snippets: when it comes to battery life it is fantastic particularly in standby mode like every Android phone I've tested over the last 12 months it's comically good when it's not doing anything you know you'll put it down leave it for a couple of days and it's lost two or three percentage points it's absolutely nuts in terms of using it at the moment it's got 87% battery remaining and according to the operating system that means there's 2 24 hours left in the tank I think that's conservative to be honest again I don't do benchmarks with batteries but my experience is that you can get well over 2 days with this thing, when it comes to hyper OS 2 which is xiaomi's version of Android I'm going to level with you I just think it feels like every other version of Android that I've used again over the last 12 months I know there's a lot of people who have their their favorites I completely get that and there are differences but most of those differences relate to things like the way icons look and the way that you navigate the system and these days AI features and all that sort of stuff but I struggle to compare the hyper OS 2 in this to let's say honors operating system or even one ui7 from Samsung they all feel incredibly similar and the good news is incredibly brilliant and yes this has got all the AI features that you would expect which I won't go into now because I just don't find them that interesting but they you know they are there they're on the xiaomi 15 happy days for me it's the combination of that chip the Snapdragon 8 Elite and Hyper OS 2 which make this an incredible performer sorry and that battery life which is ridiculous

snippets: ultrasonic fingerprint reader very good let me demonstrate that I mean it works every single time that's a welcome change from the optical from before but it was not really that bad it still worked about nine out of 10 times this is now about a 10 out of 10 time with the ultrasonic much better of course so charge rate 90 wats still very good still the same as last year 50 watt Wireless same as last year build same as last year look of it same as last year and I believe the ultra wide and the main camera are the same as last year but the zoom camera downgraded so instead of the 3.2 times that we had from before three times Optical it is now 2.6 times optical zoom and that's a little bit of a disappointment there so a downgrade there we have Android 15 now and Hyper OS to Performance is great with the global ROM version of it is excellent so there's no micro SD card reader no 3.5m head headphone jack yes we already kind of know that they don't give us that anymore with flagships and it's been like that for years great flat lbo screen that is AMOLED and it's really nice to use and the performance is great with everything a good decent set of cameras here so very minimal upgrades is it enough to entice buyers to go and get the global version of the 15 I think it's a solid phone it's very good don't get me wrong but if you can get yourself the xiaomi 14 for a lot cheaper I'd say go for that if you don't mind taking a little bit of a hit with the battery life that's the big change is the bar life on the newer version here being much larger is a lot better and an excellent size of 5,400 Mah hours for a 6.36 in sized more compact flagship phone here so thanks a lot for watching my review of the xiaomi 15 Global version

So you need to enable developer options then dig in quite a bit. Then you also get the option to set them to adaptive which I guess also works. So that is literally the catch in the audio., Now, I can't really criticize Xiaomi on this. If you're turning on Dolby Vision, you are expected to know how to process those footages since they are not in broadcastable color space. But over the internet, it is very difficult to find even one tutorial on how to do it.

It's probably entirely a software thing (or the OIS is simply not fit for purpose), but most of these Chinese OEM's have the same problem for years and years and years and they don't do anything about it, and there's zero reason to believe they'll address it in a software update, because they haven't for any previous device. To this day, even the Huawei Pura 70 has the same annoying judder during movement, which is absurd given how much focus they put on huge camera modules and still photography. (Also the bitrate is actual balls and you can't increase it to reasonable levels with the default camera, and GCam recordings are ehhhhhh).
I wanted to trade in my Pixel 9 Pro XL, but with both of these phones in hand right now... gawd dammit, video recording is such a downer, and it shouldn't be because on paper the hardware is great.

snippets: so the camera set up on the rear we have 3 50 megap cameras so an ultrawide our main camera and then a telephoto Zoom one now this is 2.6 times the optical zoom there you may you may see it advertised as a three times camera but in fact it's Optical at 2.6 there so a little bit of a downgrade compared to the shiai 14 which is a bit unfortunate there in the Square camera module now there is a sensor within here too we got a color Spectra sensor and a autofocus laser there to assist it, no micro SD card reader no 3.5m head headphone jack yes we already kind of know that they don't give us that anymore with flagships and it's been like that for years great flat lbo screen that is AMOLED and it's really nice to use and the performance is great with everything a good decent set of cameras here so very minimal upgrades is it enough to entice buyers to go and get the global version of the 15 I think it's a solid phone it's very good don't get me wrong but if you can get yourself the xiaomi 14 for a lot cheaper I'd say go for that if you don't mind taking a little bit of a hit with the battery life that's the big change is the bar life on the newer version here being much larger is a lot better and an excellent size of 5,400 Mah hours for a 6.36 in sized more compact flagship phone here so thanks a lot for watching my review of the xiaomi 15 Global version

snippets: The low light performance is fantastic as well it does struggle a little bit when you start zooming in but to be honest if you keep it at 1X you know once it starts getting dark or you're taking photos in dimly lit rooms it does a brilliant job I keep saying it does a brilliant job it's fantastic this is a brilliant camera system when it comes to video it shoots up to 8 K which is absolutely nuts I'm more interested in 4k and it's a very good 4K shooter I think the imagery here is really nice it's very usable I would use this for this channel if I needed to shoot some b-roll with my phone I would use the xiaomi 15 that's the litus test for me and well there's none of that weird Android jitteriness that you get with the stabilization either it seems to be almost on a par with the iPhone when it comes to video

snippets: so because we don't have a charger included I have to use my own one and you can use other chargers that support power delivery but I the xiaomi charger which did give me the 90 wats maximum that it is able to do here so that's a bit of a step down from other flagships we saw from xiaomi that were 120 they're sticking with the 90 wats now for their for obvious reasons maybe to do with the longivity of the battery but anyway it took 46 minutes which I think is reasonable but that's not breaking any records compared to what we've seen again previously from the much quicker rates of about say 24 minutes but it's all right anything in my books under an hour as a very good charge rate so a lot faster than other brands like Samsung and Apple of course, so alongside the release of these two tablets that have gone Global now the xiaomi pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro we have the xiaomi 15 and really it's like the xiaomi 14 they've upgraded just a few things we have now an ultrasonic fingerprint read instead of optical a battery capacity this is the big Improvement which is now 5,400 Mah hours it's a silicon carbon battery still got the 90 wat charging and the wireless 50 W charging and the chipset so it's a Snapdragon 8 Elite so that's an upgrade from the previous model so is it enough to entice buyers to get the global version of this xiaomi 15 and what does xiaomi include in the box with the xiaomi 15 well not a lot as you'll see here we do get at least a case and a charging cable bit of paperwork just behind that the phone obviously but that's it there's no charger included in the box at least with this version that I got of the global model so it's great to have a flagship small phone because most phones are pretty big now but this is 6.36 in which some will still probably say is a little on the big size but for 2025 and the way flags are this is actually nice to have a smaller size GE I wouldn't call it super compact but it's pretty good here
