snippets: but this HP vicus for the money the specs the CPU the GPU the SSD the ram combo for the money in this price range was the best that I found you'll find plenty of deals that are more expensive lower but in this range the $700 range right at 700 bucks this was the best one and today we're going to take a look at it so what does this entail this is the victus uh you got the whole number right there but we have an AMD ryzen 7 8845 HS Apu that's a zen4 chipset 1 tbte SSD 16 GB ddr5 Ram Windows 11 this is a 15.6in IPS uh display 144 Hertz we do have an RTX 460 uh 8 GB GPU 70w hour battery so yeah specs wise 700 bucks I mean I'm finding stuff that's 700 bucks that doesn't even come anywhere near this there's stuff that's like 450 bucks that doesn't come anywhere near it there's stuff that's $1,000 that's not even like as good as this you know build so yeah I wanted to check it out that's what we're going to be doing so let's unbox this thing get it set up you know see what it's capable of right but I I thought yeah you know looking around this deal was pretty damn good so I found this at a Micro Center you're going to have to check you know online with them or just you know search this particular model number maybe other places will uh match this uh this deal but uh let's get this thing out I've never bought a vicus before as far as gaming laptops go I've had a few in the past I've had a Asus uh I think one of my kids I've bought like an Acer I've had a Lenovo way back in the day I had an alien wear but I've never had uh an HP so here is our power supply, but yeah this is looking good let me uh let me shoot something right I mean I guess just some some some random pedestrians oh crap oh oh oh oh my bad I guess I'm going to die here or not or yes okay Moving on but looking great and this is what I was talking about with the HP little performance thing you have a performance control panel within the omen gaming Hub uh you could change to eco quiet mode for the fans default or performance then you do have fan uh speed control Auto or Max Speed a lot of little things you can change within here little optimizers and whatnot but yeah just wanted to point that out real quick a little balers Gate 3 early in the game just loaded a old save uh have frame generation on as well without frame generation uh I had it at high Ultra kind of a mixture between the two on certain settings you double your frames with frame generation so I was getting like 70 FPS now I'm at like 120 to 140 um with frame generation on so it's looking good I mean this very capable laptop I could sit here all day long showcasing tons of different games uh it's it's gonna you know play most things just fine it it's a reasonably priced PC is what my point is for a gaming laptop you could go crazy spend thousands of dollars getting a high-end thing if you just want like a a nice budget gaming PC if you can grab this and that's what you want is just something in that price range $700 I highly recommend it highly recommend it yeah let me know what you guys think I brought this up the other day and I hey made the Trek out to Micro Center which took the whole day driving out there it's like a two-hour drive to get there and then like a five hour drive back because of traffic it's freaking nuts man but uh yeah appreciate you guys bye

snippets: now one thing i really really enjoy about this laptop is the ability to easily upgrade it you just go ahead flip it over take off the bottom panel and you have access to both ram sticks and two m.2 drives so it's a quick upgrade you can take this laptop from maybe a stock eight gigs of ram that you purchase it with if you're balling on a budget and then as you get a little bit more money down the road you can upgrade it to 16 or 32., if you're a video editor or somebody working on architecture or 3d modeling 16 gigs of ram and 32 gigs of ram is where i would go with this laptop if you have to buy it at 8 gigs when you're just getting started i understand but i think you will be disappointed in the long run if you have an 8 gig ram laptop trying to do some heavy lifting on video editing or 3d modeling tasks or even after effects for that sake i mean sometimes the after effects benchmark won't even run from puget systems if it's below 16 gig so just keep that in mind

snippets: well yeah the keyboard over here is decent in my opinion so you've got I guess kind of smallish Keys over here because of the more compressed layout of the 15-inch form factor I've never been a big fan of the font that HP uses with their gaming laptop that's a personal preference no hate there and then you'll also notice the keyboard is fully back lid which is nice and it's quite bright mind you you also get the inclusion of a full-size 10 keypad so great for productivity and then you also have that artificial speaker Grill on the top it's not actually a speaker Grill it's not even a passive cooling vent it's just HP doing HP design things, now as far as the actual typing experience goes I'm happy to report you get a decent amount of key travel and a decent am of tactility as well it's not going to be the best keyboard you've ever used but for gaming purposes as well as general productivity it's pretty good
