detailedReviews: detailedReviews 1: content: My 1st iPad was purchased on April 3, 2010, the release date of the original model. This iPad Air M2 is #5. My uses for them has grown over the last 14 1/12 years such that the current model is a near laptop replacement. It garners more usage daily than my Intel-based MacBook Air and has surpassed my iPhone for many tasks.
256GB storage, 8Gb ram, and Apple Intelligence make it eminently useful especially with the Apple Pencil and a keyboard case. Lighter, more portable, faster, longer battery life, and with a screen that is brighter and sharper than the MB Air, it is taking over more daily tasks. The tablet it replaced, an 8 1/2 year old (original) iPad Pro 9.7, seems closer to the iPad Gen 1 than this model.
Highly recommend. In use for 13 days. Consider the Air M2 over the Pro M4 unless you really need the extra power and features.

detailedReviews 2: content: Apple is a known quantity. The design, screen, speakers, rear camera, and fingerprint scanner are all carried over from the 2020 model. The updated front-facing camera with Apple’s Center Stage feature can be found across the entire iPad line. It’s compatible with all the same cases, keyboard, and stylus accessories as before. New processor and 5G aside, the iPad Air remains the iPad for those looking for a nicer tablet than the base model, but don’t necessarily want to spend the cost or need all the bells and whistles of the iPad Pro. It’s got a modern design, more performance than most people will know what to do with in a tablet, and an excellent screen that works equally well in portrait or landscape orientation. It’s not the iPad I’d recommend wholly replacing a laptop with, though it can work for certain laptop-like tasks when paired with an optional keyboard case. It’s the nicer iPad for those looking to do iPad things, like reading, watching video, playing games, taking notes, and perhaps writing the occasional email but aren’t planning on making it their only computing device.

detailedReviews 3: content: I decided to finally retire my iPad Pro after 8 years to buy this instead of a new pro (which is too expensive for a casual user). I find the 11” size to be perfect for reading, surfing and streaming (a nice improvement). The M2 chip ensures smooth performance and has twice the processing power of regular iPad (16 vs 8 core neural engines). I was surprised that my speakers on the 8 year old iPad Pro sounded better than the new Air. The landscape front camera great for video calls makes this a better choice than the iPad. The WiFi connection is better than the regular iPad as it is an upgraded 6E vs 5. While I don’t use the pencil, it supports the latest version unlike the regular iPad. Buy this if you want an upgraded experience compared to the iPad but don’t want to spend $1,000+ on the premium Pro.

detailedReviews 4: content: Picked this up as an upgrade from an M1-powered iPad Pro (that I have to a family member), and it’s in a home that also has an M2 MadBook Air. My experience contrasts my iPad Pro M1 ownership and our MacBook.
Honestly, the “cuts” from a Pro to an Air are hard for a regular user to notice. If you want the power of a Pro without the steep cost, an Air is fantastic.
M-series Apple devices are strong enough for anything you want to throw at them. In real-world use, this iPad is nearly as strong as the MacBook in similar tasks. You lose MacOS and the obvious laptop-specific perks, but you gain a super-capable tablet that you can pair with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse if you really needed to do laptop-type work.
Overall very happy - they’re still pricey, but they might be the best bang-for-the-buck compared to Pro and vanilla iPads. Worth picking up on sale.

detailedReviews 5: content: Upgraded from iPad 9th gen and yes the difference is bigger than just an upgrade. If you can afford to go to this from the iPad definitely worth the invest. Sound stereo on landscape mode so finally you can listen to your music as it should be-stereo versus normal iPad mono sound one speaker. .The display even with 60 Hz looks amazing .Tasks can be executed fast, good camera for teams etc ,battery lasts ,generally a great all around device that can be easily loaded on the back pack for commuting or accompanying for flights vacation etc.
If you have Mac books pro or so and you need portability just go for this and save your money from going to the pro .
Tip to make a decision this versus cellular version : iPad Air doesnt have GPS receiver ! Make sure if want to go with the version cellular that only version has a GPS included and can be used also for marine like Navionics ,aviation etc which the normal air version cannot locate the position accurately -has to be within only wifi networks crowded (cities ) in order to give an exactly location. If you are up into the mountains or other stand alone places or driving /moving with no networks around it can just cannot locate with accuracy even with tethering data from your phone . Excellent solution for the Air no cellular version to have GPS capability and if you don't care about the cellular network is the Garmin Glo 2 external GPS + Glonass transmitter.110-140 e . Have no idea why no-one talks about this critical subject in these products.Hope I helped.

detailedReviews 6: content: I was going to upgrade from my iPad mini 6 to the mini 7 but the spec bump was not enough to justify the price. John Lewis had this iPad Air on offer with £40 off the list price so it was just slightly more expensive than the new iPad mini 7. What's not to like? It has a super fast M2 chip and will be AI compatible. The images are sharper and clearer and the refresh rate is quicker than my iPad mini 6. I opted for the 11 inch as it's still portable, the 13 inch screen would be too big for me. The only downside is that my apple pencil 2 is not compatible and so it's an added cost getting the Apple Pencil Pro, also no plug suppled so you need to buy a 20W USB-C plug if you don't have one. The braided cable supplied is a nice touch. I like the larger screen compared to my old iPad mini and the battery life on the iPad Air is far better. Apple products are built to last a long time. I'm hoping my new iPad will give me 5 years of use or more before needing to upgrade again. In all I'm happy with my purchase.

detailedReviews 7: content: This is a powerful yet relatively affordable tablet. The M2 chip, which Apple included in the previous generation of the iPad Pro, remains a strong performer even two years later. It delivers more than enough power for any typical tablet use. When comparing the iPad Air M2 to the iPad Pro M2, I found that the iPad Air offers nearly all the essential features and performance of the iPad Pro, but at a lower cost. The tablet is very thin and light, the screen is plenty bright, and I can use many of the same accessories that I used with my iPad Pro 3rd Gen. Overall, I find this tablet to be a solid performer, and it’s great to use for essentially everything that I use my tablet for.

detailedReviews 8: content: I've been an android tablet and phone user for a decade. I bought the iPad Air because I needed access to some apps and pubs that were exclusive to Apple's walled garden. After a couple of months of experience I don't understand the Apple cult. I mean, it's good, but so are Samsung's. On certain functions, like handwriting-to-text (Apple's "Scribble" function), Samsung and Google GBoard are just much better. I was really surprised Apple's implementation of that was so weak. The app experience is o.k. I miss the absence of a "close all" function to shut down all my open apps. Battery performance is o.k., about 8 hours of use, comparable to other tablets. My major complaint with Apple generally--they make it hard for people who have to have a foot in both camps, like those who prefer Apple for a home device but have to use Windows at work (like about everyone who works for a large company or government). Apple Notes, for example, may be a great product on the iPad but it's not cross-platform so I can't really use it. Overall, I'm less than impressed. My professional artist daughter, however, loves hers for the art app she uses, so there's that. But I would not recommend this item for someone not already invested in Apple's ecosystem.

detailedReviews 9: content: I’m usually skeptical and on the fence about buying new electronics since there’s always newer versions and i’m not to techy savvy, but the 2024 Ipad Air actually does live up to its expectations!
I ordered this during the holidays for my family business/ personal use to have easy access to the things we use on a constant daily basis,
it is convenient and does not have too small of a screen but also not too big or bulky. it’s very light weight, and runs pretty fast and smooth in comparison to the Ipad Pro i was considering getting.
The battery lasts an amazingly long time (it’s been about two weeks since my purchase upon reviewing)
I’m happy with my purchase and glad i went with the Ipad Air instead of the Pro; which of course varies from person to person depending on everyone’s needs!
If you’re trying to make a decision between the three ipads like i was, this will definitely be your best decision when it comes to daily use especially if it’s for your business, schooling, or even app store games!
And on top of that, the ipad really just looks amazing and sleek,
The only thing it potentially lacked was more color options :-)

detailedReviews 10: content: I purchased this iPad after going to the store to find a new laptop whilst I’m between jobs, however once there didn’t really like any of the cheaper/mid range laptops and saw the shiny lilac iPad which caught my eye instead.
I’ve never actually purchased an iPad as I had no need for it, but I thought let’s have a play around could this maybe work instead of buying a whole new laptop that I’ll only use for work for a couple of months and then mostly for streaming in the bathtub.
The store owner let me play on the device in test mode so I could see if it would be too fiddly for documents but using everything on Google drive makes it super easy to do. And everything from my iPhone is just there and easy too.
It’s lightweight, fast and good for quality streaming.
I use a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for working on job applications/documents.
Can’t wait to use it on holiday travels as it’s much more contact than a laptop too!

The set-up was a breeze, with the device prompting me through moving everything over. It took less than an hour to have everything done and me being able to work on it.
The finger sensor works much better than I expected, and has far less unrecognized than the old home button did. Getting used to some new gestures to help with efficiency is not too challenging, and the tips help keep it very basic to show me what I need for different areas.
I've worked with multiple apps open and switching is pretty easy. Processing speed feel much faster than before, which is to be expected. Over all, not unhappy one bit!

detailedReviews 18: content: I 'umm'ed and 'arr'ed about which new iPad to purchase - top of range or something easier on the wallet.. I rely on reviews considerably so read as many as possible before deciding on this model. Of course it depends on what you'll be using it for - I mostly use mine to play games, browse the internet and shopping. Plus watch the occasional film...
So, the 2024 Apple iPad Air 11" M2 is lightweight, just the right size (for me) synched across with ease and is a pleasure to use. Screen is hi-res and beautiful, highly responsive - what more can I say? Yes very pleased with my iPad. Though the camera is more than good enough for me, if you want the top range camera, then I'd say model up - so, for me, its really a toy/research tool, if you want an iPad for work or more 'serious' projects then maybe look more top range.

detailedReviews 20: content: When on sale this is an absolute steal. The M3 version has marginally less power than the M4 pro. Doubtful most will ever use the power. The screen is excellent, although not as good as the M4 pro screen. You pay a big premium for that M4 OLED screen. All the other specs are close enough to the M4 to make it a challenger at far less. Compared to the A16 iPad, the M3 Air is far superior in many ways. Although screen resolution is the same as the iPad Air, lack of lamination makes the screen less useful. And the base iPad is too slow for Apple Inteligence. I added the Zagg pencil (for note takingonly). And I added the older version of the Logitech M2 Pro keyboard, at a great discount. I trimmed the case adjacent volume keys and adjacent the Touch ID, and it’s a perfect fit for a fraction of the price. Literally the spec on the size of the M2 Pro matches the M3 Air. And the Logitech keyboard is unbelievable snug and fit, without being too tight. All this is good enough for everything including editing Final Cut Pro projects. It’s kind of amazing !!!

title: M3 Air is a steal on sale
detailedReviews 21: content: This iPad Air M3 is a really solid device. If you use an iPad Air to consume videos, surf the web or respond to emails, you'll be impressed. The screen is not as bright or sharp as an iPad Pro, but it's still excellent. The build quality is outstanding, as one would expect from Apple.
But this iPad exists in an odd space in the Apple lineup. And why is the iPad "Air" chunkier than the iPad Pro?
If one cares about display quality (OLED) and performance (M4 chip), you can get an iPad Pro for only a couple hundred more for the same specs. The Pro has the brighter, OLED display and a higher refresh rate, making scrolling smoother and text sharper. And, oddly, the iPad Pro is LIGHTER than the AIR. Go figure.
If one primarily cares about price, the regular iPad is plenty capable enough for most people and it has a Liquid Retina display similar to the Air.
The Air occupies a weird middle ground in the iPad lineup. I bought this as a secondary iPad in the home, and for that purpose this is just fine.

detailedReviews 22: content: I've always loved iPads. When my older 2020 iPad Air took a hard fall, it was clear that I had to purchase another, so I got the M2. I store a lot of video, so I got the 256gb version.
I use the iPad Air every day. The display is crisp. It's a lot faster than I thought it would be, and it's light. Although they claim you can use the older Apple Pencil (2nd gen.), this version didn't seem to like it. It might be because I couldn't unpair it from my older destroyed iPad Air.
Anyway, I wasn't ready to dump another $130 on a new pencil, so I got a compatible magnetic charging pen off of Amazon. It works perfect.
The great thing is that it works great with my old Apple Magic Keyboard. I considered purchasing an iPad Pro, but I wasn't ready to dump another $330 for a keyboard. My wife has the iPad Air Pro M4, and although it's faster than the iPad Air M2, it wasn't enough to be a deal breaker.
All in all, the iPad Air M2 is a great tablet. I had my older iPad Air for 4 years before it got destroyed, and I loved it. I expected this iPad to match or exceed it. It already does.

detailedReviews 23: content: First the bad news. If you are, like me, upgrading from a previous iPad and think your Apple Pencil will work, think again. You WILL need the Pro Pencil, you could get away with the USB C charging Pencil if on a budget. That said, the new iPad Air is fast, I'm comparing to my old iPad Pro, original, it's quite the jump. Better definition, faster screen movement, quicker access. The Pencil Pro is another jump and one I'm very happy with. Photos look great, games seem better and faster, messages and mail are quick. Attaching and editing photos with the apps is also a real boon. The ability to arrange apps is great and when switching from an existing Apple device, all you do is point the camera at the old device and that's it. You can of course set up manually if you want to, but why! The new Air is delightful, so pleased I made the jump. Unless you are using the iPad as a business tool the Air will work fine and fast, if you have the money, then, go Pro. Just remember, you'll need the Pro Pencil, you'll also want a screen protector, remember to buy the correct one, with the notch on the side! A case will be a must just to protect your new friend!

Why? Faster, much faster processor, increased memory. Same build quality. Slim and sleek. Transfer of everything from the "cloud" was simplicity. The basic memory may be more than most will ever need - but it's there if needed. Otherwise, extra cloud storage isn't that expensive.
Not the "pro". If you need that size - get a MacBook.

The Air is not only much much faster but has a bigger screen whilst not being much bigger overall. It also has no Home button, basically this means getting used to swiping up for the Home Screen and a five finger pinch for the app chooser. No big deal in exchange for greater screen real estate. The other major improvement is the adoption of USB-C for the charging port.

UPS delivery to approx one week from Ontario to BC near Vancouver.
Package arrived on time and no hassles with delivery.
Managed to start up the new iPad and had to charge right away as battery was at 5%.
Using the new feature to transfer all data and apps from the old to new was a breeze.
New iPad functions as it should. So far after a few hours use, we have no issues or concerns.
Open box offer saved $120.
iPad is still the best IMO. So easy to sync with all other devices in the house.

detailedReviews 32: content: I bought this iPad as an open box version. It was marked as excellent condition, which is checked by the Geek Squad, and they told no lies! It looked brand new! There were no scratches or marks on the device, it was reset to factory settings and ready for me to make it my own. The charging cable looked like it had been used a little but I will be buying a new one of those anyway because the ones that come with any Apple devices are way too short so that doesn't matter! Highly recommend going through Best Buy for open box items because they are vetted by the Geek Squad.

detailedReviews 34: content: Purchased this iPad for drawing after spending the last 6 years with an old, refurbished iPad Pro. Needless to say, this has been a major upgrade! It’s got great battery life and the upgraded pen is so much more convenient for charging on the side instead of having to plug it in and losing pieces. It’s also super lightweight, though a case does make it a little hefty — definitely recommended to keep it safe though! Buying the iPad with the Apple Pencil Pro also saved me quite a bit of money, which was really nice. I’m so glad to be back to digital drawing and not have to constantly struggle with an iPad that is clunky, outdated, and can hardly keep any battery life.

I find it super useful and seamless to use to transfer pictures and documents to my phone. It’s also super useful multitasking when facetiming or watching a video, the audio is incredibly high quality and the camera and screen quality are top notch. Easily the best $500 I’ve spent. detailedReviews 37: content: I have used iPads for a long time since I use them for my work. I sold my iPad mini in order to get this iPad air M2 11 inch 256gb, The iPad itself was very powerful, however, the iPad was sold to me with a touchscreen had a grounding issue. Meaning, if I didn't press with the flat part of my fingers it would not register my touch, this is a problem since I need to use a lot of multi touch gestures. If you were to plug in the iPad or touch the metal side of the iPad with your other hand, the touch would work great. Apparently the grounding issue is common with these air M2 iPads. I attempted to exchange this iPad for a functional one, however they decided that since I had purchased it on sale, and the only one left to get was a different color, I would have to pay an extra $100 for a color I didn't even want. So I returned it, because that is completely unfair to have to pay more money for a color I don't want, because they sold me a faulty device. All in all, if you are able to get this iPad without the screen issue, I think you'll be happy, although I seriously recommend going through apple themselves. That way if anything goes wrong they can directly swap it out for you and you wont have to deal with the poor BestBuy service.

detailedReviews 38: content: Had to wait for inventory to become available to ship. Finally got it 10 days ago. I wish I would have waited another week before purchasing it because then Apply announced the 11Gen 128GB which is the right memory size I want.
At the time of purchase 10Gen 256GB was only $70 cheaper than the Air6. Since Air6 is 2+ years newer, with a more powerful chip, I decided to get the Air instead, despite I dont use magic keyboard / pencil so is like paying for extra features that I dont need. However at only $70 higher Air6 is a better value.
The Air6 of course is good but it already has a few glitches that surprise me.
I already experienced a screen freeze when trying to add another email to the iCloud account. The pop up just froze, would not let me add or cancel. I had to use the power button to get out then returned to set up, and was relieve to see the pop up disappeared.
In fact before submitting this review I had yet another screen freeze in the Sign In and Security category of the Setting. It once again froze in that area, would not allow navigating to any category in the setting! Had to do a forced reboot by pressing power button and volume bottom together to induce the power off function. Then reboot the device to get out of the locked up jail!
Later I googled this issue, apparently it is a common issue on the Air because google Germini gave me the exact steps to get out of the jam.
Frankly I am rather disappointed by this glitch that apparently Apple is aware of it but never fixes it. So the users have to resort to forced reboot to get out of the jam. The iPad 10 Gen have not had such issue for its first 2 years of life, while this Air 6 is a brand new buy, less than 12 months old from its initial launch. Very disappointed.
Also it seems to often return to home screen by no apparent reasons despite I am actively using it, as in viewing a website. I dont know what causes such.
On top of that the screen gets DIRTY Very Very easily, much more so than my old iPad. I am not sure it is because the Air has no screen protector this moment because my Amazon order just arrived yesterday while the old iPad has a screen protector. It is rather annoying to have to clean the screen very often, else you can see the traces of dirty mark on the white background of a webpage.
Overall I feel the Air6 is a good product but it is not great, for a light user. It should be great for those heavily into using the pencil / magic keyboard. However, for a light user the new 11 Gen 128GB is a Much Better Value for the money at $349 vs the Air6 at $499 or the Air7 at $599.
I just hope this Air6 battery would last for 4 years like my prev iPads did until the batteries dying (easily heat up, causing the chip slows down or stops functioning completely until the iPad cools down.)
That said, I would still recommend this to a friend but I strongly feel for users who dont need the magic keyboard / pencil, then the current 11 Gen 128GB at $349 is a much better value.

Additionally, both screens have unresponsive areas, making them practically unusable. I am extremely disappointed with the quality of these products and feel like I have received defective items. Initial transfer of settings and data seemed to go smoothly, then the transfer got hung up. Apple logo symbol of death for hours--a complete stall-out. Tried repeatedly to repeat the process, but could never get a clean reboot or restore option. Online research indicates this is not an uncommon situation for iPads. Apple service replied promptly by phone, but after an hour of tethering my iPad to my Windows PC to use it as a pass-through device to get to a Restore option on the iPad, with no success, I was finally told to visit a Genius Bar for Apple in-person support or just return the device to Best Buy. No sign of this device in inventory in the Best Buy region. I'm anticipating endless hours getting this exchanged. What a complete nightmare. Seems can't count on Apple for a successful Christmas gift. I'm remembering why I dread upgrading tech products, including Apple.

detailedReviews 41: content: I was very disappointed with this purchase being my first Best Buy open box item that was this expensive. It was for my daughter. The thing started to glitch right after she set it up. It would reset itself after every 2-5 minutes. I bought this iPad as an open box excellent item. It also did not come in it's original box. When I took it back to Best Buy to exchange it, they told me that "it failed diagnostics a month prior to me purchasing it". I don't understand how Best Buy could even put it up for sale. I purchased the two year Apple Care plan also. So when I brought it back to Best Buy, the lady told me that it would take roughly two weeks to get it fixed and mailed to me at my house.
The Apple store was right down the street, so I took it there instead thinking that they may have one in stock to no avail. But I had it fixed through them, and it literally took 3 days for me to get it back in my daughter's hands and working like new.
Just be aware when buying open box items from Best Buy. Make sure that you purchase the warranty because some of these open box items (no matter if it's Excellent, Good, or Fair) are just no good. I'd still buy open box, because the deals are amazing, but this time due to the negligence of Best Buy's refurbished team, it went for sale with known tested defects.

After alot of hemming and hawing, I decided in the M2 air. The screen is beautiful and the volume is great. I only have one complaint the battery life is too short. I mostly stream on this device and leave it in standy the rest of the time. When using it I get 4-5 hours of screen on time with only streaming on wifi. I don’t play any intense games on my ipad. detailedReviews 46: content: I've had iPads since they first came out, and have upgraded every 4-5 years. My last iPad was an iPad Air 2020 and worked fine. I thought the M2 processor and five years' progress in iPad development would make this iPad much faster than my previous one but it is very much the same.
I transferred everything from the old iPad to this one so all the operating conditions are the same. I've turned off the irritating Apple AI on both. The only upgrade benefit has been the increased storage to 128GB, and possibly the camera being centred in landscape mode.
If you already have a 2020 iPad Air I'd suggest saving your money and waiting for the next version. Even the battery life is no better, and I'm comparing the five year old model to the new one.

Now only available on Pro series for $1K or higher. Would not have purchased if Apple would have advertised this reduced capability. detailedReviews 48: content: I have used Apple products for more years than I can remember so maybe I am a little biased. This iPad is a replacement for an iPad Pro and it does not disappoint. It was easy to transfer apps and data from iCloud and the iPad is fast and does exactly what you would expect. It was quickly updated to iOS 18.0 without any issues although there were one or two adjustments I had to make but this is to do with the iOS not the iPad. It would have been nice to have Face id rather than Touch id but not a big issue and Apple moving away from Lightning connectors is a bit of a pain but that was really forced upon Apple so cannot blame them.
I would knock half a star off as it does get quite hot with a lot of use. Again this may be an issue with the updated iOS.
For someone new to iPad then I would recommend this iPad Air.

It’s been redesigned for landscape mode (camera relocated). The issue is there’s no more split keyboard option making thumb typing very difficult or impossible. At this price also there should be camera flash. Dynamic volume control is I believe what they call it, I hate it. It needs option to disable this. The Touch ID button is awkwardly placed (why no Face ID?) and I’m not a fan of the camera on the right side of the bezel. I get that it’s intended for use with the Magic Keyboard but I don’t use it that way. Also, the battery life is short when used for gaming.

The new features are nothing impressive and whilst having a slightly larger screen is very impressive, the speed of the iPad is shocking. So much so that I've gone back to my previous iPad Pro.

This problems was solved by buying a large hard drive. Accessing Gmail through safari on my old iPad, I had frequent dropout of a half the image, so I couldn’t read the email. It must have been a software problem, because the same thing happens on my new iPad. I switched to the Gmail app to solve that problem, but still have to use Safari to bulk delete emails. In addition, I get vertical oscillation of some images on Safari, with my new iPad. Otherwise, I appreciate the fast processing and larger storage space.

detailedReviews 54: content: My (disabled) wife's iPad is 5 years old. She deserved a new, faster one. In the past, I have tended to favour elsewhere in Nottingham when I wanted to "talk Apple". Surely their staff would be more knowledgeable than a JL partner? My experience this year has proved this wrong. I called in to the Nottingham John Lewis store; I was warmly greeted and invited to browse. Then, as soon as my body language indicated I needed to talk, the salesman was there to offer advice. I told him I wanted an iPad, and I was taken through all my options - cellular or non-cellular, 128GB or more, etc. The salesperson was patient, and happily explained when I needed clarification, but stopped the explainer as soon as I confirmed I knew that bit. We spent about half an hour discussing my (well, my wife's) needs: the talk was never rushed, and it was always pitched at just the right level for me. He also made it clear which components were NOT sold with the iPad, such as the power supply; I especially appreciated that. By the end of our conversation, the partner had "made the sale" - but the purple-coloured model my wife had wanted was out of stock in the store! I thanked the salesperson most warmly, and went home to order the purple iPad from JL online. Maybe a few years ago, I felt JL partners were a little too casual in their selling: in 2024, I think they are trying much harder, and my in-recent store experience could not have been better.
The only negative I have about the entire purchase is that the "purple" colour of the iPad is very, very subdued. My wife's "signature colour" is purple, she has a deep purple wheelchair, and she would have liked the case to have been a more intense shade.

detailedReviews 59: content: I bought the 2024 iPad Air 11" 256GB to replace my six year old iPad 32Gb which did not have enough capacity to cope with OS upgrades and audio files stored on it. The set up was easy as all I had to do was use iCloud storage to install files and apps, I synced the pad with my iMac and iPhone and have been using it as normal for the last three weeks. It does all I need it to do speedily with a bright clear screen and the increased storage should for the time being be more than sufficient for my needs. Before anyone considers buying something like this they should think seriously about what they may want to use it for in the future and allow for the probability that their storage requirements are going to increase. An investment in the larger GB capacity although more expensive might save much frustration later on. I noted comments in the reviews I read before buying the iPad Air that a charging plug is not provided (if you buy one in America a two pin plug is provided) so if you do not have one recharging the battery could be a slow business.

detailedReviews 60: content: This is my 2nd iPad (1st one was an iPad Air 3rd generation). I was considering the 13 inch iPad Air but I'm glad I picked the 11 inch one as the screen is plenty big enough and an ideal size for taking out and about. Found setting up the new one very easy, just by placing it next to the old one and following the instructions all the settings, apps etc. transfer exactly as they were before. Very fast and responsive and works well with the Apple Pencil USB C, but do find that actions requiring a swipe from the top or bottom of the screen have to be done with a finger. Before I set it up, I was concerned that the Touch ID might be hit and miss as the power button is quite narrow but it actually works easily and very well! Photos and videos look amazing with bright and vibrant colours. I don't normally subscribe to Apple TV but I'm enjoying the 3 months free subscription from John Lewis! The only negative is that you don't get a charging plug included but I paid the £16 and ordered the Apple fast charger at the same time.

detailedReviews 61: content: The iPad Air delivers powerful performance, a great screen, excellent cameras, versatile connectivity and Apple Pencil support (although we don't use this, it's there!) - great for students, creatives and casual users who need more speed and functionality. Not cheap, but then Apple never is.
It has about a 10 hour Battery Life which is good, not earth-shattering but adequate for the normal user.
The cable accessory it comes with for power is just a cable and way too short. So you may want to buy a longer 1.5m or 2m cable and a 20-30W USB-C plug.
As usual John Lewis deliver quickly and without fuss - also offered free next day delivery.

detailedReviews 62: content: Bought to replace previous iPad. The iPad Air does not disappoint. It is easy to set-up. It has a clear screen, is fast, reliable and takes sharp photos and is pleasant to use. The 11 inch screen is a good comfortable size for daily use.
Disappointed that Apple have discontinued including the new USB-C power adapter in the box which adds extra expense. I would definitely recommend purchasing the Apple Smart Folio (although it is expensive) as it is a perfect fit and is extremely well designed by Apple and protects your iPad well.
I use my iPad daily and now hardly use my Microsoft laptop as the iPad Air is far superior and easier to use.
The order process & delivery by John Lewis was as usual fast and efficient and I was given a Pin Code for delivery so that gave me confidence that my parcel would be delivered only to myself at my address giving added security considering the value of the parcel. Highly recommend.

detailedReviews 63: content: I have always bought the base iPad in the past, but this time decided the M2 CPU convinced me to buy the iPad Air. It is really good as a iPad very responsive. However, with that power comes some heat from back and sometimes it can be a little uncomfortable but not a lot. I bought a Magic Keyboard and basic Pencil USB C and here is where the iPad disappoints. Neither keyboard or Pencil really does much for the investment. It is still a iPad with a touch centric operating system that only partially improves buying a keyboard or Pencil. Actually I dropped the Pencil on a hard floor and it broke so their’s that. The keyboard is useful but an expensive addition if you buy an Apple one. Battery life is good, but not stellar. Would I spend the extra for a iPad Air? Yes, for the iPad itself but would skip the accessories.

detailedReviews 65: content: JL delivery speedy and no problems. Not packaged well enough so the corners of the ipad box were a bit beaten up. Product works fine as expected. Major problems with transfering data between old and new ipad. Two hours with Apple phone support and then still had to take the new ipad into an Apple shop for further support. So the product is good and works well but the accompanying transfer software gets hung up on trying to update the ipad to IPAD IOS 18 version. As the transfer is fully automated it should mean it is impossible for this to go wrong. It did.

When I received it it was put in an evelope package with no padding, and the actual item was filthy. Finger prints all over it. Now with this being my first Open box item I was expecting it to be sent with care even though it was already used. I took it out and gave it some love by cleaning it up myself and its perfectly fine, no scratches or scuffs of any kind. I guess i expected it to come clean free of anyones prints at least.

detailedReviews 67: content: Very easy to set up and use. I was able to transfer all relevant data from my iPhone relatively easily but I needed to consult Google on a few occasions for explanations of how to do things. The iPad has some instructional videos in its repertoire as well.
As a more mature, less tech savvy user it was relatively easy to set up and start using it. It is able to access some Microsoft functions such as Word and Excel if you are already subscribed to them which was a big plus for me,.
My overall verdict is that as time progresses I will find the iPad a fantastic addition to my tech gadgets

detailedReviews 68: content: I purchased an iPad Pro 2 years ago as a replacement for my older one. But it was heavier than my older iPad Pro so I kept using my older device.
Unfortunately, the last iOS update caused problems with my older iPad Pro and Apple support couldn’t fix it since it “was old technology “.
I ended up trading it in for the 2024 iPad Air which is much lighter, even more so than the iPad I traded in. I also got a better deal from Best Buy versus what was offered by the Apple Store.
I am very happy with it. The only downside was for some reason, it didn’t pull down all of my apps and settings from my backup in the iCloud.

But there are apprently different models of the 2024 Apple iPad Air 11", M2 Processor, iPadOS, Wi-Fi, 256GB
The one I bought does not have face recognition; it has finger print recognition which is not nearly as good.
And I bought a cover for it - which doesn't fit the model (Apple's term) of this iPad. I need a different (but very nearly identical) model - or version
So 4 stars for the tablet - but less than that for all the messing about

detailedReviews 70: content: I had had my old iPad Air for nearly 10 years and it was losing its charge quickly as well as taking a long time to charge. So I bought a new one, assuming it would be better in every respect. I was disappointed that I did not notice too much of a difference, only in the much shorter time it takes to charge. Everything else was about the same - I don't find it more responsive or anything.
And one thing that I just cannot get the hang of is how to close open apps on the home screen. It can take me more than 10 attempts to close them, as instead of pressing the home button, you now have to kind of flick them into the middle before dispatching them, and I think I either flick too quickly or too slowly. There must be a knack, but it eludes me!

detailedReviews 71: content: I have had several iPads and this iPad replaces my 9th generation one, which I traded in at Best Buy. I am happy with my new iPad and like everything about it so far. The reason for one star is that I am not happy about the trade in. I was supposed to get $115 credited to the credit card I bought the new iPad with in 7-10 business days after Best Buy received the trade. I confirmed with them that it was received and the receipt I have from UPS also confirms that. This is Day 11 and I have nothing. Also, I have sold and traded Apple items at various places several times before and I have always been informed when they received it and have received periodic updates on the progress of my transaction. I have had none of that with Best Buy. I suggest if you are doing a trade at Best Buy that you do it in the store, not online. It is also very hard to get help to determine what is going on with your trade.

detailedReviews 72: content: I specifically bought this to read comics on and it's fantastic at it. It's lightweight and the great screen + high DPI + form factor is perfect. Pages pop almost better than in physical form.
I also use it for managing my home automation dashboard and streaming media, and it's flawless at that. May have been a bit overkill on the specs for what I need it for, but I'm fine with buying more than I need to future-proof it and the display and weight were the driving factors for me, which it delivered on.
My only critique is that the placement of the front-facing camera means I look extremely awkward on video calls if I try and hold it in portrait mode, I'm constantly looking off to the side at an angle, but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that most people do calls in landscape, and you can't really have it both ways.

detailedReviews 73: content: So far in about 4 weeks find the iPad AIr has an impressive speed when playing around with it. I have not had an Apple device before. My android tablet was also very responsive, but not up to the M2 processor. 2GHZ compared to 3.5GHZ with iPad Air. Got fed up with the annoying ads etc. appearing frequently from Google since the last software upgrade. Safari was too basic a browser, so switched to my Microsoft Edge account. Although still only has its limits on the iPad, I was able to easily import my favourites.
Need to spend more time with File manager. Don't find the one installed very friendly. Have since added another from the App store. Yet to set things up in it. Also using the WPS Office Suite. Had used this Office Software before, but not as it is on iPad. So yes I find Apple has it's quirks, but hopefully with time it will less apparent.

detailedReviews 74: content: Easy to order on line from John Lewis and I paid extra for accidental damage and extended 2 year warranty. It arrived in the time stated, properly and ecologically packaged and fully protected.
I invested in the 512gb model for 'future-proofing'. I have hundreds of songs and audio books.and have thousands of photographs. I am currently using approx 125 gb. This figure would soar if I was a 'Gamer', but then, I would have bought the Pro for that.
This was to replace my 2021 iPad Pro (which is still working well although data cable and power connections are failing, so Imminent repairs were likely.
Through iCloud, transfer of data and apps, from old to new, was absolutely seamless. Fine tuning settings for Sounds, Haptics, Brightness and appearance were an adventure.
I am thoroughly enjoying my 2025 Apple iPad Air. Thank you JLP.

This is a daughter who has visual impairment so this tablet is was very much needed. My older iPad Air 2019 may have struggled. It was already struggling to do some video editing in iMovie so that was enough to convince me that now was a good time to update. And of course with the John Lewis Click and Collect service the new iPad was in my hands within 24 hours. Set up was super easy with the Apple ecosystem taking care of it all for me. And the new IPad 2024 is breezing through the video editing, recharges more quickly with USB-C and does seem quicker and slicker than my older iPad. I added an Apple Folio to keep my iPad protected but also looking nice and sleek. Another great Apple purchase from John Lewis
