detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: DO NOT BUY!!! I really wish I had read the low-star reviews of this headphones before purchasing. I purchased the UltWear headphones after my previous pair of Sony WH-XB910N headphones stopped working after around a year and a half of use. I had the Best Buy warranty purchased for the WH-XB910N headphones and assumed it would be a simple process to get my new pair. How wrong I was. Sony (very conveniently I might add) discontinued the WH-XB910N headphones, so getting a replacement pair was not an option. Instead, I had to pay the difference out of pocket between the original price of the WH-XB910Ns and the UltWear headphones. I figured the increase in price I had to pay would be worth it as I would be receiving higher quality headphones that would last longer than their previous generation (How wrong I was again). Almost every negative review for the ULTWear headphones on this page mentions the same flaw, the swivel hinge on the ear cups being faulty. Similar to other reviews, the headphones were well taken care of and have barely seen usage since their purchase, however the swivel hinge snapped all the same (Look at my photo and compare it to the others, all the headphones have snapped in the exact same place). This has been mentioned by countless other reviewers, yet Sony has clearly decided to avoid the issue in lieu of selling more defective products. After spending hours on the phone with both Best Buy customer support and Sony support, they both assured me that neither were culpable in covering the product and the costs of repair would fall on me. Utterly disappointing interactions with both companies who could have done even the slightest act to reestablish good faith. Its a shame too because I really recommended these headphones and the previous pair to literally everyone I know. I'll have no problem sharing the news now that Sony headphones and their products in general are not even worth the box they are packaged in. Stick to another retailer, buy Bose and avoid the mess of ever dealing with either of these businesses.

detailedReviews 2: content: Sony bringing their bass to the next level. Along with bringing the bass they also supplied impressive noise cancelling and great value for $200 mid range headphones. Noise cancelling was surprisingly effective it can rival some of the premium options out in the market (looking at you Apple) and definitely holds on its own. It even performs similarly to the wh-1000xm4 ( the goat for me) but the Ult Wear imo has better comfort and Bluetooth connection than the outdated wh-1000xm4. The Ult Wear however does not cancel as much noise as the ongoing wh 1000xm5 and recently released wh 1000xm6 ; if noise cancelling is your top priority I would pivot towards the 1000xm6 and not the xm5 because the xm6 have more padding and deeper spacious ear cups than the xm5. The Ult Wear blends the comfort of the xm4 and a sprinkle of the noise cancelling of the xm5 into one and the Ult Wear has the best of two worlds. Bass is obviously the standout of the Ult Wear and since I'm a bass Head I really enjoy listening to music with these . However if you're not a part of the bass Head club don't worry you can still get an enjoyable listening experience without the madness and chaos occurring just don't forget to turn the Ult toggle off thank me later. For the value they offer and given the noise cancelling it can compete with the Ult Wear is a no brainer for someone who wants not only bass but also wants the amenities premium flagships offer the Ult Wear fits what you need for a fraction of the price.

detailedReviews 3: content: I got these because my wife was getting annoyed when I tried to record music & my old pairs she said she could hear them all the time.
These are really quiet both ways but sound very loud and warm when you wear them. I listened to a lot of old stuff id heard a thousand times and they seemed 100 times better just from the basic fullness of the frequency range.
These sound extremely good if a little bit heavy on the bass, but i think the app has EQ settings.
You can wear these mowing the lawn and that sort of thing and be able to hear it. Good noise cancel.
Really comfortable, which lots of headphones are good at first but after a while my ears and top of my head get sore. Lots of padding.
The battery is great, charging is fast then lasts a long time. They also work great with a regular stereo mini jack aux cord which I usually use anyway
Only things I’m not huge on is the capacitive touch control. Really cool tech gimmick, but it’s always getting false triggers if I brush up against something or adjust them etc.
It was a little tough to get the Bluetooth connection going on my wife’s phone for some reason. Until I put the app on it too. I guess it tries to recognize the app before the regular Bluetooth signal?
And yeah the bass frequencies are boomy and clear as bass can be but the default sound maybe has an absurd amount too much, but that’s only a “too much good thing” complaint.
Some of my old synthesizers and drum machines I thought sounded mediocre were actually just not given proper listening output
Overall though amazing sound and worth the price.

detailedReviews 4: content: If you're looking for a bass heavier version of the WH-1000XM4/XM5 and at a cheaper price, like the WH-CH720N, then this is a great option. The benefit of these headphones, over the WH-CH720N is that it has better ambient sound, more bass and it has the benefit of having touch controls on the right ear pad, like the XM4's and XM5's, which is a nice touch. You can also hold your hand over the right ear cup to let sound in and it fades out the music, so you can have a conversation with someone.
These headphones have a ULT button on the left ear pad, that goes from off (no added base) to ULT 1 (added bass) and then ULT 2 (even more bass). I find ULT 1 to be the best option for my ears. If you want to use the maximum amount of bass, make sure that in the Sony Headphones app that you boost the bass in the equaliser settings at +10 first, because otherwise, you won't be using these headphones to their full potential. Unfortunately, you can't use the ULT button to boost the base or the EQ settings when using a wired connection, which is a shame. While you can use them wired while they're off, they won't sound nearly as good compared to when they're on, so I highly recommend keeping them on when you're using a wired connection. The same goes with the WH-CH720N.
Also, for the EQ settings, I think having 0, +5 , +10, +10 and +10 on the five frequency settings brings out the most clarity with these headphones, as they do sound a bit muddy and not very clear when using their default settings. I use these settings for the 720N as well, as it really makes the sound a lot clearer and vibrant.
Overall, I highly recommend these headphones for bass lovers. I think they pack quite a punch.
9/10.

detailedReviews 5: content: Having received the ULT Wear headphones, I found them extremely easy to configure. The "headphones" app (downloaded from the App store onto my Iphone XS) was easy to use, as well as providing access to setup of controls and graphic equalizer provided access to easily understandable tutorials which helped immensely in the learning process.
The App also acts as as an interface between the headphones and up to two audio devices at any one time, which allows me to listen to podcasts and/or radio stations on my phone, but quickly switch to listen to music stored on my Sony Sony NW-A40 Series Walkman.
Setup commences with "ear shape analysis" which purports to set up the phones to your ear shape - the ear cups totally surround the ear which is a very comfortable experience.
The Noise cancelling option is excellent, allowing switching between
Off (no explanation needed there);
Ambient Sound (which reduces outside soiund interference, but allows you to also hear if someone speaks to you); and
Noise Cancelling where the listener becomes isolated and there is no outside sound encrouching on the listening experience (this can be a little off putting at first but is quickly adapted to)
Outside of the "Headphones" app, the headset has button controls on the left cup, for power on, noise cancelling and ULT (which switches between different levels of bass boost and switches in the Clear Bass option) the paring with Bluetooth devices other than through the phone app is also possible in the standard manner.
The really cool tech though, which I think lifts these 'phones above competitors is the "touch controls on the surface of the right ear piece, allowing control of the listening device without touching it.
two taps - pauses playback, a second two taps recommences the playback;
swipe a finger up or down the surface increases or decreases volume;
swipe a finger forward or backwards advances the playback to the next/previous song/station (if listening to a radio station);
Finally if you lift the headphones from the head sensors recognise this and pause the playback until the headset is placed back on the head!!!
Finally, in terms of sound quality I found the headset performs excellently giving an engaging experience, enhanced by the Equaliser (within the Headphones app) which provides 9 preset options (including one for Speech, useful for podcast listening) and two configurable presets which you can save set to your personal preference.
I have also found the headset useable for work, when using MS Teams or the like, for on line meetings/calls. The microphones located on each earpiece (which also provide the sampling of ambient sound for noise cancelling) pick up my voice very clearly without the need for a microphone boom typical of a PC headset.
In all the ULT Wear is one of the best headsets I've experienced in recent years, much more flexible than most competitors (in my opinion) and far more comfortable than the normal "in-ear buds" supplied by phone/mp3 player manufacturers.
If asked, I would certainly recommend these to anyone looking for a comfortable, enjoyable, quality listening experience.

title: Having received the ULT Wear headphones, I found...
detailedReviews 6: content: I wanted some over the ear headphones with better bass options and NC, and the ULTs fit the bill. Got a good deal on them on here. The thing is, they sound fantastic, comfort level is pretty high, they're lightweight, easy to use, but, the build quality is very plastic-y lightweight and not very high quality. Bose and JBL have better build quality by far, even Skullcandy, for the same level of headphone and NC etc. and bass extras. However I was using the ULTs the past two weeks since I got them, today I had them on with music via my Iphone at IKEA for two hours, or so, and they sounded fantastic and drowned out any external noise and all I heard was my powerful music with powerful muscular bass and nothing else. And they are very light on the head. I just wish the build quality overall was better and a bit heavier with some more metal in them. The hinges and pivot points are notoriously weak on the ULTs from what I've read. Otherwise, for the money I paid used, they are worth it. The other BT headphones I own are older VMODA Crossfades which are 5 stars, but lack NC, and new JBL 770 LIVES which are almost as good as the Sonys and have better build quality overall. The Sony sound quality as long as you don't go nuts with too much ULT bass (use the EQ and app. features to reign it in) is nearly audiophile quality. It's not, but it's very good.

detailedReviews 7: content: I purchased these after cross shopping them with the Bose QC45 and chose this because I felt the sound quality was just a little bit better and the extra features with the touch pad interested me.
My primary use case for these was for cross country flights, and they did well at this task. That is until about 2 months after buying these when the swivel hinge on the left ear cup fell apart while I was taking the headphones off. I have always stored these in their case and have never dropped or abused them, so to see them break like this was a surprise. I figured there must be a defect in the hinge.
I contacted customer support from Sony and was promptly told the warranty does not cover any physical damage whatsoever. I know it sounds like it would just me taking my word on this being a defect but a quick google search for "Sony Headphones Swivel Hinge" will reveal this is a common issue on all of their headphones, and the fact they both have not fixed a bad design and also refuse to stand behind their product is telling.
So if you want great sounding headphones that need to be replaced or repaired every 2 months, this is a great choice.
I personally will just get the Bose QC45 and not look back.

detailedReviews 8: content: I have not tried a whole lot of over the ear headphones, Beats, JBL and Sony. for reference I wear a size 7 hat and these fit ok, a bit better then the Beats Pro Studio. They are pretty comfortable for some extended use, I have not worn them for more than 4hrs yet, but they were pretty comfortable. Like with most over the ear headphones I have tried if you need to wear glasses there are some ANC issues and noise leaked, they are however much better then the Beats with glasses on, this is attributed to the lager ear cups I assume. With no glasses on the ANC works pretty well, even while driving a noisy tractor or running equipment, the only problem with that is I often times need to wear protective eye wear so the noise canceling will suffer in those circumstances, but when worn inside or under more normal circumstances it performs well. I am not an audiophile but these seem a have a bit of bass saturation it seems droany at times, but overall the sound is pretty good. The EQ does give you some play as to setup and with some tweaking I might be able to refine that at bit. I got these on a really good deal and used some rewards points so they were well worth what I have in them, if I was planning on spending $200-$300 there would be lots of options I would have to listen to, but for $150-$200 these are up to the fight

detailedReviews 9: content: -Design
The design is as you’d expect from a pair of Sony headphones, they are very lite, adjustable, foldable and come with a sturdy travel case. It also comes with a 3.5mm cable for connecting to any device in case the battery runs out and a USB-C cable, quite shot so can’t charge while wearing but these days who doesn’t have multiple cables laying around.
-Ease of Use
Out of the box easy to set up and connect directly with iOS or android with the touch of a button, as soon as I turned them on they showed up on my Bluetooth list. The app assists with adjusting the equaliser, the buttons responses and features such as pausing sound when removing the headphones which also has an auto off feature and customisations based on whether you’re walking, waiting, working, gymming which automatically adjusts noise cancelling and ambient sound based on your location. You can also navigate between two different connected devices through the app and seamlessly switch between them. The swipe function on the right headphone works seamlessly and without much effort, it was very easy to increase/decrease the volume by swiping up or down and play next/previous by swiping front or back. Making and receiving calls, adjusting the volume, skipping songs etc. can all be done by hands free voice control and works great with iPhones’ Siri assistant. Calls are clear and the headphones do a good job blocking out any unnecessary sounds.
-Performance
One great feature which is becoming standard is being able to connect to two devices at a time allowing audio from your phone and TV for example, which is great as I’m a PS5 gamer. One feature I loved is being able to cover the right headphone with your palm which immediately lowers the sound and filters in ambient sound, very useful in public settings if wanting to listen to an announcement or to someone trying to say something, remove your palm and the sound is back up. Batteries have come a long way in recent years and with up to 30 hours of battery life you’ll get hours and hours of play on these without constantly worrying about recharging.
-Build quality
My ears tend to get sore after a couple of hours with over-ear headphones but I was able to wear these for hours at a time, the ear padding is soft and very comfortable and doesn’t wrinkle. One issue to note that I’ve had with previous Sony headphones is the leather coming apart either on the ear pieces or the head rest, time will tell if this has been addressed. They do however feel sturdy and well built and I can see them lasting a long time.
-Sound quality
The sound is where these headphones excel as you would hope, they are LOUD, clear, crisp and have a rich and deep bass. The noise cancelling is the best I’ve experienced on Sony headphones, even when playing loud music it doesn’t disturb people around me and it blocks out sound really well. The 360 reality audio is incredible and makes you feel like you’re in a concert hall as you move around, you can even submit photos of your ears for ‘ear shape analysis’ so the sound is custom delivered to the shape of your ears! There is a ULT switch on the device which sends a sound with each press but to be honest it was difficult to tell which mode it’s on or to differentiate between each setting as there was no obvious or significant difference with each press.
-Value
Loaded with many amazing and useful features for the price range that are customisable and adaptable to different lifestyles. Used on their own or paired with the app these headphones are made for simplicity and eliminating additional steps to be able to enjoy a comfortable listening experience for hours.

detailedReviews 10: content: Product Quality:as expected from a Sony product, high quality
Performance:the bass is ✨ b a s s i n g ✨
Best Feature:noise cancellation, ult mode
Bought the ult wear in this shop coz they're selling it cheaper than the official store here in PH (got this for ₱8k with voucher)
Was skeptical at first but thank god I received an authentic one :D
Got a Japanese model so it's in the Japanese language when I used it though yeah you can change the language of the voice when you download the app
As for the product, yeah if you love and appreciate bass, this one is for you
Idk I just like how the ult mode makes the bass go "mMmMmMmMmMm" in my ears
I always use the ult mode so when the song I'm playing has a heavy bass, the headphones rattle a little bit sometimes XD
It's a bit bulky but what really matters here is the sound quality
One charge will last you several days on an average use based on my experience
Oh and noise cancellation, it works (sorry I don't use it that often hehe)
Also, it's worth mentioning that the package is safely wrapped in a thick bubble wrap and that there's also a freebie travel adapter given by this shop
