkopf Simply Color hair dye, and will definitely purchase it in the future. detailedReviews 89: content: Not gonna lie, I got this box the other day from Influenster...and I *almost* didn’t use it. / I was unfamiliar with Schwarzkopf hair color, so I Googled it and was shocked to see it retails for under $10 at big box stores. I was immediately scared that this would be cheap junk that messed up my hair or had one flat, Goth-like dimension. / I Googled some more and read up on the ingredients, as well as what this Simply Color does NOT have: no silicone, ammonia, or alcohol, plus it does offer soy protein, argan oil and botanical oat milk. Heck, even the box is 100% recyclable. / I felt better, then remembered that I had signaled to Influenster that I would consider coloring my hair. I took a deep breath—and went for it. / Because of the pandemic I have been using Madison Reed at home. I was due for a touch-up and I had a lot of greys. My greys are very resistant to color, so this was a good experiment. / What I learned: this color is very forgiving and easy to use. I have below-shoulder-length hair and could have ultimately used two bottles of color, but that’s okay. I made it work. The first thing I noticed: zero "haircolor” smell. None! Even my Madison Reed smells awful compared to the Schwarzkopf Simply Color. / I left it on exactly 30 minutes to test the grey coverage. / It rinses out very nicely—and faster than other hair colors I have tried. The water ran clear in no time. I used the accompanying conditioner for two minutes, got the hairdryer out, then did a major mirror test. / NO GREYS. At all. I don’t know how long that will last, or whether they’ll fade back in after several washes...but I’m impressed. Again, NO odor. Love that!! And while I don’t think this offers as much dimension or tones as my regular box color, I don’t look like Morticia and my hair is soft and shiny with a very acceptable, believable color. / I am seriously pleased and, again, impressed. I would absolutely buy this again as an at-home product. Thank you to Influenster and Schwarzkopf for the opportunity to try this excellent product.

title: No greys, no odor, soft and shiny hair
detailedReviews 90: content: Let's start with the good. The ease of application is fantastic, the product is thick enough that you won't make a mess and thin enough to spread out easily. For hair color, the smell is actually very very tolerable. The coverage is okay, I left it on longer than recommended because I know my hair up be stubborn and it still didn't completely cover my grey. However, it DOES wash off skin super super easy. While the color itself is fine, there's no brassiness or orange look even though it's a red tone; I should have been better prepared for how it would work out for me personally. I had fairly long grey roots and medium brown hair to start. SO, my eyes are def hot, but that's on me. If you have thirsty hair (like I do) and it's longer than your shoulders you are going to need more than one box. unfortunately I couldn't find this shade in store and took the gamble that I could cover all of my hair...I could not. Overall I like the product and will purchase it in the future, just need to boxes in a flattering shade for my skin tone.

title: Easy application, tolerable smell, washes off skin easily
detailedReviews 91: content: I typically color my hair using Schwarzkopf's Color Ultime chocolate copper, but I was looking for a color closer to John Frieda's Lt. Natural Brown. My skin tends to be sensitive, so I was excited to try this new line. The Color Ultime line is friendly to my scalp and also has a not-too-offensive odor. I was going to pick almond brown in the color range since hazelnut brown looked more auburn and the almond brown only shows blonde hair color results on the box, no light brown. Truffle brown looked dramatically brown. You can see red and gold tints in different lights. It's a chocolatey brown I think. I did my usual root touch-up application since I color every 6-8 weeks. The color was seamless. An employee at Walgreens told me the color looked natural. I thought it was rather dark for my fair skin. I took pictures of my hair the first day I washed my hair after coloring -- roughly 38 hours after. I hope Schwarzkopf makes more colors because overall my scalp stung a bit, but nothing lasting. The odor I normally expect wasn't there. I did use a hair mask because my hair seemed drier than it normally is, and my hair now is shiny and has dimension.

title: Seamless color, natural looking, shiny hair
detailedReviews 92: content: I received the Schwarzkopf 7.5 Almond Brown hair dye as part of a complimentary Influenster campaign! I finally had the opportunity to try it out this weekend. Firstly, I love that the box is 100% recyclable! I often look to use eco-friendly product so this is a huge plus. You can see in the first picture, my natural hair color from which I started. It was actually a lot darker than I thought it would be. I thought it would be closer to my natural blonde. The box they sent me wasn't quite enough to do my whole head since my hair is very long so I just did the underside for a cute accent. I thought the coloring was very even and natural looking. I left it in my hair for 30 minute before I washed it out with cold water. This product says it is permenant so time will tell how well it holds. I will say that I did not care for the conditioner that it came with. My usual brand has a much better conditioner that leaves my hair feeling soft and fluffy whereas this one left knots. Overall, I probably would invest in this product but not this color.

title: Even and natural looking color, good coverage
detailedReviews 93: content: This hair dye is amazing! I’m usually a Redken lover but I must say this left my hair in good condition it felt soft and looked super shiny afterwards. I have stubborn gray hair and this definitely colored it! The smell of it wasn’t bad and was glad I was able to color my entire hair with just one box normally I have to use two boxes to fully saturate my hair. I will say that I mixed the developer and color in a mixing bowl and used a dye brush instead of the applicator it came with I just wanted a more accurate application and not stain my scalp. I left it on for 30 minutes followed using my pureology hydrate conditioner and left that in for 20 minutes and rinse out with cold water to keep moisture in my hair. The process was super easy this hair dye came with gloves which was nice. I’m truly happy with the results I know everyone’s hair/texture is different so results might vary for some but I really enjoyed this hair dye and will consider using it again! The color sent to me was Dark Chocolate.

title: Colored stubborn gray hair, good condition, nice smell
detailedReviews 94: content: Smells good and leaves hair soft and conditioned. Caused no damage to my fine hair. My natural hair is medium/dark brown with some golden and strawberry highlights when the sun hits it. I had a very grown out partial balayage and decided to try a box dye for the first time in my life due to the pandemic shut downs. This one looked safe for both natural hair with sensitive skin as well as my highlights. I used chocolate cherry and the color initially came out several shades darker than the box showed, almost black with a red hue. I still liked it and now over two months later it has faded out to a beautiful, deep auburn - more similar to the color on the box. It's nearly impossible to tell the difference between my natural roots and dyed hair, it blends in pretty seamlessly. I thought I would have to color again by now but I may wait a bit longer as I still love the faded color. My only advise would be to consider shortening the processing time the first time if you would hate it coming out darker, you can always process longer next time for a more dramatic look.

title: Faded to beautiful deep auburn, blends seamlessly
detailedReviews 95: content: I received this hair color for free from Influenster for my honest opinion. I used it on my hair which tends to be dry and gets bleached out by the sun in the upper layers. I had quite a bit of white growing in certain areas and I had a lot of color difference between the upper layers and underneath where my hair was much darker. This hair color was easy to use and didn’t smell terrible while I was using it. After I rinsed it out, my hair didn’t feel like straw as is usual with hair color. This hair color was much gentler on my hair. The color difference was very subtle as my hair was sun bleached on the layers where the sun hits it anyway. My hair is naturally strawberry blonde to red and this evened out the colors and made it to where the underneath layers matched the top layers much more. It also completely covered my white hairs. It looks very natural too. I’m happy with the results.

title: Gentler on hair, evened out colors, covered white hairs
detailedReviews 96: content: Let me start off by saying I have medium length and thick hair The packaging is really nice it’s 100% recyclable and I like that the product isn’t full of toxic chemicals. One thing that most box dyes have is that tip on the application bottle that you have to cut with scissors. This you don’t need scissors! It twists off which I’ve never seen before and I love that! Pulling the gloves off the paper made me nervous because they were really attached. I thought they were going to rip but they didn’t. Minor issue though. Applying was really easy and best of all I only needed 1 box! I usually I need 1 and half or 2. After washing it out and drying my hair: my hair feels really soft I do still smell the dye on my hair but it’s not a bad smell like most dyes have. Minor inconvenience but I can just rewatch my hair later and it will be fine. The color: it looks good! my hair was a tad lighter before coloring so it really looks the same just a smidge darker. Would I recommend this product? Yes. Especially if you’re like me and hate spending a lot of money on hair dye or need more than one box.

detailedReviews 97: content: I purchased this product to try it out. Once I opened the package, I found all the items were in the package, as stated. I read the instructions and put on the gloves, then opened the two containers that were to be mixed. The colorant was in a metal tube, which made it difficult to squeeze into the other bottle. I managed to get a lot of it, but was left wondering if I was able to get enough out of it to make sure the color was going to come out as planned. I next mixed the two components and found that they mixed easily. I then placed a towel on my shoulders and applied the product. The container had enough product to apply generously to my hair, even though I have long hair. The hardest part of coloring my hair has always been the wait. This was no different since the instructions stated I had to wait 30 minutes before rinsing. The product lathered quickly and easily and rinsed our well. Because I have long hair, I used 1/2 of the tube of conditioner. This, too rinsed out easily. There was no strong odor with the product and it did not irritate my skin or scalp in any way. The product covered my gray hair and looks gorgeous. I will definitely buy this product again in the future!!! This review was collected as part of a promotion, and the opinions are my own.

detailedReviews 98: content: I love that there's 0% alcohol, silicone, and ammonia and the carton is 100% recyclable. It didn't have that overwhelming "dye" smell. Honestly I didn't notice much of a scent at all. The dye that got on my skin (which was a lot and everywhere 🤣) wiped right off. My scalp wasn't left stained either! I love love love the color my hair turned out!! It's darker and the dye really brought out the natural red in my hair . Pictures do not do it justice or show how vibrant it is. My hair feels soft and looks great! I can't stop admiring it! The only con is the color cream tube. Both tubes I used ended up cracking open on the sides. It was a little difficult getting all of the product out. If you're looking for a new dye or thinking of dying your hair I highly recommend Schwarzkopf Simply Color!! There's so many beautiful shades to choose from. Also I have to add that I had a horrible allergic reaction to Herbal Essence dye many years ago and I did not have any reaction to this dye. Influenster sent me one box complementary and I ordered a 2nd box from Walmart so I'd have enough dye to do all of my hair. It comes with a tube of color cream, the applicator bottle with the developing lotion, a tube of the conditioner, instructions and a pair of gloves. I'm absolutely thrilled with the way that the color turned out. Perfect, non-patchy coverage. I've never really gone this dark, with a reddish tinge before, but honestly, I am so ready for Fall. I definitely recommend this hair color for those of you that have stubborn gray hairs. It's readily available and affordable, especially for home use.

The long lasting color which doesn't fades off very easily but the experience can be vary from person to person. Recommend to do a patch test before use. I really like the coverage and finish of the colour. The hair looks luxurious only needs to touch up the roots depends on the hair growth time.

detailedReviews 102: content: We love our new stand alone freezer. You know you’re getting older when you get excited about a new appliance lol. It arrived super fast, we live in Texas so it turns out wherever it shipped from was also in Texas. No dents or scratches, box was in perfect condition. It was super easy to set up. No assembly required except to put the drain plug in the bottom. We let it sit for an entire day so the coolant could settle before plugging it in. Once we plugged it in, it started right up and only took about an hour or 2 to reach the ideal cold frozen temp. We added in/organized our food into it and it’s been perfect since. We paid the extra $18 for the 2 year warranty. We felt like it was worth it because we hope to have this freezer in our garage for a long time. It’s a really good size. We probably could’ve gone smaller since we are only 2 people but for the price we thought we might eventually fill it up but for now it’s nice and roomy and we can find our food without too much digging. If you’re on the fence, get it! We’ve had it for about a month and the only complaint is it gives off a fishy odor in our garage but other than that it works perfectly. We don’t spend that much time in the garage so the fishy odor doesn’t bother us much, also it seems to come and go. The scent is not constant. Idk but we love having a nice big extra freezer.

detailedReviews 103: content: I DYED MY HAIR!! And I trusted a box dye. Simply Color Medium Ashe Blonde by @schwarzkopfusa - Need without alcohol and other harsh ingredients that could damage your hair. It is what it advertisers, simply color. 👱♀️👱♀️👱♀️👱♀️ I have been growing out my natural hair for over a year now and was VERY apprehensive about coloring it, particularly because a lot of blondes have had a bad experience with this particular brand… 🚨BUT @schwarzkopfpro has listened to their customers and reformulated the Simply Color line. 🚨 I was offered an opportunity to try it again, and this time…. I actually did it! (See my previous post) @influenster ▶️SWIPE▶️ for before and after!! I will say that my hair was already kind of gray and on the ashy side to begin with, and it did make it a bit more golden. But the final color matched the description on the box, I found the conditioner to work well, the products were easy to use, and I have no adverse side effects. I appreciate that this line is formulated with gentle ingredients, rather than harsh chemicals, because I’m very concerned about hair breakage and fall out right now. I will say that the color didn’t seem to grab on to my grays as well as it could have, but that is probably because the hair was so much lighter than the color result was supposed to be. I do enjoy that it left in my hair is natural color variation, rather than dying it all one flat monotone shade. I would try those hair dye again, and I am surprised I’m saying that. 👍👍👍 I suggest doing some research yourself on the ingredients, if turning to a less abrasive chemical die sounds good to you. They also have a complementary staff of professionals that will help you pick the perfect product.

I expected my hair to lighten a little with the almond brown but it did not. The final result was similar in range to my natural color, maybe with a tinge more red. It's a nice color but not what I was going for. The smell isnt the greatest but didn't seem as strong as other brands I've used. The conditioner doesn't smell great either but seemed to work well. I always wash my hair after coloring to soften the look. The product rinsed well and there wasn't transfer on my towel. Hair still feels soft like I hadn't colored it. Overall, I'd recommend.

Getting my hair done had become too expensive, and I eventually stopped coloring my hair since it was last dyed my natural shady.
