items 3: content: This camera has changed the GAME! I am so incredibly impressed with this quality of the photos it takes. Even with the kit lens, I’m so impressed! I had bought a brand new Canon Rebel T7 and put a 50 mm & 85 mm lens on it and this camera with the KIT LENS blows that camera and prime lenses out of the water! I love this camera so much. It’s the best purchase I’ve ever made! The touch focusing feature is awesome. The auto ISO is incredible. The shutter sound sounds so boujee (LOL) when I snap a picture with this camera, I just feel like a professional! I’m trying to start a photography business and practicing with this camera has made such a difference! If you were wanting to get in Photography - spend the money. It is well worth it.
Update: I had my 2nd shoot with the camera yesterday. I am completely blown away by the difference in the photos that this camera takes versus the DSLR Canon camera that I had. I shot these with a 35 mm prime lens and just WOW! I am still new at this but I am so thankful I made the purchase. If you are starting Photography, whether it’s a hobby or you want to go pro, this camera is the way to go! I am a Sony gal for life now!

items 4: content: Best camera on the market right now. Ive been shooting sony since the 1st gen a7 series, going from an a7<a7s<a7ii<a7rii & now the a7iii. Between the first 2 generations there were limitations that i felt yearning for such as longer battery life, dual card slots & better autofocusing in challenging light etc. The a7rii did so much for me & was way ahead of its time but those departments i mentioned were still lacking & i had hopes of them being filled when gen 3 would be released. When the a9 and a7riii released i was excited to know that they implemented those changes but my pockets weren't deep enough to budget for either of those 2. I stayed more focus on the rumors & hopes of an a7iii announcement not nearly expecting as much as what was to come. Sony hit it out of the park and released a camera that blows all the competition away, somewhat cannibalizing their higher end sales, this camera fills in every space i ever wanted in a camera. Granted theres some things that could be done differently, such as better touch implementation & making both sd slots UHS-2, however those may be wants for others but i have no gripe with either of them. For the large majority of people this camera can do it all at a much more (still high) affordable price point. Unless you have the need for 42mp or 20fps than this is the sony camera to get. It has placed my a7rii as my backup camera & am using the a7iii even over it for landscapes and portraits because the color rendition & joy to use has been improved. I can ramble on all day about all the tech features etc, but if you are looking at this camera & on the fence about it, you will not be disappointed.
Pros:
-amazing autofocus that covers almost entire frame
-large battery
-improved color over previous gen
-amazing lowlight performance, better than a9 & a7riii, about as good or better than a7sii in certain modes
-improved ergonomics
-improved menu
-touchscreen focusing
Cons:
-touchscreen limitations, can only be used for focusing
-only one uhs-2 slot

items 5: content: A couple months ago I decieded it was time to upgrade to a real camera, no more shooting on a smartphone. after doing a bit of research I landed on the A7III for its full frame sensor and autofocus system. And Im Impressed big time.
Coming from shooting portraits on a smartphone, this camera produces amazing results. The Full Frame sensor is no joke, Portraits are coming out really detailed, and if you know what you doing, the kit lens that comes with the camera can produced amazing results. I paired the camera with a Sony 35MM F1.4 Zeiss lens and a Sony F1.8 85MM lens and the results are just jaw dropping. The sensor reacts to light amazingly producing really natural colors, which makes my editing process in Adobe Lightroom more easier. In low light situations. I can bump up the ISO pretty high without worrying about noise. The Autofocus system works flawlessly, rarely does it fail to focus on my subject. Mostly shooting on the go and being a point and shoot photographer, having the shutter speed go as fast as 1/8000 second is amazing, you can grab some great images without panicking about your images being shaky and soft.
My only con is nothing but a first world issue. if you are one who has invested into lenses and frequently swaps them, beware that the sensor can get dirty pretty easily, especially when shooting out on the field. I think it would be cool add a mode that closes the sensor with the shutter while your swapping out the lens to minimize the debris from the touching the sensor. It be nice to not be frequently cleaning the sensor which can be a little scary. But once you understand the camera and know how to properly operate it, you won't find a flaw with the camera. it gets the Job done.
Overall this is an amazing camera trusted by professionals and amazing for anyone considering getting into photography.

items 6: content: This camera isn’t just a piece of gear—it’s the one. The Sony A7III makes me feel like a pro even when I barely know what I’m doing.
Here’s why I’m in love:
• Image Quality: Razor sharp. Beautiful color. It captures life better than my actual eyeballs.
• Low Light: I’ve taken night shots that look like they were lit by a full film crew. It sees in the dark like a raccoon with a PhD.
• Autofocus: Sticky, fast, reliable. I point, it locks, and I just pretend I meant to get that perfect shot.
• Battery Life: I thought mirrorless cameras were supposed to die in 10 minutes? Not this one. I’ve filmed, vlogged, and snapped for hours—still ticking.
I use it for photography, video, podcast content—you name it. It’s never let me down.
If you’re on the fence: don’t be. This camera doesn’t just take pictures—it elevates everything you create.
11/10: Would marry it if I could.

items 7: content: I absolutely love the Sony a7 III! It’s hands down one of the best cameras I’ve ever used. The image quality is stunning, especially in low light, and the autofocus is lightning-fast and super accurate. The full-frame sensor gives amazing depth and detail, whether I’m shooting portraits, landscapes, or video. The included 28-70mm lens is a solid starter—sharp and versatile for everyday use. Battery life is excellent for a mirrorless, and the body feels durable yet lightweight. This camera has totally elevated my photography and videography.

items 8: content: The A7iii is a fantastic camera. I mainly used the D500 but wanted something better for portraits. The IBIS is fantastic, being able to shoot at lower shutter speeds, handheld, and I'm still getting crisp photos is amazing. Higher ISO's are very good (as expected from a FF sensor).
Human and animal eye auto focus is fantastic. Having moved from cameras that didn't have eye AF, it feels like I'm cheating a little bit. Being able to focus on composition, and putting my trust into the camera to nail the autofocus on the eye is fantastic. I've noticed than while using eye AF I'm getting more keepers as well.
Now 2 cons that i personally am not a fan of (though not a deal breaker). I'm not really a fan of the menu's. Theirs tons of features, though finding many of those features are a little annoying, especially when changing some things on the fly during a shoot. I plan on configuring the camera to allow me to quickly change in-between different camera profiles that I frequently may end up using by mapping different profiles to different camera mappable buttons, which will hopefully resolve some of the frustrations of the menu.
Secondly, the lenses are pretty expensive. I'm hoping to add an 85mm f1.8 (opting for probably the budget Sony lens which is a little bit better price wise, instead of the f1.4).
Overall, I do really love this camera, and I definitely plan on using it so much more, highly recommended.

items 9: content: I just switched to the mirrorless family and I couldn’t have made a better choice than the Sony a7iii for my photo and video needs. The auto focus is quick and crisp, the photos are clear and sharp, and the price is right for all the features and functionality contained in this hybrid camera. You may want to also purchase the Sony 50mm 1.8 lens for studio or field portraits. Thanks.

items 10: content: This camera is fantastic. It is replacing my aging Canon EOS Rebel T6i, and it does that job well. The biggest benefit for me is the in-body stabilization (SteadyShot), which works perfectly for legacy and other non-stabilized lenses. The only thing is it's ridiculously configurable, so you need to spend time to create your own 'My menu', otherwise you can never find anything. But you can use it as-is and get fantastic pictures, or spend time, get deep, to make it your own. The Auto Focus system on this camera is truly amazing. Truthfully, if you overexpose or underexpose a couple of stops, no big deal, you can correct in post-processing easily. If your aperture is slightly off, no big deal, you may hardly notice. But if your focus is off, the photo is wasted and it is very difficult to notice until you load it to a computer to see. The auto focus system on this camera is very snappy and it is a huge leap for me compared to what T6i offers.

items 11: content: I had been a Nikon user since I was 13 or over 50 years so this move to Sony was both long in coming and difficult. In fact it was similar to my move to digital vs film which also took a while but I have never looked back. As I was moving from the D800 and D7200 cameras to the Sony I expected similar or better performance and usability. I have now had the camera for over 2 months and travel out of the country for 30 days having taken over 5000 pictures.
The a7iii has not only met my expectations but exceeded them on so many levels that I am criticizing myself for not making the move earlier. I have fitted the camera with a 24-105 f 4.0 lens and believe what it can do.
To begin with the weight has dropped considerably from the D800 with a 24-70 f2.8 lens so I am able to enjoy shooting more without the drag on my shoulder, arms and hand. I now go an entire day without the strain and pain I experienced before. You may question the move to a f 4.0 lens vs a 2.8 but I assure you with the spectacular high ISO performance of the Sony you do not need to worry. In fact with the D800 I hesitated to shoot above 1000 ISO and dreaded going above 3200. Now I have no hesitation in shooting up to 3200 and still love to results at 6000. In fact some interior shots made at 12,500 even were acceptable, maybe not for an enlargement, but for most other uses.
In addition I find the vibration control on the Sony to be far superior to the Nikon and I now feel comfortable shooting as low as 1/15 sec handheld. In fact I have set my minimum shutter speed at 1/60 sec and get results as good as I got with the Nikon set at 1/125 sec. Remember we have gone to a 105 mm lens from a 70 mm lens!
Auto focus is spot on and quicker than the Nikon and the eye recognition feature is beyond belief. I leave it on most of the time and it has let me not worry about focusing on the eye of my subject.
I have not used it with a moving subject such as a bird in flight but I do not expect any issues.
I have also found the dynamic range to be much better than on the Nikon and you don't fully appreciate it until you look through the viewfinder and understand what you are seeing. The display is very good and it renders my photos better than the Nikon did.
When I brought my photos into LR I could not believe the color rendition before any post processing. That combined with the better dynamic range has made the post processing operation easier.
The 24-105 Sony lens is great because it has a reach beyond my 24-70 Nikon which is helpful in some situations where you would like something extra. I have not been able to discern any major quality image results though I would expect the Nikon to perform slightly better. The question you need to ask yourself is how much better is the difference worth and will you actually be able to see the difference?
There are so many other things about this camera I love but my recommendation is just get it - I know you will not be disappointed. One very important note is that the Sony manual is almost worthless and totally beyond comprehension. In fact the Nikon manual is at the other end of the ease of learning spectrum from the Sony but stick with it. After you get a basic understanding you will be able to figure things out yourself rather easily. Clearly Sony needs major help in writing user friendly manuals for there cameras as this is the constant complaint I hear in all of my readings online. You can also find some good guidance to setting up the camera and usage on youtube.

items 12: content: This is A7iii is my second Sony camera. My other Sony is A77II. As much as I have enjoyed that camera it isn't even in the same realm. The images this camera produces are beautiful. I find the camera to be very user friendly with the exception of the menu system. I watched several videos on how to use/set the menu up and although those few hours were a bit dry did help me become confident in using the DEEP menu structure. The A7iii ability to gather light is nothing less than spectacular. The auto focus is as close to instantiations as seems possible as well as very accurate. I have not shot any video with it yet, so I will leave those functions to others to comment on. The body is a bit small for my hands especially when paired with the 24-70 2.8 GM lens which is my only lens as this time. I felt the need to purchase a third party grip right away since I didn't feel very confidant in the grip I had with the enormous lens. The ability to set custom functions to several buttons makes many common tasks easy. I do miss the fully articulating screen of my other camera but I usually use the EVF anyway. The A7iii and A7Riii both have some firmware issues at the time of this review which have caused me to be unable to view pictures I have taken in camera. Yes that is frustrating but having read several articles I believe Sony will be releasing a Firmware update in the next week or two which will fix this bug. This is the sole reason I didn't give this camera a 5 star review. The lack of an included dedicated charger, while annoying was not a major issue for me since I knew about it before purchasing my camera so ordered a charger at the same time. The menu structure while very DEEP allows a lot of customization which I appreciate. This camera allows the user to create their own menu for the settings which one most frequently uses and that is brilliant! I was disappointed Sony did not include a PC sync port on this camera but the Sony wireless adapter has one on it, so not a major problem. The battery life is better than any camera I have ever had including several Cannons I had before switching to Sony. All in all I am very happy with this camera and encourage anyone on the fence to give this wonder a shot.

items 13: content: From 2014-2015, I had the luxury of using a used Sony RX1, which was the first time I used both a Sony camera as well as a full frame sensor. I was blown away coming from a Canon Rebel XS. But the RX1 sadly broke by the end of 2015 and was not covered by warranty. So I settled for the Sony a6000 and 3 prime lenses based on my budget. That was a great system no doubt given the much better autofocus, remote capabilities and interchangeable lens options. But it just was not the same as the RX1's full frame sensor's dynamic range, low-light performance, and shallower field of depth. Granted, I could have gone instead with the new original Sony a7 that 2015 year, but given the limited lens options and the anticipated shortcomings of a 1st generation full-frame camera body, I figured it'd be better to wait till the technology matured and till I had a bigger budget. Then when then Sony a7iii came out, and with an infusion of cash from doing lots of portraits, I realized that the time to upgrade back to a full frame camera was much sooner than expected!
There are so many things I love about this camera: in-body stabilization, wide dynamic range, an on-switch that doesn't come on accidentally nearly as easily as the Sony a6000, silent shutter for the candid photography I've missed so much, fantastic auto focus, great battery life - I could go on. Combined with a mature native lens line-up in which I've saved up for 3 prime lens (28mm f/2, 55mm f/1.8, 85mm f/1.8), it's the most wholesome I've ever felt as a growing photographer.

These pro cameras are only worth it as long as u know what ur doing, bcus it is a huge learning curve. Even the kit lens that comes with it is amazing, but now I own MY Holy Trinity of lenses the Sony Gm 35mm f1.4, Sigma Art 85mm f1.4, & the Sigma 135mm f1.8 (eventually the Sony GM 70-200mm f2.8 OSSII) & once u get the big boy lenses u’ll realize how much of a workhorse this camera is! I’ve been doing events, portraits, full photoshoots, boudoir, Holiday, celebrity events & it’s been amazing! Everybody loves my work! I switched from a Nikon DSLR & I’m so happy I did! I’ll add some stills so u can see how good this lens is. I’m actually moving up to the Sony a7rIII now, but I’m still keeping the a7iii as a b-roll & second camera. items 15: content: Being able to buy the A7iii in 2025 offers an extremely capable full-frame camera option, that delivers significantly better value that most other mid-range cameras, that also tend to be APS-C only.
Despite its age, the A7iii still out performs a lot of the competition for autofocus, dynamic range and low light performance. The fact that it can be had brand new for under $2000 is amazing.
