detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: We had a real problem with our laundry and the use of a hot air dryer. We cannot vent the hot air outside as the entire wall is a glass sliding door, nor through the slab floor nor into the roof cavity (lower floor) and this caused the entire room to be full of dripping water after we had the dryer turned on for full cycles. Walls wet, roof wet, glass door dripping and fogged up. Just a lousy situation. Outside is really cold and clothes have no chance of drying off (think moist, cold, foggy, icy Yarra Ranges temperatures). Opening the Glass sliding door stopped the problem but let in the freezing air.
Had to try something and a bit of research yielded Dessicant Dehumidifers. Note "Dessicant", this is crucial to this situation as other dehumidifier types will not do this. After finding the right kind of dehumidifer for this situation (wasn't easy to do as the common - yet kind of related thing - that this machine does is dry wet clothes on a Laundry mode), so I went trawling brands. Not everyone has one, so the list was narrow. Looked at good reviews and ended up with this AusClimate one.
So far this machine has been incredible. Turn it on when you do the washing, leave it until the hot tumble dry finishes (wants a little time in there doing it's thing before you go straight to the dryer) and then there's absolutely nothing on the walls, roof or doors. All that wetness was sucked from the air and collected in the drawer at the bottom of the unit. This has been perfect for us. You can get smaller ones, but I opted on bigger to ensure the job gets done. It's reminiscent of a decent fan for noise and that's because in our case we have it on High rather than Auto or low just to make sure we got the results. Close the door and hear nothing. We have run it through 4-5 cycles and same results.
Extremely happy with this, have found no fault. Perhaps for some the size of this may be a problem, but we can stow it out of the way.

title: Incredible for laundry room moisture issues
detailedReviews 2: content: In Tasmania. I bought this as I had a different model 10 years ago from the same company that worked well but eventually stopped working. I tried this new type as it was cheaper, smaller and different technology.
I put it in an upstairs room that was cool as it didn’t get sun and wasn’t used very often but I didn’t consider it damp although the windows would get condensation and there was no mould. To my amazement over 3 days it pulled in nearly 20 litres of water! Where the hell that all came from is astonishing, I guess in the carpets, furnishing and woodwork and air. So suprised!
Needless to say it works very well. Other rooms, it collected a couple of litres at most over two days.
So I am very happy with it. Humidity level is now around 47% around the house which is healthy.
Totally recommend this company and product.
The tray is a little tricky to pull out as you have to lift the whole thing up so there is no weight on it, it it’s not worth knocking off a whole star for though.

title: Astonishing water removal in Tasmania
detailedReviews 3: content: After reading plenty of reviews and some research including other comments here, it was clear that desiccant dehumidifiers are the most suited to the winter dehumidifying. I had issues with condensation on the windows on the southern side of my house in winter, leading to mouldy windows sills. Upgrading bathroom exhaust fans and the kitchen range hood, and other (cheaper) attempts at solving the problem failed. I finally relented at spending the money, and very happy I did. Once I set it up in the worst affected room, it filled the container in about 4-5 hours. Emptying the container a few times in the first day. This immediately stopped condensation on the window in that room. Since then it has been running a majority of the time in various spots in the house, and running 24/7 for the first few weeks, with the time it takes to fill the container taking longer and longer.
The effective area I’m using it in is more than it’s specs suggest, but it doesn’t impact the results, it just takes longer.
Most importantly there is no longer an issue with condensation, and the mould problem is solved. The original cause of the dampness still needs to be discovered, but very happy at the performance of the machine.
I won’t go into all the features, but auto will turn the machine fan speed to low once humidity drops below a certain threshold. It will turn off the fan once humidity goes below a certain range.
Also there is no ongoing supply costs. I initially thought that these machines needed to be filled with desiccant like the disposable plastic moisturiser absorbers, but they don’t. You just need to plug them in. An ongoing maintenance cost was another reason I had held off on buying one, but I was completely wrong with my understanding of how they worked.

title: Solved window condensation and mould problems
detailedReviews 4: content: This works excellently. We have one at each end of the house and now our humidity reader is staying around 50% and we don't ever have wet windows on the cold winter mornings anymore, despite the house being large and these claiming to only be for one to two rooms. It is quick and easy to empty the water trays - we generally just do this morning and evening - it only takes 30 seconds. I am confident that we will no longer have problems with winter mould with these running. One of these is in my bedroom and I am able to sleep with the noise - it is like white noise and if anything has been helpful for sleeping. If I have it on auto setting and it has reached the desired humidity and keeps switching between low and high, this will wake me up, so if it is doing this when I go to bed I just change it to the low setting so it won't switch from one to the other. Highly recommend.

detailedReviews 5: content: Works great for use in the winter
The only issue was that it has a sensor which turns off the device once it reaches a certain humidity level
I found this set level to be too high, so I unscrewed the casing and soldered the terminals of the humidty sensor together
That way, the sensor always reads 100% humidty so it doesn't turn off. I'm then able to use the device on low which is the quietest mode. Definitely not quiet enough for a bedroom you're trying to sleep in, but I have it in the ensuite bathroom while I'm awake and that works well.
I bought this dessicant dehumidifier after I got a normal 25L Compressor model and it did nothing to reduce humidity. The 10L dessicant one doess infinitely more work.

detailedReviews 6: content: Can’t believe the amount of water that it collects! No more dripping windows in the morning!
I would not have bought it without the awesome review that my nephew gave me.
I'm very happy with mine - Ausclimate 10L Dessicant.
I researched the brand beforehand and they seem to have quality units & great customer service/replacement parts etc (not that I have needed them).
There are two types of dehumidifier - compressor and dessicant.
Compressor is best for warm climates, is louder and works best in temperatures above about 20 degrees. They come in larger capacities (tank size) and don't output much heat to the room.
Dessicant is quieter (main reason I chose dessicant!) and similar sound to an air conditioner blowing air out, works best in cooler climate (below ~20 degrees) and outputs more heat to the room. They come in smaller, more portable sizes.
I use mine in Autumn/Winter to combat heavy window condensation. I've been turning it on for 3 hrs and shutting my bedroom door before dinner. I collect 1.3 litres of water in that time and my room temp raises 4 degrees (which is great in Winter because my room is freezing cold). I use it to dry my clothes in rainy weather. Can set a timer to turn off automatically. I also have a hygrometer which alerts me when the humidity in my room raises above or below a set point (>80%). Can also set app alerts for the temperature from the hygrometer.

detailedReviews 7: content: I hadn't tried this brand before and bought it solely by reading previous reviews.
I'm very happy with it's performance, using it predominantly as a means to dry laundry. Very efficient and effective.
The only slight niggle is that the water tank is a bit awkward to get out. It is like a drawer and right at the bottom. So, you're using your knuckles as leverage against the floor to coax it free. However, it is getting easier. And it does have an interior "lid" on the tank, so if you slosh it only minimal water escapes. Plus there's a folding handle on the tank to help balance it as you carry and empty it.
I definitely recommend this dehumidifier. Very effective and efficient.

detailedReviews 8: content: Purchased the dehumidifier from Bunnings 8 days ago and couldn’t be happier with it. I first contacted Ausclimate for advice about which unit would best suit our needs, and Scott was very knowledgable and gave me lots of information. I found the 10L on sale and purchased it straight away, and have used it daily since then. We have been battling mould in our bathroom, lounge room ceiling (due to a leak) and on the bedroom windows in the colder months in Melbourne and was hoping this would be the solution we needed. It’s too early to tell if our house will remain mould-free, but so far, there has definitely been none on the bedroom windows, as the unit has eliminated most of the condensation in the mornings. Due to the noise, I haven’t run it overnight, but I have it running in the master bedroom in the evenings, and again once I get up in the mornings before I go out. It might be a coincidence, but I have also been sleeping much better since I got it. We have been using it to dry our washing, and it is great for that too. I move the unit around the rooms during the day, and empty the water into my garden. I definitely recommend this product and Ausclimate for anyone with similar problems.

detailedReviews 9: content: The old house in Melbourne we moved into had mould and no ceiling fan in our bathroom.
With the addition of the cool seasons “Demi” (We name our appliances) Getting out of the shower, the hottest showers, is an absolute pleasure.
Never would I have thought I could get into a warm dry bathroom after a shower.
This year I’ve put all of our clothes horses into our bathroom, which is quite a squeeze, and we are drawing our loads of washing in less than 24 hours, sometimes the same day.
We also use Demi in our rooms occasionally when our doona and blankets are starting to feel cold and moist.
As North Queenslanders who moved to Melbourne last year we really struggled with the weather, and not having ceiling fans in our house to easily dry our laundry. Demi has been a game changer.
According to the Powerpal app meter reader, Power usage is pretty good/low/Cost-effective.
If you live in Southern states and you want to draw your clothes, dry out your bedrooms, keep your bathroom dry and free of mould, I cannot recommend anything more highly.

title: Much better than old dehumidifier
detailedReviews 15: content: We live in the Blue mountains where winter can last up six months or more depending on the altitude. Our home is closed up for at least half the year to keep the warm in and the cold out, which produces an unpleasantly high level of humidity, produced by the occupants, by drying of washing in front of heat source, by constant rain outside, as well as by circulating moist air with ceiling fans. We decided to purchase an Ausclimate premium cool seasons dehumidifier, after much research, and based on the reviews we read, and the fact that we are dealing with an Australian company. We could not be happier with the results this dehumidifier has produced for us. We can now dry our washing inside, in a spare room, out of sight, knowing the machine will absorb all excess moisture and will leave our clothes completely dry while removing any excess moisture from the room. We no longer have any excess moisture in our rooms. The moisture in the air which, when circulated by the ceiling fans, causes an unpleasant cold draght, is eliminated as the dehumidifier reduces the moisture in the air, and the room temperature seem to increase, as any excess moisture is eliminated. We also no longer worry about the increased likelyhood of mould produced in a warm and moist environment which can cause significant damage to our health and possessions , and can be expensive to remove and repair. The Ausclimate cool seasons dehumidifiers has proved to be a real game changer for us in our quality of life, and the press down controls are easy to understand and are easy to use. From our experience we have found this company to be very pleasant, very helpful and very reliable to deal with. We would have no hesitation in recommending this product as well as this company.

detailedReviews 16: content: Over the last few years with more people at home during the day I have had an increase in moisture build up in my home. It has steadily been getting more noticeable with musty smells, mould developing in wet areas and rooms with lesser ventilation, and condensation on internal windows in the morning. After much research I chose this little unit and purchased last week. After only 2 days the difference in ambiance in my home has been remarkable. I have run the unit in various locations in the house. It is easy to move around and fairly inconspicuous. We have drawn litres of moisture from our cold damp house and it is now feeling warmer and much drier, the musty smell has almost disappeared, my constant wet cough has gone and there is no moisture inside on the windows in the morning after only 2 days. We have run it at night in our bedroom on low and although you can hear the unit run, the noise it makes is not an issue. Although I expect to be hit with a higher electricity bill this month, the extra cost of running this unit is definitely going to save me work cleaning and washing, not to mention an immediate improvement in general health from drier, cleaner air inside. I expect to run this unit more selectively down the track thus reducing electric consumption. It works very hard for the relatively small energy requirement it draws. I am very pleased with this appliance and would absolutely recommend it, it is certainly life changing and living in a cold climate, I am glad I chose the desiccant dehumidifier.

detailedReviews 17: content: This is a great unit - it really does draw the moisture out of the air very well & the fact it doesn't go into defrost like our Delonghi brand is brilliant. I've rated this a 4 as the tank is awkward to remove when it is full. You really have to pull it, and brace the back of the unit, and the handle to do this isn't in an easy location. By having to pull it quite hard, the water in the full tank spills out a bit. We do plan to buy another one for a different room though as it really is a good machine for it's size.

detailedReviews 20: content: I had been looking at dehumidifiers for a little while but especially after all the rain we had in Sydney over the summer I amped up my research. After looking online and speaking with some sales people in various stores I opted for the Ausclimate unit. Was happy to drive to Warrawong from Sydney to pick one up.
We have a fairly large full window room that gets quite a bit of condensation during the cooler months. Since running the unit over the past 3 weeks we haven't had one drop of moisture on the windows.
It has a laundry option on it too. I hang our washing on air drier in that room and not only does it dry the clothes in a 1/4 of time it used to take it also warms up the room. So much so that I've not needed to use my air conditioner yet.
I move the unit around the house sometimes putting it in bedrooms where doors have been sticking due to moisture in them. Doors are now closing perfectly.
I'm so surprised how much water it draws out. Our house normally doesn't suffer with mould but I did start to feel the couches always felt a bit damp. Not any more.
I also use it in the bathroom during the day after everyone's showers in the morning and hang their wet towels in there. They are all lovely and dry by the afternoon. Plus no water sitting in the shower recess to start mould in the grout.
So very happy with our purchase, have been recommending them to everyone I know.

detailedReviews 23: content: There was so much rainfall in Sydney in the last 2 years, that my newly purchased dehumidifier is both a necessity and a great investment to both our house and our health. It prevents mould, swelling wood panels, bubbling paint and stale unpleasant smells. It helps us breathe easier and sleep easier.
The Ausclimate dehumidifier is a light unit which I can move from our entrance hall to the kitchen or rumpus room, wherever the air seems damp. I bought it as it is recommended by CHOICE magazine.
Our house is relatively damp and dusty, as it’s located on a main road near the beach. Customer Service advised that we clean the filter regularly, say every 2 weeks to prevent clogging.
I will buy another Ausclimate unit for our small bathroom. The digital climate gauge (retails at $19.99) tells me if the room gets too humid. So handy!
Ausclimate customer service has been very helpful (and lovely) when I contacted them. It's a bonus.

detailedReviews 24: content: After quite a bit of research into what I needed for a cold climate solution, I settled on this particular model and am extremely happy with it. The compressor type of dehumidifiers do not work as efficiently in the the lower temperatures since their best operating temps are north of 15 degrees whereas our temps are usually around the single digit to barely double digits in Winter. I mistakenly thought that the 10L meant it removed that amount from the air, but the tray only holds 3L so that’s all it can accommodate, which takes longer to get the huge amounts removed, but is also much easier to carry and empty.
It works very well, does the job and is the equivalent noise level of a fan, so…very quiet operation. It’s simple to empty, approximately 3 L at a time and easy to move from room to room, using the handle. No wheels. It warms the room as it works and so far, no huge electric bills, although prices are due to rise, so that’s a wait and see game. Happy customer.

detailedReviews 26: content: We have had an old compressor dehumidi for years, pulls out 2L a day, and we though that was great until I discovered its inefficient in the cold climate we're in, our house drops to 8c overnight, struggles to get to 18 during the day with 5* gas central heating. I purchased this, as despite airing house every day, we have black mildew mould growing on new roller blinds, walls behind beds and in the cupboards. Well - as another reviewer said, where have you been all my life. 8L over 12 hours use, and bonus of heating the rooms. Pulling out 6L over daylight hours now, as house is a bit drier, but a rainy day re-dampens it, therefore I know this is just a daily necessity for the climate we're in during winter to ensure structual and furniture longevity.
It does increase teh power bill, we've gone from 8kWh a day to 22 - however its just the cost of maintaining a home and contents from mould.
Health bonus of nasal drips reducing, the damp, sweet smell coming from the gas central heating has diminished, and I just completely recommend.
Water drawer is a tad awkward to reinsert sometimes. Would buy again, and for everyone I knew if money was no object.

detailedReviews 28: content: I bought this product on the recommendation of my neighbour, and am glad I did. We both live rural Victoria with paddocks surrounding us, and moisture is a real problem. I would absolutely recommend the Ausclimate Cool Seasons dehumidifyer, as it draws so much moisture from the air, really helps with taking the freeze out of the room, and is quiet enough to have in your bedroom while sleeping. My kids and hubby are amazed at the amount of water that 'I' empty from the tank, although it is easy enough for a child/husband to empty. I move my unit around to all of our bedrooms, but plan on buying additional units in the future. Our bedrooms aren't heated, and it has changed the climate in our rooms, from moist winter freeze to comfortable and it makes our oil heaters much more effective, as they aren't battling with moist antarctic temperatures first, prior to heating. (There is also a laundry mode for additional drying) I was dreading having to change our windows to double-glazed, but couldn't afford 15K to do so, this unit has been an effective compromise. I highly recommend this unit and the after sales service has been great too.

title: Draws so much moisture, takes freeze out
detailedReviews 29: content: Does a great job in this cold winter. As noted, it's a not a quiet unit so I don't sleep with it on. On the low setting it kinda rattles a little bit - it's not a perfect monotonous noise like a good fan can be. I wouldn't use it like 'white noise' as I'm a light sleeper. Once the initial moisture removal was done I just put it on once or twice a day for 2 hours in my small unit and it keeps the bathroom and bedroom (where there isn't a heater) dry. It blows out warm air once it's been on in a room for a while. It's amazing how much water can be pulled out of the air.

detailedReviews 31: content: Hi, I have the Ausclimate 10 litre desiccant dehumidifier AU1910DD. My house is only small and closed most of the time. Every morning and every evening I empty the 3 litres of water from the dehumidifier. My house feels dry and clean, the clothes in my wardrobe are crisp and dry. There is no damp or musty smell inside the house. I highly recommend this product.
I also have the Winix zero + pro 5 air purifier. I purchased this product two years ago, just after open heart surgery. Sydney had much smoke in the air due to the bushfires and I had difficulty breathing. I had considered going to the local hospital for assistance with my breathing. I was able to purchase this air purifier. This air purifier really works, the smoke was no longer in the house and I could breathe easily. I have it turned on at all times. The air in my house is clean and fresh. There is less dust throughout the house. I highly recommend this product.
I have spoken to Michelle from Ausclimate on several occasions. The service she offers is superb. If you want a company that stands by its products, Ausclimate is the company. Not only do their products really work, the company is efficient and effective should there be a problem.
Please feel free to use my comments as a review of your products and company.

detailedReviews 33: content: I didn't think there was any way to save our leather lounges until I discovered this amazing machine. Our home is in a valley surrounded by large eucalypts, and as the sun tracks below the tree line we're in constant shade throughout winter. The family room windows are always covered in condensation and the lounges become a perfect breeding ground for white mould. We've tried using those small desiccant pots but they really struggled to keep up and were not suitable for the task. Nor were the two fans we blasted the lounges with day after day. After using the Ausclimate Cool Seasons Premium 10L Desiccant Dehumidifier for just one week we've already drawn bucketloads of water from the room. The lounges look and feel drier and the musty smells are disappearing. The is the perfect unit for the job and I have nothing but praise for this little marvel of engineering. I highly recommend it.

detailedReviews 34: content: All in all we LOVE IT! Very light. On low mode it’s quiet. On more powerful mode it’s a little noisy but nothing drastic, we have a different model/brand that’s way noisier. It did initially emit a horrible plastic smell, the booklet said it was normal and not harmful. The smell has gotten much better but still lingers. Gives me a headache if I’m in the same room with it for too long. Hoping the smell continues to disappear as I want to use it in winter in the room we are in.
Dried washing inside for us in 2 hours. Love the timer setting. And the tray is really easy to handle and empty.
Really looking forward to using it for washing and in our bedroom and office in the colder months as it suck’s up the humidity and it blows out nice warm air which will make the room temp more comfortable. Highly recommend.

We now have no mould! The humidity sits at around 55% but can be set lower. It has a laundry mode which will reduce the humidity lower with an addition of low heat. It’s fan can swing up or front and it fills its 3L tanks overnight. We run it overnight in our 4.3x9m tiny house. Perfect for winter. It is quiet and doesn’t take up too much space. But… I need to buy an external humidity sensor if u want to track this- this dehumidifier doesn’t have one built in. Overall perfect!

I did not use it often but if the internal humidity is relatively high or raining outside, I would turn it on in each room for 2 hours (set a timer). The removal rate of humidity of the appliance is gentle so I would not feel too dry. Because it is a desiccant dehumidifier I can use it throughout the year, its operating temperature range is between 1C-40C degree. Easy to maintain. I recommended 3 friends to buy this appliance.

detailedReviews 38: content: We bought this to keep on top of musty smell and ‘damp’ cold feeling clothes at our holiday cabin-attached van by the beach in Melbourne.
I almost bought the other type more available at good guys etc, until I read this one is better for our cooler temps.
Amazed at home much water came out, it filled overnight and more the next days.
I’m pleased we got the 10L not any smaller, even though m2 covers more than the space, so don’t need to empty so often. Still very compact and Light to carry to move around.
The cabin feels less damp and no more wet feeling clothes in the kids shelf tubs
The noise on max setting is ok overnight, until auto turn off when filled, I would not enjoy it on all night every night though. During the day it’s fine and the warm air is good for winter.

detailedReviews 39: content: Having recently bought a two bedroom Melbourne apartment I purchased the unit a few days ago to assist with dreadful window condensation (old windows/double brick apartment) after a recommendation from neighbours, and it’s been nothing short of brilliant.
No more condensation, and even though my apartment in no way smelt/felt damp I’ve left it running during the day and I’ve been amazed at how much water it’s extracting!! Full tank overnight (on low) and two full tanks a day. My mind boggles and I realise that moisture would have been settling somewhere over winter. Likely my carpets, soft furnishing and wardrobes. So hopefully I’m preventing issues.
Highly recommend, worth every cent. It’s a total workhorse yet compact and will be easy to store away in the warmer months.

I'm amazed at how much more efficient this one seems to be, and how quickly it dries out a room - and keeps it there. Although desiccant types of dehumidifiers have their downside/s, one of the things they draws me to them, is how they can heat a room. It is warm air, you can run it as a heater in the room too. It is surprised me a lot of moisture absorbed and feel inside the room different. My kids can breath better than before when sleeping. The noise is also not loud, if you keep away from you 2 meter in bed room, you can sleep peacefully. It is not so big, you can carry up and down the stair with the handle. Lastly I love this machine so much also the service here is amazing. I will come for the next deal. Thank you

detailedReviews 43: content: Don't be put off by the "cool climate" branding. Desiccating dehumidifiers are the best! Especially if you have mould, rising damp or flooding issues. They are better than heat pump dehumidifiers than taking moisture out of walls and furniture. This one has an operating range that goes all the way up to 40 degrees.
It's easy to use, easy to empty and pulls HUGE amounts of moisture out of your home. After having water over the weep holes in the recent floods this has been a total game changer. While insurance companies vacillate over what to do with our damp soaked home, we've been proactive in getting our home back to good health.
Really grateful to the people that make this great unit. Love love love.

detailedReviews 44: content: I selected this after reading the ratings and reviews on Choice. It is a fantastic dehumidifier that works extremely well. Not only does Orr remove the moisture from the room but refreshes the room so well. With all the rain we have had I am pleased with this purchase. A healthier and cleaner environment we have now. Always had a dehumidifier. growing up in the US but this is first we have had in Australia. Light enough to move from room to room, direction re control panel very easy to follow plus the drying option for hanging laundry is superb. We want to order a 2nd one as an option of running one in the house and the laundry room. It is not noisey so you can run it in the same you are in if you wish. We prefer not to and to close the door it runs as believe it is more efficient as it warms up the room.

detailedReviews 45: content: The machine absolutely reduces moisture! The cold Canberra morning it take about 4 hours to get rid of water on the windows. When I run it over night the tank is full.
Now for the unfortunate parts.
It's loud on high or low. The fan is quiet on low but the compressor(?) Makes a constant churning sound.
The lights are bright enough to be noticeable at night.
If you set a timer on, it will beep before turning off.
It warms up the room more than "taking the chill off" it's like a heater
All these are not suitable to run at night.
The pour water out of the tank it has a spout, but holes as well, so it doesn't pour out neatly (like into a can)
The auto function just stays on high, and rarely goes to low.. I wish there was a standby setting below low when optimal humidity is reached.
The loudness and lack of night mode makes this a hard purchase for over $500

detailedReviews 47: content: I live in a rental that doesn't have the greatest ventilation or exhaust fan for the bathroom. If I have a warm shower for more than 2 min, the entire bathroom becomes extremely damp.
I turn it on when I shower, and leave it running on the timer. This does a really great job of limiting the dampness, plus clears it up within 2 hours. I also haven't noticed a massive spike in my electricity bill.
The timer function is great, so if you need to shower before leaving for work in the morning, or shower before bed, you can just set the timer on and it'll turn itself off.
I only use it in my bathroom (which is fairly large), so not sure how it would go in a big open space. But I would definitely recommend it for singular rooms.
It also makes the room quite warm, a nice bonus for winter.

detailedReviews 48: content: We were recommended this product by a building biologist who assessed our home and discovered we had a mould issue, due to a poorly constructed building which was causing condensation build up during the cooler months. What can I say? This unit literally rips water from the air, furnishings and wherever else moisture hides. Specs say the unit can remove 10 litres a day and boy does it. In a few short days, our kids' bedroom has gone from being classed as a health hazard, to being mould and excess allergen free because of this product. It's simply amazing. It also has an awesome laundry drying function for when you need to hang washing indoors which can cause condensation and warms the room nicely meaning you don't need to run the heater as well.
I can't recommend this enough.

detailedReviews 51: content: I bought this to dry out my office over winter and guard against damp. I had a mould related illness (CIRS) from a previous water damaged workplace, so am super careful now. I’ve used the dehumidifier thrice so far and it does the job on the dry function and fine for my large 6x5m office. Easy to use. My only frustration is after turning it off and removing the water tray that water sometimes keeps dripping. So I recommend placing the system on a large plastic lid and using something to catch the drops while emptying. It’s left small amounts of water on the carpet which defeats the purpose of drying the room.

Now, I put it on just before getting into the shower and after the shower there is no steam to be seen. The walls are wet but I let it run for a couple of hours and the bathroom and towels are dry. I run it in each room and am amazed at how much damp is collected . I am so impressed with this. It is portable and easy to empty. detailedReviews 54: content: I was lucky to have bought this before the really crazy rain in NSW started, and it's been great for removing moisture from the house. Leaves the room smelling clean after a few hours' use. It does warm the room, but the reduced humidity helps alleviate the higher temp (I suffer pretty bad with humidity. Moved to western Sydney from coastal VIC and have struggled this summer). In closed rooms, it does a great job; in the open living areas, the effect is less noticeable until you pull out the water drawer and see how much it's collected. I definitely recommend this product. detailedReviews 55: content: I ordered 2 units on a Sunday and they arrived in regional NSW 2 days later. It was easy to set up and get going, just pulled out of box and wrapping, plugged in and turned it on. We have a 1 year old house with double glazed windows and we’re still getting large amounts of condensation on windows which we had to wipe regularly. Now with the dehumidifier going for about a week we haven’t had any since. We have one in our living room which is approx 150m3 and it seems to be handling it easy. We can easily watch tv with this going in the background. It measures about 48 dBa on an app on my phone. The second was in the hall near the bedrooms and whilst it doesn’t completely drying out all rooms they are remarkably better. I have placed on in a room approx 12m2 and it was quick to get from 58% to 37% humidity. The first few days we emptied the tank about 2-3 times a day. We are now down to 1-2 a day.
I would have no hesitation in recommending this unit.

Originally purchased for Golden Beach in Vic as the condensation there is very high in winter months and our Grandsons asthma seems worse when ever he comes. Couldn't be happier thinking we would get little to no water collection, were we surprised when we filled the container over 10 times. It did a fantastic job, now using at GB as well and still amazed at how much water it is collecting. Machine is very quiet and love the way it warms up the room. Also very happy with the customer service from Russel at Ausclimate even after the purchase. Would definitely recommend this unit.

The Ausclimate model is an enormous improvement on prior products. Its lightweight, easy to empty and does a great job. It has 13 features, love the smell of my rooms after use and the laundry feature is the best of all! My unit has been borrowed by a daughter, whose son had a leaking fish tank, what a difference it made to his room after two cycles. She is also buying one. After thinking about it for many years but not knowing which machine was the right one for my environment I phoned Ausclimate and Peter called back quickly to answer all my questions and explain what the machines do. He was so helpful I ordered two for two downstairs south facing rooms. Thirty years of wet windows and damp gone within days, water collected by the litres. Such a change, our family room now actually feels warm and dry. The improvement was so great I purchased another three machines for my upstairs south facing rooms. My chronic inflammation has improved, no more mould. Wish I had have purchased these machines years ago. Thank you Peter and Ausclimate

We have had a major leak resulting in black mould in the walls (from compromised waterproofing in shower recess) and sustained pretty major damage to our walls through into our walk-in robe and carpet. Walls have been removed as well as the custom cabinetry due to damage :-( But let me say, this machine has removed an incredible amount of moisture from the room. I seem to be continually emptying it. But that's exactly what we need. TBH we didn't think it would be as excellent as it is but I would 1 million percent recommend this brand to anyone. We were lent one (a diff brand) but it doesn't even come close to the Ausclimate one. PS with all of this rain around too its excellent for the laundry as well.

After realising our bedroom has high humidity levels, esp in winter (24hr variation of 60-75%), and Dr Google telling me that humidity was likely the issue, I purchased this. On day 1 it extracted 1L of water every 2 hrs and the room humidity has dropped to 30% and maintained at that on low setting. My cold/cough went within two days and my sinus problems have also evaporated!
I should’ve purchased this sooner! On low setting the unit runs quietly and no issues with sleep.

detailedReviews 77: content: Works well and quietly. Easy to use. Compact and easy to move around. As a desiccant dehumidifier it does produce warm air, and in addition to reducing the humidity, will warm small room (by a few degrees) or take the chill off a medium space. Well suited to our older home that is more often cold than hot. It was used daily (8-12hrs) in recent wet months and helped prevent the reoccurrence of mould, and rooms felt fresh. Recent power bills (after months of use) support the estimate that it probably costs around $1 a day to run.

Easily portable and the sweep air louvre is good for aiming the dry air where you want it (e.g. into a wardrobe). But the best thing about this desiccant dehumidifier is that it will work equally well in cold weather, so we can use it all year round, unlike larger refrigerant dehumidifiers which only work effectively in hot humid conditions. However, even though it worked well for a while, it ended up stopping working after a couple of years. I had only ever used it intermittently up at a ski apartment. So it wasn’t used year round at all. When I contacted the manufacturer about whether I could get it serviced, they said they don’t service their products, and I’d have to go elsewhere. No idea where I’d go. They were disinterested at best. Quite disappointed that I’ll have to throw it out when there’s nothing outwardly wrong with it. detailedReviews 93: content: Purchased the AU1910DD from Kogan a year ago for $469.
On the high setting it seems to perform quite well at reducing humidity, according to my humidity meter. Clothes are effectively dried indoors in winter, and it helped dry my carpets after steam cleaning. The room is slightly warmed and left with a slight fragrance, which I would describe as a slightly metallic smell.
The noise level on the high setting is about what you would expect -- similar to a split system air con. So not particularly quiet, but not obnoxious either.
Oddly, the low mode may be subjectively worse in terms of noise, even if its decibel level may be lower. There are other reviewers mentioning this as well. I suspect it might be due to the lower fan speed causing some turbulence inside the housing. It sounds a bit like a whining noise ("woooo") and is audible even from an adjacent room with the door closed. This whining noise is not present on the high mode. A possible solution might be a firmware update to run the fan slightly faster on the low setting to try and get it out of that turbulence band. If anyone from Ausclimate is reading this, feel free to send me an experimental firmware with a faster fan speed in low mode!
Fortunately the high mode is the one you'll probably be using most of the time as the low mode isn't really powerful enough for reducing high humidity rooms in a reasonable timeframe. Low mode seems more geared towards running all day to prevent humidity levels from increasing, rather than actually decreasing humidity.
Power consumption on high mode is about 650w until it reaches target humidity of around 40%, which can take many hours every day. Low mode is about 350w.
After turning the unit off, it goes into a cool down fan-only mode for a couple minutes which I guess is supposed to complete before you can unplug it and move it to another room.
Overall: performs well, but the low mode is too noisy. A bit pricey, but I don't see any better options on the market.

detailedReviews 96: content: I found this model works well for the first 2 years, then starts working slower and slower. I suspect the desiccant degrades over time. My first one was replaced under warranty and after a second go with the same result it’s hard to recommend. Unfortunately I was unable to get Ausclimate interested in finding the root cause, this is a disposable item and they have no parts or ability to repair. Sorry planet earth. After more research and paying for the Choice dehumidifier review, I learned desiccant models are expensive to run, and if your home is heated to 18-20 degrees you can save with a refrigerant model. Cost to run and noise levels are key buying considerations as dehumidifiers take all day to fill the water tank in cool climates. If you sort the Choice list by ‘Cost to remove 10L of water’ you can easily identify an affordable, efficient and quiet model – with up to 6 years warranty, selling for under $400.

1. It's normally quite quiet and you get used to the constant white noise, until it's been running for a while (say, over an hour) and then it starts making this intermittent 'humming' noise that is louder and annoying. Usually makes us turn it off if we're in the same room.
2. I've been shocked several times unplugging it!!!! I don't know why that would be, but I've learned to be super careful not to accidentally have exposed skin anywhere near the metal part of the plug while unplugging it because goodness it's not pleasant to get that electric shock!!!
