detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: I bought this recently due to its recent popularity on the internet. I have also purchased the corale and the air wrap, both huge fans of, however I was looking for something easier than the air wrap that didn’t require me constantly changing accessories to achieve a straight blow dry, in combination with the corale. On the regular basis, I enjoy styling my hair as a straight blow dry. At first I was a bit skeptical, was it really possible to go from wet to dry STRAIGHT hair, and indeed it was. What would normally take me at least a few go’s with a round brush on my air wrap now only takes around 2 swipes as you would a straightener to not only blow dry my hair, but simultaneously straighten aswell. Clenching the two plates together to double as a blow dryer was also another bonus onto this. I also enjoyed the functions where you can blow dry straight not just being restricted to dry but also wet hair and temperature to vary from hot to cold. I also enjoyed the fact that it detects motion and realises that when it’s not being used, automatically enters into a power saving pause mode instead of turning off the device and on again per break, which can be tedious and frustrating. Also, when the device is first turned on it enters a cleaning mode for about 3 seconds before it is ready for use which is convenient as it saves from manual cleaning. I honestly cannot recommend this product enough and find myself reaching for this more than anything else out of my hair tools to achieve an effortless blowout in 5 minute for thick long wavy hair, and has also captured the attention of many of my friends who enjoy utilising it aswell and are fascinated by the results too!

detailedReviews 2: content: I bought this to only pass it on after 5months of usage.
I really thought this would be the ideal device for keeping my hair straight and kempt through the day.
My hair type includes long, thick, frizzy and wavy hair texture.
Pros of dyson airstrait
1. Kept my hair straight most parts of the day, was a little wav by the end of the day.
2. Dual function of a hair dryer and a straightener is indeed helpful if I only wanted to dry my hair and not straighten it.
3. Beautiful device and colour
4. Absolutely innovative design
Cons of the dyson airstrait
1. Price is exorbitant (but then again so are most dyson products)
2. It takes some getting used to its weight. The airstrait isnt too heavy but neither is it light. So it does takes some endurance and strength to use the device when getting through the whole head of hair.
3. It takes very long to straighten my hair evenly straight because it requires doing it in sections since the airstrait can only straighten a small amount of hair at a time. So it is time consuming to do it everyday after my hair wash, which event led me to not look forward to drying/straightening my hair after a bath.
4. Despite its non heat damage feature being a top feature; there is still heat in the hot air blowing at your hair! For straightening to be more effective, higher temperate settings is required if not you’ll be setting it at a lower temperature setting but straightening the same amount of hair a few times which becomes more time consuming.
5. Because of the high temperature of the hot air blowing, my hair was still slightly damaged after 5months of usage despite adding heat protectant cream.
6. Not evenly straightened hair after every usage. It was difficult for me to find a rhythm with this device because at times, my hair remained straight through the most of the day, sometimes my hair gets wavy faster or is not evenly straighten which is frustrating. So that meant, using higher temperature settings and adding more passes at the same section of the hair (which made my hair very hot when touched!)
7. The major con is the high hair loss I had through the 5months which got me very worried. My husband and I noticed a lot more hair on the floor after every usage of the device because the nature of the device is to pull the hair downwards and blowing hot air downwards. So the more passes = more hair loss. So by the 5th month, I decided that usage of the airstrait is not good for my hair health for the long run.

title: I bought this to only pass it on...
detailedReviews 3: content: I have been using the Dyson Airstrait for a month now so feel ready to share my thoughts. I’ll start off by saying I have no regrets buying this, but it may not be for everyone and I’ll explain why. As someone who owns the Dyson air wrap and rarely uses it because of how time consuming it is and how frizzy it makes my hair no matter what I do, I was super sceptical when it came to buying the AirStrait, worried about the frizz and whether I’d just end up having to go over my hair again with a hot iron. I did not need to worry because the Dyson airstrait is amazing, it has my hair from wet to perfectly sleek and straight in 10-15 mins (depending on how much effort I put it). I am so happy that I never need to use my hot iron again or pick up my hair dryer too. It works great on dry hair too for the day after when you want to touch your style up!
The reason I say this may not be for everyone is because the device is obviously very one dimensional in the sense that it can only deliver sleek poker straight hair. For me, I love that look, but for others they may not. You can’t even get a flick or a nice curve with the airstrait and it can make hair look flat/gives my hair no volume at all (for me I like).
Another pro but also a con in a way, is that the airstrait makes my hair soooo soft that i can’t do anything else with it as it won’t hold any other style on days 2/3 - like my ponytail can’t even stay in place cause my bobble slides out of my soft hair.
Finally, the elephant in the room is…the plug size. Yes it’s huge and it could be a problem depending on where you need to plug it in. I have no issues at home but I recently took this to a hotel and I couldn’t plug it in by the vanity because the plug socket was too low. You need to make sure you have clearance space of around 20cm id say underneath the plug you intend to use this device.
Overall though this is a fantastic addition to the dyson hair range and I love it.

detailedReviews 4: content: I am really quite impressed with the Dyson Airstrait. Although I was initially skeptical, I am able to get my hair from wet to pin-straight & dry in basically one step.
Positives are:
Ease of use, device is light, very beautifully made. It still impresses me that I was able to get my hair SO dry and SO straight while staying on the "Wet" setting, basically exclusively the lowest heat + middle heat of the "Wet" mode settings...so no extreme heat AT ALL. After watching some YouTube videos, I also found that I was able to get my ROOTS perfectly straight as well, which is not evident when you first start off with the AirStrait.
And then if you want to do extra straightening, you can use the "Dry" mode; however I found that I really didn't need to - which was pretty surprising, given that I have thick, coarse, dry, curly, bleach-damaged hair. Even my boyfriend was amazed how effective the Airstrait was in getting my hair pin-straight "without all the steam" (read: damage).
Another benefit: it shuts off after a few seconds if you're not using it...which at first I thought was a negligible benefit - but after using it, I find it *so* helpful that the AirStrait remembers your previous setting and just turns on when you pick it up again....which eliminates fiddling with the buttons each time.
Negatives: It does take a minute to learn how to use, but overall pretty easy. I also find that you have to get used to opening and closing the arms, so that could get tiring if you're not used to it...but not really too different from a traditional flat iron.
Overall: a great addition to your haircare arsenal - I highly recommend it!

detailedReviews 5: content: I was gifted the Dyson Airstrait in exchange for my honest review. I have the Airwrap (purchased) as well and will share how they compare. First off, I received the Ceramic Pink shade and it is BEAUTIFUL, seriously a work of art. The pros of the tool: it combines 2 steps - I can go from wet to pin straight with one tool in about 12 minutes. The way I use it is to close the tool and blow dry my hair roughly, concentrating on the roots. Then I section it off and start using the tool. I do 2 slow passes over each section and it gets my hair completely dry and very straight, as if I used a flat iron. What I like about it over a flat iron is that my fine hair feels more full and looks more voluminous compared to when I use a straightener. Also, with Dyson technology I don’t need to use as high heat, so it is better for my hair and more protective. If I would say any drawbacks for the product I would say the size of both the tool and the cord, it would deter me from packing it for a trip, but fine to use at home. As well, it changes the way it blows out air if the tool is clamped together vs open, so it changes the sound coming out depending on if it’s open or closed which is a little annoying (sensory issues), compared to if it made a constant hum. Compared to Airwrap, the Airstrait definitely gets it straighter than any Airwrap attachment ever could, so I think it serves a unique function. Overall, I love the results it gives and I love how fast it works by combining both blow drying and straightening. Very happy with my Airstrait.

detailedReviews 6: content: Imagine those hardcore dyson hand dryers you use at the shops. Now scale that power down into a convenient handheld version. Thats kinda what this device is like.
It doesn’t pull, it doesn’t frizz your hair. It’s like rolling a hair straightener and hair dryer in one and boy does it pack some serious power. I have thick frizzy mid back length hair and have achieved towel dried wet to natural straight in 10 minutes. For sleek straight, it’s about 15 minutes all up.
I have heavily bleach damaged hair and any amount of pulling will break my hair off pretty easily. I bought this because my old flat iron was tugging and my hair was breaking. Have since been able to retire the flat iron and the blow dryer.
Curling is not possible in the traditional sense however if you are handy with a round/barrel brush, you can achieve an excellent blow wave and big loose curls with the right dexterity and hair product.
Touch ups are easy, you can choose cool, warm or hot temperatures depending on your needs. If like me, air moisture turns you back to frizzy, it only takes a minute on warm or cool mode to return your hair back to its gloriously smooth style again.
Over all, id say this is a game changer worth investing in. I contacted dyson while the parcel was in transit because there was a price drop. They also refunded the difference in cost, no questions asked. It was seamless and I wouldn’t hesitate to buy direct from them again.
Legends!

detailedReviews 7: content: I was on the fence for a while about purchasing this as I have had bad experiences with Dyson vacuums but after watching many YouTube reviews and comparisons with a similar product I decided I had to give Dyson another chance and I am so glad I did.
The Dyson Airstrait totally blew me away! I am in love! My hair is damaged from frequent bleaching, is is a fair length and is very thick, course and porous. The Airstrait dries each section of my from wet to dry in two passes. My hair holds water and takes hours to air dry and half an hour with a blow dryer.
The Airstrait dried my hair and perfectly pin straightened it all in 20 mins…frizz free, incredibly smooth and soft and it stays that way all day and I even wake up with it fairly straight and frizz free in the morning.
I am totally converted, this is by far the best hair tool I have ever used and my hair really does not feel like it is being damaged, the is no sizzle no harsh heat plates, it is so easy to use and is a lot quieter than my hair dryer.
It is easy to manage through my hair I don’t feel that it is heavy at all and does not hurt your arms from holding it on the hair for any period of time.
I love that you can use the cold setting to set your hair and that you can use it as a dryer to get your roots dry quickly.
I normally sweat on a hot day drying my hair but I do not have this problem with the Airstrait.
Honestly I could go on and on about how impressed I am by the performance of this hair tool and I am so glad that I invested in this product, my hair is already thanking me and the results show through as people always ask me if I’ve just had my hair done at the salon.

detailedReviews 8: content: The Dyson Airstrait has drastically changed the way I do my hair at home. I am not a professional stylist but would spend a couple of hours at a hair salon getting rollers and a blowout. For reference my hair texture is frizzy, medium fine, 2C hair type. My hair length is several inches past my shoulders, mid back. I live in Florida and the humidity here is insane. In the past, blow drying my hair from wet was very damaging so I did not have high expectations but decided to try for myself based on the positive reviews. My other concern was the look of stick straight, stiff hair. Well, I could not believe how silky and shiny my hair felt after trying the Airstrait for the first time. It took me about 45 minutes with 2-3 passes per section and one more pass on Boost mode. The Airstrait got close to my roots which was important for me. Surprisingly, despite my hair being straight, my hair still had some volume. My hair looked incredible and I received many compliments on how healthy my hair looked. I also find that my hair stays straight for several days without the need of wrapping my hair at night which is unheard of for me. The price is steep but I accumulated ULTA points and waited for their 20% off sale on Dyson. When I calculate how much I spend at the salon it is well worth the price in the long run for me. Overall, I would recommend the Airstrait if you are looking to keep your hair healthy and want a straight look without the need of a flat iron.

detailedReviews 9: content: This is a great start to an obvious hair dryer straighter combo. That said, it’s a start and I hope future models will improve.
I have fine, shoulder length hair I like to wear in a bob or curl into beach waves. The hope was that I’d throw my straighter and dryer into the bin and replace it with this product. This product kind-of achieves the bob but it lacks the same blow out bounce I like. I wasn’t able to create beach waves at all. So it really depends what you’re trying to achieve with this product. I suspect it might suit longer hair where you are aiming for a straight sleek outcome with no aim to create body.
I also would have liked to have been able to control the fan speed. Perhaps there’s a way to do this but it wasn’t intuitive.
The other slight criticism relates to the look and feel of the product - it’s frankly bulkier than imagined. The power cord plug has a really large, bulky power adaptor. Not the greatest travel companion. It also would’ve been nice to have it come in a heat proof bag for travel because the hair dryer straightener combo lends itself to streamlining your travel essentials. Perhaps future models will offer sleek design features.
I see huge potential but it just doesn’t achieve my goals at this point. I plan to use the Dyson hairdryer and stick with my flat iron till then.

detailedReviews 10: content: I am still in the learning curve on this product. For point of reference I have very thick, dry and frizzy hair that takes a long time to dry and I hoped that this tool would go faster than my normal dryer time plus spending time with the Corrale flat iron. I've not made this work well for me yet. First, because of the thickness of my hair and length above shoulders I feel the ends look too blunt and dry. The tool does not allow you to put any shaping in. I get better success using the Corrale to turn ends under a bit and look blended. I think that this tool is designed for long hair because it seems to need a longer length than I have to really pull it through. It's really dang hot on my neck and shoulders because I have to linger there too long. A couple things I think are needed. One. it's so big it cannot provide the finesse needed for shaping. Two. it is almost too lightweight. I appreciate that it is easier to hold up while you move around the head but it does not clamp down enough to really get ahold and put tension on the hair for a straight shiny look. Three. It might be better with some teeth to grip on to the hair. My hair requires i comb through with one hand and follow with the air straight and it still gets little tangles and moves around in the plates. I do give props for its innovativeness. It does take less time to dry although I'm still finishing with the Corrale but with less time for that process.

detailedReviews 11: content: I was on the waitlist for the Dyson Airstrait for what felt like forever—it took literally years to become available in Australia after launching in the US. When it finally dropped, I bought a refurbished unit during Black Friday. Even then, the price was still obnoxiously high. I expected a premium experience for a premium price. I couldn’t have been more wrong.
Customer service was shockingly bad. As someone who had waited so long, I was supposed to get the best launch pricing—but then the price dropped not once, but twice right after my purchase. No price match, no compensation—just a newsletter rubbing it in. When I raised this, Dyson chose to pay for a return and refund (which got stuck and required several follow-ups), rather than do the right thing and match the lower price. They even refused to send me a customer service satisfaction survey, and stopped replying on Facebook Messenger entirely—forcing me to call them directly to get any help.
The product itself? Disappointing. It’s much louder than a regular hairdryer, and the massive power adapter is a joke. It doesn’t fit in standard bathroom outlets, so I’m stuck using an extension cord. Ridiculous for something marketed as “premium.”
Now that I’m seeing similar “patented technology” offered by other brands at a fraction of the price, this whole experience feels like a complete waste of money. Between the inflated cost, poor design, long delays, and Dyson’s refusal to take accountability, I’ll never buy a Dyson product again.

detailedReviews 12: content: I took a chance on purchasing a super glorified hair dryer for a lot of dollars! But I am amazed at how well this thing works. Amazed I tell you!
I have other Dyson household products, so I did not fear the Dyson reputation, it was just a little hesitation on my end to spend so much for a strange hair dryer that looks like a flat iron.
This product does everything it says it will do and takes my curly hair from ringlets/waves/frizz to smooth and sleek in half the time I normally spend...and does the work of two products at once.
While I waited for my Airstraight to arrive, I spent several hours watching other Airstraight owners who were good enough to share their experiences on YouTube. I learned a lot from them and by the time my very own Airstraight arrived I felt like I knew how to use it with no surprises.
This is a comment, not a complaint; this gets your hair straight, but that is it. No way (that I am aware of yet) to put a curve or bend in your style...it's just straight. If there is, I will hunt down that information and learn, but in the meantime? I LOVE this Airstraight and it's my new favorite hair appliance. It claims to be easier on your hair, which makes some sense. The hair dryer is heat, and flat iron is more heat which is what most of us curly tops are used to, and this is one product with 285 F of heated air as highest setting, so it does use heat.
Another comment, not a complaint: there is a learning curve with these, so if you only use it once and do not get your desired results, you need to learn how to use it better. Don't give up! You have to turn it so the air goes in the downward direction, so even though it looks like a strange flat iron, it is not. You'll be switching as you go from side to side. For some reason it is easier to use on the left side of my head than the right, probably because I am right handed? Be sure to section off your hair as well, and go really sloooooow as you make your passes. Two for me does the trick. And the style lasts until your next wash day.
Again...this is an amazing product. A magical way to transform wild curls and tame them smooth and straight.

detailedReviews 13: content: As someone with thick and frizzy hair, I own quite alot of different hair dryers and straighteners. I am always searching for the miracle shampoo, conditioner or stying gadget to help me achieve the straight, glossy hair I so want. I spent a long time reading reviews, watching videos on line before I decided to buy the air straight. I already own the dyson hairdryer and corrale so spending nearly £500 on another product needed careful consideration. With the 35 day dyson return guarantee I decided to take the risk. Having used it for 2 weeks I have to say I am really impressed with the machine. It has cut my styling time down to 20 minutes. Usually, I spend 40 minutes drying and straightening my hair which is not enjoyable. My hair looked straight, (not as glossy as I hoped) and felt soft to touch. Even after being blown about by a bad weather day my hair stayed looking nice. I really like this straightener and am glad Ive invested in it. The product would have got 5 stars but the power cord is too short, it definitely needs to be longer and having to pay another £60 for a protective case when you have spent nearly £500 isn’t good customer service. I have to admit I actually wanted to not like it (£500 is a lot) but honestly I wouldn’t be without it now.

detailedReviews 14: content: I bought this product as I dry and straighten my hair everyday and have done for many years. I bought it hoping it would cut down on time getting ready and produce a silky and straight finish. I have naturally very fine, wavy/curly hair.
The first problem I noticed was how huge the plug was. If your plug socket is less than 4/5 inches off the ground you will not be able to plug this product in. This means it is not compatible with most plug sockets in my house
The product does straighten the hair, however, not very well. When straightening from wet I find I have to use the highest heat setting and pass over about 3 times, all in small sections. It leaves my hair relatively straight but I prefer the look of just drying and straightening my hair with a straightener. I also find it very difficult to style the baby hairs around my face and they are often left sticking out everywhere.
I find that it takes about the same amount of time as it does to dry and straighten normally, so no reduction in time
Yes, the product does what it says on the tin, but the plug is very impractical and I expected a lot better for the money. If I saw a brutally honest review like this prior to buying, I don’t think I would have.

detailedReviews 15: content: I have fine mid length hair which is really flyaway, to the point where I always had to use my straighteners no matter what device I used, and believe me, I've tried plenty over the years! It has a strong kink to it making it difficult to keep straight in between washes, even after using my Dyson straighteners!
Having been given some birthday money I decided to try the Dyson Airstrait, taking advantage of the easypay instalments, fully expecting to send it back after the first use, but let me tell you, it is going nowhere!
Whoever invented this really knows about drying hair, and female hair in particular, and yes it does take a bit of getting used to (you have to make sure the vents are facing downwards otherwise your hair will blow all over the place which I found out to my peril the first time I used it)! I'm used to it now and let me tell you, my hair is silky straight after every use, to the point where it stays straight all week and presenter Abby is right when she says it doesn't give you 'helmet hair' :)
I don't like my fringe too straight so I use the vents as a normal dryer first and dry it with a brush. I also wouldn't say it was quicker at drying my hair than any other dryer but I suppose it depends on your hair type/length.
I know it's a considered purchase for most but honestly, I cannot recommend it highly enough.

detailedReviews 16: content: I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt I had to for this one. I was really excited to purchase the Dyson Airstrait after saving up for months. Unfortunately, it has been a big letdown.
I have just-under-shoulder-length hair that’s not curly, and I’ve tried using both the wet and dry settings multiple times. Each time, it left my hair feeling dry, frizzy, and far from the smooth finish I expected. I was really hoping this would be a product that helped me feel confident wearing my hair out more or styled nicely when tied back—but it just hasn’t delivered.
I tried to return it within two weeks of buying it, but was told that personal care products can’t be returned once opened. That was incredibly disappointing, especially given the high price. I understand hygiene policies, but for such an expensive product, I would have hoped for more flexibility or at least a better result.
This experience has left me really frustrated and I hope this review helps others before they make the same investment.

detailedReviews 17: content: I bought this at the end of July and it's now mid August and I'm loving it. I knew before purchasing that my frizzy hair wouldn't end up poker straight like a hair straightener can create, but I never expected the results I'm getting. Whether using it on wet or dry hair, I'm able to get straight hair (better than I can with Dyson hairdryer or air wrap, still love both of these!) which looks great. I had initial concerns about how I'd get my roots to look ok but using the drying function on roots seems to be doing the job. I've just had carpal tunnel surgery on my right (dominant) hand and I have successfully used the airstrait one handed and although it took slightly longer, the end results were spot on. I have shoulder length, frizzy, thick hair (not sure of the 'type') and to dry from towel dried it takes me 12 minutes to do the whole head and 5 minutes to whizz over dry hair (with 2 hands). It's not as heavy as I thought it would be, it's on par with a pair of straighteners (not as heavy as the Dyson corralle). I've been using it in the heat of summer and I've sent other reviewers say that the heat is too much, personally I can cope with it at its hottest (140c), it reminds me of the Dyson air blade hand driers but hot and in the other direction!! Would I recommend this? 100%, it's pricey but find me a decent hairstyler that isn't these days.

detailedReviews 18: content: The first air strait delivered ceased to work within a short time after purchasing. What seems to be a common problem where a reset instruction on the machine repeatedly shows and prevents use. Repeatedly following the instructions to try and get it to work was fruitless. On speaking with the Dyson helpline staff , they gave me a date some nearly three weeks later to pick up the item and take for repair was their solution . I agreed with some reluctance due to delay in trying to remedy what is an expensive purchase . Soon after I received an email to advise that they would replace and a new one was sent. Since receipt of replacement , I have been able to enjoy the benefit of a fantastic product. It is great for straightening both wet and dry although for a slight turn in on the ends (I have a bob) , I do need to use my straighteners . I only need them for the ends though and on a much cooler setting so I would say my hair is benefitting from a less harmful way to style my hair. I don’t seem to have to wash my hair so often either which is another bonus. I hope the fault on the first one one I got does
Not repeat itself on this one as it does seem from other reviews , this is not an isolated problem. Dyson did provide good after sales service and I would still recommend.

Despite the way it’s marketed, it does actually take quite a while to dry/straighten you hair. If it’s not done slowly and properly, there will be parts of your hair that are wavy/clicky so you do need to be quite meticulous.
Even after doing all this, it’s never actually straight. I don’t mind the blow dried messyish look so it works ok for me but if you’re looking for the same look you get from straighteners, this is not it. You won’t have glossy straight hair from this product. The look gets progressively more wavy through the day too. The ‘straightness’ is definitely not long lasting.
A quick google shows a lot of comments online from people who believe the airstrait has damaged their hair. I don’t know if I believe the ‘no damage’ claims either. Basically for the price of this, I would avoid it if I had the option to go back in time. I always thought it was one of Dyson’s core values to not put a product out before they felt it was ready but I have to say, they’ve definitely done that this time.

detailedReviews 20: content: I've been using the Airstrait for about 3 weeks now and can't recommend it highly enough! I am not great at styling hair (eg I struggle with trying to create waves/curls) so I generally just go for the straight hair look. It used to take at least 30 mins to dry and then use the GHD to straighten my hair. The Airstrait goes from dripping wet to fully dried and straightened in 15 minutes or less. The results are great (I am attaching a day 2 photo to show that it holds the straighten without having to be re-done). I absolutely love this tool and can thoroughly recommend the investment in it to anyone. I grabbed mine on sale for $599 at Myer so it is even better value. When weighed against the cost of a good quality hairdryer plus GHD straightener, it is extremely good value. Plus by using the air technology to dry and straighten it alleviates the heat plates touching your hair as you get with a regular hair straightener, thus preserving the condition of your hair. Overall, I give this 10/10 and would be 11/10 if that was possible. A 5 star product.

detailedReviews 21: content: I read a ton of reviews and mulled over this purchase for quite some time before I took the plunge and made the purchase. I cannot express enough how glad I am that I did. First, I tend to struggle with basic hairstyles and am not particularly adept at styling my hair. I have thick, long wavy/frizzy hair that I have straightened with flat iron for many years now. It’s a long, time consuming process due to texture and thickness of my hair. I doubted that a plateless, hot air appliance could really straighten in, but oh my goodness, was I wrong. My hair is straight and smooth and has more bounce and volume. I often feel like I have two left hands and was worried I would not be able to manage the straightener, but I picked it up quickly. I’ve used it consistently for about two week now and it gets easier and quicker each time. From completely wet to dry and straight takes about 15 mins. I have had numerous compliments on my hair the last couple of weeks as well..and I know the absence of hot plates has got to be better for my hair! True fan and highly recommend this device!

detailedReviews 22: content: The Dyson Airstrait is an innovative hair tool. We all want our hair to look smooth and shiny with little effort and little heat damage. There is a learning curve with this tool. My hair is curly and fine. The Airstrait grabs my hair for needed tension. I know I will get better results as my hair grows. The machine cleans itself as soon as you turn it on. This feature is one less thing you have to worry about. I also like that the air slows down when you put it on the table. This stops your items from flying all over the place. It heats up fast and you know exactly what the temperature is. I use it on the second to highest setting. There is a wet and dry mode. I think you get better results in the wet mode because in dry mode your hair style is already set so its harder to get the results you may want. The cord is long and the power block is a little cumbersome. I make i leave it on the counter when using the Airstrait. The plates don't get super hot so there is less chance of burning your hand. . The Airstrait is surprisingly lightweight. If you want your hair to be smooth and straight with minimal damage Then this tool is for you.

detailedReviews 23: content: These are genuinely a game changer for your hair. My hair is fine but there's lots of it, I colour it and so it's showing signs of dryness and damage and it's naturally got a light wave.
The packaging is beautiful and the straighteners themselves are very tactile and look great. They come with a protective heat mat and a small instruction book to get you going. You can be up and running within a couple of minutes of receiving them.
I've always invested in hair straighteners and used one of the top brands but I'm reluctant to use them daily due to the damage they cause. These have changed that opinion completely, I would happily run them through my hair on a daily basis.
Due to a very short attention span I am not very thorough when drying my hair and regularly hear the sizzle on the straighteners which makes me nervous. This is one of the main reasons I love these, to be able to completely cut out the process of blow drying and the hair destruction is massive for me.
The straighteners are easy to use, there's a small digital screen so you know what settings you have on. You can set it to be used on wet or dry hair, different temperatures and you can also use them to dry your roots through the blast of warm air coming out of the bottom when they're closed.
I would say it took me about twenty minutes to straighten my wet hair, it definitely felt softer and looked healthier and shinier with the Dyson's than with my old straighteners. Each section of my hair needed 3 or 4 run throughs when wet, when dry only one or two and I could straighten all of my hair from dry in 10 minutes. Fly away hair was much more minimal than with other brands.
Whether you straighten your hair regularly or have never done it before, you will love these, they are so easy to use.
The only couple of drawbacks I can find are that they are fairly heavy so not great for holidays and that you can't use them to curl your hair, other than that I think they are amazing.

detailedReviews 24: content: I have very thick wavy hair which, at the slightest touch of moisture in the air, goes frizzy. It does however, hold style extremely well so something that can dry and style my hair at the same time always goes down well in my book. Being blessed with this hair type, it does take the best part of my evening to wash and dry so I'm always on the hunt for something that can cut my drying time effectively and I was pleasantly surprised to find this product shaved off around 20 minutes from my overall hair drying time.
The Dyson Airstrait is a decent size, but not heavy as you might expect. It has quite a few settings to get your head around, but once you have a handle on the controls it's straightforward to use. It has 3 heat and 2 speed settings - I found it worked best for me at the highest on both and I didn't burn my fingers once. You also have a cold shot you can use which helps gives your hair a sleek and shiny finish and minimises any flyaways. You also have separate settings if you're styling your hair from wet or dry which is really useful if you want to use this is an alternative to a straightening iron. Top tip - always dry with the airflow pointing downwards, otherwise you get hair blown in your face!
I did find the way to dry the roots interesting - it acts like a hairdryer and points the airflow straight down so you hover over your head with it until the roots are dry. I was a bit concerned my roots would look frizzy after but that wasn't the case.
The product itself is great and although it's an investment I definitely think it's worth it - the Dyson technology is always top notch and I'll definitely be recommending this to friends and family. The only negative to note (and personally I'm a little disappointed) but it didn't come with a protective case or travel pouch as some of the other Dyson hair products do. It does come with a heat protective mat which is definitely useful but a pouch would have been welcome.

detailedReviews 25: content: I like the color of the tool (purchased the Prussian blue), wish it had other colors that matched my other Dyson tools that I already have. Heat settings there are 3 settings lowest is 175, highest is 285. I have long fine almost straight hair naturally and I use the 285. It says that it's less damaging to your hair , understand there is HEAT if there is HEAT there is damage somewhere so use a heat protectant it will get hot at 285. This product may help mitigate time heat is applied to your hair so maybe less damage in long run but I have nothing to prove that. The results I expect are very straight no fly away hair. The AirStrait does give me these results although it's still straighter with a flat iron and I do have to use a protectant and a anti-frizz product. I do use the cooling feature but it blows at room temp. I live in a tropical climate so it's not cold it's room temp so not sure is seals the hair shaft as intended. If you have naturally curly hair or hair that typically requires a straightening process this product WILL NOT be your end all or perfect product, however it might get you to more of a straight style that you can accept or maybe save time if you have to use another tool. For my best results, my hair is not fully dripping wet not even toweled dried it's like 80% wet meaning it has been initially wrapped in a towel then air dried some. I gave this product a 3 star because it does save me time by using only a single tool to get straighter looking hair. I can get a better result with a flat iron, but the results I get with the AirStrait are acceptable and it saves me time by not having to dry then use a flat iron. The price factor is ridiculous, even if I thought of it has having 1 tool to replace two tools (dryer/flat iron) it would not justify the price. I am keeping the tool because I do like that I can get flat iron "like" results without using two tools and other similar tools that I know do this better are still big and bulky. If this was a stretch on your budget to afford then I would not recommend to purchase. I still appreciate Dyson innovation. Suggestion to Dyson if you all can eliminate those big bulky power cords similar to your Corrale product but can make the charge last longer you would have my total devotion!

detailedReviews 26: content: After researching this tool and debating for months I finally bit the bullet and brought one. As an avid Dyson Airwrap user with curly hair I thought this tool would help with drying time compared to my airwrap. I love the Airwrap but for smoothing out curly hair it doesn’t come close to the AIRSTRAIT. The AIRSTRAIT gives me straight hair from wet AND Dry and the best part is IT STAYS STRAIGHT. My biggest problem in the past has been when I use my air wrap or straightener - the next day my hair is poofy and curly again. That has not happened once with the Airstrait and I barely need to touch up. The air wrap is great for curls and a blow out look, the Airstrait is great for everyday styling if you’re someone that straightens your hair frequently. It takes roughly the same amount of time as the AirWrap takes to dry hair but it cuts styling time significantly (no other heat tools required). It’s 10x quicker than a traditional hair dryer and brush technique

detailedReviews 27: content: Buyers beware! 45 day money back guarantee not so easy.
As others have said, not suitable for all hair types. Filled my hair with static and left my hair looking poofy all day - like I was in high humidity. I found it took longer to straighten, going over the hair section more times, than using my old traditional hair straightener. I found the fan annoying, even on the lower setting, burning my neck and shoulders. The product is also surprisingly heavy and chunky to use. I was not happy with the time it took nor the outcome and would not recommend this product.
I have had an awful experience in trying to return the product under the 45 day money back guarantee. The customer service is non-existent with delay tactics being used. I tried to return the product after 1 week of use, as I was so dissatisfied with the outcome and 3 weeks later I am still trying to get a returns slip sent to me so I can return it.
I have been told by Dyson that the product will be assessed on return and can take up to 14 business days for the refund payment to be processed - buyers beware!

detailedReviews 28: content: I absolutely LOVE this device in fact, in our family we would go so far as to say that it is very nearly the Holy Grail of hair devices. It not only works fabulously on my shoulder length, straight, fine hair, but is also amazing on my daughter's long curly hair. After reading reviews, we did not expect to work on her hair, however we were literally blown away by the result on both our hair. It smooths all frizz, and straightens, with more body than when we use the corrale. We no longer need the flyaway attachment when using the Airstrait to take the frizz from my daughters hair. I would have given a 4.5 / 5 if I could. The only reason I have given a 4 instead of a 5 is that I feel like the cord is a little too short for comfort, and also find that when using the Airstrait just as a straightener on my in between wash days, the device does give off a fair bit of heat which is not ideal in hot aussie summers. But otherwise, I very very highly recommend this device and will continue using mine, except on the hot summer days, when I will use my Corrale instead!

detailedReviews 29: content: First of all, the hair blower and straightener is indeed a pricey investment. However, I find it absolutely worth the cost because it effectively tames and straightens my hair like never before! Previously, with my old, less expensive hair dryer, it took quite a bit of time just to dry my hair, leaving me with no time to straighten it with an iron. Most days, I would end up just brushing it out after drying, which by day's end left my hair frizzy and unkempt. Enter the Dyson Airstrait OMG, it's a game changer! It significantly reduces the time needed to dry and straighten my hair. Plus, my hair stays straight all day long, even on windy days! I've even received compliments from friends and colleagues, asking if I had just come from a professional salon. The machine's quality is outstanding, despite being made of plastic, and it's also lightweight, so it doesn't tire out my hand at all! If you’re only concern of straightening your hair, then this is the machine for you! A MUST BUY!!!

detailedReviews 30: content: I bought this when it was the TSV. Unpacking it was a little tricky but once inside I was really excited to try it. I have shoulder length, slightly wavy, frizzy prone hair (oh the joy! ) I found the Airstrait rather chunky to use but soon adapted to that. It's not as quick to use as the presentation suggested, but still much quicker than hair dryer and seperate straightener. The clincher for me though, it's so much kinder to my hair! I've got minimal breakage, whereas before I'd have a pile of broken hair.!! There are just two things that I think Dyson should consider on the next generation model (I'm sure there will be one!)
1. Put a texture or location bump on the front of the dryer. This would avoid inadvertently using it upside down and blowing the hair the wrong way.
2. Relocate the cold shot button so that it can be easily reached while using the dryer. It's virtually useless where it is!
All in all, my hair seems healthier, less frizzy, and stays straight over several days. I'm very happy!

detailedReviews 31: content: I typically flat iron my wavy frizzy hair after drying it, but I’m trying to improve my hair health. The airstraight does a great job of drying my hair straight without the need to flat iron it. I was nervous that my roots and baby hairs would still be wavy, but I followed the directions of drying my roots first and then drying the rest of my hair and it has worked great. Another concern I initially had was whether or not my hair would be as smooth as my flat iron gets it. The airstraight gets it really close! I still use my usual hair products and heat protection products and I’m very happy with the results. If my hair wasn’t damaged, it would certainly be smoother (after drying on wet mode, I do a dry mode pass over my hair which helps smooth it out a little more). I’ve officially given my flat iron a break. One thing to note is the airstraight makes your hair pin straight and you can’t use to curl your ends the way you might with a flat iron.

detailedReviews 32: content: I bought Dyson Airstrait month ago, and I tried it on medium length hair, then I cut it to neck length so quite short, I tried it on dry and wet with both lengths and it is working great in all situations. I have unruly hair, wavy but not proper nice curls, each wave is living it's own life. I found it works best for me timewise when I let my hair dry a bit (10-15 minutes). It gave my hair volume and made it straight! The result is same either when the hair is wet or dry, it's just faster when it's a little bit dry already. I was never able to blow my hair before to be straight, I had to use hair straightener all my life. My hair is quite dry so I hope using Dyson long-term will not make it drier as they advertise their tools are gentle on hair. This Airstrait seems like a best product for my hair type. The product is intuitive, it has nice design and it fits well into hand and is not heavy. The minus is maybe the size of the product and the plug, but I'm not planning to travel with it so I don't care. For this price I expect the product to last forever.

detailedReviews 33: content: This is a fantastic product. My hair styling has been cut down to 25 minutes from wet to dry and gives a great finish. I have just passed shoulder length thick hair (naturally wavy) and my previous routine would take ages and be laborious. It really put me off doing much with my hair at times and I would either leave to dry naturally or would tie it up in a pony most of the time. Now I can do my hair in the morning before work and know it will look good. The previous routine of drying and then straightening with good quality straighteners would take too long and not always give the results I wanted. The only reason I give a 4 not 5 is because of the having to dry the roots first. It still gives a great reduction of time but I wish it would dry root to tip without having to go through the roots first. I have a lot of hair and it’s difficult for me to get the back of my head dry. That said I would not change back to my previous routine and these are brilliant and I would completely recommend them!

detailedReviews 34: content: While this does cut down on my styling time because I can dry and straighten at the same time, this makes my hair EXTREMELY static-y in a way no other hair tool ever has. I’m disappointed by that, given this is marketed as using negative ions to prevent that. I’ve tried with and without hair product and have used several times in case it was user error. Aside from the insane static, it does straighten my hair well without too much effort, but I don’t have very thick or curly hair. I was expecting it to be bulky/heavy based on reviews I’d read (here, Sephora, Nordstrom, etc.), but I didn’t find that to be the case. I was bummed that a hair tool at this price point doesn’t come with a case or protective sleeve. Purchasing a Dyson case is $60. It does come with a silicone heat mat for your bathroom counter, but this could’ve easily been turned into a silicone sleeve to store it in/travel with instead. I purchased this on sale (20% off) and also had a gift card, and that is why I’m keeping it, but I do not feel it is worth the $500 price tag.

detailedReviews 35: content: I bought this a month ago and it just amazes me every time I use it. I have the Airwrap and Corrale and this is for me the best tool. the Airwrap used to be good for me before menopause, but now its not anymore as my hair has got unruly and after i dry it, it has a lot of volume and frizz. So I have to use the Corrale afterwards. The Airstrait has reduced my time to half, doesnt damage my hair due to pulling with a brush to blow dry it and then use heat to straighten. The strands can be any sizes, it does perfectly any ways, it is the air blowing that separates the hair acting as a comb, so there is no tension on it, and therefore less risk of breakage, leaving it loose and bouncy. It leaves my hair straight, bouncy, healthy, shiny, and it lasts for days. So easy to use, my hair looks like I have been to the hairdresser. If for any reason you want to touch up, you can just use the Dry mode. Can't think of living without it anymore. The only problem is the size of the plug that is massive. I thank Dyson for it, and all the technology behind it. Bought on Boxing Day and think it was worth the money.

detailedReviews 36: content: I have very thick, very curly hair and a lot of it as well so I was so excited to try the Airstraight. I used my usual styling products and waiting until my hair was around 70/80% dry whilst using it on the highest heat, high power and wet mode.
Starting with the good;
It usually takes me over an hour to blow dry my hair, with the Airstraight it took 45 minutes and whilst the device is heavy my arms hurt way less as I didn’t have to manoeuvre a brush alongside a hair dryer.
Once I’d got the hang of using it and worked out the size of the hair section I could run through it the process sped up so I thing after a bit more practice I could cut down that drying time even further. At the start the air pressure was pushing my hair out of the end of it but just rotating the device helped me to control that.
My hair felt so soft after using it, like hair salon smooth, and it didn’t have that smell that you can sometimes get after putting heat on to hair. I’m hoping this will mean there’s less heat damage to my hair but only time will tell on that one.
The dry setting is genius, usually after the gym I dry hairspray the roots and then blow this out with a hairdryer and a brush. Problem is that can leave my hair very frizzy so I have to go over with my straighteners. I did the same process with the Airstraight, took less than five minuets and my hair was back to normal, I would honestly buy it a million times over just for that.
The pause functionality is another stroke of genius, after about 3 seconds of the Airstraight not being used it pauses, starts working again once you pick it back up. I know this doesn’t sound like such a big deal but you can’t just put a hairdryer down, you’ve got to turn it off or everything blows everywhere whilst your adjusting your hair. The ease of just being able to put it down and pick it back up without any faff has made me so happy.
The bad;
The plug is huge. Thankfully there is enough space in between the plug and the skirting board where I dry my hair for it to fit but I could imagine this could pose a problem if you didn’t have the space as it does recommend not using it with an extension cord.
I haven’t been able to put any waves or curls in to my hair with the Airstraight, I have seen some videos of people who have but I haven’t mastered it. It does give a very natural straight style with some body to it which I love. It doesn’t claim to be able to create curls or waves so I guess this is only a problem if that’s your go to style.
It can be a little tricky to get a hang of, my left side was easy to do but the right I had to switch arms for a few sections until I got a hang of it.
All in all I’m in love with the Airstraight, drying and styling my hair is usually such a palaver that I only do it once a week and usually have my hair up to save myself the time and damage. Since using this I’ve been able to smooth and restyle 3 or 4 day old hair without being so worried about damage and having to use multiple tools (and time, it saves me so much time!).

detailedReviews 37: content: I was dubious about these straightners given their high price point, but after using them for a bit, I think they are 100% worth it.
I have curly/frizzy hair that always kinks/sticks out at the sides, the Airstrait removes these and keeps them away for DAYS. I have other products such as the Airwrap which can tame this for a day, but it can take a while to style and any moisture/humidity makes the sides go curly again. Or I've also used the standard plate straighteners which do keep my hair straight for longer periods of time, but it removes all volume from my hair (I feel like my hair sticks to my head/face?) and also damages it! I've added a video of my usual hair and then my hair 36 hours after using the Airstrait (but it'll still look this good in 72 hours!).
Another huge positive about the Airstrait is it's ability to straighten from wet. My hair is done in 10 minutes, and it's so easy: I towel dry my hair, brush it through and set my parting, wait around for about 10/15 mins for my hair to dry slightly at the roots (although this is me being lazy vs a necessity), I then section my hair into 3 parts (bottom, middle and top of my head) and straighten sections from wet to dry, starting at the bottom, and voilà - my hair is then sorted for the next few days!
Hair styling aside, the Airstrait itself is very cool. You can adjust the settings from dry/wet hair and change the heat/speed. One of my favourite features is how it turns itself off when you put it down, and then starts back up when you pick it back up!
I would love it if this came with a travel case, and if the cable was longer as it can make it a little tricky if your mirror is far from your plug socket (especially as you can't use this upside down), but I've quickly adjusted and I love everything else about this product that these points aren't enough to dock it a star.
Overall, I am obsessed with this product and how good my hair looks with it. It is my favourite styling tool and would recommend.

detailedReviews 38: content: The Dyson Airstraight is most definitely a game changer for modern life.
Not only does it reduce drying and styling to just a quarter of the time, but also a fraction of the price. It doesn't heat as high, protecting hair, leaving a natural shine and fantastically straight hair that lasts a week!
Its innovative technology means I can do away with the hairdryer and straighteners entirely. It's lightweight, has wet and dry, high low boost and cool settings and can be used as a straightener or dryer. I dry the roots first takes minutes and then two glides per section with the straighteners then it's done!
Fantastic product you will not be disappointed.

title: The Dyson Airstraight is most definitely a game...
detailedReviews 39: content: The Dyson Airstrait works like a flat iron and blow dryer all in one and can be used on both wet and dry hair. It gives the appearance of a regular straightener but instead of having two hot plates the Airstraight has a gap for airflow. The Air straight also gives you different temperature controls you can use depending on how much heat you might need.
The main reason I really love this product is the wet to dry feature. I've never seen this done before and found it hard to believe that it could really go from wet to silky smooth within minutes but it really does. I have naturally curly hair, even after washing and conditioning and using products I never found a regular hairdryer that could give me a salon worthy look , which is why I've always used straighteners to finish off. With the Airstraight it takes out a whole step in my routine I can get my hair dry and straight in one go and it really does work and produce results that lasted all day. The Dyson cleans itself after every use and you do also need to regularly clean it to ensure that it's at its most effective so it might be quite a high maintenance product to keep if you don't want to invest the time into caring for it. I love that you don't need to wait for it to heat up and can use it right away. It also comes with a little heat protector so you can set your Airstraight on once you're finished or inbetween stages of drying your hair. There is virtually no set up required upon receiving this product, you just plug it in and good to go. You do need to watch some video tutorials on the Dyson website to help you make the most of it. it came really well packaged, in cardboard boxes and no plastic so very environmentally friendly too. Overall, I would really recommend this product to family and friends. It is durable, easy to use and makes your haircare routine so much faster.

title: The Dyson Airstrait works like a flat iron...
detailedReviews 40: content: This is the best hair appliance I have ever bought. I have thick, coarse, wavy hair - it takes hours to dry and straighten and even then it ends up frizzy. With the Airstrait I can dry/straighten my hair in approx 30 mins. This is so helpful for me as a disabled person as I usually end up putting my hair in a messy bun rather than styling it as it takes so long. My hair was so sleek after using the airstrait and it stayed that way until the next time I washed it without the normal frizziness I experience. It’s lightweight and beautifully designed. The LED screen guided me with how to use the device so I was able to use it straight out of the box. I didn’t even need to really look at the instructions. Although the price is a bit steep it’s a worthwhile investment especially if you struggle physically with hairstyling like I do.

detailedReviews 41: content: Wasn’t sure about these but decided to treat myself with the blue light £50 discount. I have 2 dyson vacuum cleaners & love the brand so I was disappointed with the ‘airstraight’ hair tool. I did read reviews before purchasing but still went ahead & bought it. I watched the instruction video multiple times to learn how to switch them on but the text moved so quickly while I was trying to read& watch at same time was difficult. Took me ages to switch them on & try them out.
Buttons very small & fiddly to use. Being right handed it was difficult to do right side of hair with air vents facing downwards. Device doesn’t open up much which felt strange. Drying roots first as instructed would have been better & easier done with my normal hairdryer. I didn’t get a smooth sleek finish as I’d hoped.
Decided this product is not for me as it’s not easy to use.

detailedReviews 42: content: I can’t tell you how much this product has revolutionised my get ready routine! It’s so easy to use and leaves my hair perfectly straight. I also have natural curly hair and it works so well! Would highly recommend drying hair slightly first with the plates closed, then using wet to dry mode and then finish off by using dry mode on the top layer, with a really quick blast of cool air to set the style 😍 I noticed some people had said it was really heavy - not any more! They removed the heavy element and transferred it to the plug (which is why the plug is bigger than a standard plug). If you’re considering it / go for it! You will not be disappointed. When my partner bought it for me, I was worried it wouldn’t handle my curly hair, but I was so pleasantly surprised. If I could give 6 stars, I would! Thank you Dyson!!! 🩷🩷🩷 oh almost forgot - the best thing about this, the reduced damage from heat to your hair!!

title: I can’t tell you how much this product...
detailedReviews 43: content: Wow, this product is a real game changer!! This literally cuts down styling time by half (if not more) and does the job of drying and straightening in one. I would describe my hair as fine, not dead straight but has a slight wave when dried normally, and generally quite flat. What this tool does is effectively blow dry it straight so I actually prefer the finish to a normal straightening iron as it has that blow dried look rather than so sleek and flat that for me my hair can look greasy!
I was blown away with how easy and intuitive it is to use. When you switch it on it does a few seconds of cleaning and then it's ready to go straight away, you choose the dry or wet-to-dry setting and you're off. I didn't realise it acts as a standard highdryer too, with the arms closed it blasts out air so you can properly rough dry your hair before straightening and this allows me to still dry my hair with my head bent over to get some more volume into it. I didn't change the styling products I used with this, I normally use a leave in conditioner or some priming/heat protect spray. You can then go in with the straightening aspect and as long as the air flow is pointing down the hair you can't go wrong you can style very quickly and not be too precious about it. Depending on how dry your hair is you won't have to go over the same patch more than 2 or 3 times and sometimes once is enough. You can then switch to the cool setting to finish and set the hair.
It has literally changed how my hair looks day to day as I can go longer in between washes now as it's been properly blow dried so stays straight for days. I also use it on the dry setting for a freshen up post gym and because of the way it uses air it really does freshen the hair and makes it look newly styled.
Only thing to be aware of is the plug is really bulky so I was initially concerned it wouldn't fit with the skirting board but it did fit fine and of course an extension lead would solve any problems if needed.

detailedReviews 44: content: I bought my airstrait a few weeks ago, best thing I ever bought! It makes my hair amazing! Although, I did have an unpleasant time with a sales rep. I asked about a different colour and she stated it could be mailed. I told her no, usually big packages aren’t accepted at my PO Box unfortunately, we went back and forth then finally told me “whatever I’m not going to argue with you”. I did let her know I was happy with copper colour she kept insisting. Regardless I was very happy of my purchase and also told her I was caught between the airstrait and one of the Dyson vacuums. I heard her under her breath “those are two different things”. Yes I understand they are, me and my husband discussed coming back and getting the second item we were looking at. But since the bad customer service, I think Dyson has lost our service. Although I have the dryer, air wrap and straightener, I would rather spend that kind of money on company’s that treat First Nation people with respect.

detailedReviews 45: content: The idea of combining hairdryer and straightener is great however its effectiveness was not sufficient on my hair.
I have average mild wavy hair. Airstrait could not dry or straighten my hair in one way at 110c, whilst it is not as powerful as a supersonic in drying hair. I found it more time efficient with supersonic + hair straightener.
Some people mentioned the hair quality will get better with the use of airstrait, i found mine had no change after 3 weeks of solely using it.
Also, the hair cant keep straight for more than half day when it is humid. It could not straighten my baby hair too due to its design.
The plug is super bulky, i have to use it somewhere else as there is no powerpoint fits it in my bathroom. Not to mention how heavy it is if you bring it around on trips.
It is average, and not worth this price in my opinion.

detailedReviews 46: content: I have Type 2 hair (loose waves, shoulder length) & the Airstrait gives me a great result. Your hair will never be pin strait with this machine but it’s a great, straight blowout style. My hair is quite thick but I can go from freshly washed, towel dried hair to out the door in under 15 minutes.
My tips:
Always dry your roots before you start
Always apply a product before you begin & when you finish to help hold your style
Use the Cold setting to lock in the style
GO SLOW! It actually saves you time in the long run
DO NOT run your fingers through your hair to create tension - even on the lowest setting, you will definitely hurt your fingers with steam/heat
The Dry setting is a good next day refresh, done in mere moments.
My hair feels so much softer & healthier now I’m not frying it with hot plates.

My hair has been falling out since using the airstrait. I returned the product and customer care never responded to complaint. I own their hairdryer and have used the airwrap with no problems so made the mistake of trusting their product. My hair has literally been shedding in my hands. My hair is still falling out weeks later. I have cried many times. This hair has come from the root. I have lost so much hair and don't understand how this could have happened from one use, and how there are no reviews discussing this. I cannot be the only person to have had this experience. I cannot believe the amount of hair I have lost since using this product. I have posted an image on their discussion page of how much hair loss I had last time I cowashed my hair. I don't think I lose that much hair in a year. My hair is already quite thin and this has been a heartbreaking experience, especially the hair loss at the front.

detailedReviews 48: content: I was excited to try the Airstrait as the idea of only needing to use 1 hair appliance to do my hair every morning instead of 2 or 3 sounded like a real time and effort saver! I have all the other Dyson hair appliances so I know how great their products are and the Airstrait certainly stacks up against the likes of the Airwrap. The things I like most about it are: the fact that it cleans the filters each time you turn it on, it's lightweight and easy to manoeuvre, it styles your hair fast and leaves it soft and smooth and it causes less heat damage than traditional hairdryers and straighteners. The areas I found a little challenging were the fact that the plug is really big, the cord is a little short and it doesn't allow you to curl the ends of your hair under (but you can do this with a round brush, using it like a hairdryer - thanks for the tip YouTube!). These aren't deal breakers by any means, but I thought they were worth mentioning. All in all, I think this is a great styling tool and well-worth the investment. Thanks Dyson!

detailedReviews 49: content: I didn't want to need this, used it once and had to buy one immediately. I have very fine curly hair. If I want to put a loose wave in my hair I'd have to blow dry it straight and also use a flat iron before waving it. I can get my hair poker straight with the airstrait but it doesn't sit flat to my head, it looks bouncy and shiny. On the third day my hair naturally forms a smooth wave and I quite like that. If I want to straighten it again I just go over it on dry mode and it works perfectly. My hair is very long (down to my waist) and it takes me about 15 minutes to dry it straight from towel dried. What I like most about it is the airflow naturally detangles my hair as it blows it straight, why I struggled with classic blow dry methods is my curly hair would start getting tangled as soon as tension wasn't pulled on it. I thought the airstrait would snag my hair and I'd have to be precise sectioning it but you can just slide it in any section of hair and the air does all the work.

detailedReviews 50: content: Very good product that looks lovely. The design looks great and the airflow through dries my hair amazingly straight without feeling like I'm damaging my hair.
However, having shorter hair (comes just above my shoulders), I feel that it would be better suited to people with long hair.
The hot air blasts out and can be quite hot on your neck and shoulders, not to mention, where my hair is shorter the air absolutely blasts out.
It's also quite clunky to hold and heavier than I thought it would be. The massive surge plug and long lead can be annoying when using it as depending on what's around can get hooked onto things! (But maybe that's just me!)
I haven't quite gotten used to using it for different styling as it feels more like a blow dryer than a styler, so really great if you just like a straight blow out.

detailedReviews 51: content: This product is fantastic and really does work. I have coloured hair that is wavy and can frizz after drying so I always have to put irons on afterwards. I could now just about get away with not using them. Hair stays straight for days after. Daughter has thick, wavy hair and was also very impressed. Not sure we are doing it in 2 passes of the dryer, may get better with practice. Downside is the cord is very short so I have to use an extension lead from plug socket outside my bathroom to access the mirror. Also I'm a bit disappointed to see that 9 days later a plum coloured version is now for sale at £30 less and with a presentation box for storage. So greater value all round. As the product itself is being reviewed I will give 5 stars even if there is an issue for me with the short cord length.

detailedReviews 52: content: I don't know what kind of trickery these little gadgets are or have, but boy do they work!
I have fine hair but lots of it, that's bleach damaged and with a god awful natural frizz!!, So unless I've blow dried the bejeezers out of my hair and then straightened it with well known straighteners, it goes frizzy. I'm also very aware of and reluctant to use straighteners on my hair as It is fairly damaged at the moment.
First use - I did a rough root dry with these then sectioned my hair, did two passes of the air straightener down each section and it's done. It's straight. It's smooth. It feels soft and sleek. Wow.
For the record I have a Dyson hairdryer and a Dyson airwrap - both of which I used to use and follow with straighteners. This little wonder does it all by itself. And because I'm not 'straightening' it with hot irons, I have more root lift.
Love love love them. The other two Dyson hair tools don't come close to this in my opinion. Well worth every penny. Well done Dyson, well done! Finally a hair product worth bragging about.

detailedReviews 53: content: KEY INFO:
This is considered "the original" Airstrait. The actual original was black and purple, but this version of the original lacks the same features as the "new" versions. New or limited edition versions come with a presentation case. This can be confusing because on the Dyson website, the "original" comes in two versions (one with the case and one without). Unfortunately, Sephora only carries the one without. AGAIN, at Sephora, only limited editions come with cases.
EXPERIENCE:
I love this machine, and take note, it is, in fact, a machine. And as such, needs to be cared for like a machine with regular maintenance. Still, when used, it does it's job beautifully. The airstrait creates volume as it straightens your hair, even if slightly wet. What a time saver!!!
My one complaint: it's difficult to get at the hair roots.
ALSO:
If you already have the hair dryer, this tool will be redundant.

detailedReviews 54: content: I've had the Airstrait for a month now and am pleased with its performance. I live in the US South where the humidity makes keeping my hair straight and smooth a challenge during the spring and summer months. The Airstrait offers the right amount of heat and makes fairly short work of drying and straightening my hair. I particularly like that I don't have to repeatedly straighten my hair a couple times in the morning like I usually do with a typical flatiron. It took a couple uses to feel 100% comfortable with using the tool properly, so that the air flowed in the correct direction, but I believe that was part of a normal learning curve. A (minor) complaint is that it is not a small tool and noticeably takes up room on my bathroom counter, especially the plug. Overall, though, I am satisfied with the purchase and its performance.

detailedReviews 55: content: i have very long thick curly hair (2c-3a) that takes almost two hours to do when i blow dry and straighten because it gets very frizzy after brushing and blow drying. because of this, i was skeptical. the dyson reduced my styling time to one hour. NO FRIZZ. the trick is to pull your roots firmly and then hot shot them with the dryer closed before you “straighten” each section. it took me about two-three SLOW passes each section depending on how much i sectioned at a time. i have a hard time sectioning my hair while it’s wet, but getting better at that will speed the process up even more once you get it down. The only downside i have to this is that you cannot achieve a blow out look and curl your ends. your hair will only be stick straight no matter how you try to manipulate it. this is definitely worth it though, especially if you’re used to it taking forever to style your hair.

detailedReviews 56: content: Let’s start with the good stuff: This is a fabulous dryer/straightener. It is very gentle on my fine hair and dries it poker straight, really quickly. I initially bought it as I was having shoulder surgery and hoped I would be able to use this to dry my hair with one hand and yes, it’s worked really well and exceeded my expectation In that, it is pretty lightweight as well.
Now for the negatives: I can’t ignore the price, it is so expensive and I honestly don’t think it’s value for money (luckily mine was on offer so I got an £80 discount but still really pricey), however good it is - it’s just a hair dryer/ straightener. The other negative I would say is the enormous plug and the weird process you have to go through of pressing the circuit release buttons every time you use it. Ok, so I get that by putting the weight in the plug it’s making the straightener lighter but I can’t imagine how I could travel with this because of the plug size without taking an extension cable as well, as the weight of the plug would cause it to fall out of the wall when added to a converter plug.

title: Let’s start with the good stuff: This is...
detailedReviews 57: content: I was so excited to try the Dyson Airstrait, but didn't expect to love it as much as I do! I used to dread hair wash day as it can take a while to blow dry my thick curly hair. Usually my hair dries in a 'puffy' state after using a hair dryer, then it's time to straighten it which is a chore... but this has been an absolute game changer in helping me to achieve a sleek look.
Like most hair tools, it can take a little getting used to, but the digital display is really intuitive and I love that you can alter the temperature to suit your personal preference. As somebody who washes their hair around twice a week, I also love how it has a dry mode - perfect for using the tool as a straightener alone and for tidying up any areas once your hair has dried through.
I never thought I'd be able to get long-lasting straight hair; not only by using one tool, but a tool that doesn't cause heat damage! This is really important to me as I do use a lot of heat on my hair where allowing it to dry naturally isn't an option, and want to improve the condition of it.
An added bonus is how the airflow/noise reduces when you're not clamping down on your hair, so you can easily tell when it's doing the job and avoids a constant loud blasting. The Airstrait includes a silicone heat mat which comes in handy, although I do agree with other reviews - for the price, you would assume a nice box would be included, similarly to the Airwrap. This doesn't bother me too much as sometimes boxes can take up too much space anyway.
Overall I'm really impressed (and shocked!) at how fabulous the Airstrait is - it's definitely an investment but it's something I will be using almost every day, so worth it in my opinion! It replaces the need for a hair dryer altogether.

detailedReviews 58: content: So happy I took the dive and bought this as a birthday gift to myself despite some of the negative reviews. I have been a flat iron girly for as long as I can remember but it takes it's toll on my hair and lately I've been struggling with it feeling dead and dry from extensive heat damage. I always use heat protectant yet it never seems to help. I've tested the airstraight two times already and WOW... my hair looks and feels so shiny and healthy and no longer dry. I can run my fingers through my hair no and there are ZERO tangles and it feels so soft and silky! I use a brush to pick up a section my hair and use the lowest heat setting while it's still pretty wet and then go back over on medium heat to get that sleek finish and then use the cold setting to lock it in. I will say it is a bit heavy but with these results it's a fair trade off and it's basically a hair dryer/flat iron packed into one so it's understandable. This has easily become my holy grail in my hair routine and I really hope the results stay the same over time.

After getting highlights my hair has been more damaged and it used to take me a while to blow dry first and then the flat iron. detailedReviews 60: content: I didn't know what to expect, reading different reviews. I have fine hair but lots of it, it is greying but I maintain a colour. I hate trying to dry my hair and then straighten it, I get hot and grumpy.
This works really well, I don't know that I save a lot of time but it is a much simpler process that I really don't mind, and saves me going to hairdresser weekly. My only thing is that the transformer plug is so large and as my electrical outlet in the bathroom sits low, It won't fit because the space between the counter top and outlet isn't enough. So I try to do it in my bedroom, but the cord isn't long enough so I can comfortably turn and look in the mirror. It was also advertised as coming with free hair clips that I have never received, and I have tried to reach out to Dyson, but no one responds.
So IMO the plug could do with redesign.

title: Dyson Airstrait Straightener is another innovative Dyson product...
detailedReviews 62: content: I've been using this Dyson Airstrait Hair Straighteners for the past week or so now and wow what a game changer it is! They come well packaged in all recyclable packaging, so no plastic. I love that the box has a blue print of the product on the box too.
I used to straighten my hair all the time but it became too time consuming drying my hair and then straightening it (plus very hot in the summer time!) a lot of the time I don't bother with straightening my hair and wear my hair in a plate as I've got thick frizzy/curly hair.
But with the Dyson Airstrait Hair Straighteners, drying and straightening my hair is going to be a thing of the past! It straightens your hair from wet or dry at a low temperatures which you can be select at 80°c, 110°c or 140°c plus use cold for setting your style, that aren't harsh or too damaging to your hair. Plus you can handle your hair without burning yourself. I'm left with really smooth silky to touch hair. I only had to go over my hair a few times and it's dry. Having a lot of hair normally takes me ages to dry my hair and I own a good hairdryer!
The straightener self clean themselves each time you turn them on and alerts you to when they need a more thorough clean like the filter. They have idle mode so they automatically drops to low airflow between each pass of your hair. When they are not used for 3 seconds the machine will auto pause to save energy.
The straighteners are really easy to use and quick to dry your hair, which makes them really convenient to use. I'm so pleased to own these and would highly recommend them if you've had enough of the faff of drying your hair then having to straightening your hair afterwards, these are so much easier. I wish I had a pair sooner, I absolutely love them.

title: I've been using this Dyson Airstrait Hair Straighteners...
detailedReviews 63: content: The Dyson Airstrait is light and easy to use and looks great. I thought it would be heavier. Its appearance is sleek and modern. I used it straight out of the box without reading any instructions and it is very user friendly. There is a QR code for all the information and instructions for use.
The fan comes on once it is in contact with the hair and it turns itself off when not in use.
My hair is very fine, curly and undyed. In other words totally natural but is in dire need of a trim so not in the best condition but it still came out pretty smooth and shiny.
My hair was freshly washed and air dried until just damp and I applied a leave in conditioner and heat protectant serum.
It only took approximately 20 minutes to dry and straighten but took longer on my daughters's hair which is much thicker.
I loved the little screen which tells you which mode you are using.
I gave it 4 stars as I felt that for such a considered purchase the lack of any storage box or even a cloth bag was very disappointing and unexpected! I wonder if there will be one to purchase separately in future as without one it just has to left in a drawer unprotected which doesn't seem right, so be prepared for that.
Also I could not curl my hair with the Airstraits as I am able to do with traditional straighteners. I did try using the dry mode but had no luck. So if you like to wear your very straight they will be great for you.
All internal packaging is cardboard which I assume was for environmental considerations.
Overall I am impressed with the speed that my hair was dry and the smoothness and shine I achieved even though my hair is not in great condition.

detailedReviews 64: content: I purchased this as a gift to myself for my 50th birthday and I'm so glad I did! Yes, it is pricey but my hair is much straighter, stays straight and is in better condition. It does take a few goes to be completely comfortable using the Airstrait, but hang on in there as it really pays off. I haven't used my hairdryer or straighteners for 3 weeks now and I can already tell the difference. It takes half the time to get smooth straight hair after washing and my style has more bounce and body. I only wash my hair once a week and after around day 3 or 4 it may need a little refresh - which the Airstrait does easily on a dedicated setting for this. Highly recommend the Airstrait ..... and that's coming from someone who has not been without straighteners for over 30 years! Apart from the price tag, the only downsides are the very large plug adaptor and short lead - but I overlook these as I get such good results :-)

detailedReviews 65: content: 1 star for customer service as I can’t rate the product properly yet as the product broke one day after purchase. For the exceptionally huge price I believe that customer service should also be exceptional. Arrived Tuesday. Used once. Super. Washed hair two days later and hoped to use it but it made a frightening crackling noise and stopped working. Dyson Customer Service said they would collect it 8 days later (!) which was the earliest slot they had and it would be repaired. I did not want a repair, I wanted a new one as it was obviously faulty. Nope, they said it would be assessed first. . So nearly a month after purchase I am due to get either a repaired product or new one delivered (still a few days to wait). Dyson, you are very happy to take my money but to have to wait a month for a repaired or replaced product to be delivered to me after one use is absolutely appalling. I never leave reviews so for me to do this it has to be bad.

detailedReviews 66: content: The product itself is lovely to look at, I chose the light pink version, and it seemed like a quality product, but I have returned it. I have curly/ wavy hair and it took a minimum 8 passes to get my hair straight-ish. Even with 10 passes in the wet to dry mode, then another few in the dry mode, plus blasting it with cold air, my hair still wasn’t sleek. For above shoulder length hair to take at least 60 minutes to dry and ‘straighten’ was not worth it for me as I can do it faster using a hairdryer and traditional straighteners. Whilst the hair was fine to wear to work, by the end of the day it had puffed out and was frizzy, much more so than it usually would. I tried it a few times, and watched a number of videos for advice to see if my technique would improve but it still didn’t work well for me. I am very happy there is the 45 day change of mind policy as I had saved up for this product. I was hopeful this product was going to be a game changer for me but it wasn’t to be.

detailedReviews 67: content: I was very sceptical about purchasing the Dyson Airstrait as, let’s face it, it’s a lot of money. My worst fear was paying all that money and it just end up back in the box. Well, to say I love it is an understatement. I have severely mistreated my hair and have lots of breakage from straightening and bleaching etc. You get into a vicious cycle of having to straighten every day. The broken ends of my hair would be all staticky and it would never look smooth, even with my expensive straighteners. This is a gamechanger for me. The finish is amazing from wet to dry and feels so soft. I wash every other day and it literally takes less than 10 mins on the dry mode (about 20 from wet). My straighteners have been put away and this is the only hair tool for me now. Love it, love it, love it! (Still a bit expensive though!).

detailedReviews 68: content: My hair is very curly and I can straighten it fine but when its humid it goes really frizzy and curly again. I dont like using straighteners on it too often so thought this might be the answer to all my problems but how wrong I was . I watched so many tutorials and read so many reviews before purchasing such a costly item and was impressed as it was fairly easy to use and my hair was straight after using so went on a night out hair looking good wasn't raining so it didn't get wet spent the night watching a band in a pub and was quite warm and sticky but omg couldnt believe how I looked at the end of the night it was embarrassing my hair had puffed up to about 5 times its size and just looked a big frizzy mess. Following morning I used on the dry mode again straightend my hair out reasonably well and went out to walk the dog for 15 minutes but came back looking like worzel gummidge. I've used heat protection tried them on cool heat and hot heat but just seems to make my hair more porous and looks worse then ever. I expected more from such an expensive piece of kit if I could give these minus 5 stars I would.

detailedReviews 69: content: I bought this several months ago as a TSV. I wasn't expecting to keep it, but I did want to try it to see how it could possibly work! I have long blonde highlighted hair with a natural wave, and I sometimes leave it wavy but I also like to straighten it. It usually takes me a good hour or so until it is 'properly' straight. With the Airstrait it takes me around 30 minutes from soaking wet to completely dry and straight. It took me a while to get the technique correct, and it is quite heavy. The results are worth it, though! I only use hair oil on my hair, no other products, and I find that my hair is soft and shiny after use, and shine is hard to achieve on blonde highlighted hair. It is expensive, but again I think it is well worth the price. I really thought I would send it back, but it is one of my favourite purchases from QVC.

detailedReviews 70: content: I wasn't sure how much difference this would make to my hair (as it is already naturally fairly straight) however I was very pleasantly surprised - the Dyson Airstrait is incredible, an absolute game changer! It has reduced drying and styling time by half.
I have long coloured hair which is fairly dry and has some damage from the blonde colour, therefore my hair doesn't look particularly shiny, however this tool helped me to achieve really healthy looking shiny hair! In addition to this, my hair often gets quite tangled and it was definitely less tangled after using it. I don't like to use much extreme heat on my hair, so the fact that this tool doesn't use extreme heat is a huge bonus and means I will feel more comfortable using it more often than my normal straighteners.
I'm not very good at styling my hair normally and it generally takes quite a bit of time for me to do it nicely, so I thought it was going to take me a while to get used to the Dyson Airstrait however it was SO easy to set up and start using! You can also do big bits of hair at a time which makes it really quick to get through longer / thicker hair compared to normal straighteners. The tongs clip together to create a hairdryer which means you can properly dry the roots (I was initially a bit worried about not being able to dry them properly but this was not an issue at all, the hair dryer is fantastic). I love that these can be used on both wet or dry hair - they are also perfect on dry hair after the gym which needs a bit of a touch up but not a proper wash. 5* - Highly recommend these!!

detailedReviews 71: content: I have very very thick hair and hate the thought of ruining my curls with heat. The air straight is the first time I have ever actually enjoyed doing my hair. It works so fast, is easy to use, and honestly life changing. I don’t see myself using any of my other hair tools ever again. I was skeptical because this is a big purchase but I would 100% recommend. I got this over the air wrap because I need to condense the volume of my hair and make it not so heavy. If I feel like having it more wavy, I use the air straight and straighten and follow with heat less curls using socks. Overall, I would say the volume of your natural hair depends on which device to get. Having a lot of hair, the air straight is perfect for me.

detailedReviews 72: content: My natural hair type is wavy and kind of coarse. I typically use both a blow dryer and a straightener every single day, so I decided to purchase this.
I will say I love the blow dryer enough to keep this.
The straightener is extremely clunky and therefore is hard to get it close to your roots/head for a good straighten. Forget even trying to get baby hairs or even really bangs. It’s like a sleeker blow out but definitely doesn’t compare to a real hot iron.
If I’m having a casual day and I don’t care too much how I look, I’ll use this and I feel presentable.
If I have actual plans, I’ll use this but also touch up with a real hot iron.
I know some people don’t want to spend that much money if they’re still going to need two appliances, and that’s understandable. But I feel like my hair was getting so damaged it was worth keeping.

detailedReviews 73: content: Love love love this! I have fine, relatively straight long shoulder length hair but unless I spend ages blow drying it properly to get it straight, its usually slightly messy so I normally use straighteners to finish the style - this can be damaging so I usually use heat protectants on my hair. This allows me to do both at the same time.
My first impression when opening the box was that it was really heavy compared to my usual straighteners but the majority of the weight is in the plug - the actual straighteners are light and easy to use. It can take a while to completely dry my hair if I dry it more or less straight out of the shower - for me, I get better results if I've left my hair to air dry a little bit. My hair isn't as poker straight and flat as when using traditional straighteners but I prefer it this way - it looks more natural. I don't get the volume at the roots that I would get from using a hairdryer first but that's something I'm willing to compromise on.
One thing you need to know though - if you normally use your straighteners to create curls, this doesn't have the same results, or at least I've not managed to master that yet....
The packaging is what you'd expect from Dyson - all paper/ cardboard so environmentally friendly and if you've ever used a Dyson hairdryer, you'll relate to the heat control, air/ dust vent etc - I was able to work out how to use it without reading the instructions. The heat resistant pad is a nice touch - no more placing them on my tile floor to prevent anything getting damaged.

detailedReviews 74: content: This is my first Dyson hair tool and I was really unsure about the expense, and whether this would work on my hair. My hair is naturally wavy / curly and is heavily coloured (scalp bleach with vivid colour applied on top). I took the plunge after getting fed up of seeing hot straighteners strip the colour from my hair. I am so glad I did. This product is so useful on the days I want my hair to be straight. It takes me about 15 minutes from damp to dry and straight which is awesome as in the past I have always had to dry it (and it would be a bit puffy) then straighten to get the look I wanted which always took a lot longer. It's so easy to use. I have had tons of compliments on my hair since I started to use it. It doesn't damage my hair which already takes a beating due to my colour choices, and importantly for me, it doesn't strip the vivid colour and leave my hair dull. Worth the money.

detailedReviews 75: content: I have researched this product for a year, desperately waiting for it to come to NZ. Thought I’d try it out and send it back if it’s not right for my hair. Most products don’t work on my hair so I wasn’t terribly hopeful. But I literally tried it once, and that was it, I’m keeping it!
I have fine hair, but lots of it, and it’s frizzy thanks to a lifetime obsession with blonde highlights. Even rain in the forecast days away will make my hair lose all control.
This product is amazing, my hair has never behaved so well! Just a little bit of oil afterwards to top it off and I’m good for the day and then just a 5 min touch up on day 2.
I wouldn’t say it was faster than a hair dryer and then straightener, but that might just be me still getting the hang of it. I actually look forward to wash days now, I’m excited to use it, and I look like someone who’s spent ages on their hair. If I can use it, anyone can!

detailedReviews 76: content: I bought the Dyson Airstait to compliment my other Dyson hair appliances. I am always looking for hair appliances that reduce heat damage.
I am an Afro-Caribbean woman; my natural hair texture is a mix between Asian and Afro-Caribbean, very full with loose curls but frizzy if not managed.
The Dyson Airstait took a little while to handle, but once I got into it, I have never seen the ends of my hair so straight after blow-drying—no frizz. My hair is so soft, too. It's pricey, but I do recommend it. It straightened my natural hair with no frizz and no need to use my Dyson Corrale. I can keep that for special occasions.
The look and feel of this product are great. I only wish there was a fuchsia pink to match my Corrale and Airwrap.

detailedReviews 77: content: I've had my Dyson Airstrait for almost a week now and to say I'm impressed is an understatement. I have very fine (baby fine) and thin shoulder length, coloured hair which, for the best part of my 55 years has been close to impossible to keep looking great all day long. The back of my head has the tendency to end up looking like a bird's nest a few hours after styling, which results in me spending half the day with my hair pulled back with a scrunchie (which then results in breakage).
With the arrival of the Airstrait, I am now able to sport sleek, shiny and straight hair (no bird's nest) all day long. No longer do I need to wash and style my hair on a daily basis - I have found I can freshen up my style with the Airstrait in the morning (something that has been very difficult to achieve in the past).
I am already a Dyson Hair Tool junkie - having owned the Supersonic Hair Dryer since it was first released in 2016, followed by purchasing the AirWrap in 2019. I still love (and use) both, however, the Airstrait is quickly becoming my go to tool.

It's not curly, it's not straight, it's just meh. I have the airwrap, and that's great for curls, but the smoothing brush isn't enough meaning I still need to flat iron, which negates the whole idea of less heat on my hair. I really wanted to hate this. But it is life altering. Literally. Took me about 15 mins from wet to dry, straight, soft, and shiny. Still in disbelief at how much it looks like a great blowout 3 days post shampoo. Is it a little heavy? Absolutely, I had to take a break midway through. detailedReviews 79: content: I bought this hoping that it would be the GOAT, but unfortunately, it did not work for me. I liked that it was a dryer and straightener all in one machine, but the end result was not the sleek, shiny hair that I get with my flatiron, even using the boost setting. It also took longer that my Dyson dryer and flatiron. Others found this machine to be heavy and unwieldy, but I didn't. It did take a few tries on a few sections, to get the angle right. Although it doesn't touch the roots, they still dried marginally straight. I used it enough times to realize it just didn't work to tame my curls in the way that I like, I had to follow up with my flatiron, so what's the point? detailedReviews 80: content: Bought this mainly for my 11 year old who struggled to dry and straighten her own unruly hair. Took a few attempts to master but can honestly say I love it. My mid length hair goes form soaking wet to silky straight in 20 minutes. Been using for around a month now and my hair is definitely looking in better condition after ditching the straightners. Much less flyaways and frizz and my hair seems to be less impacted by humidity. The only disadvantage for me is that it it leaves my hair without any volume, but fine for days where I'm going for the silky straight look. The key I've found is to blast each section from the root down until 75% dry before running down them with the plates, otherwise it does take much longer to dry. Definitely have no regrets in buying these, even despite the price tag.

Separate top half and bottom half, blow dry quickly where the boarder is then start straightening. Move onto top half. Easy, job done. I no longer need to blow dry and make sure my hair is properly dried for hair straightener. If you are looking for purely for straightening your hair without damaging it I highly recommend this. detailedReviews 83: content: This is a game changer. I have always struggled with the necessary commitment to dry and straighten my hair. It took a fair bit of time and sectioning and the next day it was frizzy again anyway. I have the Dyson straightener and it is super quick and easy to straighten the ends (less than 5 minutes in the morning) but from wet it was still a nightmare and took ages. Then I got this. I wash my hair and in large sections run the Airstrait through and in about 5 minutes it is laser straight, soft and shiny. I turn to cold and run over it again quickly and the frizz stays away. They are wrong when it says it is 25% less time. I would say it is more like 75% quicker and it lasts for days. My only comment is that the box is a let down with no organisation in it. Basically just an open box and lid which is not as tidy as Dyson's other storage boxes.

I have the nickle/copper addition it looks very sleek its not heavy about as heavy as a Dyson dryer. The digital display is well lit and clear though to get the most out of the airstrait I went on the Dyson website for more information on it.
I have mediumish length hair which is layered and coloured if it dries naturally it kinks. Using the airstrait after applying my colour protect styling creamI I found my drying/styling time cut by half. Hair is straight, smooth, soft and shiney. Love the 2 in 1 step of drying and straightening without the use of straighners. When goingfrom wet to dry I recommend sectioning hair.
Used on dry hair to touch up style again a good straight result. I love the cold button to set your style. I have also managed to put a slight bend on the end of my hair which I like.
The sidedryer used for drying roots and rough drying is very poweful I think more poweful than the Dyson Airwrap.Love the way the appliance goes into idle mode when put down though you have a heat mat to protect surfaces.
Only have small issues with the airstait the cable isnt long enough the plug is heavy noticed when I finished drying my hair it was working its way out of the wall socket. If the airstrait opened a little more could get more hair in. Feel for the cost a case or bag could of been included to protect the appliance.
Overall I am impressed it does what its name says very well.

For the purpose of this review, I will refer only to the airatrait: Boy, it did not disappoint! It dries hair to a "natural" straight, leaving it damage free, cool to the touch and feeling silky smooth! I honestly am so impressed and even managed to surprise hubby with its clever engineering.
My only bone to pick with this is the charger head and although I understand that it is for safety, it is very awkward in a bathroom environment...

detailedReviews 86: content: I bought this as a gift for my wife who never asked, wanted or heard of it. Because of this, her expectations were low. After all, what Dyson promises with this dryer/straightener seems too good to be true. I on the other hand, I had high expectations. To be fair, it's not cheap and high price tags don't always mean you're getting a superior product. For that kind of money, it better be. I took advantage of Best Buys Drops that saved me a lot on it so I thought it would be worth a try.
My wife has thick, long, wavy, course hair that not only takes longer to wash but takes even longer to dry and straighten. She loves having absolutely straight hair and will go through her hair multiple times with her traditional flat iron before she's happy. All the while, the heat can be damaging which means we keep a regular supply of products for repairing and protecting her hair.
Just after trying the Dyson once, we were both left in shock how well and how quickly it worked. She had dry and perfectly straight hair in 15 minutes; a process that normally took well over 30 minutes before. Even better, breakage and fly-aways was pretty non-existent. The most impressive part was how well it held, never having to come back minutes or hours later to touch-up. We could tell a difference after she slept on it too because it still required little or no straightening. She absolutely loves it and I believe her hair does too because it's noticably healthier just after a couple of weeks of use.
I waited until after she used it the first time before revealing how much I paid. I was expecting the "OMG" response followed by the demand to return it but to my surprise, that never happened. She and I agree that it's worth it because it's leaps and bounds better than the countless dryers and straighteners she's used in the past.
The true value isn't the product itself but rather the time my wife saves from doing the one thing she doesn't enjoy.
If you can justify the cost on those grounds, then it's worth the investment. Otherwise there are plenty of cheaper alternatives with the same outcome but they may cost more in the long run. I'll conclude with this; Dyson has made us believers.

detailedReviews 87: content: I am not the kind of girl to spend a lot of money on hair. My blowdryer is an old $20 Revlon from who knows when and my Chi hair straightener was my splurge item at $100. I have thick, dark, medium, 2c curl pattern hair and dread the hour it takes after a shower to style it with a round brush and hair dryer if I want it straight to avoid having to put in the cocktail of product to avoid a frizzy mop. I've tried the Revlon One Step Volumizer tool and it only saved me 5ish minutes.
With 15% rewards for my VIB membership, I thought why not try it? If it did not work in the slightest, it was going to go right back. If I like it, I get a little bit off discount.
This thing is high-tech, has a neat cleaning function every time you turn it on, and shuts off when you set it on the counter. There are options for straightening dry hair or wet hair and 3 heat settings and one cool setting.
At nearly $500, I wasn't here to mess around. I got out of the shower, hair sopping wet, tossed in a bit of smoothing creme, and set this thing to stun (highest heat setting 275 degrees on wet hair mode). It took me less than 25 minutes to get my entire head completely dry and straight. Compared to the usual hour, this is a gamechanger for me. My hair was straight with still some volume which is how I prefer it, but I suspect if I wanted it stick straight, I could just spend another 5-10 min quick pass through with my hair straightener.
Cons: It's heavier than a typical hair straightener but the strain for me is far less than from my round brush and hair dryer. It is expensive and I am privileged to be able to splurge on this at this point in my life.
Time is valuable to me, and with an extra 35 minutes of my life back, it is worth the price.

detailedReviews 88: content: I've got wavy hair, and this Airstrait straightener really does cut my styling time in half. It's more of a hair dryer-straightener mix as it uses airflow to dry and straighten, instead of hot plates which only cause damage. It's so clever - you clamp your hair in the straightener which increases the airflow and when you release, the airflow decreases. It also has a 'rough dry' mode which you can use before you clamp and straighten - I use this mostly for the roots of my hair to ensure it's roughly dried before going in with the clamps, maximising the volume of my hair. It also comes with a heat resistant mat to pop it down in between use.
It's really easy to set up and use, lightweight to hold, and looks sleek. I usually always use my heat protector spray before I style. This gives you a salon blow dry sleek finish, but within half the time. My hair feels smooth and looks shiny. It doesn't come in a box to store away, but you could use the box it's packaged and protected in. I think you could definitely travel with it too - it could easily fit into a suitcase. I don't always love the way typical straighteners give such a flat finish to my hair - I prefer the blow dry look, and the Airstrait does just that. Overall, I would highly recommend the Airstrait straightener - it gives you a salon like finish to your hair, in half the time.

detailedReviews 89: content: I have quite fine, fairly long straight hair. The instructions that you could sweep the air strait slowly over wet hair twice to make it dry and straight didn’t work for me. It didn’t save me time as I had to go back over it with straighteners anyway. I love the Dyson range I have the corale and nural and think this combination is so much better. I also have a fringe and it’s almost impossible to manoeuvre the tool to dry and straighten my fringe so again I needed my hairdryer and straighteners. I’ve tried it about 4 times now, I’ll give it another go purely because I usually love Dyson products but if it’s the same I will likely return it. It’s a great concept but in practice doesn’t work for me. The plug is also very large so finding somewhere to plug it in is a small challenge in itself.

detailedReviews 90: content: This is becoming my favorite Dyson hair tool - I also have the AirWrap and blow dryer. The reasons: the performance is great without damaging my hair and a huge bonus is that the tool is quiet, especially compared to similar tools. I have received many compliments about my hair looking shinier and healthier after using this technology for a few weeks now. The functionality with wet and dry is extremely handy. I usually don't feel like drying my hair after the shower, but this is so quick, it has made the process more manageable. The heating is great on both wet and dry, and I appreciate that it doesn't feel like my hair is singing or burning. The design is sleek and it looks SO good in my bathroom, I actually leave it out on display.

detailedReviews 91: content: It is one of best hair styling inventions. I have difficult hair that is an ordeal to wash and dry. Although it doesn’t give the same shine as straighteners I either dry it fully from wet with the airstrait or dry it on a lower setting and then use my airwrap to add a bit of volume or shape. The best thing is half an hour later it hasn’t frizzed which used to happen even though I thought I had thoroughly dried my hair. It is quicker from the start and reliably smooths my hair so that I can either leave as is or style with curl. It is amazing. It’s the way it seems to stop my hair frizzing that I can’t believe. Well worth it for that alone and without extreme heat! Cons - it could be lighter and my hand can get tired clamping it together but not enough for me to give it less than 5 stars. I would recommend it.

detailedReviews 92: content: So I ordered a refurbished Dyson Airstrait for $425. I really could not justify $700. It took 6 days to come and we had a long weekend in between. Came in a plain box with registration stuff for the warranty. Nothing else came in the box but I don’t need a fancy box and mat for an extra 280 bucks. I have just used in thick long curly red hair that is super frizzy I did use a heat protector and styling cream. Super easy to do and my hair has never felt so good and looked so shiny I think it took 30 mins and that was me not knowing what I was really doing although had watched some YouTubes. So so pleased it’s not just a hype. It really is very good and buying from Best Buy in Canada and it’s shipped from Dyson outlet via Purolator. Superb service.

detailedReviews 93: content: I got this from my partner on boxing day sale and i’m so glad I had waited till it was on sale because honestly I don’t think I would be too happy if it’d been full price.
My hair isn’t that thick, shoulder length, naturally quite frizzy and wavy. I find it hard to really get the roots straight and my baby hairs around my ears - if I want my hair to be straight for the day I usually have to use the heat setting not cold or else it won’t hold I also find I have to use it in the lounge or an open area with an open window because it can get quite smoky when I use it wet or dry.
However, even though these are the cons I have found I am still I glad i’ve gotten it as it makes styling my hair so much easier and quicker. I’m not frying my hair as much as what I would with my normal GHD hair straightener - my hair does look visibly better since using it. I think I also just need a better anti frizz product for my hair.
Have included photos of my hair before and after - took about 15-20 mins to get from wet to dry on one side.

detailedReviews 94: content: I bought this a month ago. So far, this has been my best purchase from Dyson. It's an amazing product that has made my life so easy. It used to take almost 70 mins to dry and style my very thick hairs, but with this product it only takes me 30mins. I don't have to wait to dry my hair, it works so well on wet hairs and that too without damaging. Not only it saves me time and energy but it syle my long thick hairs so well that they stay like that until next wash, no friz, no need to touch up. I'm also very happy to share that this has saved me money that I had to spend on hair products such as heat protect and styling oil etc. Also, not to forget, it solves the purpose of both dryer and straightner so only one gadget to carry when going on a holiday. Its an amazing technology, I would highly recommend this product.

detailedReviews 95: content: I own every dyson hair product on the market but this is my favourite. I would normally blow dry then straighten my frizzy, thick, wavy hair after washing and straighten again daily when I get up in the mornings. Since purchasing the Dyson air strait, I’ve not used my straighteners once! This product leaves my hair shiny and smooth without any waves or frizziness after washing. It doesn’t reach the root, as other reviews have pointed out but I give them a quick blast first with its general drying function before using it as a dryer/straightener. It can also be used on dry hair so there’s no need to use straighteners at all. My hair feels and looks healthier and although I can’t say it reduces styling time it makes it easier only having to use one product. The battery life on the Dyson cordless straighteners is awful too so having this plug in to the mains is definitely a bonus. The only thing I’d change is making the mains cord longer but this is just me being picky. My hair looks and feels better than it has in years. I read some poor reviews so it took me a while to make this purchase but I wish I’d have got it sooner. It’s amazing! I use give me products on my hair which also helps to prevent damage caused by heat products and colouring. This product has definitely made a huge difference to my hair, reducing breakage and minimising damage due to constant straightening.

detailedReviews 96: content: I had been using my new Dyson Airstrait for one week and I am hooked. I had my doubts that my heat damaged, colour treated, frizzy hair could not be tamed with anything other than my straighteners but I was wrong. The Airstrait dries, straightens and cools my hair very quickly and really nicely without making it feel burnt and overheated.
My Airstrait was surprisingly easy to use, I downloaded the "quick user guide" App and was good to go. Despite its large size it was light and easy to hold. I needed some extra practice for the roots and I made the mistake of pointing the vent upwards a couple of times which instantly tangled my hair. Once I got the knack, it became easier and quicker.
I did not achieve the instant shine which I get with my straightener but my hair looks straight, feels soft and has very little frizz. There was a little static at the end but this settled very quickly.
The Airstrait does not come with a case so look after the eco-friendly box it arrived with so that you can store it, and be mindful that the extra-large plug it comes with, may not fit into the wall socket if it's too close to the skirting. I had to use an extension lead to overcome this problem.
All in all, I am impressed with my Dyson Airstrait and have already recommended it to family and friends.

title: I had been using my new Dyson Airstrait...
detailedReviews 97: content: As someone with curly-ish hair that is prone to feel dry & frizz; I have been looking for the perfect straighteners for many years. What I have found in the Airstrait is a hairdryer that can achieve a straight finish in a very quick time.
I used mine on my wet hair (simply towel dried) after using a heat defence / anti-frizz serum. I simply sectioned my hair and then carried on. I read a review which advised you to aim to let the Airstrait do the hard work - move slowly and aim to pass your hair through as few times as possibly - I would agree with this advice completely. What I achieved is straight blow dried hair in a quick time with no frizz and no need for straighteners.
The main positives are how soft my hair felt; how quickly my hair was dry (time saved by not having to straighten after blow drying); & the overall easy use of the Airstrait. In true Dyson style - the controls are easy to use. The condition of my hair is a big plus. No direct hot plates really does make it feel super soft (this is on hair that I would describe as damaged and dry).
The negatives... size of plug (it is huge so you might struggle to plug it in if your sockets are near your skirting boards, but the large plug means that what you hold in your hand is lighter and well balanced... unlike some massive hairdryers); the price (quite an investment but I am thinking of the time saved and witha five month old this is priceless for me); lastly... these are great for me as I never style my hair curly. But overall; the positives outweigh. especially that piece of mind that my hair health may improve with less heat damage over time - a big win in my book.

detailedReviews 98: content: I'd considered buying these for some time, as I use straighteners everyday and was mindful of the damage to my hair. I'd put all sorts of serums and split end creams to prevent further damage and whilst it helped, my hair still wasn't in great condition. I've got wavy unruly hair that's really frizzy so I looked for an alternative. I was quite dubious about Dyson straighteners as I didn't think they'd work as well as straighteners but there was no need for any doubts as the results are amazing.
This really was the best purchase I've made in a long time. Not only does it help prevent the damage previous straighteners made, but it feels softer and lighter. I'm so pleased with them. I'd 100% recommend.

detailedReviews 99: content: I've been using the Dyson AirStraight for about 5 weeks and I have waited to give a review. I have fine, wavy, coloured treated hair which has a tendency to frizz, and I wash my hair every 3 days. Whilst I personally don't get the ultrasmooth finish that I do with my GHD straightener, the fact that I can style my towel dried hair in under 10 minutes - and I don't get hot doing so in this summer heat - has made my morning routine so simple. I have used the recommended Dyson pre-style cream, but I have found that my hair is softer and straighter when using my Bumble and Bumble Invisible Oil primer instead so I won't be purchasing that again. My hair maintains what looks like a salon blow dry for the days in between washing, and my hair never holds a blowdry! If you are looking for a styling option to simplify your routine, I definitely recommend this product.

detailedReviews 100: content: Love love love my Dyson Airstrait.
I had the Dyson Airwrap, but found I only used the drying brush attachment as the curling barrels gave me flyaways, so i used a barrel curler.
It was so bulky and I wasn't using it to it's full potential so I sold it and replaced with a GHD hair dryer. This gave me really fluffy hair as I struggle to get a smooth blow dry. This also made my extensions really obvious, as I got extensions after losing my hair to chemo so my own hair is about half as long as my extensions.
I was delighted when I used the airstrait. My hair was so smooth and straight and not fluffy at all. It was easy to use, and even the first time using it I was much faster than the standard hair dryer and brush method.
I am really happy with it.
