detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: We had a real problem with our laundry and the use of a hot air dryer. We cannot vent the hot air outside as the entire wall is a glass sliding door, nor through the slab floor nor into the roof cavity (lower floor) and this caused the entire room to be full of dripping water after we had the dryer turned on for full cycles. Walls wet, roof wet, glass door dripping and fogged up. Just a lousy situation. Outside is really cold and clothes have no chance of drying off (think moist, cold, foggy, icy Yarra Ranges temperatures). Opening the Glass sliding door stopped the problem but let in the freezing air.
Had to try something and a bit of research yielded Dessicant Dehumidifers. Note "Dessicant", this is crucial to this situation as other dehumidifier types will not do this. After finding the right kind of dehumidifer for this situation (wasn't easy to do as the common - yet kind of related thing - that this machine does is dry wet clothes on a Laundry mode), so I went trawling brands. Not everyone has one, so the list was narrow. Looked at good reviews and ended up with this AusClimate one.
So far this machine has been incredible. Turn it on when you do the washing, leave it until the hot tumble dry finishes (wants a little time in there doing it's thing before you go straight to the dryer) and then there's absolutely nothing on the walls, roof or doors. All that wetness was sucked from the air and collected in the drawer at the bottom of the unit. This has been perfect for us. You can get smaller ones, but I opted on bigger to ensure the job gets done. It's reminiscent of a decent fan for noise and that's because in our case we have it on High rather than Auto or low just to make sure we got the results. Close the door and hear nothing. We have run it through 4-5 cycles and same results.
Extremely happy with this, have found no fault. Perhaps for some the size of this may be a problem, but we can stow it out of the way.

title: Incredible for laundry room moisture issues
detailedReviews 2: content: In Tasmania. I bought this as I had a different model 10 years ago from the same company that worked well but eventually stopped working. I tried this new type as it was cheaper, smaller and different technology.
I put it in an upstairs room that was cool as it didn’t get sun and wasn’t used very often but I didn’t consider it damp although the windows would get condensation and there was no mould. To my amazement over 3 days it pulled in nearly 20 litres of water! Where the hell that all came from is astonishing, I guess in the carpets, furnishing and woodwork and air. So suprised!
Needless to say it works very well. Other rooms, it collected a couple of litres at most over two days.
So I am very happy with it. Humidity level is now around 47% around the house which is healthy.
Totally recommend this company and product.
The tray is a little tricky to pull out as you have to lift the whole thing up so there is no weight on it, it it’s not worth knocking off a whole star for though.

title: Astonishing water removal in Tasmania
detailedReviews 3: content: After reading plenty of reviews and some research including other comments here, it was clear that desiccant dehumidifiers are the most suited to the winter dehumidifying. I had issues with condensation on the windows on the southern side of my house in winter, leading to mouldy windows sills. Upgrading bathroom exhaust fans and the kitchen range hood, and other (cheaper) attempts at solving the problem failed. I finally relented at spending the money, and very happy I did. Once I set it up in the worst affected room, it filled the container in about 4-5 hours. Emptying the container a few times in the first day. This immediately stopped condensation on the window in that room. Since then it has been running a majority of the time in various spots in the house, and running 24/7 for the first few weeks, with the time it takes to fill the container taking longer and longer.
The effective area I’m using it in is more than it’s specs suggest, but it doesn’t impact the results, it just takes longer.
Most importantly there is no longer an issue with condensation, and the mould problem is solved. The original cause of the dampness still needs to be discovered, but very happy at the performance of the machine.
I won’t go into all the features, but auto will turn the machine fan speed to low once humidity drops below a certain threshold. It will turn off the fan once humidity goes below a certain range.
Also there is no ongoing supply costs. I initially thought that these machines needed to be filled with desiccant like the disposable plastic moisturiser absorbers, but they don’t. You just need to plug them in. An ongoing maintenance cost was another reason I had held off on buying one, but I was completely wrong with my understanding of how they worked.

title: Solved window condensation and mould problems
detailedReviews 4: content: This works excellently. We have one at each end of the house and now our humidity reader is staying around 50% and we don't ever have wet windows on the cold winter mornings anymore, despite the house being large and these claiming to only be for one to two rooms. It is quick and easy to empty the water trays - we generally just do this morning and evening - it only takes 30 seconds. I am confident that we will no longer have problems with winter mould with these running. One of these is in my bedroom and I am able to sleep with the noise - it is like white noise and if anything has been helpful for sleeping. If I have it on auto setting and it has reached the desired humidity and keeps switching between low and high, this will wake me up, so if it is doing this when I go to bed I just change it to the low setting so it won't switch from one to the other. Highly recommend.

detailedReviews 5: content: Works great for use in the winter
The only issue was that it has a sensor which turns off the device once it reaches a certain humidity level
I found this set level to be too high, so I unscrewed the casing and soldered the terminals of the humidty sensor together
That way, the sensor always reads 100% humidty so it doesn't turn off. I'm then able to use the device on low which is the quietest mode. Definitely not quiet enough for a bedroom you're trying to sleep in, but I have it in the ensuite bathroom while I'm awake and that works well.
I bought this dessicant dehumidifier after I got a normal 25L Compressor model and it did nothing to reduce humidity. The 10L dessicant one doess infinitely more work.

detailedReviews 6: content: Can’t believe the amount of water that it collects! No more dripping windows in the morning!
I would not have bought it without the awesome review that my nephew gave me.
I'm very happy with mine - Ausclimate 10L Dessicant.
I researched the brand beforehand and they seem to have quality units & great customer service/replacement parts etc (not that I have needed them).
There are two types of dehumidifier - compressor and dessicant.
Compressor is best for warm climates, is louder and works best in temperatures above about 20 degrees. They come in larger capacities (tank size) and don't output much heat to the room.
Dessicant is quieter (main reason I chose dessicant!) and similar sound to an air conditioner blowing air out, works best in cooler climate (below ~20 degrees) and outputs more heat to the room. They come in smaller, more portable sizes.
I use mine in Autumn/Winter to combat heavy window condensation. I've been turning it on for 3 hrs and shutting my bedroom door before dinner. I collect 1.3 litres of water in that time and my room temp raises 4 degrees (which is great in Winter because my room is freezing cold). I use it to dry my clothes in rainy weather. Can set a timer to turn off automatically. I also have a hygrometer which alerts me when the humidity in my room raises above or below a set point (>80%). Can also set app alerts for the temperature from the hygrometer.

detailedReviews 7: content: I hadn't tried this brand before and bought it solely by reading previous reviews.
I'm very happy with it's performance, using it predominantly as a means to dry laundry. Very efficient and effective.
The only slight niggle is that the water tank is a bit awkward to get out. It is like a drawer and right at the bottom. So, you're using your knuckles as leverage against the floor to coax it free. However, it is getting easier. And it does have an interior "lid" on the tank, so if you slosh it only minimal water escapes. Plus there's a folding handle on the tank to help balance it as you carry and empty it.
I definitely recommend this dehumidifier. Very effective and efficient.

detailedReviews 8: content: Purchased the dehumidifier from Bunnings 8 days ago and couldn’t be happier with it. I first contacted Ausclimate for advice about which unit would best suit our needs, and Scott was very knowledgable and gave me lots of information. I found the 10L on sale and purchased it straight away, and have used it daily since then. We have been battling mould in our bathroom, lounge room ceiling (due to a leak) and on the bedroom windows in the colder months in Melbourne and was hoping this would be the solution we needed. It’s too early to tell if our house will remain mould-free, but so far, there has definitely been none on the bedroom windows, as the unit has eliminated most of the condensation in the mornings. Due to the noise, I haven’t run it overnight, but I have it running in the master bedroom in the evenings, and again once I get up in the mornings before I go out. It might be a coincidence, but I have also been sleeping much better since I got it. We have been using it to dry our washing, and it is great for that too. I move the unit around the rooms during the day, and empty the water into my garden. I definitely recommend this product and Ausclimate for anyone with similar problems.

detailedReviews 9: content: The old house in Melbourne we moved into had mould and no ceiling fan in our bathroom.
With the addition of the cool seasons “Demi” (We name our appliances) Getting out of the shower, the hottest showers, is an absolute pleasure.
Never would I have thought I could get into a warm dry bathroom after a shower.
This year I’ve put all of our clothes horses into our bathroom, which is quite a squeeze, and we are drawing our loads of washing in less than 24 hours, sometimes the same day.
We also use Demi in our rooms occasionally when our doona and blankets are starting to feel cold and moist.
As North Queenslanders who moved to Melbourne last year we really struggled with the weather, and not having ceiling fans in our house to easily dry our laundry. Demi has been a game changer.
According to the Powerpal app meter reader, Power usage is pretty good/low/Cost-effective.
If you live in Southern states and you want to draw your clothes, dry out your bedrooms, keep your bathroom dry and free of mould, I cannot recommend anything more highly.

title: Game changer for drying laundry indoors
detailedReviews 10: content: Living in apartment in Melbourne, I never heard of dehumidifier. I was wiping down windows and glass doors every morning in winter, and I didn’t understand why my carpet was soaking wet every morning or why my luggage was moulded. I was really stressed about it and getting fed up, One randomly day on ig. I was in a comment section on a video about mould and someone commented “get a dehumidifier “ I quickly searched it. OMG! What a life saver! Thank you who ever invented dehumidifier!! Thank you Ausclimate. Me and my family think it’s the best thing we ever got. I happily have 2 of these. Amazing
